We got a million comments about how fun and cool it was to be on the boat for our wedding, the ceremony views were amazing, and our day of coordinator Lauren (with assists from Daniel) were top notch! It was such a fun night, everyone raves about the food, and the crew took great care of everyone -

We had a small wedding. 38 people.
Lauren made sure that I never once stressed out for anything. Our guests were raving about the food. The servers made sure every glass & plate stayed full, the bartender ensured the drinks stayed perfect. We blinked and all the clutter and tables were bussed.
Jaye was our DJ and one of my biggest fears that no one would dance. The floor stayed busy 99% of the time. He went above and beyond what our vision was!
All I can say is INCREDIBLE! Worth every penny! We had a blast! Even with the rain: it was PERFECT. We had a perfect sunset as everyone was leaving (pic) -

I booked a wedding cruise for my son's wedding. He is the youngest of 8 and the last to be married. City Cruise Norfolk staff promptly responded to and offered solutions to all of my questions and concerns. They accommodated and made all of my decorations happen beautifully. During the cruise, the staff responded positively and quickly to all of my requests. They corrected every glitch so fast it was as if they never happened. The food was delicious and plentiful.
Our guests and I had a great time. Guests from 12 to 80 years old danced the night away. Many of the guests said it was the best wedding they have ever attended. My son and daughter-in-law are still thanking me. -

It was a incredible experience. A big thank to our wedding coordinator Katie for everything she did for us. She made sure our big wedding day was the best. We also thank the kitchen staff for the good food, and to our waiter and waitress Chris and Mehgan for being so helpful. Our day turned out excellent. -

Katharine was amazing and the best! She made my wedding day memorable. It rained a little bit that day, I was allowed to have my ceremony on the Spirit of Norfolk and then my reception on the Elite. Everything ran smoothly and seamless. Katharine was on point with everything! She made sure that the timing of everything was on point. I did a dinner cruise on the Elite back in October where Matt was the DJ. We requested him for our ceremony. My guest absolutely loved the menu. My favorites were the beef and salmon, the best!! Thank you Katharine, Matt, and staff! I recommend that my friend do her vow renewal here so I can come back for the food. -

We cannot express how glad we are that we chose the Spirit of Norfolk as our wedding venue. Our coordinator, Katherine, guided us through the entire process and was a life saver on the day of the event, as we ran into challenges in our attempts to make everything perfect. Our ceremony at dusk on the Sky Deck is the stuff dreams are made of. The venue inside the ship for the reception was first class. And the food, our friends and family are still raving about. And being a DJ myself, I must give a shout out to DJ Jerritt. He executed the music for the ceremony & reception perfectly. Our waitstaff was top notch, too. The Spirit of Norfolk is the venue for a wedding superior to any other. And the pricing is excellent. -

Vicki Sent on 09/25/2018For us it was so much fun! They make it easy. We could not have picked a better venue. They do so much & make it so easy. I didn't have to worry about food, they have a Buffet, & it was good, we didn't have to worry about a DJ, their DJ was wonderful! They worked with our cake bakery so we had the cake we wanted. They worked with us so we got the photographer we wanted. Everything was wonderful! We Love the Spirit of Norfolk!

Jennifer Sent on 09/01/2011The Spirit of Norfolk was awesome! Due to hurricane Irene hitting our area on our wedding day, we almost weren't able to have a wedding. The Spirit of Norfolk really came through for us. They kept in contact with us and were easy to get ahold of with any questions. They gracefully moved our wedding to Friday instead of Saturday. It was absolutely beautiful and very well organized. All the staff was wonderful and professional. The buffet had something for everyone and we received many compliments on how good it was. The wedding planner was very helpful and understanding too. The whole day was worry-free. If I could do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing. It was a blast! -

We planned and paid for our wedding so we needed a place w/ elegance, low stress, and affordable. And here we got what we needed. They were flexible in meeting our needs, very professional, provided guidance and suggestions through out the whole process and just down right awesome to work with. I had the pleasure of working w/ Jennifer. Katharine and Astrid and each of them went above and beyond to help our special day as perfect as possible. Totally recommend here for weddings and special events!!

Having all the accommodations (wedding ceremony, reception, photography, and DJ) right at the palm of our hands gave us as a couple and family the chance to just relax and enjoy our day and night. If I had the chance I would pick the Spirit of Norfolk and their crew all over again.

There were miscommunications and frankly missed communications with this vendor almost from the start. I'm told mine was an atypical experience, but I will lay it out and let you decide. We had a small event, under 30 people, so we did not anticipate the problems we got. We had a meeting 6 months out to alert the team that we had a family member with mobility issues (2 steps with a walker, so not top deck ceremony for us), and 30 days before the ceremony we went in to turn in some paperwork and were casually told that we would have to move up the ceremony time because they needed extra to set up because they just learned about our disabled family member! 3 months AFTER the invitations were sent. The coordinator assigned to our wedding was unresponsive, I had to wait for an email back up to 6 weeks at one point, and had to resort to emailing and calling the booking agent to get anything done. The day of, it was pandemonium. The bridesmaid who had our tickets was told to turn them over to the captain, then guests were refused entry because they had no tickets. I was dragged to 2 different bathrooms with my dress in tow, started to get ready, only for my guests to start calling me and telling me they were not being admitted. We were under impression our party would be the only one in the section of a ship, only to have another group of 30+ people, noisy as all get out, to file in right after us. Apparently, we were supposed to pay extra to reserve our section, but no one ever thought to tell us, and when confronted after the event, we were told it's not in the contract, so we should have known! This is my first event, how would I know? Your people kept telling us we would be by ourselves, now you tell us we should have known that was not the case? The loud party proceeded to yell and shout "Happy Birthday!", interrupting our reception, our photographer had to stop filming video because of the noise, we never had a chance to talk to the guests even, and our bridesmaids had to go beg the DJ to allow us a first dance, because he was totally ignoring our existence after the ceremony ended. The guests were fussed at by the staff for putting their handbags down and messing up the settings. And to top it off, the coordinator were promised, and the people we were working with, was nowhere to be found. Instead we had a newbie coordinator who would not say shoo to a goose, and was not sure what he could or could not do, such as tell DJ to keep us in the forefront, turn down the deafening music, and not let the rave at the next tables to get out of hand and ruin our celebration. My husband had to yell out the toast to be heard over the noise, and he was livid! We went in after the fact to talk to management, and were offered a do over as compensation. Needless to say, you can't really do over your wedding. On the plus side, the food was delicious.
