Incredible food and amazing service

We are so grateful we hired Chef Marisoll for our wedding! From the moment I met her, she delivered exceptional, professional, and attentive service. I have a big family and she graciously accommodated 10 of us for our food tasting- she made this such a fun and interactive event! Our wedding was flawless. Her team delivered incredible service, and the food was outstanding. She accommodated changes and food preference and allergies without issue. Our guests raved about the cocktail hour appetizers, the meal, and the bar. I'm so glad we trusted her!!

Destination Wedding

Chef Marisoll and her team were amazing! We had a whole roasted Lechón and it was incredible! All of our guest did not stop raving about the food at our wedding. Chef was fast with responses and was so considerate with our restrictions. I would definitely recommend these services.

Fabulous, amazing and delicious!

Chef Marisol exceeded my expectations on cocktail hour and dinner! We had a huge ask for cocktail hour and every part of it was executed perfect! We also did a full sit down dinner which was delivered without a flaw! All the food was amazing! Definitely recommend her services! Perfect!

Amazing Service & Food

Chef’s fish was a hit. She has such a diverse menu and we think we tried everything possible during the food tasting 😆. She was very responsive and a true professional. The Plantain Crusted Mahi Mahi was by far the hit of the evening. Chef and her crew provided excellent service and there wasn’t one hiccup. Thank you so much Chef!!

We could not be happier that we chose Marisoll for our wedding day! Everything was so delicious. All of the guests loved the appetizers and there was plenty to go around. I felt like a princess with my own server bringing me appetizers during cocktail hour. When it was time for the dinner (we chose buffet style) they brought us a plate of food and assorted desserts to our bride and groom table. I can't express how much my husband, myself and our guests loved the food. Choose Marisoll for your event, she is worth it!

Marisol was amazing! All our guest could not stop saying how delicious the food was at our wedding. We had a buffet style catering. We had Puerto Rican hors d’oeuvres. One of my favorite was morfongo fritters and the guyaba dip. Marisol was very professional and responsible. We live in Miami and she was great with communicating and keeping us up to date! For the cocktail hour she constantly had food coming out and her service was amazing! I definitely recommend her to everyone! Thank

Not much can be said except “Worth the wait!” We’ve been to too many weddings where the food was horrible or not up to par for the amount paid for plate. No one can ever say that about Chef Marisoll. Everyone loved the food! We loved the food and her team! She took our ideas of what we wanted and was able to create a specific menu that catered to our wants and desires. From the visual of the whole pig for my guests, to a great variety of food, and her dessert table set up was a wow factor as well. The wedding party was thrilled when she had made enough food for them during cocktail hour so they were fed during pictures. We booked her about 8 months ahead of time and we are glad we did, it took a little time for her to respond back but that’s because she’s making deliciousness for other events. Just have patience; you’ll be glad you did. You can’t go wrong with booking Chef Marisoll and her crew. From the servers, to waiters, and providing everything you need; it’s a one-stop shop with no worries. You’ll be in good hands with her. I appreciate all the reviews for her prior to me booking because without them I wouldn’t have had such great food at our wedding. Thanks wedding wire community and GRACIAS POR TODO MARISOLL. I will continue to sing your praises because without you things wouldn't have been as great as they were. Continuare recomendandote adonde quiera que voy.

Chef Marisoll catered our wedding reception (seated dinner) and wedding day luncheon (buffet). Everything was delicious and beautiful!

She was very quick with email responses. She had great suggestions and handled changes with ease. I have a gluten allergy, which was no problem for her at all. Her service staff meticulously labeled the foods for the luncheon buffet to ensure I knew exactly what was gluten-free. And during the reception, the servers were extremely careful to make sure I had what was safe for me to eat.

Her attention to detail is worthy of praise! Everything not only looked beautiful, it tasted devine as well. During our cocktail hour, the guests couldn't stop raving about the appetizers. Chef Marisoll also made sure during that time, as we we're having private pictures taken, we also had food and drinks.

As dinner was concluding, Chef Marisoll even came out to greet us and make sure everything was satisfactory.

I highly recommend Chef Marisoll!

Delicious!! My husband and I wanted to make sure we didn't have "wedding food" at our wedding. He found Chef Marisoll on Wedding Wire. She was sometimes a little hard to get a hold of, but once we did get in touch, she answered all our questions and had everything under control. We also had a dramatic change in the amount of guests we expected, which she was immediately flexible to without a problem. We had hors d'ouevres for the cocktail hour, a dinner buffet with fish, steak, pork chops, chicken, sweet plantains, rice and beans, a pesto pasta salad, green salad, yuca (all of that was for dinner!), and a late-night asopao served in glass bowls to our guests! The presentation of the food was great, and more importantly, the food was awesome. The food tasting took place in her beautiful kitchen studio and was an opportunity to share a nice meal with our parents just a few days before the wedding--complete with wine pairings. We don't live in Puerto Rico, but we waited until the week-of the wedding to do the menu tasting--we trusted her and had heard so many great reviews, that we were actually not worried about this at all. Chef Marisoll also supplied the glassware, plates, and flatware--everything was tasteful and good quality. Chef Marisoll and her staff are phenomenal. She was on-time and prepared for our wedding. It was an all-around great experience!

Great food, traditional Puerto Rican food for us - was not too salty and had great variety. The appetizers were my favorite! Marisoll's staff was wonderful, they made sure me and my husband were taken care of the whole night, they were friendly and happy to go out of their way for all of our guests.

Everyone loved the food! Very responsive and professional. Highly suggest Marisoll and her team!

I cannot stop thinking about Chef Marisoll's food! It was the highlight of the reception by far. The food was really important to me, so I'm so happy that she delivered! Not only was the food amazing, but her staff was absolutely phenomenal. It was flawless. My only complaint was trying to get ahold of her, so I could book her. Don't give up, because she will get back to you, and it will be worth it! Here was our menu:

Cocktail Reception:

Mofongo Fritters - I wish there were leftovers of these!! Holy cow, the best thing I ate on the island.

Everything was truly amazing, the only downfall was that everyone loved the food so much, that there were hardly any leftovers! :)

Food was delicious and she had a perfect menu for our PuertoRican and Peruvian family in our destination wedding. She worked within our budget and I thought she was very affordable for what we were getting! Not to mention, planning was a true pleasure with her as she always always responded to emails within hours. Due to having such amazing reviews and to Mariosoll's professionalism, catering was an area that I was not worried about leading up to the wedding. Truly an AMAZING experience from beginning to end and it was a pleasure to have met her at the wedding!!! Everyone in our family raved about the food!

One word, AMAZING! She helped me plan the menu and accommodated my wish of having some local flair (I highly recommend the yuca salad and the mahi mahi). The ceviche and empanada appetizers had so much flavor. Even the hummus and bread were to die for! Very nice and easy to work with. Her whole staff was great, leaving no one at the party without food or a drink in hand.

We feel so lucky to have found Chef Marisoll to cater for our wedding event. She was incredibly quick to respond to our requests and delivered exceptional food with the highest quality. All of my guests were impressed with how fresh, warm and delicious the food was. Simply put, the food is outstanding! Chef Marisoll is a very kind and warm person and her staff were incredibly professional. It was such a pleasure and privilege to have Chef Marisoll at our wedding. The best catering I have ever had…making it the best and most enjoyable night of our lives.

Chef Marisoll was perfect! She was extremely patient answering millions of questions and recalculating my estimate leading up to the wedding. We chose from her prepared menus and everything was delicious. My husband is a bit choosey about food, and he couldn't stop mentioning how delicious the fish was and how perfectly the steak was cooked. Rather than ordering a super pricey cake, we opted to have Chef do a dessert buffet. It was AWESOME. There was still a cake to cut, and I think it was soaked in amaretto. So. damn. tasty. There were also little brownies, cookies and cupcakes. It was perfect for our group and Chef Marisoll will be the perfect compliment to your wedding. Thank you Chef!!!

My wedding took place May 11, at the beautiful Casa Olimpica in Old San Juan, PR. . I am from Florida and the whole "looking for destination wedding vendors" process really scared me as I wanted everything to be perfect!! I started planning everything quite early and I was extremely happy when I met with Chef Marisoll for a proposal. From the minute I met her I knew that her service was what I wanted. She values food quality, service, and presentation, and those 3 qualities were significant for my wedding dinner. She was very professional, punctual, and had a pleasant demeanor. I wanted a fancy sit down dinner, but was on a strict budget. Chef Marisoll was able to tailor to my needs. We kept in touch via email and she was very responsive and prompt. Chef Marisoll was able to accommodate the tasting at my aunts house on a separate occasion because I was on a tight schedule flying out that same day. Wedding day came and Everything was PERFECT. Hor D'oeuvres were exceptionally tasty and she saved us a plate while we took pictures. We chose surf and turf with a butter quash soup and scrumptious salad, and my guest were raving about it all night. The staff was very friendly. We utilized the bar service as well and had no complaints. I completely recommend Chef Marisoll to anyone seeking an extraordinary caterer! I am happy to have met this lovely team and look forward to using her services again when we renew our vows if not sooner. Thank you so much! and thank you for making my wedding day as perfect as it could be! My family says hello!=)

Chef Marisoll was a pleasure to work with. Since my husband and I are both vegetarians, she worked with us on a wonderful menu that we could really enjoy while also providing our meat eaters with plenty of options. She is professional and attentive to her clients needs. We received great feedback from our guests on the food and her presentation was excellent. I highly recommend working with Marisoll and already recommended her to close friends.

You know those really picky people that have high standards when throwing parties? Well, that's me, and Chef Marisol FAR EXCEEDED my expectations!

From start to finish, Marisol was attentive and responsive and ON IT. Prior to the birthday party event, she made recommendations on a menu, asked me my budget, and did not try to push or oversell at all. Her prices are reasonable and when she arrived with the food, I was in awe. She was on time (waiting for me, actually), and brought a few nice live floral/plant decorations to ensure the food table was beautiful. Her food was FABULOUS. Tasty, natural, non-greasy. Everyone was raving about the food. And, there was much more there than I expected. The presentation was nice as well, and very professional. We could have fed 50% more people.

I highly recommend Marisol for any event. She takes personal interest to ensure the event goes well and the food was delicious. Don't hesitate - she's THE ONE.

Chef Marisoll helped make our wedding cocktail hour and reception so amazing. People were going nuts over the food, and even as busy as I was, I made a point to sit down and taste as much as I could -- it was delicious! The three-bean salad, the yucca, the steak, fish, rice and beans... it was absolutely perfect. I only wish I had tried more of the cocktail appetizers but we were running around quite a bit! I really appreciate Marisoll's patience and flexibility throughout the planning process, and her help with thinking through things all around.

Chef Marisol did a spectacular job on our wedding!! Marisol worked within our budget and provided us with everything we needed to have a classy beach backyard wedding. When I hired her I for some reason was expecting catering...but boy was I wrong...Marisol cooked onsite @ the house we rented and in our contract we req. 2 servers and a bartender, she brought more then two and they all did a super job making sure everyone was taken care of. If you are like us and are trying to plan a wedding in puerto rico I def. Recommend CHef Marisol. Everyone of my friends are still raving about the food and mojitos :-)

We found Chef Marisoll through our venue and could not have been happier with the service and above all, the FOOD! When we were planning our wedding, we placed a lot of emphasis on the food, especially doing a destination wedding, we wanted to make sure that we received the same, if not better, quality than we would have gotten at home in NYC. We were a difficult client, pushing Chef Marisoll to do a family style dinner which she does not typically do, and custom creating our menu from scratch (with MANY revisions). Chef Marisoll was always quick to respond, provided helpful suggestions, and was positive & friendly at every turn. And boy did she deliver! The food at our wedding was top notch - a live paella station, beef tenderloin, empanadas, and much more. We had a mix of american favorites with a latin twist. Our guests were raving about everything, including the presentation & service from the waitstaff who were very attentive throughout the evening. We are more than happy to share our exact menu with any couples because there is not a single thing we would do differently. We even had late night sliders (which were a huge hit) and Chef Marisoll went above and beyond with the presentation to put them in adorable NY times newspaper print wrappers as a throwback to our home town. It's those little touches that really make the difference when you are spending so much money and time on one evening. Make sure you request lamb chops!

We loved Marisoll & her staff! Our family & friends enjoyed all of the courses her prices were fair and negotiable. I found her to be very accommodating to dietary needs and no one left hungry! The food was spectacular, presentation was lovely and wait staff were friendly and professional. We are forever grateful.

Marisoll was AMAZING to work with. She was very responsive by email (and in English) in the months and weeks leading up to the event. She event sent emails and called to check up on me! She tailored a menu to my needs and budget, and provided delicious food for my mixed american/puerto rican guest list. Her staff was incredibly responsive during the event and seemed to know exactly what to do without being asked. I would hire her again in a second.

Chef Marisoll went above and beyond for our reception. Our wedding was in Arecibo this past December, which was quite a hike from San Juan - but she delivered an incredible meal as promised with no issues! The appetizers were varied enough that picky eaters were all able to find something they loved. The entrees were great - they even made plain spaghetti with butter for my nephew who is very particular. The service was wonderful and my guests all complemented the staff at the end of the night. Thank you for making our destination wedding so memorable!

It's been a week and everyone continues to rave about that soup!...and that dessert!...and those little twinkie looking appetizers that were fabulous. The food was delicious, the dessert was delicious, and the staff was fantastic! Chef Marisoll and her staff made it their mission that we and the wedding party were fed. During pictures, they brought over appetizers just for us, and they ensured that our table had food on it at all times.

We were really sad that we didn't get to see the chef before she left but the delicious wedding dinner made up for it!

Chef Marisoll provides the professionalism and great quality food that any event requires. My groom is a true foodie and was very picky with the quality of food he wanted served at our wedding. Once we saw Marisoll's menu- we knew we found the right person for the task. Her pricing is a bit higher than the rest, but I feel it is purely due to the quality and attention to detail she provides for each plate. Our appetizers during cocktail hour were to die for (Im not sure how she kept the fried shrimp with coco chilli dipping sauce so warm and crunchy?), and the buffet was impressive- The filet mignon and fish were cooked perfectly, never dry at all. The menu was a great blend of PR cuisine with a even a little California in there too.
All I can say, is if you have a great eye/taste for good quality food, then Marisoll's catering does not disappoint!

Chef Marisoll was excellent, really excellent. The food was awesome. It looks exactly like the pictures - beautiful presentation. Marisoll was super flexible with us and accommodated our budget, last minute increases in the number of guests, and our desires to stray from the menu. We did two tastings with her - one before we decided on the menu and one after - which I highly recommend because I barely ate on the wedding day. You. Will. Love. Her. She is so professional and sweet and has great wait staff. She will do whatever she can to accomodate your needs and desires and I would work again with her in a heartbeat. Thank you Marisoll for a beautiful wedding reception!

When we talk about the wedding with our guests, they always mention how amazing the food was - from the hors d'oeuvres to the three course dinner. Chef Marisoll was very responsive through the planning process and adapted to our budget while still delivering a truly delicious and beautifully presented dinner. Thank you Marisoll!

The food was great! Was a destination wedding so we never had a tasting but we were not disappointed. Slightly difficult to communicate with, slow responses but we're happy we didn't let that us deture us.

We had an all-vegan wedding and Chef Marisoll was able to easily accommodate. The food was absolutely phenomenal and all of our guests who were mostly non-vegetarian (and heavy meat eaters) really enjoyed the offerings. Like other vendors when planning a destination wedding, the response time was a bit slow (but definitely not out of the ordinary). We really want to give Chef Marisoll 5 stars as the quality and presentation of the food was amazing BUT unfortunately, WE RAN OUT OF FOOD at the wedding. It was buffet-style and by the 7th or 8th table (out of 10; had 75 guests total) who went to get food, most of the food was already out.

We had a variety of options for cocktail hour but service was a bit slow and the food/apps did not really come out in a timely manner and were lacking in quantity. Also, our his/her drink (mojito + moscow mule) were really sweet and weak and most of our guests opted to order different drinks instead. They also kept telling our guests they ran out of various liquors (which wasn't true; they just had to reload from their truck as it wasn't automatically set up due to Campo Rico's space for vendors) but they should have been prepared for this as it was embarrassing for us as hosts to have our guests told we were "out" of anything. For the price we paid and just based on how great she was throughout the process, she was the one vendor we didn't think we had to worry about but unfortunately, she was probably the biggest "issue" we had during our wedding day.

For anyone looking to book her, she is really great but make sure you ask for more food than less. Also, maybe it was our fault that we asked for a variety of options (i think we had 5 diff passed apps for cocktail hour, and 4-5 entrees + salad). Maybe if it we didn't choose all the different options, she would have had more time to make more of each to accommodate everyone? In any case, especially if you do a buffet, be very clear as to the amount of food you'd like served.

We researched many options for our wedding menu. We had the chance to use the vendor that our planning service offered us, but we didn’t want standard buffet food. After looking at reviews on wedding wire we reached out to Chef Marisoll. From the start her communication was spotty. Sometimes going weeks with no reply and several follow ups. When she did reply she was very professional and detailed.
We ran into an issue about a month out from the wedding. The venue we selected (Tres Palmas Inn and Villas) did not allow the Chef to use the kitchen. Now, we had alerted her to this months before and encouraged her to reach out to them to ensure there were no issues on the day of. She not reach out to them as we had asked. She informed our wedding coordinator that she would need a tent setup and tables in order to execute the day, as she could not use their kitchen. Again, this was two weeks before our wedding. Our coordinator had no choice but to charge us for the rentals, so an extra $600 we did not plan on spending.
We understood with planning a wedding that little surprise fees/charges would happen. The reason this was upsetting is because we feel had she reached out to the venue sooner we could have better planned for this. Chef Marisoll also told us she was bringing staff with her, but the day before the wedding my wedding coordinator informed me she asked for her to provide staff. Our wedding coordinator was nice enough not to charge us (again).
Day of, appetizers were great, the soup was great, but the entrée was just okay. The entrée was going to be the star, but just did not wow at all. Presentation was okay. To be honest by the time we got to this point we were already kind of disappointed with the experience.
I would recommend going with your gut when dealing with vendors. If you feel something is off from the start change it up.
