  Amazing!!!

  Our entire experience with Catering by Dale, from start to finish, was personal, professional and wonderful. They are a team of experienced wedding professionals who go above and beyond just a food and beverage service. In addition to their delicious food and seamless service, Susan also provided wedding coordination services for us leading up to and day-of our wedding. I was so confident with everything that they had planned that I was actually able to show up and enjoy the party as a guest and not be worried about the details. Not only is the team organized and professional but the food is incredible and beautifully plated, matching the quality of a five-star restaurant experience. We had so many of our guests comment on how amazing the food was, as well as the cocktails. I would absolutely recommend Catering by Dale for their great value, professional service and delicious food.

  We recently worked with Catering by Dale for our June 3 wedding. We had an incredible experience with them - working both with Dale developing the menu and Mary, the event coordinator. We were in communication with them throughout the year in the planning process, and both were respectful and prompt. The food was delicious & reflected our vision exactly. Mary did an amazing job making the day feel like a breeze - our wedding was all that we dreamt of and that day there was not an ounce of stress or uncertainty about what might happen, she took care of it all!

  My daughter had a destination autumn wedding in Vt.
  Dale was great to work with. Most of our correspondences were through email and she was very prompt answering any questions/concerns we had.
  The food was amazing! Many compliments from our guests.
  The staff was professional and efficient during the reception.
  Can't say enough about Wendy, the wedding
  co-ordinator , she was most helpful, kind and sweet!

My sister told me it was the best food she's ever had at a wedding. I couldn't eat enough - everything was delicious! We made a special request to include Asian cuisine in our menu, and we had serving stations with a variety of foods (one of the stations was all Asian foods), and we also made special requests for a large amount of vegetarian options. They accommodated all requests, were very organized the day of the wedding, and it was presented beautifully. We had a build-your-own cupcake station with different types of cake and icing (all delicious). They made our wedding cake, too, and I have never eaten a more delicious cake in my life! I cannot say enough good things about Catering By Dale!

  From the very beginning Dale and her team were amazing, responsive, and not stressful to work with. We were having a summer wedding at a private home and we wanted it to feel fun, not stuffy, but still special and elegant. We had roughly 200 guests. We were living in Boston at the time and were planning the wedding remotely. Dale spent lots of time on the phone/email helping to craft our perfect menu. She was really helpful and giving advise on what was going to be in season at the time. She totally understood the feel we were going for.
  
  This was a large wedding at a private home, so lots of logistics to be worked out! Dale and Cher were fantastic with the pre-wedding planning of everything. They were able to work magic behind the scenes and made sure to not stress me out with any issues that may have been happening.
  
  Day of the wedding was incredible. Dale and her team are SO professional. I knew the food was going to be amazing and wasn't worried about that, but I could have never imagined how phenomenal the staff was going to be. They were attentive but seemed to totally disappear in the background. I want to highlight Cher specifically - she not only executed all of the timing for food, etc. but she truly was my day of wedding planner. She even helped with the timing of the ceremony walk downs! She was the liaison with all of my vendors. If I could, I would hire her to be the day of planner for any event I was hosting.
  
  Finally - the food! Now I know that I'm biased since it was my wedding, but hands down best wedding meal I've ever had and our guests agreed. It was delicious and beautifully presented but also, fun and not uptight. We loved the food so much that my husband had Dale cater my 30th birthday so we could eat all of our yummy apps from the wedding again!
  
  If you work with Catering by Dale, you will not only have incredible food but you'll have a staff that executes your wedding to perfection!

  Catering by Dale catered our private event on 12/14 at the Shelburne Museum. I have had experience with CBD in a previous career and knew that I could expect fabulous results with them. The event was for 150 guests and we served heavy passed and stationary appetizers and cocktails. Guests were coming up to us during the entire event complimenting the food. Catering by Dale was responsive before, during and after the event. The staff is extremely professional and attentive! The food is scrumptious! The experience was exceptional! I highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for creative food, good communication and a smooth running event. Thank you Catering by Dale!

  We are still receiving incredible compliments on Dale's wonderful food. They made us a delicious selection of warm rustic Italian dishes that complimented our winter wedding perfectly. They were easy to work with and had wonderful ideas for menus and changes. Dale's staff were also amazing. Professional and quick to problem solve, they worked so well with the space and all of the rented and homemade elements I brought in. I have no idea if they had any glitches, they made everything seem smooth, from the buffet line to the table arranging and changing. Many thanks!

  We had a good overall experience with CBD -- most importantly the food is and cocktails were DELICIOUS and the servers were amazing, so the day of experience was wonderful. We had a very long engagement (4 years) and over time some things got lost in translation such as linen/dish rentals, and response turnaround overall could have been a bit quicker for me. That being said, Covid really did a number on the wedding industry and overall I am very happy with our experience and would book again!

  Dale and her team were great! The food was absolutely fantastic and the service she provided was great. Cher, the event coordinator, was so responsive and accommodating. She really put me at ease that everything would be done the way I wanted. Dale and her team accommodated all of our requests without question.

  Dale does an exceptional catering job, I can't recommend her highly enough. My husband and I experienced extreme flexibility and accommodation, and were thrilled with the service we received. Dale's food was the best wedding food I've ever had, and while most brides and grooms don't get a chance to eat at their weddings, we had a tough time leaving our plates behind! Two thumbs up!!

They took care of everything in terms of setting everything up, and when we arrived it was just as we had wanted.   The food was absolutely amazing! Delicious, colorful, with beautiful plate presentation. We loved that local ingredients were used and that signage was provided. Slightly pricey, but if food is a high priority on your list, you won't be disappointed.

  The food was excellent. Dale is a very nice woman and I would recommend her BUT don't ask her to manage the bar. That got a little messed up and our guests ended up stocking all night and finally had to serve themselves.

In response to your last comment, we have our own in-house "extremely talented" wedding coordinators so perhaps communication was diluted, as can happen, when there are too many people! As the saying goes, "too many cooks in the kitchen." We do our best to work with everyone but direct conversation is always best!

  I will start off by saying that the food provided by Catering by Dale was spectacular. Everything was delicious and even my pickiest friends and family stuffed themselves. My sister couldn't stop raving about the vegetarian vegetable stacks with polenta and my friends are still talking about the pumpkin curry soup served at cocktail hour. The staff was so friendly and invited everyone up for seconds. The day-of experience really was great.
  That being said, it was nearly impossible to get in touch with CBD before the wedding. I was planning the wedding from a distance and it often took Dale over a week to respond to my emails. There was no contract to sign, the menu was printed in all caps, and the client questionnaire was a confusing mess. I didn't find this to be very professional and it was extremely frustrating. It's a shame, because this company could really be top-notch if they got their paperwork together.

  The food is amazing. Communicating long distance with CBD is terrible. There seems to be a lack of communication between the staff, and via email or phone they are not very helpful. In person during the tasting Dale was helpful with recommendations for food, but in advance of that it was hard to get much advice - which is helpful if you are planning a wedding for the first time. Don't mention the word local food they increase the price, but essentially by local anyway. The day of they provide someone to oversee the schedule, but they don't do anything outside of that, like coordinate other vendors, so don't assume - step up to the role yourself or assign it to someone else.

  The worst choice possible

  CBD events/Catering By Dale is a nightmare for brides & grooms who should be focusing on having fun on their own wedding day! It’s really unfortunate, because I can see that when Dale was there, they had a different, positive reputation. However, Susan is scattered, unresponsive, and combative when you approach her with any issues.

  Made me cancel my wedding reception

  Do not use this company! They canceled on me 10 days before my wedding reception forcing me to cancel everything! Unless you want to do the same find someone else! They were completely unresponsive, taking weeks to respond and only responding when I emailed AND called MULTIPLE times. Instead of trying to work with us they waited until the last second and canceled when it was way too late to find someone else to cater. With the excuse that we were too 'new' of a client for them to work with even though we had signed our contract 5 months prior.

  We were terribly sorry that we needed to cancel. We needed to do so given the menu was not set, rentals were not done and there were too many questions still unanswered. It was evident several weeks prior to your date that you were still trying to figure out which rental company to go with after we had set this up with our normal rental company........this was the final issue we were having.
  As a team of professionals, we need to make sure all "ducks" are in a row far in advance in order to insure a seamless event. We take our clients seriously and only want the best for each. This seemed too far out of control for us to bring it back in line with our standards.
  We also noted the attitude as displayed in this review and did not wish to continue.

  Horribly Disappointing

  Beyond Horrible! So extremely disappointing. Unprofessional, unresponsive, disorganized and the meals and service were not worth the money at all!!!! Staff was very slow, confused and with no direction. Prices for meals were increased weeks before event and meals were luke warm or cold! Don’t waste your hard earned money and experience the embarrassment for your guests in a lifetime event like this.

  Dear Liz, We enjoyed the planning up until the day of the wedding and were dealing with the same issue this entire industry is having to deal with, that of a shortage in staff. It would have been great to have more staff on with this wedding given the territory our team had to cover to bring out the food from the cook tent from afar. With several employees having to get tested last minute for covid, we had to exchange our normal team out for 3 others who could fill in for those who had not yet received their tests back. This has been such an unfortunate and common issue in our industry. Our team really tried to give their best and we are sorry to see such a poor review given all of the rest of the positive reviews we have received. I would have rather had a phone call to discuss this professionally. We will certainly have a discussion about this wedding but our team thought it went well and heard wonderful reviews from some of y our guests. You had hired wedding coordinators so we are not really sure how this could have been as you stated, given they were onsite to provide their expertise. As far as pricing, everyone knows that food costs have soared. We have hired a consultant to assist us during these tough times to insure we are keeping above water and did have to pass on the extra costs to our clients. With weddings, like this one, that booked over a year ago, food costs are not the same as they were at the signing of the contract. Our apologies for that.
