We did a phone consultation and we knew right away we wanted to work with Karen! You can tell right away that she absolutely loves what she does. The ceremony was perfect. Karen is the best!
I had met Karen previously and knew of her passion for weddings, so she was the first person we called to officiate our ceremony. My husband and I knew we wanted to have a nondenominational ceremony that was more on the spiritual side. She met with us and got to know us as a couple before writing our ceremony. She completely customized the ceremony for us and her words were absolutely beautiful! She also does a great job at keeping things relaxed and light, which really helped to calm our nerves in front of everyone. We loved working with her and had the best experience. Amazing personalized ceremony
We absolutely loved Karen as our officiant! She personalized the ceremony so that it fit our beliefs and personalities perfectly. We were especially comfortable with her being that it was a same sex wedding and it was important for us to find someone we could be ourselves with. All the way from the start even until after our wedding helping us get our license and going the extra mile of helping us get our certified copies quickly - Karen was amazing though and through. Ceremony Filled with Love and Personality!
Karen was a pleasure to work with. She was super flexible with helping us plan a wedding ceremony during COVID. She crafted a ceremony that was heartfelt and filled with tons of personality; everyone could feel the love between us which was great because not all of our guests knew us as a couple. Her questionnaire is thorough and also allows for a fun exercise between you and your partner! She is filled with so much joy and genuinely loves her job. Upon meeting with her before the wedding, we also loved hearing about all of her life stories (including staying up 2-3 nights in a row in San Francisco to marry same-sex couples) that made her that much more of a good fit. Wonderful, flexible, accepting officiant
My wife and I have zero regrets about hiring Karen to be the officiant at our wedding. She is very easy to communicate with and made both of us feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. Just like many other weddings that were affected by COVID-19, we really wanted to be married prior to our son being born. The wedding that Karen officiated was try number three! Karen was incredibly responsive, made the process so easy and made the quick wedding so personable. The whole day flew by and Karen's keepsake that she gives allows you to stop after the craziness and truly embrace your own words and her own added touch to the vows that truly touch you after the fact. She also worked with my best friend (without me knowing) and provided a photographer that brought even more of a added touch of memory to the wedding. I highly recommend Karen to officiate your wedding, you will not be let down!

Karen provided us with the most beautiful and personal ceremony we could have asked for. We got to know Karen over the phone leading up to our wedding, as we were not able to meet in advance due to COVID, but we connected so well and she guided us through the process of planning our ceremony.
We changed our plans from a large wedding celebration to a private elopement. We even had to change the location of our elopement ceremony on the day of the wedding due to weather, and through every change in plan, Karen was so flexible and her calm energy made us feel like all was in control. Her ceremony message was beautiful and everything we hoped it would be. Thank you Karen!!

Rev. Osborne is worth her weight in gold. I loved that she took into account what we wanted our ceremony to be and put her touch to make it perfect. She called me almost immediately after I requested information and met in a location convenient for us. Her survey really made us answer questions we had never thought about and helped structure the perfect ceremony. We laughed, cried, and laughed again. Rev. Osborne did a fantastic job putting together a beautiful ceremony for us. It was exactly what we asked for: brief, personal, and emotional. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the small group of family we had hoped could join us were not able to travel, but Rev. Must Have Officiant/Worth Every Penny
Karen was fantastic to work with. My husband and I wanted a ceremony that was original, funny, not super religious and that fit our personality. She exceeded our expectations. She was so creative and incorporated things from our favorite movie Princess Bride and also some readings from Disney movies. Yes, we are big nerds. Karen sent us a copy of her speech/ceremony for me to review and was quick to make any changes that we suggested. The day of our wedding she was just on point and so funny, she ad-libbed things and when we made mistakes, she just went with it. She also just got us. She knew who we were as a couple and seemed to have a great time marrying us despite the cold weather. She really was the icing on top of our amazing wedding day/ceremony. Thank you Karen for making our day so special. We got so many compliments on our ceremony and how original it was and it just captured our personalities and relationship perfectly.

Karen Osborne is a Great choice for a wedding officiant. She was very responsive, professional, and helped us with our ceremony and vows! We got married on the hottest day of the year, and had an outside ceremony. She made sure to keep the readings short so we didn't pass out and the ceremony itself was beautiful. We chose her because she offers a variety of ceremony types, from non-religious to spiritual to LGBT friendly. It was such a pleasure working with Karen! We planned a wedding in just six weeks, and Karen worked with us in our short time line. But that doesn't mean she skimped on getting to know us. She gave us questionnaires to fill out so she could get to know us, and then she discussed with us by phone our answers and what was important to us in the ceremony. She included everything we wanted (and more!) during the ceremony. We wanted my daughter included and made to feel to be part of the the ceremony and hence part of the family we were forging together, and she did a wonderful job of including her as well.
And at the end, Karen gave us our ceremony in a binder, which I love so much, and will be able to go back and read :)

Karen took the time to create the most personalized and thoughtful Ceremony we could have ever dreamed of. Every person in the room thought we had known Karen all of our lives and we heard countless times throughout the night how special the ceremony was.

Karen was AMAZING! She met with us a while before our wedding and got to know a little about us. She sent us a questionnaire a little while before the wedding and asked a lot of really good in depth questions and wrote the most beautiful ceremony, it had me happy crying as it did our guests on our day. Our guests kept telling us how awesome she was and they wanted to get married again so she could be their officiant. She also gave us a copy in a nice album of the ceremony so we have a wonderful keepsake. I highly recommend Karen

Karen married my brother two years ago and married me this October. My brother and I have very different values and envisioned very different weddings. Karen did a fantastic job tailoring each one to the requests of the bride and groom. She gave helpful advice and suggestions but also incorporated things that I wanted into the service. Wonderful officiant
We were originally going to have my aunt officiate the ceremony, but given she was out of state we decided to go with someone local. We are so glad we did. Karen gave a wonderful personalized ceremony and took the stress out of this portion of the wedding. She was funny, endearing and gave a beautiful ceremony not to mention got along great with our families. She was flexible when we were in town to meet and made planning the ceremony from afar a breeze.

Simply amazing.
Karen is such an amazing officiant. My husband and I were planning our wedding from Portland, OR, and Karen was so flexible with our schedule and our needs. We had many phone conversations with her, as well as an in-person meeting, where we all really got to know each other. My husband and I felt that Karen really understood us as a couple, and all of our conversations were jovial and fun- we shared so many adventure stories together!
Karen compiled a beautiful, personal, and fun ceremony for our wedding. She was so attentive to what our priorities were and delivered an amazing ceremony. Guests commented on how personalized and true our ceremony was, saying that it fit us and our personalities perfectly.

Karen was an amazing officiant! Neither my husband or I are religious, so finding someone who could officiate our wedding and keep a non-religious tone was difficult. Karen is very open-minded and willing to work with any couple, without judgement. Karen was so friendly and helpful from the very beginning. She was responsive to emails and gladly answered any questions that we had. We had an out of state wedding, so we booked Karen without having a chance to meet her in person. Her questionnaire was very detailed and thorough which was a perfect way for her to get to know us, our background, our personalities, and our story as a couple. She used that questionnaire to weave our own words into a perfect ceremony. We finally got the chance to meet her about a month before our wedding, and she was so friendly and easy to talk to. Since we were traveling, we had our pups with us, and she was friendly with them and could tell how much they mean to us. We were disappointed that we couldn't have them in our wedding, but she found a way to include them with a very sweet poem, "What I Learned About Love, I Learned From My Dog," which completely took me by surprise when she sent us the ceremony, but filled my heart with joy. I was so glad that there was a way to honor our fur babies, despite their absence. Karen did an outstanding job creating such a meaningful, personal, and fun ceremony!

The questionnaire she had us complete digs pretty deep and I felt that she knew us by the time the ceremony rolled around. I can't say enough about what a phenomenal job Karen did at our wedding earlier this month. She made our wedding feel incredibly personalized and sent us a detailed questionnaire to make sure her words during our ceremony captured our specific relationship. She was able to take our notes and completely offer a flawless depiction of how my husband and I feel about one another. From our very first conversation, my fiancé and I were completely at ease and excited to work with her. When we met her for coffee we talked as if we had known her for years. After having some negative encounters with several pastors for marrying my wife and , we were discouraged on meeting others for the fear of the same judgment. I wish there were some option to rate Karen higher than a 5 for Quality, Value, and most of all, Flexibility! We found Karen less than 2 weeks before our wedding date, she was quick to respond and put us completely at ease. After sending us a brief survey to get to know us, she was somehow divinely able to mold what we told her about ourselves into the most beautiful ceremony. Karen arrived well beforehand to go over details with us, and exuded such grace and flexibility when our 1pm ceremony start time hung in limbo as we waited for our photographer to arrive (who ended up being a no-show!!). She was so patient with us as we scrambled to put together a plan b, and her ease was much appreciated!
Karen made our ceremony fun and meaningful. We all laughed, and cried, and were touched very deeply. She put together a keepsake copy of the entire ceremony for us, which we have already re-read multiple times. What a neat memento to have forever!
I cannot thank her enough for helping to create such a special day for us. At some point after the ceremony, each of our family members came up to us individually and remarked on how perfect Karen had been for us.

Karen made our ceremony all the things we wanted. Fun, intimate, and personal. She did all these and made our guests feel like she had known us a lifetime. I loved that she did a special honor for our mothers as they are so important to us. My husband and I planned our wedding from afar as the events were held 4 hours away at our beloved Alma Mater, Virginia Tech. Recently married friends in our situation told us about their awful experiences interviewing countless officiants before settling on one. Determined to not waste a day interviewing, I did research (God bless Wedding Wire!) and was lucky enough to come across Karen’s website and glowing reviews.
We set up a meet and greet at Panera in Blacksburg and got great vibes. We felt we had a unique situation and Karen was kind and caring while hearing our story. We had been together almost 9 years prior to our big day when his Dad, whom we were very close with, suddenly passed away not even a year before our wedding. This was an extremely delicate situation to be in as emotions were raw and we wanted to honor his influence on our relationship while balancing our emotions and those of family and friends in attendance. Karen guided us through this process and created a custom service which fit us perfectly.
Although we only met once prior to the wedding, I was truly impressed how Karen captured the essence of our relationship. We received a planning questionnaire that she used to create our ceremony script, which we received a copy of and made edits to a few weeks prior to the wedding. Knowing everything that was going to be said helped ease my nerves and it was just as special hearing it on the big day. I know I am biased but the wedding was a blast. Karen captivated the audience (she didn’t even use a mic!) and had everyone laughing throughout. We received amazing feedback from friends and family who said it was the most beautiful ceremony they had been to. One of our attendees is even using Karen for her upcoming nuptials in September.

Karen is a wonderful officiant! She worked very hard to personalize our ceremony and I received so many compliments about how intimate and personal my marriage ceremony was. Karen was absolutely wonderful. Through our answers to an incredibly detailed survey she gave us, she crafted a ceremony just for us. It was thoughtful, personal, and beautiful. Karen is a great speaker, and many in our crowd gave us compliments on the ceremony. She answers promptly to emails, which is great for an out-of-town bride, and was flexible with meeting us in person. She was also very open to the few changes we had to the ceremony she crafted, and was very easy to work with. I couldn't recommend her highly enough.
For LGBT couples, Rev Osborne is THE officiant for you! She was keenly aware of the challenges in a same-sex ceremony and was very supportive.

Working with Karen was one of the best parts of our wedding. We spent such a long time trying to decide who would marry us as we wanted an interfaith, but very personal, ceremony. As I scrolled through great reviews of Karen online, I decided to give her a call. From the moment we spoke, I knew she was it. She was so warm, open, and interested in not just getting to know Andrew and I, but sharing her own story as well in order to build a relationship. She asked so many questions that really made us stop and think, but it was these questions that allowed her to write the most beautiful and meaningful ceremony we could have ever imagined. When planning, she told us that the audience would think that she had known us for years, and boy was it true! Our guests were crying, and laughing, and cheering! It was the most memorable moment of our lives and it is even that much more special when we look back and know that it was Karen who married us.

Karen is amazing. If you are looking for a personalized wedding ceremony that will make your guests smile, laugh, and cry, Karen is the one for you. From the first time we met Karen, we just clicked with her. It is rare that you meet someone who so obviously loves their job, and Karen definitely does. She took the time to get to know us, and the questionnaire she gives you is fantastic and really lets her get a sense of who you are as a couple, and she uses that to build a ceremony that is as unique as your love. Karen is always available through email, and answers quickly. My family all loved Karen too, she is just so easy to talk with. I really cannot say enough nice things about her.

We couldn’t have been more pleased with how wonderfully our ceremony turned out! At our reception we had so many people coming up to us and saying that it was the most beautiful ceremony they had ever heard, and seemed so personal! Karen was so easy to work with, enthusiastic, and quick to respond to emails and questions. She wrote the entire ceremony based on what we told her about ourselves and tailored it to us as a couple. She was open to any changes or tweaks that we wanted to the ceremony and really made it in to exactly what we wanted. Our ceremony wouldn’t have been the same without Karen and we can’t thank her enough for how much work she put in to making our ceremony special. Karen helped us create a ceremony that was personal and crafted to suit us as a couple. Karen went out of her way to incorporate our wishes for the ceremony we desired. She was particulary sensitive to the nature of our family dynamics. Her ability to custom tailor our service was unforgettable. Probably the most memorable part of the ceremony was her inclusion of our son. Her laid-back nature was incredibly disarming, and put everyone at ease, from the outset, including the majority of our family members who had not met prior to the ceremony beginning. We were very glad to receive a copy of the beautiful ceremony that she had prepared for us. We didn't realize until after the ceremony was over that it was actually her birthday; her selflessness in this regard was very impressive.

I honestly don't even know where to begin on how great Karen is.
Right from the beginning, she was just so accommodating and helpful to our every need, putting her experience to use answering all our questions and offering suggestions to make our wedding truly a celebration of our commitment. She was always quick to return a call or email and dedicated to making her part in our ceremony completely tailored to our unique relationship. Her ceremony was perfectly written and she continually kept us updated on her progress while she was writing it with us. All of our guests loved her as our officiant.
If we ever choose to renew our vows, Karen is our top choice!

Karen did an absolutely amazing job as our officiant! We did not give many "musts" and just wanted a simple ceremony that reflected us as a couple. Without much direction, Karen did a great job turning our correspondence and questionnaire into a very personable, romantic ceremony. From the first time we met her, we knew that Karen was the perfect person to marry us. She was warm and friendly, positive and accomodating. She went the extra mile (literally) by driving to our wedding location which was off the beaten path. Karen customized a ceremony that included all of our requests and delivered it beautifully. Karen was the officiant for our wedding on June 30, 2012. We originally met her at another wedding in 2010, and we were so impressed with her ceremony. When we became engaged, we knew we would have her as our officiant. My husband and I are from two different cultures and religions, so it was important for us to capture traditions from both sides and find someone who was willing to work with us. Karen did an exceptional job on writing our ceremony based on our values, beliefs, and histories. She met with us numerous times prior to the wedding to ensure that everything was according to our expectations. I would highly recommend Karen as your officiant. Karen is great! She is personable, compassionate and understanding - she takes the time to get to know you and your mate before you get married so that she can add that special touch to your day.
Karen is also extremely committed - when the "durecho" blew down a tree trapping her car in the driveway the night before our wedding, she made it her business to find a way to make it to our wedding and marry us. She will not let you down!
The same storm left us without power for the microphones and speakers that we were supposed to have ready for her on our wedding day as well. But, Karen gracefully, "rolled with the punches," so to speak - she was able to speak loud enough and clearly enough that everyone in attendance was able to hear her.
Our wedding was so personal and so unique that people *actually* remember it - almost a year later, they still talk about how awesome Karen was and always want to know "where we found her." Most of all, they remember the levity (which was important to us) that Karen bestowed on our wedding.

Why I almost wasn’t married
It’s long but please read to the end …
I hate to complain but somethings are worth saying if it will save the stress and tears before your wedding. Communication with Karen was great. I felt really good about choosing her to marry us…THEN…3 days before the wedding she emails me and says “My concern now is the forecast is thunderstorms at that time and I was wondering if you can think of a backup plan inside somewhere. I have to be dressed up and looking good for a really fancy wedding afterwards and concerned about getting soaked.”
Ok so my wedding isn’t fancy enough for you?
I email her back because I have at this point been watching the forecast every hour! It’s a 30 percent chance of scattered storms. After a few emails we called her and asked point blank if she didn’t want to do our wedding tell us now and we’ll find someone else. She then calms down and said well “I’ll just take my suit and change at the church for my fancy wedding.” She was wearing a robe to our wedding.
Then the morning before my wedding I get this “The forecast looks as of now that thunderstorms will be happening at that time.
Please be open to possibly rescheduling or having an indoor space.”
AGAIN 30 percent chance and the future radars show a possibility at 4 pm. My wedding was at 2:30. I’m not trying to get struck by lightning either! But she also double booked and if god forbid it had rained she couldn’t wait 15 minutes because she had to be at her next venue out of town by 4 pm.
We call her and she is so worried because she is “getting her hair done for this fancy wedding of 180 people and worried about her hair frizzing”. She also said “isn’t your wedding just y’all, your dad, and a few friends?” It didn’t matter if it was just 2 people it’s our wedding and we pick a day and place for a reason ! I expected the same professionalism whether it’s 2, 25, or 180 people.
So at this point we told her not to bother because she had already caused enough stress and we found someone else to marry us. I don’t think anyone could have done a better job than the sweet soul who ended up marrying us. Who, by the way, dropped all her plans to make it happen. Things happen for a reason. Our day was perfect and guess what?! Not a drop of rain!!!
Karen did send us $100 back of the $175 deposit we had sent her with a note trying to apologize. She had also mentioned in her last phone call she didn’t want a bad Google review. With the times we are in I hate to complain but she almost ruined the best day of my life.
