    Great experience

I had a really good experience at this bridal salon. I went ~2 weeks after Blacksburg homecoming at 10 am on a Saturday and I was the only one there. I was helped by Meredith and Tracy. They were both extremely helpful and knew when to suggest dresses and when to let me pick my own to try on. They also pretty quickly picked up on my style and what I was looking for so they were able to suggest real options I actually liked.

They were also not pushy when I said I needed some time to think it over but made sure I had all the information I needed to order the dress I had picked.

Even though I went by myself they were really helpful in getting me into the dresses (I get that this is probably not the best part of the job but I really appreciated the help) and didn’t make me feel awkward for not having people with me.

Basically I really appreciated the help that Meredith and Tracy gave me and they made the experience really great.

My family was on vacation to get some wedding planning done and have a weekend away and we stumbled into Chantilly Lace. Gorgeous store and an adorable family run business. My dress didn't fit when we came back for the fitting and they were able to do the alterations in less than 24 hours and had a fitting with the seamstress without any extra charge!

I was beyond happy with my experience at Chantilly Lace. They had a surprisingly large selection of amazing wedding gowns that I had seen online. Brenna was so nice and such a huge help! She truly made me feel special. They also held my dress and veil until right before the wedding day. They made sure they were steamed and ready to go, which was a huge bonus. I highly recommend them!

To say I loved shopping at Chantilly Lace is an understatement. I loved the staff; they went above all expectations that I had from a dress shop. When searching for my gown, Brenna, the store manager, saw what I was saying about previous gowns and found one that met all my expectations and wants. I wanted no beading on my veil, so she called the manufacturer to make sure this was possible before ordering it. I loved their service so much that I came back to order my shoes from them as well. She even remembered my name months after ordering the dress, veil and shoes. Seriously the best dress place I've seen and I would totally come back for all formal needs if I was still living in the area.

Anyone looking to get a wedding dress in the NRV, Roanoke, or surrounding areas NEEDS to check out Chantilly Lace. The selection they have is so unique- each dress is different and extremely tasteful. I went to all of the dress shops in our area and no one had dresses like Chantilly Lace. They carry beautiful designer brands and had no trouble at all helping me find the most beautiful dress in my budget. Brenna is the manager of the store and she is absolutely spectacular. I can't count how many times we went in the store just to try my dress on, get fitted, look for accessories, look at veils, look at bridesmaids dresses, etc. etc. and she was always there, ready to help, and went out of her way to do so. She even wrote a sweet note and left it with my dad when he picked up my wedding dress. Thank you all for making my dress experience so much sweeter! I highly recommend finding your dress at Chantilly Lace!

I had found a wedding dress I loved but everywhere I looked the dress was not available or too over-priced until I called Chantilly Lace. I found the wedding dress I fell in love with and it was almost half the cost of another wedding boutique. The cost for alterations was also very affordable. The seamstress was super friendly and worked with my busy work schedule to get fittings done.

This has been the most amazing part of my bridal expierience. Lots of dress options! Angel is amazing! She helped me try on dresses the first day and made it so much fun. She gave suggestions in such a caring way! I fell in love with my dress and since she has done the alterations and each visit she has been so a caring and sweet. I love chantilly lace!

For any VT brides, this is the place! I got my dress here and they were so so helpful! They pulled about 6 more dresses for me even after I thought I had found my dress because they wanted to make absolutely sure I had tried on everything I wanted to. I found this dress in my hometown on break for the same price, but bought it at Chantilly Lace because they were so wonderful.

    Go check them out :)

I absolutely loved the dress I got from Chantilly Lace. I thought it would be a long-shot to expect getting an affordable dress that was exactly what I was hoping for, especially at a local boutique. Chantilly Lace had a TON of dresses to choose from, which I was surprised by - I had no idea they could fit that many dresses in their store. The service was excellent and they did my alterations very quickly (within about a week). Definitely give this boutique a shot before checking the larger stores. It was worth it for me!

I had so much fun picking out my wedding dress from Chantilly Lace! It definitely wasn't what I was expecting since you don't need to make an appointment and you aren't actually working with a consultant. You pretty much just go in a try on whatever you want. The consultants are there if you need help picking out a dress but my sisters and I had so much fun just grabbing whatever we wanted! I found the perfect dress there and it was so easy working with the employees there! They don't even mind if you come in to just try on your dress, I did that several times before we actually started alterations!

Never disappointed with the selection or service here. I got my wedding dress and jr b-maid dress at Chantilly Lace, as well as our tuxes. If my bridesmaids hadn't been spread across the east coast, I would have bought them from CL too. And after the service I received at a large national chain, I wish I had just taken the girls' measurements and ordered from CL. The service was never disappointing. When parts of the tuxes didn't fit just right, replacements were in the next day. My dress was ready months before the big day and they held it for me. The jr b-maid dress didn't come in until 3 days before the wedding - but what service! Brittany waited on the dress from the fed ex guy who was 2 hours late that day, steamed it, and met me with it. I can't say enough about the personal service provided by CL. I'd recommend to anyone.

Dress was perfect. Alterations went smoothly and everything was done on time. My dress was also very reasonably priced...it looked like it cost a lot more than it actually did.

My sister and I went into Chantilly Lace a few Saturday's ago, not even expecting for me to try anything on. Then this nice salesperson started asking me questions about my wedding day. She told me I should try a few on while we were there after talking about our venue and date. I told her what I imagined and she pulled a few others.
Long story short, I found my dress that day! Chantilly Lace had a great selection of what I was looking for and Kristen was exceptional helping me with every step-including a perfect veil and jewelry to match! She also told me I should wear a small hairpiece so that when I take my veil off I will still have something beautiful in my hair for the rest of the night-something I didn't picture and would have never thought of but LOVED. I ended up paying for the dress that day and I wouldn't have even tried any on had it not been for her. Definitely check out the dresses here!

I tried on many many dresses at numerous different boutiques. I live right outside of Washington DC and found the boutiques here very stuffy and pretenious. I went to this boutique due to location and they were one of the only boutiques that carried the line I wanted on the Easy Coast. The woman who helped me there was perfect. She bent over backwards to help me and made me feel gorgeous. All the fittings were great and the price that they gave me for my dress was $400 cheaper than the same dress was in DC.

The only downside was that I had an appointment for a fitting at right around the same time as prom. The place was PACKED with high school girls and because they had already made the sale with me for my dress, I got very limated attention and was frustrated when I left that day.

The day of my wedding my dress looked perfect. They dyed my shoes and they were a perfect match. I also had them preserve my dress and was overall very happy with Chantilly Lace.

As soon as I knew Bob & I were getting married and had only 6 weeks to get it planned and exitcuted, my first thing was to chose my dress and wedding colors. Since we live in Narrows, VA, we really did not want to drive all the way to Roanoke. We were in Blacksburg doing our usual Tuesday errands with my 92 year old father and had decided we better start shopping for my dress. We went everywhere, all the dress shops and department stores in the mall, Nicky's re-sale, TJ Maxx, Ross, First & Main shops...needless to say we were exhausted and found nothing that suited me. Mind you, I was not looking for a traditional white wedding gown as I have been married before. I just wanted something pretty and a bit dressy, but I did not want to look like a "mother fo the bride" nor like I was going to the prom! As we headed back towards Narrows,Bob suggested we stop by Chantilly Lace on our way home. I was reluctant but agreed. Brittney, the awesome sales gal there remembered us from our friend's wedding back in May, Bob had rented his suit there. She proceeded to tell us there was a minimum of 2 months to order a dress! Yikes! We did not have 2 months! She was helpful in saying that we were welcome to browse around and see if we could find something off the rack. Depressed and exhausted, I was just walking around in circles when I heard, "Honey, what is your size again?" I turned and there was Bob holding up a couple of beautiful long dresses that definately interested me. He found the mother load. One rack full of dresses my size! We picked four dresses and the last one was PREFECT! No alterations needed, and the color was just right for a Fall wedding. As we walked up to the counter to purchase the dress, Brittney really made our day when she not only wrapped up the dress so carefully, but she gave us an incredible price for it. Thank you, Chantilly Lace and Brittney for helping me and making me a very happy bride! Jan Shawhan-Martin

I bought my wedding dress at Chantilly Lace. The manager was always so nice and very helpful. The tiara I bought had some missing stones and they tried to re-order it but it was discontinued, so they gave me some money off of that, which was good. When we picked up the dress for the bridal portraits some of the things that needed to be fixed (bustle, broken string on corset, etc.) but it turned out okay. They fixed it in time for the wedding. The day of the wedding my zipper broke, very cheap zipper, so that was very annoying, but we made it work and Chantilly fixed it after the wedding just so I could keep it for some reason for the future. The manager was awesome, just want to point that out again!

I did my first round of trying on dresses here. I tried on wedding dresses one day with an appointment and went in as a walk-in with one of my bridesmaids the next day to try on bridesmaid dress. The woman helping me was great at helping me narrow down my style of dresses. They didn't ask for my budget when I went in, so I did end up trying on dresses not realizing they were out of my set budget, but the experience gave me a great idea on what style I wanted. The bridesmaid dresses were reasonably priced as well! They had ideas on how to get me the dress if I ordered there since I now live out of state (partially trying to sell the dress, I think) and they offer a 10% discount for bridesmaids if the bride buys her dress there. Overall, a great shop. I ended up getting my dress closer to home, but was pleased with the service and selection they offered here and would recommend them to anyone else.

I went here first and found several dresses I liked. I ended up with the perfect dress from here and they were a great help. They also did the alterations which was actually just a hem and a bustle. I also bought my veil and headband from here. I would definitely recommend them to other brides!

After trying on lots of dresses at a lot of other places, I ended up going right across the street to Chantilly Lace. I found my dream dress and was so happy. The dress was gorgeous and they had lots of options. I eventually bought my veil and head pieces from them. I loved working with them however, I would recommend ordering your pieces well ahead of time. They actually ordered me the wrong piece and I didn't get it for the wedding. I got the veil but very late, and wasn't able to use it for my bridal portraits. They worked with me to try to get everything to me, including willingly offering overnight shipping etc. I ended up getting the veil and the headpiece on the day of but only got one headpiece (since they had ordered the wrong thing). They refunded me for both headpieces and overall were very nice to work with. The store associates and employees are genuinely delightful and great. However, if you have to speak to the owner - I hope that you don't have to do it at a time that is stressful or if you are upset with the store because she was terrible to speak with. I was never a stressed out Bride or Bridezilla, I never yelled at them or was upset. I kept my composure and yet the owner basically screamed through the phone and was very high strung. She was extremely stressful and I don't want to work with her ever again.
Over all, I would definitely recommend Chantilly Lace - they have good customer service, their dresses and accessories are beautiful, they have extremely affordable tailoring (only cost me around $20 to alter my wedding dress which is basically unheard of), their associates are very friendly, fun and knowledgeable. Just order ahead of time, and hopefully you don't have to interact with the owner. They are a great local business, which I was happy to support!

I loved the dress I found there! The owner of the place isn't very nice though, but she may have just been having a bad day - she does run two stores. Anyway, all was fine except for trying to schedule fittings since there's only one person there who is allowed to do them, and she was constantly on vacation. The prices are good though! The selection is great too.

If you are living in Blacksburg, Chantilly Lace is a no brainer. They have a wide variety of dresses from a multiple designers at very reasonable prices. The staff is knowledgeable and very professional though sometimes not particularly friendly. However, they are very clear and easy to work with. If you are a non-traditional bride (I wore blue shoes- they were shocked) be prepared for a little resistance but just ignore that and you'll be fine. As I said before the dresses are great. I looked a other places both in the area and in Los Angeles (where I was living) and chose Chantilly Lace.

At the beginning of the process, Chantilly Lace was very helpful. I ended up wanting a dress that had been discontinued and Brenna made quite a few phone calls for me to find it and even texted me after hours to give me an update like she promised.
However, toward the end, I ended up having to go to 3 different appointments just to get the bustle right. It turned out fine, but I was very unsatisfied with their communication and organization. I called ahead of each appointment to make sure everything was ready only to show up and see that nothing was done.
I am very unhappy with the seamstresses, the communication within the shop, and the lack of punctuality.
However, Brenna was very friendly and helpful to make things right.

I found my dress at Chantilly Lace on a whim. The salesgirl was extremely friendly and helpful when I bought it. When I returned for alterations, the owner exhibited none of those qualities. I had a couple of fittings over the months to get the dress exactly right. At each one, the shop was running behind (sometimes 20 minutes or so). While the alterations turned out perfectly, interacting with the owner was a very unpleasant experience. She was very quick to brush off my opinion.

As we all know, there aren't too many options in Blacksburg. I have gone to Chantilly for all of my prom dresses and bridesmaid dresses so when it came time to get my wedding dress altered, I knew that their seamstresses always do a really good job (although it is a bit pricey). If you are just looking for great alterations, this is the place to go. However, if you are looking for a sweet, friendly staff to help you select your perfect dress, look elsewhere. The woman that owns this place is always pretty hateful and made many passive aggressive comments to my friends and I over the years. As a previous reviewer said, watch out if you are fairly nontraditional or in my case, getting a dress altered there that you purchased elsewhere. My dress was a couture brand that they don't carry and had a detachable train (so the rest of the dress needed to be hemmed evenly around). The owner did my fitting and kept trying to convince me to leave it longer in the back. I kept telling her 'no, this is how it is supposed to be'. Finally, I got my point across but it was super irritating. Like I said though, other than that, the alterations are great, and the selection for dresses is good considering it's Blacksburg.

Selection and quality of merchandise is very good, as was the quality of the alterations I received. However, staff members did not seem very supportive or flexible. It was often hard to get assistance when needed. Prices were about average.

I would NOT recommend Chantilly Lace to anyone. Through the entire wedding planning process this is the only vendor I dealt with where I was treated poorly AND given bad service.

I'll say the "good" things first: Their price to alter the dress was very low, even after the $35 service charge for altering a dress from a different store. I can't give them high marks for Value for Cost though because I ended up paying more to have their work redone. I got absolutely 0 value for the cost. Also they had one employee who treated me very nicely the two times I was lucky enough for her to be in while I was there - I think her name may have been Terra(?) and I really appreciated her helpfulness.

So, from the beginning: I called them when I was looking for my wedding dress and was spoken to very rudely when I asked if they had any non-traditional, short dresses. They suggested maybe I could just wear a white bridesmaid dress. I got my dress elsewhere (Justin Alexander Pure collection - knee length just the way I wanted it) but had it shipped to me for alterations. My normal seamstress suddenly had to close her shop for family reasons, and the only other place in Blacksburg I knew that did bridal alterations was Chantilly Lace... The dress was too big on me, but the seamstress at Chantilly Lace said she could handle it. At the second fitting all she had done was take it in at the shoulders, so the entire body of the dress was still way too loose. She said it looked fine even though it looked horrible (the bust had approx. 4 extra inches), then she said there was nothing more that could be done so I might as well take it as it was, then when one of my friends tugged it from the back and asked why fabric couldn't be taken out at the zipper she said something like "Oh, well, I guess I could do that..." She didn't seem like she knew was she was doing at all, and she certainly didn't care if I was satisfied with the work she did. I left the store trying not to cry, convinced that my dress was ruined and I would have nothing to wear on my wedding day. At a friend's urging I took my dress to another seamstress in Roanoke, Alterations by Lynda, who did an amazing job salvaging my poor abused dress despite having a policy against re-altering dresses that other seamstresses have done bad jobs on. AND she was nice to me, which felt amazing after being treated like dirt at Chantilly Lace. I just wish I had taken it to her in the first place!

Visiting Chantilly Lace was a very disappointing experience. I booked the first appointment of the morning on a weekday. The employee who unlocked the shop was 10 minutes late and she didn't even know that they had an appointment that day. She asked what type of dress I wanted and she did a fairly good job of picking out dresses that suited my tastes; however, when it was time to try the dresses on, she put me in a room and walked away. I was left to my own devices to figure out how to put the dresses on and they didn't provide any type of petticoat to make the dresses flair out at all. She looked entirely disinterested in helping us and provided very little help throughout the whole process. There was one other employee in the store when I had my appointment and she helped us a little - she was much more engaged that our main saleswoman and she helped to salvage the appointment.

On a positive note, if you buy your dress here, your first alteration is free.
