James is a total professional and a master of their craft! We loved the aesthetic and sound of the vinyl sets; it felt so much more personal and intentional than a standard wedding DJ. When planning our wedding, great music was one of the most important things and we specifically wanted someone who spun vinyl, James absolutely delivered. He created an incredible atmosphere during dinner and then transitioned into a full-on dance party. The dance floor was packed from the first song to the last, and we had multiple guests tell us they loved the music. James was easy to work with, understood our 'must-plays,' and made the night unforgettable, we are so happy we picked him! -

PSA: you should only hire Ceremony DJs if you want the music to be the highlight of your wedding. So many of our friends and family told us that the music blew them away. From the beginning of our cocktail hour to the last song, Benji threw down... all while staying within the parameters of the music that we like and providing a ton of variety along the way. He would also chatting with some of our drunk friends that just wanted to nerd out about music and vinyl; truly a great emcee and entertainer. He did a great job of reading the room and keeping the energy high -- exactly what we wanted.
Working with Benji and Jamie leading up to the wedding was both enjoyable and easy. They didn't put too much pressure on us to curate a perfect playlist or anything like that. They made it clear from the beginning that you can really give them as much direction as you want. Trust them; they are true professionals who know what they're doing. I would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding where the music is truly a point of emphasis. -

Jamie and his team at Ceremony DJs are consummate professionals. We were looking for someone to curate the vibe for our laid back wedding, and they brought exactly what we were looking for! At our first meeting, Jamie and Benji came prepared with what was clearly comprehensive, hard-earned knowledge about all of the complexities of coordinating weddings, along with in-depth knowledge of soul music. They were ready to plan for every contingency, and happy to talk us through even things we hadn't thought of before.
On our wedding day, Benji ran through an incredible set of music that was exactly what we were looking for. All of our guests were thrilled with the music selection, and the experience that they had. If I had another event, I would be overjoyed to work with this crew again. -

Jamie was great at our wedding! He played great music the entire night that matched the vibe and energy of us and our guests - without having to give him a song by song playlist (our friends actually told us it was the best music they have ever heard at a wedding). He was easy to work with, and clearly passionate about his craft. The dance floor was truly the highlight of the night. Other than a couple snags with the mic during the ceremony, everything went on without a hitch.. and his sound system is incredible. We would definitely hire him again! -

We recently got married and had Benji from Ceremony DJs handling the music for the rehearsal dinner and the big day—he was fantastic! The music all weekend was spot-on, keeping the energy high and everyone dancing. Benji's such a great guy, a true professional, and we were thrilled to have him there.
From the beginning, working with Benji and James was excellent—they broke down the whole wedding flow step by step, no rush, and really excelled at curating playlists that fit us and our crowd perfectly. They put in serious effort to make it all feel personal.
Our friends and family kept complimenting the DJ being top-notch, A+ all the way, and we're still hearing about it weeks later. Benji's energy and smooth mixes had the dance floor packed non-stop. If you're looking for a DJ who's truly talented and super dedicated, go with Ceremony DJs. Benji, thanks for making our weekend epic! -

Jamie absolutely KILLED it at our wedding at The Sea Ranch Lodge. He really took the time to get to know our unique tastes—every part of the event, from welcome party to ceremony to after party, was truly perfect and truly us. Even my family members who like a totally different style of music were dancing all night! Our guests absolutely loved him. 11/10 recommend! -

James and Aaron form Ceremony DJ's really killed it! I cannot express how satisfied I was with their attention to detail and the live DJ'ing and mixing during the event. They really pay attention to your needs and don't throw any curveballs. Easiest and most professional vendor to work with. They have an amazing music taste and managed to mix my alt/goth rock faves with my family's Russian/euro disco favorites ... and it was a complete success! Can't recommend them enough! -

We worked with James and Benji for a wedding in October and they are absolutely amazing. James had a really in depth call with the bride that we were able to sit in on where he went into detail about their curated music style with really interesting questions about all of their tastes and the family. They were able to take songs that might not normally be dance songs, and spin them so they totally got people up on the floor! On the wedding day Benji was a dream, arrived early and had fantastic equipement, we had a disco ball and lighting through them as well. We had really intense weather circumstances with rain but he didn't seem phased by it at all and just kept things going with our team. There were some odd timeline/flow requests as well and could throw off a DJ normally, he just went with the flow with grace and professionalism. He had people DANCING! As a wedding planner we know how key a great DJ is and would absolutely love to work with this team again. On a day that was stressful to plan due to other elements (challenging venue and weather) it was so amazing to work with Ceremony DJ's. We love these guys! -

So many amazing things to say about Ceremony DJs, from the stellar introduction from Jamie to the end result: an unforgettable dance party. When we got started, Jamie took the time to set expectations, share the unique elements that set apart Ceremony DJs (like that they compensate their DJs fairly and competitively), and describe their SUPER impressive list of artists on both digital and vinyl. Then after learning about our musical tastes, he identified a perfect DJ - Benji - to help us out that day. We got so many compliments from our guests about the music and so much of that credit goes to Benji who expertly crafted set lists that drew from our favorite artists. We can’t recommend Ceremony highly enough! Two thumbs up! -

We truly enjoyed working with James. My wife and and I both felt that Benji interpreted our requests and added the perfect amount of his own knowledge to create a dance list that was wonderful. We also enjoyed his energy and looking at the gear. Many of the guests commented how much they enjoyed the music and its presentation. I will say without shame that my husband and I are a little snobby about music. Early in the planning process when we discussed what we wanted to hear at our wedding we agreed that we didn't want a "wedding DJ" at all...we wanted a good DJ who would just happen to be playing at our wedding. (No offense to Earth, Wind, & Fire, but if we never heard "September" ever again, it would suit us just fine.) With this as our North Star, we started looking and were mostly disappointed in the selection, until we found Ceremony DJs.
I admit that I first reached out to Ceremony because I noticed they used a New Order album cover as their cover photo, and I assumed from this that they'd be cool. Well, I was right.
From the moment my husband and I first spoke with Jamie Guzzi, we knew we were being understood and that our music was in good hands. Although his company is based in San Francisco, Jamie has connections in cities all up and down the West Coast and are expanding Eastward. Jamie hooked us up with an LA-local DJ, Aaron Castle, and we had an hours-long conversation about the music that shaped us, the artists we love the most, and what we definitely, not under any circumstances, did not want to hear. It was like having drinks with new friends and by the end, we were convinced we'd made exactly the right choice.
On the day of the event, Aaron ran sound at the ceremony, set the vibe at the cocktail hour, and kept the dance floor packed at the reception. All night people were coming up to my husband and I to rave about the musical selections.
My husband and I could not be happier with this vendor and we would recommend them to anyone. If you care about music, hire Ceremony DJs. -

Not your stereotypical wedding DJ!
We hired Ceremony DJ's for our wedding and they did an excellent job. We had an initial meeting w/ Benji (our DJ) and Jamie (the founder) to discuss what musical vibe we are going for. Their knowledge of music is extensive, these guys know their stuff. You will get something different than the typical "Wedding songs", and they don't just click play on a playlist and walk away - they were actively DJing the whole night. Their catalogue is extensive (90+ page document!). We got a ton of compliments on the music from our guests. We opted for the disco ball upgrade (it is giant!) and the upgraded sound package (definitely worth it). Jamie has done a ton of weddings, so he had good advice regarding the general flow of the day, what key songs to pick, and other useful tips. Music is really important to us, and Ceremony DJ's nailed the vibe of the day.
Our wedding was a ton of fun, and we would hire them again in a heartbeat. -

Benji djed our wedding in September, and it was the dance party of our dreams!
We knew from the start we were in for a party, beginning with my husband having a 2 hour "music nerd" zoom call as we planned our wedding from Philadelphia. My husband having been a dj and in music production, has his own very impressive vinyl collection, so this was important to him.
They met us at the venue a few months ahead of time and figured out sound and lighting for various settings.
Day of was so smooth... one of my favorite moments was how perfectly timed the beat dropped as we recessed from ceremony! Out of movie!
Cocktail hour and dinner was wonderful in the way he created the vibe without overpowering the moment.
The DANCE PARTY was next level! Everyone on the dance floor til 2am!!
Honestly the best, I could not recommend Ceremony Djs more! Hire them, don't think twice! -

Absolute Coolest Wedding Ever.. No, I'm Serious.
After an initial discussion with Ceremony DJs it became clear that their prime mission was to fuel a zine-worthy wedding dance party. Not just any party but one where you're going to have anyone with a good sense of music come tell you that they're experiencing the "coolest wedding ever!!". No joke. If Mick Jagger was hanging around for the vibes I wouldn't have been surprised.
Working with Ceremony DJs is like flipping through your good friend's record collection and saying "Oh yeah!! This has a great track on it..let's play this for sure!". I'm pretty sure the crew at Ceremony DJs could simply write for Rolling Stone or NME and make a fine living off their extensive knowledge of music and it's interplay with culture but no.. us folks planning weddings are blessed with their insight and taste being channeled for the purpose of throwing what you'll know is the coolest wedding you've ever been to. Prepare to have your faces melted :) -

Right from our initial communication, Jamie was great to work with. He took the time to really understand our musical preferences and the vibe we wanted for our wedding. His attention to detail and dedication to creating the perfect playlist was truly commendable. Prior to the wedding, I had compiled a playlist of 400+ songs and was so happy to hear some deep cuts from that list during the wedding.
Jamie’s use of vinyl records added a unique and nostalgic touch to the evening. He also seamlessly incorporated our family's cultural music, showing his flexibility and commitment to making everyone feel included and connected to the celebration.
During the cocktail hour, our guests were already on the dance floor, and that was all thanks to Jamie's incredible energy and music selection. He had a fantastic ability to gauge the crowd's mood and adjust the music accordingly, ensuring that the dance floor was never empty.
In the end, I can confidently say that Jamie was worth every penny. He played a pivotal role in making our wedding a roaring success and the best day ever. His professionalism, talent, and ability to connect with the crowd were second to none. Our wedding wouldn't have been the same without him, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Ceremony DJ'S WERE INSANE!!! From the moment of our first call with Jamie, we knew it was a perfect match. His extensive knowledge of all genres (even afrobeats. My family is African) combined with his chill demeanor and hilarious personality really made the whole planning process so fun! I had a Napa wedding of 182 people that I was mostly planning by myself so you can imagine the stress. And yet any call we had with Jamie, immediately put me at ease. I kid you not he was the ONLY part of the wedding I didn't have to worry about. He also has experience coordinating weddings and it really helped to have someone who could anticipate the other aspects of a ceremony and reception. My whole family and all our friends were WOWED (which is not an easy thing to accomplish considering there were so many types of personalities and backgrounds). Jamie felt the energy of the room and just ran with it from cocktail hour through the reception. And the rate was more than reasonable. He even threw in some equipment no charge!! I'm bummed I'm based in LA because I would hire his company to play any event I have. I HIGHLY recommend anyone searching for a DJ to hire Ceremony DJ's. You will not regret it. Guests are still raving about the music. -

From the start of the wedding planning through the end of the wedding night, our experience with Ceremony DJs was absolutely wonderful. They got to know us and our musical styles and interests. They guided us through song selections and musical cues. They walked the venue with us and helped us figure out the best way to set it up. The reception was wild. We had a great time working with Jamie! The planning process was a breeze thanks to his approachability and enthusiasm. He was super responsive via email and he addressed all our questions and offered advice for our ceremony songs. It was so fun discussing music with him too during the planning meeting—his knowledge of music is vast and from the get-go we knew we were going with a DJ who not only knew his stuff but also totally understood our music taste. He blended indie rock/folk and ’70s rock perfectly for the cocktail hour and dinner, and for dancing he stuck to a fun ’80s / new wave set list. He used vinyl throughout the night and threw in some fun surprises (we loved the Julee Cruise during dinner). He also put his own spin on some guest requests, like playing a double length version of Billy Idol’s “White Wedding” with an extended instrumental breakdown. We also appreciated that even when the dance floor wasn’t bustling, he still kept the energy up. Thank you so much, Jamie! -

From planning to execution, Ceremony DJs did it all. Very easy to work with, always on time, and very communicative. They worked with us to make a custom playlist that paired perfectly with our wedding reception timeline. They mixed between multiple genres of music. We had a great time working with Ceremony DJs. Jamie worked with us during the process to figure out our music interests and identify special songs for the wedding. Communication was quick and easy. DJ Benji DJed the wedding ceremony and reception, and did a fantastic job. The ceremony was flawless, dinner music was wonderful, and he kept people on the dance floor the entire night. We sent over a few playlists and he took inspiration from those, and he was willing to play special requests the night of the reception. The blending/transition from song to song was great, and he played a good mix of different genres. It also looked like he was having a blast for our whole wedding! Everything about our wedding was perfect, but the thing everyone consistently remarked on was how great the music was, and how awesome our DJ Benji was. He not only hit all the major marks of the day flawlessly with great timing and accuracy but he read the room and kept the dance floor full. When we were introduced to James and Benji of Ceremony DJs we knew we were in good hands and had nothing to worry about. They proved us right on our wedding day. Our big day wouldn't be the same without them. A+, 5 stars, 10 out of 10!!!

I couldn't have asked for a better experience working with Jamie from Ceremony DJs! My now-husband and I hired him to DJ our wedding in July 2022. Before we selected him as one of our vendors, we had a two hour long Zoom meeting during which we hung out, drank beers, and chatted about all our musical interests and influences. We clicked with him immediately during this initial meeting and opted not to look at other DJ options even though he was more expensive than we originally budgeted for. That was okay with us though because we wanted to prioritize making our wedding a party and we could envision that happening with Jamie behind the decks.
During the planning process, Jamie asked about everything: each of our musical preferences throughout the years (high school to college to the present day), what our friends listen to, and what our families listen to. Then we made a collaborative Spotify playlist that he used to create his wedding day set, but we also gave him some creative control since he obviously knows what he's doing. He stayed very available throughout the planning process via text and phone call, which made it easy to work with him.
On the actual wedding day, the DJing was absolutely perfect and so much fun. He did a great job controlling the energy of the event, from the guests arriving, to cocktail hour, to the actual reception. Our playlist and preferred music leans towards electronic in terms of genre, particularly house for this event, but he also mixed in tons of fun hip hop and old indie favorites in a way that flowed really nicely.
Since the event, multiple guests have told us that that they had fun specifically because the music and DJing were so good, so thank you Jamie for helping to make our wedding a success! -

We we're looking for someone to create a latin vibe for our wedding and James made it come true! He walked us through the entire day and worked with us to create an amazing set list. He played salsa, merengue, reggaeton, top 40s and house music. My favorite part of the night was hora loca! I highly recommend James, he's a true professional and trustworthy to DJ your big day. Ceremony was exactly what we were looking for. They exceeded our expectations and then some. Jamie was so great to work with in the early stages; his enthusiasm was contagious and it made this part of the wedding planning process by far the best and easiest. Jackie Sugarlumps was our DJ and it was such a relief knowing we were in such good hands with our tunes. We met with her a few times over Zoom before and shared some playlists to give an idea of our taste and she took care of the rest. Ceremony DJs was easy to work with, communicative right from the start. Had intake meeting to understand our hopes and dreams with what music we want played at our wedding. Jackie Spent months researching a seed playlist we created and then expanded that small playlist to create music that lasted all night long perfectly suited to our style and interests.
DJ Jackie was phenomenal! She handled all the microphones for the ceremony, supplying extension cords and speakers to make sure our guests could hear us, our guitar player and our officiant at our outdoor ceremony. The dance floor was never empty and everyone had such an incredible time, even Jackie! She was enjoying our music as much as we were, dancing along while playing records. She was respectful of our do not play list despite multiple pleas from our guests asking for songs (electric slide). We couldn't imagine a better DJ for our magical day! -

James Guzzi was the beating heart of our wedding reception and after party! He played all of our favorite tunes and our wedding guests were astounded at his deep knowledge of the out-of-the-ordinary genres that we love.
James and his wife were also life savers when it came to helping us with some logistical challenges for another element involving sound at our reception. We literally couldn't have done it without them.
I can't speak high enough praise for James! His hard work, DEEP music knowledge, and commitment to an awesome time are all FIVE STARS!!! -

Really loved having James DJ our wedding. He put so much thought into our mix, and worked really hard to include our requests and deep cuts :) He was really helpful and generous with his time and spent a long time on the phone with us prepping us for what was needed. He was the first to arrive and the last to leave our venue. We got tons of good feedback from our guests who loved the music as well. I definitely recommend James to anyone who wants a music mix that goes above the standard lot. -

We were married in Sonoma this year. I consulted with Ceremony DJs, and they took an incredibly thoughtful approach. They took my inspiration, and crafted a vinyl DJ set that completely blew away our expectations. They were very receptive to our requests around announcements or lack thereof. Our tastes and requests were pretty eclectic, ranging from disco to dreampop to Bossa Nova to reggae and beyond, and Benji incorporated it all in an incredibly cohesive set. The entire evening folks from teens to grandparents were tearing it up on the dancefloor, and it stayed popping all night! We've been getting compliments on the music for weeks since the wedding. Seriously, book Ceremony DJs, they are the best in the business. -

James and the Ceremony DJ team were wonderful! Dancing and great music were at the top of my list for things I wanted at my wedding. I provided the dancing, but James' catalog was tremendous, covering every possible genre we could need for the big day. He worked with my wife and I to really get a feel for our style, reinforcing our geeky themes with fun remixes of the "Mad About Me" (the cantina song from Star Wars) and letting us show off with some ballroom dances.
James and the team are professional, courteous, and fun to work with, and it was a pleasure to have them play the first music I've danced to since the pandemic started. -

Groom is a country aficionado, the bride prefers indie and the brides family saved their pennies to visit from Mexico. What to do? what to do? Leave it to Jamie! he figured out how to balance all of our music needs from the uniqueness of our ceremony songs to the out of right field cake cutting song. I told Jamie I didn't want the dancing to stop during the reception so, he kept my family happy with cumbias, norteñas and even some reggaeton mixed in there. A DJ, MC and lighting team that elevated our entire wedding program. From the initial inquiry, Jamie was very thorough to understand our wedding theme and expectations. He also provided past insight during our pre-wedding brainstorm to help us plan out the run of show (welcoming cocktails, grand entry, toasting speeches, first dance and party music).
We were not having a ceremony and wanted the reception to be more than the usual open bar + dance floor program. Jaime and Rocky delivered more than just the usual dance floor/club/top40 music. There was deep consideration for the range of guests (family vs relatives) to really make the music feel like a soundtrack for all on our special night. The equipment was not only high quality in sound and setup in a true audiophile consideration- there was not a table that was overwhelmed by the speakers placement. Last thing to mention, the communication during the whole process went smoothly. They followed up on our curated playlist suggestions, stayed punctual with load in/out and partnered well with our day-of coordinator and venue staff. Thanks again Ceremony DJs for making it a memorable wedding and New Years party for all! -

We used Ceremony DJs for our wedding in June. Jackie Sugarlumps was the DJ and she was great. She and Jamie were both very enthusiastic which was great. As we weren't local when we booked the DJ, she made sure to have multiple video calls with us to understand us as a couple and the type of music we liked. I never felt like she tried to impose the type of music she wanted to play on us, she just really wanted to understand what we liked. I loved the music played at our wedding and I especially love the pictures I have of Jackie rocking out while she was DJing! -

James was amazing! My husband talked to him on the phone when we were on the hunt for a DJ and called me up afterwards to tell me that he didnt want to talk to any other ones, James was the one. He is super outgoing and attentive and really just seems like he loves his job. He played everything we wanted the night of our wedding and at some point during the night a friend said "how do I get this guys playlist?!". Everyone was out on the dance floor and many people gave compliments at the end of the night. I would highly recommend to any friend or family member!
