Amazing! Beautiful. Stunning 11/10!

I had my wedding on April 2, 2022. I could not have been any more pleased with the service and experience I was given. From beginning to end it was perfect. Joanne Kreise, Event Manager was there to guide me and was extremely down to earth, we all felt like she was family to us!! The staff was great and the rooms are beautiful. We traveled from ny/ Boston and will be forever talking about our wedding. It was simply stunning. I had the best vendors that Joanne recommended, my wedding planner was Cococluna, and my photographer was Laura Palacios, makeup: Jaz.mua on IG, and hair sarah baker, Daniel Lamey for Officant, all that entertainment for dj.. isnt she lovely florals…. Casa y bel only allows professionals in their center… from beginning to END casa y bel provided an amazing wedding for me. Joanne will be there for you if you are lucky enough to meet her! I also hosted my welcome party the night before upstairs which was awesome!! And after the weddinf was over we rented the bar inside for more drinks partying and pizza:) which i highly recommend!!!!!! pictures for this place do not do Justice, and the FOOD is amazing! I loved the chef! And our guests loved the pool bar all weekend!

Picture Perfect

We searched many venues in our quest for a destination beach wedding. We live in Illinois, and had to plan everything from a far. When we saw Casa Ybel, we knew this was the place. Nothing else compared to the luxury and beauty of this venue!

Jessica and Joanne, and all the staff that we came into contact with, including Robert at the Thistle lodge, were phenomenal. We decided on a beach side ceremony, with a patio cocktail hour, and dinner upstairs in the waterfront room.

JoAnne was very helpful and communicative during the entire planning process. She even picked me up from my room and drove me and my daughter to the ceremony site in a golf cart so we didn’t have to walk and be seen. She and her staff also set up all of our decor, and did a beautiful job.

The food was fantastic. All of our guests raves about everything…from the shellfish bar at cocktail hour, to their main course. The serving staff was excellent.

We can’t wait to go back and celebrate our anniversaries here! It will forever be one of our favorite places.

Beach Wedding

We had such a great experience with Joanne at Casa Ybel . She was so attentive to everything we wanted, easy to work with and professional. She made our wedding FUN and STRESS-FREE ! She provided anything and everything we needed although we chose to keep it simple. She handled my family and friends perfectly and gave us everything we asked for on this day . From the perfect beach wedding , to a Beautiful dinner at the Thistle Lodge, we could not have asked for anything more!! The resort was picture perfect and the restaurant had the best food ! We look forward to anniversary’s there every year ! When it comes down to choosing Casa Ybel and Joanne for picking your wedding, We recommend them highly!

Married 4/7/21 can’t say enough about how beautiful Casa Ybel is and how outstanding the wedding coordinator Joanne was thru the entire process. What a huge help with every little detail. Then on to the dinner wow top of the charts unbelievable food to die for can’t wait to celebrate our anniversary there. 5 stars + to the entire event from planning to the big day.

The most beautiful wedding Venue!

The second I stepped foot on the property I knew this was the venue! 🥰 The views are breathtaking and the food is TOP NOTCH! Whether you’re looking for a beach wedding or a wedding filled with lush greenery, Casa Ybel truly has it all! Joanne and Jessica did a beautiful job helping me every step of the way throughout our whole wedding process! They are so accommodating and genuinely care that your wedding day go off exactly how you envision it. We held our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception here and they put on each event to perfection! Once we arrived on site, every staff member was courteous and helpful. Did I mention the landscape is beautiful in photos?! Our whole day felt luxurious and to perfection! Our guests are still raving about how beautiful our wedding was and how the food was the best they have eaten at a wedding. Thank you Joanne and Casa Ybel for making our wedding day so magical! We cannot wait to stay again and relive such a beautiful day!

Amazing experience!!

We chose Casa Ybel resort kind of on a whim. We wanted a destination wedding, went and saw the venue which looked great but the day of could not have been imagined. The weather was perfect, Tori paid attention to every detail and set up my decorations better than I could have. The responsiveness of the staff leading up to the wedding day was excellent especially being miles away in Indiana. Contact is mostly via email but she answered every question I had. She helped me a lot with vendor choices which was great, and she chose very well! I could not thank her and everyone enough for making our day perfect!!

I would pick them again!!

Incredible views, beautiful beaches, gorgeous rooms and super fun staff! We knew this was our place the moment We saw it. Our wedding on 2-9-19 was a dream come true. Tori brought my nautical vision to life and my guests were blown away by how gorgeous it was. Jessica was above and beyond also and Tori is the best at what she does. We plan to stay here every year on our anniversary.

A dream come true!

i read reviews and saw photos of this venue on the internet. I was not disappointed.

I dealt with Jessica over the phone regarding my wedding. I had never been to Sanibel and did not know what to expect. She was very helpful and had great suggestions and ideas. I highly recommend Casa Ybel. Everything discussed was as planned and the private room in the restaurant where we had our dinner afterwards was perfect. Great service and food!

Having our wedding at Casa Ybel was a dream come true. Our wedding, with about 55 guests, was held on May 5th, 2018. We had our ceremony on the beach with cocktail hour on the patio and the reception upstairs in the Waterfront Room. Everything was absolutely amazing. There was rain the day of the wedding, so I was super nervous I wouldn't be able to have the ceremony outside, but thankfully it cleared up just in time for the ceremony! The reception room was perfect for my size wedding and looked so beautiful. I can not say enough about working with Tori. She is absolutely amazing. She responded to my countless emails, any freakout moments I had, and helped keep me organized and calm during the whole process. She helped me plan every single aspect of the wedding and made sure everything ran smoothly the day of. She even bustled my dress! I cannot thank Tori, and the entire staff at Casa Ybel , enough for making our wedding better than we could have ever imagined!

Casa Ybel flawlessly executed our wedding. Tori was responsive, kind, and flexible. The entire staff was exceptional, and the venue and setting- breathtaking. Simply AMAZING! We worked with Tori for our destination wedding and she was so helpful, it took away any of the worries I had about planning from a distance. Quick to respond to my, sometimes numerous, emails Tori made sure everything was perfect. The entire wedding weekend was simply amazing. The grounds of Casa Ybel were beautiful; you'd hardly know Hurricane Irma had hit less than an month before. All of the staff went above and beyond and the food was outstanding. Our guests are still talking about how our wedding was they've been too! Our day was perfect and I cannot say enough good things about Tori and the staff.

We had an intimate wedding on Oct 21. Tori and the staff catered to our every request while juggling so many other high priority events. We were treated exceptionally well and could not have requested a more breathtaking venue. We also had the opportunity to stay at the resort for a few nights. Wonderful beach facing suites. No complaints at all. Casa Ybel made our entire wedding vision become a reality. Perfect for a party of 16 or 160. Can't wait to visit again.

We can't thank the entire staff at Casa ybel enough for helping us make our dream wedding a reality. It was more than we ever could've imagined. Tori was absolutely wonderful from the very first email. She made sure everything ran perfectly. I wasn't stressed or worried, I knew she was taking care of every little detail. Planning a destination wedding from Minnesota wasn't easy. It's hard to hope everything turns out the way you want it by communicating via email & phone. But she made it happen. Jeremy was amazing the day of our wedding. He checked on us all the time & truly seemed to care about us. Every single staff we met went above our expectations & made our wedding perfect. Everyone was so nice, professional & helpful. All of our guests said it was the best wedding & I couldn't agree more! Casa ybel is the perfect place for a destination/beach wedding. We can't wait to come back every year on our anniversary! And we will without a doubt recommend Casa ybel for future events & vacations.

I had my destination wedding at Casa Ybel on May 21, 2016, and it was absolutely everything I dreamed of and more! The resort itself is absolutely stunning: the grounds are beautifully manicured and lush, creating a gorgeous tropical setting right on the beautiful white sand beaches. The pool area is also a lot of fun and a great area to relax and unwind, while the staff at Coconuts Bar and Grill whip up some delicious cocktails and food! And although the suites are a bit pricey, they are well worth the money. They are extremely spacious, beautifully appointed, and they ALL have full kitchens and wonderfully large balconies (or patios) with lovely views of the water! I was originally a bit apprehensive of planning a wedding out of state, but Tori and Jessica are amazing at what they do. Every step of the way, Tori was extremely responsive and communicative with my countless questions and concerns. And on the day of our big event, everything from start to finish was flawlessly executed. We got married on the beach and had a beautiful tented reception on the lawn. The ONLY complaint I have about our day was the no-seeums that ate us and our guests alive. For those of you not familiar with these obnoxious bugs, they are basically the equivalent of sand fleas. Although there's not much you can do about nature, and Casa Ybel did provide a bug spray stand, I highly recommend Casa Ybel use fans to assist in keeping the bugs away from the tent during this time of year. We were horrified when a couple of our guests told us they ended up in urgent care in the following days because the no-seeum bites were so bad. Fans would also help to keep guests cool under the tent when the Florida humidity kicks in. Other than that, everything else was perfect. If you're looking for an extremely memorable and gorgeous location for your wedding in Florida, I highly recommend Casa Ybel. We can't wait to return for future anniversary celebrations!

We had a perfect small destination wedding on 5/14/16. Everyone we can in contact were great! Tori and Jessica were amazing. Tori made planning a long distance wedding seamless and painless. Most if not all of the planning was done via email since my schedule and the time difference made it difficult for any in person or phone conversations. Casa Ybel's staff are PROS at helping you get things done and took care of everything. As for the catering staff If you happen to get Jeremy and Jackie you are in great hands they are amazing and will take great care our you. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone considering a destination wedding. The landscaping in amazing. I am a beach girl through and through, however very partial to botanical wedding photos in addition to beach photos, This place had both and I could not have been happier. Thanks you Casa Ybel resort for everything I can not say enough.

We just had our perfect destination wedding on 11/6/15 at the beautiful Casa Ybel. I am so happy we decided to have our wedding here and couldn't have been more pleased with the way everything turned out. Tori was absolutely amazing! She was quick to respond to my emails and phone calls and always friendly and professional. She took care of everything! This destination bride didn't have to worry about anything and really didn't feel stressed. It was wonderful knowing that everything was taken care of. Our guests are still raving about how much they loved the resort. Every staff member we came in contact with was wonderful. The food was very good and everything was served in a timely manner. I have zero complaints! The wedding was everything I could have hoped for and more!

Casa Ybel Resort is not only a beautiful place to have a wedding, but it is a memorable place to have one. I could not be happier in my decision to book this resort as my wedding venue. It was the perfect place for my fairytale wedding. Not only is it a stunning location, but the staff is kindhearted and professional, the food is superb, the wedding coordinator is sweet and talented, and the list goes on! After taking a month or two off planning my wedding due to a nightmare disaster situation with a sham of a wedding planner in St. Croix USVI, I was fortunate enough to stumble upon Casa Ybel Resort in sunny Sanibel Island.

Right from the start of communicating with Jessica Pasek, I knew I was in great hands! Jessica put me in contact with Tori Weatherford, her Wedding Coordinator, and it was so enjoyable & seamless the rest of the process. I had SO much fun collaborating and communicating with Tori -- planning a destination wedding can be unnerving and stressful, but working with these two girls and the rest of the staff at Casa Ybel made it so fun, fulfilling and memorable. My Husband (who had never visited the Island or Resort before our Wedding weekend) is a very tough critic and he along with ALL of our guests were raving about the beautiful, warm & sweet staff and venue. Loved every second of it -- cannot wait to go back for our anniversaries!

I planned my wedding in five months and chose Casa Ybel. Other than my husband, it was the best decision I ever made. I was uncertain of how to proceed with the planning, as I am from New York, but Tori Weatherford handled all of my inquiries - anytime-day or night. I realized that the florists, musicians and photographers book up years in advance of a wedding, but Tori guided me every step of the way -even to a dentist when my tooth chipped as I came off the plane the day before my wedding.

My wedding was last weekend and it truly was everything that I ever wanted and more. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Tori was on site and it ran so smoothly. I literally shipped boxes from NY and on the day of the wedding--I quickly gave Tori and Jeremy my ideas to execute my vision and without hesitation, they took control and got it done---exactly as I envisioned.

Our wedding party spent the weekend at Casa Ybel and Coconuts Tiki Bar. Chris the bartender was awesome! It was such a memorable weekend thanks to Tori and staff at Casa Ybel and Coconuts.

We actually did not get married here but went to a friends wedding at Casa Ybel. I just wanted to tell any brides to be what a wonderful place this is. I wish I would have known about them. Its a beautiful place. The food was fantastic and the service from the staff was top shelf. The photographer who was By Image Photography did some amazing photos on the beach. They did our wedding and we recommended them. So if you are looking for an amazing setting and top shelf service I would recommend you check out Casa Ybel!!

For any future bride evaluating venues to get married on Sanibel/Captiva Island, I would recommend to book Casa Ybel immediately. There are so many reasons that I am rating Casa Ybel 5/5: absolutely gorgeous lawn for an outdoor reception, many choices for ceremony location, the food is outstanding, and I cannot say enough great things about Tori, Jessica, and the entire Wedding/Catering team. Tori is the wedding coordinator and is an absolute PRO at what she does. When someone truly cares, it's apparent in the entire wedding planning process. Being a destination bride, I had no issues at all planning my wedding at Casa Ybel. It was amazing - thank you all for helping to make our wedding PERFECT!

We had the most stunning destination wedding at casa ybel. We did our ceremony on their gorgeous beach and then the intimate dinner package at thistle lodge. The staff was accommodating and exceeded our expectations. Coming from NY and having never been to sanibel we were nervous but we basically showed up and everything was taken care of for us! My experience with Casa Ybel resort and Lea O'Brien was wonderful! She was attentive to all of my needs and wants for my wedding and made sure I was completely satisfied. She stayed in excellent contact with me throughout the planning process and even met with me the day before the wedding during another event because we hadn't been able to connect via the phone during the week before my wedding. Casa Ybel is absolutely stunning and the employees helping out with my brunch reception at Thistle Lodge were amazing. Casa Ybel is a beautiful, boutique resort with old Florida style and ease. We had our ceremony on the lawn and the reception in the waterfront room above Thistle Lodge, both overlooking the ocean. It was absolutely breathtaking. The staff is kind and accomodating and made sure everything was set up on time and just as we wanted. I couldn't have felt more relaxed. Definitely the best venue for a stress free wedding.

My husband and I held our destination wedding at Casa Ybel on 10-6-12, but it wasn't just a one day affair. We had approximately (120) guests join us for a long wedding weekend. We hosted an outdoor welcome reception for all guests on Friday night and it was gorgeous- then the rain rolled in. Lea O'Brien and her staff didn't panic at all as they moved 100+ guests into the bar and restaurant. They transported the entire set-up, all the food, all the beverages and it was seamless. The night was perfect despite the weather and we owe it entirely to Lea and staff! Saturday the ceremony on the beach was perfect and the tented reception was flawless. The food was delicious and Lea was there behind the scenes creating the night of our dreams. We can't rave enough about how kind everyone at Casa Ybel is. They made us all feel so welcome and got to know us by name; we were so sad to see the weekend come to an end. I am in the events industry myself, so my expectations were beyond high for my wedding day. I can honestly say that my expectations were not only met but exceeded. I'd highly recommend holding your special event at Casa Ybel; I can't wait to go back!

SInce I can't put in my wedding a second time - I'm calling this my anniversary but it was really my wedding on the beach after I got married in church. The event was spectaular and it was great because of Lea O'Brien. She was wonderful to work with, so easy going and accomodating. They made my dream wedding come true and I can't thank her/them enough. The food was the best food I've ever had at a wedding, and the tent and decor was beautiful. I feel so lucky to have had my wedding there. Thank you again!!

I live in Las Vegas, and I have never been to Florida. In fact, I never even saw my Venue before the wedding. However, I was sold by the gorgeous pictures and great reviews of Casa Ybel. When we arrived, I immediately knew I made the right decision. Casa Ybel is a breath taking property. There are so many beautiful places for wedding photos, and the beach is so pristine. We plan to go back to Casa Ybel many times, and I would recomend this to anyone who wants their special day to be an elegant, beautiful, beach wedding.

Casa Ybel was the perfect venue for our wedding. The location is stunning. We loved working with Lea and the staff there to make our wedding day exactly what we wanted. It was perfect, even though Tropical Storm Debby tried to crash the party! We asked tons of questions throughout the wedding planning process, and Lea was always so responsive and thorough. We had almost 60 people at the wedding/reception, and the space in the Thistle Lodge was just right for the size of our wedding. Thanks for making our day so special!

Jessica and Lea were absolutley amazing. They made every effort to make sure our special day was perfect for us. Our wedding was more than I could have ever dreamed of.... INCREDIBLE!!! Lea went above and beyond, she even called me several times on the day of the wedding to see how I was doing and if I needed anything.

Our reception was upstairs at the Thistle Lodge. The food...... AMAZING!!! The only thing I would change would be to do it all over again.

I started out giving value only 4 stars, considering the amount of money we spent, (we also stayed at the resort). After thinking back on the memories that were created, I've decided it was worth every penny and more!!! The lifelong memories we will carry with us are priceless!! We loved the resort, Coconuts pool bar and everything Casa Ybel has to offer. EVERY staff member at the resort was kind and caring. I can't wait to go back next July for our first anniversary. Casa Ybel Resort will forever be a special place us. Thank you Jessica, Lea and everyone at Casa Ybel Resort.

We got married here in June 2011, and I could not have pictured a better place to have our wedding. The place is gorgeous, the service is impeccable and the accommodations are excellent. Jennifer did a fantastic job coordinating the ceremony and reception and was there to answer any question I had. Never having been to Sanibel, I was anxious about the location but it turned out to far exceed my expectations. Our guests were very impressed with the resort and the ceremony start to finish, and the reception food was well worth the cost. I highly recommend this resort, and my husband and I will certainly return!

We had our dream destination wedding at the Casa Ybel Resort on Sanibel Island and everything was prettier and went better than we could have ever imagined from the venue, to the food, all the way down to the weather!! We had our ceremony on the beach and our reception for 20 people on their covered lower patio just outside Thistle Lodge Restaurant. Jennifer & Jessica were amazing to work with and they made sure to get back to us no matter how big or small our question or concern. The food was fantastic, as well as all of the catering staff and everyone we worked with throughout the entire process. The resort provided a vendor list for our day, which we relied on heavily since it was a destination wedding, and every single vendor from the list was top notch and far exceeded our expectations!! The resort was extremely flexible even when changing last minute details. Brides, if you are looking for the perfect tropical setting and the perfect wedding on Sanibel, we would HIGHLY recommend Casa Ybel Resort!!!

We had our dream wedding at the Casa Ybel Resort on Sanibel Island. We had our ceremony on the beach and our reception in a tent on their backlawn. It is truly the ideal location for a tropical wedding. The food is amazing, as well as, the catering and serving staff! They truly helped my wedding go smoothly, and made it truly memorable.

Casa Ybel made a destination wedding very easy! Jennifer was extremely professional and very responsive. She answered each any every question, no matter how small. The resort was also very flexible when it came down to some of the details.

Also, the suggested vendor list provided was great! Sue at Signature Florals created gorgeous arrangements. Audrey Snow made sure each picture I requested was captured. The Vanderbilt Strings (provided through Talent!) were wonderful. Jennifer even recommended a bridal store, For the Bride, and they fixed my dress in one day!

I would highly recommend Casa Ybel.

In my biased opinion, Casa Ybel was the perfect place for our wedding. Jennifer and Jessica were fantastic to work with, and made the planning almost simple. They provided a great list of vendors, were fast to answer questions, and solved problems that I didn't know we had. Jennifer even hooked up her phone to the speakers when I forgot the music. Yes, I totally forgot the music. Luckily, we retreived the ipod, and the guests never knew what happened, thanks to Jennifer. The setting was perfection and the food was out of this world. Like I've said, I'm biased, because it was our wedding, but I have never seen a wedding more beautiful. The waterfront room is spectacular, it looks out over the ocean and has a feel you will not get at a big resort. It was intimate, charming, and the food was amazing. Did I mention the amazing food? Fantastic wedding, perfect setting, outstanding wedding coordinators; It's perfect.

Casa Ybel was a beautiful location with reasonable pricing. The wedding coordinator was really quick to answer any questions, and always got back with me. She was knowlegeable, and even offered advice if I asked! We had lots of positive comments from people who attended our wedding, and they loved Casa Ybel. We had a few requests for our event, and Casa Ybel did their best to do everything we asked. Overall, we were very pleased with the coordinators and staff.

My husband and I fell in love with Casa Ybel the minute we saw the place!! Jessica and Jennifer were so helpful that with everything that we couldn't have asked for anything more on our wedding day. Plus the food is absolutely the best food ever!! Brides to be you � I highly recommend that Casa Ybel is the best place to have your wedding!

Jessica and Jennifer at Casa Ybel were very professional and responsive to all my questions prior to the wedding and answered all the questions within 24 hours. If they were on vacation, their voicemail and email was always were set to let me know.

Jennifer at Casa Ybel was very helpful at coordinating the events of the wedding day for me. She even went above and beyond and helped me find some decorations that I was looking for a couple of months before the wedding! Also, Jennifer went out of her way on our special day to help me with some decorations that were forgotten. � I had forgot some candles and reserved table sign for the wedding party. Jennifer had some extra candles and a table sign that she put up for me an hour before the wedding!!

It was a very windy day on our wedding day and Jessica at Casa Ybel helped me very much to made sure my dress did not drag on the grass and tucked my veil in so it didn�t blow in my face while I was walking down the aisle with my dad. Her help with my veil just made me realize how much she cared about making our wedding day special!

We were so pleased on how everything went on our wedding day! Casa Ybel resort is beautiful but Jessica and Jennifer made Casa Ybel the perfect wedding place for us! They are terrific ladies to work with! Thank you Jennifer and Jessica!!

The staff at Casa YBel made my day everything I had hoped for and so much more. They thought of EVERYTHING for me. It was as if they could read my mind and see my "vision". Jessica and Jennifer are the most professional, sweet, creative ladies, couldn't ask for anything more!!

My husband and I just had our destination wedding at Casa Ybel on April 6, 2017, and I still can't stop smiling about how perfect our day was! Even though we were mostly communicating through email and telephone calls, Tori did an excellent job of making my vision come true! All we had to do was tell her what we wanted, and she made it happen! We had our ceremony on the beach, our cocktail hour on the pool patio, and our reception in the Waterfront Room, and each setting was beautifully decorated and our guests were kept comfortable and happy. Now let's talk about the food...outstanding! I had the steak and my husband had the salmon and WOW! It was amazing! Since there were a lot of non-drinkers among our guests, we were able to negotiate a wine-and-beer only alcohol package and saved a lot of money. I also ordered a lot of decorations from Etsy, and Tori (and her crew) had them all set up in artful ways without my family or I having to lift a finger on the morning of the wedding. In short, my wedding was everything we had ever dreamed of, and so much of it is thanks to Casa Ybel!

It has taken us awhile to settle back down and get around to writing reviews for our wonderful vendors. We had to start with our ceremony and reception spot, Casa Ybel Resort. Without them, our wedding would not have been as perfect as it was. There were a lot of hiccups in our day (parents stranded in blizzard, couldn't make it down, favors got held up in the mail, dress incident the day before the wedding, etc). I was a wreck leading up to my day because of everything that went wrong. Thankfully, the staff at Casa Ybel made me feel so secure that nothing else would go wrong, and took care of everything for me. The planner calmed me down and put me at ease before walking down the aisle She even told me a joike to make me laugh rather than cry, since I wasn't walking down the aisle with my Dad as planned. Everything, from start to finish about the day at the resort was perfection. The resort is gorgeous, and very well maintained. The grounds are just lovely. The food was amazing, and the presentation was phenominal. The staff was beyond professional and accomidating..they were just so sweet and took such good care of us. I know they were aware of our special situation, and they were just so senstive to it, by the end of the night we forgot everything that went wrong! Thanks again to Casa Ybel, and the great staff for making such a terrible few days, turn into the most magical and fantastic night of our lives to date!

Casa Ybel is a beautiful resort and great for a wedding. It had a very private and intimate atmosphere even when the resort was completely booked to capacity. The wedding coordinators were very responsive to all my questions and even offered up advice on things I had not considered.

Booking our intimate wedding at Casa Ybel was the best decision we ever made! The staff was patient, knowledgable, and overall amazing. Everything the day of the wedding was perfect, from the site, the set-up, the location, the food, everything! We continue to get compliments from our guests that this wedding was hands-down the best wedding they had ever been to! Looking back, we would not have changed a thing. The value for the money we paid was beyond exceptional, and Jennifer Dube and her staff were outstanding! I recently had an intimate wedding of just 12 people at Casa Ybel. My wedding coordinator was originally Lea O'Brien but was switched to Tori Weatherford. Lea was very knowledgeable, but I got the sense that my wedding wasn't a high priority. Tori was GREAT and I'm glad that I had her as my wedding coordinator the last few weeks leading up to my wedding.

For the wedding, I had requested an iPod player but learned that the staff at Casa Ybel do not play the iPod player and that I needed to get someone in my family to play the music. I was somewhat stressed by this but after meeting with Tori, we figured things out. The music turned out well and we had no problems during the ceremony.

One thing I will note is that the day of the rehearsal, I got about 10-15 bites on my legs from no-see-ums while on the beach. They weren't kidding about the bug spray - if there is no wind, you will need to apply bug spray with deet to keep bugs away. Luckily the day of the ceremony, it was breezy and my guests and I didn't have any issues.

The reception was very nicely decorated and the food was good. Had beef and lobster tail as the main entree; the portion size was very generous. The cake was also very tasty and nicely decorated. The only critique I have about the food is that I think the meal was supposed to come with chocolate covered strawberries but we never got them. I wasn't hungry and didn't even remember the strawberries until the next day but it would have been nice to eat them.

Overall, I had an AMAZING day. Everything went smoothly and staff were very friendly. Even though I had an extremely small wedding with only twelve people (including me and the groom) and was on a tight budget, Jessica, Tori, and the staff at Casa Ybel ensured my day was extremely special. I would recommend this to anyone looking to have a destination wedding of any size.

I chose Casa Ybel for my May destination wedding & it turned out to be a perfect day! First of all Jessica & Jennifer were so professional and helpful throughout my entire planning process! They also made my planning pretty easy, giving me great recommendations for vendors (who turned out great). There were so many great places to take pictures on the grounds! They keep it up so well! We had almost 60 people and at first I was afraid that we would be crowded in the waterfront room, but it worked out great, we had 6 tables and a sweetheart table and it looked great! My 1 complaint for the entire day was during cocktail hour, staff passed out orderves, and I was told by a few of my guests that they were allowed 1 each, and that a server even told them "You cannot have another...They are for the Bride & Groom". I would rather my guests eat than me! So I made the decision since the food was gone to move up the reception by 20 minutes and shortly after that dinner was served! Which ALL of my guest LOVED! The Dinner was Very Good! I would highly recommend Casa Ybel to any bride! If you are looking for a beautiful place to get married on Sanibel-This is the place!

Our reception at the Casa Ybel Resort was absolutely perfect. The staff was very attentive to our guests and the food was excellent. Location is perfect with beautiful views and landscape. Great location for wedding pictures. Would definitely choose this location again. My family and friends are still raving about it saying it was the best wedding that they have ever attended and the food was so delicious that they are planning on vacationing there later on this year.

The staff at Casa Ybel did everything that they could to make our day special and unique! It was a leap of faith to have our wedding at a resort that we'd only read reviews about and seen pictures of but it was so worth it! The food was AMAZING! Jennifer the planner was so helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and we couldn't have done it without her. She was a pleasure to talk to even when the priest kept talking and talking and talking before I got to walk down the aisle. Could not have picked a more gorgeous site and view. Thistle Lodge food was great but guests felt a little rushed --- this may have been due to lateness caused by priest-- but every time someone put something down and got up to dance, it was gone when the guest returned to the table!!!

I am very happy that I chose Casa Ybel as my Wedding venue. Tori, the coordinator, is responsible and professional. Everything that was promised was fulfilled and my wedding was beautiful. My only complaints are that Casa Ybel is very small and getting rooms for my guests was like pulling teeth. Also, it feels like they up-charge you for almost everything so the whole "all-inclusive" idea isn't really the case once you start actually getting into the planning with them. Overall, they took good care of us, our wedding was awesome, & we spent about 2K of extra money towards the venue that we didn't anticipate when we signed the contract.

The room for the intimate package is quite small. There were only 18 of us in there and it was very tight. One of guests chairs at the table was extremely close to some stairs. We finally turned our music off as between the steel drums from another wedding outside and the piano player in the bar you couldn't hear it anyway. The room is only shut off by some curtains so you get a lot of bar noise. The staff was very helpful and accommodating throughout the planning and the event however and it was a beautiful time.

There are two pieces to this: the wedding itself, and the stay ...

The wedding was BEAUTIFUL. I was very happy with things overall. The food at the reception was amazing, and I got many compliments, including people saying it was hands down the best wedding food they had ever had. Tori was very sweet and helpful. However, there were some things lacking. I paid to rent the BOSE, and was never told (until I asked) that I would have to have one of my GUESTS play the music. I didn't think it was fair to ask my guests to do this, as they were there to attend the wedding, not have a job, but she did not offer up any other options. I was given the BOSE 5 minutes before the start of the ceremony, and my friend had a hard time getting it going. It all worked out, but my ceremony was only about 15 minutes long - I'm just not sure why they couldn't find someone to play the 3 songs for me.

Tori was very helpful with helping me meet the needs of my gluten-free and alcohol-free guests. However, not everything translated as I had hoped to the servers. Just make sure to be very clear about your expectations with any special requests and make sure they are properly related to the servers.

Despite those issues, the ceremony was beautiful, the service was wonderful, everyone was super sweet and helpful, and I could NOT have asked for a better view for the dinner. Overall, I look back at my wedding and say "it was perfect."

Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the stay. While the rooms at Casa Ybel are very nice, when I pay $600 a night, I expect the best. Instead, I had a clogged bath drain, which never got fixed even though I requested it ON MY WEDDING DAY, and we found undergarments left behind in the closet. We were given $50 for this (gee, thanks) and when we tried to speak to someone in charge (Amy) she was NOT helpful and just looked at us like - too bad, so sad. I will NOT be staying there again.

We enjoyed our reception at the Casa Ybel. We had an amazing time and the service and staff were wonderful. The room was cute and Jennifer set the room up for us. The food was amazing and the site that the Casa Ybel is on is perfect. There were so many places to take pictures, unlike other places in the area! The photographer we had couldn't get over all the places he was able to choose from for his shots. My husband and i always talk about how the place was so perfect. We never saw the place before we our wedding day due to us having a destination wedding. Jennifer was great to work with and responded to all of our questions in a timely manner. We loved working with her!! We highly recommend this place!!

We had our wedding on Sunday. Our coordinator disappeared which lead to a mess of no one knowing what was going on the entire reception. We had hired a guitarist to play, and the resort decided that they should have their own guitarist playing not even 20 ft away from where ours was performing. The beach was not closed off to beach goers so we had people walking throughout our reception and ceremony. The pool next to our patio reception was open so you could hear everything going on throughout the entire event. It was beautiful scenery and the food was delicious, but the fact that no one knew when we were having our first dance, cutting the cake, or anything else is what really threw me over the edge. Our guests wanted to be involved in all of this but it was rushed and no one was making announcements. I would not recommend this resort for your wedding.

Our wedding turned out beautiful, however it was mostly due to the wedding coordinator we hired (Pat Slater), who was there the entire time and stayed till after our reception was over. She made sure everything went smoothly. I was not over impressed with the service we received from Casa Ybel staff. Our reception was upstairs above the Thistle lodge. Beware that this room is tiny and has no elevator. We had 60 people for dinner and dancing and we all barely fit. During the reception I had to remind them to bring out the Champagne for the toast and several people didn't get what they ordered for dinner. Also we paid for the premium liquor package, and I requested that Sauvignon Blanc be served instead of Chardonnay, but they gave us Pinot Grigio and said they didn't have Sauvignon Blanc as an option even though they have one on their menu.
However, the grounds and venue were beautiful and the ceremony and reception turned out wonderful. We also had our rehearsal dinner there on the back lawn. I don't recommend this for May. There were tons of tiny no-see-ums that bit everyone and made it very uncomfortable to be outside after sundown, even with using a ton of bug spray. Despite all this we are very happy with the overall outcome and do not regret our decision to have our wedding at Casa Ybel.

I felt for the money being charged by Casa Ybel for the wedding event that the wedding coordinators could have given the bride more attentiveness during the planning months as I had to constantly ask questions regarding the reception and how their procedures worked. Also was told at one point that they would not put out my favors and placecards and that I had to have a guest or family member do that. After I made a big deal of it then they offered to do it. And that is sometimes took days to get a response back on my questions. I also felt the Casa Ybel does not provide all the amenities to brides that other venues provide on your wedding day. But after getting through the planning process with the coordinators, the actual wedding day turned out perfect and the staff serving the food and drinks were very attentive during the reception and the location is beautiful for a beach wedding. The only flaw for the reception is that the dance floor and the reception room is very small for an indoor reception.

WORST WEDDING VENUE EVER!!!!BRIDES DO NOT BOOK HERE. Clearly, in my opinion, since the change in Event Planners from Lea to Victoria (Tori), Casa Ybel has gone severely down hill. The team is made up of the most rude, unprofessional people I've ever met. When she took over my wedding, 30 days before my wedding date, she changed my contract so that I had to pay taxes on 22% Gratuity which I believe is illegal- when questioned about it she changed the wording on the contract to "service charge"and added $5,500 in unapproved expenses to a new contract which I never saw or signed and swiped my card charging me without my authorization. My mother just met with the manager/director of Casa Ybel who confirmed that there should be no service charge and that this charge is all gratuity. I thought it was illegal to swipe someones credit card without their consent? without even a bill? Thankfully we had transferred accounts by then so the charge did't go through. More importantly, in the weeks leading up to my wedding, even up until the day before my wedding, Tori denied that we paid $1,500 of my $3,000 deposit even after showing proof of banking statements. She threatened to cancel my wedding, 5 days before my wedding, if we didn't pay this cost again, plus an additional $4,000 in extra fees that she took the liberty of adding to our contract which we never agreed to. When attempting to work this out, Tori refused to meet with me, my mother, or my fiancé, she would not return emails or phone messages, and told my planner that she "doesn't have to return our calls." Pay up or your wedding will be canceled, which is called EXTORTION. Also, when I arrived in my $700 room the toaster and coffee maker didn't work. My cousin in a neighboring $700 room who flew in from Boston was without power for 6 hours and had to go to my rehearsal dinner without even getting to shower. My quests were freezing at my wedding and they refused to provide us with the tent walls or heaters.
