We have to honestly say that we stayed in awe of Castleton! The staff was kind, professional, polite, and helpful. Alex, Stephanie, and Julia were my points of contact during my entire planning, and they each provided me with ease, calm, and a peaceful atmosphere to ask questions and share any thoughts. The prices were affordable, and they worked with us to create the best plan that fit our needs. Our guests were very happy to be there and enjoyed themselves tremendously. From the planning, set-up, wedding, and break down, the staff at Castleton were intentional and patient. Thank you, Castleton! We appreciated everything you did for us! :)

Castleton is fantastic! Alex Hallee was our contact person and she is so responsive and nice! We loved working with her! And our day of coordinator was Cindy and she put our decorations out exactly as my wife and I described! The food was delicious and the space was gorgeous with its outdoor fire pits. Our guests absolutely loved it and had a great time and LOVED the food! For what we paid it was definitely worth the cost! They are also LGBTQ+ friendly!

We had our Wedding here a few weeks ago and my Husband and I, as well as our friends and family, cannot stop thinking about it. From the planning appointments and seamless communication with Alex and Stephanie to our amazing day of coordinator, Rilinda, and all of the staff in between, the Castleton was such a great establishment to work with. They truly want your special day to be the best that it can be and will go above and beyond to accommodate your requests.

I am so glad that we chose to work with the Castleton for our Wedding and we would not have changed a thing!

This venue is beautiful and well maintained. We are so happy we booked them for our wedding. Staff is very friendly and willing to answer any questions. We had a great line of communication the entire process. They worked with us to create our wedding vision and accommodate requests as much as possible. We had a guest with a lot of food allergies and the kitchen was great with providing them a safe and delicious meal. Food was delicious and the ceremony space and reception room looked beautiful. All of our guests said they had a wonderful time and how much they liked the venue. Best of all they charged much less than similar venues we saw in massachusetts.

Alex and her staff hand down amazing . Very respectful, responsive, answered questions . The venu staff my day . Coordinator Rlinda, so sweet pay close attention to how I wanted my tables the invision I had she brought it alive . The ceremony was on the patio, light rain by got everything under control The food so many people raved about it. The beef was perfectly cooked just amazing. Garlic mash potatoes and carrots to die for . The cracker crumble hadock. perfectly cooked. The best venu I could ever have it was a fair table ! I highly recommend them for any occasion.

Alex was so helpful and always happy to answer all of my questions the entire year and a half of planning. Our day of coordinator, Julia was the best. She set up all of our decorations just the way I wanted and was so helpful throughout the whole day/night. The food was amazing. They custom made a burrito bar for us. They also take down/pack all of your decorations for you. I couldn't have dreamt of a better venue for our special day.

The Castleton made our dream wedding come true! They were so amazing from start to finish! The food at our wedding was outstanding and Stephanie and Alex were awesome to communicate with and made sure everything was perfect!

We had our wedding at the Castleton and the service was excellent! The food was great! The price was reasonable for what we wanted! Everything went as planned. I would recommend this venue to anyone that needs a hall for any occasion.

I can't say enough how amazing they were. Helping us though covid and numbers of guest they were so helpful and didn't nickel and dime us. They set everything up perfectly. Had multiple options for us as was going to rain that day. Luckily we got through the ceremony before the rain. Alex and Stephanie were there with us the whole way. Food was so good all our guests were talking about it. Wish had some late night for a snack haha. You won't be disappointed if you pick this for your wedding venue or any party.

We could not be happier to have chosen Castleton as our wedding reception venue! We had a challenging time planning our wedding and reception due to covid, but everyone at Castleton was so nice, accommodating, and easy to work with.

First, our wedding coordinator Alex was simply the best. She was so patient with all of our questions and was so helpful as we toured the first time, booked our date, and during the lead up to the wedding. And of course, the day of the reception, she made everything run so smoothly!

Wedding planning can be stressful at times, but everyone at Castleton made things so easy. Everyone was setup exactly how we wanted for the reception - it was perfect. The banquet hall and grounds outside are beautiful as well, with a great view overlooking the water.

We would recommend Castleton to anyone looking for a wedding reception venue! Everyone we interacted with was so nice and made this an easy choice!

Truly!! My husband and I decided to host our wedding at The Castleton back in 2018, planning for October 2020. Then... welp... 2020 happened. The Castleton manager, Stephanie, and all of their staff could not have been more responsive, understanding and simply amazing throughout the entire wedding planning process. After many phone calls, emails and adjustments to our plans, the big day finally came. It. Was. PERFECT. The venue was absolutely gorgeous. Julia took notes of my vision, made the place look incredible and I did not have to worry anything other than enjoying our perfect day. Our guests had an absolute blast despite the ongoing chaos and loved the space indoors and out (especially the fire pit). Truly, we would not have been able to have the wedding of our dreams this year if it had not been for The Castleton and their wonderful staff!

We had our wedding here, and it was a great time.
Our ideal wedding ceremony was right on the water, and Castleton has that and plenty of back-up options in case of foul weather. The food was cooked great!
The grounds have plenty of photo opportunities, but we ran out of time to get a few we really wanted. - god, the time flew by!

First off, I'd like to say the staff at Castleton go above and beyond for their clients. Alex and Stephanie were extremely flexible and responsive throughout the entire planning process. We planned a last minute wedding for August 11, 2019 and were given only 2.5 months to plan. It could've not gone any smoother thanks to the help of these amazing coordinators!

The days leading up to the day of the wedding were organized and stress free, having them lead me in the right direction. The day of our wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Everything was in it's placed and done being set up when I arrived for 11:30am (1.5 hours before my ceremony time). The venue speaks for itself and they have made many updates over the years just adding to it's beauty! Alex, our amazing coordinator, and her sidekick, Kelly, who was learning, helped from everything from helping me get my shoes on to bustling my dress! They made everything extremely stress free.

The food was amazing and the staff accomodated whatever diet/food allergy there was. I can not recommend this place enough. Whether it's a wedding or any other event, I assure you the Castleton staff will take care of all your needs and beyond that.

So thankful we chose this venue to have our special day at!

Everyone at Castleton was extremely helpful and they all did an amazing job! Alex was our coordinator and she was incredible! A thunderstorm moved our wedding ceremony inside at the last minute and everything went so smoothly. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of venue!

Castleton is a breathtaking place. Me and my fiance felt in love with it at first sight. Their staff is extremely kind and attentive! Their price is great and their flexibility as well.
We had to change the date and time of your wedding a couple of times and they were able to accommodate us with no problem. Their are great at contacting us back and clarifying the multiple questions we have.

I cannot thank the Castleton staff enough for everything they have done for us. The food was also amazing and we received many compliments. The grounds are perfect for pictures and getting married in front of the pond is a dream. visited the Castleton, and booked my daughter's wedding for August 2020. The venue although its winter and cold, i can envision the beautiful grounds and the lake will be breathtaking without breaking the bank.
Alex was super sweet as well. it's going to be fun planning with her as the coordinator.

I was highly impressed with the help the bridal party and I got with the Venue for my sister in law’s dream wedding. Not only did they provide an incredible service for all of us, but they made us bridesmaids and bride feel comfortable and accommodated! I would definitely recommend Alex, the coordinator to anyone!

I only had to look at 3 venues before I knew Castleton was the place for us. When you drive in you see a gorgeous rock waterfall but the real breath taker is when you walk around and suddenly get this amazing view of Cobbetts Pond. The outdoor ceremony space is right on the water so it makes for stunning photos. But that’s not why I chose Castleton. I chose it because of the incredible staff. I had the pleasure of working with Caitlyn and it is the reason we picked Castleton. She is amazing! She immediately made us feel welcomed, gave us a big tour, and answered ALL of our questions. I even called her the next day because I knew my mom had to see this place too. So we went back and she answered every question my mom had too. She was incredible in helping with every detail of the wedding. She suggested some amazing vendors which helped our day go that much better and she was even there the day of still making sure everything went perfectly. Not only would I strongly recommend Castleton for the view, the big dance floor, and the food but I would recommend it because of the incredibly helpful staff who all made our day amazing.

Having our wedding at Castleton was the best decision we made! We are so happy that we used Castleton for our 8/6/16 wedding! Dawn, Stephanie and Caitlyn were all amazing to work with from the very beginning and gave us a very personalized experience. The best decision we made for our wedding was having it at the Castleton! We had the pleasure of working with Stephanie, Dawn and Relinda throughout the process. Every meeting with Stephanie solidified what I had hoped for in a wedding venue: the staff cared about every detail and ensured that we were getting our money's worth! We had a diverse crowd of guests and the Castleton was able to accommodate our food preferences. Relinda was an angel throughout the entire rehearsal and wedding day - with a bridal party of 20 people, Relinda was able to direct us all and keep everyone in line! We lucked out and had the most beautiful wedding day with clear blue skies. For the scenery, food, decor, and amazing staff, we know the Castleton was the best choice for us! We have received so many compliments from our guests telling us ours was the most beautiful wedding they've ever attended!

My husband and I had our wedding at Castleton on 10-3-2015 and can't say enough nice things about the venue and they ladies we worked with. From day one Dawn & Stephanie made us feel right at home and answered any questions quickly and thoroughly. They made our wedding day perfect. Our day of wedding coordinator, Giselle, was phenomenal! She really helped me feel at ease from the rehearsal all the way until the end of our reception. The food was great and our guest had a great time. We would highly recommend Castleton for your event!!

We hosted our daughter and new son-in-law's wedding here 9/26/15. It was absolutely perfect and many, many folks commented on the beauty of the venue. Booked it about 1.5 years in advance. It's a popular place - for good reason - so I'd definitely recommend grabbing it early.

Working with Stephanie pre-wedding was a dream. She responded very quickly to any emails I sent, which was very impressive. She's professional yet personable, which is big in my book. It got to a point that I let her know if I didn't hear from her in, say, 48 hours, I'd assume something was wrong and call the authorities. :-) She's all over your event, despite the fact that there are a billion others going on in her world.

The staff was very attentive that evening. There was a small glitch at one point, but it was completely my mistake. I let one of the staff know that I miscounted the seating at a table and needed another place setting. They were all over it and got it taken care of in a matter of minutes.

Caitlyn was our hostess that evening and she was great. I knew I could seek her out and get whatever we needed taken care of. She even helped with the bustling of the gown, which was HUGE 'cause we all took a stab at it and gave up. She definitely has had some practice with this!

I can't say enough about Castleton. I thought the food was very good and comments from guests confirmed that. BIG thing to know: They make a point of bringing out hors d'oeuvres to the wedding party during photos and ensure the bride and groom, especially, are well fed. Staff accompanied them to the buffet and got their selections for them.

One of the final, deciding factors about Castleton was that their minimum INCLUDES tax and gratuity. Everywhere else you look, you'll see their minimums do not. That's a whopping 30% more.

Book Castleton. 'Nuff said.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think about Castelton is - WOW!

Not only were the grounds beautiful, impressive, and well-maintained, but the staff was completely amazing. I worked with Stephanie and Deb for the planning, then with Rilinda for the coordination. All three of the women were completely amazing and responsive to me. They all understood how stressful things can get, but were always calm, cool, and collected.

Castleton made our wedding perfect, and I would recommend the venue to anyone and everyone.

The venue was gorgeous and Steph, our wedding planner, was incredible! The day went by without any issues and all of my emails were answered quickly. The cost can't be beat and it turned out gorgeous!!

Just perfect! Working with the Castleton for our wedding was a dream. From our initial consultation and subsequent planning, to (most importantly), the day of our wedding, the staff of the Castleton were just wonderful to work with. We worked with Stephanie during our planning stages, and she was extremely helpful and very prompt to answer any questions I had. She made us feel very taken care of, which is wonderful. She was also very flexible with us, as we live out of state, and was accommodating with our appointment times (greatly appreciated). She also worked with us to help find a convenient rehearsal time. We did also meet with Dawn on one occasion, and she was equally wonderful. The Castleton is excellent with their customer service.

Ashley was our day of coordinator, and she is amazing! We were told that all we needed to do was drop off our supplies with her before the rehearsal, go over the details, and then we did not need to worry about anything until we were walking down the aisle. This is exactly what happened! Ashley knows exactly we she is doing, and our wedding day ran seamlessly. We never had to worry about what time it was or what we had to do next, Ashley was on top of it! She also had all of our things packed up, so our only cleanup responsibility was packing our car. Our guests complimented us on how smoothly the day went.

Food was very important to us, as we wanted to provide food that would be enjoyed by all our guests. We chose the buffet for our dinner, and the food was excellent! Our guests loved the food (as did we). The mashed potatoes and mac & cheese are excellent! We just wish we had more time to eat (busy day!) and would love to attend a wedding at the Castleton as guests!

We absolutely recommend the Castleton. The venue is beautiful (we had an outdoor ceremony, the private garden is lovely), the staff is incredible, and the food is delicious! Our wedding experience with the Castleton was amazing from start to finish!

Absolutely loved this venue! We're looking for a rustic nature theme for our October wedding & this place was impressive! The alter right in front of the water, the bridge and the gardens with the little dock & we were looking specifically for a time that would allow us to take pictures during the day, sunset and then even after & they catered specially towards this. Very impressed with the set up of everything & this choice is definitely in our top 2! Caitlyn was also great at answering all our questions, showing us everything and being very warm & welcoming. If we do chose to have our wedding here I can't wait to see the end result!

Everyone at Castleton was amazing to work with! I didn't have to worry about a thing. Every time I had a question or a concern, I emailed Dawn and she got back to me very quickly. There is a lot of planning that goes into a wedding and a lot of decisions to be made, and everyone at Castleton worked with us and helped us make decisions on room layout, meals, even helped make recommendations when we were having difficulties with choosing vendors. The food was amazing, everyone is still talking about how delicious and abundant the food was 2 months later! The day of the wedding itself our coordinator was fantastic, she made sure we had everything we needed and took care of everything- down to making our centerpieces for us! I was looking for a place where I could have an outdoor ceremony, indoor reception, beautiful pictures, and was within our budget, and we got everything we wanted with Castleton.

This was the perfect venue for our wedding. I knew I didn’t want to have it at a country club and everywhere in Boston was too expensive. When I saw Castleton, I knew it was going to be perfect. Stephanie and Dawn were great to work with. They were so friendly and made you feel comfortable. When we went to look at the venue, Stephanie took the time to draft up a sample menu so we could see what fit into our budget. We ended up using the whole hall. The dance floor was huge and that was one of our requirements. You could hear our band (Big Party Orchestra) throughout the whole space. Stephanie and Dawn were responsive with every question that I had no matter how small. While we were taking pictures, they set up a table of all hor d’oeuvres for the wedding party so we weren’t starving by the time dinner came. We had amazing pictures (by Classic Photographers) and the food was great. I really have no complaints and I highly recommend Castleton for any event.

My wedding at Castleton could not have gone better! I was not the most organized/put together bride, but the staff patiently helped me through all the details I hadn't though of yet. Any questions I had were answered promptly, and I felt confident that nothing would go wrong once I walked through the doors on my wedding day.

The food was tasty, especially the appetizers. I almost wish I had ordered more of them! We went with the buffet dinner option, and the staff invited guests to the buffet line table by table at first so my fears of a sudden feeding frenzy were put to rest. ;)

What can I say about Castelton...they are INCREDIBLE! From the time we went in for our initial meeting to the planning, and reception everyone was professional, and attentive to our every need. It was a true pleasure to work with such great folks. I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a function. The staff went above and beyond even our guests commented on how great they were.

Working with Castleton was a dream. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We loved it so much that our daughter got married there only a few months later. The food was outstanding and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. I would recommend this venue to anyone getting married.

Choosing Castleton for our wedding was the best decision we made. The staff was extremely friendly, super helpful, and great to work with. Stephanie was amazing to work with; we loved working with her so much that we requested for her to be our hostess on the day of the wedding. During the planning stages Steph and Dawn were very efficient, quick to respond, and always thorough. Day of, we were so impressed by how professional the whole staff was, and how well Steph did her job. She spent the night making sure my husband and I had something to eat, the drinks we wanted; she was our guide through the whole day and she made sure we were satisfied at all times.

The atmosphere of Castleton cannot be beat. One of our biggest requirements when choosing a hall was that we needed to like the indoor ceremony option as much as the outdoor. The outdoor ceremony options at Castleton are clearly gorgeous - they are immaculate and always well tended. The indoor option (in front of the waterfall) was preferable to all other indoor options we had seen. Day of, "preferable" turned to "absolutely awesome". Even though it was a beautiful day outside - 70 degrees in November?! - the wind was unruly, so we elected to have the ceremony inside and we were very pleasantly surprised. It was intimate without being crowded, elegant without being showy, and overall a great place for us to take our vows.

Although we barely ate, we have heard numerous rave reviews from our guests about how delicious their meals were. We served steak and chicken Marsala - family style - with mashed potatoes and green beans. For dessert, we skipped over the whole cake concept and went right for the ice cream bar with hot apple crisp! Our guests loved the whole menu.

Overall, we absolutely loved the entire experience and we hope we someday get to be guests at weddings there!

I had my wedding at castleton in October and although the weather didn't cooperate the staff at castleton is wonderful! They met with me numerous times over the course of the year leading up to the wedding and listened to my concerns. I think the site is meant to be a full room, like I had, rather then half rooms.

We had our wedding reception at the Castleton, it was amazing! The staff was super helpful in all our arrangements and big day! The food was overly amazing, so amazing I wish they were a restaurant! I have been craving my wedding meal since our wedding! Our guests were overly pleased with the venue and the staff!! Not one complaint! The grounds are beautiful, even on a cold day in November!!! They made up dates from the day we booked it to our wedding day and the changes were so great!! I loved the lighting and indoor waterfall! I would recommend checking out the Castleton for your next event!

Every single coordinator I communicated with was professional, responsive, and happy to help! The grounds are gorgeous and food is great! Based on other venues in the area, this one is the best value. You seriously get it all and more without breaking the bank!

Castleton is a beautiful venue. Stephanie and Dawn are angels. They are available almost any time of the day to answer your questions. The venue is very affordable! The food was very good I would suggest the lemon caper chicken amazing! My only complaint was with my hostess I felt like she needed a lot of direction. she spent a majority of the night in the kitchen and you needed to go to the bartender to ask for her.

Dawn, Stephanie and Melissa are amazing! They were very helpful, always super nice and easy to talk to and were willing to do anything to help make the day go well.

I cannot say enough about the staff at Castleton! Our wedding would not have been as amazing as it was anywhere else. The staff, Dawn, Stephanie, and Melissa, were very responsive and caring, even during my bridezilla moments. Everything was so well coordinated, and they took care of everything from the first meeting to after the reception had ended. The food was amazing - everything was cooked properly and came out together with no issues. I have food allergies, and they were able to accommodate me and some of my guests with no issue. The grounds are immaculate - all of my photos came out beautiful!

Castleton hosted our wedding reception and I cannot say enough about how caring, professional, flexible, and attentive they were to our needs both through the planning process and on our wedding day! Stephanie was absolutely fabulous to work with, she is so sweet and truly dedicated to making sure the bride and groom have their dream wedding day. She was always quick to respond to e-mails and always stayed on top of everything that needed to be done, from 18 months before to the wedding day. We made quite a few changes to our menu and Steph and Donna were always more than happy to accommodate us. At the wedding, Stephanie was checking in with myself, my husband, and both of our mothers to ensure that things were going smoothly and coordinated with our DJ, photographer, and videographer to make sure everyone was always on the same page. Besides their wonderful staff, we got compliments on the food, the decor, and the undeniably gorgeous grounds and landscaping at Castleton. We did a lot of research about pricing and value for the reception venues in the area before seeing and booking Castleton, and I can say without hesitation they are absolutely the best you can get without going into Boston and spending $150+/guest. If I got to pick again I would still choose Castleton!

This venue was a dream come true! From the first meeting to the day of our wedding, all the employees were very helpful! We had a very easy time planning our wedding with Stepanie & Dawn! My husband and I looked at several reception sites before deciding on Castleton, and we are very happy about our decision. For the scenery, location, and value, Castleton cannot be beat. We were privileged to work with Stephanie throughout our wedding planning process. She is absolutely amazing. Every time I had a question or concern, she was very quick to respond. Stephanie is professional, easy to work with, organized, and responsive. I could not be more pleased with the assistance she provided my husband and me both planning the day and hosting the event without a glitch. We received many compliments on the venue and the food. All food was served hot, and the appetizers were delicious. Seriously consider having your wedding at Castleton if you are planning on getting wed in southern NH.

I was hestitant to book a banquet facility but the staff was great, the prices were right in our budget (we could even afford an open bar for the whole night, major bonus!) and the grounds were beautiful. The staff was very responsive to any questions I had. Since the moment we booked Castleton after attending a bridal show there, we knew we made the right choice. Dawn was always there to explain the wedding process, answer any question no matter how silly you think it is, and even add on a last minute gluten free meal. We felt that right away our wedding was going to be a success, and we were right.

Dawn and Stephanie are wonderful, you couldn’t ask for better people to work with on your wedding day. Stephanie went above and beyond to make sure the day was a success. They coordinate everything so perfectly that everything ran smoothly. The food was wonderful, the location beautiful, and we are still getting great feedback from our guests. Castleton also offers great “off season” packages, and recently did some beautiful renovating. I would highly recommend Castleton if you are looking for perfection on your wedding day!

Castleton was the perfect spot for a wedding. The staff was wonderful to work with. They were all very professional. We had our daughters wedding there on New Years Eve, the dance floor was huge, the bars well attended and the table service was excellent. We had the pork, chicken and beef...all were great....and we had many comments on the pork. We did some of their vendors, video, photographer and linens...we enjoyed working with them as well. We had no cake and dealt with our own florist and band, however we were told by evey vendor that they found dealing with Castleton to be as easy as we did. We had our own church but they have plenty of room for a ceremony. If you would like something they don't offer...simply ask...they got us everything we needed to make the evening wonderful.

I was so impressed throughout the entire day of my wedding with Castleton's service. I have not heard a complaint from any of my guests either. It was everything I wanted and I think I knew it would be from the start.

I truely had the most amazing wedding at the Castleton! We got married outside in the garden area which is right on the water with beautiful landscaping all over. The hall inside was beautiful and comfortable. We had a family style dinner which everyone raved about. Our host, Melissa, was on top of everything all day, it was like I had hired her seperately to be my own wedding coordinator! If I needed anything, she was right there, including helping me to the bridal suite when I could hardly walk anymore so I could take off my uncomfortable shoes! She was just fantastic! When we were planning our wedding, we had every intention of spending $1000-$2000 on uplighting because that was the effect we wanted at our reception, but shortly after booking the Castleton, they purchased their own! We didn't have to spend the extra money on uplighting and the room was just magical. I can not say enough good things about them! They made my day just perfect!!!

Dawn, Donna and Stephanie were unbelievable, very organized, professional, accomodating, flexible. You could call them a million times and they would always get back to you immediately. My family and extended family felt they bent over backwards to insure that everything was perfect. The grounds are beautiful. The food, the sundae bar was classy. Perfect lighting. Handicap bathroom. They really thought of everything. My daughter and now son in law really bonded with Dawn and Stephanie (who they never knew before) and I feel they will now be friends for ever. We looked at similar places in the area, and felt that all the services provided were equal to more expensive places. It's great for pictures and the staff was wonderful. If we had the day to do over again we would still pick Castleton.

Castleton was absolutely gorgeous! The whole bokking and planing process was very easy, the people there were so accomodating and helpful. The hostess did an amazing job making sure my day went smoothly and without any problems. The food there is delicious! Overall it's a perfect place to get married!!

Beautiful place for a wedding! I got married on the grounds, and I have the most beautiful backgrounds in all of my pictures. The appetizers are delicious. I just wish I could go back to my wedding day and be able to be part of the entire appetizer hour instead of taking pictures. Ha Ha Ha.

The reception was supposed to start at 6 but the ceremony ended early and they allowed people into the hall at 5pm instead and we weren't charged extra. Also, they have a high quality for the price. It was great. The total price was for an hour of open bar, food, and the hall.

They were really nice! Love Dawn, she is such a peach! Caitlyn (may have spelled that wrong) got a little snippy with my bride to be, and they failed to keep the door closed so she wouldn't see me walking down the aisle. Which really upset my bride. But, my mother left my bouquet at the hotel and they were able to help by giving me a left over bridesmaid bouquet from the wedding the night before. Also, they didn't set things out how we asked. I think if you wrote down what you wanted, it'd be best! Totally recommend these guys! Gorgeous views, beautiful scenery, good food, friendly staff....so much to love!

So far we have been working with Dawn and she has been amazing. She always responds to all of my questions. They have worked with us on the menu to get exactly what we want for our reception. We just had our food tasting, and everything was delicious. I can't wait for our big day!

Food was out of this world! my only compliant is that my groom & I got 4 appetizers out of the whole cocktail hour. They set up a food table for us but it was no where close to where we were taking photos & our general guests were eating from it. Other than that they were 5 stars all around!

Oh my gosh! I can't say enough about Castleton, they had been fantastic since day one. My husband and I were looking for a venue that gave us an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. Castleton was perfect, and also provides indoor options for the ceremony in the case of rain, which definitely helped with nerves. They responded to any email or question within 24 hours, which was awesome, and for the price we got way more than we ever could have hoped. Dawn, Stephanie, and Katelyn were amazing, and so helpful with everything leading up to the wedding. On the day of, Katelyn was an amazing host, and made sure that everything went off perfectly. If there was an issue, we never knew about it, and it was taken care of long before it was a problem.

The quality of service at the Castleton was excellent overall. We had our wedding outside but the forecast was predicting rain for the wedding. At the rehearsal Mellisa, my coordinator at the Castleton, explained all possible options and remained very flexible and we were able to have the option of calling our decision as late as an hour before the ceremony. It did not rain and the grounds were amazing. Dawn was always prompt at calling or emailing me back when I had questions and did whatever she could to help me out. Definately great value and great food for the cost. An excellent variety of meal options too!

Everything was perfect at Castleton from start to finish! Dawn was professional and accommodating at all times. There are so many options to personalize your wedding and make it your own. Castleton Was Fantastic, However They Recommend The Most Expensive Vendors Shop Around Please And Bring In Your Own Vendors, 1500.00 For A DJ Is Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!

Castleton is a wonderful place to have your wedding. They are not a hotel or country club, that happens to do weddings; they actually specialize in weddings and functions, and because of that they give you personalized service and attention, and really know what they are doing.
I looked at 37 wedding venues before choosing Castleton. Yes, you heard me right- 37! So you know it has to be good. It was actually the 2nd venue I looked at, but the first time I looked at it I saw the function hall when it was divided into 2 half halls, and I wasn’t crazy about the way that looked. When I looked at it a second time, it was set up for a function in their ¾ hall, which I thought looked so much better. On yet another visit later (after I had booked Castleton) I saw the room without any divider- with the whole room open- and I thought it looked more like the grand ballroom that I visualized for my wedding day, so then I wanted that for my reception. Luckily because I had my wedding on a Sunday, I had the venue to myself and was able to use the whole room. It holds up to 500 people so they were afraid it might look empty with my numbers (180 guests), but it actually looked great, and to me was so much more preferable than the way a divider looks.
The first day I toured at Castleton, Stephanie showed us around, and from the beginning I loved her. She was just so warm and helpful. She continued to be amazing throughout the year leading up to my wedding- never getting sick of my emails, always welcoming questions and assistance, and always accommodating and easygoing. She ended up being the hostess the day-of my wedding and did an outstanding job under tough circumstances. I really wanted an outdoor wedding ceremony for my August wedding, and unfortunately there was a chance of showers on my day. I should have prepared myself mentally for the possibility of going inside, but it was so hard for me because one of the main reasons I chose Castleton was to have that water view and the beautiful garden ceremony I dreamed of. We ended up going outside for ceremony, and although it did drizzle a little towards the end of it, it was not too bad. Stephanie let us wait until half an hour before the ceremony to make the call (because the florist needed the heads up to set up) and she was on the ball and professional the whole time, never letting her stress (if she had any) show. She really ran her butt off the whole day and worked so hard to ensure everything went smoothly. What impressed me even more is how young she is and how well she can manage weddings at her age. She also did an outstanding job decorating our entry table with our place cards, guest book, gift card box, etc. It looked so pretty.
Dawn was often more business-like and curt when we communicated. My mom was unhappy with some of the extra charges she tried to tack on, as well. Be aware that you could sign your contract with the meal prices for one year and that those meal prices go up annually. Donna, who I communicated with less frequently, was easy to deal with and professional.
One of the things that I think could be improved at Castleton is that there is not one person that you can communicate with when you are planning your wedding there because they each handle different areas. This caused messages to, at times, not get passed on to the right person, and so miscommunications sometimes arose.
One of the plusses at Castleton is that up-lights are included. This is not the case at most venues, and can be a bigger extra expense, so having this included was a great perk.
The food at Castleton ranges from very good to great. The penne pasta appetizer with garlic-pesto cream sauce was delicious, as was the brownie sundae. The salmon was also excellent. The prime rib varied from person to person- some people had better cuts than others, which is a common occurrence when you make beef in bulk. Despite us moving around rapidly to different locations for photos during the cocktail hour, they did a great job of following us with the hors d’oeuvres, which were all very tasty, as well. From what I experienced the drinks were great, too. My dad was upset that a certain liquor he wanted was missing, so I would recommend going through any favorite liquors with Castleton to be sure they are available for your event.
One thing I should mention, though- it is hard to taste the food at Castleton before your event, as you cannot have one tasting where you can try everything at once like most venues/ caterers provide. They have you taste the entrees you are interested in the next time they are served at a wedding, but you have to wait your turn as the brides with the closest upcoming weddings get first dibs. So you may have to return several times to get to taste a few different entrees.
I think Castleton’s greatest asset is their grounds; they are so well manicured and maintained. The flowers are just beautiful and the grass is so green. It really makes for gorgeous pictures, which is why the risk of rain on your wedding day at Castleton is a reality you need to think about whether you can handle. The lobby is also really nice with the piano and waterfall and flowers. The function hall is pretty, but not spectacular. It can definitely be dressed up, though, with the right linens, flowers, and decorations. With the affordability of the venue, you should have some money left over to do this. Some areas inside look a little dated, such as the bridal suite, but they are starting to re-vamp things, and recently re-did their main sign and awning.
Overall, Castleton is really affordable for the food, service, and beauty of the venue. I am really glad I went with Castleton and thank them for letting me get my dream outdoor wedding ceremony by the water despite impending rain, and excellent service on the day to make my wedding so enjoyable.

The castleton is a very well organized venue and provides excellent service. The night of our wedding, we had unexpected weather, moving our ceremony inside. My wedding coordinator Melissa was great at keeping us informed and calm. If it wasn't for the 18 inches of snow in October, No one would have known that there was a glitch in our day. We are very grateful for everything that Castleton did for us. The food is incredible and the value for what you get is outstanding.

Request Dawn Reckar and Steph. They are a great team. They were so flexible in allowing many vendors and letting us add a ton of personal touches. We looked at the Park Plaza in Boston and loved it. Then we went to Castleton. At first I really wanted the Park Plaza - but i will be honest - we were able to have a balloon drop, photobooth, champagne handed to each guest when they walked in, tons of food, 3 dinner choices, pictures before the ceremony on their property, New Years Eve Garb handed to each table at Midnight.... we had sooo much. And you just cant get that at the Park Plaza unless you spend an additional 30k. You are nuts if you do not at least look here.

Castleton's grounds are very well kept and they allow photos anywhere you'd like. The dinner was delicious and they were great accomidating us with special meals. They were pretty reasonable on the prices for everything except for the liquor and wine on the table situation. Wine on the table was extremely overpriced and if you want to have a particular wine at your wedding- this is not the reception site for you! Overall, Castleton was a great venue and they were great over the whole year in dealing with everything and organizing everything. The staff was very nice.

The location is gorgeous, the people are very nice, the food was excellent but there were a few gliches in the system that should never have been an issue. That's why you go to a professional function hall instead of your local VFW or Elks.
