Our ceremony with Minister Brenda Santana was one of the highlights of our wedding. The amount of compliments we received from guests about how incredibly warm and inviting Minister Brenda was, as well as how meaningful our ceremony felt really made our day that much more special. Minister Brenda talked us through each step of the ceremony, and always was available to answer any questions we had. We mixed in some Christian/catholic prayers with our vows being the main focus, and even my more religious family members thought the ceremony was perfect. The amount of options the Church of the Ancient Ways provides really allows you to curate your ceremony to make it feel like you, and our ceremony truly felt like it encapsulated who we are. We also included the incredible African American tradition of jumping the broom, and Minister Brenda gave a wonderful description that helped those who attended who may have never heard about the tradition. I would recommend Minister Brenda and the Church of Ancient Ways 1000 times over, and am so appreciative of how incredible our ceremony was.

Best Part of the Day!
Rev. Joe of Long Island Officiants was truly one of our absolute favorite parts of our November 2025 wedding day. From the moment we first spoke with him a few months prior to our wedding, we could tell he genuinely loves what he does as he took the time to ask us thoughtful, meaningful questions (in a fun causal way). It felt like we had known him for years.
Rev. Joe even shared his entire script with us and encouraged us to adjust anything we wanted. That openness and collaboration meant so much.
When our ceremony arrived, he came early to set up and checked in with us before our trip down the aisle. He painted a picture of our story so beautifully and authentically. He also welcomed and embraced the idea of blending both Catholic and Muslim elements, and he did so with such respect, joy, and intention that our families were deeply moved.
Rev. Joe brought the perfect balance of warmth, sincerity and amount of humor as we laughed and cried our way through the ceremony. Our ceremony really DID feel like us—which is exactly what we hoped for.
Rev. Joe is genuine, joyful, and truly gifted at what he does (you can see it in his smile and hear it in his voice). We couldn’t imagine our ceremony without him, and we’re so grateful he was the one to stand with us on such an important day. Brenda was amazing!
Brenda was a pleasure to work with! She met with us a few months before our wedding and it was so easy to talk to her and share our journey with her. She sent over the ceremony script she came up with based off our meeting for us to review. She was so accommodating with any changes we decided on.
The day of our wedding she was able to run through a rehearsal with our bridal party while we were taking some photos. Prior to the ceremony, Brenda also verbally rehearsed with us and invited our witnesses to sign our marriage license. She ensured us that the marriage license will be taken care of on her end, and while we were on our honeymoon we got noticed that we received back our marriage certificate.
The ceremony went so smoothly and it was great to hear the beautiful words of our love in front of all our loved ones.
Brenda included a blessing in Spanish, which made my mother and uncle very surprised and happy to hear. The same blessing was also spoken in English for all to hear as well.
At the end, Brenda gave us the binder with our scripted ceremony that she used for us to keep. It is such a special piece to remember our wedding in the years to come, especially since we did not hire a videographer.
During our reception and even the days after, we got so many compliments about how lovely the ceremony was and how wonderfully spoke Brenda was.
So Brenda, again, thank you so much for making our special day even more special! 10000% recommend to any one after us!

From the very first conversation, Joe Iadanza made us feel completely seen and understood. Choosing him as our officiant was one of the best decisions we could have made. He took the time to truly listen to our story and vision, and he crafted a ceremony that felt deeply personal, heartfelt, funny, authentic and full of warmth. Joe was incredibly responsive and thoughtful throughout the entire process. Every time we had an idea or needed to make a change, he was right there with us, revising quickly and offering guidance that made everything better. He was never just going through the motions. He genuinely cared about getting it right for us. What stood out most was his attention to detail and his ability to balance meaning with lightness. Reverend Joe made our ceremony unforgettable!
While starting the wedding planning process, my mom ran into Reverend Joe at a bridal expo and insisted we use him for our ceremony. I was a little hesitant, not having met him myself, but shortly after I attended a wedding where he coincidentally officiated and knew we needed to book him for our wedding! Reverend Joe knows how to pull in an audience and really gets to know/understand the couples he works with. After our 45 minute zoom call, he sent us a personalized ceremony script and we were able to provide feedback and edits for a completely customized wedding. It means so much to have this ceremony so focused on us, as a couple. He really portrayed our love to our friends and family. And he is a true professional in the wedding industry—knows what questions to ask, helps us take care of the marriage license, etc. We felt very supported through the wedding planning process. We have gotten so many compliments that this is THE BEST wedding ceremony our guests have seen. We’re so lucky to have found Reverend Joe!

We were having such a difficult time finding someone to officiate our wedding until we came across churchofancientways.org via google. We went through the site and were amazed by how informative it was. We filled out the contact information section and we were contacted by Rev. Joe within hours. We knew we found a gem upon our first phone call. Then we connected on a Video Call and an indescribable level of comfortability and trust was formed in Rev. Joe’s impeccable professionalism and ability to extract the story of my finances and I’s individual love story. Reading our rough draft we cried with tears of joy. He captured us perfectly. On the big day Rev. Joe was warm, understanding, and exactly what we needed. Several of our guests actually asked if we’d know him our whole lives!! Then, to top it all off, Rev. gave us our first wedding video shared on social media so we could all bask in the wonderful day well before any prepared photography! Rev. We got married last weekend at the Royalton Mansion in Roslyn, Long Island, and worked with Rev. Joe Iadanza on our customized ceremony. From the very beginning, Rev. Joe brought alot of energy and passion, as we told him our story and he helped draft up and tailor our ceremony to our unique personalities. Based on our inputs, he added in some humor (incorporating some Klingon based on our love for Star Trek and had a section which included soup dumplings based on our love for food!) We talked to many guests afterwards and they all were very impressed with the ceremony, as they thought it was very funny and unique and appreciated Rev. Joe's energy and delivery style! After seeing one of Rev. Joe's officiating videos on the Church of Ancient Ways website, it was clear we needed him to be our wedding officiant. An initial consultation phone call confirmed it and we were all set. One of the most meaningful aspects of wedding planning was the conversation we had with Rev. Joe to tell him our story and set our ceremony. We walked away feeling like we made a friend who is also an excellent listener. When we received the draft of our ceremony, we couldn't believe the accuracy and love with which he captured our story - no notes! Leading up to the big day, Rev. He’s a VIBE!
Being two women, we often support other women in business. When we were searching for an officiant, we were set on having a woman marry us. Then we saw Rev Joe Iadanza performing a ceremony. We looked at each other immediately and said “he’s the one.”
That was one of the best decisions we made about our wedding. Joe is warm, professional, organized, and reassuring. The thing we loved about him most is how he instantly understood who we were and told our love story in the most personal way.
Our guests are still commenting a week later about the ceremony and how engaging and fun and personal it was. We heard sniffles and laughter from our guests and many described our wedding as the best they’ve ever been to. We thank Reverend Joe for making it perfectly reflective of our personalities.
He is great to work with and we highly recommend. It’s been a week to the day and we got our marriage certificate in the mail already!

We had Aviva as our officiant for our wedding day and she was nothing short of amazing. We got so many compliments on how well spoken she was along with how soothing her voice is. Amazing Elopement!
Reverend Joe was an amazing officiant for our private elopement. He was kind enough to suggest several locations, and handle reserving the gazebo at Babylon Town Hall for us! He was always super responsive if I had to reach out with any questions, did an amazing job with the ceremony, and provided all of the information needed on how to get our marriage certificate and how to handle a name change! The Most Magical Day
Our wedding took place on September 21, 2024, and I'm still on cloud nine. After a very long engagement, I reached out to April in 2022 - from our first conversation, I knew she was the perfect person to officiate our ceremony. We weren't interested in the theatrics of a traditional wedding; we simply wanted a short, meaningful ceremony that captured the essence of our love. April masterfully delivered a 7-minute ceremony that was nothing short of magical. Guests raved about how perfect and special the ceremony was. The Perfect Ceremony
Pastor April was one of our most complimented vendors from our wedding on June 15, 2024 at The Piermont! We opted for the custom ceremony and met with Pastor April twice before the wedding to work on the ceremony drafts. She is truly an amazing storyteller, and we were so excited for the ceremony. When it came to the actual ceremony, she was flawless from start to finish. She captured every detail of our relationship and the importance of our family and friends who gathered with us to witness our marriage. It is not an exaggeration that maybe 10+ people asked about her when we entered cocktail hour saying it was one of the best ceremonies they ever heard and asked if we have known her for years. We highly recommend her and will cherish these memories forever!

Our wedding
Although this review is a little late, I would still like to share our wedding experience we had with the Church of Ancient Ways. Our wedding officiant, Aviva Sala was wonderful! From our first meeting to our big day, Aviva made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. She was beyond thorough and very professional. I’ve been fortunate to have had previous encounters with Aviva. I was her son Brandon’s Kindergarten teacher and she was the officiant for a friend son’s wedding. Not knowing this before the wedding, during the ceremony I heard her beautiful and distinctive voice and knew I wanted Aviva to marry us. On our wedding day, I wanted everything to be perfect (as any bride does), Aviva reassured me that it would be and that was why she was there. As promised, she took care of everything and the day ran smoothly, allowing us to enjoy our special day. After the wedding, Aviva shared that she would be following up with our “everything you need to know now” email. We received this email in a very timely fashion. Again, I cannot express my sincere gratitude to have had Aviva be a part of such an important and special day in our lives!

June 2024 Larkfield Wedding Ceremony
My husband and I got married by Reverend Joe on June 15th. We were looking for an officiant that would marry us at Larkfield, and came across Church of Ancient Ways. Not a Dry Eye with Joe Iadanza!!
I couldn’t have been happier that we found the Church of Ancient ways and Joe and booked with him. I found CoAW through a friend of mine that got married and knew their work. We opted to marry on site at East Wind and wanted a ceremony that wasn’t too traditional and accurately captured our love. We did a personalized ceremony where Joe spoke with us on a zoom session to get to know us, and let us proof read and make adjustments to what he was going to read too. He literally didn’t leave room for a single dry eye in the house. People LITERALLY thought he was a friend of ours!! I heard for days about how beautiful the ceremony was. His words perfectly captured our love story and I couldn’t imagine a better person to officiate our wedding. He is so well spoken, I honestly felt like he wasn’t reading from a script but from the heart. Bonus points- He also sent off our signed certificate for us while we were on our HM and even sent a tracking number! I would recommend him to anyone in a heart beat. His work is phenomenal because he loves what he does, and you can really see it.

Wonderful Experience with April!
I met April back in 2018 when I was in my friends bridal party and she was incredible. Fast forward to 2022 when I got engaged and I booked her immediately for my wedding at Fox Hollow. April happily legally married my fiancé and I in 2023, and then officiated my wedding on Friday, 5/31. She's full of amazing advice, a sweet demeanor, and even personally came up to us right after our ceremony to see how we were feeling. I can't recommend her enough!

Literally the best!
First and foremost I would like to mention that REV. Joe was ABSOLUTLEY INCREDIBLE. I can not say enough how enjoyable and memorable our ceremony was. So if all you read is these first 3 sentences, great, but if you have time read below.
So I found REV. Joe by posting on the Brides of Long Island (BOLI) facebook group. About 3 people had all recommended him from the many many recommendation's I received. I took a chance and reached out and was really impressed by the quick responses I got.
We quickly set a date for our first zoom meeting and it was just to get to know each other, set expectations, etc. After we secured our date, REV. Joe set up a more thorough appointment for us to chat. He spent at least an hour or so talking to us as a couple and then individually. With that he produced an incredible ceremony, with little details about each other that really wow'd our crowd.
I cannot mention enough that so many people thought that he had known us for a very long time, or that he was a friend. THAT IS HOW GOOD HE IS! And that really is the type of person Joe is. He is endearing, funny, humble and sincere that people generally gravitate toward what he is saying.
So with that being said, do yourself the BIGGEST FAVOR you can and book REV. Joe ASAP.

We ended up meeting Brenda and Joe at the Westbury Manor vendor showcase and immediately we got the feeling that we wanted one of them to be our officiant. We are so happy that we hired them for our wedding!
We ended up working with Brenda as our officiant, and even before the wedding we had a couple of meetings to help plan out the ceremony with her. She was incredibly thoughtful, kind and ended up crafting such a beautiful ceremony for the two of us. An Unforgettable Ceremony with Rev. Joe!
There are not enough words to express mine and my husbands gratitude for all that Reverend Joe did to make our wedding ceremony absolutely perfect. When we first spoke with Rev. Joe, we knew right away that he was a great fit for us given his ability to customize a ceremony as we are an interfaith couple (myself Catholic and my husband Muslim). After booking with him, we met up with Rev. Joe a few months prior to the wedding so that we could sit down and discuss our relationship and what we wanted out of our ceremony. Rev. Joe invited us to his home and we spent well over an hour chatting, crying, laughing and more - and left feeling like family and more confident than ever in our decision to book with him.
The ceremony Joe ultimately put together for our special day was deeply heartfelt and personal, and there was not a dry eye in the audience. Rev. Joe spoke as if he had known us for a lifetime, and had the perfect balance of touching sentiments as well as lightheartedness, fully capturing our guests.
After the ceremony, almost every single guest had asked us "Where did you find your officiant?! He was incredible!" Many guests told us that they never expected to cry, and were incredibly grateful they grabbed tissues as they were "definitely needed for that emotional rollercoaster."

Absolutely Amazing Experience
When I first started my wedding planning process I felt so incredibly lost and overwhelmed. The one thing that I noticed was consistent amongst my potential venues was their preferred vendor The Officiants at the Church of Ancient Ways. I called and had the pleasure of speaking with Aviva Sala, I knew immediately that she was going to bring exactly what I needed to my stressful day. She had a calmness about her, and she kept me laughing during our hour long phone call. She was able to provide me with all the information I needed, and her experience showed. My now husband and I were able to build a customized ceremony that spoke to who we are as a couple after meeting with Aviva. She was able to take our responses, and insights and create this amazing ceremony that not only our guests, and families adored, but that we loved as well. She kept it funny, and lighthearted, embracing my sweet nephews outbursts during my ceremony. I wish I could do this day over and over again, and work with Aviva again. Our officiant made our day feel absolutely perfect. Brenda did everything in her power to provide us with a ceremony that was not only meaningful to us, but one that was a mix of both English and Spanish for our whole family to enjoy and be a part of. she was so kind when getting to know us and our story and made us feel seen and heard rather than just another appointment. Absolutely Amazing! Brenda is the BEST!
We got married on 10.21.23. Minister Brenda Santana was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. She really took her time with us during our meetings and answered all of our questions in addition to really getting to know us. On the day of the wedding I (the bride) was on the brink of a panic attack shortly before the ceremony was due to start. I was feeling very overwhelmed after hours and hours of getting ready and dealing with family wedding drama. Minister Brenda was able to calm me down in a matter of minutes. She officiated the ceremony BEAUTIFULLY even with the windy weather conditions. Aside from her beaming personality, her writing skills are EXCEPTIONAL! Although I will probably never cross paths with her again, she has touched our lives and made an impression that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Brenda. I highly highly highly recommend her.

An amazing experience

The Best Experience!
We used Rev. Joe from Church of Ancient Ways for our wedding. From the start of working with Rev. Joe, he was enthusiastic for our special day and seemed as excited as we were. While we had an unorthodox ceremony that differed from the status quo, Rev. Joe was on board to the point of coming up with ideas that far exceeded our expectations. He was also able to add some traditional flare to appease our more traditional family. He was very responsive and we never waited long for an answer on any question or qualm that we had. Many of our guests spoke to the originality of our ceremony and raved about his presentation and delivery. My husband and I got married a few weeks ago and Brenda was our fantastic officiant! From start to finish, Brenda was always responsive and helpful. On the day of the wedding, she went through all the details with us and kept us at ease. There are not enough kind words I can say about April! From the first time we emailed her to our first zoom meeting, we knew she was the perfect fit for us. During our meeting my fiancé and I were just chit chatting about life and out of that conversation she was writing an amazing ceremony that completely described our life and love for one another. We love the beach and anything nautical and she fully incorporated that into the ceremony. This was a second wedding for the both of us and our children were our bridal party. She carved out a part of the ceremony to have them come over and hug and kiss us and spoke the kindest words about family. I can’t thank her enough for the beauty she added to our day! She personalized and put into words the most fabulous ceremony. The amount of people that came up to us and April after the ceremony to rave about it was unbelievable. They loved the way she came away from the altar and stood near the chairs to address the audience. Her words are just so comforting and relaxing. I could listen to her speak all day. Heartfelt wedding ceremony
Joe did a great job officiating a custom ceremony for our wedding. He took the time to meet with us and listen to our story, incorporate our edits to his speech, and work with our DJ on the audio setup. He took care to pronounce my Chinese name correctly. Wedding guests mentioned how they found him to be super engaging and funny but still heartfelt. Joe also guided us through the process of getting a license and even mailed the certificate himself once it was completed so that we didn’t have to worry about it.

Fantastic Experience!
We found Brenda through our venue, who recommended Church of Ancient ways for our ceremony. Since we had not heard of the organization before, we interviewed other officiants we found through the knot and wedding wire as well. Ultimately, we decided to go with Brenda after the interviews - she was friendly, knowledgable, and very flexible during our first phone conversation. Did not try to pressure us in any way, which we did feel from some of the other officiants elsewhere. We wanted a religious ceremony, as we were not able to marry in the church we had originally planned, and Brenda offered a multitude of options to make the ceremony mirror a blend of my catholic background, and my husbands methodist background. We also wanted to include a friend in our ceremony, and Brenda was very easy to work with in terms of options to incorporate a guest speaker in the ceremony. There was full transparency with the ceremony at every point - she shared a draft the week prior, we made changes to it, and on the day of, our ceremony was exactly what we pictured. On the day of, Brenda was great ! - she was on time, met with each of us to review beforehand, she coordinated with our DJ for music cues during the ceremony, was beyond professional, and made our day extra special. Would recommend to anyone looking for a custom ceremony, or a specific vision for their special day.
Afterward, the marriage license was waiting for us when we returned home from our honeymoon, and we had a beautiful book that she had prepared for us of our ceremony as a keepsake.

How long have you known Rev. Joe for?!
Reverend Joe is the cream of the crop when it comes to wedding officiants! He made a rather complex process seamless for us by providing guidance on the details nobody likes to think about (logistics on obtaining a license, name changes, etc.). In terms of the ceremony he operated a well oiled machine. He took detailed notes on our love story and created a beautiful script to make our ceremony extremely personal. Multiple guests came up to ask how long we had known Rev. Joe for and even asked for a copy of the script! Thankfully his laid back personality was also contagious to the crowd as he put them at ease after we experienced some logistical complexities and he had no qualms about starting a few minutes late. We would recommend Rev. Joe 10 times out of 10 and are so thankful that he made our ceremony so memorable!

He added religious elements to honor both of our families' Catholic traditions and, after a fun and insightful Zoom meeting to get to know us, wrote a perfectly personalized ceremony that told our story exactly as we wanted it—a seamless mix of humor and emotion. We got married on May 20th, 2023 at Swan lake golf course. Brenda Santana was our officiant from church for ancient ways. Brenda from the beginning was very kind, caring, and open to suggestions. We decided on a custom wedding ceremony and met with Brenda a couple of months before the wedding. She got to know us as a couple and gave us some homework to better understand our story. The day prior to the wedding she sent us the draft of the ceremony she would say and asked us if we would like to add/remove anything. We loved it and thought it was perfect. On our wedding day Brenda showed up early to have us sign the marriage license and told us exactly what to say/do during ceremony. Ultimately, Brenda did a beautiful ceremony that had both us and all our guests tearing up. Our families and friends loved the entire ceremony and they all said it was one of the most emotional wedding ceremonies they have been too. Our
families also loved that Brenda was bilingual in spanish and English and the ceremony flowed well. We would highly recommend Brenda for any wedding ceremony and she is truly amazing at what she does.

We used Aviva Sala as our officiant for our wedding on June 17th through the Church of Ancient Ways. It was a pretty hectic day for us due to the constant changes in the weather- pushing our ceremony back and forth between indoor and out. But, Avivas ability to adapt kept us calm and we knew we were in good hands! She allowed us to squeeze in the time to prep before the ceremony although we were already past schedule and make sure we knew what we were doing and saying. Her dialogue was so beautiful, we were so happy at the attention to detail she managed to retain while still giving us an efficient ceremony. We appreciate the fact that she gave us a copy for us to hold on to, so we have something to always look back on and remember the moment we officially became husband and wife. We’re truly honored that we were the most recent couple in my family to have Aviva as an officiant and we hope the tradition is able to continue on! She has married so many couples on my side of the family, so shes essentially part of it at this point. Our guests have been saying nothing but nice things about our ceremony, and that wouldn’t have been possible without Aviva. Rev joe is amazing
When we first met with rev joe on zoom we loved how easy he was to talk to , when we met in person to go over our ceremony I cannot describe how much it felt like he got us ,our whole meeting even felt like a blast from the past and brought my now husband and I even closer together because it reminded us of why we choose each other as life partners in the first place. So as far as the big day goes OMG , the ceremony was absolutely amazing, time stood still as rev joe spoke. The ceremony was so us which was important , it was also funny and emotional . I had so many friends/family telling us they cried and how amazing rev joe was… I can’t thank him enough for making our ceremony feel like how it was suppose to feel… but I’m going to anyway. THANK YOU REV JOE!

Amazing ceremony
Rev joe was an absolute pleasure to deal with during the entire process. The ceremony was better than I could’ve hoped for. He was funny when needed and delivered everything beautifully. He even had a tissue to sneak to me when I started tearing up!

Joe was our officiant at our wedding at the Inn at New Hyde Park
Rev. Joe Iadanza officiated our wedding and I am so glad he did! From the minute I reached out to him to the day of the wedding he was a pleasure to work with. We had an interview with him where he asked us questions about our relationship in order to personalize the script. Everything was so perfect and we had so many guests complimenting our ceremony on how personable and special it was Joe was simply the best!!

The Officiants at Church of Ancient Ways, Reverend Joe Iadanza
Our wedding on, May 28th, 2023 was officiated by Reverend Joe Iadanza, who impressed us from the start. Even during our initial phone call, his excellent speaking voice and positive energy made us feel at ease. He guided us through the process and provided helpful reminders leading up to the big day. On the day of the wedding, the ceremony was absolutely beautiful and flowed seamlessly. We received multiple compliments throughout the day on how lovely it was. We highly recommend Rev. Joe and Ancient Ways for anyone in need of an officiant for their wedding ceremony. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!

Family & Friends are still talking about the ceremony!
Reverend Joe did an incredible job! I was debating whether I should have the personalized ceremony and I am so glad I did. Reverend Joe truly captured us as a couple. Our family and friends would not stop talking about how personal the ceremony was. This was a special experience and I could not recommend Reverend Joe enough!!

Pastor April
Pastor April was so wonderful! After just minutes of meeting with her, my husband and I knew we wanted her to marry us! Pastor April spent hours with us, creating the most beautiful ceremony. Our guests were even asking us how many years we had known her because of how well she told our love story. She was flexible on our rainy wedding day, standing up on the alter with a smile on her face. Nearly every guest in attendance came up to us after the ceremony to tell us how wonderful they thought she was. We can’t even put into words how happy we are with Pastor April. She truly has a gift and she made our wedding ceremony so special. If you are looking for a meaningful ceremony that’s all about you and your partners love for each other, consider Pastor April!

Best ceremony ever
My husband and I got married on 3/24/23 and Rev. Joe officiated our wedding! From the moment we spoke to him on the phone for our initial meeting, we knew that we wanted him to be the person to marry us and we are so happy that we found him. We met with him a few months before the wedding and two days later he sent us a first (and final because it was so perfect) draft of our ceremony. I must have read it 100 times leading up to our wedding. Our guests are still talking about how great the ceremony was and it’s all thanks to Rev. Joe! If you’re looking for someone to officiate your wedding, reach out to him. You absolutely will not regret it!
