The venue was perfect for our day. The owners John and Nancy are extremely helpful and will help you every step of the way. The cost of the venue does include chairs and tables (linens are extra). They even have decorations from other weddings that you can use to supplement your own. One of the best experiences with our vendors. -

We can’t thank John and Nancy enough for their kindness, professionalism, and flexibility during our recent wedding at the Ribbon Mill. They are just the nicest people! We can’t say enough good things about them as owners or the venue itself. It is absolutely beautiful with the rustic industrial vibe for which we were searching - exposed brick and wood floors. Our guests loved the space! Thanks again John and Nancy! -

Perfect for my wedding!
Nancy and John were absolutely wonderful to work with. They are both organized, adaptable, and flexible to the needs of the bride and groom. During the day they were present and helpful from start to finish. Also, the venue itself is so beautiful on the inside, that we felt we only needed minimal decorations to bring it to life for the wedding day!
If you're looking to have your ceremony and reception in just one venue, this is a great location to do that. The reception room can be split in half so during the ceremony, they hide the tables on one half of the room. After the ceremony, guests can move into the adjacent cocktail room while the reception room is being opened up and tables are being moved. This made our wedding run extremely smoothly! Would highly recommend. -

The perfect day
I loved having our wedding at The Ribbon Mill! Ms Nancy was amazing to work with. She was so kind and wonderful to me and my whole family! The venue was just perfect for us! I’d do it all over again and would pick the Ribbon Mill every single time. -

John and Nancy were quick to answer our questions and help us with anything we needed. They made everything hassle free and truly helped make our day so amazing! The Carlisle Ribbon Mill is a beautiful and wonderful venue. -

We were looking for a reception space that was unique and capable of being customized to fit the vision we had for our dream wedding and we found all of that and more at the Ribbon Mill. We worked with Sarah for almost 2 years and she was always available to answer any questions or concerns that we had. She went above and beyond to make sure our day was exactly the way we wanted.
The week before our wedding day we experienced every couples nightmare..my mom became critically ill and we needed to push the date back. We called the Sunday before and without hesitation were given a list of dates in the upcoming months that were available and told not to worry about anything except taking care of Mom, the rest would be worked out later. I can not begin to express how truely bleesed and grateful we felt to have not only the understanding but the support from Sarah. Things worked out so flawlessly and a month later we were able to finally have our day and it was completely perfect-you would have never known what we had gone through the previous month.
We absolutely recommend the Carlisle Ribbon Mill to anyone looking for a gorgeous blank canvas to paint their fairytale wedding! -

Kathryn Sent on 12/09/2009I love that this venue can be dressed up in any way. It felt urban and raw, but with lots of lighting became warm and could have been a loft in any city. My mom did all the coordinating directly with the venue and would sometimes wait for a few days to hear back. The people who run this place have other jobs -- this is something on the side. I rated professionalism a 3 because the week of the wedding, we incurred an extra $200 charge so the rentals/caterer could come in on Friday to set up for the Saturday wedding. I thought this was a little unfair to come up at the last minute, apparently a new policy. -

The venue is gorgeous. There is no denying that. Nancy and John were super nice in the beginning, but of late our opinions of them have drastically changed.........In October 2019 both myself, my fiancé and my parents toured the Carlisle Ribbon Mill as a place to hold our wedding for December 5, 2020. At that time, we placed down a deposit of $500.00 to hold the date. However, since the owners who run the venue have told us they can only accommodate 25 people per Governor Wolf's mandate (no mandate of 25 indoors or 250 outdoors exists - the Federal Judge ruled it unconstitutional and denied his appeal to - but anyways). Local venues around here are all running with more than 25 people indoors. When we put a deposit down it was under the agreement that we could use that venue for our ceremony and reception with a capacity of 212 people (our guest list 200). In addition, even allowing 25 people the pricing to hold our wedding there was not reduced from $4,000.00+. I reached out to Nancy in August 2020 because I received news from a wedding vendor source that she was not holding weddings at her location at the Carlisle Ribbon Mill through the end of the year and I was not notified of this. Nancy assured me that she was still holding weddings and that was not true. However, in my recent filing with the Attorney General she made it aware in her response that she has had to reschedule weddings March through December 2020. When was I going to be notified that she could not hold my wedding? At the end of October 2020 when she suggested I hold my invitations from being send out until (mind you a month before my wedding). On September 8, 2020 I sent a letter requesting our money back. She stated it was non-refundable. However, the Force Majeure clause in the contract (a contract that was never actually signed by any of us and Nancy admitted that in correspondence) states that in the event the wedding cannot take place on the scheduled date, that the venue will extend to renter to rent the space on another date. If both parties cannot agree on a reschedule date any money including the deposit would be refunded back the renter. Nancy confirmed I did not have a signed contract with her and refused to refund the money stating I cannot use the Force Majeure clause because we do not actually have a signed agreement. Well if we don't have a signed agreement how can you hold my money for an event you can't even have for me? I filed with Attorney General. I just filed with the BBB. My next step is to file a civil complaint with Judge Birbeck. It is not right to hold someone's money when you cannot provide them the service that was agreed on.
