Cheryl is an exceptional seamstress. She did a fantastic job catering my dress to my specific body and she is also very nice, friendly and personable, which makes a difference in the whole alterations experience. I also deeply appreciated her flexibility, as she allowed me to come into her studio on a day she normally was not open so that I could pick up my dress and drive down to New Jersey, where my wedding was. Would highly recommend her! -

I truly could not be happier that I was lucky enough to work with Cheryl in the lead-up to my wedding! I bought my wedding dress and immediately felt panicked because I had a) never bought a wedding dress before, b) had never brought anything to a seamstress before, and c) had no idea what I was doing. Cheryl not only calmed my nerves but made me giggle from day one of communicating with her! It was so easy to feel comfortable with her and trust her expertise, especially because her vision for the dress aligned with my vision right away. Even when I was unsure of what to do, she was able to give helpful professional advice while also fully respecting my choices for my dress. It was so nice to work with someone so talented who immediately felt like a friend, and her work truly is incredible. Thank you again Cheryl for such a wonderful experience ❤️ -

Cheryl is the most incredible human and saved my wedding day. She is the sweetest, most kind soul. She has a calming presence that made my meetings with her feel like wedding planning therapy. She always made me feel comfortable and beautiful. My wedding dress was purchased months before my wedding but the bridal salon made an error and ordered wrong size. I was distraught and had no idea what to do as I didn’t have time to purchase a new size dress. Cheryl helped me purchase additional fabric from the designer and she took apart reconstructed the ENTIRE dress. She changed out the entire front panel, re-worked the back of the dress to change the style of it and added a belt. I was and still am so obsessed with my dress. It fit like a glove and I’ve never felt more beautiful. None of this would have happened without Cheryl. I owe her more than I can express. She is the most talented seamstress I have ever encountered. Thank you SO much Cheryl. You saved my wedding ❤️ -

Working with Cheryl for my May wedding was fantastic and I highly recommend her!
I reached out to Cheryl after receiving her name from a family friend recommendation for a ballpark quote with a picture of my dress, and was pleased with her fair quote after receiving a few others that were several hundred dollars more. She was prideful in her fair prices and her many years of experience.
After putting down a deposit, I had my 3 fitting appointments (initial fitting, second fitting and final fitting). At each appointment, Cheryl was helpful and prompt in listening to my needs and concerns, and had some stellar suggestions including a beautiful bustle that was not shown to me as an option when purchasing my dress.
Overall, I was very happy with the quality of alterations and fair pricing Cheryl provided, and felt beautiful in my dress. I highly recommend her! -

Cheryl was the best thing that ever happened to me while planning my wedding! I bought my dress at Boutique Leslie Bridal in Dover, NH and she was recommended through them as a seamstress. She took my dress and COMPLETELY transformed it into my dream dress! She added all lace and skin colored fabric on the top half of the back (I wasn't comfortable with the openess), added sleeves, let things in and out where needed, hemmed the bottom because I'm on the shorter side. She blew me away and made me feel beautiful. I highly recommend her to any bride and I will be returning to her to alter some bridesmaids dresses! -

Cheryl took on both my mother and I in the midst of a busy wedding season. My dress had to be taken in twice and Cheryl was so gracious in her demeanor. Her work speaks for itself. My dress was flawless and fit even better than it did the day I tried it on and decided it was the one. It was an elegant but simple dress that, with Cheryl's help, made it absolutely timeless. Highly recommend! -

Cheryl is absolutely incredible. When I first brought my wedding dress to her, I'd lost 3 inches in my waist since I ordered it. Needless to say it was HUGE and Cheryl had her work cut out for her. I went back for another fitting and lost another 2 inches. With a smile on her face the entire time, she congratulated me on achieving my weight loss goals and made adjustments. Never could I have worked with a better seamstress for the most important dress of my life. It fit like a glove flawlessly and I couldn't be more grateful! THANK YOU, CHERYL!! -

I can't thank Cheryl enough for the beautiful work she did to my wedding dress! She fitted it perfectly to my body and even styled it exactly how I wanted it. At my request, she completely transformed the back of the dress into a v-neck/scoop back and it honestly looked like that was how the designer of the dress meant for it to be all along! Cheryl made the whole fitting process so fun and easy and I highly recommend her to all brides - she is seriously the best! -

She worked magic on my gown and made it fit me better than I ever could have imagined. She is extremely reasonably priced. She is sweet, professional, courteous and was always on time. Melissa Sent on 05/29/2015Cheryl is an awesome seamstress. She did my alterations during prom season and she was super busy with all the other clients!! She finished my dress in a timely manner. I love how my dress turned out! ( I haven't picked it up yet) but it was perfect at my last fitting. My dress didn't need a lot of alterations but it is covered in lace and beads and she did a wonderful job!
She is now located at Love Affair in Portsmouth, NH and she was very good at returning my calls and getting ahold of me when we had some scheduling conflicts. I would definitely recommend her.

Emily Sent on 04/29/2018Seamstress Cheryl Jackson along with her daughter make a great team! They are not only professional but are very friendly and welcoming. From the first phone call, Cheryl explained to me the whole process. I was scheduled right away for visits leading to my wedding. My mom insisted she come along and Cheryl was patient with all her many….. many…. and sometimes repetitive questions. Mom was great to have there since she pointed out the scruntching that was happening along my hips. Looking back on my wedding photos we did not actually successfully reduce the scruntching around my hips I suspect it was slightly too tight. I accidentally stepped on my veil and ripped a whole, Cheryl very calmly noticed it was towards the outer edge and she could simply trim it! My savior! Her studio is open, modern, and very clean. On the day I picked up my dress Cheryl and her daughter made sure I had a video of “how to tie the bustle” since my mother and matron of honor were not able to attend. Cheryl sewed in clear plastic under my straps and bodest beading, which significantly reduced the redness and irritation on my chest and shoulders. . Overall I was very please and I would recommend Cheryl to anyone and everyone.

Boy am I happy that I found Cheryl to alter my wedding dress. She is incredible. I was originally set to be married May 2020. Cheryl was accommodating through many postponements and I finally got married in August 2021. One of the alterations I knew going in that I would need was having my dress hemmed. Cheryl went above and beyond. She removed all of the floral appliqués at the bottom of my dress and then reattached them after hemming so that I didn't lose any of the detail at the bottom when shortening. I can't even imagine how much time must've gone into doing that. On top of that she also made some cute hairpins for me out of some of the extra appliqués. She also added cups in the bust and did the most perfect bustle I have ever seen. All of this work and at an extremely affordable price. She also was great fitting in my mom's dress. I am so happy with how my gown turned out and I would highly recommend Cheryl to anyone needing their wedding gown altered. -

Amazing work!
I always liked how my wedding dress fit, but Cheryl was able to make small adjustments to make the dress fit perfectly and make me feel stunning. She had great knowledge of different fabrics and suggestions based on my curvy body-type. Cheryl had great flexibility scheduling my appointments as I had just moved to San Diego. I cannot thank her enough for the amazing work she did. -
