Great place for a wedding. The staff was responsive and very professional. We had zero problems with the set up and during the event. The food is amazing as well.

Jodie was great to work with and very helpful during the planning process. The staff that worked our event were absolutely wonderful! They made sure that my husband and I had a plate of hors d' oeuvres at our table as they were going fast. They also checked in on us through out the night to make sure we had what we needed. Truly an amazing experience! The venue itself is stunning and makes for a wonderful place to get married.

Chateau Rive is a beautiful venue and it was perfect for our wedding. The staff works hard to set up for the event and then they work as if they are invisible. Trudy our event coordinator was on top of everything even with a broken leg. She will have your back 110%. Red Rock Catering was easy to work with and did a great job on the day of our wedding. The menu Red Rock offers has a lot of delicious choices and the prices are reasonable. The stuffed chicken is what we got and it was so good.

Overall, we were very happy with Chateau Rive as our wedding and reception venue. We chose them because the location is beautiful & convenient; they include catering (extra $), rentals (included), decor (extra $), and event insurance (included) for a full-service experience; and their prices were reasonable ($2000 for a Friday evening summer wedding, including a 1 hour rehearsal and 12 hours the day of). Kellie Hoy is incredible, work with her if you use this venue! She came up with a great idea for table linens that looked beautiful, and she got bistro lighting over the dance floor included, which saved us a bundle because then we didn't have to rent additional lighting. She also reduced our corkage fee because we chose not to serve liquor, just wine and beer.

Our one frustration is that Chateau Rive had to change our rehearsal time last-minute due to double-booking, even though we had it scheduled for months. The problem was that Chateau Rive is operated by the Glover Mansion folks and Red Rock Catering, but the Flour Mill is owned by someone else who rents it to them, and the owner of the flour mill scheduled an event on top of our rehearsal dinner without checking with Glover Mansion. Kellie was able to get our rehearsal time pretty close to our original time, so it all worked out. However, people who use this venue should know that the folks you'll be working with rent the venue but don't own it, which could have an impact on the details of your wedding. Kellie was very good about explaining that to us before we signed the contract, but we didn't really understand what it could mean for our wedding until we ran into that double-booking issue.

This is a beautiful venue, with both uniqueness and character! The setting by the river and outdoor walking area make this a one of a kind! We had asked for a long wedding table setup and unfortunately that didnt happen, but everything else with the food and setup was lovely. A little overpriced but the view is very nice.

I was charged with hosting our corporate awards dinner and chose this venue. The space is unique and has a great feel with the brick walls, high ceilings and stone floor. The catering company associated with the venue was easy to work with. Our event included a full bar, hors-doeuvre, and buffet dinner. The food was good and service exceptional. It's the details that I noticed that could have been attended to in order to score a bit higher. The small votive candles in glass holders that were placed on the tables were previously used and hardened wax was spattered on the insides of the holders. The candles only lasted about 30 minutes until they extinguished themselves. We paid $10/ea. for centerpieces which turned out to be one green sprig in a glass holder. Not much for the money we thought. Our entire cost was just over $10,000 for 88 guests which seemed steep. Parking can be an issue at this venue as it is located directly across the street from the Spokane Arena. A restaurant located in the same building apparently has the right to close parking accessibility to anyone unless they are attending the Arena event and pay a $10 fee. I received a phone call 20 minutes before I left my office to head to the event that our guest would not be allowed to park in the lot. When I arrived I was told by the attendant that I would not be allowed to park even if I paid the $10. After telling him that I had boxes of awards for our event and that I was NOT about to park two blocks away and walk, he eventually allowed me to park. I highly recommend getting assurance that you and your guest will be able to park.

We absolutely loved the venue and the catering staff (Red Rock Catering)! The venue itself is gorgeous and surprisingly, not well known. Our guests were absolutely amazed to find out that there was a wedding venue at the Flour Mill. It was a great value, especially with the off-season pricing.

My sticking point comes with the professionalism shown the week of my wedding. We booked the venue 6 months prior to our wedding and had been working with one individual from the very beginning. We absolutely loved her and naturally developed a relationship over time leading up to the wedding. On Wednesday the week of our wedding at approximately 4 PM, I received an email from her letting us know that she had been let go that day. Definitely not something we wanted to hear just 2.5 days before our wedding. To make matters worse, we were not ever contacted by Chateau Rive to let us know. Had she not contacted us to tell us herself, we would have shown up the day of our wedding wondering where she was. Additionally, there was no venue coordinator there the day of our wedding. When we arrived for rehearsal the day before our wedding, my father-in-law was handed a business card (which belonged to our original venue coordinator) with a new name and number written on it. No explanation was given aside from "if you have any questions touch base with this person". That is the reason why I gave a rating of 3 on professionalism. My personal opinion is that we should have been immediately contacted by the venue to let us know our coordinator had been let go and given the new name and number of the person who would be filling in, especially since this happened just days before our wedding.

Aside from that issue, everything was great. Turns out we didn't need a venue coordinator the day of since the staff functioned so well on their own. Absolutely no hiccups occurred!

    Beautiful venue poor service

They rarley answer the phone. They take a long time to respond to emails. They told me in our contract that the venue would be open at noon for our florist and my florist waited for 45 minutes past noon and was let into the venue by a building maintenance worker as the venue staff had still not arrived. Before my wedding our officiant called with a few questions and they told her they would not talk to her and hung up. They told me they would put signs up for the wedding and they did not. We paid for 5 hours in the venue and they insisted we leave after only using the venue for 4 hours because they let us in late. The venue is beautiful but they don't seem to care about the quality of service they provide.

    HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Chateau Rive in October 2014. Working with Chateau Rive and the staff was the most challenging, frustrating, painful experience of our entire wedding planning process and given the chance we would NOT use Chateau Rive again. Our wedding day turned out beautiful no thanks to any of the Chateau Rive staff.

My husband and I felt completely disregarded and felt that we were treated very poorly by Jodie Laib and the entire staff. Communication was horrible and it would take weeks to get responses after multiple follow-ups. Our needs were disregarded and for the amount of money we spent to have an event in facility we should have been treated with more respect. We were constantly made to feel bad about our decisions (ie. Plated dinner vs. buffet).

Being an out of town couple has it's own challenges. Every vendor in Spokane worked hard to try and ease the burden of only being able to do things over phone and email, as well as the few trips we made to travel there. Chateau Rive did not at all work with us to ease the out of town problems. Every time we came to town it would be a weekend, and we were constantly made to feel bad about being seen on the weekends and other requests we had.

The inconsistency in price and overall information provided was insane. We were told different prices on different occasions. For example, we were told that the corkage fee only applied to people over 21. The quotes given on a plated dinner varied for no reason and when we requested the breakdown of costs we were given more inaccurate information and then made to feel stupid for wanting to know where our money was going.

I now understand why people choose to have their weddings at venues that completely know what they are doing (hotels and country clubs). Everything was left up to us and it felt like we were alone in this process and we literally only rented a room (a very very very expensive room). STAY AWAY!
