Amazing food and great service!

We previously did a tasting with a different catering company that had left us pretty disappointed, so going into our tasting with Catering by Design, we didn't have the highest expectations, but they knocked it out of the park... At the tasting, everything we sampled tasted great, and we were genuinely excited to share the food with our guests. They were also very responsive to questions or concerns we had. On the actual wedding day, the quality of the food remained as high as it was when first tried it, and we had multiple guests come up to us and say how great the food was. They were also a breeze to work with when I mentioned potentially wanting to distribute snack boxes to my guests at the end of the night as favors. The snack boxes were priced reasonably and included a sandwich, brownies, and chips. Guests loved having those to snack on as they went on their way home. Overall, value and service was unbeatable and I could not be more pleased with how everything turned out!

Outstanding food and service!

Catering By Design was a fantastic choice for our wedding! It was important to us to have authentic Southern BBQ when we were looking for caterers. By the end of our tasting with Catering By Design, we knew we were in great hands. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious everything was! The catering team was just as impressive—friendly, professional, and so attentive throughout the day. From our initial tasting to the big day itself, they were responsive, thoughtful, and truly went above and beyond to make everything perfect. We’re so glad we chose them and would absolutely recommend them for any special event!

Southern BBQ Buffet- Perfect!

Catering By Design executed a wonderful southern BBQ menu for our wedding! Kelli and team were super helpful throughout the whole process. We got to do a taste testing to help pick our menu, and were sent home with a bunch of leftovers, so we got a true taste of what to expect. They were able to accommodate a variety of dietary needs. The team the day of the wedding was amazing and efficient and all of the food came out amazing. We got a ton of compliments from our guests. They prepared an awesome spread for us of the passed appetizers to ensure we ate before we were announced at the ceremony. At the end, we got sent home with individual meals (with mini champagne bottles in a cooler!) for us and a bunch of leftovers. Amazing service - highly recommend!

Great food, great service

No complaints! Food was great, management and service was great, bartending was great. Everything from the tasting to our take-home meal at the end of our wedding day was wonderful. Good communication, good ideas to make the day easier on us, and most importantly (as mentioned already) good food!

Delicious!!! Such a great experience

Catering by design was amazing. From the start of our tasting to bringing out so many options to working alongside us and answering all questions we had up until the day of our wedding. Highly recommend them. We did multiple tastings with other caterers and they were the best. Our guests at our wedding couldn’t stop talking about how good the food was. Not only was it amazing they gave us all of the leftovers in to go bins that lasted us a week after our wedding. Such an amazing experience for our special day!

Amazing Experience!!

I could not be happier with our choice to go with Catering by Design!!! They did an incredible job with our southern food buffet and guests were raving about how much they loved the food and some said it was the best wedding meal they had. They served us right away at dinner and the Memphis style chicken was my absolute favorite along with their dinner rolls!! The tables moved along very quickly for the buffet and I was so happy with the service, the staff was so attentive and I could tell everyone was enjoying their meals during dinner!! Kelly was also very helpful and communicated quickly leading up to the wedding. They made it so easy, delicious and would 100% recommend!!!!

Don’t go anywhere else for another caterer!

Wow, wow, wow! To say these guys made our wedding incredible would be an understatement. I’ve never been to a wedding where the food was even better than the tasting. The staff was great to work with, most linens, place settings, and drink ware are included in their cost which did help save some money in the end. Their menus are completely customizable. We did the Top Notch buffet option but switched the chicken cordon blu with the Bacon Gouda stuffed chicken (10/10 recommend) and the beef wrapped mushroom with the mini beef wellingtons with no problem. Don’t skip the penne pasta either, it is dreamy. Everyone who attended can’t stop talking about the food and we crave it all the time. Portion sizes were great too. No one left hungry and they fix up the cutest little bento boxes for the bride and groom. Aside from the incredible food, the staff was exemplary. They were so professional and made sure we as the wedding couple, plus our family were attended to all evening. Their bartenders were also 10/10. They made the drinks to perfection and had a blast with us. Basically, this team made our day magical for not only us, but our guest, we can’t thank them enough. Seriously, don’t look anywhere else for a caterer, these guys are it.

Amazing food, great service

CBD catered our wedding at the NC Museum of Life and Science this spring. We went with the Simply Elegant buffet and it was amazing. Many guests have told me it was the best wedding food they’d ever had—especially the stuffed chicken! The catering manager was very down to earth and didn’t pressure us to do anything we didn’t want to (unlike several other caterers we talked with). On the day the staff was very friendly and completely on top of everything. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The catering manager even caught an oversight on the rental company‘s part a few days before the wedding, which shows their extreme attention to detail. They were also able to accommodate several dietary restrictions for our guests.

Food blew my guests away!

We used them for our rehearsal dinner and reception. My goal was to have something different, so we did a taco bar for rehearsal and breakfast food for the reception. The breakfast for dinner menu blew people away! Everyone was so excited about the chicken and waffles! I would highly recommend Catering by Design if you're looking for a flexible, professional, customizable, and unique caterer. They'll let you customize your dream menu and also have bartending services! They set up, cleaned up, cleared plates, cut the cake, and checked on the bride and groom to make sure we were satisfied. I couldn't recommend them enough!

Perfection

Catering By Design far exceeded our expectations; I just wish I could express how amazing they are. We did our tasting in June of 2019 and by the time we made it down the aisle, it was March of 2022. With so many changes we had to make throughout those almost three years, Catering By Design was unbelievably helpful and understanding.

We decided to have stationed appetizers and a buffet because, let’s face it, who doesn’t like to have a bunch of options?! The staff was absolutely amazing and so accommodating, and the food was spectacular.

As we provided the liquor, we decided to have Catering By Design provide the mixers and soft drinks and sweet tea. I asked if they could also provide grenadine and cherries so the six kids we had at the wedding could have Shirley Temples. What I never expected was for them to go over and beyond by making an entire beverage dispenser of Shirley Temple with a huge bowl of maraschino cherries next to it. Of course, I was a bit busy dancing my feet off so I didn’t even notice it, but we received so many compliments on that detail. I wish I had realized it that night because it was so special. Never, in all my years, did I expect them to do that from my simple request of having grenadine and cherries! That is something you can’t teach; their clients come first and they make you feel so special.

The bartender was great and she kept checking on us through the night, ensuring we had everything we needed. The servers were so polite and personable and they were the epitome of professionalism. At the end of the night, they packed our leftovers in to go containers and packed the leftover cake for us also.

Do yourself a favor and choose Catering By Design!

Amazing Food ....Even more Amazing People!

Catering by Design catered both of my daughter's weddings and one of the rehearsal dinners. They were amazing to work with and even practiced and incorporated one of our favorite family recipes. My youngest daughter was victim to the ever changing COVID wedding cancellation/rescheduling nightmare. Catering by Design stood by us with no additional fees. Kelly was a darling to help this VERY stressed Mom through this process. The food was amazing! I would highly recommend Catering by Design!!

Catering By Design is the best all the way around! Excellent service and food. Down-to-earth and approachable. Everyone we interacted with was intent on giving their best to make our daughter's wedding everything we wanted it to be. They were an integral part of making our daughter's wedding day perfect. The BEST food and team!!

Catering by Design was the exclusive caterer for our venue so we weren’t entirely sure about them at the point of booking. Wow, were we blown away!! After our tasting my husband and I could not stop talking about how delicious and unique the food was and had a hard time narrowing down what we wanted to offer because it was all amazing. We have received SO many compliments on the food from wedding guests! Aside from the food, the CBD team was absolutely amazing from the start. They helped guide our planning and answered any and all questions. The day of the wedding Melissa and Sarah and the whole staff were incredible. We fully trusted them to make our vision happen and they delivered and then some! We loved using CBD and will recommend them to anyone and will likely use them again for events in the future!

Out of this world Wedding Caters!!

My husband and I had the most incredible experience with Catering by Design, we were married on 10/09/2021 at The Evermore in Apex NC. They took on our 150 person wedding with ease including an open bar that ran all night long without a hitch. It rained on our special day and they flipped the reception space for the ceremony and back again with incredible efficiency. We would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone that wants their guest to rave about the wedding caters!!!

Delicious food and quality service!

I used Catering By Design for my wedding and was not disappointed! We did their Southern Style Menu (BBQ, chicken, mac&cheese, green beans, bread, salad) and it was incredible not only at the tasting but also at the wedding. I was worried that the tasting wouldn't compare to the actual wedding day but Catering By Design did a great job of keeping their food hot and high quality throughout the entire reception. They also had a great wait staff that made sure my husband and I got to enjoy our food and the appetizers we missed out on during cocktail hour. They even packed us a meal to-go at the end of the night. I would highly recommend using Catering by Design!

Everything we could have asked for and more!

Catering by Design was simply amazing. Everything from the food to the staff. Kelli was our contact and was super responsive and went above and beyond to make our day perfect. The food was so good! Some of our guests are still talking about how good the food was at our wedding. We also loved that they included a bartender with their services, so we didn't have to worry about finding one. We just had to provide the beer and wine. They also included full china and they cut and served our cake. They were pros! We were also very surprised at how reasonable the prices were. The price for what you're getting is really reasonable. Thank you Catering by Design for helping make our wedding day amazing!

I cannot say enough GREAT things

I *cannot* say enough great things about Catering by Design. (That's coming from a family of foodies.) Everyone we worked with phenomenal, and service ran seamlessly on the day of the event. The food was exceptional - exactly the same from the tasting to the day-of.

My parents exhausted all of the major caterers in the area, and none came close to Catering by Design with regard to food tastings.

My husband and I were out-of-state, so my parents did the initial tasting. Catering by Design happily provided he and I another tasting, so we could sample and tweak the final menu.

Perhaps MOST important - everyone prepared my husband and I that we wouldn't get a chance to eat on our wedding day. Catering by the Design saw to it that we tried everything from the cocktail hour and had a plate waiting for us when we sat down at the reception. I left my wedding full -- no togo box needed (but I know they would have provided one if we asked!)

Wow, Catering By Design did such a wonderful job at my daughter's wedding. From the initial meeting with them to the final payment, they were on top of it! We had an incredible experience planning our wedding catering with Catering by Design. From the very beginning with an amazing tasting to conversations throughout the planning process to the day-of. Kelli, who we worked with, was very responsive and always happy to answer any and all of my random questions. They made the planning process very easy and helped us find the right menu to fit our budget. On the day-of, the food was absolutely delicious, the staff was very efficient and organized, and we had so many people comment on how great all of the food and team members were. Amazing food, wonderful people to work with!

CBD was such an easy decision for us while planning our wedding. We worked with Kelli from the initial consultation/tasting all the way to the week of the wedding. She reassured us that her team of people would go out of their way to ensure the food was immaculate and we were well taken care of. We wanted to have more of a party style, station set up, where guests could go and eat whatever they wanted over the course of 2 hours or so (btw, if you're going back and forth over sit-down plated dinner to stations/heavy hors d'oeuvres, I wouldn't hesitate to go with the station style, you end up having way more time to party/mingle). Our favorites included the ham biscuits and the pasta option! The best part about it was that they made a plate ahead of time for my husband and I so we didn't even have to wait in line. CBD was also super flexible with our open bar, providing glassware and staff for us. I would 100% recommend them for your event!

The best food!

There are so many things that go into a wedding reception! Catering by design handles them all. The food is fabulous and they have so many things to choose from. Also their wait staff is the very best! My daughter was married on April 27th and I would make the same exact decision to go with catering by design all over again. There is a reason why they have one so many awards and you can't go wrong with them!

Great food, excellent service!

Catering by Design was wonderful to work with for our wedding. They were incredibly flexible with their tastings, and let us try food on multiple occasions to make sure we had the menu we wanted. They worked with us to keep the cost within our budget, but never once sacrificed quality of food or service. They are very straightforward and transparent with their pricing and do not have any hidden fees or extra charges to sneak in there at the end. No ridiculous corking fees, cake-cutting fees, etc. The food for a wedding is one of the most expensive ticket items, so you want to be sure you know what specific things your money is going to. The food was exceptional, and all of the serving staff was polite and efficient the day of. And it was refreshing to have someone reliable and experienced to handle such an important aspect as food. I would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding!

Great people, amazing food!

Couldn’t have asked for more! People say you don’t remember the food you had at a wedding but Catering by Design proved them wrong. We got so many compliments from our wedding guests! Not to mention we had to postpone our wedding due to a hurricane - Kelli and Stephen were so easy to work with and so understanding of the situation. Couldn’t recommend them enough! And the chicken stuffed with bacon and cheese in the pesto sauce! Yum!

CBD was great to work with!

Catering by Design catered our wedding at the College of Physicians and they were fantastic! Kristen was our coordinator and she was amazing to work with -- she was responsive, enthusiastic, patient and so knowledgeable. She took the stress out of our planning. Delicious! Professional! Industry Experts!

The catering by design team was incredible. Making selections during the tasting with Kelly was such a special experience. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and has fantastic ideas and suggestions. She and Steve gave me exactly what I wanted in terms of menu and were in consistent communication leading up to the day which made me feel comforted. Steve even drove out to our venue to help me with some suggestions on layout for tables, buffet & bar. The day of, the team was prompt, professional and dressed sharply. They were the perfect blend of available while blending in and helped my directors immensely in set up and disassembly. I adore them and am so grateful we had them their for our special day. & the food was amazing!!! I knew from the moment I tasted their food that they would be a hit. I still get compliments to this day on how delicious our food was and we had a room full of picky eaters and a picky groom & everyone LOVED it so I was pretty thrilled to say the least!

On the day of our wedding, the staff was more helpful than we ever could have expected. They were conscientious of our needs and wants throughout the night, and the bartender even made sure to save a glass of my husband's favorite wine for him when it was just about to run out! I definitely recommend working with Catering by Design.

We used Catering by Design for our wedding at Barclay Villa in Angier. Kelli is an absolute dream to work with! She is very responsive through email and phone calls. We went by several times to nail down the menu as well as pick out linens for all the tables and Kelli was always friendly and super helpful. She even came to the final walk through at the venue, which made a huge impression on me!

The food was absolutely out of this world! We chose the BBQ and chicken when green beans and mac and cheese. It was all so good and we had so many guests come up to us both during the reception and afterwards, talking about how wonderful the food was, especially the mac and cheese!

There is also a huge selection of linens, plates, silverware, napkins, etc... to choose from, so I would recommend using them for rentals as well as food! I've also heard they do a great job with events other than weddings, as well! I will definitely be using them again!

We loved catering by design! They helped us customize our menu, gave us a new quote each time we changed something (which was frequently), and the day of our wedding everything was perfect.

The food was incredible, but what all of our guests commented on was the professionalism of the staff. They were curteous, responsive, and seemed to melt into the background. The boxes they packed for us for a late night meal were the icing on the cake!

I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing caterer!

Catering by Design..OMG!!! I simply have to say outstanding..I loved, loved, loved the food..I overdosed on bacon..lol The breakfast was catered for my job site and there was more than enough. Our wedding food was amazing and worth the price. They will make a to go box for the bride and groom which is really nice. We had to change venues 4 hrs prior to the ceremony and the CBD team was very flexible and made our day happen.

Catering by Design was basically perfect! The food was amazing. Literally almost every person I spoke with, talked about how great the food was! They were incredibly nice and super accommodating. I did several last minute things and if it put a hitch in their plans, they didn't show it. They accepted it and kept going! The entire staff was great throughout the night. Working with the staff at Catering by Design was amazing! Their team worked flawlessly together, was so kind and considerate to myself and new husband, and were just plain fun. Delicious!!! What a fantastic caterer to work with. Steve was our head chef and made the reception an amazing experience. Throughout the night and days afterward, we kept hearing comment after comment about how delicious the food was. Of course we knew that because we had the wonderful tasting ahead of time where they prepared our entire menu and served us course after course. They were open to all of our suggestions and made great recommendations. Also, working with Kelli through the contract process was easy. We absolutely loved Catering By Design! They prepared such yummy food, everyone loved it!

Our reception was about 78 guests and we did buffet style. Let me start by saying the tasting was AMAZING! I have heard from other friends they have had to pay for a tasting, CBD is complimentary before you even sign a contract, so nice! They served us everything that would be served for the wedding and even boxed up the leftovers for us to take! They were so flexible on the menu, don't think that what they have posted is all they do, they will combine things to make it what you want.

We had hor d'ourves served at the cocktail hour. Cheese and crackers and hot crab-cake hushpuppies! Enjoy these at your tasting b/c on your wedding day you probably wont get any b/c they go fast!

For the buffet we had a salad, roasted veggies, roasted potatoes, chicken (stuffed with cheese mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes), a beef tenderloin for the carving station and of course rolls! My wedding was in October, it is December and people are still talking about that chicken!

CBD also did our wine and beer service and they were amazing! They had a great selection for both and even let me bring in my own prosecco.

The staff was amazing, so helpful and accommodating. We worked with Jen and Kelli leading up to the event. They were amazing. I made a few changes on numbers and beer and wine requests and they were great. I thought I was being a pain but they told me I was fine, I was the bride, they were here for me! I loved that!

I forgot to mention how affordable I think they are especially for the quality of food. I got pricing from 3-4 other caterers and would have had to compromise what I wanted in order for it to be in budget (mainly no carving station). They really work with you to get you what you want and stay in your budget!

Loved them, you wont be disappointed!

Where do I begin with Catering by Design! First of all, they really saved the day for me when I first began planning my wedding...I had a previous caterer before them that really wasn't communicating and just wasn't a great fit. I happened to find Catering by Design on a whim, saw they had wonderful reviews, and wanted to give them a try. When we went in for the tasting, we were absolutely blown away by how delicious the food was, and knew they had to be our caterer. We worked with Kelli leading up to the day, who was absolutely wonderful and made the whole process easy and stress free. Cut to the big day this past weekend, and Steven and the whole on-site crew were rockstars - they made sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of, not to mention keeping both myself and my husband fed as well (they even made us a whole plate of appetizers since we didn't get to eat much during the day/cocktail hour). Even when our speaker system went out for the music, they saved the day by bringing in their own stereo so we could dance! No hesitation, this group is the best group of people we've worked with throughout the entire wedding process, and are so glad we found them! With spectacular service, caring staff, AMAZING food and prices that won't break the bank, I highly recommend Catering by Design for any event!

We are planning a wedding from start to finish in less than 100 days and on a tight budget. After several meetings with other caterers, we were afraid we were going to have to provide the food ourselves! Then our venue recommended we check with Catering By Design - what a breath of fresh air! They listened to what we wanted and planned a menu that was perfect - and even worked with us to get it within our budget by eliminating things that weren't as important to us. They invited us in for a complimentary tasting (none of the others had) and if we weren't sold before, that definitely did it! Not only did they treat us like royalty while we were there for the tasting, the food was absolutely delicious! We had a couple of changes to our plan based on the tasting, and before I made it back to my office, they had the revised contract to us. The wedding is still 60 days out, but I am confident, especially after looking at these reviews, that they will not disappoint!

Catering by Design was one of the best decisions we made leading up to the wedding. We had tried several catering companies out before really giving CBD a chance. After being let down several times, we decided to go in for a tasting at CBD. I had been emailing with Jen (who is amazing) and she said "why don't you come in, we want to impress you". Wow. We were impressed. We were looking for a southern buffet menu with plenty of southern sides. When we came in for our tasting, they cooked us the entire menu (with plenty to spare and a to-go box). The food was piping hot and had that southern home cooking feel. The food didn't taste like typically catered food. After we chose CBD as our caterer, Jen helped coordinate the linens and table set up. She helped put my mind at ease by taking care of what needed to get done. On the wedding day, when we got to the reception venue, we were greeted with beverages and asked if they could go ahead and prep a dinner plate for us. The staff was on top of all their responsibilities including the champagne toast and cake cutting. I have to say, when one of the most popular comments we have gotten from guests was "your food was the best wedding food we have ever eaten", I think that says it all.

We were SOOOO pleased with the service and food from Catering by Design. Jen was so easy to work with (always helpful and quick to respond to all of my emails). The food that was served at the wedding was excellent... and exactly what we were served at our tasting. We went with the southern buffet option. BBQ at weddings is becoming a pretty common thing in NC, but their display was beautiful and elegant, and the food was simple but still unique. BEST mac'n'cheese I've ever had. They served the alcohol that we provided without ridiculous corking fees, and they even boxed up all of the leftovers for us. The servers and bartenders were very professional and attentive. I'm a wedding photographer, and so I work with LOTS of caterers. Catering by Design was wonderful with my vendors as well as my guests. I highly recommend them!!!

I cannot say enough about CBD. They catered two events for our family in the same week: my husband and I renewed our vows in front of a small group of family members in our daughter Alison’s home for our 40th anniversary on a Tuesday evening and then she was married to our now son-in-law Jason the following Saturday. From the first phone contact that I had with Jen, she was a joy to work with. For the anniversary dinner we had a simple buffet from CBD’s suggested menus, with one variation on a dish that was recommended by Jen after hearing what we didn’t like about a particular dish. Her idea was spot on and the dinner went off without a hitch thanks to Steve’s personable and attentive work.
When it came to planning food for the wedding, we were much pickier clients. For our first planning meeting with Jen, we walked in with a complete menu already prepared with few items from CBD’s printed repertoire. We wanted 3 stations with regional cuisine from the Northeast, Southwest, and Southern US since our guests came from all over with widely different taste palates. Several tastings later and with direct input from the chef, we arrived at a spectacular menu.
The day of the wedding, we could not have asked for anything more from either the food or the service from CBD’s staff. One dish was better than the next. In our opinion and that of our guests, the chef and his assistants outdid themselves. Similarly, Steve and his crew were as attentive and helpful as they could have been. Each and every one went out of the way to do whatever they could to make the reception a success, without worrying whether or not something was “their job”. All in all, our experience with CBD was impeccable and you could not go wrong hiring them to cater an event.
NOTE: CBD donates leftover food that you do not take home to help feed the homeless!

I cannot say enough about how amazing CBD was for our wedding. Jen had amazing response time. Catering was what I had imagined would be the biggest headache, and they made it a breeze. We were able to get essentially everything we wanted within our budget, and the food was incredible -- people are still talking about it! We had a nacho bar, for goodness sakes! They even made things for our tasting that we were interested in that weren't on their regular menu! I have absolutely no regrets. The whole staff was wonderful to work with. I can't begin to tell you how fantastic Catering By Design is. We had a Luau themed reception and the food was PERFECT! We had everything from chicken and pineapple kabobs to shrimp cocktail to a fruit skewer tree with the best creme I have ever tasted.Oh and do not get me started on the pork lion with the pineapple salsa relish and chicken with the Vanilla sauce, Hawaiian rolls, well I think you get the point.Just perfect. The professionalism and hard work of the staff topped it off. Catering By Design will be our first and only choice for any and all events. Thank you again for a job well done!

I cannot say enough things about Catering by Design. They were a breeze to work with and always made me feel like I was their most important client.

I worked with Amanda, who was so nice and professional throughout all of our meetings. We made several changes to our menu (a few at the last minute!) and she took it all in stride. She always sent us an updated invoice very quickly after we made any changes. I must have asked her a million questions in the last month before the wedding and she answered every one!

They also coordinated our linen/flatware/silverware rental using CE rentals, which was great. You just show up, pick the fabric swatches you want, and that's it! Easy peasy.

The service was great. They brought food and drinks to my husband and I all night, recognizing how busy we were. We didn't even have to go through the buffet line, they brought a plate to us! The food was great, tasted just as good as at our tastings. We brought in our own alcohol, which they did not charge us for. We had to bring it to the venue ourselves (no big deal) but their bartenders served it up for us with no issues. At the end of the night, they packaged up the leftovers and sent them home with family and friends. Would definitely recommend them to any bride and groom!

I can't say enough good things about this caterer! We had several really good tastings, but they won us over with their flavorful food, professionalism, and decor. Our wedding coordinator, Stuart, was absolutely fantastic. He always responded quickly to emails and was responsive to our every need. He helped us with rentals and the alcohol order. At the wedding, CBD set everything up quickly and efficiently, and it looked fabulous. All of the staff were extremely professional and responsive to our every need. I highly recommend them.

Catering by Design were amazing for our wedding! They were VERY affordable - the lowest price among all the caterers we looked into. In addition, the food was awesome! Several guests came up to us and commented on how good the food was. The bartender was very quick and professional, as was the rest of the waitstaff. They were very attentive to not only the bride and groom but also to all of our guests. Throw in a free cake cutting service and that seals the deal! While there was a slight problem with our cake (not made by them), they were able to make the best of the situation to keep things running smoothly and none of the guests were any wiser. They also arranged all rentals (linens, etc) and took care of all deliveries during setup. They made everything so easy; we would highly recommend them for anyone else looking for a caterer.

I am sure everyone who works at Catering by Design are wonderful but Kelly is a doll. Her infectious joy is such a pleasure to work with. Having worked along side Catering by Design many times I can tell you they are professional setting up, they are efficient and the food is delicious. I am always pleased when I get to work with them. After all MEWS Designs and Catering by Design make a good team, designing together to give you the perfect day.

My experience with Catering by Design was top notch! Planning with Jennifer was effortless. She is a true professional who knows her business, asking questions I never thought about and really making sure she understood my vision.

On the day of the wedding, the food was amazing! Even more than that though, the service was so far above and beyond my expectations! The staff was incredibly responsive, helpful, supportive and attentive! When one of my guests accidentally spilled an entire glass of red wine down the front of my gown, it was a member of the staff who knew just what to do! She whisked me down to the end of the hall, where my bridal party stood around me creating a private little area. She gave me a chair and went to work with white wine removing the red wine stain (who knew!?). While she was doing that, other members of the staff took the moment to bring me a lovely plate of food and something to drink, recognizing that I was completely inundated and overwhelmed with the guests that had enthusiastically swarmed me up until that point, making it impossible for me to get food (or air!). :) This was just one example of my terrific experiences with Catering By Design. It is this kind of attentiveness that doesn't show up in any contract and while every bride hopes for it, it all too often is not always part of the experience.

Family and friends are still marveling about the incredible service and food. I would recommend Catering by Design without reservation to anyone!

"Great wedding ! Even better food!"...the review from my MOH. :-) Catering by Design impressed me from the beginning. I highly recommend Catering by Design. They worked within our budget and the food, service and presentation were top notch. Jen was wonderful to work with while planning the menu and layout and the moment I met Steven (our on-site manager) I knew everything would run smoothly the day of - and they still exceeded my expectations. Every server at the reception was friendly and professional and so attentive. I cannot tell you what a relief it was as a bride to never worry about the catering - everything was perfect.

I have worked with CBD both personally (for our wedding rehearsal dinner) and professionally at work. Each time they go above and beyond with service and quality. Our rehearsal dinner menu was DELICIOUS and they were even able to bar-tend for us which was an added bonus. Their staff is easy to work with and helped our event to run smoothly.

The food we had at our wedding was incredible! I have had food from Catering by Design at multiple events and it never lets me down! The staff and servers were meticulous in making sure my husband and I had everything we needed. It doesn't get any better!

The appetizers and buffet presented to our guests at our daughter's wedding in March 2013 were excellent. Jen and the staff at Catering by Design could not have been easier to work with throughout the process. The event was planned long distance and they made it so easy! The meal was delicious (the barbeque brisket was outstanding and the crab cake appetizers really taste like Maryland crab!) and we received countless compliments on it. The staff was professional and friendly. We recommend Catering by Design without hesitation.

There's a reason why this caterer has won awards every year. They simply are the best. We interviewed two other companies, and I wished I had not wasted my time. We were quoted more for less at those companies, and they lacked the professionalism that Catering by Design exemplifies. Greg Lewis, Jen and Steven G are to be commended for their superior service. They were available when needed, willing to modify the menu based on tastes, spelled out exactly what was included and not included (and then followed thru to make sure someone was providing the rentals for other vendors). My main request was that I not have to "be in charge" at my daughter's wedding - I wanted them to run the show and not need to ask me questions or have me track them down. Other than being served the butlered appetizers and them confirming with me when I wanted to crowd to begin going through the food line, I can honestly say that I never noticed the servers all night long! They were unobtrusive and cleared tables so smoothly that I never even noticed. They get my highest recommendation and grateful thanks.

Catering By Design catered my wedding October 6, 2012. I booked them fairly early in the process of planning, and I knew right off the bat that I had chosen the right caterer. I was in contact with the owner, Greg Lewis, from the start. Any questions that I had, he answered promptly. He was one of the few vendors that I had, that responded quickly, and always answered every little question I had. As the day approached, I was put in contact with another employee, Jen. She was also amazing. I can honestly say that I love Catering By Design. I had NO PROBLEMS with them at all. We had to make changes to our menu, and I trusted them so much, that I didn't even feel the need to try the different food they put on my menu.

THE FOOD! The food was BY FAR the BEST food! Every single person as my wedding loved EVERYTHING! My fiancee and I went to Hawaii on our honeymoon, and had pork at a luau. That pork had NOTHING on Catering By Design. We are already talking about going to their restaurant so that we can have more of their food.

Be prepared though. They are pricey. But WELL WORTH IT! I can't say anything bad about them. They will def. work with your budget as well. But I am telling you, meet with them, have them make your menu, and try everything. You will fall in love!

I want some of their food right now.. :)

They were easy to work with, flexible, and experienced. Organizing the event was stress free and we had an opportunity to taste the food before deciding on a menu. We liked that everything was taken care of (plates, napkins, bartending, clean-up, food service) with one vendor. Their service at the event was phenomenal and everyone commented on how kind and tentative the bartenders and service staff were. They went above and beyond to make the event fantastic.

Greg at Catering by Design was fantastic to work with. He and Jen helped us put together a menu for our wedding that was exactly what we wanted. We had a buffet meal and all of the entrees were delicious. They were very helpful and easy to work with. During the planning process, they were always quick to respond to even the smallest question.

We had a small wedding (70 guests) and I felt lost in the shuffle when interviewing some caterers. Catering by Design made us feel like we were their only client and they went out of their way to earn our business.

The staff who worked the event were professional and hard working. I would highly recommend Catering by Design.

Greg and his team (Chris & Chris) at 'Catering by Design' were amazing! They provided everything from the food to the rentals, dinnerware, and linens and every bit of it was perfection. I had to plan my wedding from another state and Greg was more than willing to meet with me every time I was in town to make sure every question was answered and every detail was covered. Everything they provided was beautiful and I couldnt have asked for a better set-up. They met all of my expectations and my family and I are more than pleased with their services.

After researching 18 caterers for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner, I chose Catering by Design based on their resonable pricing and my initial meeting w/the owner/executive chef, Greg Lewis, who assisted my son and his fiance in making the numerous choices of food, linens, dishes.

I cannot say enough about how professional, thorough, warm and friendly the CBD Team was from beginning to end. Not only did the CBD staff meet all expectations, they went well above. Their execution of setup, serving, break down was so efficient and flawless that I was completely free to enjoy the guests that I was hosting.

The prices were reasonable, the food delicious (with the mac & cheese condiment bar being a big hit) and the staff extraordinarily exceptional.

I will never need to do research for a caterer again as I have found THE caterer for any future events I may have and will be enthusiastically recommending Catering by Design to anyone and everyone I can.

Catering by Design did SUCH a great job at our wedding reception. Greg really took a look at my budget and included everything I wanted. He even travelled out of town to take a look at the venue and helped with many last-minute details I had overlooked. The food (and display) was awesome and the staff was so helpful. Greg and his staff went above and beyond to make sure that we were pleased with their services. We always received a quick response when we had questions. Greg and his team did an amazing job meeting our vision. Everyone has raved about the food even weeks after the wedding. I've had a few people tell me they wish they had done an upscale nacho bar at their wedding. You won't be disappointed with these guys!
