Yummy cake for our big day!

We had a fantastic experience with Celestial Cakery for our wedding! First of all the tasting was super fun–the little to-go cupcakes with the mix and match filling/cakes made for one of our more fun wedding-planning sessions. Ella was super easy to work with: our dream cake was a Russian Honeycake, which is a little out there, but Ella helped us come close to it with a honey spice cake with a lemony buttercream. The decision to do a *take* on Russian Honeycake instead of the actual thing was a wise one–Ella advised us that the cream which usually covers a Russian honeycake wouldn’t hold up well for a full wedding day, and I think she was absolutely on it about that. For our actual day, Ella made a beautiful and SUPER YUMMY cake with painterly green swooshes and rose gold foil on it. Our guests loved it (and so did we!) and the serving size Ella recommended was right on it (with enough leftovers for us to take a bit home with us too!). 10/10 experience! Would highly recommend!

10/10 - Beautiful, affordable, worked with our tight timeline!

I can’t recommend Celestial Cakery enough! We were on a tight timeline and had left our cake to the last minute–I think about 5 weeks out from the wedding date I was scrambling to find a baker for our wedding cake. Most options were super extravagant, overcomplicated, difficult to book, etc. Ella’s website had her number listed, so I gave her a call, and she put me right at ease. She was able to make a beautiful cake for us, and came in at ⅔ the price of other vendors. It was very important to us that we have a delicious cake with a wonderful texture and interesting flavors—not just something pretty! Ella delivered in that department, our sample box was gone super fast because everything was SO delicious! Working with her was easy and quick, she was always responsive and kind, and the finished product was absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Ella!

The BEST Vegan Cake Ever

Ella and her team made the perfect cake and cupcakes for our wedding. She was easy to work with, responsive, and brought our (vague) ideas to life beautifully. They have tons of flavor options and make it easy to taste test. No one even knew all the cupcakes were vegan at our wedding. ;) (But she offers both vegan and non!)

Delicious and beautiful cake

Delectable Elegance

We found Celestial Cakery through our venue and are so glad we did!! We sat down and gave them our idea and they made it come to life perfectly, and Vegan too!!! No one could even tell the difference. Effortless process from beginning to end! We can't say enough how happy we were with our wedding cake!

Best wedding cake ever!

Ella and Curtis make the best cakes. They were helpful and designed the cake just as we wanted it. We can’t get enough of the champagne cake with cream cheese frosting. We are still eating it one week later and it is still moist and delicious! Our wedding cake was so beautiful and we will definitely use them for any cakes we need in the future!

Beautiful Teeny Cake!

We decided to have a cake very late in the game for our wedding, to highlight my grandmothers antique cake topper. Celestial Cakery was so kind and set up such a fun tasting! They were very accommodating and made the most adorable, beautiful cake in time for our wedding. Even though we wanted a small cake and we were low on time, they treated us with such respect and we felt very valued! We would recommend them to anyone.

Amazing cake at a reasonable price!

Ella and Curtis at Celestial Cakery did an amazing job with our wedding cake! During the tasting, we were amazed with how wonderful the cake and icings tasted, and were thrilled with our final selections. We gave Celestial a few pictures for them to combine for our cake and they did a great job of bringing our ideas to life. Our guests raved about the quality of the cake, and we loved it too! We feel like we made a great decision adding Celestial Cakery onto our wedding vendor team and would recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing cake at a reasonable price!

We LOVED our cake!

Our cake was beautiful AND tasted great! Ella and Curtis were so helpful from the get-go. We did a tasting and tried several cake and frosting flavors (so many options!) and Ella helped us figure out what we wanted our cake to look like and how big it needed to be for our guest count. The whole process was fun and stress-free, something that is not often said about wedding planning! I would highly recommend hiring them to make your wedding cake!

So delicious and so flexible!

We went for a tasting a few months ago and had so much trouble deciding on what flavor cake to serve at our wedding because everything was delicious. I sent them a picture of the design we desired for our cake after doing some research and they said they could make our vision come to life no problem! Definitely recommend going with Celestial Cakery for all your wedding needs!

Delicious!

We hired Ella to make a naked cake with 60 cupcakes for our wedding. Everything was gorgeous and delicious! There was no leftovers of the cake or cupcakes! The guests are still raving about how delicious everything was. I will hire Ella again and again for our baking needs.

Loved Our Wedding Cake

Celestial Cakery knocked it out of the park with our wedding cake! We loved going in for our tasting (got to try six different cake flavors and three frostings/fillings), and they were so accommodating with our requests to have different flavors on each tier of the cake, as well as additional sheet cakes to feed our large guest count. The design was exactly what we were looking for - simple and elegant. And the best part - the cake actually tasted GREAT! Thanks for everything, Ella and Curtis - we appreciate your kind service and fantastic baking skills!

Best Wedding Cake Ever!!

Ella and Curtis were amazing to work with! Curtis was always prompt in communication, which is hard to get from some vendors these days. We went in for a tasting and all of the flavors we tried were delicious. However, we decided to go with the lemon cake. It was not a punch you in the mouth lemon, but just light and subtle. Our cake was a 4 tier lemon cake with raspberry jam filling with a cream cheese frosting. Everyone at our wedding loved it, in fact, there wasn't much left! We cannot wait to try our One Year tier. Thank you Celestial Cakery for the best wedding cake I have ever had. You guys are amazing!!

Excellent vendor

Ella has been wonderful to work with! She has gone above and beyond as a vendor and has met with me multiple times to ensure that I am able to get the wedding cake and dessert table I have always wanted. Her cakes are absolutely delicious with any flavor you can think of. She is also very responsive to all forms of communication in a very timely manner. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.

Wow the cake was amazing

The cake was Beautiful! It was exactly what I wanted. And the flavors where perfect. I chose black tea cake with honey buttercream and apricot preserves in the layers. I could die it was so delicious. Ella was so professional and wonderful to work with. I recommend her for all your cake needs. She has so many flavor choices and designs. I'm sure she could make anything! We were so happy with our cake. And everyone was surprised that the flavors were so true and delicious. I wouldn't change a thing about it!

Best Wedding Cake Ever!

The Celestial Cakery did our cake as well as several mini desserts for our wedding. Not only was our wedding cake beautiful, it also tasted incredible. I could not have been more pleased with how it turned out! The mini desserts were a huge hit with our guests and were definitely worth the money! Scheduling our tasting was super easy and at our convenience. I loved that we could choose our own flavors to create a completely custom cake, which was not an option given to us at other bakeries in town. We ended up choosing a three tier wedding cake with the bottom tier being chai tea flavored cake with cinnamon & regular buttercream and the top two tiers being orange spice cake with cinnamon and regular buttercream. My only regret about our cake is that we didn't get a bigger piece when we cut it at our reception! It really was that good. Ella & Curtis made this whole process super easy and were nothing but responsive to all of our emails/calls. I cannot say enough good things about the Celestial Cakery and would certainly recommend them to anyone!

Ella and her team have been nothing but responsive and listened to all my concerns. She has been nothing but helpful finding the perfect combination for our special day. We decided to have Ella design our cake and cupcakes for our wedding in 2019. Both Ella and Curtis were very responsive to emails, helpful in the decision making process, and took our thoughts on a design and came up with something so beautiful. We can't wait to see the final design at our wedding. Not to mention the cake is some of the best I've ever had! There are so many flavor options to choose from that there is something for everyone. I would highly recommend Celestial Cakery to anyone!

Ella designed our cake for our wedding in November 2017. Ella and I have known each other for a few years, and I was so ecstatic to have her create our wedding cake. Ella conducted our consult with an incredibly high level of professionalism and grace, offering us samples of each of the cakes and icings we had chosen in her beautiful office and bakery space. The cakes, were of course, over-the-top delicious and we couldn’t wait to dig in on wedding day! Ella answered all of our questions about cake sizing, tiers, pricing and design and we easily came up with a gorgeous cake that fit our party size and budget. I showed Ella a few photos and let her run with the design. On wedding day, when I came down the stairs and saw the cake, I was dumbfounded. It was exactly what I had imagined and more- it was subtle, modern, beautiful, free of imperfections and of course, the most important part, DELICIOUS. We have already decided to commission Ella to make a smaller replica for us to fully enjoy on our anniversary. I would highly recommend Ella to any bride who wants a lovely cake for their big day.

Ella did an amazing job with responding to my emails, and was able to schedule a tasting within the week I reached out to her. Her establishment was professional and extremely clean, and in addition, it displayed some of her work which is phenomenal! She was then very patient in waiting for my fiance and I to make our final decision, and has continued to show professionalism and flexibility. I'm excited to see what our final product is going to look like, but I know it's going to be excellent work! Thank you in advance Ella!

Trying cake at their office was amazing! And the cupcakes we chose were delicious the day of! We were lucky enough to have some cupcakes left over, so we have them frozen in our freezer! Even those have been so delicious.

OMG Ella's cake was amazing. There were so many requests for her card but she did not leave any. The cake was moist and the icing was delicious. I will order a cake from her for every other event I have in my life from now on.

We are so happy we went with Ella's for our wedding cake! We ordered sheet cakes for our guests and we chose two different kinds, they were both delicious! We went with a one tier for us to cut into and it was gorgeous! Very satisfied :)

One of our concerns were we were going to have a pretty cake that didn't taste good or an ugly wedding cake that tasted great. Also, my husband is a Chef, so we wanted a cake that represented his Chef skills. Luckily, we found that with Ella. The cake taste AMAZING and it was beautiful. During the consultation Ella made my ideas come to life and gave great suggestions. Look no further, this is THE BAKER that needs to do your wedding cake!

Not only was Ella herself sweet and charming, but her cake was absolutely delicious! She created the most beautiful and best tasting wedding cake I've ever had (with funfetti, no less!). Her decorations were spot-on and perfectly tasteful. She was a perfect dream to work with!

I've started planning my wedding 19months ago. I first heard of Ella on Wedding Wire. I made 4 appointments total to sample cakes for my Engagement Party. After visiting Ella I canceled the other three! She was so professional and her cakes are Outstanding!!!! My fiancé is a major pastry snob! He was thrilled with our selections.

Engagement Party: 8-22-15
We hosted our Engagement party at Draught in Uptown Charlotte. I wanted a stripe cake with flowers on top. At the Venus, I left a few fresh flowers for Ella to use. Our order consisted of 40 cupcakes: (20) Strawberry With Lemon Buttercream and (20) Jasmine Raspberry with Cream cheese. We also had a 8inch Round Strawberry Cakes with Lemon Butter Cream. Everything was DELISH!!!

Bridal Shower: 6-25-16
I hosted my Bridal Shower with 12 of my close friends and family. My cake was gorgeous!!! I ordered a 2-tier cake. Top Tier: 4inch Amaretto with Honey Butter Cream. Bottom: 6inch Pear Ginger with Lemon Buttercream.

Wedding Cake: 8-27-16
Flavor Over Load!!! Prepare yourself! Our 3 Tier Cake contained the following flavors:
Top Tier: Jasmine Raspberry with Lavender Buttercream
Middle Tier: Pear Ginger with Lemon Buttercream
Bottom Tier: Amaretto with Honey Buttercream

If you are looking for a delicious cake at a great price, Ella's Celestial Cakes is it. Rather it's a traditional wedding cake or a gluten free wedding cake, Ella can provide what you need. Just give her a call, trust, you want regret it.

Ella made our cake tasting experience a fun one. Unfortunately my fiancé had a last minute work thing come up, so it was just my parents and I. Ella was so kind and gave us a box so I could take some of the the delicious cake samples back to my fiancé. She had pictures and samples to show us during the meeting, and made everything super simple and easy to understand. I definitely recommend visiting Ella's celestial cakes - the carrot cake was my favorite, but I loved them all.

My husband and I had out wedding on May 22, 2016 and we tried many vendors in the area, we were close to signing contract with another vendor, and decided that we would try Ella's cakes to see, but we fell in love with the taste of the cakes, and we decided to sign the contract the day of our tasting. I would recommend Ella's Celestial Cakes to anyone who is not only concerned with the outside of the cake, but also the taste of it! She did an amazing job, everyone loved the cake! It was beautiful and everything we asked for ! It was so beautiful!!

Got a recommendation from my venue for Ella's and absolutely loved my cake! Went in for my tasting and handed her a picture of exactly what i wanted my cake to look like and thats exactly what i got! An amazingly beautiful cake that tasted just as good as it looked! I chose the salted carmel as my biggest layer and got so many compliments on it!! Would definitely recommend her for you big day :)

Ella was amazing from the minute my husband and I met her. She was very professional and the way she does her cake tasting is the best! She makes cupcakes in the different cake flavors and then gives you the different icings for you to try it was awesome! Ella was always good about answering emails and if needed phone calls. She arrived the day of the wedding on time and I never even saw her but the cakes looked and tasted amazing. We ended up having so much cake left over that we were able to save the top of our wedding cake for our 1 year anniversary. In the future if I need special occasion cakes I will be going to Ella. Ella & Curtis were amazing to work with from the initial tasting at their home, many emails and the actual baked goods day of our wedding. We had a dessert bar with a three tier lace wedding cake. It was not only beautiful but delicious. The dessert bar was set beautifully and all of our guests loved sampling the many tasty treats. I highly recommend and cannot wait to use again!

Ella was wonderful! Her cakes were delicious and she was REALLY helpful/accommodating/patient with me as we picked out the items we wanted for our dessert bar. Our main cake was perfect and she has great stands/displays if you want to rent them.

I wish I could have tasted more of the cakes at our wedding itself, but even the leftovers were delicious. My favorite part was the fact that she has so many unique flavors and will make anything you want really.

Ella was truly a blessing to work with for my wedding in October! After visiting with a couple cake bakers in the Charlotte metro region and not being impressed by the taste of their cake or decorating abilities, I discovered Ella’s Celestial Cakes. Ella’s customer service was above reproach and she really stood out to me as someone who cared about her business and her potential clients! She was very easy to get in contact with and was prompt in setting up an appointment with me. She showed me pictures of previous cakes she had decorated that were similar to the style I was looking for, so I felt very comfortable with what she could produce. Almost three months before my wedding I left silk flowers with her to wash and safely attach as decorations for my cake and she kept them and they were beautifully arranged on my wedding cake. I loved that she had unique and truly flavorful options that not every run of the mill cake baker has; we chose the red velvet cake with butter cream icing and carrot cake with honey butter cream icing and it was wonderful! I would recommend Ella for anyone searching for a cake baker who really cares about her clients and gives them what they ask for, and that includes the taste and look of her delicious cakes. She was so sweet and I enjoyed working with her! Thank you, Ella for doing such an amazing job with my wedding cake!

Planning my own wedding with the help of my mom (love her), it was at times difficult to agree on things wedding-related. To me, cake was cake, but to her it was a top priority. Needless to say, I thought she was being overly picky. Thank goodness we found Ella, her cake was the best! She offers such an eclectic range of flavors, from Honey to Lemon to Chocolate Cayenne (all these I tried and wanted all of them to be my cake) and everything in between. There was nothing artificial tasting about them either.

Last, but not least, I have full confidence in Ella's craft. Sometimes wedding cakes look rather gaudy to me, and sometimes I like that, but I think Ella understands different styles and am excited to see her take on my modern romantic New Years Eve wedding cake.

After several attempts at trying to find someone to make our wedding cake we were lucky to run into Ella's Celestial Cakes. Several places did not return our calls or wanted to overcharge for various cake-related things. Ella's was different. Ella's was reasonably priced AND the cake was delicious. My fiancé, my parents, and I went to a cake testing with Ella and all four of us were blown away. I have a gluten allergy, so it is rare to find great tasting desserts. Many bakeries do not offer gluten free, let alone "fun gluten free flavors"; however, Ella's Celestial Cakes not only offered an extensive GF list but everything tasted incredible. Ella and her husband were absolutely amazing from the first meeting!!!

They listened to our (untraditional) need for a Broadway-themed wedding cake. They stayed in touch through the entire process from the day it was ordered until the day it was delivered. It was on time, looked AMAZING and tasted even better.

Everyone at our wedding raved over how amazing it was. Unfortunately, we didn't have any leftovers to take home to really dig into it ourselves -- some guests requested seconds and thirds.

A great company and a great couple --- absolutely fabulous.

As mother-of-the-bride, I researched cakes online and came across "Ella's Celestial Cakes." Ella's delightful website and all 5-star reviews convinced me we found "it." After the tasting of cupcakes at her sweet home, my daughter, her fiance and I were "sold." We adored the red velvet with cream cheese frosting, coconut with coconut buttercream, and honey vanilla bean with basic buttercream. As my future son-in-law commented, Ella's buttercream is not too sweet but just right. We uploaded an idea from Pinterest to Ella's email and were pleasantly surprised to find she had already decorated a similar cake and knew EXACTLY what we had in mind!! Ella has an extensive collection of cake stands to rent and will deliver and set up out-of-town for a small fee. I have truly enjoyed working with Ella these past couple weeks. I had a mini fiasco with my previous baker for my wedding cake, and with barely three weeks before the wedding date, Ella agreed to bake the cake for us and keep within our budget. I am not at all the kind of bride who enjoys wedding planning, and being out-of-state two time zones over has only further tested my patience when coordinating with vendors. I truly appreciate how straight-forward and no-fuss she is, and I got so much done with her in such a short period of time. Her work ethic and customer service alone make me want to recommend her to anybody planning a wedding, because that is such a huge part of the stress of planning (for me, anyway). She has been very professional, responsive (a huge plus), flexible, and transparent throughout the entire process. And of course, the cake! Even as a home-based business, it was super clean and organized when we went for the tasting when we came into town. You can tell she takes pride in what she does. My fiance and I tried six cake flavors and three buttercream flavors, all of which were incredible (frosting is always the best part for me, and hers is top. notch. We considered a naked cake to keep us under budget, but the buttercream is worth every penny). There are both classic and unique flavors to choose from in cake and frosting, so there really is something for everyone and in every season. We ended up picking two cake flavors to serve to our guests (salted caramel and honey vanilla bean), and I can't wait for everyone to taste them! Between the ease of working with Ella, the quality she delivers, and the reasonable pricing - even with delivery and renting the cake stand - I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a special occasion cake!

Ella created the most beautiful and delicious wedding cake for us! I didn't want you "ordinary" cake flavor and Ella already had ideas up her sleeve. We met with Ella once before deciding to hire her to make our wedding cake and cupcakes. She has an in-home bakery, so we had the pleasure of meeting her husband and baby, as well. We used them for my daughters wedding and highly recommend them. Ella was so sweet to work with and did an outstanding job on my daughter's cake. She had not done one like that before and it turned out exactly like the picture. She did several vintage cupcakes for us also and they were almost too pretty to eat. Besides making the cake look exactly like my daughter wanted, the cake was delicious and very moist. She was so easy to work with and always answered all our questions. She even let us taste some different cupcake choices since we did our first tasting so early before the wedding. It was very hard to make a choice because all of them taste great. Her husband was also so helpful and nice. They make a GREAT team!! I hope to get to use them again when we have another special event. Highly recommend them!!

We met with Ella and her husband for our cake tasting in June. Their home based kitchen was very professional and clean. They provided us with many options for our dessert bar, sample pictures of prior designs, and very affordable pricing options during our session. They were knowledgable of our venue and their rules, and flexible to meet them. The cake is delicious and we can't wait to share all the yummy desserts with our guests!

Ella did an amazing job on my wedding cake! Her flavors are delicious and the ingredients she uses are the best. She makes everything in house and never freezes her cakes which was a big thing for me. I didn't want my wedding cake to have been baked a month prior and frozen. I kept changing my design on her and it didn't seem to bother her. I told her I know I was a pain for continually changing it. I was so indecisive I don't think I know what I actually wanted. I finally decided on a design and it came our beautiful. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding cake. It was delicious, we had numerous people tell us that was the best wedding cake they have had! I would highly recommend her if your in the market for a delicious wedding cake!

Ella makes amazing cakes!! All the flavors were so delicious, it was hard to choose so we went with 4 different flavors for our cake! She is truly a wonderful person to work with, and has had almost immediate response to any questions we have had along the way to our big day!

Tasty and Pretty

We would recommend Celestial Cakery for your wedding or event! Curtis and Ella were accommodating throughout our ordering process. The tasting was easy and delicious. Ella has a wonderful variety of designs based on past cakes or was willing to create a new design. They made special note of allergies. And they updated our order after our final guest count came in lower than we expected. And the most important part: the cake was so tasty!
We had a friend who recommend Publix for a cheap but tasty cake. It's probably a good option for a basic white wedding cake, but Celestial offered such a great variety of cake and frosting flavors and of course the design if you want something truly special!
We thought the value for the cake was actually really good - the cost for something with great design and the specific flavor combinations we wanted was definitely worthwhile and not overpriced.
