Irene invited me and my husband to rehearse at her place since we were really busy and could not find time to rehearse everything at the church before. She insist that we at least go through everything one time. Moreover, she wrote personal stories based on the questionnaire she sent us and the story is perfect just as touchy and funny as I expect it to be. I have to say it is because of her sense of responsibility and professionalism that everything went smoothly. If you agree with me that officiant is the most important part of anyone's big day then Irene K is the one you can trust.

Irene was wonderful to work with. She sent a page of questions that we filled out and returned, and was able to craft a lovely ceremony that was about our relationship and our journey to the altar. We met prior to the wedding and she was able to guide our rehearsal practice just with the notes she gave us. She knows what she is doing and does a great job. We both highly recommend Irene. She's a very calming personality during the often chaotic process of arranging a wedding.

Irene is warm, organized, punctual, enthusiastic, and creative. She was a joy to work with! We had an initial meet-and-greet meeting with her over Zoom so she could learn what we were looking for in a ceremony, then we filled out a detailed questionnaire so she could learn more about us. She weaved our questionnaire answers together to write our love story, which was a significant part of the ceremony. She also gave us advice about writing our own vows, and gave us a few options to choose from for the ring exchange portion. She was wonderful to collaborate with and was always responsive to our questions via email, and she was happy to incorporate some edits after we reviewed the ceremony draft. The final ceremony she crafted was lighthearted, joyful, and deeply meaningful. We also appreciated how she checked in with us right before the ceremony to see how we were doing. Thank you so much, Irene!

Irene Kane made our wedding day so special-- it was just absolutely perfect. Her thoughtful and warm words coupled with a great sense of humor made us feel at ease and reminded us how much we love each other as we stood before our family and friends.

Many of our guests complimented Irene's services after our wedding and my friend even booked her for her wedding later this year.

Everything she said was just perfect (and we were a little nervous since we didn't know exactly what she had written in her script) as the words she chose and stories she shared were honest and entertaining for our guests (and us). It was such a fun ceremony-- I hadn't expected to smile so much... We are so happy she married us!

I highly recommend Irene Kane to be part of any ceremony and/or celebration as her positive energy and warm smile make everyone feel special and comfortable. It just felt right.

We absolutely loved having Irene for our wedding officiant. She is such a calm and relaxing presence it made it so easy to share our feelings about our ceremony and to enjoy the ceremony itself. Her personal questionnaire we filled out about ourselves and each other (separately) was really helpful in adding the essence of who we are as individuals as well as who we are as a couple into our ceremony. Irene was also a delightful person to hear speak as she incorporated sincerity and humor into the event by weaving our own words into her dialogue which made the moment touching, personal and fun. My wife and I were married in the Bay Area on July of 2014. Being from Canada, we needed assistance on how to acquire a Marin County marriage certificate, how to commence a civil union and photography advice. I came across Irene’s website in a Google search of “Bay Area Wedding Officiants”. The layout was exceptional and I was able to answer some questions from her detailed site.

Irene and I then spoke on the phone after I emailed her to inquire on her availability. She was very professional and her response time to my emails was impeccable. Irene also had a number of templates depending on how we wanted to ceremony to go. We chose to go with a non-denominational Civil Union and Irene gave us questionnaires to fill out beforehand to add into the proceedings. The Skype call closer to the date was very useful. It gave my wife and I a better understanding of who would be officiating our wedding and was undoubtedly helpful for Irene as well.

Irene’s experience as a photographer also allowed her to point us in the direction of a number of photographers whose work she trusted. I was able to get in touch with Liza Head of Juniper Spring who did an exceptional job capturing the precious moments of the day.

After the wedding, Irene ensured the process of finalizing our Marin County marriage certificate was complete. We have stayed in touch over email and I would absolutely recommend Irene as an officiant. Without her, our wedding day would not have gone a smoothly as it did.

Irene officiated at my daughter's wedding, 1/16/2010. Immediately after our introductory call we knew Irene was the officiant we wanted for our special day. Living on the opposite coast made it impossible to meet in person so it was a pleasure dealing with Irene who was always so responsive, prepared, and easy to speak with. It was very refreshing to speak with someone who's flexible and more interested in hearing what we wanted rather than having their own established script. She provided many helpful suggestions in writing our vows and ceremony as well. We heard as many wonderful comments about our ceremony than our other wedding festivities.

We travelled from Sydney Australia to be married in Pacifica, California on the date above. Irene was recommended by our celebrant, and she travelled across from Oakland to photograph the wedding. This was held in a fairly remote and beautiful area overlooking the ocean, and involved considerable stair climbing. Irene was most creative and made full use of the natural features of the location as a backdrop, which resulted in 90 beautiful photos, which we wll always treasure and be proud to show. Irene also acted as official witness to the ceremony, and could not have been more congenial and helpful in every way. She has our absolute recommendation.

We were very fortunate having Irene Kane married us. Irene helped us choreographed a ceremony that was special and personal to our values and preferences. Irene was there every step of the way making sure that we did not miss any detail. Irene is kind, warm, genuine and she has such an amazing voice. During the ceremony our mothers forgot to light the uniting candles but Irene very calmly changed the order of our ceremony program on spot and invited our mothers to light the candles a bit later without the guests noticing anything -- she is very experienced. Thank you so much Irene for delivering such a beautiful and flawless ceremony for us.

Irene was an excellent minister for our wedding! She provided many readings, ceremonies, vows, etc for us to choose from to customize our wedding. I cannot speak highly enough of Irene as a person and officiant. My bride and I are so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with her. From the onset, we were struck by her calming and personable nature. She prepared us so well for the ceremony - which definitely made us less nervous and worried both before and during the ceremony. During our prep meetings, she always had plenty of options from which to choose - making it fairly easy to piece together the program. This review is long overdue! Irene is absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend her as an officiant. Last August, Irene officiated our wedding at the Palm's Event Center in Pleasanton. Aside from being the sweetest lady you will ever meet, she's extremely professional and takes what she does seriously. She shows genuine interest in understand your history together, why you've chosen to take the big step, what you love about each other and even what bugs you to no end. THEN builds a beautiful story to tell your family and friends on the big day.
Our guest had such a good time during the ceremony, laughing and laughing and laughing again. It was perfect, Irene! We had so many guest comment on how wonderful you were. You made it a day we will never forget.

I found Irene when I attended a friend's wedding that was wonderfully personal, touching and humorous. I knew that she would be the perfect person to perform my marriage. I was right. Working with her was very easy. She is quite organized and provides many options and suggestions so that you can create a ceremony that fits your own personality and situation. She also provides questionnaires that the bride and groom fill out. She uses this information to write a personal story about the two of you that she tells during the ceremony. She has a calm and relaxed manner which really helps with nerves when you're standing up in front of everyone, but she is also lighthearted and there was quite a bit of laughter which was wonderful. The guests loved the ceremony and listened to every word. Many people told us afterwards, that our wedding ceremony was the best they had ever attended. We have wonderful memories of our day, and Irene was a very big part of that. I would highly recommend her.

I can't say enough to express how thrilled we were with Irene. It has been three weeks and we are still so emotional about our wedding day and how absolutely perfect it was - so much of that is because of Irene.

We live in Arizona and were planning our wedding for 60 people in San Francisco. The ceremony was planned at a church outside of the city with the reception in San Fran.

Problems arose with the church we had booked. We got zero response from the pastor who was to perform our ceremony for 6 weeks. Broken-hearted, we cancelled the church ceremony and moved everything to the reception site. We reached Irene through a recommendation from the reception site. Kyle talked to Irene first because I was still hurt by the other church. He LOVED her immediately!

Irene was so responsive and caring with the planning of our ceremony. To us this was the most important part of the day and Irene made sure that it was amazing. She sent us so many options. We could pick the ceremony the was perfect for us! PERFECT! It was so US that I couldn't believe it.

She also included a decent length survey during the process to get to know us. So, when she gave our personal stories during the ceremony, it was so amazing. Our families were floored by how specific it was to us. Irene was warm, genuine and I wish I could use her again - but I'm pretty set with my new husband.

We love you, Irene! Thank you for making our wedding day everything we dreamed of and more!

Irene was a wonderful officiant. She helped us create a beautiful ceremony. She dropped in before the wedding to make sure that I was doing okay before the ceremony. I was very nervous, but she made us laugh during the ceremony with the stories that we provided to her through her very thorough questionnaire. Our friends and families came up to us after the ceremony, telling us how wonderful the ceremony was, and asked us who she was.

Needless to say, she was a wonderful officiant. It was one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding.

Irene was an all around great officiant. Very easy to work with, warm and friendly. She provided us different options to choose from on vows, readings, rituals, and other aspects of a wedding ceremony. This was very helpful - we were able to use this information and create our own ceremony that suited us by mixing and matching pieces we liked.

Irene also personalized our ceremony by getting to know us and writing a short personal history. We received several compliments after the wedding about how they enjoyed the ceremony and the warmth and personal touch Irene brought to it. Shortly after our wedding Irene provided us a copy of the ceremony as a keepsake, which was a very nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed working with her during the entire process.

Irene was an absolutely amazing officiant for my wedding a few weeks ago. Going into the wedding planning process, my wife and I were definitely looking forward more to the reception than the ceremony -- that all changed on the day of our wedding and we now agree that the ceremony was our favorite part of the day, all thanks to Irene! It was great to have her guide us through the process of creating a meaningful, personalized ceremony. Our guests all raved about how wonderful everything was because it gave them a chance to peek into our lives and learn more about my wife and I as a couple.

Irene was there for us throughout the process of creating the elements we wanted to include in the ceremony, including personalized vows, an off-the-wall reading, and a detailed story of how our love has grown over the years. Even though we only met with Irene a few times to plan, it felt like she was a family friend by the end of the wedding. She was always very responsive via email and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know us. All of her hard work absolutely paid off on the day of as we had a ceremony that brought down the house.

You really can't do better than Irene for an officiant.

Irene put together such a thoughtful and well written wedding ceremony for us, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had so many compliments from our guests and everyone said she performed such a nice and personal ceremony. She created a personal story for us based on a questionnaire that me and my husband filled out separately. We asked her not to show it to us before the ceremony and we were glad we kept it a surprise as it made the ceremony feel more special. Irene officiated our June 11, 2011 wedding at the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden. With the help of a questionaire and a couple of pre-wedding meetings, she put together a ceremony that was warm, funny and personal. She is great about working with you to create a custom ceremony exactly as you want it. She made our ceremony really wonderful and it was obvious that our guests enjoyed it too. Irene was the perfect officiant for our wedding this past October. Since my fiance and I were living apart at the time, we first "met" her on Skype and her calm and caring demeanor was exactly what we were looking for in an officiant. She sent us some questionnaires to help understand how we met, what our qualities were, etc. We visited her in her home office in Berkeley one month before our wedding and we went over the processional and some other details, and we had a lovely time meeting her in person for the first time.

With a few weeks to go, she sent us a draft of the ceremony, which we read and thought was beautiful. She also printed out our vows and kept them with her for the ceremony, which was a nice touch! On the day of the wedding she came up and saw us an hour before the ceremony to touch base, which we appreciated. The ceremony went perfectly; she had a loving, warm, and energetic delivery. The ceremony was very celebratory and had just the right amount of emotion and laughter. We were blessed to have had Irene officiate our wedding and we will remember that day fondly for the rest of our lives. Many of our guests had nothing but praises for the way Irene officiated our ceremony.

My husband found Irene on wedding wire after doing plenty of research on a quality officiant that would meet our expectations for a very special ceremony that would open our guest up to a description of our love.
Wow, she went above and beyond and really help paint a clear picture of our love. Many of our guest said are ceremony was so special and they could feel how much we loved each other. Having Irene outline our ceremony was the best thing we did.
She even sent us a document of our entire ceremony with a beautiful picture that I am going to frmae.. THANKS SO MUCH IRENE.

Irene officiated our wedding last year and let me say: she is great! Our wedding ceremony was our favorite part of the day. My husband still laughs (and is amused/happy) that fantasy baseball made it into our vows. So many of our guests complimented us on the ceremony and laughed along with us during the various parts.

Irene is very warm and friendly; and she has an exceptional reading voice - I cannot stress enough how gifted she is with public speaking. All of my guests were so impressed with her. Not only did she deliver the fun/joke-y parts of the ceremony with a great/perfect tone, but she just exuded such a friendly and warm aura throughout the whole ceremony. She set such a great tone/mood for the ceremony and made our wedding day so memorable and perfect.

When searching for our officiant, we wanted someone who didn't mind delivering a non-denominational ceremony and who could make the ceremony a light-hearted and fun experience for both us and our guests. We weren't disappointed. She provided us with a few different options for the ceremony and let us decide on what she would cover, any additional things (readings, rituals, etc) to be part of the ceremony, etc. Also, before the ceremony, she gave us questionnaires to fill out and incorporated these into the reading (thus leading to the fantasy baseball mention, as well as other things, haha). What resulted was a very sweet and personalized ceremony that we'll always look back on with a big smile.

(Note: she has other ceremony options too, which are more serious/solemn/religious/etc. She's very diverse in the types of weddings she can perform and will work with you to achieve the ceremony you want).

Also, during the actual ceremony, she would help whisper little things to us at times. For example, when my husband was putting on my ring, she discreetly whispered to him to look me in the face (rather than at my hands). All of these cues were really inconspicuous, as we can't even see them on our wedding video. She also helped to cue when I should hand my bouquet off to the maid of honor. In terms of the ceremony planning, she was very flexible and incorporated the sand blending ritual, as well as other reading seamlessly. She even accommodated a change to the ceremony that I was nervous about the night before! She was easily accessible via email, phone, etc for advice. Also, she was really helpful with other wedding planning aspects, like the processional, timeline, etc.

Irene, our officient for our wedding from Ceremonies and Celebrations, was so wonderful to work with. She made me feel so comfortable relaxed when it came to talk about the wedding ceremony. She met with me and my now husband twice before the wedding. First, to share ideas so that we can pick out how we wanted our ceremony and to meet each other and second, to go over details of the wedding, closer to the date.
The day of the wedding, we were just so thrilled that we picked Irene to be our officient. She put together such a beautiful ceremony for us and her voice is so pleasant to listen to. In our ceremony, she incorporated some answers to a questionaire she had given me and my husband to fill out during our first meeting with Irene(We loved this part of our ceremony). This was great and it was a fun addition to our wedding ceremony. Our guests loved listening to our answers to the questionairs; we received so many great comments from our guests at the wedding.

Working with Irene was one of the highlights of our entire wedding planning experience. My husband and I didn't even know where to begin planning our ceremony. Irene guided us through the entire process and was very accommodating with our busy schedules. Her expertise and warm demeanor put us at ease, and the final product was just perfect. We are pleased to recommend Irene as a wedding officiant. She was our officiant for our wedding in July 2015. Several people commented on how unique and personal our ceremony was and how impressed with Irene they were. She took time to read answers to questions on a questionnaire she sent us before the wedding; she incorporated these answers into the ceremony to give it that personal touch. She was easy to work with while composing and practicing for the ceremony. On the day of, she made the appropriate announcements regarding cell phones and guest participation. She made us laugh, she made us cry; she really helped make our day special.

Irene was the officiant for our wedding at San Francisco City Hall last month and came recommended by a friend of ours. The whole process was so easy and we enjoyed every step with her. She really took the time to get to know us with her questionnaires as well our in-person meeting. We could not have been happier with our wedding day, and that all started with Irene and the ceremony she put together. She made it feel intimate and special which is exactly what we wanted and we will remember her forever! Everyone asked for a copy of the ceremony afterwards because they wanted to be able to read her beautiful words.

We received a list of officiants from our venue. After receiving a few responses with different officiants and exchanging a few more with Irene. We decided that Irene was the one for us. With 3 weeks left before the weeding we are very happy that Irene decided to be our officiant. Irene was wonderful to work with. We exchanged a few question and answer emails and two weeks before the wedding we met with Irene in person. It was a pleasure talking to Irene and sharing our stories with her. She was very considerate about our background and any religious practices. We received a transcript of the ceremony shortly after and it included the stories we talked about in our meeting. She made it very personal and touching. All of our guests have told us that they throughly enjoyed the ceremony.

Irene was the officiant for our June 11th ceremony. We feel very lucky to have found her. She was great at communication, gave us a lot of useful pointers during our planning, and was sincere and warm throughout.

Irene’s attention to detail was very much appreciated by me. She not only arrived at the ceremony early but made sure to stop by to talk to me before hand. During the actual ceremony, she picked up immediately the fact that our location was quite noisy (we got married at the San Francisco City Hall on a busy day) and adjusted her voice accordingly.

She always maintains a calm and warm presence, which was very helpful because even though I was nervous before the ceremony, I knew it will turn out great as soon as I saw Irene, and thus I was able to relax and enjoy my day. Irene added personal tidbits into our ceremony wordings, making the ceremony unique and special for us.

Again, my husband and I feel very fortunate to have had Irene as our wedding officiant. Thank you, Irene!!

Irene was the perfect choice for our elopement to San Francisco City Hall. We had to plan everything from England and without all the help from Irene, it could have been very stressful. We had a lot of contact before the big day and we have had contact since and with every email Irene has been very kind and helpful.

Irene is very warm, and obviously very caring. Her/our ceremony was perfect and we would not have changed a thing. She allowed us to write our own vows, with some help along the way, and we really could not be happier.

We chose Irene from a list of recommended vendors from the Faculty Club (even though we did not get married at the Faculty Club). Our main consideration when choosing an officiant was that we wanted someone non-denominational who could help us create a ceremony that was touching and light-hearted. When we met with Irene she had a very pleasant demeanor and didnt make us feel like we were just another cookie cutter couple like another officiant we met with. She gave us some sample ceremony selections from which we could use to help us create our own unique ceremony.

One item I especially liked about Irene was that she gives each engaged couple a questionnaire to fill out to get to know the couple better. She included information from our answers to personalize our ceremony. I liked the items she picked to include and it got a great response from our guests.

Irene also helped to conduct our rehearsal along with our coordinator. They worked really well together. I highly recommend having them both at the rehearsal if you can. The bridal party got to meet them before the wedding so they knew who to look to for direction besides the bride. Also, since both Irene and our coordinator were there, they took care of lining everyone up and pacing everyone out so the most complicated thing I had to remember was the hand-off between my dad and (now) husband during the ceremony.

Irene was our favorite vendor during our wedding planning process. She was personal, warm and super efficient. We contacted multiple potential officiants in the beginning, but she was the only one who gave us the comprehensive details of how her approach would be. We knew she would be the one even before speaking to her. During our first phone conversation, we shared how we envisioned our wedding; she was a good listener and took a lot of notes. She sent us a questionnaire to get to know us better following our conversation. Next thing we know she wrote a beautiful personal story of us along with multiple versions of vows for us to choose. We also met her in person to rehearse what we need to do in the wedding. The rehearsal really helped us to get grips of what were the logistics, so we could fully embrace the emotions and joys during our ceremony. We don’t think our ceremony would be so warm, personal and touching without Irene.

Wonderful officiant!

We cannot thank Irene enough for her role as officiant at our wedding. She has a gracious, welcoming presence, wrote a beautiful ceremony, and included special requests into our ceremony---from suggested readings (which was a bit challenging as we did not want one that sounded too "Hallmark-like")---to the invitation to hug your neighbor during the ceremony---since this was the first time that our families were meeting. We recommend her highly and feel so lucky she was available to perform our ceremony. Thank you, Irene!

My husband and I were recently married at the Brazilian Room in Tilden Park. Irene is recommended by the venue, and we decided to contact her. We are sure glad we did! After our first conversation with her, we never contacted anyone else.

We really appreciated how professional and experienced Irene was throughout the entire process and at the wedding. She had many examples of beautiful ceremonies, and we ended up building our ceremony structure from parts of the different examples. She was glad to accommodate any edits, suggestions, and requests -- she really just wanted us to love our ceremony. She had a detailed questionnaire that we filled out, and she used that to write a beautiful personal introduction story for our ceremony that we and our guests absolutely loved. Irene has an amazing speaking style and delivered the ceremony in such a heartfelt way. Many of the guests confessed to tearing up, and when I started crying happy tears, Irene was prepared with a tissue for me.

We really cannot imagine any part of the process or ceremony going better -- she was a joy to work with and succeeded in making a wonderful, memorable ceremony.

Excellent officiant!

Irene was a wonderful officiant for our secular wedding. She had a wealth of suggested rituals and readings and got to know us through an extensive survey. She wrote a beautiful ceremony and helped us rehearse all the little details from walking down the aisle to practicing putting rings on. Our guests really enjoyed her balance of grace and humor!

When we first spoke with Irene, we knew we wanted her to be our officiant. Irene is so calm and collective. Since our wedding party weren't close by, "rehearsal" was limited to verbal description. But I felt totally comfortable during the ceremony just because of her demeanor. Her words were very thoughtful and engaging with family and guests. We couldn't be happier!

Irene was a wonderful officiant for our small wedding (18 people). We did not have an official rehearsal, but we went through the ceremony we had planned carefully with her a week before the wedding. I was not nearly as nervous during the ceremony as I thought I would be, because she spoke so confidently and was able to smoothly cue us when we should be speaking or doing something.

One hour before the wedding, my mother said she wanted to include a special cultural tradition in the ceremony. Irene did not object to this last minute change, and was able to help us include it in the ceremony in a way that made it look like it was planned all along. We really appreciated her flexibility and the way she helped things run smoothly.

I cannot say enough about how fantastic Irene was at our wedding. From the moment I saw her website I knew she would be a great fit and an initial phone conversation confirmed that to me. We met with her before deciding since an officiant is a very important part of the ceremony.

She supplied a lot of material to let us tailor the perfect ceremony. She was very flexible in letting us decide what we were comfortable with and what we were not. She has a very calming demeanor and at the same time delivers everything with such sincerity.

We did not have her at our rehearsal but did a run through with her a couple of weeks out. I was a little worried about this but everything went smoothly since she had worked previously at the venue and the venue person was able to take her notes and let us know what was going to happen. This was our choice to not have her at the rehearsal and it worked out well for us. So I would say if Irene and the venue both feel it is not necessary to be there, trust them!

Thank you so much, Irene for being such an important part of our day! Out of everything from that day the ceremony is what I will remember most and you can trust Irene to do a wonderful job.

My husband and I recently got married in Clayton, CA. Irene Kane was our wedding officiant....we could not have been happier with our decision to have Irene officiate our wedding. As stated in many of these Yelp! reviews, Irene took the time to get to know each one of us through a personal questionnaire and in-person meetings. We had a cross cultural marriage, and Irene attended to these details very warmly and with professionalism. She even had many ideas on how to integrate both cultures.

Our guests throughly enjoyed the "personal story" she wrote and shared during the ceremony of how we met and our unique personalities. Irene spoke very eloquently and a voice that projected well throughout the hall we were married in. Her attention to detail was impeccable. We hired her for our rehearsal the night before as well. By the time she arrived, she gracefully organized and lined up the bridal party - calling each person by their name (this is her personal style - i felt I had known her for years - not just 5 months).

If you are looking for a very personable and reliable officiant, Irene is for you. She will make your ceremony (and wedding - our guests continued to talk about the ceremony at our wedding reception!), very memorable. Irene is truly doing her life's work. There are so many people out there with a "license to wed," but if you truly want meaning and passion in your ceremony, hire Irene. This is truly her calling...and it is evident when you meet with her and plan your ceremony. All the best in your wedding planning!

I found Irene through Yelp and decided to meet her to see if we wanted her to perform our ceremony. We both knew right away that she was the perfect choice. She was very professional and easy to talk to. She did a personalized ceremony for us that everyone loved! She didn't attend our rehearsal at the venue but was very communicative to the site coordinator so that we knew how everything would go during the ceremony. We could not have asked for a better ceremony, thank you Irene!
