Beautiful Makeup

Cheryl and her team were absolutely perfect. The make up was so beautiful. It was long lasting, stayed on all night. The lashes started to come off toward the ending of the end of the night and the lipstick didnt last too long but she did give a make up kit to touch up on. Which I forgot about. I cried like a baby the whole day/night and my make up didnt budge. My hair stayed perfectly throughout the whole night. Sadly my hair wasnt as long as I wanted it to be for my wedding so I bought hair extensions which cheryl placed beautifully in my hair and made my hair my dream hair style. Cheryl's team were so professional in doing my bridal team beautiful. They did my sister, my mom, my niece, maid of honor, and bridesmaids hair and make up. They looked so damn beautiful. Ipo was very professional in communicating with me. She replied to all my texts, emails, and questions. They arrived on time and did everything within a timely manner. Cherbu even placed my veil and tiara for me. I would definitely hire and recommend cherbu and her team for any other event.

Excellent HMU team for wedding - everyone looked amazing!

I couldn't believe how beautiful everyone looked! Cheryl did my hair and makeup and was phenomenal. Ipo was amazing to interact with leading up to my wedding. The other 2 stylists were also incredible. Just incredibly talented, sweet, kind people. They were also super efficient. Absolutely loved their service and highly recommend them!

Amazing and kind

Cheryl is an absolute gem and an expert at what she does. I could not believe I was lucky enough to secure her to do my hair and makeup for my wedding. I can honestly say I have never felt more beautiful in my life as on that day. I came to Honolulu from Canada and chose Cheryl just from her amazing pictures online. I got a trial two days before the wedding at Cheryl's in home studio. She was so sweet and welcoming and I felt totally comfortable and confident with her on my wedding day. She is professional, friendly, made everyone in my party feel at ease and most importantly, she is right on time which is so essential when you have a tight timeline. I wish I could have Cheryl do my hair and makeup for all of the events in my life and I hope that I will return to Honolulu and see her again!

Best Hair & Makeup Artists in Oahu!

Cheryl & her makeup team were my first and only choice when it came to booking hair and makeup for my wedding. I had been in contact with them for the 2 years of planning. Ipo handled every single e-mail and question I asked and she was amazing.

I was able to schedule a hair & makeup trial the day before my wedding & I’m so glad I did because I was initially going to go into HMU the day of my wedding blind and not knowing what I wanted.

During my HMU trial, Cheryl made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. She has such a vivid and fun personality! The way we talked made me feel like I had known her for years already or she was like my “ate” (“big sister” in Tagalog)!
I also normally freak out when anyone comes at my eyes with anything and for some reason, I didn’t freak out at all. ESPECIALLY when it came to applying the lashes. She was SO quick with it I didn’t even have time to freak out.

The day of my wedding, Cheryl, Ipo, & Crystal came on time and got all of us (7 in total) done in a systematic fashion. They were all so funny and that helped me calm my nerves. I was SO happy with my hair & makeup. My makeup felt so light and stayed on through all the crying and sweating I did and she even provided me with a touchup kit! My hair did frizz up, but that’s just my hair and even the strongest spray couldn’t stop my hair from frizzing LOL. But everyone looked perfect. No one’s makeup was too heavy or too light.

Also, they were able to send another MUA to another hotel where I had 3 other family members requiring HMU.

Cheryl & her team listen to you and don’t try to force more makeup on you if you don’t want it. They provide their opinions and you can basically tell them yes/no!

They are all so amazing and I would 100% recommend Cheryl & her team for anyone needed HMU services.

She's amazing!

I am so happy that I chose Cheryl and her team to do our hair and makeup! They are hands down the best at what they do! She is SO nice and down-to-earth and really made me feel beautiful on my wedding day. My makeup and hair stayed intact and looked great throughout the whole day! She also gave me a touch-up kit, which really helped in between all the snacks (and drinks) we had throughout the day. Cheryl and her team also did makeup and hair for my 6 bridesmaids, my mom, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law and they all loved it! They also were very professional and had everyone's makeup and hair done on time, actually even a little early so we could sneak in a few more minutes of picture taking! I would 100% recommend Cheryl and her team to anyone!

Fantastic Wedding Day Hair and Makeup

Cheryl is a masterful makeup artist and hair stylist! I was blown away by the look she created for me! My makeup was subtle as I had requested, but accentuated my features beautifully. And my hair! Wow, I didn't know my hair could look like that. If you have curly hair, I would definitely recommend Cheryl as she knows how to handle curly/ethnic hair. My mother and sister had their hair done by Cheryl's assistant and makeup done by Cheryl and were very pleased with the outcome. As was my partner's daughter, age 11, who had light make-up applied and her hair styled into beach waves. I can't say enough about Cheryl's professionalism and warm personality. It was a wonderful experience working with her, including the trial session in her studio with the amazing views of Waikiki!

So fun and professional!

Destination Wedding: 10/4/18
Venue: Haiku Gardens, Kaneohe

As with everything else for our wedding, I (bride) waited until about 4-6 weeks out to seriously look into vendors. How I was lucky enough to secure Cheryl for our wedding day, I'll never know!

Closer to our day, Ipo, a member of her team sent me the timeline for our day of. Prior to our day of, they were so accommodating to some schedule changes at the request of my videographer. Due to our ceremony starting earlier in the morning, Cheryl and her team needed to plan for a 4:45am start (yikes, sorry!). They arrived exactly on time to set up and get started. Everyone was so professional, kind, funny, and easy to talk to. Cheryl gave me the fishtail half up-do of my pinterest dreams!

I did not do a trial as there was not enough time between us flying in from Denver and the wedding day. However, I wasn't worried in the slightest bit. I think the most important thing is that she and her team listened to my/bridesmaids' request when it came to makeup and hair. I told my bridesmaids to pick a hair/makeup look that would make them feel most comfortable and beautiful. We all had some inspo pictures ready and all the looks were achieved.

I would highly recommend Cheryl and her team! My makeup itself lasted the best it could through the heavy humidity that day, my sweaty dancing, and the endless amount of tears. I should also note, my skin already is oily/combination and was in crazy oil production with the fast climate change. The only items that faded were lip product (eating, drinking), and bottom lash shadow (crying...lots of crying...all day).

Thank you Cheryl, you were a dream!

I cannot express in words how absolutely INCREDIBLE Cheryl and her staff are. Not only is she extremely personable and goes above and beyond to make all of her clients feel special, beautiful, and valued, but she is the epitome of a professional and thorough. Cheryl is probably the happiest person I have ever met on the island. She is so fun loving, HILARIOUS and just full of joy! Girl can talk about anything esp make up (of course). I love her! Aside from her awesome personality, her make up is ON POINT. She knows her make up and will know your face. The trial of my hair and make up looked better than on my wedding day but it was still amazing and stayed on ALL DAY. This girl slays and you won't regret booking with her! :)

I recently had the pleasure of having Cheryl and her awesome team be my make up and hair stylists for my wedding and I was (and still am!) absolutely thrilled with their work!

I booked everything from Australia for my destination wedding in Hawaii.
I had read the amazing reviews of Cheryl and knew I needed to have her for my wedding!!
Cheryl super exceeded my already high expectations and I cannot recommendation her highly enough!!

From my many many emails back and forth with her awesome team member Ipo, through the the trial and then to wedding day, I was completely looked after - they really make your feel like a priority and nothing was ever too much trouble.

Seriously, you NEED to book Cheryl for your hair and make up - what she created for me was beyond what I could have imagined - I had my vision of what I was after and she absolutely nailed it to perfection!! my hair and make up looks PERFECT in every single photo from my wedding and I felt amazing!!!!

Cheryl was out of town for my wedding day, but she sent over one of her top notch stylists in her place. Leesa nailed down the exact look that I wanted for my wedding day and you could tell that she knew exactly what she was doing. She was speedy but professional the entire time. My hair and makeup held up the entire day (we had an outdoor ceremony and 2 hours of photos before dinner). I highly recommend this team! They know how to make you look great!

Cheryl and her team were AMAZING!!!! She was open to suggestions for makeup and hairstyles from my bridesmaids and helped make each of them feel beautiful and comfortable. She did an excellent job with my hair, and especially the makeup which held on through all of my tears the entire night! We spent a lot of time laughing together getting the pre-wedding jitters out! I love Cheryl! She created a look I adored, took great care of me, and did it all with aloha and a smile. We had a great time chatting at my trial session; she is very easy to talk to!
Over the months leading up to the wedding, I changed my mind about exactly which services we would be purchasing from her a few times, and each time Cheryl or her assistant were quick to make changes to the invoice and make sure everything was up-to-date and accurate.
On the day of the wedding, Cheryl arrived promptly, was very communicative, and finished hair/makeup in good time so we could comfortably follow our schedule. It was so smooth!

CHERYL IS A MAKEUP MASTER!!!! Hands down, the most skilled and knowledgeable makeup artist I've ever worked with!

We first met when I scheduled my trial session back in July. Her studio is so modern and sophisticated. I felt like an A-list celebrity about to be glammed up for some special event! She showed me her look book for both hair and makeup and after some time, I told her I couldn't decide between 2 different makeup looks. She then showed me which look she had in mind for me, and to my surprise it was one of the looks I was deciding between.

When she finished, she took photos and asked for my opinion. I told her my preferences and right away she made the changes and jotted them down in her notes.

On my wedding day, she and her assistant Crystal were early to arrive. They had their area set up and ready to go before the scheduled time she gave to me prior. Cheryl has such a easy going, loving personality, so it's almost as if your bff is doing your makeup. The conversations are fun, and she makes it such a relaxing experience! We were running a little behind schedule, which Cheryl kindly let me know, but she assured me that everything would be back on track in about 10 minutes. I was able to get dressed, sneak in a few photos, and leave for my ceremony venue on time.

Cheryl made me feel like a queen on my wedding day. I've honestly never felt so beautiful and all credit goes to her and her amazing talent!

(*also side note: her personal cosmetics line is crazy good! I've bought a few products already and I absolutely love them.)

Words cannot express how incredible happy I was with my makeup and hair and my bridesmaids makeup! Cheryl and her partner (which I'm horrible I forgot her name) went above and beyond and I looked like an absolute princess! The price was very reasonable compared to other vendors our there and she came all the way to aulani at 5am to begin my makeup! She was absolutely amazing and I would recommend her for every wedding out there in Hawaii!

Cheryl is LEGIT! A true artist and super sweet and chill. For brides that are type A like me, she will be your perfect vendor. She is super responsive and organized. Every time I emailed her, I would get a response by the next day. She's also very proactive. We went back a week early to start finalizing things for the wedding and she texted me to remind me of my trial makeup session with her (with directions and instructions). She's so easy-going and receptive to any changes you want, what you want is what you get. She's proactive in texting you the day of the wedding to let you know where she is (ie. if she's on her way, etc) and she was on time and professional. I received LOTS of compliments on how beautiful I looked that day (thanks Cheryl!) and my bridesmaids all loved their makeup that day as well. No drama, no fuss.

Cheryl was the first hair and makeup vender to respond to my inquiry when I got engaged. To me, an immediate and detailed response to my email is a huge sign of professionalism. I decided to do a trial hair and makeup session with Cheryl first to see what I’d look like on the big day. It was such a positive experience to meet her at her studio and go through her look books together. Cheryl 100% listens to you and what you want to look like on your day, but also guides you with gentle suggestions if you are unsure.

She and her assistant Crystal were kind enough to drive out to my mom’s house to do our hair and makeup for my wedding day. She is so easy to talk to that I felt as if I’ve known her for years. You can tell how much Cheryl loves her job through her constant optimism. She is beyond supportive of her client’s needs and makes sure that everything is picture perfect before you walk out the door.

If you’re lucky enough to be getting married on a day that Cheryl is available, make sure to book her asap. You won’t regret it!

Let's be honest...loving your hair, makeup and wedding dress is just about as important as loving the person you're about to marry. You will be photographed by not only who you've hired..but by everyone else attending. And those pictures will be around for a long time. Your soon to be will love the way you look no matter what. However...it's how YOU feel about the way you look is what sparks that wedding confidence.

This is where Cheryl's amazing make up artist and hair styling skills step in. I have never felt as beautiful or as confident as I did on my wedding day. She glamorizes your hair and makeup without making you feel like you look like a completely different person. I wanted an old hollywood vintage look and that's exactly what I got: bright lips, big eyes that don't disappear when I smile, and finger wave curls in my hair. She even pinned the fresh flower gardenias in my hair. It was perfect.

The next thing you need to look for is how long the hair and make up will last. Cheryl uses her own line of make up which works perfectly well with the humid summer Hawaiian climate. She also applies enough hair product to make sure it lasts. My wedding day was about 12+ hours and lasted the whole time. The only thing I had to do was reapply my lipstick after eating. She also provides a touch up kit.

I've been a bridesmaid in a lot of weddings and have had my hair and make up done several times. Cheryl's hair and make up skills is by far the best! She's super fun to be around and gives you the look you want. You definitely want her to be part of your Glam Team!

Cheryl & her glam squad are exceptional. Their work is so professional & each bridesmaid blew me away with their transformation. Including my bride & myself.
The Cherbu range is perfect, it lasted all night until I sadly had to wash it off. I would work with Cheryl & her team in a heartbeat. Such a beautiful person with talented skills. I would recommend any bride to work with this lady & her team.

I was blown away at the way my hair and makeup looked for my wedding day. I can't tell everyone enough that if you want to look absolutely amazing for your wedding this is the person to book with. Don't chose anyone else to do your hair and makeup!!! Cheryl is the only one you need!! I had no trial run only a few ideas but it was all Cheryl. The only problem I had was trying not to ruin the beautiful job she did by crying!!! I am extremely happy and am trying to find a reason to get my hair and makeup done when I go back to oahu. She has her own makeup line that's awesome!! I can't say enough good things about her you just need to hire her and you won't regret it.

Cheryl Hazelgrove is amazing and hair and makeup! I have always had trouble with my hair style actually staying in place (MY hair never stays curled!) She managed to do my hair and makeup within an hour and it was the best job I've ever seen. She is fun and has a passion for her job, which is why she was so pleasant to work with. This women is AMAZING! Besides the stress of planning a destination wedding, one of my biggest fears was who was going to do my hair and make-up. Her reviews do not lie and she was great. I love Cheryl! She did my hair and makeup (along with my mom, sister, MOH, and flower girl). They were on time and even finished ahead of schedule (despite last minute additions of my sister and MOH.) Everyone looked absolutely gorgeous. Her and her assistant were so sweet and fun. I was a little nervous because I did not have a trial (destination wedding) but everything turned out better than I could have ever expected. Simply amazing.
I recommend with 0 hesitations!

Flawless. That's how I would describe Cheryl's makeup / hair skills. My wife and I hired Cheryl to do our makeup the morning of our wedding. We also treated both of our mom's to getting their hair / makeup done. Cheryl and her assistant came to our rental house and spent time with all 4 of us that morning. Based on the yelp reviews alone, we knew we didn't have anything to worry about, but the experience and the end result was everything we wanted and more. She has a way of bringing out your natural beauty without making you look overdone. Cheryl and her assistant were amazing and thanks to her, these two brides (and our moms) felt beautiful on the day of our wedding. The touchup kits she provides are just an extra bonus.

My mom, cousin, and I received so many compliments about our hair and makeup. I did not expect it, but when I looked at the photos I could see why. My trial with Cheryl was incredible because it was my first time for such a makeover with lashes. And when I asked for a little more natural look Cheryl delivered! Several people told me how I looked so stunning and radiant. I loved the loose updo that Cheryl did to go with my romantic vintage theme. I got married on 11/4/14, in Oahu Hawaii. This sounded like a great idea in the beginning, however living in California it ended up being a bit of a challenge with nearly every vendor I reached out to. Then enter Cheryl. She made every single step easy, she called, or texted, or emailed me no matter how many times I changed things on her or asked her to double check, repeat and make sure it was right. I met up with her 12 months before my wedding after only communicating via email and such. How incredible was she in real life! She does the trial run at her beautiful home that is fully set up with her own make up line, and products. Cheryl is kind, and patient, knows exactly what you want (even if you don't!) and is willing to make sure you are happy! My husband couldn't get over how beautiful I looked and I owe it all to Cheryl. Don't look anywhere else, SHE IS THE BEST YOU WILL FIND! First off let me just say that there are not enough stars to rate miss CHERYL HAZELGROVE !!
She deserves 100 of these stars!!
I first saw her on yelp , the one thing that caught my attention is she doesn't require any down payments!! That is a good thing for us brides that are on a budget!! Her website shows everything that a bride needs to know the prices, pic etc.. I thought that was another thing that caught my attention was how her website was so very professional !!
As I scheduled my appointment for my wedding she was very friendly and helpful!! Her response to my short request was very excellent!! I didn't do a trial run ,but I trusted her to work her magic!!!
On my wedding day she made sure she contacted me all ready to go ,she gave me detailed instruction on how to locate her super super gorgeous studio!! The cute thing was not only was I excited for my wedding, she was just as super excited for me too! That really showed me that she actually truly cares for her clients!!!
Now for the moment of truth we did a quick color test and away she went !! She was such a miracle worker she managed to cover up a small tattoo I had on my face , her makeup line that she uses is very excellent!! It doesn't make you look like you got your face painted on ,but it actually is very light and full coverage all the way ladies !!! Her choices in color to go with your wedding event was very excellent !! All in one she made me the most very happiest and the most beautiful bride i could ever only dream of!!
I personally want to thank miss CHERYL , for being apart of my special day and for making me the most beautiful and happiest bride on my wedding day !!!!

Cheryl is pure magic! She gets back to you so quickly and is really easy to work with. I asked her if I should book a trial appointment before my wedding and she told me I was welcome to do so but she guaranteed I'd be happy with my make-up without one. Bold statement I thought, and sure enough, on the day of my wedding Cheryl put together my hair and make-up perfectly. She has an iPad so that you can choose the exact hairstyle and make-up that you want. Brilliant! I've worked with a lot of make-up artists over the years and I can tell you that Cher is the very best! Not only is she professional and talented, but she's extremely positive which is so important energy to have around you on your special day.

I hired Cheryl after reading great reviews on her from The Knot. I live in California and was having the wedding in Hawaii so I was really nervous to hire someone I found on the internet. I contacted Cheryl and set up a trial when I was scheduled to visit Hawaii. When I met Cheryl she was very personable and understood the look I was going for. She and her assistant did my hair and Cheryl did my makeup. I absolutely loved it all. She was able to duplicate the look on my wedding day. I receives a number of compliments on my wedding day. I loved Cheryl's work, she was very flexible to my million last minute schedule changes. Her and her assistants were able to do 15 ladies hair and makeup on time.

I spent only 5 weeks planning a very small wedding in Ko Olina, Oahu. Given the tight planning schedule and not being a resident of Hawai’i, it was challenging to select reputable vendors, such as a florist and makeup artist. When I began my search for a makeup artist, I read several reviews and searched through many photos. Ultimately, I hired Cheryl based on her reviews on The Knot….and I could not be happier with my decision.

Cheryl and her assistant (Katie) did an awesome job! Cheryl did my hair and makeup, as well as the makeup for my maid of honor. Katie did the hair for my maid of honor and mother of the bride. Everyone looked so beautiful.

Cheryl was such a joy to work with. I did not schedule a trial session, but Cheryl made the process so easy. Not having a trial is extremely risky, but Cheryl was confident that she could make it work. And it did! Cheryl has so much experience and knew exactly what would work with my skin complexion and bone structure. She also encouraged me to be open with her about what I liked and did not like. While it is common for a bride to be stressed out the morning of her wedding day, Cheryl helped to put me at ease. She really cared :)

About 5 months ago, I started looking for makeup/hair artists on yelp. During the search, I found Cheryl, who had wonderful reviews on yelp. I emailed Cheryl for an inquiry. However, I was hesitant about booking with Cheryl because I didn't hear back from her until two weeks later. However, I still decided to give it a try, which I am very glad that I did. When the date got closer, Cheryl emailed me with a timeline that she had set up for me, my 2 bridesmaids, my mom + mother-in-law. We had to make some revisions, but Cheryl made it really simple!

Finally, I arrived in Honolulu on Oct. 20 (my wedding was on the 25th). I booked my trial session with Cheryl just three days before the wedding. Cheryl was so welcoming and friendly yet very professional with her services. She made me feel relaxed that I was able to trust and leave my makeup/hair designs up to her. Cheryl's makeup skills are so professional and wonderful. As an Asian girl, she was able to bring out my features very well w/o overdoing.

Fast forward to the wedding day. Cheryl and her hair stylist, Monica, arrived at our hotel at 6:30am. Monica did all the moms and bridesmaids hair. Cheryl did all the makeup plus my hair + makeup. Everyone loved their looks, especially my maid of honor. She was so happy with the makeup and hair that she really wants to hire Cheryl to be her makeup artist for her upcoming wedding in Cali! Lol, considering expenses, she gave up on the idea. Anyway, I loved everything that Cheryl did for me on my wedding day. She even showed my MOH how to pin and remove the veil and the flowers for my hair. The MOST INCREDIBLE thing to mention is that Cheryl has her own line of makeup, Cherbu. Her makeup is absolutely amazing! My photographer was so impressed because when I had my portrait shootings under the scorching sun, my makeup did NOT melt AT ALL!! No eyeliner or mascara smears even hours later. You will not regret booking Cheryl as your makeup/hair artist!!!!

Cheryl was extremely easy to work with, friendly, fun, and did a fantastic job on my hair and makeup for my wedding. Good price too, especially with the yelp deal. Her good ratings, reviews, and good price is what attracted me to select her. I wasn't sure how it would go since I selected her purely from what I found online, but I was very pleased to find that the reviews were very accurate. Cheryl is amazing! I was planning my wedding from another state so I relied a lot on recommendations and wedding sites. I emailed her first and set up a consultation when I returned home. Hit it off instantly. She's so talented and so personable. She really found the perfect style and look for my wedding day. She helped me set up a timeline for getting ready that I could coordinate with my planner. Day of, she was short her assistant but she managed to do my MOH and my hair and makeup perfectly. After reading the amazing reviews online, I contacted Cheryl from Australia by email. She was super fast at replying to me and was happy to give me ideas and make up styles for my wedding day. I sent her photos of make up and hairstyles that were professionally done and Cher was confident and so happy to do anything.

I arrived in Hawaii from Australia and emailed Cher to confirm our booking. No probs at all and we met at my hotel room on the wedding day. Cher arrived with her lovely assistant early and were so friendly and made me feel at ease. It was just like hanging out with the girls! Cher and her assistant got stuck in with the hair and makeup, I actually couldn't believe how fast she finished and how amazingly beautiful she made me look.

My bridesmaid was a little fussy with her hair and chers assistant was more that happy to change it up for her (about 4 times haha).

Out make up was completed and looked so good :) Cher left me a touch up kit and made sure we were all !

Cheryl and her team were fantastic to work with. They arrived early on the day and put us at ease immediately with great conversation and many laughs. There were six ladies and two flower girls having hair and makeup done on the day and Cheryl and her team were very obliging and fulfilled each and every request. I organised my Hawaiian wedding in Australia and booked Cheryl Hazelgrove for my bridal hair and make up based on the outstanding online reviews I had read about her. It turned out that everything I had read online was absolutely correct as Cheryl was incredible and truly made me feel and look beautiful on my special day.
Cheryl always responded very promptly to my e-mails and was very organised with her questions and providing me with a timeline so everything was arranged before my wedding day.
I had a trial with Cheryl a couple of days before my wedding. Cheryl is so warm and friendly that she put me at ease immediately and it was so much fun to see her transform me. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted but as soon as Cheryl did my hair and make up I knew that was what I wanted.
On the day of the wedding Cheryl came to my hotel room at the Hilton Hawaiian Village with two assistants. As my wedding was small all the female guests were having their hair and make up done so there was 7 of us in total. Cheryl organised everything perfectly and monitored the timing as she did everyone's make up. It was such a fun day and I was really relaxed and I believe this is due in large to Cheryl and her team's professionalism and friendliness.
I loved my hair and make up and as other people have stated in their reviews, the false eyelashes make everyone look that extra glamorous and are a must! It was so exciting to see my family getting all glammed up by a professional make up artist and we all took turns admiring how amazing each other looked.
My make up lasted the entire day even though it was a very hot 35' Celsius and an outdoor wedding.
I cannot speak highly enough of Cheryl and if you are looking for a talented hair and make up artist who is also an extremely kind and funny woman, you have found what you are looking for in Cheryl Hazelgrove.

I recently eloped at the Kahala and hired Cheryl based on her yelp reviews and pictures. Since it was a small affair I opted to skip the trial run (which I would totally suggest doing if you're having a full blown wedding). But for my purposes it worked out perfectly! Cheryl was super busy juggling weddings but made good time to make it to my Kahala suite and do both my hair and makeup. I had some vague ideas in mind but really depended on her iPad of sample photos to find the look I wanted. I normally wear light makeup so I wanted something more dramatic than the normal wedding makeup (light and natural) and she came through for me. I loved it and my (now) hubby almost cried seeing me for the first time (which made ME cry lol). Thank goodness everything she has is not oily, waterproof, and I absolutely love that she gives an extra baggy of goods for me to retouch my lipstick or fix that shiny nose. And I need to emphasize - the fake lashes... OMGOSH it made ALL the difference in the world. Even if you're getting light makeup, DO THE LASHES. It really makes your eyes pop, especially for photos. And my hair was a bit complicated because it's blonde ombre highlights on black but luckily, homegirl has the same hairstyle! I know I wanted braids and curls and she made it perfectly matched. I had my wedding at Paradise Cove in Hawaii on Sept 5th and had hired Cheryl to do my makeup and my daughter's (3 year old) hair about 3 months prior. I got an immediate response and was very pleased with Cheryl's overall attitude and positive outlook. I prepaid my wedding service through Paypal ( which I requested and loved! No worrying about money while on vacation!) Her prices were more than fair and she stayed in contact until the big day. On the wedding day, Cheryl came to my rental home in Hawaii Kai and I was not there! I was stuck in traffic! However, my 3 year old was there with grandma and she came in and did her hair while I was still on my way! I was so surprised that my daughter sat still and how great her hair came out. I finally got to the home and was very comfortable with Cheryl. She was easy to talk to and there was no weird awkward silence. I asked for a natural look as I never wear makeup and got a gorgeous look that still came out great when photographed. I came to Hawaii to get married and Cheryl did my hair and make up...LOVED HER!! She did an excellent job on both and I highly recommend her. I showed her a pic of how I wanted my hair styled and she was able to create it with no problems. I wasn't too sure on how I wanted to do my makeup, but she had pics on hand and I was able to choose that way.

I also loved that she was on time and very professional not to mention a very sweet lady. She transformed me into the beautiful bride I was destined to be. I would DEFINATELY use her again if I ever have the need.

I hired Cheryl to do the hair and makeup for my wedding, and working with her was a dream! I found her online, and liked the pictures she posted online, so I decided to book her. I didn't have a consultation, because I had a destination wedding, so time was very limited leading up to the big day. Cheryl was SOOO accommodating, I really can't praise her enough for this. From a couple months out, all the way until 12 hours before the wedding, she worked with me, because I kept changing how many hair and make-up jobs. Even the day of, she was willing to work with my wedding party, on who could go first and when, based on their schedules, and she did it with a smile.

We were all soooo so happy with the job Cheryl and her assistant did, my hair and makeup was exactly what I wanted. I already knew what I wanted, and showed her pictures, but she also brings an iPad full of hair and makeup looks that she can replicate, if you or anyone in your party is unsure about what they want. I would recommend her to anyone!

All I can say is that I am so glad that I found Cheryl! The wedding party and guests were coming from all over the world. I appreciate the positive reviews about Cheryl not knowing who I should hire to do the brides makeup. I wanted the bride to look stunning and her makeup to last all day long and into the evening. I had a destination wedding (live in SoCal, wedding in Hawaii) so I didn't have any recommendations from friends. I had a package deal for my wedding and they had a recommended artist but I wanted to see my options. I found Cheryl's website and saw her photos, reviews, and the awards she won and definitely wanted to go with her. I contacted her via email and booked my date!

She was super friendly and professional. she was on-time at 6:30am and finished early enough to give us time to get to the ceremony on time. She was able to take care of parking on her own at the Hilton Hawaiian Village (which charges guests $8 for the first 30 min and then bumps up to $27 after the half hr).

Life was super hectic and busy leading up to my wedding so I didn't get a chance to give her an idea of what style I wanted. Based on the portfolios she had readily available, I was able to pick a hair and make-up style but wasn't completely sure. She did a great job figuring out what I wanted and then doing it. My hair was so awesome!

I also had a bridesmaid who didn't know what she wanted and was WAY off in what she wanted (think EDM / Rave make-up) but Cheryl was so polite in meeting her half way w/the colors my bridesmaid wanted but not making it look like she was going to a rave (based on a photo my bridesmaid picked).

I normally don't wear make-up but for this very special day, i decided to do it. I was not used to it at first but she said the make-up would look "less" in the photos and it did.

The coolest thing is that when I was taking my make-up off at around 10-11pm that night, my make-up looked exactly the same, despite the long day, super hot and humid weather from Waimanalo to Waikiki, and then going through the airport hustle and bustle from Oahu to Kauai at night. I couldn't believe my eye shadow hadn't smeared (normally i get some kind of crease junk) but whatever primer stuff she used kept my whole make-up intact.

Cheryl was the best!! She was so professional and easy to work with. I didn't do a trial run for my wedding hair and make up. I just took a leap of faith and she did perfect! Cheryl and her hairstylist did a fantastic job on the hair and makeup for my wedding! I planned our wedding from Australia and booked Cheryl based on reviews alone - she was so friendly over email and super-prepared when she arrived on the day of the wedding. I had a vague idea of what I wanted but immediately trusted her suggestions and it turned out great. She and my sisters encouraged me to go with the false eyelashes (I'm not really a fake eyelash kind of girl) and I decided to do it. No regrets, it didn't look over the top on the day and turned out great in the photos. She was professional and fun to be around and everything turned out beautifully!

I wanted to look glamorous for my March 2014 Hawaii wedding. Cheryl came highly recommended to me by one of my good friends. I had my wedding hair/makeup trial with her in September of last year, since I was going to attend a wedding that same day. Might as well look all done up with a place to go! She did exactly as I asked. Hair half up, half down and smoky eye makeup. I was complimented throughout the day. When I got back to San Diego and went through my photos, however, I decided that I didn't want my hair that way after all and also didn't want my makeup that smoky. I changed my mind on my whole wedding look. I thought she was going to kill me when I asked for a second trial. Instead, she was so patient and helpful. I booked the second trial for January 2014, the night of my bachelorette party. This time I wanted big bombshell hair and lighter makeup. I went out that night and once again received a ton of compliments. When I got back home to San Diego and looked back at the pics, I couldn't believe how good my hair looked! It was absolutely perfect! As for my makeup, I let her know I wanted to try a different look. Not as light- more dramatic. I'm surprised she didn't fire ME. She said that was fine, so I had one more eye makeup trial the week before my wedding. Let me tell you- it was worth me nitpicking myself. It was exactly what I wanted! At my wedding, she made me look absolutely gorgeous! She brought her team, who helped with my bridesmaids' make up and hair. They're already pretty girls, but they looked even more beautiful. Two of the bridesmaids had never had fake lashes before and it made such a difference in their look! Not to mention my 9 year old niece. She put curls in her hair, eye glitter, and lipgloss, all complimentary. She felt and looked like a little princess. Cheryl was not only extremely professional during my whole "mini bridezilla" ordeal, but she was so kind and personable as well. Will definitely see her again at my next Hawaii event!

Cheryl Hazelgrove is an amazing makeup artist! She did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I could not have been happier with how it all turned out. My hair and makeup lasted through the ceremony, hours of photography and dinner and drinks after. I looked as fresh at the end of the night as I did at the beginning. She is not only a lovely and fun person, but she has a real eye for what makeup and hairstyle will work best for you on your big day. She is a true professional and is so easy to work with. I had a blast working with her and was sad when I had to say goodbye. She makes you feel special and unique. She listens to your ideas and goals and ends up providing you with a look that is better than what you asked for. She knows what features should be accented and what colors will work best for you and asks lots of questions to make sure you are comfortable with all aspects of the process. I received so many compliments on my makeup and hair! I have worked with a lot of makeup artists in my career and she is by far the best one I have worked with. She also has her own makeup line that is amazing. I loved her makeup so much that I am planning on buying some for everyday use. I would recommend Cheryl for your wedding or any event you want to look your best. You will not be disappointed!

Cheryl is Amazing!!!! I highly recommend and wish I lived in Honolulu so I could see her all the time. She always got back to my emails very fast and was so nice and easy to work with. She added on my mother-in-law last minute no problem. Her and her assistant showed up early and were so fun to get ready with. My mother-in-law and I both had our hair and makeup done by Cheryl and both turned out amazing! She did exactly what I wanted and didn't leave until everything was perfect. It was an extremely windy wedding out on the beach and my hair did not move at all, while everyone else's were blowing like crazy. She is extremely nice, we all had a great time getting ready together and she made the time so memorable. I love everything about her! She is so beautiful and also has her own makeup line which is amazing! She also gives u a little wedding day survival kit with extra makeup items that were really useful. Like I said if I lived in Honolulu I would have her do my hair/makeup for every event!!!

I planned our wedding from Australia not knowing what to expect from any of our vendors. Planning a wedding from overseas can always be a little nerve racking and pictures online can sometimes be deceiving.

I chose Cheryl as my hair/makeup specialist as she was voted #1 on "The Knot", owned her own beauty product line and her pictures and reviews were great. I still wasn't too sure what to expect, however, Cheryl was so kind and made it all a breeze. She was always prompt to get back to me, go over hairstyles/makeup with me, send photos, etc. When I actually met her in person I fell in love with her, she's just an amazing person, so professional yet so free spirited and all of my bridal party just loved her and her assistant. She made me feel so incredibly beautiful!

All of our family and friends commented on how amazing my hair and makeup looked! She exceeded my expectations. Not only does she do amazing work, she does it at an affordable price and was very flexible on the day with bridesmaids changing their minds to get it all done.

Believe me, you get MORE than what you pay for with her! I highly recommend her to every bride/bridesmaid/mother or friends. Cheryl, thank you so much for making me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world on my wedding day xx!!

If I had one Word to describe Cheryl, It's "AMAZING". She did a wonderful job with make up on me and my girls. Everyone was very happy with how they looked. We all felt like beautiful princesses. Cheryl and Lessa were wonderful hair and make-up artists. I showed Cheryl a picture of a vintage hair style which was something I pulled off the internet from Pinterest and she made my hair look just like the picture. To the last curl, seriously. She was very enthusiastic and personable when it came to doing my trial and day-of wedding. My two bridesmaids were also getting their hair done by Lessa and make-up by Cheryl. The timeline they estimated was more than enough time for them to set-up and have us ready on-time. I loved my hair and make-up the day of the wedding because it lasted all day. Honestly, the only thing I really had to re-touch were my lips. With the Hawaiian weather and climate it lasted the entire day. OH and my hair, was an up-do, with the wind blowing by the beach...it stayed intact :) I definitely recommend Cheryl and Lessa for any special occasion to any of my friends and relatives. I could not be happier to have chosen Cheryl to be my makeup and hair stylist on the day of my wedding! I have always been good at applying my own makeup so I knew it would be difficult to find a makeup artist that would completely blow me away with their talent. I actually went through many trials with other makeup artists before I finally had my trial with Cheryl a week before my wedding! I was absolutely blown away and sooo relieved to know that she was available! Not only is she very talented, but she is so fast at responding to any texts and emails, she is so personable and fun, and really just lightens the mood of everyone around her. I was hesitant to choose her as my makeup artist at first since a lot of her pictures seemed to showcase her models with a lot of makeup, and I didn't want to look like I was wearing so much makeup on my wedding. However, her skills are very versatile and I was impressed with how beautifully she was able to apply darker makeup while still looking natural. I can honestly say that she is the best on the island. I really felt like I looked the most beautiful I ever have in my life, and every girl deserves that on her wedding day!

I was so happy with the makeup and hair Cheryl did for my wedding. She was absolutely great. She knew so many tips and tricks and made me look more beautiful than I ever thought possible, It was hard not to cry (and ruin my fresh makeup) when I saw myself in the mirror! My hair looked wonderful too and stayed put all night... She even gave me a little lip gloss and powder, bobby pins, etc to carry to touch up. She was patient and listened to everything I said about how I wanted to look and made it happen perfectly. I could have asked for more!

I traveled to Hawaii from California for my wedding and spent weeks researching make-up and hair artists. I'm so picky when it comes to people doing my makeup and was not impressed with many of the artists I found and then the heavens opened and I found Cheryl Hazelgrove on yelp. I loved her work instantly looking thru the before and after pictures and was even more impressed when I found out she has her own make-up line! A few days before my wedding I scheduled a trial with her and the first time she NAILED IT! I felt so beautiful and stunning, she knew exactly what I was looking for and made my dream into a reality. Fast forward to my wedding and I had to stop the tears from coming down based on how beautiful she made me look and feel. Being a destination wedding I thought it was going to be really difficult to organize hair and make-up from Australia. Cheryl was so prompt, friendly and helpful we decided to go with her on the spot. I met Cheryl the day of my wedding and I couldn't have asked for a better make-up artist, she had 5 people to do hair and make-up for and everyone looked stunning. She was so great at helping to decide on a look for everyone and we had a such a fun few hours full of laughs. I would recommend Cheryl to anyone looking to get married in Hawaii, as someone who doesn't regularly wear make-up, Cheryl gave me a look that not only made me feel beautiful, it still looked like me, my husband kept telling me how amazing I looked.

Cheryl was the PERFECT choice! I had an elopement style wedding and was traveling from New Zealand to Hawaii. I searched around the net and found Cheryl had the best reviews and her style of hair and makeup in her portfolio suited me best. She was so helpful and friendly from the very beginning of contact and when I met her in person on the morning of my wedding (I didn't need nor have time for a trial as I believed she would be great) I felt like we were old buddies. She was on time, calmed my nerves and made me feel so relaxed and beautiful! I only hired her for bridal hair as I wanted to do my own makeup, but am totally confident in her makeup skills as well - she even helped me with one of my falsies when I had difficulty putting it on. For the longest time, I planned on doing my own hair and makeup for my wedding. As the stress of everything got closer, I realized there was no way in heck I was going to be able to do it on my own and not have it look like complete crap. I really didn't want to look ugly on my wedding day! Cheryl had the best reviews and really reasonable prices so I contacted her. From the moment I contacted her, I could tell she was someone I really wanted to work with. She was so friendly, kind, and accommodating: something every bridezilla needs to calm the nerves!

I decided to book her for just myself and she even offered a discount if I went to her studio. I later on decided to ask my bridesmaids if they wanted to get their hair and makeup done too so she was able to squeeze them in and bring in her assistant. She had 2 other brides that day too! I don't know how she did it, but she is amazing! She was so easy to work with and really calmed my nerves on that stressful day. She did an excellent job on my makeup and I got so many compliments on it. I know I would've never been able to do that myself! She made me feel like a bride! Her makeup also stayed on great all night! I had no problems with it, even after the tears. I even bought some to take home. I am so happy I booked Cheryl to start off my day right! She really made me feel special and I would recommend her to anyone.

Cheryl did mine, as well as my mom's hair and makeup personally for my wedding this January. She also had one of her assistants do my bridesmaids' & flower girls' hair.

Cheryl is very friendly and professional. She made me feel so comfortable during my hair and makeup trial as well as on the actual day of my wedding. My hair looked great and my makeup was flawless - Cheryl really is an artist! My mom's hair and makeup turned out wonderfully as well - I know she felt and looked beautiful. I would recommend her to all Oahu brides that need hair & makeup done.

Her assistant did an amazing job on my bridesmaids' and flower girls' hair, I was very impressed. The assistant did one of my bridesmaid's makeup too, which looked nice (although not quite as flawless Cheryl's work). I would recommend her work as well.

I absolutely LOVED working with Cheryl and her team for my wedding day!!! She is extremely talented, professional, charismatic, and so passionate about what she does. She has the most positive attitude and brought a vibrant energy into our bridal suite. She is fast and the results were stunning. Cheryl was extremely accommodating from the very beginning. She was quick to respond my questions and made me feel important and special throughout the whole process. Her make up products were amazing and I felt flawless even after all the crying at the end of the night. Because it rained on my wedding day, we chose to re shoot wedding photos the next day. Cheryl was awesome! I couldn't have been happier with my makeup. She worked on myself, my bridesmaids and my mother. Everyone looked beautiful, especially my mother. Everyone's makeup lasted all night long and looked great the entire night.

In terms of makeup, Cheryl made sure to address and make us feel comfortable with all of our issues - from getting shiny throughout the day to having a smokey effect on an asian eye to making sure we didn't
look washed out in our pictures.

Planning a destination wedding, Cheryl was very easy to work with. She responded quickly to all of my emails and accommodated me for a makeup trial when I came down for a planning trip months before the wedding.

Cheryl is awesome!! From the trial to my wedding day she did everything I asked for. I booked her 2 months before my wedding after a trial I had with her. She got my hair on point and on the first try. All I had to do was show her a picture of how I wanted my hair and….BOOM she did it! And as for her makeup, I am someone that never wears makeup and she made it feel so comfortable AND she gave me more of a natural look with a little dazzle! She did an amazing job! Look no further ladies Cheryl and her team are fantastic. My name is Karolina and I'm from Perth Western Australia. I urgently needed to organise hair and makeup for my special day June this year and I only had 3 days to do it. Lucky for me i was referred to Cheryl and her team by a local and they did not disappoint. Cheryl was so professional from the moment we spoke on the phone and made me feel at ease straight away. Unlike most Brides I did not do a hair and makeup trial due to time and the surf in Hawaii but I had nothing to worry about as Cheryl and her team were not only professional but supa friendly and I felt like they were family and they should of been coming to my wedding. Cheryl's makeup products are fantastic especially for beach weddings which is what I had and when you have factors like the sun and the wind you would think you would be touching up your makeup and hair all the time but honestly I felt fabulous and didn't need to touch up at all through my photo shoots and the best thing I still looked natural even though I had make up on. My mum and sister also got their hair and make up done by the girls and they were very impressed. My sister has been a bridesmaid for 6 different weddings here in Oz and said that by far Cheryl makeup and hair is the best she has ever had. We all agreed when we come back to Hawaii we will call Cher makeup and hair to get our hair and makeup done again just for a night out that's how gr8 they made us feel. First of all, Cheryl is a Goddess and a sweetheart. My experience with Cheryl was absolutely phenomenal. My husband and I had planned a last minute elopement and so I needed hair and makeup done that week! I contacted Cheryl and left a message with her and she got right back to me that day! The moment I spoke with her I knew I had a winner! She was so sweet and down to earth and just perfect! She even went out of her way to switch her schedule around to fit my needs. She stayed in touch with me as my big day approached and when I had gotten to her apartment (which is were her studio is) I was in complete and utter awe. Her studio made me feel like a glamorous movie star! It was so beautiful I freaked out and literally ran in and was giggling like a little girl. Then the makeover began. When she had finished, I could not believe my eyes. She had literally transformed me into something I could have never imagined. Cheryl is the definition of AMAZING! She was my stylist for my wedding and I was very impressed not only by her skills but with her personality. I didn't feel as if I had hired her. I felt like she was a good friend I had for years coming to help make me glamourous for my big day.
She is extremely personable and made me feel as if we were friends. There is not enough words to describe how special I felt to have her do the glam for my big day. She was a god sent. Originally I was going to hire someone else because I was running out of time and energy. The day I was supposed to sign the contract with this other stylist something told me to do a little bit more research to see if anything else is out there and that's when I found Cheryl. She was so kind and flexible to work with me on such short notice. I feel that for the fabulous work she does she does not charge enough. Seriously she is too humble. I felt like I worked with a celebrity stylist. Not to mention the enormous amount of compliments I received on my look. If I were rich I would hire her to come to my house everyday for glam. She made me feel and look amazing! If you want to feel incredibly beautiful on your big day hire Cheryl!

I absolutely loved Cheryl!!!!!
I absolutely loved Cheryl!!!! She did my hair and makeup, as well as my five bridesmaids and my mother. I had never felt so beautiful, and I had the best looking wedding party I have ever seen! She was so professional even with all the caious that was going on in the hotel room. I would recommend Cheryl to anyone. She uses the best products and really knows what she's doing. She really exceeded my expectations!!!!!! You are in good hands with her:)

Simply Amazing!
I stumbled upon Cher Makeup and Hair while researching professional hair and makeup artists online. I am very particular when it comes to makeup application and quality of products and services. I mean it when I say, no one compared to Cheryl. Not only does she do great work (which surpasses industry standards), she goes above and beyond for her clients. She worked with me to customize services and looks. Needless to say, she was thee best vendor a girl could ask for. Not only did she make me feel gorgeous, she made my mom feel, "young and beautiful" (as she described it). Cheryl also has a makeup line that is beyond any brand I use now. Cheryl is the best!
I recently had a destination wedding in Hawaii and was looking for someone to do my hair and makeup on my special day. I was a bit nervous because i did not know anyone in Hawaii and strongly relied on theknot.com for make up artists. I selected Cheryl because I fell in love with her website and make up/hair work. She also immediately responded to my email and was able to confirm and book my date right away.

As my wedding date got near, Cheryl maintained ongoing communication via email and made me feel at ease. The date before my wedding, she confirmed our scheduled time and hotel location. Cheryl arrived to my hotel on time and was very professional. She was also fun to talk to and made me feel very comfortable around her.

I was extremely satisfied with Cheryl's work. She is simply the best. Thank you Cheryl for making me my special day memorable.

Cheryl did an amazing job on my hair & makeup for our wedding day. I cant tell she pays lots on attention to detail. Not only that she does amazing hair & makeup Cheryl also provides her own makeup line. Her makeup on my face feels very light. Unlike those other studio makeup Cheryl's feels very nice. I cant wait to see my pictures from my photographer. Thank you Cheryl!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!

Cheryl was great to work with. Our consultation was quick and reassured me of her services. She arrived with her hair stylist on our wedding day slightly late, however kept me updated and informed the whole time of her arrival. It was my first time having professional makeup done and Cheryl was very easy to work with. She had my inspirations saved on her ipad and we had a brief discussion before we got started. I trusted her to work her magic and was very happy with the end result. Thank you for making me and my girls look our best our my wedding day!

Wow, where do I even start? I was lucky to stumble across Cheryl by Yelp reviews. Her reviews were amazing and I decided to send her an email. I live on the mainland and I had a destination wedding in Hawaii. Trying to plan a wedding overseas is stressful enough and having to worry and fret about your make up as a bride...Even worse, but she replied immediately and gave me the breakdown about her services. She included a touch up kit and lashes all within her price. I was so happy to hear that. And she said she could do my moms hair and make up as well. Cheryl then began sending me pictures showing me different looks she could offer. I was super nervous to get my self done up on my wedding day without doing a preview, but I decided to go for it anyways. And boy, I am sure lucky I did. The minute my mother and I stepped into Cheryls beautiful home she welcomed us with a hugs, laughter and delicious Hawaiian chocolate. She was very eager to please and so caring towards people she had just met. Honestly, she makes you feel like you have been friends forever. I had cancelled my mothers appointment last minute because she is very particular about her hair and makeup, but the minute she saw Cheryls work on me, she asked if Cheryl had the time to do hers. Usually, there was an extra fee to add services the day off, but she didn't charge us nor seem upset that we changed our minds once again. She is such a super hip chick that really listens to what you want. And if you have an issue with the way she styled you (which I doubt ANYONE would) she did whatever she could to fix it and make you happy. I looked at her makeup products and asked her why she had so much, turns out this woman has her own makeup line! And she has traveled everywhere. For a woman with so much experience and professional background she was so down to earth and so sweet. I would recommend Cheryl to anyone and everyone.
