Being in the wedding industry, my husband and I knew we wanted a venue that was different. The moment we stepped foot into the Chelsea Mansion we knew this is where we had to share our special day with our family and friends.

The venue and the grounds are absolutely spectacular. Everyone we spoke with there was very professional and strive to give you your perfect day. I highly recommend having your wedding or event at the Chelsea Mansion. You will be forever happy with your choice.

We happened to hear about Chelsea Mansion from a contractor doing work on our home. We decided to take a ride one Sunday afternoon to check it out. We drove in to the property and our jaws dropped. The place is magical, straight out of a fairy tale. I said to my then-boyfriend, "wouldn't it be amazing if we could have our wedding here?". We were engaged about two months later and booked Chelsea Mansion as our wedding venue (for both ceremony and reception) within a month of our engagement. Long Island is full of those wedding factory halls and typical mansions that host weddings. Chelsea is quite different than anything else out there, and nothing can really compare to it (not even the extravagant Oheka, which is ridiculously gaudy and WAY over the top, that is, unless you like that sort of over-the-top-ness). Our wedding could not have been more perfect. It was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky, and all of our family and friends keep raving that they have never been to a wedding so beautiful and so intimate. Michael, the caretaker for the estate as well as the weddings coordinator, makes sure every single solitary thing on your wedding day goes off without a hitch (and he did just that for us). He is a gem and working with him was a wonderful experience. It will be a once in a lifetime experience having your wedding at Chelsea Mansion. Side Note - Matthew Adam Photography is located right at Chelsea Mansion - and he is absolutely BRILLIANT and we can't even begin to express how happy we are with our wedding photos. And its also very convenient to have his studio right there. Truly a match made in heaven.

We recently came to check out this venue for our wedding. We’re still undecided, but we seem pretty confident about this one. It is a very personal space, but we are able to still have our guest list of 300 people. The grounds are so well maintained, and they use the back of the grounds for a larger tent with flooring. You do bring in mostly everything, but the cocktail tent is beautiful, as is the mansion itself. The staff seemed very nice, and the director, Michael, was very confident, and knew exactly what I wanted. That being said, the venue seems perfect for the personal feel we’re looking for with such a large crowd. We want everyone to enjoy the day. Definitely in our top 5’s!

If I could do my wedding over again, I wouldn’t. Our day was perfect. We had our ceremony out by the garden. I walked over the moat to my family, friends, and wonderful husband. I had dreamed of this moment since I was a little girl, and this was it. My fairytale (exactly as it was described in the brochure). My Husband and I only had about 125 guests, and used the tent provided at no extra cost. The bridal suite was right by the groomsmen's, there were only 10 of us all together. Luckily we’re all friends and got to be together on this special day. Our cocktail hour was out in the gardens, and my friends said it was wonderful. We made our special entrances through the antique doors into the tent and were greeted by our friends and family. The tent looked magical, and the caterer we hired under Michaels suggestion was perfect. Everything went so smoothly and was magical. My friends are all looking here for their weddings and photo-shoots, after the professionalism that we had that night. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff and director at Chelsea!!

Welp - sadly my fiancé and I are writing this place off due to horrible communication from Michael Butkewicz. Our experience was unfortunately just like Colleen M.’s from Sept. 2017... I was in contact with Michael for about 1.5 months on and off trying to get some more information about the venue and how things are typically done there but one time he just never responded, then after I reached out to touch base again, he apologized for the delay due to a death in his family. I sympathized via email and asked him to reach out when he could/was ready/or point me in the direction to someone who could help. He never responded. After no response for 10 days, I reached back out to schedule a viewing. Alas!!! He responded... We went back and forth a bit regarding dates/times and landed on today 10/7/18 at 1:30pm. Well...we arrived and — no one was there. We knocked on doors, walked all around the grounds, called several times, didn’t bother leaving a voice message because at that point - we just wanted to leave. We were so disappointed with the lack of communication from Michael we automatically crossed this place off our list. My advice to every bride to be: no venue no matter how beautiful, will ever be worth the stress of not being able to count on , and communicate with, the main person in charge. Our time is valuable - and Michael clearly doesn’t think so. This is not the proper role or industry for him.
