I honestly can’t say enough AMAZING things about Megan and her team at Carolina Music Planner! It was always my dream to have a Disney wedding and for the music to sound like Disney’s philharmonic. I never thought it was possible…until I met Megan. She worked with us to create a custom set list for our ceremony and arranged an 10 piece orchestra for us. The music was absolutely amazing! I mean it actually sounded like I was walking through Disney World. Her music brought tears to my eyes because it was so beautiful. I felt like I was picked up and placed in the middle of a Disney movie. I cannot thank you enough for making my dreams come true and making me feel like a real life princess. Great Ceremony & Cocktail Hour Duo

Magical piano playing and easy booking coordination
Megan was a joy to coordinate with when booking our solo pianist for our wedding. We wanted to add live music to our pre-ceremony and cocktail hour playlist, and I had a few questions on what duos might sound best and Megan was extremely helpful and responsive in answering all my questions and guiding us in the right direction for the sounds and vibe we wanted to achieve. We ended up going with a solo pianist, and Tayler, our pianist sounded MAGICAL. She added the perfect backdrop to our mountain wedding. And my husband surprised me with a song he had learned and memorized on the piano and Tayler so generously let him play it on her keyboard. If I had to do this all over again, I would absolutely book with Carolina Music Planner again, and you should too!

Perfect addition to our ceremony and cocktail hour!
We are so happy that we hired a strong duet from Carolina Music Planner for our wedding morning! Guests loved them and my brother even said it was one of his favorite parts was listening to the pop cover songs! They even were able to add a last minute request that we had to the ceremony for our unity symbol. Carolina Music Planner provided a violinist and a cellist for my son’s wedding at Gaines Lodge. To say they were awesome is an understatement. When provided with a special request, they were able to adapt the song to fit the occasion.They played for the ceremony and continued through dinner. Our instrumentalists were amazing! We had an interracial wedding with a Hindu ceremony in Asheville, NC and our trio played a diverse set list over the course of several hours. They first played the "Wedding Stars & Rings" and "Sweet Carolina" set lists for the prelude prior to our wedding ceremony. They then had a few Hindi songs they played for the processional. They then moved onto "Tonight's Gonna be a Good Night" and "Viva La Bruno and Ed", 2 hip hop, R&B and pop set lists, which were a huge hit! Finally, they did an impromptu collaboration with a tabla player (indian musical instrument) for 2 more Hindi songs. We could not be happier with their performance and broad musical range. And Megan was amazing to coordinate with (super responsive and helpful in selecting music)!

Our wedding planner recommended Carolina Music Planners to play the instrumentals for our wedding ceremony. They were great to work with and played beautifully at the ceremony! We had a "get to know each other" meeting early on and they were super accommodating and happy to help us work out what would fit our ceremony best. They have a huge variety of instrumentals that they can perform which made even picking our music fun. Once we picked our songs out, they even found a special version of a song for my wife to walk down the aisle to. After we had our songs picked, they helped us cut our music down so that it would fit the amount of time that we had and the music they played during our ceremony was perfect. You could tell what each song was and the instrumentals sounded beautiful!!

I'm the girl who didn't dream about her wedding dress growing up but DID dream about her ceremony music. I always had a vision of what I wanted, including specific songs and vocals, and fulfilling that was high on my priority list. Megan with Carolina Music Planner, and Hannah Kaminer, our incredible performer, absolutely blew me out of the water. Hannah put together a great pre- and post- set, and absolutely blew us away with each of our specific song requests for the ceremony. My husband even cried (he never cries). Megan was super easy to work with and patient despite our multiple reschedules (covid), and I never worried that any details were missed. They are incredible professionals and incredible artists!

I’m SO glad I had Carolina music planner at my ceremony. They created the most beautiful ambiance & everyone told me after the wedding how great they were. I walked down the aisle to Love Story by Taylor Swift and it could not have been more perfect. I was nervous at first that it would be too upbeat but they worked their magic and it sounded so good!! We also had a bit of a rain scare but they were flexible with us and performed after the rain went away. If you’re on the fence about having live music for your ceremony I say it’s absolutely worth it.

Carolina Music Planner was recommended as one of the vendors for the ceremony music for my wedding from my planner. Our wedding was on the front lawn at the Biltmore Estate, so we chose a 9 piece ensemble. Carolina Music Planner had an extensive amount of songs to choose from, which can make the decisions of what to play somewhat hard for me. After a phone call with Megan, I created my own list of songs I liked and she pieced together what would flow best while adding some additional options for flow. It was absolutely amazing and the range of music the musicians can play is very very impressive. All the guests were commenting how great they were! We played anything from Metallica, oldies, and pop!

Carolina Music Planner absolutely killed it for us. Planning, payments, communication- everything was just so easy. We have received so many compliments on how absolutely incredible the ceremony and cocktail hour music were and I honestly could not imagine that day without the gorgeous music that we had. We did a cello/violin combo and they were perfection on the songs we chose. Hearing my friends giggle from the other room when Zombie by The Cranberries came on while my dad and I were getting lined up was the best- I knew everyone was enjoying it. Dad and I walked out to Bittersweet Symphony and it was absolutely stunning, and my husband and I walked out to Kiss from a Rose. During the cocktail reception, I kept hearing people go "Wait is this Metallica?!" and so on was the very best. The playlist was just so great and it truly made the more formal parts of the day better than I could have imagined.

Carolina Music Planner was a Godsend! My husband and I planned our wedding remotely and did not have any music connections in the Greenville area. I was referred to Megan by a vendor I found online that was already booked. I was immediately impressed by how organized and easy the process was. Since CMP was performing for both the wedding and the reception, I went through the online playlists thoroughly and sent in my selections. Megan was delightfully responsive with suggestions to make the music fit the occasion perfectly. The weather the day of the event was clear but cold. Words cannot describe how happy we are that we hired Carolina Music Planner to be apart of our special day!! Everyone was blown away with Megan and Michelle's talent and how much it added to the ceremony, cocktail hour and our dinner. The entire hiring and planning process was so easy! They worked with us on the playlist, and we were able to make some very special requests. Most of our songs were not conventional, and Megan and Michele made them sounded so elegant. At one point during dinner, I noticed they were playing one of my all time favorite songs and it made my tear up! I had to run up and give them a hug afterwards. All of our guests loved them, and they really went above and beyond for us! By the end of the night, we had made two new best friends!!

Carolina Music Planner was such a great choice for our wedding music. We purchased the ceremony and cocktail hour package and it was absolutely perfect. Talented and Versatile
Planning with Carolina Music Planner was a breeze. Megan was prompt with providing details and answers to my questions. We loved they variety of music that they provided. We love many traditional songs, but also were able to include more modern pieces. Our only disappointment is that we (the bride and groom) did not get to listen to them more because we were taking photos! We were super pleased with their performance and professionalism, and it added a special touch to our ceremony and cocktail hour. Thank you!

Our wedding band was AMAZING!!!! Under the Sun - with Carolina Music Planning. They totally brought down the house, learned crazy custom songs for us, and did fantastic renditions. Such talent and personal touch. We would recommend them to everyone - so versatile and worth every penny!

Perfect choice for music!
Absolutely perfect in every sense. Megan was SO helpful and nice during the planning process, and Patrick and Chelsea were phenomenal. As I was taking pictures during cocktail hour, I didn’t get to hear them perform but I heard raving reviews from my guests.

We had a violinist and a cellist and they did such a wonderful job! We requested and paid for two additional songs and they performed them seamlessly! They have amazing talented musicians and they were an awesome addition to our special day. I would highly recommend!!

Carolina Music Planner "A Must Have for Wedding Venue"
My daughter’s “fairytale wedding” at the farm at Old Edwards in Highlands, North Carolina was absolutely PERFECT thanks in big part to the incredible talents provided by Carolina Music Planner. Megan Johnson Barnes and her talented associates provided the music for both our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. We chose to book the harp quartet and all I can say is that the music was stunningly beautiful! From our first contact, Megan was so helpful and informative. She was always prompt in returning emails and always so patient towards the bride and her mother in regard to just about everything: music selections, set list options, special requests, and even music tempos! An absolute professional and A+ caliber musician right here in the heart of North Carolina. Carolina Music Planner is a MUST HAVE if you are planning a wedding. These talented musicians made my daughter’s wedding day extra special! Our guests are still talking about the beautiful music!

Absolutely amazing!
Megan made my sister's dream wedding a reality. The music was phenomenal. The orchestra was perfect. DJ Vinny was great. Everything was curated to perfection. It was as if The Biltmore turned into something out of a Disney movie. I legitimately felt as if I was in Disney World. Having worked in the music industry for a long time, I can honestly say this was one of the best events I've ever seen put together.

Beautiful music at our ceremony and cocktail hour
We initially hired a violinist for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and that fell through a few months prior to our wedding. I was recommended to use Carolina Music Planner from a group on Facebook. When I reached out, Megan Johnson-Barnes was so timely in responding to my inquiry and even got on the phone with me to discuss what we were looking for and to walk me through our options. While we initially planned to have a violinist, she sold us on going with a cello and keyboard duo- something we never would have considered. She sent us a few samples to listen to and we loved it. We are so happy that we decided to go that route - it was a little more unique and our guests loved the music at our wedding. Megan was great to work with - she was very responsive and accommodating to what we were looking for to make our vision a reality. The ceremony was beautiful thanks to our musicians and made the cocktail hour so much more special. Anyone who is looking for musicians for their wedding - I can promise you that you will be beyond happy with their services so you can look no further.

Megan and her team made our wedding feel like a wedding!
We had a string trio playing gorgeous music for our wedding, and Megan also coordinated a DJ for us! We were preparing our wedding during COVID and didn't know if we'd be able to have dancing, and when we started thinking we could, Megan found a great DJ for us at relatively last minute (Ryan Barber!!). The ceremony musicians played such beautiful music for us and really transformed the space and set the mood. And Megan worked with us and my sister and she's so available and open and supportive. They were great.

Simply Elegant!
The folks at Carolina Music Planner were so easy to work with for our wedding this past weekend. We had a cellist and violinist for our wedding ceremony. I had many guests say how lovely the preceremony music was. We had a string trio from Carolina Music Planner at our ceremony and cocktail hour at our May 2021 wedding on the rooftop at Highland Brewing in Asheville, NC.
Megan was an absolute pleasure to work with and the musicians were amazing!! Walking down the aisle to a string rendition of "Your Song" gave me all the feels and I don't think it would have felt nearly as special without it.
The live string music was the highlight of the evening for many of our guests - thank you for helping to make our wedding extra special!

Megan was fantastic to work with from the start! She was very responsive and recommended a package for our ceremony and reception that fit our budget after hearing our needs. Our musicians, Jorge and Elizabeth, were fantastic! They learned two custom pieces that we requested and knocked them out of the park! You know how window treatments can be seen as the jewelry on a home? Live musicians are the difference between upscale sophistication and home made ceremony.

Choosing Carolina Music Planner for our ceremony and cocktail hour was one of the easiest decisions we made. Megan was amazing and went above and beyond from the first time we spoke over the phone when she offered recommendations for other vendors (we had a destination wedding). The questionnaire that is sent out after booking is easy to complete and helps you plan out your musically selections perfectly. Teresa and Emmalee played beautifully and we received rave reviews from our guests on this violin and cello duo’s performance. Soundtrack to our fairytale!
Carolina Music Planner is a top notch vendor! Megan was so kind and responsive to my (many) emails. Most Amazing Music!
We had a cello/harp duo for our wedding ceremony and they agreed to play at our cocktail hour, even though it was in a different location. Megan was a delight to work with and even learned two songs that my husband and I requested! The duo was amazing and added such a nice touch to our day! Even our guests were gushing over their performance. Our only regret is that we didn’t book them for a longer time period!

Choosing Carolina Music Planner for our wedding was one of our best and easiest decisions! I reached out via email and then had a phone conversation with Megan, the owner. I loved talking with her and learning about the variety of packages they offer. My engagement was relatively short, so I was thankful that CMP had a large team and still had available musicians for my date. Megan's model is so organized; I loved browsing and choosing from the thoughtfully pre-arranged set lists for our cocktail hour.
When COVID-19 shifted our plans and we changed venues, Megan was flexible and accommodating, and always pleasant to communicate with. I was SO happy that she was the cellist at my wedding - meeting her in person and hearing her play was so special! She and Teresa, the violinist, were wonderful. Exactly what we were looking for in ceremony music. They sounded amazing, listening to our desire for romantic, sweet music for the ceremony and then some jazzier, upbeat tunes for the cocktail party. Very beautiful sound and would absolutely recommend!

Stunning cello music by Lauren!
Lauren played cello for our ceremony and cocktail hour and we couldn't have picked anyone better! Lauren was super sweet and the music was beyond amazing!!! She was very professional, played every piece we requested, and the cello music was absolutely perfect for the venue. The music for both events was gorgeous. Also, Megan was great at coordinating and communicating beforehand. We would highly recommend Carolina Music Planner for any event!

Megan was so easy to work with and did such a great job at my wedding, I was actually sad I wasn’t able to hear the cello and harp music at cocktail hour so I snuck around closer to listen! I received so many compliments on their work and would highly recommend them to anyone. Also, I should mention that Megan gave up her birthday night to play my wedding. Happy belated birthday!

Absolutley Beautiful Music!
We could not have been more pleased with Megan and Michelle playing a duo of cello and harp for our daughters wedding! They are both amazingly talented musicians and added that extra special touch to the ceremony. Professional, friendly and very easy to work with in every step of the planning- picking out the music we wanted played, timing of such etc. We received so many compliments from our guest about the quality of the music that was played. I would highly recommend them and would most definitely hire them again!

Hiring Carolina Music Planner was truly the best decision we made for our wedding day! Beginning with my initial phone call with Megan, she was full of so much energy and passion, we had no doubt we wanted to work with them. She was extremely responsive, helpful and accommodating throughout the entire planning process which is invaluable to a bride-to-be. We chose a harp and cello duo and simply cannot put into words how incredibly talented and wonderful these two ladies are! The element of beauty and elegance their music added to our special day is indescribable. Meghan was so helpful in planning what songs to have played at the ceremony and was very responsive to all my questions I had. They also had awesome playlists to choose from for our cocktail hour. String duo & DJ
Carolina Music Planner provided a cellist, violinist, & DJ for our wedding this month. The string duo was beautiful and the DJ & his wife were fun and kept our crowd dancing most of the night. They stayed on cue with our timeline and were flexible with the details. We had a specific playlist that we had been curating for a year that he drew from in a way that made sense. Megan was easy to communicate with and made the process less stressful with questionnaires to fill out regarding our preferences.

Seamless Communication, Beautiful Music!
Of all our vendors for our August 10, 2019 wedding, Megan was the most responsive and helpful in her communication. She worked with us to create a tailored music package that included beautiful string arrangements for our ceremony and cocktail hour and a dance band for our reception. Her prices were fair and she was respectful of our budget. It was so nice to be able to have one point of contact for all of the wedding music. We are so thankful we met Megan and can't recommend her team at Carolina Music Planners enough!!

Magical touch!
Carolina Music Planner was perfect for our garden wedding! We definitely didn’t think strings would be in our budget but they are so reasonably priced and the atmosphere their music adds is value way beyond what you’ll pay. On top of it they were so easy to work with and seemed genuinely excited to share in our wedding day. So happy we made the decision to book with them! Barn Wedding
Violinist didn’t even have sheet music for the Star Wars song we choose and he knocked it out of the park..so talented! The DJ’s were so much fun and played exactly what we wanted and anything anyone requested. Thank you all!

Awesome ceremony music in the asheville area
What a fantastic group to work with! I highly recommend Megan in the Asheville and North Carolina area! She was so accommodating and listened to all of my requests! Her group was so fantastic they even learned a 70s song for my husband and I to walk down the aisle after our announcement as man and wife! They were the best! So wish we had a videographer to listen to her beautiful performance in full! My guest raves about how wonderful the group sounded!

I highly recommend Carolina Music Planner! We booked them last minute and Megan scrambled to do everything she could to find us a musician for our big day! I had a very unique song request for the bridal march and the musician followed through without a hitch, and I couldn't have asked for more! Their music selection is vast and they can play just about anything you can imagine, I definitely recommend booking CMP as soon as possible, and I know that if I ever needed a musician for a large event again, these guys are my top pick!
