Heartfelt Ceremony

Sara was the officiant at my husband and I's wedding this past October and I cannot adequately express just how great she was. The Best Officiant Ever!

Sara is the absolute best and sweetest person to work with! From our very first meeting with her she made my husband and I feel so comfortable, relaxed and excited for her to be a big part of our day. She was very thorough and informative when asking us what type of ceremony we wanted, what we wanted included and was very wiling to help us make decisions we were unsure about. She took the time to learn about us as a couple and did a wonderful job incorporating our story into our ceremony. After the ceremony and for days afterwards we had guests compliment us on how beautiful our ceremony was and how there was not one dry eye in the crowd. Even the men who I'd never expect to squeak a tear was brought to tears thanks to Sara. People told us things like, "I've been to many weddings ceremonies and this was by far the best, your officiant was great!" I had family members and friends asking me how and where I found Sara. You can tell she truly cares about what she does and it is as special for her as it is for you. I would recommend her to anyone looking for an officiant for their big day, you wont regret it!

One in a million !

I first met Rev Sara at a wedding we did in early 2007 and recall being struck by her genuine sincerity and being so engaged with the ceremony and the couple. Two years later we crossed paths again and immediately following the ceremony, she asked me how I felt about same sex marriages and I simply said “hey, it’s two people in love”, That kicked off many wonderful ceremonies together with couples from all over the country flocking to Connecticut to get wed. In the following years we have had the honor and privilege to be together for many ceremonies. Many times, her ceremonies include special touches such as unity sand ceremonies and handfasting. Sara is a true partner and a relationship I cherish. There are many fabulous officiants (and photogs too), but, Sara is my all time fav for numerous reasons. Her passion and and true love for what she does for couples each and every time is extraordinary.

Rev. Sara Was the Perfect Fit for Our Wedding - and She Will Be For Yours Too!

When my now-husband and I were left without an officiant less than one month before our wedding due to a family member who was supposed to marry us unable to travel due to COVID restrictions, I went into full panic mode trying to find an officiant. After turning to Google and reaching out to several options in the area, Sara was quick to respond, sent along some information and set up an introductory call with me. She and I had a very brief phone conversation that immediately put me at ease; I knew right off that she was the one. That weekend, we set up a Zoom call so my then fiancé could meet her, and spent nearly an hour chatting about our background, how we met, what we both envisioned the ceremony to look like, and getting to know her a bit. As soon as we ended the call, we both knew she was the perfect fit for us.

Sara worked hard with us to craft the perfect ceremony that we wanted, and it was clear to us that she never uses a standard template to just “get the job done.” I was looking for something meaningful and while on the spiritual side, less religious. My now-husband was looking for something much more religious. Sara pulled a few previous ceremonies that she had performed that she thought could be a fit, as well as some specific reading ideas and access to her full library of readings. Forget spending time looking of passages online - if you work with her - she provides you with EVERYTHING you could ever need! In addition to the readings and more cut and dry aspects of the ceremony (which she helped us balance out beautifully to fit what we were both looking for in terms of religious vs. spiritual), what really struck us about working with Sara was her desire to make it as personal as possible, despite not really knowing us. She gave us the idea to provide her with our “love story” - details of what we love about one another and our relationship - which were kept private until she read them during the ceremony. She also gave us some wonderful ideas to pay tribute to my late father-in-law, as well as our parents, and friend and family that were both present and tuning in via Zoom. She was warm, funny, loving and just perfect, and the hard work that she put into making this piece of our wedding absolutely perfect was clearly so important to her and over-the-moon appreciated by us!

They say everything happens for a reason, and while we were disappointed initially our original plans did not work out for the officiant, it truly was meant to be that Sara was the one with us on our special day.

Perfect Wedding Ceremony!

Sara was absolutely wonderful to work with and helped us create exactly the wedding ceremony we hoped for. My husband I feel so fortunate to have found Sara and that she agreed to be our wedding officiant! Sara guided us with such expertise, kindness, and warmth through the whole process of creating a ceremony that was beautiful, meaningful, and very much "us." Sara is an amazing officiant!

Sara was so great to work with. Leading up to our wedding, we communicated via zoom and email what we envisioned for our ceremony and she also sent us great samples of how the ceremony would go. We agreed on a final draft so we knew what to expect during the ceremony, but Sara added her own amazing touches which were really special to us. We had many wedding guests come up to us after the ceremony saying how much they loved it! I'd highly recommend couples looking for an officiant to hire Sara :)

We Loved Working With Sara!

Sara helped us design a unique and special interfaith wedding ceremony (Christian and Jewish). My husband and I knew we wanted to create our own blended ceremony and write our own vows, and Sara provided ample resources to help us do that. We were drawn to Sara because of her warm and caring demeanor, and she was always so open and non-judgmental throughout the entire process, which is extremely important in an interfaith officiant! Sara is very knowledgeable about wedding customs across a variety of traditions, and she made sure that we were happy every step of the way and that every detail was exactly how we wanted it to be. We received several compliments from our guests about how heartfelt and meaningful our ceremony was, which is a testament to Sara!

Easy, fun, sweet, genuine, satisfied.

Sara Henderson is by far the easiest review to write from all our hires for the wedding. My wife & I needed to marry before our planned wedding day for personal reasons, which Sara happily accommodated. She made time for us and met us at a local town hall & dealt with the flustered town clerks. We were so relieved Sara was able to officiate our marriage beforehand and also perform our wedding ceremony on the planned day because it kept a sense of continuity we were afraid to lose. Come the day of the actual wedding Sara had written a script for us that felt personally tied to our relationship. She delivered her words with love and sincerity. Everyone loved Sara’s ceremony. Our wedding party, our guests, even the workers at the venue came up to us afterward telling us how sweet, fun & genuine it felt. I would choose Sara 1000x over. If you’re lucky enough to book this lovely officiant, don’t forget to tip. I’ll post photos when we get them back from the photographer.

Amazing - Memorable Experience

Intimate wedding, intimate ceremony

We were looking online and found a few potential officiants though Wedding Wire. We decided to go with Sara very quickly, after talking with one other person. While there were a few things we considered, it came down to how much and how clearly she loves what she does. Sara has a wide variety of ceremonies in her quiver and helped us put together one that was perfect for a small, intimate family gathering. It was a day we will remember for the rest of our lives and we were so glad we chose Sara to guide us through it.

Really Supportive

Our experience with Sara was wonderful. She helped us navigate an uncertain time during COVID where difficult decisions had to be made about how to have a ceremony. Reverend Sara is peaceful, creative and flexible

We used Ceremonies from the Heart for our wedding on 08.30.2019 and our ceremony was better than we could have ever dreamed it could be!! She designed a custom ceremony around our preferences, incorporated personalized details about our love story, how we met, as well as how it evolved to where we are today!! An Officiant we instantly connected with

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Rev. Sara.
From our first phone conversation with her we felt just a natural, comfortable connection.
She walked us through the entire process and was always a simple phone call away to help us with any questions we had along the way.
She comforted us through out nervous bouts of being the center of attention and helped us put together an absolutely beautiful ceremony that reflected our love for each other as well as all of our guests sharing the day with us.
She made us feel like it was just the two of us up there with her. She shared the sweetest "love story" of the two of us based on her questions of how we met, what we loved and admired most about each other, etc.

Sara set the tone for our day with love and laughter

Simply the best.

Rev. Sara Henderson was our officiant at our June wedding at Handsome Hollow in the Catskills and we are so glad we chose her! From our first meeting she was so warm, professional and polite. She walked us through the entire process of how to create a beautiful ceremony unique to us. She also took time to get to know my husband and I and asked numerous questions about our relationship, beliefs and our overall vision. Leading up the wedding Sara was extremely helpful in providing samples of ceremonies that fit our "style" (non religious, focused on love and the couple) and we were able to create something truly magical. I also appreciate how she reviewed our vows to make sure my husband and I were aligned in the length and overall "theme" of our personal vows that we wrote. On the day of the wedding she was everything we expected and more. She looked lovely, arrived early and came prepared to make sure we signed all necessary documents. Two weeks later we promptly received our marriage license in the mail :) Overall, I would highly recommend Sara to any couple!

Our Wedding Day

My husband and I were absolutely delighted by our experience with Rev. Sara. We wanted a small ceremony in our home with immediate family only. It was really important to us that the ceremony be personal, meaningful to us, reflective of our beliefs and include family members. Sara worked with us to get the wording just right. Sara very extremely professional and everything went very smoothly for being book on short notice.my wife and I kept the ceremony small being it was our second marriage. Sara walked us through the types of ceremonies and options we had available. She was very accommodating and had a vast array of options for the ceremony. She arrived early and was very personable interacting with family before and after the ceremony. It felt like we knew her for a long time. When can we do it again?

Sara was extremely helpful, professional and efficient. We were a bit apprehensive about not ever having physically met her, but we immediately felt drawn to her and were totally at ease. It was nerve-wracking to arrive at the venue, half-expecting no one to be there, but Sara was there, on time as arranged, despite the fact that we had made arrangements months in advance from the other side of the world.

Sara Henderson of Ceremonies from the Heart made our wedding ceremony! She was so sweet and easy to work with. The first time we met her she gave us a feeling of "warmth" and we knew that's what we wanted our ceremony to feel like. She offered us tons of examples from previous ceremonies and personalized vows to read from to sculpt our ceremony perfectly, as well as poems, readings, and traditions to choose from. Then, day of, Sara officiated beautifully. All the guests said it was one the best ceremonies they've attended and that she made it feel so personal! My husband and myself were very happy to meet and have Sara preform our renewal of our vows. She was and is a very passionate person. I felt as if we already knew her on a personal level. It was just my husband and myself celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in NYC. This was something Sara and my husband planned to surprise me and boy was I very surprised.

I worked with Sara for about a year to Surprise my wife with a renewal of our vows in Central Park. Sara is a great person to work with, she will listen to what you want and if you are not sure she has lots of great Ideas. I cant thank you enough for your help in planning what was a very memorable and special day for Karen and myself. She had absolutely no idea about anything which i think you might have noticed on the day when you introduced yourself at Wagners Cove. The ceremony was absolutely perfect, Karen hasnt stopped telling everyone about it in great detail. She still cant believe that I kept it a secret for as long and that we had been communicating all through the year. Ive let her read all the emails between us and she is amazed at the detail we went into when preparing everything.

I truly couldnt have made that day so special for her without your help and for that i will be eternally grateful. You were exactly what i had imagined on the day a professional and a warm caring person who made everything special.

I would have absolutely no hesitation in reccomending you to anyone who would like to plan such a special occasion like I wanted. From our first email to the last time we spoke at Wagners Cove I felt the warmth and love in everything you did and without that our day would not have been so special.

Reverend Sara Henderson from ceremonies from the heart was incredible, we renewed our wedding vows in Central Park recently, Sara made the whole event magical and unforgettable. The whole thing was a surprise for my wife of 15 years, I had communicated with Sara through email for 5 months to set up the day, to a great success. Sara organised everything, including flowers, the venue within Central Park, photographer and the horse and carriage. This was carried our with very little fuss and very professionally. Reverend Sara read our vows for the ceremony perfectly, and in a calm and loving manor.

What can I say about Reverend Sara?? She was absolutely, positively fabulous, she has such a warm soul and it shines through her beautiful personality. From the first phone conversation to the day of our beautiful wedding, she made us feel so comfortable and cared for. I knew we were in good hands, and didn't doubt it for a moment. Because my husband and I weren't really sure how to go about planning a ceremony she jumped right in and gave us ideas. She explained that after telling her some details on our personal style and how we wanted to feel that day she would take care of the rest. We wanted an intimate ceremony with some religious touches given that we are both Catholic. Sara listened to all of our ideas and created a ceremony that was tailored to everything we imagined, it was just so BEAUTIFUL! Because I was about to become a step-mother to three beautiful children, I wanted to include them in our ceremony in a special way. Sara had experience with this situation with another couple and made me feel so much better about how to make it happen. She was available to talk anytime and promptly responded to emails. I cant say enough how special she made our day, I would not have changed a thing. I HIGHLY recommend Reverend Sara. We are forever grateful.

Sara was so helpful and friendly when I contacted her about arranging a surprise renewal for my husband. She put me instantly at ease and came up with some lovely ideas for the service. We cannot ask for a better officiant. She gave us so much reading material and real sample ceremonies based on the type of ceremony we requested. It was so helpful since we had no idea where to start. We also had technical issues with the violinist not having amplification and Sara solved it for us although it's not her scope, we're very thankful for that. We went back and forth through email perfecting our ceremony and the day of it went perfectly. Apparently some guests were crying during, so it was obviously done pretty well haha. We're just so happy to be married and we're glad it started off with such an awesome ceremony.

Rev Sara was fantastic, and very helpful planning our ceremony. We were ~ 2000mi away during all of the planning, but she made it easy. When our original officiant had to unfortunately back out of our wedding 2 months before the wedding, she had given us Rev. Sara's name and contact information. We contacted Rev. Sara immediately and to our good fortune she was available to officiate our wedding. From the very beginning Rev. Though I wish the reverend could have been there for rehearsal, she is the sweetest, good hearted person who gave us complete customization to make our own unique ceremony. She learned about us, gave us samples of prior weddings and we chose exactly what bits and pieces we liked plus details of our own. We made it special honoring parents and had so many members present in tears. She did a tremendous job for us. Every photo she has a genuine smile on her face.

Rev. Sara was wonderful! She made a point of getting to know us before the wedding so she could create a ceremony that was uniquely ours. Everyone at the wedding was moved by the ceremony and said that it was beautiful.

After visiting New York once before and falling in love with this wonderful, vibrant city we decided it would be a perfect place to start our adventure as a married couple. We contacted Reverend Sara and in her response we immediately felt her warmth. Communicating with Sara was a joy – she patiently answered all our queries and gave us endless suggestions and support to ensure our day was just perfect for us.
It was a delight to meet Reverend Sara and her wonderful husband Arnie on the day of our wedding. We married at the Ladies Pavilion and the ceremony was beautiful, emotional and just perfect ! Sara radiated such joy during our ceremony – she truly made us feel like the most special couple in the world !
Sara is efficient and knowledgeable in her profession but her warmth, kindness and obvious pleasure she displays in her work just shines through and that is just wonderful !

Rev. Sara Henderson comes highly recommended! From our initial meeting with her, until the day of our wedding, she was so kind and warm to us that we just knew she was such a perfect fit! We had our ceremony and reception at one venue, so we wanted our ceremony to incorporate a little bit of everything, but not too much of one thing. Sara took the time to go over everything with us, offered helpful ideas and ultimately constructed the perfect ceremony that fit us. The result was a beautifully written ceremony that was unique to just us! It was perfect, she was perfect and our day was one we will never forget!

Reverand Henderson was wonderful from the beginning! We were looking for a unique ceremony that reflected our relationship- not religious, not entirely formal- and she was at ease with helping us construct the perfect ceremony. It was short, sweet, and everyone felt like they were a part of it. She was very easy to communicate with back and forth to get all the details worked out. We have a wonderful memory in our ceremony for the rest of our lives thanks to her!

I cannot say enough good things about Rev Henderson. Not only is she amazing and warm, but she is with you every step of the way as you plan your ceremony. My date was very special to me, as it was my grandparents' anniversary, and she assured me that even if it snowed she'd be there. True to her word, she made it even through the heavy snow that day, and it was a heartfelt, beautiful ceremony that I'll remember for the rest of my life. I highly recommend her; she will make your special day even more special.

Reverend Sara was absolutely wonderful and I am so glad that we chose her to officiate our wedding. She tailored our ceremony to what we wanted included and she walked us through the entire process from beginning to end. Sara Henderson made our wedding meaningful because she appreciates all the symbolism, emotion and ceremony that applies to each individual. She was just as happy to be there as we were. Sara officiated at our daughter/stepdaughter's wedding and brought the same excitement and enthusiasm to that event.

Sara was wonderful from the beginning. She sent us all the information we could possibly need and was always available if we had any questions. The day of our ceremony she helped our nerves and went through the ceremony just as we planned. I would suggest her to a friend any day and if we had to do it again, I wouldn't of done it any other way!

Upon meeting her, we knew Reverend Sara was the one we wanted to marry us. Her gentle demeanor drew us to her immediately. Since it was "the second time around" for both my husband and I, and because of religious rules and regulations, we were unsure of exactly where we could/should exchange our vows. She actually came up with an outdoor venue right in the town we live in that we weren't aware of. With her encouragement and support, our ceremony was everything we hoped it would be. We felt like a young couple getting married for the first time. I would highly recommend Reverend Sara to anyone, but especially to couples unsure of where to begin their new life journeys together. Thank you Reverend Sara for being a part of our "happily ever after!"

Rev Sara was the perfect choice to marry Gilberto and I. She tailored the entire ceremony to resonate with who we are and our beliefs. She has a gentle, yet inviting voice. Very personable, warm, and flexible. She was able to accommodate our last minute requests and never skipped a beat. Reverend Sara Henderson is simply the best! Sara performs all different types of wedding ceremonies and I guarantee you she can create one to fit yours and your partner's taste, values and beliefs. Sarah was approachable and really helped to guide my husband and I through the creation of the ceremony. We wanted a non-religious ceremony that would simply be about our love for one another and our relationship. Sara provided us with sample ceremonies, ideas, and readings that she thought might inspire us or that we might want as a part of our own unique wedding ceremony. She even reached out to my "other half" to help when he was struggling with his own vows. And what a BEAUTIFUL writer she is! Sara wrote our ceremony and shared it with us a few weeks before the wedding....we both cried when we read it and knew we had chosen the perfect person to marry us! We got so many compliments on our ceremony and how beautiful, short and sweet it was! She even captured our humor a it! Just what we wanted!!! Our guests found the ceremony intimate, engaging and beautiful and loved that Sara captured us and our love in our 25 minute ceremony. As a person, Sara is sweet, genuine and approachable and truly LOVES what she does. When someone loves what they do, it always shines through! We were so proud of our beautiful ceremony and Sara made that possible!

Upon our first meeting, I knew almost instantly that Reverend Sara was the right person to wed my husband and I. She has a warm, friendly, maternal nature that is comforting to a stressed out bride and groom. We did not know exactly what we wanted for our ceremony, although we knew the vibe we wanted to elicit. She understood us right away and helped tailor our ceremony to reflect exactly the people that we are, the vibe we wanted, and our desire to be both spiritual, yet non-religious.

Reverend Sara is a wonderful person and has a super warm personality and I would highly recommend her to any bride or groom looking for a personal and classy ceremony. I've heard from numerous guests that they thought my ceremony was the best they've ever been to! She's truly a great human being and I am so happy we chose her to be our officiant. Thank you Rev. Reverend Sara was the perfect fit for Mike & I. From our first meeting, we knew she would make our wedding ceremony special, and that is what she did! Our ceremony was beautiful, she recommended a special rose ceremony for our mothers which went over great! Everyone says our ceremony was beautiful and that we could not have picked a better officiant and we agree! Wish she could have came to our rehearsal, but that is my fault for not making sure of this in advance! Would highly recommend!

When my husband and I got engaged, we knew that we did not want a traditional church wedding, but we had no idea who would officiate our wedding or how to find someone to do it. We toyed with the idea of having a friend officiate, but that seemed like it could end up being stressful. We got some recommendations from our venue and also looked at weddingwire, and were so glad to find Rev. Sara Henderson!

We interviewed a few potential officiants and each of them had many strengths. We decided to go with Rev. Sara because she possessed qualities that were very important to us – sincerity, warmth, and enthusiasm. We felt an instant connection with her and knew right away that we wanted her to officiate our wedding.

In planning our ceremony, Rev. Sara sent us a zipped file of resources – potential readings, rituals, and vows, and sample ceremonies to use as a template. She was open to our ideas and edits. She also created a “Love Story” that really captured our relationship.

Rev. Sara did an excellent job at our wedding! We were supposed to have an indoor ceremony, but it moved it outdoors at the last minute, and she totally rolled with the location change. Her sincerity, warmth and enthusiasm certainly came across to our guests. Several of them have commented that it was the most personal ceremony they have ever seen, and that they were moved to laughter and tears at different points throughout. We also appreciated Rev. Sara’s willingness to attend our rehearsal (other potential officiants gave us a flat out “No” when we asked about this, or charged an exorbitant fee) and take care of all of our paperwork.

Overall, we are so glad that Rev. Sara officiated our wedding! Highly recommended!

Reverend Sara Henderson is truly more like family to us at this point. She married us almost 10 years ago! She has baptized and blessed all 4 of our children (and our 2 dogs)! She has advised us on personal matters, and offered comfort during difficult times. Her smile, infectious; her kindness, contagious. She is a genuine, gentle, kindhearted soul. A random Internet search led us to her in 2004, and we are confident our bond with her will only grow from here. If you're looking for an officiant for ANY occasion, look no further. In Reverend Sara, you will most certainly find everything you need, and so much more!

Reverend Sara not only did a beautiful job of officiating at our ceremony, we would not have been able to have a ceremony at all without her help. Everything was done long distance so she facilitated our getting a marriage license without having to wait. She also sent us a huge amount of information on rituals, poetry and because we were writing our own vows, she sent us wonderful suggestions for doing so. She made recommendations for other services that we needed such as a wonderful photographer, etc. and she did all of this with one or two phone calls and mostly emails. We would recommend Reverend Sara to our family and friends without hesitation. Also, the city of Kent, Connecticut was a quaint wonderful place to hold our ceremony with people who were very helpful.
