Carriage Caterers is a wonderful catering service. I was one of many unfortunate 2020 covid brides. Bob Christensen, the owner, and no relation; was wonderfully accommodating. He was incredibly kind and obliging when I rescheduled my wedding for 2021 and when I had to cancel once again due to covid. In 2020 my father was diagnosed with advanced cancer and I couldn't risk his health with a large wedding in 2020 or 2021. I still married my husband in 2020 and Bob was kind enough to provide bouquets, boutonniere, and a beautiful cake. Bob's service was exceptional and I can't recommend Carriage Caterers enough. -

LOOK NO FURTHER! Hire them now! Bob and his fantastic team will make all your dreams come true. I've dreamed of my wedding since I was a kid and somehow he exceeded my expectations. Not to mention a great price! Highlights: - works with your vision - delicious food (my guests still talk about it ) - seasoned vendor - lots of connections - honest and truly cares I cannot recommend them enough. One Stop Shop
We got married in April, 2021 at the Garten Verein and are so happy that we went with Carriage Caterers! Having a caterer who not only did food, but linens, table decor, flowers, cake, and bar staffing made my planning process so much easier! Bob was great to work with, I pretty much sent him pictures of what I wanted and he delivered. And knowing that he does so many events at our reception venue was a huge plus as well. We got so many compliments on our food, especially the macaroni and cheese! Carriage Caterers was a great vendor at a reasonable price! We are so glad they were part of our special day. -

I cannot say enough good things about Carriage Caterers. This company, owned by Bob Christensen, is top-notch. His team doesn't just do food...they do it ALL! My daughter got married three days ago (4/17/21) at the Ashton Villa in Galveston (170 guests). Bob's team provided the food, floral, wedding cakes, table & event decor, a staff of 12 and 2 bartenders! WOW! Let me start with the food..... the quality was excellent and there was ALOT of it! We served prime rib, parmesan encrusted chicken, baked potato casserole, corn casserole, squash medley, tossed salad and rolls. He has many other items to choose from too! Think down-home cooking and quality. People raved and raved over the food. We had passed appetizers of bacon wrapped shrimp, stuffed mushroom caps and prosciutto wrapped asparagus. If you left our wedding hungry it was your own fault!!! :)
Next let's talk cake....Bob bakes his own cakes and has a wonderful cake artist decorate them. He has 30+ years experience baking cakes! We showed them a photo of what we wanted and they delivered. The cakes were gorgeous and were so yummy! Sooooo moist! My 78-yr-old mother said it was the best cake she had ever tasted!! The cake was three layers...each a different flavor. White, lemon and red velvet. Bob has many different flavors to choose from! He won't disappoint!
OK...now on to floral. We told Bob the color scheme that we wanted and what our floral budget was and he produced! He is so knowledgeable about flowers. His staff floral designer is amazing! We had 9 tall arrangements on the tables and on the other 8 tables had hurricane glass cylinders and candles (ten on each table) and a little greenery. The room was stunning! Bob provided all table linens (different colors to choose from), china, glassware, etc. He decorated the ballroom staircase, fireplace mantle and two other rooms at the villa for us. The outdoor gardens where the ceremony was held had been hit hard by the freeze leaving the vegetation looking sparse. Bob's crew worked their magic outside adding live greenery to the gazebo as well as fern baskets, fabric draping and more floral. It looked AMAZING! He totally transformed the area.
Bob takes great pride in his work. I felt he was always aiming to please us. The man goes above and beyond. I don't have enough time to mention everything but on our way to my daughter's bridal portrait session we realized we had forgotten to get a bouquet made. Panicked, I called Bob and he said "No problem honey, come on by and I'll put one together for you." And he did!! That's the kind of guy he is. And his staff was just as nice. They were all such a pleasure to work with.
There's an old saying that when you go to hire someone there are 3 things you want from them, but you will only get two because one of them always has to give. They are good quality, good price and timeliness. With Bob and Carriage Caterers I got all three. The quality of everything was superb, his prices are very fair and he was punctual, willing to meet with us several times before the big day and talk on the phone whenever I wanted to. Bob said to me several times, "Honey don't worry, I've got this. I don't want you to worry about a thing." Bob, I only wish I had another daughter getting married!! That's how wonderful you made our event.
If you're reading this looking for a caterer look no further. This company has the experience under their belt, is a great value for the money and they aim to please. You won't be disappointed with them! A++++++++ -

Bob is Super Man!
He did our flowers, linens, cake and food! He really helped make my wedding beautiful! The centerpieces and table decorations were beautiful and the bouquets and corsages were perfect! AND THE FOOD, mouth watering goodness. I had some special requests for my cake and he delivered, exactly what I pictured. Thank you for taking on my wedding, Bob and making it stress free for me. -

I cannot begin to tell you how amazing our experience was. We found Carriage Caterers at our venue open house and let me tell you, we had tried a lot of caterers before and were disappointed but the minute we tasted Carriage Caterers' food we knew right then and there that this was it!!! Things only got better from there, Bob is great if anyone knows weddings it is him. He will not only listen to you and what you want but he will give you so much advise and help with literally everything all while having fun. All of our guests have commented on how great everything was and have said this was the best wedding food they have had and believe me they have been to a lot of weddings. His staff is amazing and will go above and beyond to make sure your day is a dream come true. Call them NOW!!! Amazing food, amazing cakes, flowers, linens basically everything but the groom!!! -

I had the best experience working with Bob and Carriage Caterers. Bob was our florist, caterer, and cake baker and our wedding was beautiful. People are so surprised when I told them how cost efficient it was--it felt like a steal for such great food and service! Truly loved Bob and his staff and would recommend them to anyone! -

Hiring Bob was one of the best wedding decisions we made. We did not want a DIY wedding, and Bob can do it all! At an affordable price too! He did our food, cake, decor, and flowers. The food was so good that my mother-in-law went for seconds (she never does that!!) and all the guests raved about it. Both of our cakes looked and tasted amazing. We described to Bob what we were thinking for decor/flowers and he nailed it. He is also very flexible and takes into account all of your thoughts and ideas. Take my word for it, you can trust him and he will deliver. -
K Sent on 06/14/2018My daughter had her wedding at Garden Verein in Galveston, TX. The budget was limited (she's just graduated from college so her parents wrote the checks) and she and I are both very busy. Not much DIY was possible for us, which made using this beautiful venue a question mark... Until I met with Bob from Carriage Caterers.
Carriage Caterers is almost one-stop shopping, even for venues that require you to provide everything but the tables and chairs. Bob expertly guided us through decisions about linens, tablescapes, flowers for the tables and the wedding party, room set-up, bar set-up (he provided glasses and our bartender), food to serve, and cakes - all services he provides. He also gave suggestions for a DJ (which we happily hired) and a photographer (who we opted not to hire).
My daughter had a vision for how her wedding would look and she was worried that this venue, which was not her first choice, would not deliver. She let me know at her reception that everything was beautiful and she was very happy. Of course, my bride was the person I most wanted to please, but comments from our guests are enthusiastically complimentary. People were very impressed by the choices they had at the dinner buffet and they found the food to be delicious. We really couldn't be happier with the service Bob provided, and the price he charges is an excellent value. We could have spent more for a meal with only 1 entree and 2 sides.
To try some of the dishes offered by Carriage Caterers, you can visit Bob twice a year at the Galveston Bridal Show. He'll have samples of the prime rib (which we served at our event) as well as several side dishes and cakes. You can also see flower arrangements, table settings, and cakes done by carriage caterers. By going to the shows with my bride, she was able to see what was possible. As it happens, one of the arrangements on display fit her vision for her bouquet, as did one of the cakes, so those choices became easy.

Keatyn Sent on 02/25/2018I wholeheartedly recommend Carriage Caterers for any event! My daughter's wedding was last night, and Bob and his staff attended to every detail to perfection. I knew from the first consultation that Bob was my guy...he took a personal interest in our wedding and was so helpful in planning and staying within our budget. He was very responsive to any and all questions I had throughout the process. Bob took care of everything...linens, cakes, all floral details, centerpieces, and delicious food. The finished product was more than I had even hoped for, and Bob was on hand before, during, and after the ceremony and reception to ensure that everything was running smoothly. I love this guy!!

John Sent on 11/21/2017Wow- if you need someone to cater an event or wedding, give Bob a call. He cater our sons wedding at the Rail Road Museum on Saturday, November 18, 2017 and did an outstanding job. The food, floral, linens and service were outstanding.
The food - well the line of guest going back for more let us know that is was delicious.
Thank you Bob for making Trey and Anne's wedding memorable.

Chris Sent on 10/14/2017We had interviewed several catering companies for our daughters wedding in February, 2016. Bob was not only the most reasonable, but it was virtually a one stop shop. He did everything! Not only did he take the weight off of the bride and her mother, but it was done to perfection with great attention to detail. We were blown away by the quality of the food. Our guests were returning to the buffet over and over. There was always enough. His wait staff was impeccable. They were there when we needed something but seemingly out of the way when we were dancing or visiting. Bob made sure the bride and groom were served first so they could actually eat. Bob used one of his many sets of china for dinner. The table settings, silver and linens are perfection. The bridal and bridesmaids bouquets all the way down to the flower girls' bouquets and boutonnieres were beautiful and elegant. His suggestions coming from many years of experience were spot on.
Bob made the most beautiful, and I might add delicious, wedding cake. He took the brides vision and colors and transformed them into a beautiful 5 tier masterpiece.
We ordered all our liquor and provided Bob a list of what was going to be delivered and he had his bartender at the venue early to receive the delivery. He provided the chests and ice and had everything iced down and set up early so that when the wedding was finished and while we were taking pictures, the guests could have a cocktail and mingle before the bride and groom arrived.
I saw Bob the entire night throughout the reception. He was making sure everyone had everything they needed.
Bob and his staff would be the only caterer I would ever hire for any event I was hosting. I would know that it would be the best an event could be. -

User2074951 Sent on 03/23/2015Bob was literally an Angel sent to help guide us through this important day for our daughter. After calling over 20 other caterers and requesting quotes within our budget, we were given his name and number from our Event location. We called him, he met with us immediately, even though we were planning a year and 4 months ahead of time. Within that entire year, we spoke on the phone 5 times and in person approx. 5 times, including the day before the wedding. At the first meeting we told him what we wanted, "simple elegance", but had no idea what we thought that looked like. We gave him a few ideas, showed him a few pictures and he ran with it. If he did not like an idea, he was not afraid to tell us so, but he also told us why. If he did not like an idea, but we insisted on it, he worked with it and made it look great. I think we were his first "toolbox" grooms cake. The advice he gave us at the beginning of this process was, in our opinion, priceless and something that my daughter and I repeated frequently. "A wedding does not have to be difficult and stressful, if YOU do not let it be difficult and stressful". I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful and amazing everything was and how on the mark he was. In our opinion, it was not "simple elegance", but TRUE Elegance. Beautiful job, wonderful and plenty of food, cake and cupcakes were delicious. There was not a person in the Garten Verein who did not tell my husband and I how beautiful everything was and how wonderful the food tasted. We were extremely pleased!! Thank you Bob for making our daughters wedding a day we will NEVER forget! -

Michelle Sent on 05/13/2012I cannot say enough good things about Bob and the entire staff at Carriage Caterers. He made my day so amazing. It would not have gone as smoothly without him. From the first meeting he was beyond encouraging and calming. He answered all my questions in a timely manner and was willing to go with my last minute changes. He really got the job done without any problems. He provided AMAZING food....and I mean amazing! People were saying this was the best wedding food they've eaten. Not only is it tasty, but it's served hot and hearty....it's a meal that wont leave you hungry in an hour. Prime rib is to die for!!! He also took care of the flowers. They were perfect! He also decorated, took care of the table linens, candles, ect. I didn't have to lift a finger on my day! He also provides the cake.....and his cake lady is the best around! I tried at least 5 of the big competitors around here...Bob's cake lady is absolutely the best. I gave her a design to try and match and she really pulled it off! It was my dream come true! He also provided all the containers for my candy buffet and manned it the whole night! The staff was so awesome and so helpful...they always made sure my husband and I had everything we needed during the reception. And his bartender is awesome!!! People were raving over her allllll night long. Bob has a real rapport with other vendors around here....he works really well with everyone and all my vendors knew each other very well. He is so professional and he really cared about making my day amazing. He provides a great service for a REALLY great price. Not only did the place look amazing, everyone got PLENTY to eat and we still have a fridge of leftovers! I cannot say enough great things about Bob. I had to plan a wedding in 4 months and he made the whole process so great! There was no stress on our day and he and his staff really allowed my husband and I to enjoy ourselves. I cannot thank him enough! -

We had Carriage Caterers for our wedding and we highly recommend them. The appetizers and food they served during cocktail hour and dinner were so delicious and were plenty. My husband and I wished we requested to have food saved for us to eat after the wedding because we wanted to eat more. We received lots of compliments on how good the food was and how much food was served. They also made our cake and it was so beautiful and tasted so good that there was nothing left (except the top part that they saved for us). Our guests raved how good our cake even days after the wedding. Besides the food and cake, they also provided our flowers and centerpieces which were all beautiful and did our table settings. Everything looked amazing. We were very pleased. Bob will help you and guide you with the planning, not to forget Marolynne who was very responsive during the planning. Bob and his staff were wonderful and very professional. They provided top notch service. Bob came and stayed during our wedding and made sure everything went well from set up to breakdown. Thank you Bob and Carriage Caterers! -

Courtney Sent on 04/18/2011Bob Christensen with Carriage Catering was absolutely AMAZING! He completely saved mine and my mom's sanity!! He was PERFECT!! He was available anytime I needed to meet with him, he was so easy to get along with, and he even made sure that everything was set up the day of the wedding!!! He was there in the AM and started setting everything up. He was not only my caterer, but also my planner. He was available to come to the rehearsal dinner to make sure everything went perfectly!! My wedding was AMAZING and it was largely in part because of Bob!!! His prices seemed reasonable to me in comparison to other caterers, especially when you consider everything he did for us!! Not only was he there throughout the entire night to help shut down, but the food was amazing!!! Everyone raved about the food, especially the little potatoes!!!!!
