Carrie was absolutely amazing to work with! I’m very glad I went with her for my wedding hair and makeup.
She was professional, very kind, and knowledgeable about her work. She wanted to make sure we loved our look, and verified every step of the way if what she did is what we wanted.
My hair held up through all the dancing I did! My makeup also looked great the whole night.

The Best Energy You Could Ask for on Your Wedding Day- Thank you, Carrie! 🥰
Carrie was absolutely amazing to work with! She was prompt, professional, and so personable. It truly felt like getting ready with a friend.
She even drove all the way from Phoenix to Sedona and back just to do my hair and makeup, which meant so much to me.
She nailed exactly what I wanted…which was natural, glowy makeup that made me feel like the best version of myself. Everything held up beautifully all day, and I loved how I looked. My “now” husband❤️ could not take his eyes off of me, he said I was breathtaking. 💕I haven’t even seen all of our photos yet, but from the sneak peeks our I photographer showed us. I looked amazing! 🥰
Her energy really stands out. We had great conversations and so many laughs, she is truly a vibe! She’s so positive and uplifting, and you can tell how genuine and passionate she is about what she does.
She even encouraged us to wear our wedding outfits to dinner after our ceremony to celebrate, and we ended up being anonymously gifted $200 from a very kind soul. 🙏🏼 That moment alone says so much about her mindset and the kind of experience she creates.

Highly recommend!
Carrie did an amazing job on my hair. I had a winter wedding and wanted a braided updo. She was very prompt to both my trial and wedding day, very easy going and the quality of service was wonderful. We had our wedding at the Skyranch Lodge in Sedona. Carrie responded to my initial inquires quickly and was very clear. She did hair for myself, and 4 others. Carrie was on time and had everything she needed to make our hair dreams come true. With just a photo reference she was able to meet everyone’s hair style needs. This woman did magic!
I had booked a different person for hair and make up for my mom(grandmother of bride), and myself(mother of bride) and the person cancelled on us a week before the wedding. I messaged Carrie asking if she possibly had any availability on the wedding date (which was a Saturday and in May!) and i explained the situation. We also live in San Diego, not Pheonix so I wasn't able to come in before the wedding. Not only fid she respond, but she straight called me immediatly. Told me she'd fit us in between two other weddings and she came to our location. This woman was my savior. And let me tell you, she did an amazing job. Made my mom look 20 years younger. Fabulous! My wedding was amazing!
Carrie did a fantastic job on my wedding & hair! I saw her about 2 weeks prior to my wedding to do corrective coloring & we discussed what my hair & makeup vision was. My hair came out perfect & she is my new hair lady! She was able to fit in my sister who Wasn’t planning on getting her hair or make up done! Carrie is fabulous and I highly recommend her, trust me you won’t be disappointed. I was so worried that my make up was completely going to come off because of how much crying I would be doing! Best Makeup Artist for Elopement
Carrie was amazing! My partner and I decided to get eloped in Sedona, and Carrie made this day so easy for me. She did my hair and makeup, and my sister’s as well. I cried like a baby all day and my makeup went nowhere! My eyes were sensitive to the lashes, and she stayed over her time to ensure those lashes weren’t going anywhere! Wedding Day Bliss
I recently had the pleasure of working with Carrie to do the hair & makeup for me, my mother, sister in law, mother in law & godmother for my wedding. I can honestly say that she exceeded all of my expectations and made me feel like a true queen. From the moment I met her I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. Her attention to detail is second to none, and she truly listened to my vision for my look.
On the day of the event, she arrived promptly and brought all of her own equipment. She made me feel completely comfortable throughout the entire process, and I was blown away by the final result. My hair and makeup were flawless and lasted all night long, even through dancing and lots of hugs from friends and family.

I coordinated our meeting from out of state and the whole process was painless. Carrie arrived early, but not before messaging me to ensure that it was okay for her to get started. Before we started she reminded me to take care of some things that, as a nervous bride, I would have never thought of….like removing my bra to prevent indentations from being visible in my shoulders once I changed into my wedding dress. My hair was perfect. She incorporated a bridal comb that I had chosen, and my hair stayed in place the whole evening, even during a breezy outdoor ceremony in the Red Rocks. My makeup was natural but flawless! Not only was she professional and talented, but she was incredibly kind and great company. I eloped across the country, without any friends or family along, and it was so wonderful to spend my time before my wedding with another female. Her company was amazing. A magical experience
Carrie is literally the sweetest! She is such a hard worker and went above and beyond to make sure I had the perfect look on my wedding day. I booked Carrie last minute because hair and makeup is something I don’t think about much in my day to day life so I put it on the back burner for my wedding. Carrie was so responsive and reassuring. You can tell she takes her career seriously. My hair is past my hips and very very thick so I was nervous about the outcome. Since it was so last minute, I wasn’t able to have a trial, but I trusted Carrie to work her magic. She did just that! I wanted an updo to show the intricate detail on my dress. I loved my final look. Now for makeup, I’ve struggled with eczema since I was little, but once I was pregnant with my first child, it spread to my face. This is a major insecurity for me as it’s not easy to cover or hide with clothes. I let Carrie know and she suggested airbrush. You couldn’t even see my eczema! I was so impressed because it wasn’t heavy at all. I have never felt more beautiful and confident in my life. My look was a bit dramatic, but I figured I’d never get that opportunity again so I went for it. Carrie has the most genuine personality and was so spunky and energetic. She brought a great vibe to my wedding and fit right in with my loud Hispanic family! Carrie did my hair and makeup as well as the MOB and SOB. I planned half my wedding while living abroad and was relieved to have someone who responds quickly to emails. Carrie was super flexible when my original wedding spot cancelled and we had to move locations.
She arrived on time and stuck to her to schedule—we even finished early! There was no rushing or stress! It was great having someone who works in the business to offer tips and guidance to the wedding! Everyone who had their hair and makeup done absolutely loved it. Carrie was amazing to have as my hair and make-up artist! I had my hair and make-up done for my senior photos a few years ago and that was a horrible experience - so bad that it made me hesitant to even hire an artist for my wedding day! Because of that experience, Carrie allowed me to come in for a trial run without even hiring her for my wedding yet to see if I would be comfortable. Well, she definitely changed my mind and I hired her that day for my wedding! I don't wear a lot of make-up in general and wanted a very natural look for my wedding and she made that happen. She used colors that wouldn't stick out on my like a sore thumb and really listened to what I wanted. She also did an amazing job with my hair and my bridal party's hair as well. She can look at whatever picture you show her and she can make it happen with no problem. Carrie was such a joy to work with! I’m not very experienced with hair/makeup, so I was probably not so great at describing what I wanted, but Carrie found a way to create the perfect look. I had a trial with her that went amazing, but the wedding day look was even better! I could tell that she really thought about how to make my hair and makeup the best that it could be. I felt so confident and beautiful on my wedding day thanks to her! Another huge plus is that my makeup still looked natural instead of like a mask, which is something I was afraid of for my wedding day. Meeting Carrie felt like meeting an old friend, she was so fun to talk to while she did my makeup and my moms. I was so happy with my makeup, I looked like a better version of myself. The makeup stayed fresh all day in 100 degree Sedona AZ weather. My hair was a perfectly imperfect messy low bun. People dont usually see me with my hair away from my face because I am usually trying to cover up eczema flare ups on my neck and back… my husband cried when he saw me. Carrie saved my day!
My MUH artist cancelled 24 hours before my wedding (every bride’s worst nightmare). I was stressed to say the least. I did some research and found Carrie and am so glad I did! She was already booked on the day of my wedding, but was so empathetic about my situation and accommodated me still (w/o a last minute fee).
From my initial conversation with Carrie she was very communicative! After I got off the phone with her she sent over a contract within 10 minutes. Since my original MUH artist cancelled on me it was reassuring to have someone to respond even if my message didn’t warrant a reply. I really value communication when planning and Carrie’s communication was quick and transparent. She sent over a wedding day schedule to ensure we stay organized.
On the day of my wedding, Carrie arrived on time. She made sure I was happy with my MUH. She was calm and didn’t rush. You can tell when someone is rushing because they are booked right after, but Carrie took her time.

Choose Carrie for All Your Beauty Needs!
I found Carrie on Wedding Wire and after doing some extensive research on her previous work and speaking with her about my bridal vision, I booked her for destination wedding in Sedona, Arizona. And wow, I'm glad I did.
As a destination bride arriving the day before my wedding, I was unable to do a trial with Carrie. At first, I was really uneasy about this and had a lot of questions and concerns. Carrie did such a wonderful job of calming my nerves by answering all of my questions (within minutes of sending my emails) that come wedding day, the thought of not having a trial didn't even cross my mind.
Carrie arrived right on time and her positive energy was what we needed to get the day started! One of my favorite things was how professional she was and that she knew exactly what's required to achieve the best results. When vendors and family were coming at me with questions while I was in her chair, she redirected them to other members of the bridal party so I could relax and enjoy the experience (and ensured I was staying hydrated with both water and some bubbly).
When it came time for my first look I the mirror I cried, and I think she did too! I was so blown away by how precisely she executed my dream look. I think what she did was better than anything I found on Pinterest, honestly! She was so good about listening to my requests. I was maybe overly adamant about having a natural look and she nailed it, making me feel flawless.
In my opinion, feeling beautiful on your wedding day is really one of the most important things and makes the day so much more enjoyable. The first thing my husband said when I met him at the altar was how beautiful I looked, and I really thank Carrie for her role in that.
If you are unsure if whether to book her for any big event, I urge you to trust this review and the reviews below. You won't regret it! It's been 10 days since my wedding and I'm already trying to find other opportunities to work with Carrie again.Carrie Kacen Makeup & Hair Artistry's reply:

I am a very well established wedding coordinator from St. Louis, Mo. I had planned my engagement photo’s to be taken at cathedral Rock in Sedona. Originally, I had taken the recommendation from another vendor of another stylist in the Sedona area. When that stylists cancelled on me THE DAY BEFORE I reached out to Carrie. Not only did she rearrange her whole day to come to my hotel and do my hair and make up but she did it with a level of professionalism that is desperately needed in our industry.
For my hair and make up, I would be hiking I needed something that would stay. Not only was her work stunning, I looked just as stunning when the photos were finished as I did the moment she handed me the mirror when she was finished my hair and make up at the hotel.
I posted a picture on social media when we arrived back to the car and had many people text me asking me what “work” I had done. This was after sweating for two hours my make up still looked so great people thought I had had cosmetic work done. Lol.
I have worked with hundreds of stylists over my 11 years in the wedding industry and if I could fly her to STL to do my brides I would. I am using her for my wedding next year, and will use her anytime I need hair and make up done in AZ in the future. I can’t say enough about Carrie, her work, and her professionalism under pressure. When we decided to elope, Carrie came recommended and was sure to be there even though we were marrying more than 1,000 miles from home. We met at a hotel for her to do my hair and makeup as well as my daughter’s. She started with my daughter’s hair and about halfway through her makeup the power went out. I became extremely nervous as the rain poured down in Sedona and we were told an entire grid was without power, just hours before we were set to get married. Carrie just kept on going and assured me that everything would be fine. She proceeded to do my hair and makeup in the dark, with just the light that was coming through the raindrops. Just as she was putting the finishing touches on, the power came back on. And in the end, she had done an amazing job!! Carrie was an absolute joy to work with. I am fairly particular about how I like my hair and makeup to look, and she was able to get exactly what I was looking for after looking at maybe three inspiration photos.
