Best Wedding Decision We Made!
Working with Katie and her husband, Jay, was absolutely the BEST WEDDING DECISION WE MADE! Katie made all the photos, from the engagement session to the wedding day, so fun and so US. They both have such a gift for beautifully capturing the moments that really feel like you.
We were in AWE of the results they delivered - whatever you’re picturing, they will deliver that times a million. My professional photographer friends were so impressed by their skills and final result. We had a massive thunderstorm on our wedding day, and Katie pulled me aside and offered to do another session if we didn’t get the photos I wanted that day because of the rain. It’s clear that she prioritizes your happiness and experience!
I’m so glad we invested in great photos, since that’s all we have to remember the day by! Seriously, save yourself some time and hire her. You won’t regret it. -

We LOVED Katie and Jay! Months before our wedding, they took the time to get to know us and our personalities through fun questionnaires and had us list every single photo we wanted to capture. They then sent a very detailed wedding day photo timeline that truly makes you instantly trust you're in good hands. They showed up day of quiet and calm yet professional and confident. They captured everything we could've wanted and more. They were able to corral our rowdy wedding party and large family without being pushy and kept the energy light hearted. As the bride, I also felt so much pressure to be a model of perfection and was nervous to be the center of attention all day. Our photos made me feel beautiful and I didn't have to worry about posing or knowing my good side, Katie and Jay did all of that for me. Beyond that, they worked so quickly and sent us sneak peeks within a couple days! It was the perfect way to kickstart our honeymoon :) Highly recommend! -

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Catherine Anne Photography!!! Catie and Jay were fabulous and our pictures are absolutely stunning. We knew we wanted a seasoned Charleston wedding photography team who understood our venue and knew all of the perfect spots and they certainly delivered on that!!! They were willing and happy to travel to CT for our engagement session and made the experience relaxing and fun for us! They were able to capture the candid moments, the sweet moments, and the posed moments all with such beauty and we are so incredibly thankful to have worked with them! If you want the most magical experience for your engagement and wedding photos, you have to book Catherine Anne! -

We are so thankful and happy that we booked Catherine Ann for our wedding photography. My husband and I both hate getting our photos taking and were fearful of having to pose for hundreds of photos that don't feel like us. After our engagement shoot and within seconds of meeting Katie and Jay that was completely forgotten. We were no longer dreading our wedding and taking hundreds of photos. We were actually excited! Not only are the photos incredibly beautiful but they feel like us and that is exactly what we wanted! I highly recommend using them if you are looking for not only beautiful photos but photos that you feel like yourself in and want to be super comfortable during the entire process.
We had to get 3 photo album made because we couldn't decide between all the photos since they were all just beautiful but also the dancing photos of our friends and family made our album even better! -

We absolutely LOVED working with Katie and Jay. I truly don’t think I could have asked for a better photographer. Katie and her husband are the ultimate duo! When I originally looked at photographers, I wanted the top of the line photographer, and I was NOT going to budge on this decision. If I was going to try to save money, it was going to be in other areas of the wedding! I am SO beyond happy I choose this incredible team to capture all of the magical moments on our wedding day! Aaron and I felt so comfortable working with them. Our bridal party’s also had a blast, and they kept everyone laughing all of the time, especially with Katie’s special catch phrases to keep you smiling..;) I’ll let you figure out what the the special catch phrases are during your wedding. I am so excited that received our entire wedding gallery within 3 weeks after the wedding!! I couldn’t recommend them enough! They were worth every little penny spent. Thank you both! We are so happy we hired Catherine Anne Photography! What an amazing experience they gave us.
Katie is absolutely amazing!! When I began searching for wedding photographers I started on Instagram. Catherine Ann’s aesthetic caught me right away. It was so fun and happy and vibrant. It was exactly what I wanted my wedding photos to be. Katie is a direct reflection of that aesthetic. My fiance and I purchased one of her packages that included an engagement session. My fiance and I had never really done professional photos before and we are not “picture takers”. We are even pretty bad at Instagram. Katie made us feel so comfortable and eased us into it. It even started to rain during the shoot and Katie made it work! Our pictures were unbelievably beautiful. On the day of our wedding, Katie and Jay were rockstars. Taking pictures with them was so easy and so fun. We opted to do a first look and have all the posed photos done prior to the ceremony. So worth it!! Katie and Jay worked quickly, kept us on schedule, and even corralled our crazy families. Even my fiance, who despises taking pictures, afterward said, “Hey, that wasn’t so bad!!”. My fiance and I didn’t even realize Katie and Jay were taking photos during the cocktail hour and the reception. They’re awesome people, so we wouldn’t have minded if they were seen or heard, but they were neither seen nor heard (Lol!)!! Katie sent me sneak peek photos the day after the wedding and, oh my gosh. They are stunning. I am dying to get the full set back. On top of all of this, our wedding party, our family, and even our guests have told us how great the photographers were. I have never really heard of that happening before. Overall we had an amazing experience with Catherine Ann Photography and would recommend them to anyone. Thank you, Katie and Jay, for everything. -

Fun and colorful
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Katie and Jay!! Their photography is colorful and candid and that’s EXACTLY what we were looking for in our wedding photos. They were there to answer any and all questions before the big day and made us feel so comfortable and confident our entire wedding day. We got so many compliments from our bridal party and guests about how easy they made the photos and how beautiful they looked - even if you’re not usually comfortable in front of the camera!! All I had to do was make a list of photos (with family/ guests) that I wanted and Katie made sure to snap a shot. She controlled our timeline so beautifully and we got so many amazing photos! They truly made our wedding day amazing and we have fantastic memories for years to come!!! -

For our day, a photographer was our top top priority of not the number one priority. After stalking multiple people on Instagram and personal sites, I kept going back to Katie’s work. It just had such a candid, yet magical and romantic vibe. After one conversation we were set to work with Katie and Jay, and it was the best decision we could of made.
I can not say enough about Katie. As a human, she’s one of the best ones out there. She went out of her way to let us know she was there for us to answer any and all questions. Having a destination wedding, it can be hard to feel like everything is going smoothly. Planning with Katie, we felt completely calm and had zero worries. Thank you Katie for your check ins, it made a huge difference in our planning process.
Does this woman have a plan! Down to the minute Katie set up a timeline to ensure every moment would be captured. Her attention to detail was incredibly impressive, and she really directed us the best way possible. The day of was a breeze, and working with her we felt like we knew her and jay our whole lives. There was even a point where I started to feel faint because alas, I was not hydrating. Katie, our magical fairy godmother whipped out a meat and cheese stick from that Mary Poppin apron of hers and legit brought me back to life.
We felt so confident with Katie and Jay that we really got to enjoy the day, and be 100% in the moment. Because of that, and the expertise Katie had of our venue at Middleton Place, our pictures are absolutely stunning and wonderful. Our photos are a dream come true.
If you are looking for a fun, creative, professional and detail oriented photographer to capture your day, Katie & Jay are the way to go. -

When our wedding planner asked us which wedding vendor we thought would be the most important to us on our wedding day, I answered “photography!” straight away! People say that your wedding day is a whirlwind, and it’s so true! After all of the cake has been eaten and the sparklers have burnt out, your wedding photos are left to remind you of all the love, joy, and excitement you and your spouse shared with your family and friends!
Needless to say, I browsed a lot of photography portfolios, and I instantly fell in love with Catherine Ann Photography! Katie’s photos are timeless and beautiful! Charleston is like a fairytale, and I wanted to find a photographer who could capture both the natural beauty of our venue and the joy we felt on our wedding day. To say Katie and Jay delivered would be an understatement! When we received our wedding album, we were overjoyed! They captured every moment and detail I could have ever wanted in the most beautiful way. Being able to look back, relive all of those wonderful moments, and even see all the beautiful details I was too overwhelmed to notice is absolutely invaluable to me!
Also, I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that I’ve always felt a bit awkward and uncomfortable in front of the camera, but Katie and Jay made the whole process so easy! We met for the first time at our engagement session, and with Katie’s guidance, my nerves quickly melted away! They are both so sweet and made us feel so comfortable! Katie really took the time before our wedding to get to know us so that by the time our wedding day came, I felt like we were posing in front of friends!
I absolutely could not be more grateful for Katie and Jay!! The photos they took for us are truly a priceless gift that will last a lifetime! I am so thankful that we chose Catherine Ann Photography to play this important role on our big day, and I would absolutely recommend them to everyone I know!!! -

Katie and Jay we're so amazing! Not only did that get every single detail documented, but each photo looks better than the next! They we're also incredibly easy to work, gave good direction, and got the photos finished quickly giving us loads of time with friends and family! Katie (Catherine) and Jay were both amazing and super helpful throughout the process. Very, very easy to work with. We especially liked that they made the whole photos process fun, so it never felt like some strained or artificial "posing" exercise. For our engagement shoot, we literally just went to Disney together and hung out all day at the park with occasional quick photo moments. Those and the wedding photos all came out really well. We'd highly recommend working with them, even if you aren't local to Charleston (we had a dc-based wedding that they came to town for). -

She makes taking pictures so easy and fun! It rained our entire wedding day yet Katie was still able to capture our day beautifully. I can’t recommend her enough. Her husband is also a wonderful addition to her talent!!! We felt so blessed to have them photograph our wedding day! We will forever cherish our photos.

There are so many wedding photographers in Charleston and your choices are endless, but Katie and Jay are top-notch. We received our wedding photos in a quick turnaround (in both film and digital) and could not be happier with how they turned out. They truly listen to what's important to you on your wedding day and the outcome truly exceeded our expectations. We got married in Disney World and photography was incredibly important to us. There was certain feel I wanted in our photos that was missing from Disney’s photography. I stumbled across Katie’s work by accident and IMMEDIATELY fell in love with her style. I hadn't done ANY research and wasn't sure what I was looking for but as soon as I started exploring Katie's page I knew I had to book her. I emailed her that day and she responded within a few hours just as excited to be a part of our wedding as we were to hire her! Katie and I exchanged several emails over the months leading to our wedding, some business related and some just for fun. She was always quick to respond and answer any questions we had. It’s clear she cares about each of her customers and takes the time to make sure the service her and Jay provide is personalized to that couple. It was so much fun working with them and felt like we were best friends by the time we finally met. True to their site, Katie and Jay took the time to help us pose and look good during family photos and portraits then faded into the background to capture all the natural joy and magic of our day. I had so many friends and family comment on how professional and unobtrusive they were and even more compliments on their actual work once Katie shared a few sneak peek shots. Looking through our photos I am blown away by the quality. Every picture tells a story and glows with romance and whimsy. Katie worked with us to customize a payment plan allowing us to have our dream photographer and not break the bank. It's a small thing and required a little trust on her part, but we’re so grateful for her understanding and willingness to accommodate us. It was a pleasure and joy to work with Katie and Jay. I'm already trying to figure out plans for a 1 year anniversary shoot! -

She was gracious enough to squeeze in a last minute engagement session with us just before Christmas in Charleston, SC! We recently moved to the area and wanted to get our engagement photos in during a very short time window due to my fiancé being in the military and having a limited schedule. Katie was on board without even meeting us first and we ended up having a blast! She is kind hearted, funny, and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera, which was difficult for me at first! Her photos are bright, beautiful, and captured us so well! Packages are affordable and completely worth the investment! Catherine Ann Photography is a must, especially if you are interested in outdoor and historic venues!!! Love love love!! -
