Amazing food and wonderful staff!

We hired Chill Catering for dinner at our wedding and we still haven't stopped getting compliments from guests about the food! Not only is their menu great for everyone, but Gary and his crew were absolutely wonderful to work with! We highly recommend Chill Catering for your event!

Great caterer for a big group

Chill catering catered my wedding in Portland Maine and it was fantastic! Their team (specifically Jessica) are so kind, friendly, and easy to work with. They were really flexible and helped me make a menu that fit all of my guests' needs. The food was so good that I had to come visit the Roundabout Diner after my wedding to have those steak tips again!

As the father to the groom, Chill Catering went beyond my expectations.

They were a first-rate catering company and would highly recommend. From presentation, the food and a fantastic staff. From the beginning till past the end of the wedding, their staff was always there for support.

Delicious Food and Friendly Staff!

Megan and her team were so helpful and friendly for our wedding!

5 Star Service and Food!

After previewing 3 other catering services we chose Chill for our buffet style wedding reception. But, we weren’t prepared for the wonderful “over the top” service, attention, flexibility, and extraordinary food! Our guests raved about being able to cut the moist chicken piccata with a fork while the steak tips and baked haddock were out of this world. Our requests for little extras were graciously met and Megan took a special interest in some surprise details. Our special day could not have turned out better thanks to everyone at Chill Catering!

The perfect backyard wedding caterer

We worked with Gary on catering our backyard wedding and he was beyond flexible with us throughout the entire process. We hired Chill Catering for both our wedding as well as post-wedding brunch and couldn't have been happier. Fan favorites included the Grilled Lobster Tails and the Brisket Hash for breakfast!

Great food and professional staff

We used Chill catering for our wedding in August 2020. Gary and the Chill catering staff were wonderful to work with. Guests still talk about the delicious food served from the appetizers to the entrees. The portions from the buffet were very generous and our guests loved having the option to try everything. The Chill Catering staff was extremely flexible, particularly as we faced many changes during the wedding planning process. The serving staff were organized and extremely professional - they worked very well with our the other venue staff to make for a smooth reception and dinner for our guests. We enjoyed working with Chill Catering and would do so again in a heartbeat.

Amazing food and customer service

Gary and his crew were absolutely amazing throughout our planning and the day of our wedding. We met with Gary for a tasting and he was so nice and funny! The food was SO good! We made a couple of changes to the menu up until the week prior to our wedding and he was super flexible. The day of, the staff were so nice! Our guests told us that the food was excellent!

Expectations exceeded!!!

Gary and the team at Chill Catering went above and beyond servicing our dinner needs for our wedding. We went in looking for a Buffett and came out with a five star meal with five star service. We fell in love with the menu at our tasting, and were blown away by Gary’s knowledge, advice, and expertise. There was no competition or second thoughts. Gary was responsive and flexible to our needs 100% of the way. The food was incredible and even better than we remembered. His team really represented the face of his business standards. Anyone who is looking for an effortless experience and a high class meal should look no further! The aromas of the delectable dining will fill the air at the wedding or event of your dreams like it did for us! We can’t thank Chill Catering enough for being a part of our special day and having a huge hand in making our dreams come true!

Great company and great food!

Gary and the rest of the Chill staff was great. We had a tasting early on in the process and after meeting with Gary, we knew it would be a breeze if we used Chill. We used a buffet to serve steak tips, chicken, potatoes, vegetables, salad, and corn bread. Everything was prepared just as ordered and served hot. The service staff was smiling and worked hard to make our event run smoothly. Highly recommend!

Amazing food and fantastic experience!

I picked Chill Catering for my wedding because I wanted exactly that - a chill and non-stressful event, and Gary delivered! Gary is amazing to work with and so much fun - he’s a great person and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He gave us awesome advice and made the day very special by being able to recreate my Dad’s peach French toast. His staff is just as amazing too! They were super attentive and kind to us. Everybody raved about the food and I was thrilled to have many days of leftovers. I highly recommend Chill Catering and would absolutely hire them again! In fact, we now go to the associated Round About diner - our new fave place to eat!

Would highly recommend!

My husband and I used chill catering for our wedding 10-20-2018. They were amazing to deal with. They answered all emails promptly, provided recommendations while also being flexible to our needs/wants. They solved all the last minute things that pop up with professionalism. We had the Chill catering at our wedding a few weeks ago. We have so many great things to say about Chill, I'm not sure where to begin. First, Gary was wonderful to work with leading up to the wedding. He helped us with picking our menu, working out the logistics of the cocktail hour and dinner at the venue, and figuring out our table setting and what we would need to rent for it. He almost always answered my emails within an hour. I had several phone calls with him leading up to the wedding and I always felt a hundred times better about the wedding after talking with him about any details I was worrying about. Second, the food itself was delicious. We had a BBQ buffet for dinner that was grilled on site and our guests are still talking about how good it was. Our personal favorite was the mac-n-cheese and steak tips (they basically melt in your mouth they're so tender!) but our guests have also been raving about the pulled pork and cornbread. Another great thing about Chill catering is that they were very accommodating of dietary restrictions and had a gluten-free crackers at the cocktail hour for the bruschetta and cheese and had gluten-free mac-n-cheese available at the dinner. The staff on the day of the wedding were great and everything ran smoothly because of their hard work. The buffet line was really fast and they cleared plates quickly afterward so people weren't stuck sitting at a table with dirty dishes. We're incredibly happy with every aspect of our experience with Chill catering and are SO glad we chose them for our wedding day!

Gary is awesome to work with and very easy going. My guests loved the food - cornbread in particular! He packaged up all leftovers nicely for us to have later which was a nice treat! Prior to the wedding, we met to review my original requests in which I then made some significant changes to it. Gary was incredibly flexible and offered great tips to help make the day great. He does a great job outlining the expectations which really makes the whole process so much easier. We would love to work with him again for another event!

We worked with Gary and his Team for our wedding in Sept 2016 at the Science Center. Gary was great to work with right from the start. He was very familiar with our venue and offered a lot of tips and suggestions throughout our planning process. Chill has a lot of menu options and a la carte options and can accommodate customizations. We offered a buffet at the wedding and he moved everyone through the line very quickly and efficiently. The food was hot and delicious. We got a lot of compliments from our guests. I would highly recommend them.

I cannot imagine our wedding day being any more perfect and Chill Catering definitely had a hand with that. Gary and his crew were so helpful leading up to the day and especially on the day of. When menu planning Gary was especially receptive to what we wanted for food and was able to accommodate us without any trouble. With reasonable prices and outstanding food, both my husband and I as well as our guests were extremely happy.

We recently used Chill to cater 2 events for my daughter's wedding weekend: wedding ceremony cocktails and appetizers for 23 on a Friday afternoon and reception cocktails and buffet dinner for 185 on Saturday evening. Our guests raved about the delicious food and exceptional service. Throughout the year long planning process Gary was available via email, telephone and meetings with suggestions and guidance. He and his staff were positive, helpful and patient. Chill was a great caterer to work with and we look forward to using them for future events.

GARY IS THE BEST!!! My family owns several restaurants, and I operate them! Basically...we KNOW FOOD and we know VALUE! GARY HAS THE BEST FOOD AND THE BEST VALUE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE!!!! We found him from wedding wire reviews, and quickly made an appointment with him. It is hard to find a talented chef that is so 'chill' ! Seriously, he is SOOO much fun (we were instant friends) and knows what he is doing. We had our reception on the beach at my parent's residence, and the SERVICE and QUALITY of the food was just perfect! I've never seen such an organized group of caterers in my life! Every single server had so much energy and were so smiley! There wasn't a dirty dish in sight, and the timing was spot on. HE EVEN BROUGHT IS OWN GRILL AND COOKED ON OUR PROPERTY! Talk about fresh! If you are looking for a caterer who actually CARES how your event turns out, look no further than Chill! I miss those guys already!!!

Wow! I used Chill Catering for my wedding and weeks later, my guests are still talking about the food! It was delicious! It is definitely the best food I've ever had at a wedding. I made sure to take the time to sit and eat it all before going to visit my guests! Gary was so great to work with. I didn't hire a wedding planner and he helped answer a lot of questions for me and gave me some great advice!

Gary and his staff are exactly what every catering team should be! Full of smiles, incredibly helpful and the food was amazing!! As an event coordinator I work with many catering teams and more often than not I walk away and think to myself why were they unfriendly, why did they not offer to help with this or that. It is hard to find service where people will go above and beyond and boy did this team do just that. Gary's team blew every other catering team I have worked with out of the water! I would be lucky to have the chance to work with them again! I would and will recommend them over and over again to every client I work with. Thank you all for your hard work. You are exceptional at what you do and it really showed!

Gary is absolutely wonderful. He didn't just go over the catering he went over the entire day from start to finish, and mentioned things that I would have never thought of on my own. He gave me awesome ideas to keep my guests entertained and was extremely helpful. The food is delicious and very affordable. I would highly recommend Chill Catering for any event!

Chill catered our wending and it was wonderful!! We had a barbecue buffet style dinner. The food was delicious, it was well organized and went smoothly! Staff were very kind and thought of all the little things ahead of time- so we didn't have to! Great value for the price!

We used Chill to cater our reception. Everything from the hors d'oeuvres to the smores bar was amazing! The service was outstanding! They even put together snacks on the fly when the groom had a hangry moment!

Gary is so organized and helpful. He has not catered our wedding (yet!) but just in the preliminary discussions/ tastings that we have had with Chill- his service and ideas are on point. He brought up details that hadn't even occurred to me but will definitely be crucial to address before our wedding day.

I really can't imagine going with another catering company other than Chill- thanks Gary for calming my wedding planning jitters and providing us with more than just menus to consider. Looking forward to hopefully having Chill be our wedding caterer!

We recently had Chill cater our wedding, and we had a great experience working with Gary and his team. Gary was so helpful in the planning process, not only with assisting us to develop a perfect menu within our budget, but with also giving us advice on other aspects of the day from the layout of our tent to the order of events at the reception. In addition, Gary was very knowledgeable about our venue, and offered up many suggestions and recommendations so that our guests would have the best experience possible. Throughout the entire process, Gary was very responsive to emails, and helpful when answering last minute questions. The day of our wedding, Gary’s staff was very professional and efficient, and of course the food was delicious. We can’t thank Gary and his team enough for all their hard work!

Gary & his team are INCREDIBLE! From our original inquiry to the end of our wedding night, Gary was on top of it. He had input and advice for more than just our catering. He helped us map out the flow of our wedding and the things that were important to us. He was easy to talk to and understanding, in terms of our budget. On the day of our wedding, he had his crew deliver food to the wedding party while we took pictures during cocktail hour... like I said, SO on top of it. His food was incredible and we never had to worry about the timing of anything. We had a buffet because of the size of our wedding and he has it so down to a science that everyone was plated within 30 minutes. Another local business worth supporting!

Chill catering was the caterer for my daughter's recent wedding. Her reception was in our back yard. Gary was wonderful to work with, his staff the day of the wedding were all professional and efficient!! The food was amazing! We had barbecue, including chicken, pulled pork, brisket and smoked sausage. Roasted potatoes, grilled vegetables and macaroni and cheese and corn bread. We received many compliments on the food!!! They even packaged our leftovers for us to keep! The Mediterranean display appetizer , baked Brie, clam chowder shooters and foul balls were all amazing. Delicious food that was plentiful, and a great staff is a winning combination that I would highly recommend!!

The entire staff of Chill was so amazing. We worked with Gary for over a year to design the perfect menu for both the rehearsal dinner and wedding. He was very flexible and had lots of ideas for both events. All of the guests loved the food and even had an auction for the last pieces of cornbread. I wish I had time to eat on either night, but the staff made sure I had a plate waiting for me after everything was over!! They were great and super professional!! I would highly recommend Chill for any event from your wedding to a family reunion!! Thank you Gary and your great team!!!

Chill catered my wedding on 10/04/14 and I couldn't be more pleased! Gary was so helpful in the planning process and a pleasure to work with. We got so many compliments from our guests on the amazing food that was served! The staff that worked the eve of my wedding were so personable, efficient & accommodating! The day was a bit of a blur, but I can't say enough about how sweet the ladies/girls working the event were any time that I interacted with them! We hired them to do our wedding and we're very pleased with their service. The food was great and all staff members were friendly and helpful. Tracy even made sure to bring hors d'oeuvres to the wedding party during the photo shoot. Gary was very responsive to phone calls and emails and ws very helpful in menu planning. The food was delicous, especially the corn bread. We got several compliments and would definitely use them again!

Chill Catering was awesome to work with! The staff was great during the planning phase as well as the actual event. The food was incredible!! So many of our guests commented on how good it was (we had a pig roast) and we got to take home tons of leftovers! Eating delicious leftovers for the week after our wedding just added to Chill's already amazing value. I only wish the cornbread didn't go so fast...

Gary was very helpful and had lots of advice for many different aspects of the wedding. He was so friendly and willing to help. His staff was also wonderful and I could not have been happier! Plus the food was amazing!

Gary is absolutely amazing. He was so helpful during the whole process of planning. All the waitstaff was awesome as well. They were so helpful, nice and relaxed. They did so much more for us than I anticipated. I will definitely use them in the future for any catering purposes!!

Gary and his crew at Chill catered my wedding last weekend and did the most amazing job. Gary was so helpful with planning the menu as well as lots of other great tips and advice for hosting a wedding. The food was beyond delicious and everyone was so happy to not have the usual boring wedding meal. The pulled pork was my personal favorite. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. The wrapped all the left overs nice and neatly and we enjoyed it for the rest of the weekend. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

My fiancee and I wanted to have a small rehearsal dinner catered at our home and met with Gary from Chill to work out the details. We were so impressed with his ideas, menus, and warmth that we decided to have Chill cater our wedding as well! The tastings for both the rehearsal dinner and wedding were amazing and there was so much flexibility in creating menus that fit both venues perfectly. Our rehearsal dinner was catered seamlessly, with Gary and his crew cooking on the deck and serving us BBQ. As for the wedding, Alanna from Chill flawlessly executed all of our plans, including having the bridal party served snacks during pictures, adding my last minute request for raspberries floating in the champagne, serving the flower girl chicken nuggets, and even having my grandmother served her dinner rather than going up to the buffet. I did not have to worry about anything on the day of the wedding because it all was perfect! Alanna handled everything very professionally and everyone at the wedding was impressed with the service. I am currently planning my husband's birthday party clambake with Chill, and am so happy that we have found such a wonderful caterer for our big events!

I cannot put into words how wonderful Gary and the rest of the Chill Catering staff are. We used Chill to catering for our September 2012 wedding and couldn't be happier. I have to say, we checked other caterers and I truly feel Chill was the best bang for the buck and the food was amazing. Our guests are still raving about it! I also took Gary's suggestion to do Smores over the fire pit at the end of the night, which was a great touch and very unique. Gary and the rest of the Chill staff are amazing to work with and I would recommend them to anyone. They made our day that much better.

We are SO glad we worked with Chill Catering. They did the catering and bar for our tent reception in an orchard; sort of an upscale BBQ. It was a complicated event to plan (plus, my now-husband and I were pretty high maintenance :) but Gary and his team were super responsive and helpful, and handled it all perfectly. Not only that, but we have gotten a TON of compliments from guests about how good the food was. The staff at the event could not have been nicer. And it was all very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend Chill Catering!

It was one of the best days of our lives AND Chill was great...
We worked very closely with Gary & Cindy and we can't say enough about both of them and the crew. The food was excelent and great service.

From the first contact with Chill Catering to the wedding day, everyone we were in contact with was very friendly, professional, easy to work with and very timely in their responsiveness. Every e-mail, phone call and change to the menu was responded to quickly and easily. The day of our wedding they came in, quickly set up and before we knew it we could smell the delicious aroma of the smoked pork and BBQ chicken. All of our guests have raved that the food was spectacular. We loved it so much that we froze the left overs and are still enjoying the food from our wedding day. We wish we could get married again just so we could have them cater it! There is not one bad thing I could say about this company. I highly recommend them!

Chill provided everything my husband and I could have wanted from a caterer. They were a joy to work with throughout the process.

So. We had an outdoor wedding, and we wanted to keep the atmosphere classy-casual. We spoke with a few other caterers around Portsmouth, but they didn't seem to understand what we were going for (maybe we didn't fully, either). We saw reviews for Chill, but were skeptical, since they're the same people that used to run the Muddy River Smokehouse. We love barbecue, but weren't sure we wanted to go whole hog for the wedding (bad joke). Still, we scheduled a tasting.

And were blown away. Alanna brought out tray after tray of delightful finger food (we didn't want a seated meal, only course after course of passed hors d'oeuvres). Barbecue, yes, but also vegetarian stuffed mushrooms, bacon-wrapped scallops, seared ahi tuna, delightful bruschetta, delicious clam chowder shooters, and more. They even prepared just for the tasting our specially requested dessert, a Thai-style fried banana.

Everything was delicious, and we had no hesitation about booking Chill for the wedding. Alanna was very responsive throughout the planning process. We had fun working with their beverage manager to design our drink menu and signature cocktails. On the day, Chill's staff went above and beyond. We've had nothing but unequivocal praise for the food and service from our guests.

I think the best thing about Chill is their menu's flexibility. They can do anything from a whole-pig barbecue buffet or New England clambake to full-service dinner of filet mignon and seared swordfish. Whatever you want, Chill will work with you to make it happen.

So, yes, choose Chill. They're awesome.

Chill catered my wedding on May 27th, 2012, and they were INCREDIBLE. They were so responsive and professional during the planning stages. Alanna, who was our contact person, seems to work contstantly, and she would respond to my emails 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
More importantly, the food was the best wedding food. EVER. My cousin, who is a caterer, stopped me during the wedding to gush about the food. Even though I was too nervous/busy to have any of it, our guest book is filled with comments about how awesome the food was ("I LOVE THIS CORNBREAD!"), and many people told me afterwards that the various items on the menu (roast beef, chicken, mac & cheese, various comfort foods) were the best they'd ever had. If you're looking for comfort food and are planning a seacoast area wedding, you HAVE to use Chill.

We just had our wedding this past weekend, and used Chill Catering for our buffet style dinner. The catering & bar staff was wonderful! Super friendly, helpful, and very attentive to me and my husband, as well as all of our guests. The nice woman (forget her name) that was "assigned" to make sure we got some snacks while away from cocktail hour was AMAZING! She not only made sure we were fed and had drinks, but she somehow managed to track us down in the huge mill building to make sure we got the food, and didn't need anymore drinks. The food was great, especially the cranberry stuffed chicken and the house-made salad dressing, and I really enjoyed working with the catering team of Gary & Alanna. They offered me their expertise, without being pushy. They even made special arrangements to ensure that me and my husband's favorite beverages were accounted for in the bar setup. Gary and the Team at Chill catered our rehearsal dinner for 30 people this past friday. We did a BBQ buffet with ribs, burgers, BBQ chicken, macaroni, potato salad, grilled vegetables, salad and cornbread. Quite the spread i know. Gary put a great menu together for us and the food was fabulous. People kept telling me how delicious it was, especially the cornbread (which i didnt try but numerous people said it was the best cornbread they had ever had). Im a rib guy so i dove into those and the burgers. They were great. Everything was very fresh and their team did a great job setting everything up. They even cleared out plates for us after we ate, then packaged all the leftovers up. Overall, it was exactly what we had hoped for and more, and i highly recommend them.

Our food was delicious and beyond affordable for our big day! We wanted a casual feel with comfort BBQ type food. Gary certainly delivered and all the guests were pleased. I was thrilled the next day when there was leftover mac & cheese which was divine. Gary really ensures that the bride & groom are taken care of the day of by ensuring they are delivered apps during photos and having folks check in on us.

The only complaint I would have is although I know they are quite busy - great food at amazing prices - I wish I wasn't told every time how busy they were. It would be nice to feel like you might be there only event that day! BUT - I do appreciate for how busy they are how quickly they respond and accommodated all requests.

The service the day of was great as well and they were very kind and sweet!

Chill Catering had the perfect selection for the backyard BBQ feel we were looking for. We chose to do a buffet style service with Grilled BBQ chicken and Pulled Pork with potato salad and grill veggies. All the food was delicious, the chicken was literally falling off the bone. Gary was great to work with. When he met with us he even talked us through the whole wedding day timeline, which was very helpful since we did not hire a wedding planner. We got a free taste test at the Round -A-Bout diner. They were also very flexible with us, you bought our own bread to make pulled pork sandwiches and they took care of putting it out and serving it. Our overall experience was great and we would definitely recommend them.
