Lovely creator baker who provided us a phenomenal cake for 50 people at a price that was very generous and beyond comparable. The cake looked beautiful and tasted even better! She has a sweet soul and giving spirit, your special day would only be enhanced by utilizing her talents.

We didn't ask Lauren for a big cake because we were not serving it for dessert, but she created a beautiful small cake for us so we could do a traditional cake cutting for our reception. She was kind, helpful, and gracious...we loved working with her! And she also gave us our one year anniversary cake separately so we have one especially for that day. Everything about working with her was great! :-)

My cake was absolutely amazing!! I gave Carol 4 pictures of cakes I liked and she merged them together and made a cake more beautiful than I could ever imagine! All of my guests gave me so many compliments on it! And to top it all off it was delicious! The almond icing is to die for! And we had differen fillings on all the layers since they were all so great we couldn't just pick one!

Carol was referred to by our venue; we did not choose her as part of our package but she offered the contracted rate which included delivery and no deposit. We felt the price was fair, and she was very flexible in giving us multiple tastings to get the correct combination of flavors for our three tier cake. We gave her an example of a cake we wanted and she made one that was very similar, and most importantly, all the guests loved the cake.

Our cake was delicious and beautiful. Carol was fantastic. She made us a 4 tier cake with each tier a different design that I liked. She allowed us to have any tier any flavor or filling we wanted. We ended up going with 3 different flavors and fillings because they were all delicious. She let us try whatever we wanted and gave us the option to come get more any time we wanted if we didn't like what we tasted. She really was amazing. The cake meeting was one of my favorite wedding appointments we had. LOL. Our cake was absolutely perfect. She really makes beautiful, delicious cakes.

Carol is a true pastry chef! Our cake was delicious! And she matched our wedding colors perfectly! We couldn't be more pleased with the presentation or professionalism!

Working with Carol was so easy. We got to try out any flavor combos that we wanted, and the planning session was a breeze. We also had a last minute additional to our order, as it was my cousin's son's first birthday. They were able to make a fantastic first birthday cake for him without any issue. I would highly recommend Carol and her team to any bride in the area.

Carol's Cakes make the most beautiful & delicious wedding cakes & birthday cakes. They are very professional & very helpful. Everyone loved my daughter's wedding cake, it was the best i every had.

It was difficult to find a baker who could create the look I wanted and also have great tasting cake, until I met Carol from Carol's Cakes! She was an absolute pleasure to work with and was super flexible to meet my needs! She really listened and was able to capture exactly the look I was envisioning! My wedding cake was both elegant and decadent, and everyone was raving about how great it tasted! Thanks Carol!!

Carol's cakes did an amazing job on my wedding cake on 10/5/13. The design and decorating was exactly what I wanted and Carol and her team listened to what I wanted. The cake was amazing as well and all of the guests commented on how delicious it was. She was also extremely adaptive to guests who had allergies making a special cake for them. I would high recommend Carol's Cakes to anyone who needs a cake for any special occasion and I know we will use her again!

Carols Cakes was absolutely fantastic. They were so easy to work with and allowed us to taste as many different samples as we wanted. All of the cake we tried was delicious. Carol was very easy to work with during our consultation and she helped take our ideas and design a simple, elegant design. Our wedding cake turned out to be PERFECT. She designed it exactly how we discussed and wanted. The cake also tasted delicious and was very moist. I would highly recommend using Carols Cakes to anyone and everyone.

Carol's Cakes provided me with exactly the cake I showed her a picture of! I was blown away. We ordered the spice cake and it was just as delicious as our test cake. She also put together a beautiful chocolate groom's cake for my husband. And part of her cake package is an anniversary cake, already boxed and ready to freeze! Love, love, loved Carol and her cakes! Highly recommend her to anyone in the Pittsburgh area!

Our cake was amazing. I took Carol a picture of what I wanted and it is exactly what I got. I was BEAUTIFUL!!! STUNNING!!!! It tased fantastic too. I recieved so many compliments on the cake. Carol packages up our anniversay cake seperately to save us a hassle and a mess. She was so easy to work with. Stress free!! Highly recommeded. Thanks again Carol.

It was good fortune that I met Carol at the Open House held by The DoubleTree-Pittsburgh Airport. While chatting with her and explaining that my daughter was unable to attend, Carol filled up a bag of cake samples in a variety of flavors. That evening we did a taste testing...and loved them all!!!! Every slice was moist and had perfect flavor and texture. The cake we ordered tasted every bit as perfect as it's detailed design. Carol's calm and professional manner was very much appreciated for such a special occasion. Simply outstanding!!!!!

Carol is a wonderful cake vendor. She is friendly, professional, accomodating, and creative. You bring her a picture or tell her exactly what you want, and she will make it real. Cakes are delicious and gorgeous!!

People are still talking about our wedding cake - not only because it was delicious - it was BEAUTIFUL. I had a special request - I didn't want a traditional cake topper, but rather I wanted to tie our wedding invitation theme into the cake and Carole did a gorgeous job - it was a work of art and very unique. We had special requests for combinations of batter/filling and whatever we wanted was fine - she certainly understands that it is our special day and met all our needs.

I would recommend Carole's Cakes for any of your special or everyday cake needs.

I saw a picture of a cake I LOVED and took it to her. She said she could do it ~and she did, only better!

When we went in for our tasting she made us 4 mini cakes to take hom in the combinations we wanted to try, and her cake was amazingly good! So good, in fact, we used her for my bridal shower cake as well.

And 1 year later, we thawed our top layer out for our anniversay and it was still yummy!

I can't say enough good things about Carol's Cakes!

Our wedding cake turned out EXACTLY as I had envisioned it! I was an out-of-town bride with limited time to meet when I was home for wedding appointments. Carol's Cakes was flexible and met with my mom and me around our schedule. They had such attention to detail and made sure every aspect of the cake, serving size, and day-of delivery was accounted for. They even took a picture of my wedding dress and mirrored the lace pattern on the middle layer of our cake! At times it was difficult to get a hold of them when I called with questions about payment, but other than that everything was perfect. They worked directly with my florist and reception venue so that I didn't have to worry about anything. I would certainly recommend Carol's Cakes to any bride-to-be.

Our wedding cake was absolutely AMAZING!!!! It was EXACTLY what I envisioned when I showed Carol some pictures of what I wanted our cake to look like! Each tier was different and very intricate and the flowers that were added were exactly what we wanted and perfectly placed. It was also delicious and fresh! We loved that we got to taste so many combinations and Carol gave us the option of choosing more flavors and combinations if we didn't like the first 6 that we chose! We also got a separately boxed perfect sized Anniversary cake! Carol's cakes was a great value as well! At times it was difficult getting a hold of the bakery but in the end everything turned out perfect!

The girls at the bakery were very friendly and accommodating to our needs and questions. The cake samples were fresh and delicious. The consultation was relaxed and fun discussing visions of the wedding and how the cake design comes into play. I really enjoy the tastes and flavors Carol's Cakes offers.

Carol did a wedding cake for us. The cake was delicious and beautiful. We requested a specific pattern of icing and decorations and it was exactly as we had hoped. Cost was much less than other places we looked at and the taste was much better too! We would use Carol again and recommend her to friends and family in the area.

The cake is delicious and beautiful. There never was an issue with Carol's and they make sure the cake matches the Wedding party. I had a castle like cake, with dripping blood and white chocolate leaves and masquerade masks. No one could have put those ideas into a complete and beautiful cake, like Carol's did

I could not be happier with the way my cake looked and tasted on my wedding day. In the area, Carol's was the best price for the best value I found. The only thing I found troublesome was it was sometimes hard to get ahold of her, but she far made up for that with the cake the day of the wedding. Our groom's cake was also just as amazing!

Carol's Cakes created an absolutely awesome cake for my wedding this past weekend. The cake was a reasonable price, and all of the guests were raving at how good the cake was!! The staff a Carol's Cakes was extremely helpful in assisting us to choose our cake as well - we could pick three different cake batter / filling / icing options to take home with us and try in the form of mini cakes. All the options that we tried were excellent. The only drawback I would note (and it was not Carol's Cake's fault, by my own error in judgement) was that we had a blue ombre cake starting navy at the base and fading to ivory at the top. Let me tell you, blue butter cream icing + your mouth = cookie monster mouth. We received many, many compliments on our cake that night, and it was actually a great icebreaker with the guests all showing each other their blue tongues. At the end of the night, Carol's had created us our own small anniversary cake, already boxed and ready to be frozen, so that we would have a complete and beautiful bit of our wedding cake ready to be savored a year from now. All in all, very professional, attentive, and they did a GREAT job.

We have a Wedding Package through Shakespeare's Restaurant and Pub in Ellwood City, PA and we chose to have the wedding cake as part of the package. Carol's Cakes is the vendor for this. So we met with Carol yesterday. She got straight to the point and was very professional. Asked us all the necessary questions and drew up a plan for the cake immediately. My fiancé and I aren't very picky so I just gave her an idea of what we wanted (Simple 3 tier cake with a castle topper) and she told us what we could get with our wedding package and what would cost extra. We decided to stay within the bounds of the Shakespeare's wedding package. She had asked us ahead of time for cake sample choices and gave us three to take home to try. We tried the spice cake with cream cheese icing and mocha filling, marble cake with cream cheese icing and spice filling, and banana cake with butter cream icing and strawberry filling. They were all delicious but we chose the Spice cake for our wedding cake. By the way, the Anniversary Cake is included!! (I didn't even know to ask about that but it was cool to find out that it will be separate.) From other reviews I've read about Carol's Cakes, I know our cake will be great! I have no doubt that it will be perfect. :) If you are a Shakespeare Bride, choose the Wedding Package! It's a great deal and you get to pick to have 2 out of 3 of either: Chair Covers, Centerpieces or wedding cake. We chose the Chair Covers and Wedding Cake options because we will be making our own centerpieces. The Chair Cover person is Terri Yoho and she is super nice too. She also provides uplighting and other decor options for an upcharge.

She was willing to answer all my questions, make the cake according to exactly what I wanted, provided many pictures to use as references, and it all tasted delicious! The cake was delivered on time and looked beautiful. The only problem was that she was very hard to get ahold of. It was rare that anyone answered whenever I called and sometimes I'd have to call back a few times a week because I never received a call back. But, when I did talk to someone, they were very polite and helpful. I would use Carol's Cakes again.

We used Carol's Cakes for our weding and Carol did an amazing job on our bridal cake and the grooms cake. They came out better than we could've expected! She provided complimentary samples for us and she was able to create exactly what we were looking for. As far as pricing, the grooms cake was reasonably priced and our bridal cake was included as part of a package with our venue, Shakespeare's Restaurant and Pub. At times It was hard to get ahold of someone at Carol's Cakes but other than that we had a wonderful experience!

I loved our cake and Carol was wonderful to work with! She was very flexible and allowed me to bring in photos of the type of cake I was envisioning. They created it to look just like the picture! They are very talented and the cake was delicious as well. Also, we had a low budget and Carol's Cakes prices were the most reasonable I could find in the Pittsburgh area.

Carol is a close friend with my godmother, who was purchasing our wedding cake for us as a gift. I was often frustrated with the lack of communication between Carol and myself since my godmother was mostly in contact with her. Aside from that, everything was amazing. My mother and I met with Carol (whom she also knows) and talked about the design and took home a few cakes to try. The cake was AMAZING white cake with a cherry nut filling and vanilla icing TO DIE FOR!!! I'm slightly upset that the only cake I had on my wedding day was what my husband shoved in my face. Carol did package up on top layer for us to freeze. She also said that she does it a little bit differently to help it stay fresh. I'm sure it won't be as good on wedding day, but I still have no complaints. The picture that I showed Carol was identical to what she made for us. I could not be any happier with our wedding cake!!

Carol gave us exactly what we wanted! I took in multiple ideas of what I envisioned and she really understood what I was going for. Carol is very talented so you won't be disappointed in what she can do! The cake tasted amazing too!

Loved our cake! She listened to our design desires and matched them. Everyone commented on how good the cake tasted. We did lemon cake with a raspberry gel filling and cream cheese icing.

My only issue was it took forever for someone to respond to you. I sent many emails and sometimes did not get a response the first or second time. I never got an answer on the delivery time of cake and when I got to venue it was not there. We had to call and she said she was on her way. If she resolves her communications issues she would be a 5.0 rating.

Carol was so lovely to work with. I provided her with pictures of three different and diverse cakes I had found on Pinterest, and she did every single one with such skill and taste. The cakes were incredible, and my favorite part was receiving a free anniversary cake for my husband and I to enjoy on our one year anniversary. Loved the cakes!

Had to follow up with vendor by emailing and requesting to meet. 2 weeks before my wedding I had to request to meet and offer to provide a deposit to secyure the date and cake.

We are very happy with how our cake turned out. I was beautiful. We met with Carol a little less than a year before our wedding and browsed through some of her pictures. We identified certain things that we liked from various cakes and she created exactly what we wanted.

Our cake was beautiful but it was not exactly what we had asked for, Carol told us she could do the icing a certain way for us and it was not done that way at all.

Not what I expected...

I purchased a custom cake from Carol's Cakes for a 50th birthday celebration for a co-worker, and was met with disastrous results. The cake was ordered for February 24, 2025 for a birthday party, since the shop is not open on Mondays, (which is the date my event was scheduled for), I picked up the cake myself on Saturday the 22nd. Paid off the remaining portion of my bill, picked up the cake, and returned home, stored the cake in the fridge, checked on the cake the next morning realizing immediately, there was a problem, noticed a large grease spot on the front of the storage box, and as my gut feeling told me it was catastrophic, the top cake split into 3 separate portions and slid off the bottom layer, I then removed the cake onto the counter top, and was as bad as I could have expected, all 4 sides of the box completely covered on the outside with a grease mark, cake destroyed! Contacted the owner about the situation, and she conveyed to me that she was out of town, and would be back on Monday, waited almost an entire week to hear back before I posted this review to see if she would contact me back, but never heard anything. The price of the cake is not an issue for me ($177), it was just the way I felt as I was brushed off. Ordered cakes in the past from Carol's when they were located in Center under the original owner, and always got quality cakes, no issues. I will attach several images to show you what my purchase ended up being in the end, couldn't even present the cake too embarrassed.

Although the cake was tasty from what I hear, the cake topper was a cheap wooden letter from michael's that was painted. My mother-in-law offered to buy the cake topper on her own to guarantee we would get the one we wanted yet the owner insisted she would buy it yet it was nothing close to what it was supposed to be. The cake topper is almost as important as the cake so we were definitely disappointed with that. The designs on the cake were nice but having an ugly topper just ruined it.
