  Wonderful photographer and person!

  Alexis was so fun to work with. Her photos are really beautiful and capture the candid moments between the bride, groom and guests. She got the shots we really wanted but also surprised us with so many special moments we now will never forget. Can’t say enough good things!

  BEST Part of our Wedding!

  Alexis and CLP were hands down the BEST part of our wedding experience. Alexis was a joy to work with every step of the way. We had a blast during our engagement session where we really got to bond before the big day. She is incredibly professional and eased all my wedding planning nerves and day of jitters. Our family and friends raved about how Alexis and her second photographer, Erika, made the whole experience of taking photos (which can be quite stressful) fun and effortless. Her effervescent personality and pure heart shows through everything she does. If you are looking for a candid style where your community is captured and you can feel the love, warmth, and beauty radiate from each photo - Alexis is your person!

  January 2019 Engagement Photo Session!

  We hired Alexis to do our engagement photo session during a cold January day. She brought love and warmth alive in her photos despite the very cold conditions, and we couldn't have asked for a better session. She's wonderful to work with and her photos speak for themselves.

  Alexis is an absolute DREAM to work with. She has such an eye for beautiful, raw shots and is so incredibly sweet and wonderful to work with (even our guests were commenting on this!). She heard what we wanted, helped us decide what would be right for us, and more than delivered. She was there for me in more ways than one leading up to my wedding; I seriously feel like we became friends and that made her so easy to work with! Below is my initial reaction to seeing our wedding photos and I don't think anything else will capture how amazing I think she is!!

  We had a great experience working with Alexis for our wedding last fall! She is big on personal touches, super professional and attentive -- great communication, genuinely interested in who we are as people and a couple, what we were looking for and getting to know our family and community.

  I was incredibly lucky to find Alexis at a wedding of a friend, before I even met my figure husband. Alexis is amazing, she makes you feel comfortable (key to beautiful wedding photos), takes incredible pictures, can handle just about anything that can happen on a wedding day, and is just genuinely amazing. If you don’t hire her to capture your wedding day, you’re missing out.

  Great candid photos, wonderful to be around all day

  Cannot speak highly enough of Alexis. My wife and I met Alexis in person ahead of choosing her as our photographer, and I immediately knew she was not only a talented photographer who would make our wedding look beautiful and memorable, but more importantly, that she was someone I was happy to have around on our wedding day. In my opinion, having a well-regarded photographer only means so much if you don't also enjoy their company - since they're gonna be hovering around you for most of this important day.
  
  With regards to the results themselves, we were incredibly pleased. Alexis was timely in delivering photos, sent us a couple right after the wedding to fawn over, then gave us full digital access soon after - in 3 different file sizes, color and b&w, and sorted by event (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception etc). As we each went through them online, starring our favorite photos, she used this information when creating our album, in addition to going through multiple rounds of edits with us in order to achieve our perfect keepsake.
  
  One last little fun anecdote that I think might separate Alexis from other photographers - we found that she had a knack for starting to shoot posed photos before everyone got set, which resulted in a number of wonderfully candid shots. My mother's extended side of the family is particularly known for being loud, and when we all began assembling for a group shot, Alexis snapped a fantastic photo of the group gathering with seemingly every single person's mouth open because they were either talking, shouting, or laughing. The posed photo is there for official ancestry's sake, but the candid perfectly encapsulates everything about that side of the family. And I truly believe Alexis was the right photographer for catching the essence of what makes the family and day as a whole so special.

  Best ever.

  Of the dozens of people we needed to work with at our wedding, Alexis was by far our favorite. We sought her out for her style - natural, candid, genuine. But she was also the most professional, punctual, prepared and FUN person to work with. She was on top of absolutely everything and we were so well taken care of.
  
  Its been a while since we got married, but her style of photography really allows us to relive the day. There are no stuffy portraits, just beautifully captured natural moments that really paint a picture of what it was like to be there.
  
  We can't say enough about how lucky we were to find Alexis!

  I have been sitting on doing a review for Alexis for a while now because I can't even find the words to describe how thrilled we are with our photographs. From the very start she was an absolute joy to work with by being so helpful and sweet throughout our planning process. We did not want the conventional "posed" wedding pictures- we were going for a much more genuine journalistic/ documentary approach. The candid moments are the types of pictures that break your heart with awe. You can literally hear the laughter, tears, music and clinking of glasses as you scroll through the shots. She captured the beauty of our venue in ways we did not even have the chance to appreciate during the whirlwind of the day. Our favorite part is how she was so natural and calm (even with our overwhelming doting Italian family) that there were times we didn't even notice she was there. She was voyeuristic at the best times and yet in moments where it was hectic and we felt overwhelmed she was instrumental, extremely organized and provided structure. She also was so much fun! On top of her eye for BRILLIANT photography, she has an amazing sense of humor. My friend snapchatted me dancing like a mad woman to Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance With Somebody and in the corner of the frame Alexis (unbeknownst she was being filmed) is taking pictures of the party and singing along to the song- having a blast! That 7 second clip speaks volumes about her sparkling personality. She truly loves what she does and it shows in the amazing finished product. Additionally she was a wonderful resource for planning. She very much understands the "Out of the Box" bride that wants something a little more different and unique and she is great at giving advice on all aspects of a wedding. The compliments about our pictures are endless! We keep finding ourselves pouring over the album over and over again, reliving and savoring every special moment Alexis gave back to us.

Not only is she incredibly talented as a photographer, she is also incredibly kind, supportive and all around just the kind of person you'd want to have next to you to both capture and enjoy your wedding day with you. I was nervous about being followed around all day before and at my wedding, but she really put me at ease.   Where to begin! Alexis is a total dream. She's brilliant, funny, warm, engaging, thoughtful, organized, and present. She is precisely the type of person with whom you would want to surround yourself...especially on your wedding day. I should mention that we did an engagement session with Alexis on the High Line, where we got engaged. I am more than a bit shy in front of the camera and Alexis made me feel so beyond comfortable. We wound up having the most spectacular day, and I am so glad that we had the opportunity to spend time together in advance of the wedding. At the wedding, Alexis made not just me but all of our guests feel comfortable in front of the camera. She is so adept and so confident in her craft and so capable. She shepherded us through what was an otherwise daunting day with such poise and grace and good humor. I have Alexis to thank for feeling present on my wedding day. Her composure and vivacity are contagious. She's also so beyond organized and on top of things. I am a total space cadet, and completely relied on Alexis for purposes of coming up with and sticking to a timeline. It's staggering to me that someone could be so warm, funny and artistic AND so organized and reliable!
  
  What's more, Alexis is a beyond talented artist. Alexis's photographs not only serve as a record of the most important day of our lives, but also individual works of art. Truly, each photograph is so artfully composed, and beyond exquisite -- interesting and inspiring aesthetic objects in and of themselves. I loved Alexis's perspective on our wedding, and continue to be amazed by how she captured these incredible details, and moments between me and my husband, my parents, our guests, the venue, the sky, the list goes on. She was in a thousand places all at once, and yet every single photo looks as if it took hours, given how thoughtful and complex and incredibly framed it is.

  Alexis is amazing! My wife and I ran across one of her wedding albums while we were venue shopping and fell in love with her work. We reached out to her before we even set a date for our wedding. On our wedding day, Alexis made sure everything went smoothly and as planned. Her positive attitude is contagious and most importantly, she was so calming on our big day!   My husband and I couldn't have been happier to have Alexis as our Wedding & Engagement photographer. She made sure we got the shots we wanted, but the images included in our final package were so thoughtfully selected that they painted such an amazing picture of our wedding day. Additionally, Alexis was so positive throughout that our family and friends were singing her praises, as well ("Your photographer killed it" - my cousin.) Hiring Alexis was the best decision we made during our wedding planning process. We would recommend Alexis over and over again, and plan to.

  My daughter and her husband hired Alexis to photograph their April 2016 wedding and we were all amazed and delighted with the results! From the moment she arrived at our apartment to photograph the getting ready process we were charmed by her upbeat, friendly, funny personality. It was important to us that the photography not interrupt the flow and pace of the event and Alexis managed to capture the joy of the celebration without ever seeming obtrusive or controlling. We asked Alexis to be our photographer for many reasons: she was extremely organized, she really took the time to learn about us as a couple, she had a great personality, and her pictures were beautiful. Leading up to the wedding, Alexis stayed in touch with us to finalize plans and to go over the list of all of the combinations of guests we wanted pictures of. She was extremely responsive when we emailed her with questions. At the wedding, she made sure everything ran smoothly, everyone felt comfortable, and all of the pictures on our list were covered. She did an incredible job of capturing nearly every moment from different angles while still seeming unobtrusive. So many of our guests commented on how great she was. This was confirmed further when we received our photos back and they were perfect! As part of our package, we also had a photo book which Alexis made and which we were extremely happy with. To sum it up, we have only wonderful things to say about Alexis and are so glad that she was our photographer!

  Where do I start with Alexis and City Love Photography? We used her services for our wedding this past weekend at The Green Building and it was a perfect experience.
  
  We chose all our vendors pretty carefully and immediately fell in love with her website, photos and overall photography outlook (also she was featured on apracticalwedding.com which was a big plus).
  
  From day one she was intimately involved with our planning process, was incredibly responsive (always within hours with coherent and well thought out answers) and always had a light hearted and warm presence. She went out of her way to scout out the venue (unprompted) as well as really get to know us and our preferences as clients and more importantly as people.
  
  Above all she is an excellent photographer, clearly with loads of experience and beautiful results(as witnessed by her previous work and the early samples we've seen from our wedding). She made the pictures prior to the wedding enjoyable and effortless and made my wife and I incredibly comfortable (not easy to do when you're supposed to be 'natural' in front of a camera!) During the actual ceremony she was almost invisible, except when we needed her for impromptu portraits. That last part cannot be overstated as I've been a so many weddings where guests can't see over the photographers head as they're angling for the best shot.
  
  In summary, use City Love Photography for your event, you will certainly not regret the choice!
