Absolutely wonderful and easy to work with
Carrie was absolutely amazing to work with! She was very responsive and she worked with us to create our ceremony exactly how we wanted it. During the wedding she was very friendly and got many compliments from our guests. People thought we had known her for years. I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking you won’t regret it! :) -

Carrie was perfect
We used Carrie to officiate our wedding in August. The first time we met her we knew within the first few minutes that she was the one to marry us. Every idea she presented to us was perfect for both of us and our beliefs. The vows, readings, and ceremony was perfect for us. Carrie added an extra special touch to our whole day with her calming and joyful presence. We had so many compliments on Carrie and our beautiful ceremony, I have already shared her information with others more than once. I would recommend her to anyone for any kind of ceremony.

Carrie is Wonderful!
Carrie was the perfect officiant for our wedding! We met her before hand to talk about the ideas we had to see if she would work with us, and all three of us connected immediately! Carrie was professional and personal, which is exactly the type of officiant we wanted. Carrie also allowed us to customize our ceremony with an Unbreakable Vow based hand fasting segment within our ceremony which made it more personal for us. It was a beautiful ceremony and we were so glad to have Carrie with us on our special day! Our families enjoyed her presence as well, and overall she was just a wonderful addition to our day. I highly recommend her to everyone looking to get married! You will not be disappointed, she is lovely! -

Wonderful Experience!
We chose Carrie to marry us because she performs spiritual ceremonies which was important to us. Carrie married Jeff and I in our backyard in June 2018 and she made the ceremony easy, stress-free, and fun! She has a great sense of humor and zen energy. Highly recommend! Thanks again, Carrie! -

Warm, joyful, professional
Carrie was the perfect officiant for our wedding. She provided wonderful advice for our vows, and made the ceremony so easy. She even took some pictures for us!

Wonderful!
Carrie was a wonderful addition to our wedding day. We met together in person twice to craft a ceremony, and loved having her resources and expertise to help us figure out what we wanted and give some structure to our nebulous ceremony ideas. We had her help us run our rehearsal as well and she was fantastic at keeping everything efficient and organized with our large bridal party. The ceremony was beautiful and many of our guests were asking for her information by the end of the day! Would absolutely recommend Carrie to help anyone celebrate their wedding day! -

Carrie MaKenna was amazing at our wedding- she helped us write the ceremony, had so much experience with a huuuuge variety of traditions . I appreciated her flexibility and we wrote out a fully customized secular (non-religious) ceremony that was still steeped in tradition, great balance.
Best part was that she spoke so well it actually enhanced our ceremony-particularly one poem reading she did for us- which became my favorite poem after hearing her read it during the wedding for us (i originally included the poem because it was my mom’s favorite but I wasn’t particularly attached until that moment at the altar listening to her read it)
I had a long, detailed review written out with all the best points covered but it was too long and this system didn’t allow me to submit something that long. Wish I could five the full glowing review she absolutely deserves! -

Carrie was a pleasure to work with. She helped us plan our ceremony and offered some really nice vows and quotes that we used. We had a very small wedding in the mountains with only a handful of guests. Carrie really helped to make this a special day for us. I would definitely recommend her. -

As the mother of the bride, Carrie’s calm and professional presence was welcome and reassuring. On the day of the wedding she stepped in at just the right moments to make sure certain critical details were attended to. That she genuinely cared about the bride and groom and our guests was evident. She added so much to the day. Carrie was the officiant at our wedding. I am a Christian and my husband, although raised as a Catholic, is now a self titled agnostic. Carrie did a beyond wonderful job with our ceremony. I was extremely concerned that whomever we chose to marry us, would not be able to blend my spiritual beliefs into a ceremony, that would not be uncomfortable for my husband. After our first meeting, I was totally assured that the ceremony would be the one thing, I wouldn't need to be anxious about. Carrie's calm and reassuring nature put me at ease. The ceremony was a perfect flowing blend of both my husbands beliefs and mine. The ceremony was beautiful!!! Thank you Carrie -

Carrie was fantastic from beginning to end. We scheduled our first meet and instantly she made us feel comfortable. We had a non denominational ceremony and felt her picks were perfectly paired for us! I also really enjoyed that she made time to spend with my family. Not to mention after the ceremony she had to help my maid of honor figure out how to bustle my dress!(it wouldn't have happened with out her) I highly recommend her for anyone, especially those laid back and just looking for someone who makes them feel comfortable! -

Carrie, walked us through each step of the way. From the first meeting with Carrie I felt very confident that she understood the ceremony that my husband and I had envisioned. She really helped us to personalize our vows and the entire ceremony to reflect our unique personalities. We loved having Carrie create our wedding ceremony! We have known her and her husband a few years and knew she was an officiant. Creating a unique script for our wedding was so fun and exciting. Our guests loved the special touches and we loved our vows. Unfortunately, we could not afford to pay for Carrie to travel to Vermont to perform the ceremony. But she was gracious to allow our family friend to be our wedding day officiant while using the script she wrote. We would highly recommend her to any couple!! -

We recently used Rev. Carrie MaKenna for our wedding ceremony. We had the daunting task of planning our wedding from overseas, and Carrie was so helpful throughout every step of the process, even through the 11-hour time difference! She created a specialized non-religious ceremony for us which incorporated different aspects from our Greek Orthodox and Muslim backgrounds. I felt like she understood exactly what we wanted from day one and turned it into a beautiful ceremony. Carrie puts her creativity, heart and soul into creating the perfect ceremony, and thinks of every detail throughout every step of the process. She was wonderful at our rehearsal, and had thought of all the little details that a busy bride would never think of. If you go with Rev. Carrie MaKenna you will not only have an unforgettable ceremony, but a friend for life. -

Rev Carrie helped us to create a fairytale wedding come true. First of all, she is an incredibly kind-hearted and down-to-earth person; working with her was a pleasure for everyone involved. Rev Carrie helped us combine more traditional wedding aspects with a Persian sugar ceremony such that the ceremony flowed in perfect harmony. Her suggestions for Persian poetry readings and elements such as the stone bowl and mother roses created the perfect balance of script and visual interaction. The ceremony kept the audience involved and attentive. Rev Carrie went beyond our expectations to organize the Persian sugar ceremony and make it accessible to wedding guests that had never heard of this Iranian tradition. The experience was magical. We would highly recommend Rev Carrie's unique officiant services to anyone! -

She answered all of my emails fast, changed my plan around for me whenever I needed, did a fabulous rehearsal so that everyone knew what they were doing, and helped me not fall apart during my ceremony!!
We just love her.

Rev. MaKenna performed our first ceremony in May 2005 when we got married and then just help us again celebrate our marriage through a vow renewal ceremony in June 2015. We were so happy and excited that she could help re-create the beautiful event 10 years later and have a wonderful ceremony to include our children. She was a very pleasant demeanor. -

We waited until the last minute to select an officiant because I wasn't sure what to look for. After some online research we decided to go with a professional officiant, which was a wonderful idea. Carrie was listed on our venue's preferred vendor list, and I liked her website. The planning meeting was so smooth - she made us feel comfortable and had all these ceremony options typed up so you could select anything you liked. She made great suggestions about timing, seating arrangements, and was very flexible to any changes. We took the best man and maid of honor to her studio the day before the wedding to run through the ceremony, which saved a lot of time versus the traditional rehearsal dinner. On the wedding day she performed her role like a champ, making sure everyone was in the right place and keeping the timing on track. I have no complaints and would highly recommend Carrie to anyone. -

Reverend Carrie MaKenna was really great! My husband and I decided last minute (5 weeks) we were going to have a wedding ceremony. We contacted Carrie and within a few days we had already talked to her and told her what and how we wanted things go. She has her ceremony outlined, but is flexible and will work with you to make the ceremony yours. She has several different ideas that you can incorporate in your ceremony. We chose to give flowers to our mothers, unity sand, and a bowl of blessing using quilt pieces to be sewn together by a family member. She arrived early to the ceremony and came to talk with me before to make sure things were how I wanted. She stayed until after the ceremony to sign the license. It was my first time meeting her on the day of the wedding, but because of her kind, warm, friendly personality I felt as though I had known her for sometime. I would definitely recommend her!!! -

Carrie was a HUGE part of our big day from the moment we met with her in her art studio!! She remained professional through ups and downs during our delayed wedding start time and was extremely accommodating!! With a candle lighting, unity sand and butterfly release ceremony in our plans, we could not have found a better match for an officiant!! She was the BEST and we highly recommend her services!! -

Carrie was wonderful to work with. From the initial interview she started crafting our ceremony and gave us tons of ideas to work with. She got to know us first before making suggestions on the type of ceremony she was going to put together. In the end we worked with a ceremony that she had written and customized it to be exactly how we wanted. Carrie ran a very organized rehearsal for us and made us feel like we had all the kinks worked out the day before the wedding. Although we only knew Carrie for a short time before the ceremony, it felt like having a close friend up there with us on our big day. She was great! -

Carrie was everything we had wished for. It certainly was not easy finding someone to perform a same sex wedding for us, but not only did she do it- she made the whole thing unforgettable. She could tell that I was nervous and emotional, but pressed on with her hands on my shoulder. The service was amazing and she incorporated things we wanted into her service (Our wedding was Disney themed so she took the time to find amazing quotes from Disney movies and put them in). I highly recommend her to anybody interested in getting married! -

Rev Carrie was wonderful.
My wife and I had a difficult situation having a destination wedding and trying to find someone that met not only our needs but our views and our eclectic way of thinking.
My schedule keeps me working internationally a month at a time so trying to schedule time to look for an officiant, that met their time table and ours was difficult. Rev Carrie went out of her way to accommodate our schedule.
Rev. Carrie took the time to sit with us and get to know us. our thoughts our values our relationship and to mesh all of the diverse ideas for our ceremony into a meaningful event.
We whole heartedly recommend her to anyone. -

When our wedding officiant cancelled on us three weeks before our wedding we were lucky to find Carrie. She was able to get everything written up for us quickly but still made sure that it completely fit us. Carrie was awesome before the wedding with helping us get everything together for the big day, she was amazing the day of and still continues to communicate with us even after the wedding. -

Carrie was the absolute best wedding officiant we could've hoped for! Her ceremony was absolutely beautiful and she perfectly met our request for a ceremony that would be very neutral for our mixed religious and non-religious guests (and the fact that I am spiritual but not religious and my husband was raised Catholic). We also incorporated many special things, including wine sharing, a pebble blessing ceremony, a mother rose ceremony and celtic handfasting that made our ceremony extra special and unique, and mixed very well with our celtic ceremony music and the irish prayer quote in our programs. Carrie also had wonderful quote/ reading ideas that were incorporated into our ceremony and made it extra special. Last but not least, Carrie had a wonderful, warm presence during the ceremony and did an exceptional job performing the ceremony. Many, many guests complimented us on how wonderful, moving and unique the ceremony was. I could not have asked for a more perfect officiant for our special day. She made our day so special and she was absolutely perfect!!! We were married during a beautiful outdoor ceremony during the day in Golden, CO on August 10, 2013. -

We found Carrie by searching 'Spiritual Wedding Officiants in Denver'. She was the first and only officiant we met with! After meeting and discussing our ideas and options we knew Rev. Carrie would make our ceremony personal & unique. Our ceremony was by far our favorite, most memorable part of the entire celebration and we had several guests tell us the same! -

Excellent service from a great person! Our original officiant cancelled on us last minute and we researched and found Carrie. She was close to home, very flexible, understanding, and helped us in so many ways. She catered to our non-religious wedding, accommodated every need even to the extent we were having a cosplay wedding and asked her to dress up in costume which she did. She also helped us in educating us in what the ceremony can and should encompass, very knowledgeable and prepared for any need or want. Carrie was great to work with for our wedding. Our first in-person consultation with her was very thorough; with her learning about us, our preferred wedding style, telling us about her experience and her giving suggestions for blessings, ceremonies etc. to be brought used in our ceremony. She was great at our wedding rehearsal- truly taking charge of the event and bridal party, so as the bride I could just relax and walk through the practice. We practiced a few times until all parties were comfortable with their roles and duties. She was early for our ceremony the next day and very prepared. She added impromptu humor (which we wanted) into our ceremony and had a wonderful voice to keep everyone's attention. We would highly recommend Carrie to any couple for their wedding! -
