Above and Beyond Service

We were so happy to have Tom and his family catering our wedding! They were super easy to work with and incredibly flexible (especially during COVID times). The food was incredible, and Tom really impressed our guests with gluten allergies by making almost everything gluten free. We also had another guest tell us that when she was offered an hors d'oeuvre she didn't like, the server came back soon after to offer her something she could eat, just to make sure everyone was enjoying the cocktail hour. They really mean it when they say they work to ensure everything runs smoothly, too! They took care of moving flowers and chairs after the ceremony, and helped load everything into our cars at the end of the night. Tom's daughter even helped my wife with her super-difficult-to-bustle dress. Two Steps really went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was perfect, and everyone could have a great time!

The absolute best!

We booked Tom and his company for our wedding on 09/25 and could not be happier. From the very start, Tom was so kind and responsive. He answered every question and went above and beyond. The day of our wedding couldn’t have been more perfect. Tom and his daughter took care of every little detail and worked with any little issue that came up. His daughter always made sure I was good and having fun throughout the night. All of our guests raved about the food and the cocktail hour. I could not recommend them enough!

Best vendor decision for our wedding!

Hiring Two Steps/Ciao Catering was the best vendor decision we made for our wedding! We worked with Tom, who was professional, responsive, friendly, and easy to work with. He had worked at our venue several times before and put together a great diagram of where everything would go and a comprehensive reception schedule that helped relieve a lot of potential stress, as we were planning most of the wedding ourselves.

When our wedding day was forecasted to be rainer and colder than expected, Tom and his team went above and beyond to find tent walls and heaters to make sure our guests were comfortable and had a great time. And the food was incredible! Weeks later, I am still hearing compliments from guests on the delicious wedding buffet.

I cannot recommend Tom and the Two Steps Team highly enough!

Look no further!

Had to change our wedding date 3 times and on the third date, we found Tom. As you would expect, by this time I was a wreck with nerves and Tom made the entire process effortless. From the first meeting we knew right away we wanted to hire him. Not only was the food amazing but he was like our wedding planner. He coordinated with the rental company, liquor store and our venue (tarrywile) which was a tremendous help. On the day, his daughter Kate was amazing. She made sure my husband and I had food, drinks water and anything we wanted. Our cocktail hour was amazing, everyone was talking about how good the food was. As well as our delicious entrees. You will not be disappointed with Tom and team!

Exceptional Service

Tom Devine and his team at Ciao Catering were exceptional. The food was amazing and the service was spectacular. Everyone was talking about the food all night and into the next day. Not only is Tom an amazing chef but he was instrumental in the coordination of everything for our special day. From the rental company, liquor order, deliveries, venue and timing of everything... he was in contact with every aspect of the day. We could not have done it without them! They made us feel special and made our day even more incredible than we could have imagined. We would highly recommend them.

Absolutely fantastic!

We hired Ciao Catering and Tom Devine for our daughter and son in law's recent wedding. I can't begin to express how happy we were with every aspect of the wedding reception with them. He made sure that every detail was just right, and the whole team was lovely and pleasant; wonderful and professional! Kayte was our point person on the day of the wedding, and was absolutely incredible too!
The food was amazing and we received so many compliments regarding the food and the staff - from our arrival to the cocktail hour, all the way to the end. They set up the decorations beautifully and cleaned up everything at the end so quickly and efficiently - even packing up any food that was left for us. He made the process so much easier by connecting us with various vendors and suppliers, and they all worked out beautifully!
He was especially responsive to any concerns and emails we had and put our minds at ease.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ciao Catering and Tom Devine to any of our family and friends in the future!! Just terrific!

I can’t say enough about Two Steps, Tom Devine and his staff. From our first meeting up to the day of the wedding Tom was right on top of everything. He was quick to respond to all our emails and questions. On the day of the wedding Tom was there handling EVERYTHING and coordinating all the vendors putting my mind at ease so that I was able to enjoy the day. The food was amazing, exactly what we had discussed and more. Top notch service from beginning to end. A perfect day and I will only use Two Steps again for all of our future events.

This is your no stress catering option

Early in our wedding planning journey, we decided that we didn't want another generic wedding venue. We decided to have our wedding reception in a church hall which required us to obtain an on-site caterer. Luckily, we found Tom at Ciao! Catering. From the very first time we called Tom at work (an unscheduled phone call), we had confidence in his ability to be straightforward and down to earth. After the first tasting, we knew that his food supported all the good reviews. He stayed within our budget request and helped coordinate everything from how many napkins and table cloths to rent to how much beer/wine/liquor to buy. He even acted as a day of coordinator.

Most importantly, guests have been raving about the quality of food and level of service since the wedding!!

In summary, a message to those who are getting married: Some people will tell you how they didn't even eat at their own wedding. If you choose Ciao!, you won't have to worry about this, because the bridal/groom attendant will make sure you get served first AND if you care about good food, you won't want to miss out!!

Wonderful!

My husband and I got married this past September at Wood Acres Farm in terryville. Ciao was amazing from start to finish. All our guests raved about the food. Tom and his staff were professional and on point. Tom took the time to meet with us and listen to our likes and dislikes regarding food and made our menu “us”. Due to a dessert mishap by our baker, staff from Caio went to a local grocery store to purchase a few more desserts. I highly recommended Caio for your catering needs!

Tom Devine & crew is Simply Divine!

Tom Devine and his staff of Ciao were absolutely wonderful! We are so grateful we chose Ciao! From first call with Tom then onto our first meeting and tasting we felt so taken care of. Tom kept every aspect of the day so organized and documented as the planning went along which was fabulous to have that support and attention to detail. Come the big day everything went off without a hitch with the help of Tom and his courteous and caring staff. The food we chose for the evening was prepared to perfection and just so delicious! Everyone commented on how tasty everything was from cocktail hour to the main courses. Just perfect and never a worry in regards to anything. Tom is a pro at what he does and a class act with lots of experience, don’t hesitate, give him a call and book your special day!

Simply the BEST

I am very very lucky to have had Tom and his team cater my wedding this past weekend. From the moment I met Tom, I knew I was in the best of hands. Throughout this whole process, Tom was so responsive and accommodating. He answered all my questions extremely quickly, and was incredibly flexible with menu changes leading up to the wedding. The week of the wedding, we knew that it was supposed to be 95 degrees on wedding day and Tom made new plans to move our celebration inside. On the wedding day, Tom and his team were absolutely incredible. They did everything exactly as we had discussed, and they did an amazing job of setting up our ceremony and cocktail hour indoors due to the heat. Tom's staff were extremely attentive and made sure my husband and I were taken care of all night. Not only was the service top notch, but my guests are still raving about the food! The hors d'oeuvres and salad were absolutely delicious, and my mother is still talking about how perfectly the steak was cooked! You really can't find a better team than Tom and the staff at Ciao! You won't regret choosing them, they are simply the best!

Tom worked with us from day one to have our vision come to life. Ray helped to execute to make sure the day ran so smoothly -- they are the dynamic duo who delivered above and beyond service and quality for our wedding. From the beginning, we had a unique vision of what we wanted our day to feel like. Paired with our venue, Tom worked with us to make sure our wedding felt like the house party we wanted, warm and inviting with comfort foods mixed with a high quality formal affair. He found the perfect blend of our vision and his professional opinions about what a wedding menu should look like. We had the BEST menu and our guests will talk about it for years to come. He customized everything to our tastes and desires and we were blown away during our tasting when it all came to life. His staff were pros and went above and beyond to setup the mansion including our centerpieces and other special details we had incorporated. He worked seamlessly with our other vendors and we couldn't be happier with the outcome of our wedding in large part to Tom, Ray and their team. Tom was also a great source of information and recommendations for other vendors, we completely put our trust into him and did not disappoint. Amazing experience

Ciao Catering were amazing for our wedding. The food was outstanding; our guests were raving about the dishes. They were also very flexible, and in the end they helped us to craft a menu that reflected our tastes and personalities. The best we could have ever asked for

Tom was incredible and invaluable on the day of and, more importantly, through the entire process. He took ownership of so much and provided necessary insight to make the day ours. And the food was delicious too—I’ve never heard so many people rave about wedding food before.

Tom was upfront with cost, and no last-minute changes happened on the day or week preceding the wedding. He over-delivered in terms of quality; both the food and staff were absolutely marvelous. When I had questions, Tom answered thoughtfully, creatively, and quickly, both before and after the contract was signed.

Are you having a wedding? Do you want great food, great staff, and great correspondence? Do you not want it to cost an insane amount? If you answered yes to one or all of these questions, choose Tom and Two Steps. You won't regret it.

Delicious food and wonderful service

Tom was a pleasure to work with! He did not pressure us at all as we were selecting caterers and he put together a great menu and worked with us quite a bit before we even committed to using his services.
The night of our wedding, he was calm and collected and had everything under control. The food was delicious and everyone had plenty to eat that they all loved. He was cognizant of multiple food allergies, sensitivities, and restrictions. The service was wonderful and we couldn't have asked for more.
His staff made sure that the bride and groom had plenty to eat throughout the evening, and brought us drinks and snacks as we needed them. The room was set up beautifully and Tom and his staff were great at creating and sticking to a layout.

Amazing experience and value

We had our wedding in July 2018 at Tarrywile Mansion and Two Step Catering was one of the preferred vendors, and we are thrilled with our experience with them. After an initial phone call with Tom and discussion about menu and budget, we went ahead with Tom team and didn't look back! Communication was always fast and Tom was very patient. On the day of, his team went above and beyond to help us. We tried to do as much as possible to DIY and keep cost down - for example my family did all the floral arrangements and table decorations, and all we had to do was get the flowers in the vases and leave instructions for what table decorations went where, and everything was put in place by Tom's staff, no hassle. Same ease with clean up. Since we also DIY for a DJ, Tom actually announced us as we walked into the mansion right before our first dance, which was very sweet :-) We were very impressed with the menu selection, and on the day of, the quality of the food. Everything was delicious! And lastly, going with Two Step Catering was a huge budget saver in terms of alcohol - they recommended a local liquor store (that also delivered!) where we could place an order, alcohol delivered, used their bartender, and then we returned what we didn't use the next morning. This probably saved us thousands of dollars compared to an all-inclusive venue! So, in summary, no reservations whatsoever in working with Two Step Catering, so happy we went with them!

Fantastic Job on Wedding Rehearsal Party

We had a 100 person rehearsal party in Ridgefield, CT in August and Tom and his team nailed it! Tom came highly recommended and absolutely lived up to the reputation. They were super easy to work in designing the event and executed everything perfectly. Pricing was super reasonable as well.

Tom Devine and his staff are incredible! Tom thought of every little detail, he was not just a caterer but his staff moved tables and chairs, coordinated with all of our other vendors for the set up and flow of the wedding, and even thought to bring containers for us to take home the left overs. Let me tell you.. we wanted the left overs! Our friends and family raved about how delicious the food was. Tom was organized, professional and made the entire process easy by meeting with us at his restaurant and at our venue. Tom and his staff were absolutely incredible leading up to the wedding and the day of. From the moment we met Tom, he was professional, helpful, and very real with us. He was so good at giving us his honest opinion about decisions we wanted to make, while always helping us to stick to our vision. I appreciated how upfront he was about pricing, and he is extremely well priced for the amazing quality service and food he provides. The day of, his staff was beyond attentive to us and made sure we got to eat the delicious appetizers even while we were taking our photos. During the wedding, many guests told us the food was delicious, and not the typical wedding food they were used to. Because we had a tented wedding reception, we had to bring in a lot of rental stuff, which Tom took care of totally, telling us exactly what to get and getting us the best price possible from the rental company. We didn't hire a wedding planner, but it felt like we did because Tom took care of so much for us! You will not regret choosing Ciao! for your wedding!!

When planning our wedding, my husband and I were encouraged to reach out to Tom Devine and his team with Two Steps Downtown Grille for our catering needs. Thank God for this recommendation!!! For Tom is such an experienced professional and gave us much appreciated tips on everything from appetizers to our table arrangements to even the best place to enter to walk down the aisle. What's more, Tom brings the calm and attention to detail that is most needed during the often all-consuming/stressful wedding planning process. For example, while trying to figure out how to arrange our tables for the reception, Tom tried his best to carry out our vision but was also able to patiently explain what was and wasn't possible by carefully going over the dimensions of the room available to us. What's more, while many in the wedding industry will try to upsell anxious brides and grooms intent on providing a memorable event, Tom never once did that. In fact, in addition to keeping to our budget, he even suggested ways we could cut costs. And then there is his food - all of which is DELICIOUS. Our guests not only raved about his appetizers and entrees on the day of our wedding but are still raving about it weeks later! Finally, Tom's staff was also friendly and organized which meant that my husband and I were able to focus on our families, friends and each other. Simply put, my husband and I wholeheartedly recommend Tom Devine and his staff to any couple looking for an amazing caterer for their wedding day!

Tom and his team are INCREDIBLE! He went above and beyond for us on our wedding day. His hors d'oeuvres were delicious. We recently had the pleasure of working with Tom and his amazing team for our June wedding at the Lounsbury House. Two Steps is not just your average caterer... I felt is if Tom was my wedding planner! He was so organized, I was able to put full trust in him keeping track of all the plans we discussed. I would never have to wait more than a day to get a response back from him. He also knows exactly what he’s doing, what vendors you should work with around him, how everything will go the day of, etc. he will help communicate to other vendors with and for you. In addition to the amazing planning process I went through with Tom, his team the day of our wedding was so attentive. Anything we needed, they were already getting. From setup, to bartending, wait staff, and cleanup, they truly are amazing. Everything ran smoothly the day of the wedding, and I can thank Tom and his team for that, as well as their cooperation with the other vendors I had working that day. My family loved Two Steps, my vendors noted how wonderful it was working with Tom, and my guests raved about how good the food was. I couldn’t recommend Two Steps more!!

Tom was great to work with for our wedding. Our venue did not have a general manager and was very self-service, so Tom went above and beyond by drawing a floorplan, advising on rental equipment quantities, liquor quantities, etc. He was flexible with the menu he developed as well. We did cocktail hour and buffet. The food was very tasty, and the staff was extremely attentive to me and my husband throughout the event ensuring we had enough food and water and drink. He then packaged leftovers for us and we were able to serve family members who stuck around after the wedding several more meals. He was very responsive to my many emails, and was truly a pleasure to work with. We look forward to having another occasion to work with Tom on!

I don't even know how to write this review because how can I put into words the experience I had with Tom and his crew at Ciao Catering. Simply, it was incredible.

Tom met with me before my wedding day, drew up a floor plan, and made it a beautiful reality. Both he and his support staff made everything move so fluidly, like clockwork, and brought my vision for both food and service to life. I was upstairs getting my hair and make-up done when I heard Tom had arrived. When I was finally able to come downstairs, I was floored. The space was transformed into the most romantic venue, and all without me having to speak a single word or lift a finger. The servers moved about as if they'd hosted events there for a living, and made everything absolutely perfect.

Then there's the food. I can start by saying that what was left over, didn't even last long enough to be considered a "left-over". The food that was kindly left in the kitchen ended up being requested as my guests left. We heard on NUMEROUS occasions "that was the best food I've ever had at a wedding", and even our pickiest eaters went up for seconds. I never regretted living across the country in Colorado until now, because I wasn't able to take any home.

Thank you, a million times. I will be recommending Tom and Ciao Catering to everyone and am so grateful for all of their hard work and attention to detail. You made my day perfect, and I can't thank you enough.

Ciao! Catering/Two Steps Downtown Grille came highly recommend by a friend and I could not have been happier with choosing them to cater our wedding. Tom Devine was our point person and he was prompt in responding to all my inquires, was very helpful with helping us create a unique menu for our wedding and went above and beyond on the day of the event to make sure everything went smooth from the ceremony all the way until closing. Tom was great to work with and provided us with all the necessary information and tools to make our day perfect!

My Husband and I have been in the food service industry for years so our choice of vendor for food and service was extremely important for our elegant backyard wedding. Tom Devine and his staff from Ciao! Catering certainly did not disappoint! Our guests could not stop complimenting us on the food and how seamlessly the night went. Everything was perfect from set up to break down and everything in between. Ciao! Catering exceeded our expectations and we are so pleased with how perfect our wedding was! We can't thank Ciao! Tom & Ciao! were a lifesaver. The food was great, the coordination leading up to the night was easy, the service the day of the wedding was seamless and friendly.
I had been speaking to another caterer who was taking weeks to get back to me each time we made a minor change to the menu--which was pretty basic. I called Ciao! and was immediately relieved. It was clear this was a company that takes pride in what they do. Tom was very easy to work with, asking all the right questions and keeping cool throughout. I was so excited when he came up with a menu based on what my fiancee and I liked and kept it within our modest budget. Tom gave me a contact for an alcohol supplier that accepted returns and the two of them coordinated on the day of the wedding. I loved the NY strip steak and all the hors d'oeuvres and many of our guests raved about the food as well.
This is a solid company you can rely on for your big day.

By far my favorite vendor I worked with throughout the wedding planning process. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing and helpful Tom and his team were from our tasting all the way through the last minutes of our wedding - if I could give them more than 5 stars I would. The food and their presentation was 100% on point which is the most I was hoping for but we got so much more! Tom's staff made sure everything went perfectly, they contacted all my vendors to go over scheduling, they setup our venue beautifully, they helped organize the wedding party before the ceremony and reception - one of them even followed my down the aisle and fixed my train as I walking down! They made sure my wedding party and myself and husband ate during photos and they made sure my husband and I actually got to sit down and eat our meal (which I hear is a super rare thing!)

If you're on the fence about which caterer to choose - don't be, just go with them they are the best!!

Ciao! Catering recently did an outstanding job catering my daughter's Bat Mitzvah. The food was delicious and Tom and his staff were so kind and professional. While it was nerve wracking for me planning this event, Tom was a calming force and expertly guided me through the planning process. Everything turned out perfect and I could not have asked for more. Planning a wedding is stressful but Tom Devine and his attention to detail truly lifted a weight off of my shoulders that only a bride can know! His communication leading up to the event, advice he gave and just his kind personality was exactly what you need when planning any event! The night of our wedding, the staff members were SO in tune with what we needed and were responsive to everything. Every staff member was polite, they worked behind the scenes in a swift and timely manor and impressed everyone!

Tom Devine and his crew at Ciao! Catering made wonderful food and provided outstanding service for our entire wedding and reception. The coordination and help they gave during the planning process and the wedding itself was the reason everything went perfectly. Everyone loved the food, especially the passed appetizers during the cocktail hour. The catering staff was professional and worth every penny. They made everything go so smoothly that my husband and I could finally just enjoy ourselves! Their attention to detail and responsiveness to even our smallest requests was incredible. We absolutely recommend working with Tom and his team because of their amazing food and service!

After speaking with several caterers, we knew pretty quickly that Tom and Kayte of Ciao Catering were the right ones for us. From the initial tasting to the day of our wedding we felt we were in good hands. They were able to manage the challenges of our "rustic" venue, were very flexible with any changes we requested, have wonderful staff and cleaned up everything afterwards. The food was great, from the passed and displayed hors d'oeuvres, to the family style offerings. Many of our guests gave compliments and asked who the caterer was. The wait and bar staff were kind and attentive the entire night. If you decide on Ciao! for your event, you won't be disappointed.

From the very beginning Tom and Kayte were a pleasure to work with. They helped make our event personal to us and went the extra mile to add the details that were important to us. The entire staff on the day of were excellent. The food was delicious and some of our guests have even asked who our caterer was because they would like to book them for future events. Tom and Kayte were absolutely wonderful! From the very beginning, they were very helpful and responsive. We challenged them with a couple menu ideas for vegetarians and they were able to meet all of our requests. We felt extremely comfortable with their level of experience at our venue (Waveny House in New Canaan, CT) and they exceeded our expectations. When we hit snags (the weather and supplies that hadn't arrived on time) they went above and beyond to make sure our wedding went perfectly. All our guests were very complimentary about the food, which was delicious, fresh, creative and bountiful. Their staff could not have been kinder and more attentive - one followed me around during photos to make sure I was getting something to drink and eat! We highly recommend Ciao to anyone planning a wedding or event.

This was the second time we used Two Steps Grille (first time was our daughters wedding) to cater an event for us and, as expected, they were phenomenal! The food was superb, as usual, but it's truly the staff that makes this company so outstanding. Tom and his staff are very professional and give you the sense that your event is the only thing that matters. They go above and beyond to make everything seamless and are extremely courteous and friendly. You hardly know they are there, yet everything just appears timely and flawlessly. Their clean up is impeccable ....they do everything for you so you don't have to lift a finger at the end of the night! My only regret is that I have now moved out of the area and won't be able to use them for my next event (unless they are willing to come to California!). Thanks again, Tom and staff.....you guys are simply the best!

We are very impressed by our experience with Ciao Catering. From when we sent our initial inquiry through the end of the reception Tom and Kayte were so responsive and well-organized. Their food is delicious and there are so many great options to choose from when planning the menu that it really allows for a personalized experience. We received many compliments from our guests and inquiries as to who was catering the event. The service during the wedding was excellent- we knew that our guests were being well taken care of and as a bride and groom we were able to just relax and enjoy the day!

Tom and Kayte were such a joy to work with! From the beginning they were calming and comforting in helping to make our vision a reality. They were very professional and always timely with their responses to our many questions. They also helped us think about many details beyond just our food which was a big help! On the day of our wedding they made sure me and my husband were well taken care of--there was always someone from their staff asking if we had enough food and if there was anything we needed. Our guests continue to rave about how great the food was even weeks after the wedding!

Tom and Kayte (from Ciao Catering) were absolutely fantastic to work with! From the very beginning they always promptly replied to emails and gave us thorough, honest feedback on all suggestions that we ran by them. Since neither myself of my Fiance had ever been married before, we had no idea what we were doing when planning the details of our wedding. However Tom and Kayte talked us through the majority of the process and honestly helped us with more than just figuring out the food choices for our wedding. On our actual wedding day, Kayte and the other staff on-site were on top of things the entire time! They made sure that everything was done on time and without any issues. At one point, one of the staff members (Christina?) even rebustled my dress for me! I truly have too many great things to say about Ciao Catering that I cannot physically fit everything in this review. I highly recommend this vendor to ANYONE planning an event (especially a wedding)! Thank you again Tom & Kayte for making our wedding day truly unforgettable!!

Two Steps Catering was a dream to work with. As first-time parents of a bride, they couldn't have been more helpful. Their suggestions and menu selections were amazing. Our guests were raving about our choices for the cocktail hour and dinner. As someone who appreciates and values communication, they were always very timely in answering our constant questions. Tom Devine visited our hall and produced a suggested hall layout which was an immense help. The waitstaff was very attentive and the hall/kitchen was spotless afterward. Tom and Katye were great to work with. They answered all of my emails/phone calls promptly and were very helpful in organizing the other details in our wedding, such as ice, liquor, and linens. I had the pleasure of working with Katye, Tom, and Ray. When one wasn't available another would pick up without a hitch. They were so helpful with planning my attire wedding, I couldn't imagine if I used anyone else. Every details we discussed was honored. I can't say enough wonderful things about Kayte and Tom! If you're still looking for a caterer, book Kayte and Tom for your big day. You won't regret it. They made our wedding a great success, and our guests are still talking about the food! From the initial menu discussions, to the tasting, to the final selections, to the actual event -- Kayte was a pro to work with, very flexible, and made it all go so smoothly. The quality of the food was phenomenal and priced right. The food can make or break a wedding reception, so we knew we had to get it right for our family and friends to truly enjoy, and we got it right with Kayte and her team! Having spent over a year planning the wedding, I was reluctant to give up 'control' during the ceremony and reception so that I could actually enjoy myself without worrying about the venue setup, logistics, the other vendors, the guests, etc. I was the first to arrive at the venue and watched one by one as the vendors arrived. Kayte stepped in with her team, and it was like clockwork from that point on. I gave Kayte a hug, gave up 'control' to her, and enjoyed my wedding. We had such a level of trust with Kayte that we were truly able to enjoy our big day without worrying about anything -- THANK YOU KAYTE!! Kayte has a great team working for her - the bartenders were attentive, the staff were great serving the apps and meals, and overall very attentive to our guests. One of Kayte's staff approached me and asked if I lost my cuff link -- she found it. I had no idea it was even missing, and not even sure how/where she found it! Overall, it was a great experience working with Kayte and Tom. I highly recommend them to caterer your event!

Ciao! catered my wedding last month and they were an absolute pleasure to work with. When we first met with Tom, before we had even signed anything, they provided a full menu tasting and suggested layouts for Waveny House, our venue. We were blown away by how delicious everything was. Not to mention that they were the best value we could find in all of Fairfield County. They know what they're doing, they're extremely responsive, and they attended to our every need on the day of our wedding. We were never in want of food or drinks and our guests still mention how amazing the food and service was. Everything was seamless. I highly recommend working with Tom and Kayte for any large events. I rarely give 5 star ratings but Two Steps management and staff exceeded all of our expectations. I was part of a committee planning a high school 50th Anniversary all class reunion event. From the first contact they went out of their way to work with us on budgeting, menu selection and layout of our venue (a HS gym!). The staff at the event was professional and accommodating to all of our guests. Most of all the owner was on-site during our entire event. We would definitely recommend Two Steps for any catering needs.

I can't even begin to describe how amazing Kayte, Tom, and the Ciao Catering team were throughout the planning process and on our wedding day. To begin, the food was fantastic. Kayte went out of her way to accommodate food allergies in our planning process and the menu was out of this world. In addition to making absolutely delicious food, Kayte was an amazing asset throughout the planning process, recommending other vendors, and getting our layout and timeline planned for the big day. On our wedding day I was absolutely blown away (and so were our guests) by the quality of the food, the attentiveness and kindness of the staff, and the overall level of care that each member of the Ciao Catering team took in making our day incredibly special. We got married last October so this review is a long time coming. We decided the food at our wedding was the most important thing and Ciao exceeded our expectations. From the beginning Tom and Kayte put our minds at ease. We had a “Southern BBQ” theme for the food and they hit it out of the park. The food buffet tables were beautiful! People are STILL talking about the food a year later. Kayte coordinated with all of our vendors so it was a flawless planning experience. The staff was so wonderful to my husband and I. Tom was at our wedding and I was so happy he was! My 8 year old son spent the entire day following Tom around asking him questions about cooking and food, so not only did he pull off an amazing day, he also engaged with my son and was just as attentive to him as he was to us. I’m pretty sure that no other caterer would have let him be his shadow for the day. To me that shows tremendous professionalism and exceptional character. I couldn’t be happier that I made the decision to go with Ciao, you will not regret it! They are really one of a kind!

Thank you Tom and Kayte SO much! Ciao Catering is so much more than just delicious food. They did an outstanding job helping us organize our vendors and rentals, put together our timeline and all the little details that go into that, and set up and take down. They were always prompt with any questions we had and gave us very thorough answers and advice. From meeting Tom at our tasting way before the wedding we knew we were in good hands and completely trusted and felt at ease with him and his team. We were in touch mostly with Kayte and she was there the day of and was absolutely wonderful. The whole staff was wonderful and took excellent care of not just our guests but making sure my husband and I were personally taken care of. The value of their services is truly amazing, we couldn't be happier with their service. The food was absolutely delicious and we got many compliments from our guests. Thank you again!

This catering service has made my husband and I feel special since the day we started to speak with them. First, they met with us to find out what kinds of foods we like and dislike and then they personalized a menu for our wedding. My husband is a vegetarian and they were extremely helpful with making sure the food was not contaminated with meat. At our event they brought all details together and made it work seamlessly. I requested that the bridal party have hors'deuvres serves at a different location at the venue and they were more than happy to oblige. They even assigned two waitresses to make sure my husband and I were getting everything we needed for the entire event. As for the food, all of our guests were coming up to us and telling us how delicious everything was. We had a sit down dinner for about 120 guests and the food came out quickly and very hot. No one was left waiting. The caterer even gave us left overs to take home. This catering service went above and beyond for my husband and I. If you aren't sure about this caterer my recommedation would be to use them because they will make your life much easier if you are planning your wedding by yourself. I planned my entire wedding and had to set up all decorations and take them down and Ciao! helped us take everything down. Lastily, my husband and I were able to control costs with this caterer and not make the wedding seem cheap. Our per head was 69 dollars and that's with steak, salmon, and eggplant for the main courses. This caterer also allows you to buy your own alcohol which is huge! You can customize what type of bar you want which saves a lot of money. Even though we did save a lot, our wedding did not look or feel cheap. My wedding day turned out perfect and I know that this caterer helped make it that way.

We planned this wedding ourselves and needed a professional catering service. Tom Devine not only co-ordinated and orchestrated his catering service but also linked-in with the other vendors and their requirements to ensure the whole event was cohesive. He, in effect, was the project manager of the day itself, right down to the timing of our guest arrivals and ceremony.
We had many compliments from our guests on the quality of the dinner - serving some 100 guests. We really appreciated Tom taking some of the organizational stress upon his shoulders and we always felt that we were in good hands.

My husband and I got married this July (2015). When we first began planning our wedding, we decided that one of the most important things for us would be to have GOOD FOOD to serve to our guests. By selecting Ciao! Catering and Events, run by Tom and Kayte, we got just that (and lots more)! Our wedding cocktail hour and reception were both on the grounds of Candlelight Farms Inn in New Milford, CT. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS- and even weeks later, our guests are still raving about it. Prior to consuming the actual food, a lot went into preparing for the day! Tom and Kayte were both wonderful to work with. Their friendly demeanors, professionalism, open and honest communication, organization, and passion for their work are just a few of their best qualities. Tom and Kayte helped with WAY more than just the food- they helped us to plan layouts, plan and order rentals that we needed, and advise us about many other details that can often otherwise seem overwhelming. For our cocktail hour, we had passed appetizers, and for our wedding we had a buffet. Tom and Kayte were flexible with any and all decisions that we made, helped to customize our food choices to make them represent us, and took great care of our guests. When the reception was over, we had a sparkler send-off. My mom commented that she started to get a stomach ache just thinking about the clean up that was going to be required. Upon returning to the tent when we had left, she couldn’t believe what she had seen- Tom and the rest of his wonderful staff had already cleaned up all of the tables, and helped to organize all of our decorations into a neat pile under the tent. All that my family had to do was load their cars. In closing- we are looking forward to using Ciao! Catering and Events for all of our future food and service needs! They have gone above and beyond to make our wedding day the best day of our lives! Thank you, Tom & Kayte!

My husband and I were married at the Branford House in April of this year (2015). We researched over 30 caterers in the area and Ciao! Catering exceeded our expectations and met everything we were looking for:
1. An Unconventional Wedding Menu-sure, they have conventional wedding food (chicken, steak, seafood), but Ciao also offered options that gave our guests a unique experience. Louisiana Gumbo, Baby Back ribs that literally fell off the bone (no mess in my white dress), an array of pasta, a steak and potatoes station, tuna tartar, warm chocolate chip cookies with milk shooters. Our guests (and my husband and I) were beyond satisfied with the array of the choices.

I'm sure as you read Ciao's reviews you will see a continuous pattern of 5 stars for everything, and I have to follow the same pattern; I literally have nothing negative to say about Ciao's service - both Tom and Kayte have been 100% by our side from start to finish.
Right from the start, we started sending menu ideas - we wanted to do something completely different by making our own dishes. Both Tom and Kayte helped us customize our menu, they gave us upfront pricing, and a free tasting which could feed a family of 4. Throughout the year we've worked with Ciao, Kayte has always answered emails within 24hrs, she has helped guide us around logistics, and they have given recommendations for vendors (liquor, rentals, DJs, bands). It's not just about the food, but how many wine glasses we'll need, what type of candles should we put on the table, they literally can answer any wedding logistic question!
The day itself was just phenomenal, coming from our church ceremony we were both greeted at the door to the reception by Tom and our own waitstaff, they assured us the food was looking great, they have everything under control, and if we needed something to eat and drink. The food itself was just superb, I couldn't have asked for more fresh, delicious, yet homely food! We have had many many compliments throughout the night, and post wedding on the food.
Not only with the food, but the staff that are a crucial part of the Ciao team we’re phenomenal. We can’t thank them enough for handling all of our eight home brewed beers, for accommodating everybody’s request, for checking in on my husband and I constantly. The servers mingled during cocktail hour, they knew exactly what they were serving, they accepted any request, and had a big smile on their faces the whole time!
We have to thank Tom, Kayte and the Ciao team for all of their hard work; they provided such a memorable, classy, yet homely experience!

Ciao / Two Steps did the catering for my daughter's 5/24/2015 wedding, and did a wonderful job. Kayte handled our wedding, and she was great to work with.

During the planning phase, she was very helpful in working with us to plan the menu, including dealing with some very unusual restrictions we needed to place on the food that would be available. She was always friendly and upbeat, and she was very responsive to the many change requests we made over time before the wedding.

At the wedding, she and all of her staff were efficient, friendly, and welcoming, greatly adding to the positive vibe of the wedding. The food was, without exception, delicious. And they willingly set up other decorations that we gave them beforehand.

And after the wedding, she and her staff quickly "boxed up" everything, including food, decorations, and flowers, and packed them in our car for us, so all we had to do was drive away.

From beginning to end, Kayte and her staff were great to work with. We all enjoyed the food very much, and many guests commented on the high quality of the food.

As many of the other reviews say, my husband and I can literally not say enough great things about Ciao Catering.

Father/daughter team Kayte and Tom were amazing at every step of the way. Kayte promptly responded to all of my emails and phone calls during planning. She made great suggestions on the menu, on rentals, beverages, how to arrange the tables, on the timeline of the day - everything. She had expert advice on how to make the most of our budget. Kayte made sure that the plan for the day was tailored to exactly what we were looking for.

Tom was in charge day-of on our wedding. My husband met Tom earlier in the day during set up and later described him to me as having an "aura of calm about him" (a godsend on the craziest day of your life). He kept things moving, and kept them moving smoothly. His team of caterers where phenomenal. They were so friendly and attentive. One in particular made sure our cups were never empty and brought my husband and I our meals from the buffet. They were truly wonderful.

As a photographer myself, I've not only attended weddings, but worked them as well. Ciao Catering has set the bar so high; I have yet to be as impressed with another catering company's service, as I was with theirs. So look no further! You will not find a better catering service around.

Tom and Kayte are such a great team, and we are so thankful to them for their beyond exceptional service. Hands down, the catering was the EASIEST part of our wedding planning -- we didn't lift a finger, except to sample a bunch of delicious dishes at the Two Steps restaurant where we were waited on like royalty. I have recommended them to everyone I know, and I continue to get so many compliments on the catering from the wedding. "The food was so good! The filet.... oh my god, the filet." "The hors d'oeuvres just kept coming!" "Who was your caterer, they were so attentive! I'm going to tell my niece"

Once you read through the hors d'oeuvres and entrees available to choose from... you're going to have some tough choices, because just by reading the descriptions and names you can tell that they're creative food creations and not regular standard wedding food that you find everywhere else. Absolutely delicious.

But one of the most important things to know about Ciao! Catering and Events is that they go above and beyond in helping you plan your wedding. I'm not even talking about just catering. They help you make your event schedule, they really ask about the details for your center pieces and other decorations (which they set up flawlessly), they send out for quotes on liquor and event rentals like linens, plates and silverware (who else would do this work for you?)

And the communication:
The communication was so prompt through every single email, and always so friendly! They even encouraged us to keep the questions coming! We were never an inconvenience, and their responses were thorough and never rushed. We had nothing to worry about on our wedding day because Tom and Kayte did such a wonderful job. My husband and I used Ciao Catering for our wedding in September. Kayte and her team were absolutely AMAZING. We had our wedding at a private venue so we had to provide everything ourselves. I was so overwhelmed, but Kayte was always available to answer my questions. Kayte made a custom menu for us with our favorite things and was so flexible with whatever we wanted. I would email her all the time and she would respond right away. She provided us with so much more than we could have imagined. We had trouble getting in contact with our party rental company (chairs,linens, ect) so Kayte stepped right in and helped us figure everything out. The days leading up to the wedding, she was such a huge help and took so much stress off my plate.

The day of the wedding, everything was set up perfectly and was so beautiful. The service crew looked great and were on top of their game. The servers were so polite and the bartenders were great. The food was delicious, I am still getting rave reviews! Kayte and her team helped to make the flow of the night perfect from the cocktail hour, to dinner to cake cutting and dessert. It was perfect.

The next day, we went down to the venue and it was so immaculately clean, that we did not have to worry about a thing. All the tables were put away, chairs folded and everything put back in its place. This was such a huge help as the last thing we wanted to do was clean the day after our wedding.

I only have great things to say and Kayte and Ciao Catering and recommend them to everyone! They were fantastic and you will not regret using their service.

Handled our daughter's wedding at our house beautifully with professionalism, a take-control attitude and a well thought out plan. Went beyond the call to manage the night and others, especially the rental vendor. And, the food got high marks all around from the quests.

In all honesty if you want the best quality, professionalism, food, staff, and what I consider a good friendship this is the caterer for you! Tom and his staff made our day amazing. They never once said the word NO! We got everything we asked for and more. Everyone that attended our wedding complemented the staff and food saying that this was one of the best catered events they have ever been to! Our wedding was at lighthouse point in New Haven and being an outdoor event we didn't know how well they could prepare the food with no real kitchen, but wow is all I can say everything was fresh and full of flavor. We rate them a 20 out of 10 if you are having a wedding and need a caterer do not hesitate to call and meet with them!

Kayte and the team at Ciao! was nothing short of amazing. From the minute we set up our initial appointment and went over menu options we knew we had found our team. We held our reception at a private mansion, and Kayte and the staff ran everything behind-the-scenes. They kept our timeline together and organized the entire team; they set our tables, bar, and decorations exactly how I had asked. The menu was unbelievable and exactly what we had asked for. I couldn't have asked for a more outstanding, professional, friendly, and wonderful service. Thank you for everything you guys did to make our day perfect!!!

Ciao! Catering and Two Steps Downtown Grille are simply amazing! Tom and Kayte are extremely professional and were very attentive with anything that we needed. My husband and I went with Ciao! Caterting since we only had a few options and such a short time to choose a caterer for our wedding that was affordable and had availability. We also chose them because they were one of the top vendors listed at our venue and with such positive reviews that we had to check them out. All the reviews were dead on, from the initial consultation/tasting to the setup and outstanding food at our wedding, our experience with Tom, Kayte and the entire catering staff was phenomenal! We are beyond happy we chose Ciao! Catering/ Two Steps and we highly recommend them, We would give them 10 stars if the rating went up that high.

Tom & Kayte at Ciao! Catering and Events were absolutely amazing. We got married this June and they made our event so special and perfect. They were a dream to work with for planning the event. They handled so many little details that I was worried "who is going to help set this up?" and they were more than willing to help with all the little details so I didn't have to worry about them the morning of. They were willing to work directly with the rental company for any extra supplies we needed. My husband and I are Italian, and both of our families live for food. The food they made was absolutely delicious, homey, and there was plenty of it. They were super quick and efficient with setting up the event as well as breaking it down at the end of the night. Also, with all of the things they did for us, the value was amazing for the price!! Ciao! Catering had the best price for more services than any other caterer we looked at in the area. All of there staff were kind, helpful and efficient during the event. Especially the spot person who was designated to us (the bride and groom) to get us water, food, and anything else we needed to let us enjoy our own event. We are sure our wedding would not have been as amazing as it was without them. We recommend them for any event, especially a special day like your wedding day to help make it so memorable.

Tom, Kayte, and the rest of the staff at Ciao did an amazing job catering our wedding!! We could not have asked for better food, service, guidance, communication, etc. We got a ton of complements on both the food, and the staff, who were all extremely friendly and helpful.

Food-wise, the highest praise Ciao can get is from my extended family from Louisiana, who can be a little critical of southern food, and they LOVED the Gumbo turnover hors d'oeuvres. Those were Tom's suggestion during our first meeting, and they were a huge hit, along with the rest of the hors d'oeuvres and entrees. We had 3 entrée choices, and my wife and I split all 3, and they were amazing!

Tom and Kayte were extremely helpful from day 1, and an absolute pleasure to work with. They were always professional, responded quickly to all of our questions, and were flexible all the way through to our wedding day. They were a huge help in coordinating the day, working with us on our menu choices, and providing advice on rentals and the bar.

The staff at the reception was excellent, and they assigned someone to regularly check on me and my wife, to see if we needed anything. She was amazing, and was always keeping an eye on us, or checking in to make sure we had whatever it was that we needed. Every server at our reception had a smile on their face, was extremely friendly, and seemed to genuinely enjoy working at our wedding, and working for Ciao.

When meeting with and deciding on wedding vendors, I found the most important criteria to be “who do you trust to take care of you, and treat your wedding as their most important event of the year”. We knew after our first meeting with Tom that we could trust him and his staff, and they did not disappoint in any way!! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer for their wedding or any event!

From the moment we met with the owners, Tom and Kayte, we knew our wedding would be in good hands. Throughout the process, we appreciated their wisdom and advice, as we knew how experienced they were at catering events, especially at the Waveny House. In preparing for our big day, every detail was considered and reviewed, because they cared to ask to ensure our vision would come to fruition.

The day was flawless. Seeing the set-up and orchestration of so many people to bring our vision to life was incredible. Every staff member wash friendly, approachable, caring, thoughtful and considerate. Every single need was met and anticipated. Nothing was a problem a staff member couldn't handle.

All of our family and friends commented on how extraordinary the food, service and staff were. Everyone was blown away by the overall day, which had everything to do with the staff of Ciao!

We are eternally grateful to the staff who took care of us like family!

On a personal note, Tom and Kayte from Two Steps are the best most organized, talented, honest and professional company in every sense of the word. My husband and I knew we had to book them right away after our very private and one on one tasting. I consider any couple that is looking for a caterer to be extremely fortunate if they get to book them. The food was delicious! The service was excellent! I could not be more pleased from start to finish... just all around luxury service.

We were lucky enough to have Ciao!/Two Steps cater our wedding on June 21st. A day normally ridden with stress and last minute episodes of overbearing bridal micro-management was instead the polar opposite for my husband and I.
I can't find the words to describe what good hands we were in for our big day. Kayte and her team were so professional and flexible. There were instances in which they even compensated for slight logistical mishaps on the part of other vendors. There were plenty of opinionated people on the guest list for our wedding, none of whom shy away from criticism . . . and all they had to give was shining compliments paired with the question of who the caterer was and could we give their info. "Never had filet so tendor or flavorful", "Can't believe how organized they are", "They're doing an amazing job of keeping all this ground covered with the appetizers." These are just a few of the comments we got throughout the big day and continued to get in the days thereafter.
Amidst all of the cooking, serving, clearing, scheduling, Kayte and her team also somehow managed to have a staff member frequently check on my husband and I to ensure everything was going well, if we needed anything special or wanted to push out the deserts, etc. Keeping my husband in one spot for more than 30 seconds is a feat in itself, finding him at a large and spread out venue consistently would have to border on miraculous.
There is no shortage of catering vendors in Fairfield County, many of whom may rest on their reputation. Ciao!/Two Steps has got to be one of the best kept secrets going.
Somehow, in a small, old kitchen and a big, spread out venue covering multiple floors of a house, a tent and surrounding grounds, Kayte and her team did more than deliver, they knocked this thing out of the park.

The staff that Kayte brought to our event were all very professional and a pleasure to work with. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for great food and great service in the area.

Our wedding went very well with the help of Tom and Kayte and their team! Everyone loved the food, especially the passed hors d'oeuvre. Not to mention their professional service, we didn't have to worry about anything (wine, cake serving, table arrangement, cleaning...) The team organized our own stuff perfectly even before I noticed. Overall, they are great and very enjoyable to work with!

Definitely give them 5 Stars!! They have catered a large annual party for us for the past 3 years and have done an outstanding job!! Staff are wonderful and hard working. Food is amazing! HIGHLY recommend them for any occasion, you will NOT be disappointed.

This is our 2nd Bar Mitzvah with Ciao and all we can say is WOW! Cio's/Tom Devine's entire operation - the setup, presentation, incredibly delicious food, friendly & hardworking waitstaff & very calm demeanor made the night just perfect!! We’ve received many many compliments on the fine job they all did. Their Sea Bass was one of the best I have every had, anywhere! They were warm, friendly, calming and accommodating along the way. We can't give them enough stars!

Make life easy and get a quote from Ciao! Catering. Once you speak to them, taste the food, and understand the value you'll receive, you'll undoubtedly hire them. Finding Ciao! as our caterer was honestly like winning the lottery. I received quotes from many caterers and no other caterer came close to providing the level of service and professionalism as Ciao! Catering. Not only did they have the highest level of service, but their food blew other caterers out of the park, and their rates were unbeatable. Kayte and Tom couldn't have been more responsive, accommodating, flexible, friendly or easy to work with. Their service was night and day with other caterers, and I couldn't recommend them more. For the year and a half leading up to my wedding day, I was completely at ease because I knew I had the best caterer possible. It was important that I surround myself with the best vendors to make the entire experience positive. Ciao! couldn't have given us a better experience. Give them a call, and you'll be singing them praises too!

Ciao! Catering and Events/ Two Steps Downtown Grille was absolutely fabulous!!! From the very start when we met with Kayte we knew we'd have a delicious, successful event! Everyone day of was so friendly, helpful and professional. Everything ran absolutely smoothly. We even had a wait staff primarily waiting on us the bride and groom making sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. Tom and the wait staff were incredible and we were worry free the entire night. The food was great and they delivered everything they promised and more! Absolutely no complaints!

Our wedding was everything I dreamt it would be, thanks Kayte and Tom and their amazing team. Every detail, every piece of food and every second was amazing and ended up even more beautiful than I imagined!

The process of planning was smooth and collaborative, I was incredibly detailed Kayte was responsive and very helpful along the way. She guided me through my menu selection, seating chart and scheduling process over the course of an entire year leading up to the wedding. In the months/weeks close to the event she was incredibly helpful and guided me in the right direction on a few decisions that I just couldn’t make without her guidance.
On the day of the event everything went smoothly and was expertly choreographed as between the DJ and the catering team, they worked perfectly together, allowing me to be stress free and enjoy my special day. Every detail that I had planned was flawlessly executed. We were on time but not rushed and the whole wedding party was managed seamlessly through the entire process. The head waitress was attentive and had every detail under control, making sure to keep an eye on things that were important to us.
The food exceeded our expectations on every level; it was elegant, delicious and again perfectly organized. Our big Italian families complimented us throughout the evening on the quality of the food and the incredibly professional staff.

Working with Kayte at Ciao was such a great experience. I was planning my wedding from across the country and was a little nervous about using Ciao without having ever tried any of their food, but they were incredible. Kayte was really responsive and helpful and she had lots of ideas on all parts of the menu. She was also really helpful in getting everything coordinated with buying alcohol and doing rentals. And the food... oh my goodness the food. Everything was delicious and everyone at the wedding loved it. I'm just sad I barely had time to eat anything :) All of the staff were super nice, but specifically there was a guy named Allen who kept an eye out for us (he was under strict instructions to tie me down and make me eat!) and he was fantastic. We would never have gotten a bite of food if he hadn't popped up with a plate for each of us. He also made an emergency liquor store run when we realized we were running out of stuff way faster than anticipated. Working with Ciao was a huge success and we would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

The staff at Ciao catering provided me with a service and experience that was flawless. I got so many compliments on the food, everybody was dying to go to the Resturant to eat after getting a taste at the wedding. The staff was unbelievably helpful and was there by my side at every moment I needed anything, it was like magic. They went above and beyond any requirement of a catering service, and literally made my wedding day flawless!!!!

Ciao! Catering and Events ddi a excellent job catering my son's first birthday! Their attention to detail, and willingness to accommodate my needs and those of my guests made the event less stressful. We had a pirate theme birthday party and Tom worked with me in putting together a menu with a Caribbean flair which was delicious! Kate did a terrific managing their team at the day of the event, and all my guests were raving about the party!

We couldn't have had a better caterer to do our wedding. The quality of service and professionalism that Two Steps offers is beyond measure. Kayte and Tom from Ciao! Catering are such great people. Everytime I emailed them with a question or concern, Kayte would respond to me within the day with an answer that would put my mind at ease. The food was absolutely delicious! They take care of more than just the food, with the setting up and taking down of things like the tables and chairs to cleaning up. They made our wedding day that much more perfect!
