Amazing! Highly recommend!

I have nothing but good things to say about Champagne Taste. I wanted food stations at my wedding and they delivered!!! The food was incredible and all my guests were raving about it. They offer such a wide variety of food options so there is something for everyone. The owner, Whitney, even worked with us on accommodating a tasting since we don’t live in Richmond before we even booked. Highly recommend!

Best catering for your wedding!

Whitney and her team goes above and beyond to make sure your food is how you and your fiancé want it to be. She will do multiple tastings to make sure you have the perfectly curated menu, she is great at consulting if you ask for her opinion. She makes sure your party is well fed and taken care of. Her staff was super responsible, professional, and friendly. We had many compliments it was the best wedding food my guests have ever had! I 100% recommend Whitney and her team for your special day!

Best service for an even better price!

As a 2024 bride, I often felt like the wedding market was taking advantage of me and my dreams for my wedding day. With Champagne Tastes, I didn't feel that way at all. Whitney and her team are truly the only catering service in the Richmond area that will do the amount of work they do for the price that they do it. Food is undoubtedly one of the most stressful and expensive parts of any wedding, and every step of the way, Whitney worked with us, was transparent about what works and doesn't work, and ultimately delivered a fabulous wedding feast. She also took my dream of a dumpling bar and made it a reality, and for that we will always be so so thankful! Throughout the entire process, it was clear to me that her priority was my husband and I, and to make sure my guests left full and happy. Thank you so much!

Amazing! As Always....

I knew about Champagne Taste because my brother used them for his wedding. There is a huge selection of food to choose from and help with any dietary restrictions. The food was amazing! Wedding guests complimented the food during and after the wedding. The staff is efficient and attentive. You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic!

Whitney was great! She was able to customize our wedding package at a reasonable price. We had a couple tastings and all the food was fantastic, our menu had slight differences then what we chose but the food was amazing so it didn’t matter at the end of the day! At the reception, her staff were on point with bartending and food. Thank you for the fantastic experience, I highly recommend Whitney and her team for your events!

Amazing Experience

We had an amazing experience using Champagne Taste Catering! Whitney, the owner, has created the perfect balance of great quality food at a very fair price point. She was able to customize our menu to perfectly meet our wedding needs. Her staff the day of the wedding was super professional and accommodating. Everything you want in a Wedding/Event Caterer!

As a couple that very much enjoys good food, we knew how important it was that we find a caterer that matched our passion! Oh did we find the one and everyone agreed! The professionalism shown from Whitney in the initial tastings, all the way through the night of the wedding was top notch! She provided all the Southern classics (shrimp & grits & pulled pork) for the Bride, taco station, carving and seafood stations, AND was also very agreeable in adding Turner Ham from the groom's family recipe for the ham biscuits! If food is important for your wedding I wouldn't recommend anyone other than Champagne Taste Catering! Thank you again!

Best-ever wedding food!

Champagne Taste served the best wedding food I have ever had. The appetizer and buffet items were unique and delicious. The appetizers on the edible spoons were amazing, as were the desserts (no traditional wedding cake). I cannot recommend them enough!

A pleasure!!

Whitney was wonderful to work with! We originally planned rich warm foods for our menu. A heat wave hit the week of the wedding and Whitney graciously shifted many of our dishes to cool foods! The watermelon salad, chicken kabobs and pecan crusted salmon were perfection on a 95 degree day! Our guests loved the light and fresh menu and complemented us all night! We also had diet restrictions, including the bride. Whitney kept track of them all and handled it flawlessly! We loved working with Champagne Taste!

Amazing from start to finish!

Words cannot express how grateful I am to Whitney and the Champagne Taste team! From our tasting to the end of the reception, everything was truly incredible. Uur friends and family have absolutely raved about how delicious all of the food was. They were incredibly accommodating of a variety of serious allergies and helped us decide on a menu where all of our guests, regardless of dietary restrictions, had multiple options from happy hour to dinner. At the end of the night, they provided us with a large cooler bag full of individually packaged food and snacks, so my husband and I were able to enjoy a late-night snack after a hectic day. Whitney was just lovely to work with and is incredibly responsive via email – she kindly guided us through a handful of 11th hour emergencies (like surprise vegan guests) or when I realized a few months before our wedding that we hadn’t arranged for rentals. I mostly appreciate her flexibility during the planning process, as COVID threw some less-than-ideal circumstances our way! Her staff was professional and kind and our plated dinner service went off without a hitch. Champagne Taste provided top notch service and we are so glad to have worked with them for our special day – I cannot recommend them highly enough!

It’s been a year since my May 2019 wedding, and people still rave about how amazing my food was! My husband and I knew Champagne Taste was the one for us as soon as we met Whitney and tasted her food. She was honest, realistic, and flexible, which I appreciate. Champagne Taste is top notch! Whitney was super fun to work with. We had a variety of dietary restrictions and she was very accommodating. We loved creating our menu with her and we received many compliments about the food from our guests. She also helped us with getting a rental quote and she even called and updated the order when we needed to.

Whitney and her team at Champagne Taste were truly a godsend! We had a brunch buffet which isn’t the wedding “norm” so our menu had to be different than the standard chicken/fish/beef menu. Whitney put together a variety of foods for us to try at our tasting (with mimosas, of course!) and we loved it all. Throughout the process, Whitney was very communicative of what she needed from us and she was so, so helpful in coordinating all of our rentals from Classic Party Rentals. She even helped us source some last-minute carafes for our mimosa bar. At the wedding itself, the buffet display was gorgeous and they knocked it out of the park with our mimosa and Bloody Mary bars. We were so happy with how everything turned out. I highly recommend using Champagne Taste for any event—you won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I were very impressed with Champagne Taste for our wedding day! The servers were very attentive and it was obvious teamwork is very important to them! Most importantly, the food was delicious and they even packed up the leftovers so neatly for us to enjoy later. We received so many compliments from our guests on how delicious the food was! From the very first tasting, I knew Whitney & Champagne Taste were the right choice for my daughter’s wedding. Whitney has such a fun personality and was totally open to working with us on the menu and budget. My daughter and I looked into several catering options and by far, Whitney allowed the most flexibility and was very reasonably priced. We had butlered hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour and a buffet meal during the reception. The food was excellent! Her staff was friendly and helpful and even ensured the bride & groom were served dinner right away. At the end of the night, Champagne Taste packed up the leftovers and also made a wonderful picnic basket for the bride & groom. Be sure to get the lamb meatballs and chicken with smoked gouda sauce. The guests are still raving about them! You will NOT be disappointed!

Whitney Fero is able to provide exceptional food and service at an affordable price. I received catering estimates from 8+ other companies, and Champagne Taste Catering was by far the best price and included a ton of extras. My fiance and my parents met Whitney for a tasting and we all are still raving about the food! Whitney is outgoing and energetic and it's obvious she really loves what she does. Unfortunately, we had to change our venue and had to use their required caterer, but Whitney will be my first choice for future events!

Whitney was amazing!!!! She met with us and answered multiple emails and questions, helped us with the rentals (many of which were last minute), and even sent us to the BEST day of coordinator. She worked with our budget, and was absolutely amazing. People were raving out the food the entire wedding!! And she handled some random guest requests that were unknown to me, without even letting me know. I HIGHLY recommend her for your event, and I would hire her in a heartbeat if I ever have another event!

Whitney Fero and her team were incredible to work with! I planned my wedding long distance, and Whitney was so accommodating for this! She answered all of my questions and emails very quickly and was very accommodating in getting us scheduled for a tasting on the one weekend we were in town! Our guests could not stop talking about how amazing the food was, and she even brought appetizers out for the wedding party to eat while we stayed outside to take all of the post ceremony pictures! They even boxed up a nice picnic dinner for my husband and I to take with us at the end of the night! They also boxed up the other leftovers and let my parents take them home!

We hired Whitney to cater the homecoming/reunion party for my husband's fraternity. He wanted to impress and Whitney sure did! The food was fabulous, the service impeccable, the presentation inspired! Everyone was so impressed that we still hear about the fabulous party at our house.
Whitney has fabulous suggestions for the menu and has a clear mind for logistics and organization. Everyone had a great time including me because I didn't have to worry about a thing.

Champagne Taste Catering did an amazing job catering my daughters wedding this past Saturday! We had 144 guests and heard numerous comments that the appetizers were the best they ever had. Scallops and shrimp were very fresh and substantial, crab cakes, prosciutto wraps with melon & asparagus were delicious too. Try the edible caprese spoons for a real treat. For dinner we chose the mixed greens with blue cheese,walnuts and berries, beef tenderloin and chicken marsala, roasted potatoes and green beans. Everything came to the table hot and again our guests commented on how delicious everything was. The staff was friendly, professional and accomodating and had everything running like a well oiled machine. Despite the heat following the outdoor ceremony the staff was ready for guests as they entered the reception even offering glasses of prosecco and cold beer to adult guests. It was a nice touch and I want to thank Whitney for the idea. It slowed the rush to the two bars and guests could easily chose another cocktail if desired. Finally the staff picked up everything and I never noticed anything while they worked proving how efficient they are. I would highly recommend Champagne Taste and I hope to have another occasion to hire them again.

As soon as my daughter became engaged, the "To Do" list started to form. A friend recommended Champagne Taste Catering as a possible caterer. I contacted the owner, Whitney Fero, to discuss our ideas for the reception. I was immediately impressed with Whitey's responses to my questions and her professional advice regarding a reception for 200+ guests. After speaking with Whitney, I made a tasting appointment. The day of our tasting we tried appetizers, entrees and accompaniments. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. We even had leftovers to take home. Whitney made our tasting very personal and never made us feel rushed. There was no question - Champagne Taste Catering would cater our daughter's wedding. Over the next ten months, Whitney met us at the wedding venue, answered numerous questions and provided us unending support and advice. The wedding day was here! Whitney and her staff arrived 3 hours prior to the wedding and did not stop until the wedding reception ended. We really appreciated the way Whitney made the newlyweds her priority. Immediately after the ceremony she brought them their signature cocktails while we were taking pictures. She also personally checked on them when they arrived at the reception tent. Her staff also made sure that the wedding party table was served first during the family style dinner. After the reception Whitney and her staff prepared a wonderful take-home bag with each of the foods and desserts from our menu. Our guests were so complimentary about Whitney and her staff, the amazing food and the incredible customer service. Our guests told us that this was the best food and service they have ever had at a wedding reception. This personal and professional service made us feel like a friend had helped us cater the wedding. We were blessed to find Whitney Fero. I would highly recommend Champagne Taste Catering and Whitney Fero for any of your catering needs. She is one in a million!!!

Whitney and the team at Champagne Taste are absolutely GREAT! Everything they have tastes like nothing you have had before and our guests left with full bellies and huge smiles on their faces! Whitney and her staff were just amazing to work with and provide an exceptional product. I had a very specific vision of the type of food I wanted that involved many options, action stations, and shrunken comfort food. Upon meeting Whitney, I explained and she just nailed everything. We really enjoyed our first in person meeting with her at the kitchen in Ashland where I feel like we sampled everything they make. I'd mentioned a mini chicken pot pie in passing and she created one and it was fantastic.

Our wedding was on May 17 and I'm writing this review in December and we're still receiving compliments about the food. That's exactly what I was shooting for. Whitney absolutely knows what she's doing--listen to her suggestions and recommendations and trust her. What a great vendor!!

Champagne Taste was amazing for our wedding. I have a food allergy that is challenging for events like this, and I always feared not being able to eat the food at my own wedding. Whitney was incredible to work with, paid specific attention to the food I could eat and couldn't eat and even made dairy-free southern biscuits for me to be able to eat at our reception. I could eat EVERYTHING that they served, which was amazing, because they made everything allergy-friendly for me! I had no fears of having an allergic reaction at my own wedding reception. Plus, guests could not tell the difference and raved about the food. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

We were lucky and fortunate enough to be referred to Whitney and Champagne Taste from a friend who is "in the business." My husband and I got married May 3rd in Richmond. Living in New York and planning an out of state wedding could have been challenging, but Whitney and her staff made the planning process simple. They are super talented and professional. I was a MOH in my best friend's wedding and she used Champagne Taste, I loved the food so much that I went with them for our wedding over a year later.

From the moment we started working together I felt like I had her undivided attention. The company is based out of Richmond, VA. My wedding was in D.C. Their menu is vast and she is willing to make pretty much anything you want. I opted for a family style meal for our wedding. We had two entrees and 4 sides for dinner. We also had 6 passed apps during cocktail hour. The food was great! And there was plenty of it! I was one of those brides who actually ate at my wedding and I am glad I did! Everything was hot, the service was professional and friendly, and the value is exceptional. There are no hidden fees with Champagne Taste Catering which is a relief when you are being nickle and dimed for everything else regarding your wedding! Not only did I have Whitney at the helm cooking but I also had an event manager who worked with my planner to make sure everything went smoothly. All in all, I highly recommend them!

We had a wedding at Berkeley Plantation with over 100 guests. It was outdoor venue. Prior to the wedding, the owner, Whitney, was extremely responsive and helpful and right on point in planning the event. The staff provided the set up of all the equipment including tables, chairs, bar areas, food stations, etc. The bartenders were well prepared and ensured there was no backup in serving the guests. The appetizers were butlered by her staff and they were served at the proper temperature with no waiting. The meal was well presented and plentiful and served at the appropriate temperature. The food itself was delicious, far exceeding expectations. The staff cleaned up afterward and made sure the venue was left as they first found it. We highly recommend this company...you will be extremely pleased if you choose it.

Not a whole lot to say here. We had Whitney and her crew for Thursday night (ceremony, family dinner), Friday night (party for out of town guests) and Saturday (reception), and they killed it all three times.

Our guests raved about the food; they were excellent with their service, and Whitney made sure we had nothing to worry about on wedding day. Condiments, mixers, etc - she said she'd bring and did. Worries about running out of alcohol? She told me don't even think about it, if things got low, she would have someone sent out (luckily that didn't happen, but it is comforting to know that was taken care of).

I'd highly recommend.

Whitney was the first vendor I met with and I am so glad I met with her first. She recommended all of her favorite vendors and made sure I got the best service from beginning to end. I can not thank Champagne Taste enough for their efforts during my wedding. Whitney and her staff are incredible and will help to keep any bride at ease. The food is absolutely delicious, (my guest are still talking about how much they enjoyed it) they're prompt when replying back to any calls or emails, and take such care in how they treat their customers. I planned my wedding myself which was enjoyable but having someone as experienced as Whitney to walk me through really helped to reduce my stress and feel comfortable on my wedding day. I can't wait to have another event just so I can hire Whitney again!! Trust me I went to many different caterers in the Richmond area and nothing beats Champagne Taste!

Whitney was amazing, her food selection was fantastic, she was flexible, and we were able to customize the menu so everything was just the way we wanted. Whitney is amazing. No words will do justice. She assisted me in planning my wedding from California all thru emails, Skype and even a coincidental trip to San Francisco (perfect timing). Her food is very well presented, priced fairly (actually cheap!) and service was impeccable. She insisted that I was fed properly throughout the party (Thanks Whitney!!) and her to-go basket saved my life (at 3am in the hotel room!). She had all her staff in masks (Masquerade Ball themed wedding) and she facilitated the logistics between all vendor (she was a wedding planner in the end!).
I would hire her again and again. Too bad my next wedding in in Brazil and she is going as a guest now. I miss her food!

I worked with Whitney from A Champagne Taste. She was great! She even coordinated with the Rental Company for the linens and eveything! The reception was beautiful. Whitney provided a creative, DELICIOUS menu for my reception at an old train station - a location with unique challenges for catering. She and her staff handled it beautifully, and created a beautiful and tasty spread that the guests all raved about! Unfortunately, we did have an issue with one rude staff member at the bar, but Whitney did everything in her power to make it right, and I'd say she even went above and beyond the call of duty to do so. The food was wonderful and planning with Whitney was FUN - she allows you to be creative and can really make most things happen if you can dream them up. She is also SO reasonably-priced - by far the most reasonable of the 4 caterers we looked at in Richmond, and also with the best food! Loved working with her and would do it again in a heartbeat.

We had Champagne Taste Catering provide the food for our wedding reception and it was, in a word: Phenomenal! We were able to customize our food offerings based on our own taste and even made some pretty crazy special requests that Whitney pulled off beautifully! Whitney Fero's staff is professional, courteous and really looks after you on your important day. Whitney went above and beyond for us and I am so grateful that I had such an amazing experience with her. The guests at my wedding are still talking about how wonderful the food was. And if they only knew what I paid for it--Whitney was by far the most reasonable caterer I interviewed. Hands down. My parents celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary and it was catered by Champagne Taste. Whitney and the staff at Champagne Taste are amazing! Food was fantastic, and service was outstanding. The serving staff took away all my stress and handled everything, which left me to enjoy the day with all the family. Whitney and Champagne Taste Catering were fabulous during my wedding last New Year's Eve. Despite my guests showing up very early, Whitney and her staff were on top of every step of the wedding, including the wedding, food prepped (and delicious!), and the bar staffed with a bartender who kept everyone's glasses filled! She coordinated with my wedding planner, the DJ, and me many times throughout the evening to ensure things were moving smoothly. My cake plates disappeared directly before my wedding, and she had extra plates there to cover it! Finally, she is very willing to work with you on what you can receive for your budget, giving you the most for your money!

I cannot say enough good things about Champagne Taste Catering. Many months ago I was asked to coordinate my Nieces Reception and took that occassion to call Whitney to go over some details and it took just a few minutes to realize that my nieces Wedding Catering and service was in VERY good hands. Because I was located serveral hours away from Richmond, I only was able to trade phone calls and emails, but I found every question and request promptly answered or explained.
The day before the wedding Champagne Taste site coordinator Tammy, met me at the reception site and proceeded to get the Hall into tip top shape.
The day of the wedding, as our family was at the church, Whitney kept me informed (via text) as to what other vendors had arrived and when they had finished, and when I arrived at the reception hall, I could scarcely believe it was the same place I had walked into the morning before.
And the FOOD!, It was the best wedding food I had ever tasted,and there wasnt anyone there that didnt rave about it.
Between the helpful, confident staff, and the wonderful food, you cannot go wrong with this company, hiring Champagne Taste for your wedding catering wont just bring you "yummy food" it will bring you something everyone needs on a wedding day-piece of mind.

Champagne Taste provided a truly delicous and diverse brunch buffet for our reception. We are still hearing amazing things about the food at our wedding! We interviewed a lot of different caterers and we fell in love with Whitney the first time we met her and tasted her food. She was very easy to work with and was quick to try figure out how to work in all of our requests - which she did fabulously! I was amazed at how much food we had for what we paid - I think many of the guests were stuffed from the appetizers before they even got out to dinner. But we have had so many rave reviews and we coudln't have been happier! Her staff was amazing too and definitely helped to make our wedding a success!

I will be recommending Champagne Taste Catering to anyone I personally know that needs a caterer in the Richmond area from this day forward. All around the service was phenomnenal.

First off, the food is delicious, and I feel that is saying something because I can be a bit of a food snob when it comes to wedding food. And the food served at our wedding tasted exactly the same as when we tasted it during our consultation. I've gotten several compliments from our guests about how delicious the food was. Also, the prices they offer are incredibly reasonable, and much cheaper than other caterers in the area. I'm not exactly sure how they are able to provide such high quality food and service for such a low cost, but it was great for us since we were foodies on a budget.

Whitney Fero, the owner, was amazing to work with. She was incredibly flexible with our menu, and let us to quite a few tastings before deciding on our menu. My now husband was put on a gluten free diet after we had finalized our menu, and I was afraid he wouldn't be able to eat much of the food we had chosen for the wedding. I let Whitney know, and without any trouble she modified all of our dishes to be gluten free (with the exception of one that couldn't be modified) so that we didn't have to change the menu we had worked so hard to decide on.

Also, we found the advice given by Whitney as early as our first meeting to be super helpful. Other caterers we met with pretty much just presented us with food and called it a day. Whitney asked us tons of thought provoking questions and gave us a ton of great ideas for how to use the food to make our wedding better. For example, she presented the idea of a signature drink to make sure we didn't have lines at the bar. We loved that she used her experience and provided services to really make sure that our wedding was amazing all around, and her services really went beyond just providing tasty food (even though the food was still very very tasty).

Champagne Taste was highly recommended by our planner, and we're so glad that we took that advice. We planned our wedding from out-of-town, and Whitney worked on our tight schedule - she got us in for a tasting the day after we first called her! Whitney acted as a second wedding planner, helping with the floorplans and logistics of the day (our event involved a room-flip, cocktail hour, and two-story venue), as well as coordinating with our venue and rental house. Whitney made sure that we some of each dish was boxed up in to-go containers for late-night snacking or breakfast the morning after (you really don't eat much on the wedding day!), and her staff helped us donate leftovers to a food bank. Whitney is efficient with her communication, and we didn't love two (of six) appetizers, but we have no reservations about recommending Champagne Taste. Service at the event was exceptional, and our dinner was delicious.

I got married in Charlottesville, VA where almost all of the caterers were out of my price range. I decided to expand my search to Richmond and was so glad that I did. A friend of a friend recommended Whitney. Working with Whitney was great, the food was amazing (everyone raved about it afterwards!), and Whitney was willing to work within my budget. Whitney has a huge list of menu items, everything was super delicious, her team was very professional, and they handled everything (set up, bar service, specialty cocktails, dinner service, and clean up). Whitney even let me bring the alcohol to her house a couple of days before since we were buying everything. We chose to do family style, which Whitney and her team executed flawlessly. If you hire Whitney, make sure to do the crab cakes...my family is still talking about them! I'm so glad that I hired Whitney and would recommend her to anyone!

Champagne Taste provided excellent food for our wedding. Whitney was friendly and flexible, and she actually came out to our Charlottesville venue to do a walk-through so that she could be approved as our caterer. The food was very tasty, and I got lots of complements from guests on how good it was. The catering staff was friendly and great to work with on the wedding day. There were a few miscommunications between my venue and Whitney (owner of Champagne Taste), but other than that I had a great experience. High quality food for a very reasonable price.

Best Wedding Food Ever!

My husband and I have been to lots of weddings and we knew we wanted the food at ours to stand out. Aside from the ceremony, that is what we have found we remember most from the weddings we have attended. Everything provided by Champagne Taste Catering for our own wedding day was simply wonderful. The food was probably one of the most talked about things at our wedding and we had tons of guests tell us it was the best wedding food they had ever had!

From the start Whitney, my husband, and I all clicked. She was so accommodating to us (the first tasting she brought food to our house!) and helpful in planning the menu. We ended up going with stations and I'm so glad we did. Our reception space was larger and the stations helped fill the room. The food tasted amazing, we even thought it was better than what we had at the tastings (which normally doesn't happen!).

I really think Whitney is a gem in the world of caterers. She is a no frills kind of person and the quality of her food is simply amazing. You can tell she is passionate about what she does. Her staff is also wonderful. They were so attentive to my husband and I as well as our bridal party. They brought drinks and appetizers out to us while we were taking our formal family pictures. All night the staff checked on us and made sure my husband and I were well cared for and had the drinks we wanted. They brought us plates of food from the stations to make sure we got to try some of everything, and at the end of the night provided a beautiful take away bag for us filled with food goodies! Whitney really has a wonderful team and we can't thank them enough.

Whitney was the first caterer that I contacted. She beat all other caterers for price and uniqueness of menu options. We ended up using Champagne Taste Catering over the other preferred caterers even though we had to pay our venue an extra fee. Whitney's food tastes amazing. She makes amazing crab cakes and a crab stuff chicken dish. If it were up to my husband and I we would have had seafood in everything, which is totally an option with their food. We ended up going with an upscale coastal southern theme, which Whitney was able to make suggestions and create items not part of her large menu options. Although there was a miscommunication with her staff, which led to a small delay in the start of our reception, Whitney quickly corrected the issue. Every single one of my guests mentioned how great our food was; there was something for everyone. Whitney also made sure that my husband and I were well taken care of, bringing us each a plate of food with a little bit of everything on it. She also brought out a plate for a guest who is wheelchair bound. There was plenty of food; no one went hungry. We even got to take a large amount of leftovers home with us. The food and service was great, the price was awesome, and we would definitely recommend Champagne Taste Catering.

This review is a year overdue! Whitney was very accommodating during the wedding planning process- she did multiple tastings for us and our families (we were planning from a distance). We really liked Whitney and the food was delicious, and her prices can't be beat. What was a little disappointing- she rushed through the walk through with our planner to go to another event, and then the day of the wedding a number of things did not go the way we had discussed. The buffet was set up differently/ kind of in an odd way. We had said that we wanted wine service at the tables during dinner, and there were definitely not enough servers for that- my parents table didn't have champagne during our toast. Also one dish was missing (minor detail as there was plenty of food). One thing that really bothered me was that the servers all looked like they were in kind of funky prep clothes, like they had forgotten to change. I didn't want or need servers in jackets and bow ties, but they just looked unprofessional. They also weren't prepared at the bar- the bartender had to go to the back and cut limes when I asked for some- and then he served them to us on a very dirty looking dish towel which really really really grossed me out. I think part of the problem was that Whitney was not there to manage the event (which we knew- she had already committed to another event that day). She knows her stuff, but I would also advise getting some details in writing in the contract, especially regarding how many servers will be at the event. Whitney was very responsive to email during the planning of the event, but did not respond to me afterward when I emailed her about some of the issues from the day of.

I waited a long time to write this to see if I would feel differently. We were very happy in the planning with Champagne Taste but day of they dropped the ball. We were promised great things during planning like someone assigned to make sure we got to try our appetizers day of, someone to make sure we got to eat, I wanted leftovers packed up since I was paying for them, etc. On day of we got no appetizers and two that we paid for were not served (we were told because our timeline changed- it changed by 15 minutes shouldn't a caterer be used to this??) Coincidence it was the two most expensive??, I am a vegetarian and made this clear to them and a vegetarian guest count. They served me meat and then didn't have enough vegetarian meals. My guests complained of their food being cold. I brought three large drink dispensers and they broke one of them. I expected some glasses etc to get broke but not this large or expensive an item. My wedding was in a tent and I paid to have a wall draped and lighted as a back drop by a rental company. They decided to open this wall as their walk through because it was sprinkling outside (couldn't use any of the three other sides or doors). I had 27 guests not show up and we got almost no leftovers and some tables complained of being told they couldn't have some items or not being given some items. When I contacted the owner after the fact about this she did nothing but make excuses for her staff. I had guests their who work for other catering companies and even they said the ball was definitely dropped. This was my biggest let down of my wedding day. If I did the whole thing again I would insist that the owner be present to supervise because I think things would have gone different or pick a different caterer. I feel like my friends who used different caterers got a lot more for a lot less.
