As of 2025 the floral dept at central market west gate does not offer any wedding floral services . Sorry we just have too much work to do in store .

Beautiful & Delicious Cake!

My Husband and I tried dozens of Bakeries in Austin trying to find the perfect cake. We are big fans of Central Market, so we decided to give them a try. We were in love with their cake from the first bite. They did a beautiful two tier cake for our Wedding. I highly recommend them!

Great appetizers and tartlets!

We ordered appetizers and some desserts from Central Market at the recommendation of our planners at Lovely Day Events. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced! We ordered dates filled with blue cheese, spinach artichoke profiteroles, rosemary shrimp skewers, the rustic cheese platter, antipasto platter, cracker baskets, and the mini tartlets for dessert. I recommend Central Market and would order appetizers from there again for an event!

Cakes that taste as good as they look!

What wonderful, delicious cakes we had. The groom had a bat man theme and the bridal cake looked just like the photo we provided. And it didn't break the bank! Delivery was perfect

Diana did the flowers for my wedding, and I was so happy with the result! Before meeting with Diana, the other florists I checked out were pricey, overwhelming, and just overly complicated. When someone first suggested Diana at Central Market, I was concerned that I might end up with something sub-par or cheap-looking. But this is far from your typical grocery store level florist. Diana is incredibly knowledgeable about all things floral AND all things specific to wedding floral. She helped me think through several issues I would not have even considered otherwise, because she has done this before and knows how it works. She will get you an end result that is every bit as Pinterest-worthy as the other guys, while being a lot more reasonable in terms of price and overall approach. She was very flexible and worked with us to get us just what we wanted and nothing we didn’t. I really appreciated how she was very good at taking my ideas for what I wanted and translating them into something real that was doable, beautiful, classy, and true to the look I was going for. My flowers ended up looking more gorgeous than I had even imagined, and I could not have been more pleased. Diana saved me money and unnecessary hassle, and helped make my day beautiful. Definitely check her out.

We used the Central Market Westgate location for both our wedding and grooms cake. Sue Ellen worked with us during our tasting and booking, and we also worked with Mercedes during the payment phase. I was beyond pleased with the quality and service at Central Market. The cakes were delicious and absolute crowd pleasers. Not to mention very affordable compared to the fancy bakeries in town. The delivery was on time and perfectly set up. I highly recommend this Central Market location for wedding cake services.

One of the things that guests at our wedding raved about the most was our wedding cake! Central Market-Westgate did an awesome job decorating the cake the way I envisioned all the while being simply delicious. They were so easy to work with and super flexible. I couldn't be more pleased with their work and I'm really glad we had them as part of our wedding

We used CM for our flowers and cake. We did the arrangements ourselves to save money, but the floral manager was very, very helpful and special ordered large quantities in the colors and varieties we asked for. She also helped us pick out some flowers that went with we had ordered to help make our selections looks fuller and build on our initial idea. She even patiently added up everything we had thrown in the cart and created a label for the cashier to scan that included our entire floral order at checkout. She made the process really easy and we appreciated all her advice in the selections and help.

We had CM create a small 1-tier wedding cake for us that had a unique frosting texture. I sent them a few pictures from my phone when we placed the order. The cake looked and tasted great. Quite a steal for a small wedding.

I wasn't picky about flowers, so I decided the best route to go would be to just make "messy" bouquets and centerpieces myself. The selection of flowers at this store is AMAZING--there was everything from a simple rose bouquet to tropical, spikey flowers I had never seen. So I used some of everything! I ran around like a crazy person grabbing some of everything and the nicest employee ever just followed behind me, keeping track of what I was picking so it could be rung up faster and putting everything in buckets of water for us to transport. I probably filled 5 buckets FULL of all different flowers and paid less than $280--I had expected it to be higher for sure by the way I was just grabbing without paying attention to price. They helped make suggestions for what went well with each other, color, heat tolerance, etc. I would highly recommend them for ANY type of event requiring floral needs.

Diana was very helpful in our initial meeting to discuss the budget and variety of flowers I could choose from. She was clear in her recommendations and let me know what to expect. We made adjustments as needed to my order along the way. It was a pleasure to work with Diana and Central Market at Westgate.

We used Donna for our floral needs and she was great! The bouquets turned out beautifully. I also loved that she used pearl and sparkle bracelets for he corsages. She was very nice to talk to and was always very helpful.

I didn't want to spend a thousand dollars on something that would vanish by the end of the reception so we opted with Central Market. The cake tasted wonderful and with a few additions from our florist it looked pretty too. I chose red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting for the wedding cake and chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting for the grooms cake. My husband wanted a Texas Longhorn cake and while our budget didn't allow for an elaborate design, they were able to make us a sheet cake with a longhorn on it. We decorated around hiis cake table, so it looked great as a finished product. We were happy and I felt like we got exactly what we paid for.

Noi at Central Market Westgate put together a beautiful bouquet of flowers for our church on our 50th wedding anniversary. I wanted an English Country Garden Bouquet of purple, pink and white flowers and the boquet exceeded my expectations - very beautiful

I made my own bouquets with flowers I simply purchased there. However, they do have a full service wedding florist in-house. The flowers were beautiful and affordable from my perspective since I didn't get a ton. Lovely if you want to DIY or just need to pick up a few last-minute flowers.

Please, please DO NOT HESITATE - call Central Market right now for your floral needs. I was nervous because of the great price and the fact that florals aren't their only business, but that fear was completely unfounded. I had the most amazing experience with Central Market, and specifically Donna Burkhalter. They responded to every one of my requests, tried so hard to give me the peonies that I wanted (even though I couldn't afford them), but then snuck a few into my bouquet as a lovely surprise. The delivery was early, the price was amazing, they through in so many extra little touches, and everything arrangement and bloom was GORGEOUS. I was so happy with this vendor. Please, don't spend more money when you don't have to.

Donna Foster at Central Market is fabulous to work with!! Several other close friends recommended her to me, and I was not disappointed. I really don't know much about flowers, but I was able to explain to Donna the vision I had of the wedding, colors and a few favorite flowers, and she was able to help me pull together something really beautiful. I changed my mind several times, and she was so patient with me and flexible. She made it so easy. I even made a last-minute request for a bridal bouquet for my bridal portraits a couple of days before the shoot, and she was able to deliver beautifully. I highly recommend Donna to any bride looking for beautiful flowers at a reasonable price.

Donna Foster at Central Market North Lamar did my bouquet and it was so beautiful. I frantically called Donna 1 week before the wedding thinking I wanted to change my floral pics for the bouquet. Donna had already ordered all the flowers we had originally discussed but offered to change it. I stuck with the original design and I'm glad I did. It was so much more beautiful than I ever expected. It was so sad when the flowers died. Absolutely beautiful and Donna truly captured exactly what I wanted.

The bakers at Central Market - Westgate are some of the most amazing artists imaginable. Effy, the baker for our cakes, did a superb job in a short amount of time. We've seen (and tasted) cakes of all prices, and Effy delivered the best looking and best tasting cake for the best price. You truly can't beat the value and you (and your guests) will be extremely pleased with the end result.

Donna at Central Market North Lamar was FANTASTIC! She had great ideas and really listened to all of mine. Our flowers were GORGEOUS and there is no way I could have gotten the value for cost anywhere else in the city. They even let me bring in my own vases for the centerpieces to help cut down cost. (Though the vases I did use of theirs only added a couple dollars per bouquet, nothing extreme). I would HIGHLY recommend using them if you're trying to go with quality on a budget.

I had a small wedding (40 people) so I needed simple, inexpensive centerpieces and a bouquet! The hydrangeas I chose were stunning but best of all Donna made things so easy! I only met with her once and everything else was done by phone. She was very friendly and professional and straightforward.

Donna at Central Market North was awesome! I can't even begin to tell you how beautiful my flowers were, she gave me exactly what I wanted and more. I wanted some non-traditional flowers and she knew just how to bring that to life. I was so happy on my wedding day when the flowers came, I couldn't have imagined them any better. The big plus was the price. I got quotes from a few other flower places in Austin and she was over 50% less than them and I got a ton of flowers. Use Donna at Central Market and you will not be disappointed.

My bridesmaids and I decided to have a go at making our own bouquets, and Donna in the Central Market flower shop on 38th was so helpful in helping me figure out exactly which and how many flowers I needed to make exactly what I wanted. The order came in and I received a call from her letting me know of a small difference from what we ordered, and they were so helpful in finding me an alternative to make sure I was happy with what I got. Making your own bouquet is a fun way to put a more personal touch on your day, and the gals at Central Market were a huge help in making that possible. Besides their great customer service, the flowers there are very affordable and I would go back to them again and again.

I ordered the bulk of my flowers (all gerbera daisies) from another vendor, but when I got them, the one color I needed for my bouquet was missing. I tried a couple different places around Austin but no one seemed to have many, if any, gerberas. Luckily, I called Central Market (Lamar & 38th) and they had a whole bucket full of the burgundy color I needed (not to mention every other color imaginable). They were cheap, too, and in fantastic condition. A couple family friends actually made my bouquet for me, and it was one of my favourite details from the wedding. If you are doing your own flowers, or at least bouquets/boutonnieres, I'd definitely recommend getting your flowers from Central Market. Great selection, great condition, and friendly staff.

Our experience with Central Market catering department in Austin, TX, was nothing short of amazing. We had to customize our wedding cake and groom's cake and was not a problem with the department head, Vanessa. She went above and beyond to make our dream cakes come true, and was with us every step of the way. Her vision and creativity is unsurpassed. Thank you Vanessa and the Central Market team for making our wedding cakes the focal point of our wedding. People still can't stop talking about the beautiful presentation and taste of our cakes. You guys our aces in our book.

The fact that I wanted a nontraditional bouquet for my wedding did not phase Gerry at Central Market. He pulled together a truly lovely bouquet. When I told him that I wanted a center piece, but couldn't give him any more help than the general theme (southwestern) he produced a wonderful arrangement that we still have almost two weeks later. And the prices were very reasonable.

We worked with Mercedes at Central Market Westgate for our 2 wedding cakes and assorted cookies. She was so nice and easy to work with. I printed off photos from Pinterest and they executed the look flawlessly. Both of them turned out beautifully and were some of the freshest, best tasting cakes we have ever had (we are still eating them!). We chose a semi-naked vanilla w/ lemon cream filling, and a chocolate cake w/ choc. mousse and raspberry filling, plus the chocolate chunk and blueberry cream cookies. Our guests were raving about them all night. I took off 1 star because the delivery fee was pretty high, but they arrived at our venue right on time.

Although I never even laid eyes on the food at my wedding, I am told it was presented beautifully and was delicious. We had only finger foods for our afternoon wedding, and were on a tight budget. The coordinator at Central Market expressed concern that I hadn't ordered enough food for my number of guests, and she was right, I suppose, because it went fast. I added a few more items. However, we stayed within our budget and no one seemed unhappy (perhaps the open bar helped?) so I am pleased with my choice.

Donna and Central Market offered beautiful flowers for a reasonable price, especially considering how experienced and popular she is. We got two large flower arrangements in iron scroll stands, bridal bouquets for portraits and the ceremony, a toss bouquet, 3 BM bouquets, 3 corsages, 8 boutonniers, 20 gerbera daisies for floating centerpieces, and some hydrangea for the cake for about $1000, and delivery was very reasonable. The two large arrangements of hydrangea, roses and gladiolus sat on the sides of the aisle for the ceremony and then moved indoors to decorate the buffet line and cake table. I am a big e-mail person, so it was a little weird to me that Donna doesn't do e-mail at all, but it was still remarkably easy to work with her anyway. We met once and corresponded by phone messages and quotes-by-mail after that, and it all worked out perfectly. We loved our flowers!

Diana was great,she gave my wife and I very good advice on what flowers could work for our wedding.She was 100% professional and knew exactly what we wanted.We developed trust in her from the start and it really was a surprise to see her beautiful work.We both would like to thank her for such excellent flowers.

When we first began the wedding planning process, flowers were the one thing we really did not have a clue how to budget for. After contacting a local wedding florist, my head nearly exploded when she told me their minimum for a Saturday wedding was $3200. THE MINIMUM! FOR FLOWERS THAT DIE! My husband and I immediately said “no flowers” at the wedding, but after doing some research, I decided to check out Central Market (Westgate location). SO happy I did. I met with Diana for a consultation. She had great recommendations for all the personal flowers and a great solution for the centerpieces. We were providing our own vases (wine and beer bottles), and since I really wasn't particular about what kind of flowers to use, she said to wait until the week of the wedding to see what they had in stock and we could choose from there.

The result was incredible. I have received SO many compliments on my bouquet and centerpiece arrangements. Guests who weren't familiar with Central Market couldn't believe a grocery store had done such beautiful work. To give those wondering brides, like me, an idea of price, Diana put together my bouquet, three bridesmaid bouquets, 4 corsages, over 10 boutonnieres, flower girl and ring bearer flowers, and arranged all the flowers for 17 tables (again, we provided the vases) for $850! And that included delivery to the venue!! I am so happy with Diana’s work and would recommend her and Central Market for any of your floral needs.

I had no idea what I wanted in my flowers. I walked in with my mother so unsure of everything, and walked out with a complete vision of what I was going to get. The florist at Central Market South knew what she was doing and made everything perfect. The day of the wedding, when she delivered the flowers, my wedding day finally started to seem real. The flowers were the first thing to bring tears to my eyes, they were beautiful. Not only was it more beautiful than I pictured, but she went above and beyond by bringing extra flowers in the event stems broke. She was more prepared than I was, and everything was gorgeous!

Diana at Central Market Westgate is amazing!! She is such a sweetheart and brings amazing ideas to the table. She knows her stuff and what will look good and what won't! I came in clueless and left feeling so confident! We did some arrangements through them as well as bulk flowers for some other smaller vases. She can be a little hard to get a hold of because they are so busy but it is so worth it! Her and her team blew my mind with the arrangements and exactly captured the look I was going for. They even cut down and trimmed all the bulk flowers we ordered.

My flowers were beautiful! Donna is great to work with, but old school and won't communicate on email. You will play phone tag, but she will call you back.

You always see on the wedding shows that you shouldn't use a grocery store for your wedding flowers. I must say that this is definately a lie! Central Market not only provides a quality product, but because they are larger, they have the capacity to get you beautiful flowers at a fraction of the price of floral shops or boutiques. I met with Diana and gave her my vision and she was able to pull everything together just as I imagined it and she was so attentive to what it was that I wanted. When I forgot a corsage, all I had to do was call and there was no problem adding it to my order. All I did was take her everything and they delivered! When I got to the reception hall, my centerpieces were all there and tiered nicely, they delivered all of my flowers to the church and they were all so fresh and beautiful. The lilies that I had were blooming for weeks after the wedding! I am really satisfied with the results and for someone who didn't think I could afford real flowers at my wedding, Central Market pleasantly surprised me!

For DIY brides, so much cheaper and you can find beautiful fresh flowers.

We worked with Mercedes on our cake and it turned out beautifully! We asked her to use a PDF that we chose for our guest book and she replicated it on the cake perfectly - it was gorgeous and so unique. The only issue we had was that we had requested three flavors (one for each layer) and they all had just one flavor. We got two dozen cupcakes as backup and I'm glad as the main flavor we got had nuts in it and we had a nut allergy at the wedding. Also, there was some situation with the delivery and we had to pay an extra delivery charge for the cake. I'm not sure what happened, but I was pretty much over a barrel and had to pay or we would have had to pick up the cake ourselves. The delivery was going to be covered because we had all of our catering and flowers also handled by CM. Like most of the CM staff, email isn't the best way to reach them, but the results were amazing - and tasty!

Outstanding selection of flowers for our wedding. We choose flowers without any Central Market assistance being offered which is why responsiveness and professionalism aren't rate 5 of 5. However, this didn't slow us down as we knew which flowers would work best for us. We were pleased.

We knew that we wanted plenty of fresh flowers throughout our ceremony and reception, but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on something that would die/be thrown out within a day or two of the wedding. We decided to meet with Donna Foster at the 38th and Lamar Central Market. She has loads of experience and prices that cannot be beat! Her quote was less than half the cost of any other florists we considered. Because she was so much more affordable, we wondered if her quality or service would be compromised. We were pleasantly surprised by her ability to pull together lush, gorgeous bouquets, beautiful centerpieces, a fabulous head wreath for our flower girl, aisle arrangements, the list goes on and on...We were so pleased with Donna's talent and final products. She really cared about making sure that the flowers were just what we wanted, taking lots of notes on color palette, likes/dislikes, etc., and definitely came through. Now a few caveats: She does not use email so getting ahold of her or sharing inspiration pics can be a bit of a hassle. You have to leave her a voicemail and await a return call, or drop off samples. Kind of old school, but worth it. Also, make sure to have someone on your wedding day who is designated to sort through all of the flowers and get them to the right people. Central Market delivers the flowers, but doesn't do the set-up. It wasn't an issue for us in terms of ceremony/reception flowers because our coordinator and caterer took care of those. However, we had to ask a friend to put flowers on our cake and cupcake stand. And, we didn't identify one person to be responsible for distributing personal flowers. That meant that I realized two days later that my mother, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law never received their corsages. I'm pretty sure that they were in the delivery bags, but no one ever opened the last boxes or noticed that they were missing. Finally, a few of the greenery pieces were a teensy bit wilted in my bouquet. I'm not sure whether they were overwatered (the bouquet was drenched when we pulled it out of its delivery vase) or didn't stand up well. Fortunately, these were small hiccups in an otherwise wonderful day!

We decided to save money by ordering 9" round cakes. I was able to pick out 2 different flavors and had Central Market make them with plain white frosting. We then decorated the cakes ourselves due to our taste and had them displayed on staggered marble slabs. The cake was awesome (they're known for good cake) and you can't beat the price!

I had heard nothing but good things about the floral department in Central Market, so I was disappointed when things didn't work out very well with them. First, I tried calling the floral director, Diana, who is apparently the only one in the store who does wedding flowers. However, she is also the one who does all of the deliveries, etc., plus her schedule is different every day. I tried getting in touch with her for 2 weeks before I finally was able to talk to her. She was horrible about calling me back, every time I called, I had to go over the order with her again, she never got it right. Amazingly, the flowers were right on the day of the wedding, although I have no idea how. I thought they were way overpriced for what I was getting. The flowers did end up looking beautiful though.
