Could eat that cake all day long!

Oh my goodness!!!! Carrot Tree did an AMAZING job - the cake was incredible and we also got a little plate with brownies and other sweet bars and that was also fabulous! I have nothing but good things to say about Carrot Tree.

Best Cakes for any event

We buy Carrot Tree cakes for every holiday. We live in the Williamsburg area but actually got married 3 hours away. We ordered unstacked cakes and drove them ourselves. It worked out great! They are the best cakes and we had so many people telling us how much they loved it at our wedding. Highly recommend!

My husband and I got married Dec 22 2018 at the Williamsburg White House Inn and our wedding cake was made from the Carrot Tree. We can both tell you that it was the best wedding cake we ever had tasted! Ours was the almond white cake. My only disappointment was that we didn't have a top tier to save for our first anniversary because we ate all of it! I highly recommend them for a wedding cake and I can not wait to come back for another one!

Amazing service and fantastic almond cake

I had the Carrot Tree kitchen, cater for a wedding reception and everything was very tasty and professionally done. They were on time with the delivery and the guests were very happy. I also ordered an almond cake for the cake boxes. This was the most delicious almond cake I have ever tasted. Everyone asked for more and to this date people are still talking about the cake. I have just ordered another one for our family Thanksgiving. Great job Carrot Tree, keep up the good work.

Most delicious cake ever

We had a great tasting with Carrot Tree and decided to choose them to make our wedding cake with pretty fours on the side. The almond cake with buttercream is the most delicious cake I've ever had. So good!! They were communicative and the final product was exactly as ordered.

They were very friendly and helpful with the cake consultation. They brought out a plate of all different cakes and fillings as well as a book showing different designs that people have done in the past. They delivered the cake and it looked great! We got so many complements on the cake from our wedding guests.

Carrot Tree Kitchens was the perfect place to order my wedding cake from!! We ended up getting a small carrot cake for ourselves and pound cake with lemon filling for the guests. Everyone mentioned how delicious it was and they were super easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this bakery.

So happy! I didn't do a tasting because I live out of town and couldn't fit it into our schedule - so I stopped by the shop and they were happy to give us some cake to take with us and taste. I chatted with the wedding cake designer on the phone and sent some photos that I liked but really gave very loose direction. It turned out perfectly! It was exactly perfect and so tasty! We can't wait to eat the layer for our anniversary!

Our cake looked amazing and tasted so good! We had an idea for our cake that was a little complex but they nailed it! We couldn't have been happier with our cake!

The cake was amazing! Beautiful and elegant, exactly what I wanted for my day. The people at the Carrot Tree were super helpful whenever I had any questions. The tasting was so much fun and the cake was just as delicious on my big day as I was when I tasted the sample (which by the way, was a whole cupcake. The Carrot Tree worked with me to make my vision a reality and I am so thankful for that.

When meeting with Carrot Tree Kitchens for our initial appointment, Debbie gave us wonderful samples. They were whole cupcakes to try--not just "bites" of cake. We really appreciated getting that!! Amber did a great job on my daughter's cake! We asked for something very unique and small; she gave us exactly what we asked for. We had them make carrot cake and chocolate cupcakes as the main cake for the guests; they were awesome as well. Their almond "Pretty Fours" are wonderful; they are smaller but absolutely tasty! Give Carrot Tree a try; we were so satisfied! Thank you Carrot Tree Kitchens!! :)

Carrot Tree Kitchens was very easy to work with! The cake was beautiful and tasted delicious. We picked the almond cake, and everyone kept talking about how delicious it was! They were so helpful offering suggestions and made our cake look exactly like the picture we provided as our inspiration - perfect!

Carrot Tree's cakes... oh my goodness... soooooo good! We had a small, almond flavored cake at our wedding because we were also bringing in cake pops from NC and let me tell you what... that cake was amazing!

It had a gorgeous damask design and was dense and flavorful. I just wish I could have had more than that one bite! I'm definitely looking forward to our one year anniversary so that I can pull the cake out of the freezer. The price was amazingly affordable, too. This is a great local establishment and you will be so happy with their cake!

I ended up ordering the groom's cake and cupcakes from Carrot Tree. My family is STILL raving about the cake and the cupcakes!!! They were fighting over them to take them home! Thank you all so much! Will surely be back to order more!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Carrot Tree. I have to say that I am a Carrot Tree NUT! I went to William and Mary and have eaten there for the past 14 years....there food has never disappointed, and their cupcakes are a slice of pure heaven! I was SO happy when I learned they were available for my wedding! They did two speciality cupcakes for our "cake topper," one for the bride and one for the groom. The rest they drizzled with our wedding colors. The cupcakes were the best part of the food the entire night! My husband and I enjoyed them so much we had two of them specially wrapped to take with us! We chose the chocolate with chocolate icing and chocolate with buttercream icing. We love their carrot cake cupcakes but wanted to avoid worrying about any nut allergies. Everyone loved them.

We used Carrot Tree Kitchens for our June 2008 wedding. I heard great reviews about their cakes, so my husband and I decided to look into them. We were not disappointed. The cake maker, Debi, was very help during our cake tasting. She provided us samples of all their flavors of cake, including their signature carrot cake. All the flavors were great, but we loved the carrot and almond flavor! Debi was able to make a 3-tiered square cake, with the top tier being carrot cake. She also made a chocolate groom's cake using a Texas shaped cake pan for my husband. Overall, we received great compliments about our cake. So much so, we tried to go back whenever we visit Virginia. Thanks Debi and all at Carrot Tree Kitchens!!

We love the Carrot Tree! I grew up in the area, and it's known locally for AWESOME carrot cake. They also got our attention when we were checking out cake vendors--they seated us at a table, poured glasses of water, and sat us down with (very generous sized) slices of cake and a photo album of their work. It was the most welcome I felt, even compared to some pricier cake shops. They have 4 cake flavors, and we used a combo of 3 of them in our wedding cake/groom's cake/"satellite" cake. All 3 (carrot, chocolate, and almond) were delicious. They seemed pretty flexible with decorating. We brought in a photo and they did a great job of replicating it. I think they'd be willing to work with a sketch or a description or whatever you bring to them too. They were very professional throughout, the cakes arrived on time, and we absolutely loved them. We considered some cheaper options (mostly grocery store bakeries) as well as some more expensive options in the area, and I'm really glad we chose them. We liked the cake itself better than any we tasted ANYWHERE. The decorating might not have been as fancy as some of the cake shops that do a lot of intricate and expensive fondant (and seem to focus more on look than cake taste/quality sometimes), but we were really happy with it.

We heard some mixed reviews about the Carrot Tree before deciding to use them, but I am so glad that we chose to use the Carrot Tree. Our cake really was delicious! We had more than enough for all of our guests. It was beautiful. Debbie has a limited number of choices but they had exactly what we were looking for. We had a layer of carrot cake (their specialty) and a layer of pound cake with lemon curd filling (our favorite). I also thought the cake held up well despite having to be moved around when a storm blew through and in the heat and humidity of being outside in June. We did get a chocolate mousse from our caterer to go along with the dessert and I'm glad we did. The guests got a little of all kinds of sweets.

My Maid of Honor and I met with Debbie at Carrot Tree for a cake tasting. I have to say we could not leave without purchasing cakes to take home. They are fantastic. I mean all of the flavors were wonderful but their signature carrot cake was to die for. Debbie was very helpful and listen to and met our cake needs.
We had a three tier round carrot cake with three cheese icing. Not one person said a bad thing about it. Even the DJ said of all the weddings he as been to (and it's been alot) this was the best wedding cake he has ever had. Thanks again to Debbie and Carrot Tree. We will certainly go back to get cakes for other occasions from them.

As soon as we got engaged, I knew I wanted a Carrot Tree cake for our wedding cake. The almond cake is AMAZING and we have gotten so many comments on how good it was. They were sometimes a little bit slow to respond to emails, but our finished product was great!

This cake was fabulous and I mean fabulous! I agree with the below review - if you want some plastic tasting fondant monster then don't come here. These cakes are moist, delicious, and beautiful and above all - SUPER GOOD. Those highly decorated cakes are expensive and taste like rubber and we were adamant we did not want that. The owner Debi really worked with us to create ideas so the cake was not only beautiful but delicious. She thought of every question to ask me so that I was prepared for what would happen on the big day and when I got there it was set up and perfect. These cakes are made fresh in the bakery and our main focus was on taste - the beautiful appearance was just a bonus.

Carott Tree has the best cakes ever! We had enough cake to feed 140 people and the cake was gone by the end of the night with only 110 guests. Everyone raved about the chocolate and carrot cakes. My only complaint is that the cakes had the wrong design. The design was the original design I picked out but they didn't incorporate the updated design I sent them months ago. The cakes were still gorgeous and yummy though so I'm happy! Def book carrot tree. Best cakes and desserts you'll ever have!

The cake was beautiful, and very good. We did have some hiccups to begin which mainly dealt with miscommunication regarding what we originally tasted and picked out, and would typically have a hard time getting anyone to call us back from Carrot Tree. We figured it out and everything came together very nicely. The owner is a little full of herself, hard to deal with, and can be pushy at times but the cake designer and creator was absolutely fabulous and great to work with. She was very nice, easy to work with, and was there to make us feel comfortable. If I had the choice, I would work with her from beginning to end. The cake was beautiful, very good, and they delivered on time with no flaws.

Amber was very nice and easy to work with. The cake was delicious and beautiful. Everyone talked about how delicious the cake was! The only reason they did not get a 5 star rating is because I called to ask to change some details and was told to email it to her. I did the emailing while I talked to her and a week later, I still had not heard from her and my wedding was less than a week away. I called and was told Amber was out for the entire week and would return the day before my wedding! Yikes!!! I wanted to make sure my changes were made. Amber did eventually call me and we worked it all out. I'm not upset that she had a few days off or was busy but that I never got confirmation that my changes were noted. Overall, a delicious and beautiful cake is what I wanted... And is what I got!

Carrot Tree Kitchens provided the catering for my rehearsal dinner and the wedding cake. The catering is simple, casual food, served buffet style with high-quality plastic plates, etc. We decided not to use them for the wedding itself because of we wanted nicer dinnerware. But the food was very good- especially the crab cakes- and we were very happy with the price and quality. I can't be sure about the service because my stepmother-in-law handled the ordering and delivery. Our wedding cake was amazing. Everyone said it was the best tasting cake they had ever had- quite unusual for a wedding cake- and it looked beautiful. They don't do the super-decorated, fondant covered monster that a lot of people look for in a wedding cake. But that's because fondant just doesn't taste as good, and Carrot Tree Kitchens is known for their wonderful cream cheese frosting. But they were willing to decorate just as we wanted, even though she said she hadn't done anything like it in a long time. The only problem was that the cake gradually started to lean during the reception and had to be disassembled before we were ready. But the taste more than made up for that, and a friend used them for a more elaborate, bigger cake a couple weeks before and had no trouble.

So, in summary: The taste of the cake will blow your guests away, and the staff will make sure they listen to your requests. This is a small business that only offers a few choices of flavor and frosting, but that's because they only serve cakes that they specialize in. I would let them know any concerns you might have about structural integrity- but I think our problem was a one-time thing. They also have good casual catering for an afternoon wedding or casual rehearsal dinner.

The cake that the carrot tree made was delicious. The process of getting a design that I wanted was a lot of work and my mum had to make the flowers for my cake because even though I was paying $450 got a cake, it wasn't enough to cover making flowers. It was a beautiful cake. Getting a hold of Debi was also a task as she is there only early in the day and usually very busy and I don't know if messages don't get passed along or what, but I rarely ever got contacted back.
