Mike Winship - THE Charleston Wedding Planner. Mike and his girls are more than any bride could quite literally ask for. If something went wrong during our wedding process, I wouldn’t even know because Mike and his team made our wedding absolutely flawless and took care of quite literally everything from behind the scenes. The amount of guests I had RAVE about how Mike ran our wedding day is immeasurable. I truly could not have asked for a better wedding planner to hold my hand through this process, calm all my nerves, put me in touch with individuals, vendors, artists, etc. who quite literally made our day so magical. Mike’s connections and knowledge of the Charleston wedding industry truly make him a no brainer when choosing the one individual who you are trusting wholeheartedly with the most important day of your life thus far. I would choose Mike 10x over again, and I truly miss wedding planning with him (oh - yeah, and my husband of course). We cannot begin to express how amazing Mike was to work with! He made the entire wedding planning process feel seamless, organized, and genuinely enjoyable. I truly credit so much of our lack of stress throughout planning to Mike’s organization, communication, and calming presence.
We unfortunately ran into some weather issues on our wedding day, but Mike handled everything like an absolute pro. He kept everything running smoothly, reassured us every step of the way. Because of him, we were able to enjoy every moment, and never once feel overwhelmed.

Where to even begin! We moved to Charleston shortly after getting engaged and after deciding to have the wedding in Charleston, the hunt for a wedding planner began. I met with multiple wedding planners but ultimately chose Mike for his tell you how it is attitude and flexibility with communication / meeting times (outside the traditional M-F, 9-5). Coming from NJ --> NC --> SC, we had no idea how anything worked, who reputable vendors were or frankly anything about the wedding scene in Charleston. Mike made the entire process so easy and fun. I was honestly never stressed out about wedding planning and that's huge. Day of, Mike and his assistants were fantastic. The attention to detail, coordination and communication were top notch. Planning a wedding from out of state could have been incredibly stressful, but Mike made the entire process feel seamless and genuinely enjoyable and exciting. From day one, he went above and beyond; always organized, responsive, and completely in control of every detail, no matter how big or small. Mike’s network of VIP vendors is truly outstanding. Every recommendation he made was professional, talented, and perfectly aligned with our vision. After going through the wedding planning process and the actual big day, I can wholeheartedly say that one of the most important decisions you'll make is choosing your wedding planner. I did a destination wedding in Charleston, and was nervous about finding the right vendors to make my vision come to life. Michael was one of the best decisions we made. On our very first call, he immediately stood out from other planners. It was clear that he genuinely cares about his couples—not just as clients, but as people. He made sure I knew that my vision truly mattered to him and that he would do everything possible to bring it to life. Michael helped the whole planning process go smoothly and helped make sure it was stress-free and enjoyable for me. Michael went above and beyond, especially the week/weekend of the wedding to make sure my husband and I had the most amazing weekend. I cannot recommend Michael enough. Amazing Wedding Planner
Michael Winship was a great wedding planner! We utilized his services for a wedding at The Dunlin. He went above and beyond for my now-husband and I throughout the process. He listened to us and was adamant about making my vision come true. I lost both of my parents 6 months before the wedding and Michael did not miss a beat, both personally and with the wedding. Even going beyond to make things easier for me at points. He brought a whole team to make sure the day was executed perfectly, and was truly phenomenal. The absolute best decision my husband and I made for our wedding was hiring Mike Winship! We wanted a destination wedding in Charleston with little information about the area and how to go about planning a wedding in general. All of our doubts about making our dream wedding happen disappeared after our first chat with Mike. He was beyond thorough, attentive, and extremely easy to work with. He has great relationships with numerous vendors in the Charleston area which made it so easy to select the best options tailored to our vision. The planning process can be stressful, but Mike took loads off of our shoulders by providing us with organized information about everything we needed to know. I've gotten questioned by many people asking if anything "didn't go as planned" on my wedding day and I can honestly say that it went flawlessly and better than how I imagined. Mike was five steps ahead of everything and was the best person a bride and groom could have to keep any worries away on our big day. Our guests even raved about how much they loved him. His humor and his guidance was exactly what we needed (especially when our rowdy crowd was like herding cats). So, if you are looking for a planner, congratulations on your engagement! Where do I even begin when it comes to Mike? From the first moment we spoke over the phone, we clicked, and I knew he was the planner for us. He completely exceeded our expectation with not only the execution of our dream wedding, but the planning process itself. I knew planning a destination wedding was going to present its unique challenges, so it was important to me to find someone who could be boots-on-the-ground in Charleston, already familiarized with the best vendors in the area, etc. Mike was there every step of the way, helping us check everything off our list, sending me extensive lists of vendor options, giving honest feedback and insight that was desperately needed, sending photos of our rental selections that I couldn't see myself in person, and making us laugh along the way (important!!!!). As an anxious person, I loved having someone that made me feel calm throughout the process, frequently checking in and ensuring that we were "progressing nicely" (his signature phrase). He truly nailed it from start to finish, and I feel genuinely lucky that I get to call him a friend when all the planning was said and done. Mike Winship did an absolutely terrific job in helping plan Libby and Nick's wedding. For starters, although Mike is in high demand, he immediately responded to my inquiry about his availability. As I came to learn, Mikes quick response was not surprising because he was always incredibly responsive to me and my daughter throughout our wedding planning.
More importantly, Mike showed the patience necessary to get things done as we changed our minds dozens of times. Notably, Mike had a solution or a vendor who could address every idea we came up with. Mike knows the BEST vendors in Charleston, and they love working with him.
As they say, the proof is in the pudding, and everyone who attended the wedding said it was absolutley wonderful and all the guests had a great time. We owe Mike a debt of gratitude! cannot even begin to describe just how grateful I am to Mike. If you’re currently searching for, or even just considering hiring a wedding planner, you simply will not find better than Charleston Wedding Planner.
I worked with Mike for about a year and half planning our October 2024 wedding at Boone Hall Plantation. I had absolutely no idea where to start, but it took me one phone conversation with Mike before hiring him. He is bubbly, kind, down to earth, and has that type of personality that makes you feel welcome and heard with every conversation.
His process is so well thought out and simplified for Brides. For that entire year and a half, I watched him build the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever seen in my life and not *once* did I EVER feel that “wedding stress”. He helped guide me through every decision that needed to be made, and is able to provide connections to all of the TOP vendors. He has been in this business for a long time and has worked with the best. He was easily able to grasp what I was envisioning for my wedding day and knew the exact vendors that would work best for our particular style. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that EVERY vendor that I spoke to made a comment to me that Mike Winship is their favorite wedding planner to work with and that we couldn’t have picked someone better. I absolutely believe the hype.
Our wedding day has now come and gone. If something went wrong that day- I still don’t know about it! I cannot say enough great things about Mike. From the very beginning Mike was extremely helpful. When looking for a wedding planner, one thing that stood out to me about Mike was that he did not send me some generic email that all of the other wedding planners I reached out to did. He emailed me and asked if I had some time to chat on the phone so he could hear about our love story. From the moment we spoke on the phone, I knew I wanted Mike to be my wedding planner. He felt like I was talking to a good friend and just let me rant about my interests and love story. I had so many questions about where to even begin with wedding planning and he helped me from the moment that we chatted on the phone with venue ideas, and helped with any other questions that I had. Mike took all of the stress out of wedding planning. Anytime I would get stressed, he would call me or offer to meet up with me and would immediately take all of the stress away. Mike also knew every person in the wedding industry. Whenever my husband and I would meet with any vendors, every vendor had nothing but AMAZING things to say about Mike. Mike has been working in this industry in Charleston for a long time, and it shows by the great things everyone has to say about him and the relationships that he has with every vendor. Mike made it so easy to trust him and who he had in mind for vendors which took a huge stress away of having to do any research at all. He would send me a few options of who he recommends for things (which is a huge help rather than having to look on wedding wire and reading a bunch of reviews for each vendor). Every single vendor he recommended was amazing and beyond professional. Outside of that, Mike also supported all of my crazy ideas for the wedding day. He would see the crazy things that I would pin on my wedding Pinterest page and email me supporting the idea (like a live butterfly release during the wedding ceremony, and having a live alligator for people to hold at cocktail hour). No idea was too big or too small when it comes to Mike, and he fully supports ideas that others may think are ridiculous and figures out how to make it work and "flow" into the wedding day.
When it came to our wedding weekend, things could not have been more perfect. If there was any issue at all on the wedding weekend, my husband and I had no idea about it. I truly spent the morning of my wedding day just relaxing and getting pampered with all of my girls. I had 0 stress in the world on the wedding morning because I knew if anything went wrong, Mike would have it handled. He got my entire vision for the wedding and made it come to life way better than I ever could have even dreamed about! Mike is hands down the best wedding planner in Charleston and knows how to get things done. He makes you truly feel like you are the only bride he is working with the way he is always available when needed. Mike will make sure that your wedding is the wedding of your absolute dream.
Mikes assistant, Shelby, was also a dream to work with on our wedding weekend. She was constantly checking in to see if we needed anything throughout the day with a huge smile on her face. Before I walked down the aisle, I was getting nervous and said that I may need a glass of wine to calm my nerves. I don't know how it was physically possible for someone to move so fast to get to the bar to bring me back a glass of wine. I am convinced that she secretly is "Dash" from The Incredibles.
I could go on and on about how amazing Charleston Wedding Planner is. If you want the wedding of your dreams, and to actually have fun and no stress during the planning period, hire Charleston Wedding Planner! I promise, you will not be disappointed! -

Absolutely amazing
Words cannot describe how absolutely AMAZING Mike is. When starting the wedding planning process, I was completely overwhelmed and lost, until I came across Mike. I reached out on a limb one evening and heard back from him the very next morning. After one phone call I felt instantly calmer. Mike was there every step of the way and introduced us to the most perfect vendors. I had 100% trust in Mike, and he made the wedding planning process and the wedding day stress free. Every time someone asked me if I was stressed or nervous for the wedding I could honestly say “no” thanks to Mike. Mike makes the wedding process enjoyable. As someone who is very type A, all his worksheets and forms were heavenly. We loved our coffee “dates” with his dog Dash. Even my dad (who has very high expectations) could not stop raving about Mike. All my guests were even commenting on how great Mike was. I came into this looking for a wedding planner, but I am leaving with a friendship. I can honestly say there is nothing I would change about my wedding, and I could not have done it without Mike. If you want to hire a wedding planner who will work for you and your partner, then do not hesitate to reach out to Mike! My husband and I wanted to get married in the Charleston area but were not familiar with many of the venues and vendors there. From the very beginning of the planning process to the day we walked down the aisle and Tropical Storm Nicole blew through, forcing us to pivot to Plan B quickly, Mike was a calming presence who made our desires and needs a top priority. The best of the best
Mike is hands down the best of the best! We had a destination wedding so we hadn’t seen the venue, didn’t have any food/cake tasting’s or met Mike in person until the day before! From our first call with him, he passed the vibe check 😉 and we felt so secure that he’d be able to get this done in the short amount of time. He is so easy to talk to and he really listens to what you want! He put us in touch with the BEST vendors (Lashes and Lace, Loluma, Cru Catering, DJ Darby, Marley Photography) who did not disappoint! Everything was literally perfect! Loluma and Mike nailed my vision for decor and went above and beyond anything I expected. Mike kept everything running smoothly and ON TIME for the rehearsal and day of. What Bride can say everything went smooth and on time the day of the wedding! That’s all thanks to Mike! From the very first time I spoke with Michael I knew I had to hire him to plan our wedding! I have always dreamed of getting married at Boone Hall Plantation and Michael made all of my dreams come true! From the vendors he recommended to the advice given throughout the planning process, Michael has got it covered! I am not always the easiest to work with being a control freak, but Michael made each decision fun and easy. On the day of the wedding I felt so calm because I trusted him 100% and he delivered!! When our wedding venue was destroyed by a hurricane 2 weeks before the wedding date, he was able to get us a new (better) venue, vendors and equipment all arranged and perfect in time for our date! Mike is a life savor, GREAT planner!
I am the FOB. We had to reschedule my daughters wedding twice due to Covid-19 and an international factor and I do not know what we would have done with out Michael Winship. He was with us every step of the way, kept in touch with us constantly, and kept us up to date. It was a destination wedding for us, and when April 25th 2021 finally came Michael made all of my daughters, and my wife and I's dreams come true. We spent two years imagining the day and he made it come to life, better than anyone could have pictured. He made the day headache free for my wife and I so we could enjoy our only daughters wedding. We got so many compliments on the wedding and we owe it all to Mike. The vendors he got us in touch with and we hired were so outstanding. From décor, to music, photos, and food, it was all a knock out courtesy of Michael. My wife and I cannot recommend him enough. He gave our family a fairytale wedding and for that we will forever be grateful. Michael Winship is a dream wedding planner. He answered all of our questions and concerns with a smile on his face. We had many obstacles due to covid and he was so incredibly helpful and kept our stress levels at an all time low throughout the entire process. Pure Perfection
I can not sing the praises of this man enough. He made every single one of our dreams come true. We hired him two months before our wedding with about 25% of our wedding completed, and Mike was a miracle worker. He coordinated our vendors, timeline, floor plan, and wedding party. Mike kept the stress levels down by always being open for conversation, keeping us organized with timelines and checklists, suggesting vendors, and leading us to decisions when we weren't be decisive.
For the day of, Mike had the itinerary and playbook prepared and was onsite from the earliest possible moment to ensure everything was set up the way we wanted. He was great with handling the nerves and myriad of questions coming from the mothers. He also officiated our wedding and did an amazing job.

Amazing experience!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mike! He was the perfect person to plan our wedding. From our first meeting, he made us feel totally at ease and understood the vision that I had for our wedding. He was so kind and genuine and truly cared about making our day perfect. He was constantly in contact with the vendors, ensuring every detail was perfect for our day. As a night shift nurse, I have very little day time to spare. Mike was always understanding and my made the planning process easy and effortless. Our day was more beautiful that I could have imagined, and mike kept the night running so smoothly. I don’t know what I would have done without him! Every vendor that I chose was incredible- and all his recommendations. He always responded to my millions of questions within minutes to hours. Mike was fantastic! Kept us on track for our destination wedding in Charleston! It was extremely stressful to worry about planning a wedding from so far away. But not with Mike- he kept us on track and helped pick great vendors. He kept me laughing and kept the process fun. And let me tell you- there are no words to explain how much you NEED Mike on your wedding day- I didn’t have to lift a finger or worry about a thing. If anything went wrong- I have NO clue. The planners at Charleston wedding planner (most Mike) are insanely easy to work with and want to make your day perfect for you! Mike is super cool and easy to talk to which is sooooo important when you are planning your wedding. It is such a crazy process, but they are sooo so helpful. I didn’t think I needed a full time wedding planner but I couldn’t imagine doing this day without them. He was the perfect contact for me and all of the vendors. The day of, everything was taken care of perfectly and Mike and his crew were incredible!! My husband and I ate all of the food and had the most romantic day together!! Mike made sure we were happy (brought us all the drinks and food we could stuff in our mouths) every second of our wedding. Mike was a very high energy planner and whatever vision I had he was ready to tackle. His main form of communication was email in the main months of wedding planning and phone calls and texts the couple weeks before. He is very quick to respond to emails. The vendors he recommended were very reliable and high quality. His price was a fixed number and very much worth every penny. He will communicate with you as much as you like or as little as you like, which is nice as a working bride. Communication is important to have with him if you are having trouble with something. Where Mike truly shines is on the day of your wedding. He brought two assistants and the day went flawlessly. I told him exactly what I wanted and he made it happen. I chose my own photographer instead of the one he recommended, and when we were unsure if they were going to make it, Mike had another photographer on standby within minutes. We didn’t end up having to go that route, but just knowing that he is well known and liked in the community and knows many vendors is comforting. I would recommend Mike as a planner. -

It turned out to be the most incredible weekend I could ever imagine, thanks to Mike Winship.
