Chef Tara was amazing!

Chef Tara was so amazing and special to work with. Words cannot describe how wonderful her and her team was the day of our wedding. She made sure that I had everything I wanted, she always stayed in touch and explained everything in detail! If you are lucky enough to have her you will not be disappointed. :)

Amazing all around

1st off, I just have to say that Chef Tara is an absolutely amazing person!! Hiring her was one of the best decisions I made during this entire process. She has the best personality & energy. Her food is just as incredible as she is. Everything was sooooo good, everyone loved it! Her Prices are great with great portion sizes. She made everything so easy & you can tell she really loves wat she does. We can't tank you her enough!!

Big Bang and Great Service!

We worked with Catering by Tara for a special graduation event and it was a pleasure from start to finish. Chef Tara and her team were responsive, professional, accessible and prompt. Chef Tara and her Assistant were available for questions and were more than happy to help make changes and solidify our needs. On the day of the event, they were on time and the food and set up was exactly as requested and exceptionally well prepared! It tasted great and our guest were all very happy. We would recommend Catering by Tara time and time again!

Chef Tara and her team were so wonderful to work with!! She is the sweetest person and so personable! She responds quickly throughout the entire wedding planning process! The food was delicious! Of all the choices we made for our wedding, hiring Chef Tara was the best decision we could’ve made. She is not only an incredibly talented chef, but a wonderful person to be around. The menu we created with her was amazing, but more than that was the service she provides. You will not find a better person to work with than Chef Tara. When I tell you this woman rescued my veil, rescued my cake, and was there at every single moment I needed her…she is above and beyond. Her team is above and beyond. We felt so special and so well cared for through this entire process. I cannot imagine anyone better.

Catering by Tara catered my wedding and everyone loved the food. We were married in April and I still have people telling me how much they loved it. Nothing but great things to say about Chef Tara. Not only did we receive endless compliments on the food at our wedding, but Chef Tara personally checked in with my husband and I throughout the night to make sure we’d eaten our full and had everything we needed. But perhaps my favorite moment was seeing Chef Tara and her team interacting with guests and having fun on the dance floor once dinner was done!

Fantastic! Our guests are still talking about the food

We had a wonderful experience with Chef Tara all the way from the initial conversation about what we wanted for our menu she was kind and incredibly helpful in giving us her advice and creating a menu that reflected both me and my husband’s tastes and cultures. It’s been a month since our wedding and our wedding guests are still gushing about the appetizers and dinner. Her staff was very professional and attentive- going so far as to walk out and bring fresh appetizers to our wedding party while we were taking pictures during the happy hour time (a bit of a walk from the venue). Chef Tara was very attentive and made sure we had fresh plate of food waiting for us at all times, and made special meal for a family member with severe food allergies. We can’t recommend her enough.

Home cooking at its best

Chef Tara and her amazing team gave our wedding such an amazing touch. Being native Puerto Rican’s from NY, it was important that we worked with someone who had the same expectations as we do. Her food is AMAZING. Speaking with her is like speaking to one of our “Tia’s”. She is very down to earth and breaks everything down to you simply and doesn’t try to oversell. She is professional, funny and very passionate. Her food is full of flavor and our guests STILL talk about the food! She exceeded our expectations. The food was very important to us. We definitely had the best in town. You cannot do wrong having her cater your wedding. We were definitely blessed and look forward to visiting the restaurant again.

Absolutely fantastic!! Tara’s personality was bubbly and helpful - many guests commented on how much they enjoyed her. She even stood in as photographer so we didn’t leave anyone out of the picture :-) I plan to use her again in November!

Our favorite vendor!

Chef Tara is by far the best vendor we hired for our wedding!! My husband and I had such a hard time finding a caterer to create a custom authentic Italian menu for us, and Chef Tara did it! We were beyond pleased with the price, quality of the food and the service. Chef Tara really worked with us to ensure we were 100% thrilled with our menu. It did require a few tastings to lock down a meat option, and so thankful for all her support and dedication to making sure we were thrilled with our final selections. And i'll say it again, the food was AMAZING. We got approval from our Italian relatives, which is hard to do! All our guests loved the food and keep talking about it to this day. Thank you Chef Tara for everything!!

Chef Tara and her team are hands down the best in the industry! Not only is her pricing reasonable, service was wonderful, and food was even better! She was accommodating, compassionate, and understanding during the pandemic. Chef tara is amazing!

Chef Tara and her team were amazing from start to finish! They stuck with us when we changed our date, not once, twice, but three times! She customized our menu exactly to our liking and was willing to make any small changes until we were happy with it! When we went for our initial tasting, Tara was super accommodating and made sure there was more than enough food to handle my crew (mom, dad, sister, niece and nephew). The food just kept coming and it was all so delicious! That made our decision to hire Tara super easy! She even made sure there was enough food to take home for my husband, since he could not be there. The week of the wedding Tara called to check-in and let me say her energy was through the roof! It made me so excited just to hear from her. She said I could call her any time day or night with any questions or concerns. The day of the wedding everyone was so kind and made sure my husband and I were taken care of! They brought all of our food, including appetizers directly to our table. I didn’t even get to see the buffet, but I didn’t need to! The entire staff was on it! And that’s not just with food, they kept the drinks coming too! They packaged up all the leftovers that we were able to enjoy with our family again the next day! I would definitely recommend Chef Tara and her team for anyone who wants good food, hard-working and kind-hearted people and not to mention budget friendly!

Exceptional Service and Professional!

Chef Tara and team are absolutely amazing! I knew from previous reviews and looking at her website that I wanted to meet her, and I am so glad I did! She catered our minimony last month and will again when we celebrate with our second wedding with all our families and friends next year. It was really important to us to find someone who understood the need to bring the cultures of Vietnamese food and Southern food together. Chef Tara not only takes the time to understand you, but she asks questions and "hears" what your needs are. She doesn't pressure you but makes you feel comfortable. She makes sure you are taken care of, and treats you and your guests like you're a part of her family, and that's really how it feels like. Our family couldn't stop talking about her food for days! She even took care of our pup! We love Chef Tara and would highly recommend her. She's become family to us and we plan on hiring Chef Tara for all future events!

Food tasted great and exactly what we asked for. Tara made sure my husband and I were the first ones fed - a biggie for me! She also made sure to ask if we had any specific guests with dietary needs, an attention to detail that was pleasantly surprising. First off.... we LOVE Tara! I wanted a taco bar for my wedding. To say Tara delivered would be an understatement! People are STILL talking about our wedding food! It was amazing! Chef Tara was amazing to work with! She definitely took care of everything for us on the day of our wedding and we didn't have to worry about a thing! Prior to the wedding she worked with us to develop a menu. She took her time and answered all of our questions and had a lot of great ideas as well because we didn't really know what we wanted to have at first. All of the food was amazing and all of our guests love the food. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Tara when she catered our St. Patricks' day event 2 years ago and let me be the first to tell you she is nothing short of AMAZING!!!! Chef Tara always brings the best food, brightest personality and she's lots of fun! She makes a point not only to serve but to also interact with the staff and residents. I would HIGHLY recommend her to coworkers, friends and family for future events. If you get the chance to check out her restaurant I would recommend that as well :)

After meeting with Chef Tara and tasting the food, we were sold. She and her team made the process so easy, fun, and delicious! Chef Tara and her crew are amazing! My family has used her for several wedding rehearsal dinners/receptions and each time they do an excellent job. Amazing Service!!!

Chef Tara and her team were amazing and she brings so much energy to the space. She made sure we ate, she made sure my wife received a meal without the sauce because she does not like tomatoes and she took wonderful pictures of our day!! She was amazing to work with extremely flexible with us throughout the planning process. They cute and passed out the cake, passed out food during cocktail hour I mean they went above and beyond!!! December Wedding Reception

Tara and her staff did a wonderful job for my daughter's wedding last weekend. She is very responsive to emails, is very personable and gives honest feedback. Her food was delicious and plentiful. She has a wide range of menus and items for any taste. People raved about her chai and hot chocolate, bread, ham, turkey and herbed mayonnaise as well as her cheesecakes. We are so glad that our daughter chose cheesecake over wedding cake. The cheesecake was absolutely spectacular! I would definitely recommend Chef Tara!

Working with Chef Tara and her crew was a great experience. She was flexible, accommodating, pleasant and professional. For what can be a stressful process, she made everything easy. Her pricing is reasonable and competitive and the food was delicious. She even graciously accommodated our need for gluten free options. I happily recommend her and would use her services again in a heartbeat.

Absolutely incredible!

Top quality service and food! Tara stood out from the other caterers because of her clear dedication, passion, and thoughtfulness. We didn't even do a tasting and everything came just how we wanted it-- AMAZING! Amazing mashed potato bar, amazing carving, amazing charcuterie and bread bar, amazing salad, and AMAZING CHEESECAKE! Plus the hot cocoa bar they added as a touch of Christmas! I would recommend Tara for any special occasion!

Tara and her staff were fantastic!

From the day we met to discuss our rehearsal dinner, until the day of the event, she was great. She helped us out every step of the way. We had a tasting to decide our final menu, and the food was amazing! She was easy to work with and her staff was very courteous. All of our guests commented on how delicious everything was and she even accommodated a few with allergies! I would definitely hire her again, she can handle anything! And she has a terrific personality!

Still dreaming of my wedding food!

There is no other catering team and Chef like Catering by Tara!

The SERVICE of the staff and the genuine care and pride they show in their craft is unmatched. The staff went above and beyond to cater to my guest and there was one very special server I'll always remember.
The server went out her way to assist my deaf/mute family member to dinner service and assisted with his meal and selections. This will forever be a special memory to me from this amazing crew!

The food blew my guests and family away. I think there's nothing better to say than, my guests had seconds and thirds of Chef Tara's food and were wanting extra dinner servings (which there was plenty of) instead of cake. Yes, the food was that amazing.

Wedding pro says best caterer in CLT

Oh Chef Tara, you're a QUEEN!! I cannot recommend her enough! We had a terrible tasting with another caterer with horrible and cold food that we couldn't even choose from. In contrast, Chef Tara met us at a local starbucks and got to know us as a couple. My husband is Honduran and I'm from the South, so she created a custom menu for us that blended our two cultures. Before we even tasted her food, we knew it was going to be so good! And then for the tasting she came to our house and served us the food for the wedding! No surprise, it was amazing that day and on the day of the wedding. Her team made for a seamless reception and were so incredibly kind to us. Their service is seriously unmatched! As a wedding photographer, I've tried lots of caterers in the area and Chef Tara is the BEST!! Hands down! She's sweet, fun, and attentive and she was the perfect caterer for our elegant September wedding.

Chef Tara was SO amazing to work with from first planning meeting all the way to our wedding day! She made sure the wedding menu was exactly what we wanted and within our budget. Most of all, she took excellent care of us on our wedding day!! She made sure we were well fed and well hydrated throughout the entire day/night even though my husband and I were busy running around taking pictures and greeting people. Her staff helped out so much and were super great to work with as well. We enjoyed working with her so much that we actually referred her to our other family members who both are using/used her for their wedding/rehearsal. Our guests were so impressed by the food and service, several people have asked her for her info so that they could hire her as well. We LOVE her :) you seriously cannot go wrong working with Chef Tara.

We had a great experience with Chef Tara and her team for our daughter's wedding at Boxwood Estate last weekend! From start to finish, she was great to work with. She went above and beyond to make sure that we would have a menu that appealed to all our guests. My favorite was the chicken with chimichurri sauce and mango chutney, but the whole spread with delicious! She joined us at the venue (Boxwood Estate) for the walk-through a couple of weeks before the wedding to make sure she made a good connection with the venue team and the wedding director so she knew exactly what they needed and expected from her. Her team was professional, polite, effective without being intrusive and FUN! After all their work was done, we LOVED it that they joined us on the dance floor for a couple of songs near the end of the evening! We can't say enough good things about our experience working with Chef Tara and recommend her wholeheartedly!

Chef Tara and her team were absolutely amazing. I was currently living in California planning a wedding to take place in NC where I’m from. I wasn’t able to meet up with chef Tara however she went out of her way and met up with my mom and FaceTimed me during their meeting. Immediately I could just tell how genuine and honest chef Tara was. I knew right after that FaceTime I wanted to hire her. Her and her team went out of their way to make sure Greg and I were very well taken care and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Chef Tara and her team make you feel like family and that was very important to us. You will not be disappointed when you book chef Tara!

Chef Tara and her team were absolutely amazing! She had every detail covered! From the food to the service, everything was top notch!

At our first meeting with Tara, we told her our vision of a wedding with southern comfort foods and she helped us craft the perfect menu! The food was absolutely delicious and our guests have raved about it especially the appetizers of mini chicken and waffles and Mac & cheese bites! I was pretty sad the next day that I didn't make plans for any leftovers to come home with us! Other caterers we talked to gave us a preprinted list of dishes that we could choose but none that really wowed us.
During our meetings, I mentioned serving drinks outside during the cocktail hour and have them moved them back in for the reception- no problem for her whereas other caterers told us they would charge a crazy amount extra to do this. My dream wedding included vintage china and again other caterers told us they would charge extra for handling this- Chef Tara recommended an amazing rental company to us, her team set every place for us and had them packed and ready to go for my Mom at the end of the night.

We had a server who brought us our food and she and Chef Tara checked on us at our table throughout the reception.

I could go on and on but just trust us and hire Chef Tara! You will not regret it. The experience was completely stress free and we felt like royalty!

Chef Tara has a heart of gold! She is amazing, so personable and always kept us laughing. It's absolutely impossible to feel uncomfortable around her. Within 5 minutes of meeting her we felt like old friends meeting up again. Now to the food - holy cow was it amazing. She not only is an incredible chef but she truly catered to us. Chef Tara is SO easy to work with. She did such a fabulous job - from helping us come up with a menu, to accommodating special requests, and working with our budget. She's upbeat & happy, her staff obviously enjoys working with her, and the food was amazing. We received compliments on the food choices and quality all night long. She even designated a special server to watch after us in particular - making sure we always had food & drinks in our hands. Then her staff packed up all the leftover food and loaded it into my parents car at the end of the evening!!! We honestly didn't have to worry about a thing. Such a fun & special night. We will definitely plan to call on Chef Tara for any future catering needs!!!

We recently used Chef Tara for a company wide workshop at an offsite location and she was there from early morning until late night keeping our team fed with the BEST FOOD! She was an absolute delight to work with and very professional. The team is still raving about the food and the service. She went above and beyond for the entire four day event. Tara and her company were a great fit for our wedding. We had some serious picky eaters in our crew and she was the only caterer i contacted that was even willing to work on building a menu with me that wasn't just a standard meal menu they send out to pick from. Tara and team went above and beyond any expectations we had the day of our wedding. First, her food was delicious, beautifully presented, and still talked about by all our guests. We are so happy to have found Tara to cater our daughter's quinceanera (sweet 15). It was not easy finding a Puerto Rican cater in the South. Tara was very personable and attentive to all of our needs. She was patient as we decided on our selections and her pricing is very fair. Her food was delivered warm and delicious. All of our guests loved the meal. I couldn't have pulled this off without her constant positivity. Thanks, Tara!

"A recipe has no soul as the cook must bring soul into the food. Tara is a wonderful, warm and loving person. She took so much time and care to cater to both types of food since the wedding was a fusion wedding. We had both American and Indian food. Her suggestions were excellent. I would recommend her in a heart beat. Tara you rock and we loved everything you did for the wedding.

I had Tara to cater my rehearsal dinner. I asked her to do a typical dish from Peru to introduce the Latin flavor to my guest. Each of my guest was impress with the deliciousnes dishes. The yellow rice had a unique flavor with fresh vesgetable, the pork meat was tender with a sauce that made my guest to repeat for seconds, the CAUSA RELLENA - a traditional Peruvian appetizer was the bom. Thank you Tara for making my rehearsal dinner so special that each of my guest and I will remember the delightful dishes you cook that day.

Tara did a wonderful job catering to the kind of food we wanted for our anniversary wedding. The food was excellent and everyone I have spoken to after the wedding loved the food! We will like to thank Tara and her staff for an amazing job in our wedding, the food was delicious people really enjoy it, Tara was very flexible and helpful in the process of getting everything together, also the dessert table was great and I will have to get some more of the tres leches cupcakes. Tara's catering was on time, food was delicious and presented in a very appealing manner. Great value. Tara catered the event at what it would have cost to go pick up ourselves at a chain like Panera or Atlanta Bread Company. Tara let us concentrate on our business meeting instead of worrying about people leaving to get the food and bring back.

Tara was so wonderful to work with for our cooking class. We had a large party and she was so accommodating to our needs. She made the event fun and engaging for all. The food was amazing as well! We are already looking forward to using her again.

Chef Tara is amazing and comes highly recommended for all of your catering needs! I cannot gush about her enough! In my opinion, she's the best caterer in Charlotte. Not only is her food delicious and prepared to perfection, but she is also very attentive, helpful, flexible, highly professional, and above all, a blast to work with! My husband and I had no idea what to choose in the way of a menu for our wedding as we, our family, and friends had to consider a lot of food allergies for our event. All it took was one super fun coffee date with Tara to lay all our concerns to rest. She is very picky about the foods she chooses and only works with the finest, freshest ingredients. We had a delicious menu that catered to all diets: paleo, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy free. She rocked it all!

She was also very helpful throughout the planning process and answered every call, text, and email immediately. She periodically checked in to see if there was anything I needed. She handled everything, including the dinnerware, and even threw in some decorative touches. She is the best kind of perfectionist and truly values her clients and events. We never had to worry about that part of our wedding; from day one we were in good hands. She is very fair and works hard with you to customize a beautifully seamless event. We hardly saw her on our day, as she never once approached me for anything except to personally salt and pepper our plates! She made sure we ate, which was a huge blessing as we were super stressed and busy. Everyone raved about her food, and the people with allergies were ecstatic that they could enjoy delicious foods without worry on our day. Chef Tara and her team are truly amazing, and I have no doubts that she will be THE go-to caterer on the Charlotte scene in no time! Book her fast, y'all ;)

I contacted Tara in February to cook for our wedding in September, and she was very responsive. I was planning our wedding in NC from Ohio, and she made it easy with calls and emails. She had many delicious suggestions and it was hard to choose because it all sounded so good! She helped us create a menu, and then arranged a sample tasting. Everything was so tasty, even my daughter ate everything and she's my picky eater! Tara arrived the day of the wedding and took care of everything, and had everything ready when the guests came to the reception. Her staff made sure my husband and I were served and didn't have to worry about anything! The meal was stress free and they were very attentive to anything we needed, they were wonderful! In my husband's words, "Everything was perfect!" There was plenty of food, and she even packed up some leftovers for us. Just fantastic. Thank you Tara! I wish I could eat her cooking every night and taste all the different types of foods she can make! I hope I get a chance to hire her for a private dinner another time when we visit NC.

Rural Hill hosted a Spanish wine pairing dinner for 40 guests. Chef Tara and her staff were amazing. Chef Tara prepared a delicious 5 course Spanish inspired meal and her staff served each guest at their table. Each plate was presented beautifully. Not only was the meal amazing, but Chef Tara was equally amazing to work with in the weeks leading to the dinner. She has a wonderful personality that I loved working with, and our dinner guests truly enjoyed it as well.
