A must hire!
If only every wedding could have a venue coordinator like Jillian! She made the planning and coordination process so easy for my couple, Trevor and Beth. From the very beginning, Jillian and her team were on top of everything — quick to respond, proactive in offering money-saving tips, and thoughtful in every detail. On the wedding day itself, the lead banquet captain ensured everything ran seamlessly, which allowed my couple (and me as their planner) to truly enjoy the celebration.
Chicago brides, look no further — this is one of the best destinations for a wedding! -

Excellent hotel for a hotel block
This was an excellent hotel to use as a wedding block for The Morton Arboretum. It was a courtesy block. The set up was easy and the staff communicative. Naperville Reception
The outdoor area across from the Naper Ballroom was great. Guests enjoyed the food. The location is easy to reach. The smaller ballroom was a great size for a 110 person reception. You receive a lot for what you pay.
The only odd thing is Marriott in general is stingy with points from events. That is a brand problem. The hotel did have bonus offers that led to more points than Marriott normally offers. -

Very personalized service
The coordinator and team went above and beyond to make sue we had everything we needed. We were doing a winter theme and they designed special center peices. My husband had a favorite soup that they duplicated the recipe for. We couldn't have had a better experience! -

The Perfect Day
Victoria and the entire Chicago Marriott Naperville team exceeded our expectations. Victoria went out of her way, added special touches, and stayed late for us to make sure everything was perfect.
The food was amazing and we got compliments on how well the ballroom was set up throughout the entire night.
We genuinely couldn’t imagine our Wedding anywhere else and we’re so glad to have picked this hotel for our venue!! Thank you Victoria for all of your efforts, we are so happy! #BestDayEver -

The Marriott in Naperville exceeded all our expectations. All of the staff was more than accommodating and friendly. The event space was BEAUTIFUL, the food was delicious and our guests have not stopped raving about how "top-notch" the Marriott was. There are no words that I can use to describe how incredibly amazing and helpful Kim was. She made our wedding UNFORGETTABLE. I am in the Army and was planning the entire wedding from out of state. I stumbled across Kim and this venue after I ran into some problems with my original venue. Kim was so kind and helped keep my nerves at bay. She was so accommodating when it came to the few times I was in town. She always made it a priority to see me. We had a totally customized menu for the wedding, and with Kim's help and in coordination with the chef, people are STILL talking about how amazing our wedding food was. Victoria and her team are amazing! They take care of ALL the details! The food and cake were excellent! Victoria put together a reasonable package for us for our wedding luncheon. Also we got a wedding block room rate for our guests that didn't break the bank! Beautiful, clean facility! We were in the Bailey Hobson room and had around 50 guests, the room size was perfect. I don't even know where to start! This team is a well-oiled machine and did an exceptional job executing our wedding! I can't praise Victoria, Sales/Catering Manager, enough for going above and beyond our expectations. Every detail was important and Victoria remained prompt, calm/collected through every addition, change, and question. If you're looking for a venue that will make your special day memorable and keep you worry free throughout the entire process, the Chicago Naperville Marriott is the place for you! If you book your wedding here you will not be disappointed. I have 3 daughters and this is my third wedding that I have planned. Victoria is one of the best coordinators I have ever come across. From the day I met her to the actual wedding day, Victoria was easy to reach. She came through on everything she said she would do. She made our wedding reception "flawless" . She was there on the day of to make sure the room was set up exactly how we planned. She introduced me to Flo, my contact for the dinner portion and she did her job well. The dinner was on schedule and plates came out hot. I received multiple compliments on the food. The servers were professional, dressed well and very accommodating to my guest.
Some of the guest stayed overnight at the hotel. I was so pleased how well they were treated. The front desk staff were very friendly and remembered to hand out our gift bags to each guest as they arrived.

Had an outstanding event. The Staff went above and beyond what was expected. If you are looking for a venue for your Wedding, definitely look into the Marriott. Booking Marriott in Naperville was the first and one of the BEST decisions we made for our wedding, and we visited like 10 places. Their packages START with a 5 hr package and name-brand liquor, chivari chairs, and that's rare. Victoria is a ROCK STAR wedding planner. She really wants your day to be successful and has the best suggestions to make tailored to you. I never worried, and she let me be as hands-off or hands-on as I wanted. She was quick to respond, customized the package to our budget, helped us pull off some nice projection of old photos and videos. I didn't even see the space until after my ceremony at Cantigny. I just dropped a bunch of boxes in her office and told her to get wild and lay it all out. And she did, and being in events myself, that was NOT easy, and I STILL had zero concerns because her quality of character and knowledge/creativity is masterful. The food was great (crab cakes =winner...dim sum appetizer, UM YEAH...), the cake was BELOVED by guests. They grow their own honey on the roof and make honeycake. I even sent a picture to Victoria of these fake tealights on drape for the head table backdrop, and we made it happen! Yes, Marriott is an awesome company, but it's really VICTORIA you're getting...and she's worth every dang penny. The front desk needs some help...they dropped the ball on our room block rate a few times when our guests tried to reserve, and although our wedding party was promised to surround the hospitality suite we got, there were random guests next door who ended up giving us a noise complaint. But they let us party in the lobby until 3AM, so it wasn't bad. ;) MINOR details. Did I mention Marriott is now the largest hotel chain and you'll get major travel points? That was a perk we didn't think about until we booked. We had a southwest card, and since marriott's a partner....our venue bill got us double points. We have like 4 roundtrips now. AND you get 50,000 marriott points. If you do it right, a chunk of your honey -

Very happy we picked the Marriott Naperville to have our wedding reception at. Victoria was super quick about getting back to us about any questions we came up with. She was always very prepared when meeting with her. The hotel is beautiful and everyone is very helpful. The night ran very smoothly and the food was AMAZING!!!! Everyone I have talked to since our wedding has gone on about how delicious the food was! The chef even made a special layer of the cake for my diabetic husband. We had an excellent experience with the Chicago Marriott Naperville for our wedding guest room block. Terah was knowledgeable, kind and proactive in communication leading up to our wedding weekend. We spent over a year planning our wedding at the Marriott. Kyra and then Victoria were so helpful and always put me at ease. My questions were always answered quickly and I always felt taken care of. The day of our wedding was perfect and the Naper ballroom was set up so beautifully by their team. We were so grateful for how well we were taken care of and our needs were met. Even little things were taken care of like putting our flutes and cake cutters back in their boxes and putting our floral pieces all on a cart for us really meant a lot, and meant we didn't have to worry about it at the end of the night. Victoria even offered to take our card box and presents up to our room during the reception, another thing we didn't have to worry about. It was a perfect evening. We had our wedding reception at the Marriott on 9/26/15 and everything was just perfect! Victoria Schultz and the Marriott staff are amazing and delivered an even-better version of the wedding reception I had planned in my head. They made everything easy every step of the way. Before we booked the event, they were helpful, responsive, and flexible. Throughout the planning, they were organized, creative, and conscious of my budget. Victoria, our wedding coordinator, took wonderful care of us. She really went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding day went off without a hitch. From the moment we first met her, until the moment we hugged her goodnight on our wedding day, she did everything in her power to make sure we were happy with everything. We can't thank her enough. In addition to having such a wonderful wedding coordinator, the venue itself is beautiful. The main ballroom is spacious and hotel's recent renovations are amazing. The lobby is really breath-taking. Lots of areas to take photos, from the orange diner style bar to the wall of suite cases. this was the only venue I looked at when planning my wedding, and I could not have made a better choice. Victoria Schultz, the event coordinator at the Marriott, made wedding planning a breeze. She responded promptly to emails, and knew the answers to any questions. Our ceremony and reception were all at the hotel and honestly could not have gone better! -

Kyra and Terah and their entire staff did a fantastic job for my son's wedding. We had close to 270 guests in the main ballroom and the staff was remarkable. Kyra and Terah were on top of every detail yet continuing to keep it relaxed and fun. The ceremony was held at the venue prior to dinner and even that room was romantic and special. Our guests only had great comments to make in regards to the quality of the food, the service provided and the atmosphere.

Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, particularly if you have never planned to do something like this. Kyra said in the beginning that when the wedding day arrived, I would be able to be a guest at the event and she and the staff would do the worrying. This proved to be a true fact, making the day most enjoyable for everyone. Kyra was a great resource for make-up, flowers, last minute videographers, DJ and limo drivers. These people proved to be a good fit for our needs. We never met a person in the organization that did not go out of their way to help when we needed it. -

Our wedding was beautiful perfect amazing and more. Kyra made this a simple process. I was worried about making our day perfect, but had no idea how... Kyra helped us set up the room, go through colors and created a fantastic event. Our guests were impressed and nearly a month later are still talking about our "great party"
The staff at our event were super responsive at the event, and made it fun. If you get married in this area, this is a great place.

Of all the difficult and time consuming decisions associated with our wedding the choice of venue was one of the most difficult. That said, choosing the Chicago Marriott in Naperville was the best decision we made. Kyra was fabulous! The hotel is very lucky to have her! She was attentive, thorough, responsive and extremely accommodating. The treatment the entire staff gave not only my husband, and me but our entire family as well, was unparalleled. (And this started from day one of us meeting through the many months that followed.) The hotel surpassed our expectations (and let me add, I was not the easy/laid back client). I cannot say enough good things about Kyra and her ability to take the time to know her clients and their needs. Again, best decision we made and Kyra deserves a raise! -

The Chicago Marriott of Naperville is an outstanding place to hold any reception. The food was delicious. The event coordinator (Kyra) was amazing. She called and emailed me to see if I needed anything. Plans were executed exactly as we hoped. One slight mishap (not the fault of the staff) was that the chair covers didn't fit on the chairs, but the event staff quickly resolved this by replacing the chair covers before the actual reception doors opened. The cake was made exactly the way our photo detailed. The rooms were also immaculate for our guests staying there and the front desk was great! Everything was great!!! -

We stayed at the Naperville Marriott last June after our wedding along with some of our guests. It was newly remodeled and absolutely beautiful! The accommodations were spectacular. The rooms were spacious and the lobby and sitting/bar area was perfect for relaxing with our guests for the evening. We also used the shuttle service to and from the hotel for the wedding/reception which was great especially for the out of town guests. The service from the front desk, the bar, and the restaurant was excellent. -

We are so happy that we decided to have our wedding reception at the Chicago Marriott Naperville. From our intial meeting to our wedding day, everything was very professional yet warm and welcoming. Victoria Schultz was so amazing!!! Our wedding would not have been as organized and special without her. She was so accommodating and made sure everything was in place; I never felt I needed to worry. Even down to planning a surpirse groom's cake! She really was an important asset to our wedding day. The facility was beautiful and all the staff was so polite and nice. Sandra and Jamie were also a great help on the wedding day. Sandra made sure to check in on us to make sure everything was going well during the reception...even down to the temperature of the room! The bartenders were great (I didn't catch their names) but after asking the bartender once for a drink, the rest of the night I would just start to walk towards him and he would have my drink ready and waiting!!! The chef even came out to congratulate us and make sure everything was as we wished. The appetizers were a big hit among guests. We had the fig and blue cheese flatbread and the buffalo chicken spring rolls. As our entree choices, we had the honey citrus chicken and the vegetable lasagna. The lasagna was quite popular among the guests. Our cake was amazing! We were able to choose 3 different flavors and a 4th in the grooms cake. My personal favorite was the honey cake! The only minor complaint was that some guests reported the chicken was a little dry. With that said, if I had to plan my wedding all over again, I would absolutly choose the Chicago Marriott Naperville. We used this as our reception venue only, and our sales and catering manager was Victoria. She is AMAZING! We can't say enough about her!! She was very helpful and patient with us through every step of the planning process. The chefs were also great about changing up the menu (with items that they didn't have listed in their standard menu) per our requests. We appreciated this as we anticipated more of a challenge to do so, but we were pleasantly surprised and happy that we could keep everything within our Italian/wine theme. For the area, the value was pretty good when comparing to others. There are also some fun photo locations within the hotel, so although not part of the rating criteria, it's an added bonus.
I think it's worth noting that the hotel (not the sales/catering team) did have some challenges for us and our guests in terms of booking under room block, and also with any requests from guests in rooms (towels, maintenance, etc). These were pretty minor and Victoria was able to help with some of the booking issues. Overall, HIGHLY recommend this venue especially if Victoria is helping you!Chicago Marriott Naperville's reply:

We hosted our wedding and reception at this location. Our total guest number was ~50, we were able to have out ceremony outside on the patio and have a beautiful reception indoors. It rained up until about 30 minutes before the ceremony so naturally I as the bride was freaking out (totally unforecasted), the Marriott staff set up a backup room inside, but were able to set up everything outside in time for my outside wedding that I have always wanted. The wedding planner is so great, especially the day of. We were able to customize a wedding package to fit our budget. Wonderful venue! -

I have to first say that I booked this place a month before our wedding due to issues with the last venue. With that said...the value was impeccable and the service was amazing. Kyra and the rest of the workers at the Marriott made our wedding night completely stress free - even including a night at the hotel for us.
I can not thank them enough for how awesome they did. Everything was beautiful, nothing was delayed, and we even had the day prior to set everything up ourselves (which we wanted to do).
If you are in the Chicagoland area you will not regret putting your money towards this venue! It is no typical hotel "wedding" reception. It is like being at an actual banquet hall - just beautiful! -

Please do not count out the Marriott due to all angry reviews regarding Melissa, who was fired the week of our wedding (10/20/2012). With that being said, here's my story about the Marriott...
We had a HORRIBLE experience with Melissa, and she was as pathetic as all the other reviews have said. We received a call from the hotel the Monday before my Saturday wedding saying she had been sacked, and she took ALL of the notes on our event with her. We immediately went in and worked with Kim, who helped us start at square one to plan our event.
Kim is amazing. She has incredible attention to detail and lots of great ideas. It was so relieving to work with her instead of Melissa, but also heartbreaking that we weren't working with her the entire time.
The chef at the Marriott made HUGE accommodations and made our entire menu gluten-free (groom has allergy), and made special options for him for appetizers that couldn't be made GF. He also makes a special effort to use locally grown ingredients. Their preferred cake vendor (The Cakery) is incredible, and you can have a beautifully designed cake without having to upcharge. Also, the basic package linens and such are gorgeous and again, you dont need upgrading any of the basic room items to have a gorgeous space.
They also worked with us to host a breakfast buffet the next morning, since we had almost all out of town guests at our 185 person event, and rented 40+ rooms at the hotel. Our guests loved this! Our hotel guests had only incredibly high regards for the hotel, the staff, and the event. Kim was my wedding fairy godmother!
I would whole-heartedly recommend the New, Post-Melissa era at the Marriott. Tell them Katy (Reising) Sakats sent you! -

We used this hotel for our block only (not for reception). While it was a beautiful place for our guests to stay, a convenient location, and we liked that there was a bar open to go to after the reception, the service itself was subpar. We may have just come in at a bad time, but there were 2 turnovers of who we worked with on the events team within the 8 months that we were booked with them. The actual people were very nice, but we had 3 separate occurrences of technical difficulties with the block website (it was telling people that there were no rooms left so they were panicking, when actually there were A LOT and we needed to hit a certain number of rooms in order to not get charged), and by the end we were so sick of hearing about issues with their system. It all turned out fine in the end, but it created a lot more work for my family and I. The day after brunch was pretty and the room we had was spacious and private. -

The only reason that I gave the Quality of Service a 4 was because the hotel is beautiful and the food at the wedding was really good.
Other then that the girl "Melissa" that they hooked us up with to be our wedding coordinator was HORRIBLE, It took her days and weeks to respond to questions that we had, after complaining about her and saying we didn't want her anymore they let her stay with us, it wasn't until 2-3 WEEKS before our wedding that they finally stepped up and did their job. They told us it was genuine and not a "reaction" to us calling corporate on them. REALLY? how dumb do we look? It's unfortunate that it took us to go to those lengths for them to finally give us the service that we deserved. Hell 2 weeks before they had the menu all wrong and didn't know our wine selection. It was like the tasting we did didn't exist and they were just picking stuff. While I'm sure wedding planning is stressful at times I think these guys made it over the top for us.
If you want a beautiful wedding and have A LOT of money to spend, this is your place...just beware that you will have to do the wedding coordination yourself and deal with not knowing if anything is actually being done on their end. Who knows maybe they will learn their lesson after our wedding or maybe they will fire Melissa and hire people that want to help people get married, because as beautiful as it was, it definitely wasn't worth the hassle. -
