I found Dennis online and from my first conversation with him I knew he was going to be incredible to work with. We don't live in South Carolina so Dennis was flexible on pushing the engagement photos until after the actual wedding when we had time (and he made them more of our first family photos which is great!). He also is so affordable while still offering a great package which was so helpful for keeping to our budget. On the day of our wedding Dennis and his second shooter Madison were professional, kept to the time schedule and somehow came out with the most amazing photos I could ever ask for! In addition he was hilarious, so when you're exhausted from smiling he still got a genuine smile and laugh from you for the photos. Amazing Beyond Words, Just Look At His Photos
We just finished looking through all of our wedding pictures with Dennis--I'm not sure my review can do his talents justice. Honestly, he made me so comfortable on my wedding day, and his other photographer, Shannon, was amazing and so sweet to work with too. His photography is unique, and his eye for details and enthusiasm is just such a breath of fresh air, I love his passion for his work and you can tell he cares so much about his clients. He can take the shyest of people and make the experience so much fun. My wedding was a dual ceremony and time was a challenge, yet his team did not miss a beat and he captured the day BEAUTIFULLY, and not once did I feel rushed and you would never tell by the pictures that we were on a timeline. You cannot beat his prices, and when you see his work, you'll want to pay for even more pictures beyond what you initially paid for (which he will NEVER force on you, but will very kindly explain what options you have). I look forward to working with Dennis for all future milestones and cannot recommend him enough. We did our engagement pictures with Dennis as well, and he just keeps amazing us over and over again. Great elopement style experience!
Dennis was a perfect choice for our elopement style ceremony at White Point Gardens in Charleston. We had about 25 people in attendance, including kids and grandparents. Dennis dealt well with large groups and gave us a wide variety of poses to choose from. After we got all the group pictures finished, the two of us went around the nearby streets with Dennis. He found lots of unique places to photograph us and we had so many choices of images because of the speed and efficiency with which Dennis worked. Overall, Dennis handled large groups and small groups well, he has a great personality, and he was able to direct two people who aren't very comfortable with photos!

Dennis and his assistants were professional, timely, and ended up taking wonderful photos. Dennis was also kind enough to print a bunch of photos for me which was so convenient. I would easily recommend! The only suggestion I would have is for Dennis to use something other than DropBox to store/send photos for customers. It is not a very easy app to use and has minimal storage unless you pay for it monthly, BUT it is definitely not a deal breaker since you can save the photos to your device(s), just takes some time.

Aside from having the best pricing around the Charleston area, Dennis is a top notch photographer! He is so incredibly easy to work with. We did not know what to expect during our engagement photo session because we had never had professional photos done before, but he directed us through everything and made it so easy, and so much fun too!
We booked him a little over a year out before our wedding just based off of his reviews and photo samples online, and we feel that it was such a blessing that he was available and that we were lucky enough to book him. We were absolutely blown away by our engagement session photos! We knew then that we had chosen the perfect photographer for us, but we just went to see our wedding photos today, and even before any of the editing (which by the way ladies, if you have a little double chin going on, or a photo that isn’t too flattering in the waistline, he can usually fix that too!), we were once again blown away. They are absolutely GORGEOUS. I have never been a photogenic person, but he really knows how to capture the best angles, and some of those pictures could have been magazine covers. He is amazing. He also offers some really great package upgrades that include some very thoughtful memorabilia to consider adding on, such as beautiful custom wedding albums and more.
On top of all that, he is just such a great guy in general, and we just love him. We are so grateful to have been able to work with him and get to know him. Here’s a little piece of advice: Book him now before someone else beats you to it!!!

I spoke with multiple photographers when I first starting planning my wedding, Charleston Photo Art was the only one that I felt completely comfortable with. He is quite friendly and does a great job at making everyone feel more comfortable when you have to do a ton of poses with everyone for hours. My husband and I went to his studio to review some photos and it brought all the emotions from the day rushing back...especially when I saw my husband cry AGAIN. I cannot wait until I get all of my edited photos and video back. I highly recommend Charleston Photo Art. The Perfect Day
Dennis captured our engagement photos so it only seemed fitting to book him for our wedding. My husband and I chose to do a very simple wedding with just our parents present. We were worried that the photos were not going to have that wow factor because we were not having the big and traditional ceremony and reception. But boy we were wrong about that. Dennis captured so many beautiful photos of my husband and I, as well as our parents and us together, that we ended up not being able to choose 20 photos (included the price of our elopement package) and purchased them all instead. Not only did Dennis take several beautiful photos for us, but he also made a tear-jerking video that included our vows. We were and still are so thankful for the time and effort Dennis put into our wedding. He made the moment feel even more special!

Pleasant surprise
My new girlfriend and I were guests to a friend's wedding this past weekend. We made last minutes plans to elope in Charleston, a city we've never been in and it was just the two of us. Dennis honestly was the most helpful person, he went above and beyond to accommodate us from working with us on date and time changes, doing his best to keep us out of the rain, and even picking my now husband up from the hotel so we would have the opportunity to do the first look photos. I would give him 10 stars if I could just on customer service alone! Dennis was exceptional from start to finish. Every detail from planning to executing details that were such an incredible surprise.
Dennis was upmost professional and he carried out his photography expertise beyond our expectations.
My daughter and I have an artistic flair and Dennis was able to really capture all the moments we wanted as well as surprise us with a lot of other meaningful special moments during the whole weekend.
I have always been one of those moms taking a lot of pictures, practically capturing every “sneeze” when Shaynes was little... I believe Dennis carried this out and more.

Our photographer Denis was such a joy to work with! He went above and beyond to make my secret proposal to my girlfriend a romantic success. With my proposal taking place at Middleton Place, Denis helped to guide me and give his professional advise to make sure every detail was accounted for. After my surprise proposal, the following photoshoot was an experience that far surpassed my expectations. Denis took us around the property to make sure we had amazing shots and he even helped to instruct us on poses. In addition, another thing that Denis did well was to make the experience comfortable and natural, especially since this was a time of nervousness and high emotions. He's such a funny guy! Dennis took the most beautiful photos of our intimate beach wedding. He spent a lot of time helping us pose to capture different shots and even met with us the next day to choose our photos. We received our photos very quickly and he is very responsive to calls/texts/emails. We have had many, many compliments on our wedding photos. I would definitely recommend him to photograph any occasion!!!

Dennis was wonderful!!! He made the whole process extremely easy. We planned a destination wedding which already was a tad challenging, but he assured us the pictures would make our friends jealous. Dennis was absolutely fabulous to work with!! I’m a local wedding planner here in Charleston that had the pleasure of doing an engagement session with him! My fiancé and I went into this with hopes that Dennis could help us in every way possible to be photogenic (as we both can struggle in this field, lol) and he went above our expectations! As a planner, I’ve seen so many photographers and their work, but getting to experience Dennis’s passion head on was such a blast! He said the quirkiest things to get genuine smiles out of us and truly made the whole session as care-free as could be! We then went to his studio two days later (amazing turnaround!) and he had us pick our favorite photos...not to mention he printed one for us to take home!!! Awesome Engagement Session
We found Charleston Photo Art on the wedding wire website and loved his style of pictures. We met 2 weeks ago in Isle of Palms for engagement photos at sunset. We were a little nervous going in thinking it’s going to be so awkward, but Dennis made it so fun we were laughing the whole time. He showed us a couple pictures as we went and already loved them without editing. We live out of state so were able to view photos with him via Skype and pick our favorite ones. It was such a fun experience and we can’t wait for our wedding day and to see all the memories he captures!

Dennis and his team are incredible in all aspects! We used him for our engagement photos over a year ago and knew we wanted him to capture our wedding day. We planned from out of state and he made it so easy. He was there to capture the big moments and tiny details we will always remember. We were valued
I booked Dennis for our wedding that isn't here until October (currently June). I booked him 6 months in advance and he has been so friendly and communicative. It doesn't matter that our wedding is a ways away or that he is busy. He has made time to respond every time! We had our engagement photos done and they are STUNNING! He really captured the fun and love that our relationship contains. In addition, he maintained a humorous, fun, but serious composure. The results made me tear up! He is a truly talented artist! Simply the best
This was our first professional photo shoot and when you pick the best first there's no reason to look elsewhere. Dennis was fun, upbeat, professional, and most of all flexable. The perfect photographer for the big day
My fiancée and I were looking for a photographer for our up coming wedding. One of the places we searched was The Knot and came across Charleston Photo Art. We went in for our initial interview and knew we had found the photographer for our special day. We scheduled a engagement photo session with him and with all the craziness of getting our wedding put together he was a fun break from the planning and running around. He's very personable when working with you and will make suggestions on different photographs but receptive of any thoughts or concerns you may have. We spent the majority of the photo session laughing and having a good time with it. He kept us laughing and joking around so it didn't feel like a fake smile or an awkward pose. When we finished he showed us all the photographs taken and let us choose which ones we liked to add to our package. He wasn't pushy with trying to upsell but very laid back and made sure we had photographs we loved before sending them to get touched up. The photographs came back in just a few days and we were able to view them. We couldn't be happier with how they turned out. We highly recommend Charleston Photo Art. They have made the experience as enjoyable as possible. We can't wait to see them again at our wedding.

My fiancé and I first met Dennis at a Bridal show earlier this year. The first thing he said was I’m here to make your friends jealous! That statement stayed with us and we later called Dennis up and asked him to be our photographer. He, very kindly, invited us into his studio office and explained all of his different packages. He showed us samples of his work and we were blown away. Shortly after, we called him up and booked him for our special day. With the package we chose, we got a free engagement session. Dennis recommended some locations, in downtown Charleston. So we met there, on a Sunday afternoon, and had a phenomenal time taking pictures. Dennis is incredibly easy to work with and is a great guy. We met again, in the studio office, to view the pictures. Dennis made us coffee and offered delicious macaroons. The photos turned out better than we could have ever imagined. Brandon and I had the pleasure of working with Dennis on our wedding day (9.21.2019). Middleton Proposal
Dennis went above and beyond for us at our surprise proposal engagement shoot. We went to Middleton Plantation for an afternoon where my boyfriend proposed! Dennis had done his research and was knowledgeable about all the best spots, and even offered my fiancé advice about where to pop the question to get the best backdrop. He knew exactly where to take us from there. We laughed the whole time and felt extremely comfortable. He is great for people who have a hard time relaxing while taking photos! Dennis was awesome. We had our engagement pictures taken by the best. We felt we that we have know Dennis for a long time even though we only met a few times. He made the photo shoot easy and fun. You will not go wrong with Dennis. He will answer all the questions you have. I can't wait to see how our wedding pictures turn out.

The all around BEST in Charleston!
Dennis is amazing! Not only is he super talented, he’s really easy to work with and hilarious. I appreciated all of his “directing” and suggestions for poses because my fiancé and I were pretty much clueless. We had so much fun during our engagement shoot and the pictures are better than we could have imagined. We can’t wait for our wedding with Dennis by our side!

My fiancé and I had our engagement photos taken by Dennis and we could not be happier! He is amazing and so great to work with. He gives the perfect amount of direction and makes the whole process fun. Dennis had never done a shoot at the location we chose and when he showed just as much excitement about doing our photos as we had about getting them done, we knew he was our guy! He truly loves his art. We CAN NOT wait to work with him again on our big day!!

I can't say enough good things about Dennis at Charleston Photo Art! We had the most wonderful engagement session with him! We didn't know where to have the pictures done so he suggested a beautiful park near by and he knew all the pretty spots to hit! My fiance and I have never had professional pictures done and were nervous about how to pose and look natural. Dennis knew just what to do! He was very easy to relax around and he kept us laughing the whole time! He told us how to position ourselves and caught beautiful pictures of us - he made us look like we had done it a thousand times before! When I met with him to pick out our favorite 10 pictures, I ended up buying more because I couldn't just pick 10... there were so many great ones! We are getting married in Massachusetts and I am so tempted to fly him up there to photograph our wedding because he delivered more than we could ask for! He is so nice, easy to get in touch with and very flexible. We had to cancel a couple sessions due to weather and our weird work schedules and he worked with us every time. HIGHLY recommend!!

awesome experience
Dennis worked with us and really took his time capturing stunning pictures!! He was very funny and that made us genuinely laugh, which in turn made the pictures even better!!! Sometimes when posing for pictures, you can look “posed” but he captured very natural and beautiful shots!!!

Best Photographer Ever
Dennis did so much more than simply take our pictures. He choreographed us so far beyond anything we expected, and kept us laughing all day. We did what he told us, and can't say enough awesome things about how the day, and our pictures, turned out.

Dennis is GREAT!
We aren't from the Charleston area and we decided to get married there. Our photographer from home couldn't come on the date we chose, so Cori from Charleston Intimate Ceremonies recommended Dennis... we are SO glad we took Cori's advice. Dennis is one of the best photographers we have worked with. He makes sure that you are having fun and keeps the mood light. Our wedding was at 3 PM, and around 8 PM that night, Dennis came to our hotel to show us the photos and let us decide which ones we liked, which we really enjoyed. He also made a short video of our wedding. Dennis was great to work with, and we received more than we imagined!

My husband and I planned a last minute elopement while visiting Charleston and Dennis was able to capture that moment beautifully. He's impressive and the best of the best at what he does and it shows. He's professional and makes you feel comfortable and beautiful in front of the camera. When we were looking for a photographer for our engagement pictures, we really wanted someone that would have fun with the process and make us feel comfortable. Dennis made jokes the whole time and put us at ease. He would explain the pictures he was taking and show us as we went along, which helped us since we could see the pictures and knew they were turning out well. He was very responsive through the scheduling process and we even got a few pictures the next day already edited! We’ve already had friends in contact with him for their shoots because he did such a great job. I would absolutely recommend him!!
