Alex was wonderful to work with. We went over what we were looking for, as I wanted a more traditional ceremony with prayers etc. and my husband wanted a more modern and less traditional ceremony. In addition, we both decided we didn't want to write our own vows (adding more stress to us). We wanted to go with something that was already scripted. Alex provided the perfect balance. He sent us several options to review and were able to edit to fit us. His delivery was excellent on the day of our wedding. He provided humor, sincerity and a very touching speech. Saved our wedding!
3 weeks before our wedding, our initial officiant had a very unexpected death in his family and was unable to officiate for us. We reached out to so many officiants for help and were met with many no’s, until alex who answered us very quickly with multiple options to solve our problem and get us married. He was very encouraging and helpful from the beginning, and brought an immense knowledge of the wedding process to the table. He helped us make a beautiful ceremony, and even brought everything to the deeds office for us while we were on our honeymoon. His kindness was something i will remember forever and I will be forever grateful for his professionalism and ability to help! I would recommend him a million times over!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Alex as our wedding officiant. He was incredibly punctual and responsible, always making sure everything ran smoothly. He even conducted our ceremony in Spanish just as we wanted, and he was super flexible when we had to change the timing at the last minute. The ceremony felt so personalized and special.
Even though the weather was freezing, he handled it with such grace and was always kind and attentive until the very last moment. We truly appreciated his warmth and how he went the extra mile. Highly recommend him to anyone!

My husband and I were a little nervous hiring someone to officiate our wedding that didn’t know us personally and we hadn’t met before. Alex took the time to ask questions and get to know us beforehand so it felt more personal and made sure our ceremony was tailored to us and was exactly how we wanted it. He made us feel reassured every step of the way that it was our day and all that mattered was that it was perfect for my husband and I. I was so impressed with his ability to publicly speak and deliver the script we curated together in a way that was sentimental and also entertaining. It was by request from both of us to be announced at 11:11. Alex made sure by all means that took place. Both of us kept seeing a repeat of this time throughout the years prior to marriage. Little did we know that two months later the loss of a child, that was not in attendance at the wedding, would also connect a series of 11:11's. Alex was amazing and I would highly recommend him for your wedding ceremony! I reached out a year before our wedding and throughout the year he'd occasionally check in to see how things were going. As we got closer he worked with us to create our ceremony and even gave some fun suggestions for different things we could do during the ceremony. The Best Wedding Officiant one could ever hope for!
Alex is a treasure! We interviewed multiple officiants in search of someone who we felt could best blend two different cultures and people from all over the world together. Alex was amazing and exceeded what we could have hoped for! He is timely, professional and relaxed especially when our ceremony became delayed. He was funny and could speak easily to both sides of our Nigerian-American wedding with appropriate and well-developed jokes. He also offers pre and post-marital counseling. Alex was such a wonderful person to work with. From our initial call, where he showed us a bit of his personality and humor, to the ceremony where he waited patiently for us to find our marriage license to get signatures. Unfortunately we had so many things going on up until the day of, we were unable to make much time to provide Alex with our questionnaire for him to write his speech for our ceremony, until a couple of days before the wedding. Alex was a true professional! He provided many different vows for my daughter and husband to choose from and then allowed them to customize them. They both enjoyed working with him via phone/email and found the process to be thorough and painless. Alex conducted the ceremony beautifully. He spoke clearly and loud enough for all to hear (which was impressive as it was an outside wedding with cars and leaf blowers going about). During parts of the ceremony, such as the exchange of the rings and prior to the couple kissing after announcing them husband and wife, he would dart behind one of the pillars so that the photographers and videographers could get a shot of just the couple, without him in the frames. Alex Cheek is a true gentleman and perfectly executed the officiating for our wedding. He is a legitimate legal officiant (as per the state of North Carolina as we were thinking of having a friend with an officiating license and found out it doesn't count), Alex is the real deal. We got married in Charlotte, NC but he covers a vast area and is willing to drive multiple hours to be there for your special day, at a more affordable rate than most others we researched. He is super punctual via wedding wire website (messages) and doesn't hide anything. You will know everything he will say because he sends full drafts of the ceremony and speaking parts, and will also tailor it to how you want it. If you want to leave things out or add separate things, he'll do it! He emphasizes that it's YOUR day and he's just grateful to be part of it. We are so grateful for Alex being part of our special day.

Wonderful, even from afar!
My now husband and I were planning a small, intimate wedding in Hendersonville, NC from southern Pennsylvania. Planning a wedding from hundreds of miles away can be stressful, but hiring Alex took the stress out of the officiant part! I originally messaged him on Wedding Wire and he responded very fast and was polite and professional from the very beginning. He sent us sooooo much information and so many options for our wedding ceremony. Even though he didn't know us personally, it felt like he did by the time our wedding day rolled around. It can be unnerving to be married by someone you've never met, but it didn't feel that way with Alex. He had everything printed out and was ready for our witnesses to sign after the ceremony. He made sure we knew where to go to drop off our signed marriage licenses (which he offered to do for us, but we wanted to pick up our marriage certificate right away so we did this ourselves). Many of guests made comments about how wonderful he was and how great the whole ceremony was. We had a few people who are hard of hearing and they said they heard every word he said, even on top of a lookout.
We truly cannot say enough good things about Alex. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Married on top of the world!
In a quick month's prep, on Friday night May 24, 2024, we were blessed to be able to have our ceremony on the rooftop at Kaleideum in downtown Winston-Salem and our Officiant Alex made the entire ceremony absolutely amazing! Alex was our first choice in the selection and when we got the word he was available we were acstatic and felt like all the pieces would now fall in to place! It truly made our day! See, we're a second chance at love couple and when we decided to have our ceremony it was one of those times in life where things go from the "let's do it" discussion to the " I do" moment in a flash! We decided, planned, and executed all within a month and it was the most beautiful experience ever! I'm the kind of gal that enjoys times like that; when things just seem to work out better when they are not overly planned, ya know! But anyway, Alex jumped right in and worked with us and in under 2 weeks was able to help us put together our beautiful, love felt, emotionally filled ceremony ....AND then came to our location, out on the Rooftop bridge and performed to most touching ceremony I have ever heard!!! And he did it while having to compete, vocally, with the unexpected streetside concert next door! He is amazing and if you are still up in the air about who to have perform your joining look no further!! Alex is your officiant!!! The one you want, believe me!!

Alex was truly amazing! He was punctual, very sociable, willing to work with us when my wife to be was a little late. His part of the ceremony was funny, witty, charming, and just an overall delight would recommend to any and everyone that needs services he rovides!

Alex is amazing!
We LOVED Alex. When it came to hiring an officiant for our day, my now husband and I wanted someone who was wise (but not boring), funny (but not cheesy), and had just the right amount of religion to sprinkle into our ceremony for our blended-religion families (Catholic & Baptist). Alex was everything you could have wanted and more. When we had our rehearsal the evening before, Alex cracked jokes, didn’t go verbatim through the entire ceremony (which I loved so it didn’t spoil it for our family!), and overall brought such a warm and inviting energy to our rehearsal and wedding day itself. Of course I had nerves about the ceremony as someone who is anxious- but Alex did a fantastic job of bringing heartfelt moments to the brink, then landing you softly with a lighthearted joke here and there. Only wishing we could get married again to enjoy his company once more! Oh- and let’s not forget, without being prompted, he moved so quickly to be out of frame for our first kiss and I greatly appreciate him for taking this into account.

A True Showman
6 months ago, I mistakenly told Alex our wedding started at 5. The day before our wedding he found out it actually started at 5 and was able to make the adjustment and be at our wedding right on time. He arrived, went right down the aisle, and delivered the best, most heart warming, officiating I could have ever imagined. Alex is a true showman and even in the rehearsal had our audience listening to his every last word.
One would be silly not to hire Alex Cheek to officiate their wedding. Thank you from the bottom of our heart for making our day so special, happy, and FUN! We hope you all the best in your many weddings to come.

Definitely a special officiant!
We had a microwedding and weren't really expecting too much from an officiant. However, Alex completely changed that. We had people telling us how great of a presence he was and how it was the best ceremony they had attended in a long time. He truly made our day unique and extremely special to us. Thank you, Alex!

Funny and flexible
Alex was amazing and we highly recommend him. We were married in April on a rainy day in Toptin NC. however we are from Texas. Alex worked with us via email and phone calls to plan the perfect ceremony, but as life would have it the day arrived and so did the rain. We had our hearts set on an outdoor, top of the mountain elopement ceremony and Alex made it happen! We were given a 20 minute window between showers and Alex did an amazing job with what we had to work with. He was able to add personal jokes and laughter into the quick ceremony that was very fitting for us. Thank you Alex and once again we HIGHLY recommend him!

Alex made our ceremony so special and was amazing throughout the whole process. He works to understand who you are as a couple and what you envision your ceremony to be. If you have no idea where to start or what you want, he walks you through so many options and allows complete flexibility in his delivery. His ceremonies are 100% hand crafted for the individuals he is working with so there can be as many personal touches as you’d like. Hero of my Wedding
Alex was one of the best vendor choices I made for my wedding. He is such a kind and knowledgeable man, and he really was a cornerstone that helped keep my wedding day running smoothly. He made creating the written portion of our ceremony easy while still keeping it creative and unique to our event.
My now husband and I had not personally attended many weddings and had very minimal knowledge of the day of process, and Alex soothed all our anxiety about our big day. He led our rehearsal that we came into with no plan, and ironed out our ceremony in a quick, efficient, and engaging way.
My actual wedding day did not go to plan, and he arrived and was immediately informed we did not have a photographer as expected. He had no problem adjusting at the literal last minute to swap our tech free ceremony to requesting our guests involvement in photography, while also reassuring the anxious groom.
After our ceremony it turned out Alex personally went out to contact photographers he knew to see if any were available to come and help us out. We luckily did end up with a replacement photographer from our original company, but it was such a personal and touching thing to know Alex had wanted to use his connections and fix this issue for us.
If you are looking for an officiant for your wedding, I cannot recommend Alex enough. He is there for you every step of the way and I can testify he will go above and beyond for your special day. I am so glad we hired him for our event and will recommend him to any family or friends married after us. Thank you Alex!

All of my guests were Brazilian, and Alex did the perfect job of doing it in Portuguese, the whole ceremony!

Needing an Officiant
Your excited about your upcoming wedding and you think everything is on schedule UNTIL who you thought was going to marry you backs out 10 days before your big day. OH NO! What do you do? Don't fret Ceremonies by Alex to the rescue. We could not have been more pleased. Alex walked us through the ceremony. He was extremely helpful and professional. Alex made us feel relaxed and we knew our ceremony would be special. We especially liked the warming of the rings as did our guests. It added a special touch to our special day. Alex was great! We didn't know how indepth ceremony programs are and Alex really helped us navigate through it. He was also able to incorporate some filipino traditions flawlessly into our ceremony. He was funny and thoughtful!
