Best Photographer EVER

I cannot say enough amazing things about Carla. She is absolutely the BEST of the BEST and I couldn't recommend her more. Not only is Carla an incredible photographer, but she was also clear with communication at all times, on top of every detail, so incredibly fun & warm and so much more. We did an engagement shoot and her and immediately clicked. She made us feel comfortable and amazing and it truly showed in the pictures. We just had our wedding this past weekend and it went off without a hitch. She was absolutely perfect and we can't wait to see our wedding photos!!!

November 2020 Wedding

Carla is the most caring of people and it definitely shows in the moments she is able to capture through her lens! Our daughter reviewed so many photographers' works prior to selecting Carla, and having seen the engagement photos, she chose the perfect person!!
As a mother, it was precious to see how Carla helped pose each person, and make certain their hair was perfect for the image.
I won't post any images yet, as anything I might have taken would pale in comparison to Carla's eye!
If you are looking for a photographer who cares, has an amazing eye for light and her subjects, and is a genuinely wonderful person, look no further!

Carla Gates perfectly captured all the love and joy from our wedding day in October 2016. Leading up to the wedding, she really took the time to get to know my husband and I, and what was important to us in documenting our special day. Carla is incredibly creative and has exquisite attention to detail - whether its the angle she had me tilt the bouquet, or little props she used to photography our rings - all these little details add such a richness to the photos. What I love most about our photos, however, is how she really captured the personalities and emotions of the 'person' behind all the dresses, tuxes, flowers, and details. You can see our love story unfolding within each chapter of the entire day. When I look at the photos, I'm truly experiencing the day again because you can really feel the love between my husband and I, and our family and friends. Carla is a very warm, kind person and she kept us very relaxed throughout the entire day with her calm demeanor and sense of humor. I think that relaxation and comfort level with Carla really comes across in the natural look and feel of the photos. After the wedding, Carla was very responsive while we were waiting for the photos and even gave me and my mom a 'sneak peek' of a few photos so we could send them out in Christmas Cards! The layout for the albums that she designed was beautiful as well, and she was very helpful and responsive with our questions and comments as we made a few revisions. Overall I can't say enough wonderful things about Carla. The pure love and joy from our wedding day shines through our photographs, and I am so grateful to have these to cherish our entire lives!

Carla was absolutely amazing. She was recommended to me and once we met, I knew that she would be able to capture my day perfectly. She sure delivered! She captured everything exactly how I wanted it. I loved that her photography was light and captured all the vibrant colors. She was so easy to work with and made it fun for Powell and me. Every single person in our wedding party commented to me on how much they loved her and how great she was to work with. I would definitely recommend Carla for your wedding photographer.

I don’t even know where to begin! I’ll just start by saying that we could not be happier with our choice to use Carla Gates for our engagement and wedding pictures! All of our pictures are absolutely beautiful. We have received countless comments on how stunning they are and we couldn’t agree more. Carla has an unbelievable talent for capturing each moment perfectly. We can’t even pick our favorites because we love them all! After researching photographers for months, I met with Carla and knew right away that she would be perfect. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she is also a super fun and wonderful person to be around. Carla makes everyone feel at ease and truly made taking pictures so much fun. Not only that, but she is incredibly attentive to detail and very professional. She was flexible when any plans needed changing and was very quick to respond to any questions and concerns. She made sure that every detail was in line before the wedding day, sending timelines and double checking everything with us. She gave great suggestions for making the day run smoother and overall helped ensure that our day flowed perfectly. On our wedding day, everyone kept commenting on how awesome she was. Carla is the best. She made sure that my wedding had no hiccups by providing my husband and I with a timeline of our special day. She was there every step of the way and she even bustled my dress. We can't imagine our engagement and wedding without Carla! She did a stunning job capturing our wedding day and made me feel so relaxed and beautiful throughout the day. Everyone who sees our engagement and wedding photos go on and on about how beautiful they are, all thanks to Carla! She was willing to talk through different ideas I had and even convinced me that doing a first look was the best decision for the day. I'm so glad she did because it was my favorite moment! Carla is AMAZING. She was the photographer for our destination wedding at Dromoland Castle in Ireland. I couldn't find a photographer there that I liked as much as Carla so I'm glad she could make it out there! On the wedding day, she captured every moment beautifully. She really has a talented eye for taking stunning pictures. Our family and friends even commented on how dedicated she was and she's super friendly. I am very picky about pictures so I was nervous to see how they turned out. When Carla sent us our photos, my jaw dropped at how beautiful they were! We love so many of them that we can't decide which ones to display in our home. That is a wonderful problem to have! Everyone loves our photos! I spent weeks looking for the perfect photographer. Save yourself the time and book Carla ASAP! Trust that she'll do an amazing job and you'll love looking at your wedding photos. :)

Carla was the perfect photographer for our Amalfi Coast wedding in Ravello, Italy. When I first saw Carla’s portfolio, I fell in love with her work. Every photo radiated a soft, romantic, magical light. We initially questioned the cost, but are now so happy that we chose Carla. Hiring Carla was seriously one of the best vendor decisions we made for our October wedding. From start to finish, working with her was an absolutely fantastic experience. I was an out of town bride planning remotely, and Carla was incredibly responsive via email. Her online questionnaire was incredibly detailed and helped to outline what we wanted most out of our wedding photos. On the actual day of the wedding, she served as a photographer and so much more. From helping me fastening the buttons of my dress, to adjusting my veil, to fixing makeup smudges, she was truly a right-hand woman on the day of. I don't consider myself someone very comfortable in front of a camera, but Carla is GREAT at directing a shot, telling you how to hold your head and where to look, and making everything look natural. We were over-the-moon thrilled with our photos and couldn't recommend Carla enough to anyone looking for a superstar photographer.

We used Carla for our wedding this past May at Lake Burton. We found her through a blog post of pictures she had taken of a wedding at our same venue that were gorgeous and she delivered nothing less. Our pictures from our wedding are so beautiful and we have people complimenting them all the time. She did such a great job and was so easy to work with. She gave great recommendations for the timing of things and made sure we got to our reception as quickly as possible. I would definitely recommend Carla! She was awesome :)

Carla took our engagement photos and our wedding day photos. She was so professional, responsive, and very easy to work with and not to mention extremely talented. She answered every email and questions I threw her way. Our engagement photos were exactly what we wanted and were gorgeous! Planning for wedding day she spoke to me on the phone to get every shot detail we wanted and created a timeline. She arrived early on our wedding day and got every single shot and detail we wanted taken. She worked so very well with our Church and our wedding planner. From the first photo I saw of Carla's, I knew that I loved her style of photography and I was interested instantly in having her shoot our wedding. From the moment I met her, I was sold! Carla is the sweetest soul, and was so easy to work with, I felt like I had known her forever- which is a great trait for a wedding photographer. She definitely did her research on my husband and I with her pre-wedding questionnaires and made sure she knew exactly what we were wanting out of our photos. On the day of, Carla and her assistant arrived early and started shooting instantly. Her calming presence was such a plus on our hectic wedding day, and she tried to make our shoots as relaxed and natural as possible. She truly captured my husband and I in our natural state and for that I am forever thankful. Our wedding photos are so perfect, that I can't say it enough, and can't look at them enough either ;) . There are tons of wedding photographers to pick from, yes, but believe me that Carla Gates and her team at Carla Gates photography are the best in the market! I could have not been more happy with the whole process and what our end result was. She was always on time, there the day of ahead of time, and kept things on schedule without me noticing. Our pictures were so romantic. Literally I am SO beyond picky about pictures of myself but I seriously loved every one of my husband and I and if I could, would have blown them all up on canvas for the wall. Carla is top notch and so great to work with, hands down!

Carla is THE BEST. I can not stress enough how happy I am that we picked Carla to shoot our Georgian Terrace wedding in December. She was the first vendor we hired, and from the start of our engagement all the way until the wedding, she was such a pleasure to work with. I can't imagine spending our wedding day with anybody else!

I was casually googling different weddings at the Georgian Terrace to see what ours might look like, and found Carla's blog with a wedding she had shot there. DONE & DONE. We hired her immediately. No need to even look further!!

She is so talented. She knows EXACTLY what she is doing, and guides you the entire way. "Look this way, put your arm down, lean back." So as awkward as you might feel in front of the camera, she is behind the camera creating AMAZING images. It helps that she is so personable and easy to talk too. You will feel like you have known her forever, so acting silly and lovey in front of the camera with each other will be easy.

She is really just an amazing person to work with, and captured our wedding day just as magical as it felt. Thank you for EVERYTHING!

Carla is an amazing photographer. She was such a great person to work with. Not only was she a photographer whenever something went wrong at our wedding she was always there fixing the problem. Her pictures are beautiful and some of the best I have ever seen. I would recommend her to anyone.

BEST choice we ever made! After working with Carla with our engagement photos, we knew she was THE one to use for our wedding. Not only does she do amazing pictures, she is such an incredible, fun and easy person to work with. She always made us feel so comfortable. I honestly believe that your photographer is one of the most important decisions to make during the wedding process because for one, she is someone you will be with all day and you will forever have these pictures as memories. From the moment that I first engaged with Carla, I knew that our wedding photos were going to turn out beautifully. She holds the whole experience of the wedding with such sacredness from preparation through the delivery of the photos. Her energy is easy, playful, joyful and that came shining through in the photos. She took special care to make sure that we captured the small moments and the depth of our relationship. She has an incredible capacity to both listen to what we wanted in our photos AND see the magic in a space to open up even more possibility for the photos. Carla Gates photographed our wedding and did a phenomenal job! She is an extremely talented photographer with a true eye for beauty and was able to capture every detail of the day perfectly. Throughout the wedding planning process, she was very professional and provided great direction in helping us prepare for our wedding day. Carla was highly recommended by our event facility, Vinewood. She was a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. She was very detailed and thoughtful from sending Starbucks gift cards to ease the stress of wedding planning to calling to check on us every step of the way. My husband and I felt so comfortable with Carla on our wedding day. She brought out the best emotions in us and captured them all. While planning our wedding, our main focus was on photography. We wanted beautiful photographs that would constantlty remind us of what an amazing moment it was, & boy do they remind us! I couldn't have imagined our big day without Carla! From the very beginning of meeting and scheduling engagement pictures, she was nothing but accommodating and helpful. She made everything seem seamless and easy, which was so great since all other aspects of wedding planning were stressful. Our favorite part of working with Carla was her personality, she is someone you absolutely love to be around. We always felt so comfortable with her and really trusted her ideas. She made the entire experience a blast, and we were so sad when the big day was over that we wouldn't be seeing her around anymore. When we got our final pictures from her, we really could not believe how beautiful they were. It was more than we ever imagined and she captured everything so beautifully!! Carla was one of our favorite vendors. This was for a few reason-- 1. Her work is phenomenal. She can take an ordinary setting and make it look magical. Just think what she can do to a magical setting. Absolutely everyone looked like a rockstar and she did a great job capturing every moment 2. For pictures that would typically be posed, she did a great job creating a moment and then capturing it. She made every moment comfortable and real. No awkwardness with this photographer! 3. I worked with Carla in January to photograph my bridal portraits. My wedding photographer was not local and I wanted to have pictures taken prior to my wedding day. I found Carla on a wedding website and absolutely loved her photograpahy style and pictures. I was SO happy with the end result! I was able to get so many pictures that I would not have had time to get on my wedding day. Carla was also able to get me the portraits back early to have at my reception. Carla is not only an incredible talent, but she is extremely thoughtful in her approach. She very detail oriented leading up to the day of the event, which is extremely helpful for busy brides trying to balance wedding day events. Carla Gates was such an amazing photographer. As soon as we met her we knew she would be the perfect choice for our wedding. She really went the extra mile to ensure we got exactly what we wanted, and worked with us to find an option that stayed within the budget. Carla is nothing short of incredible, and this would actually be an understatement. She is truly one of the most amazing, inspiring, passionate, extremely talented and sweet people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with. She was the very first photographer my husband and I met with, and she was actually the last. We left our meeting with her feeling 100% certain that she was in fact going to be our wedding photographer.

She not only made my wedding planning process easier just by being part of it; she made it easier by paying such close attention to every detail I had nothing to stress about. I know any bride-to-be can appreciate this.

I have to say, for me it was more than just finding a wedding photographer that I felt could take amazing pictures (which she absolutely does). It was also about surrounding myself with great people on the biggest day of my life. Carla is such a special person, and you would be doing yourself a huge favor if you chose her to capture your special day. My husband and I have looked at our wedding pictures countless times since the wedding, and we can truly relive our entire day through the pictures she took.

My husband and I are both very into photography. Before our wedding we would spend hours looking at websites finidng "the one" who would capture our day. It wasn't until we found Carla that we both knew we had found magic. Carla is a true artist. Her photography is beautiful, but more importantly, her energy and enthusiasm brings joy to her work and those who have the pleasure to work with her.

My husband and I had lots of ideas and we both had pictures in our minds of how we wanted things to look. Amazingly, Carla not only met those expectations, but blew them away. Her eye for detail and beauty makes her great at her job, but her personality makes her a pro.

Carla made our wedding day all the better because we never had a moment of stress about how the photos would turn out. Her easy energy put us at ease and made us comfortable enough to be ourselves. She is brilliant and we were so lucky to have had her be a part of our day!

I couldn't have asked for better pictures of our wedding day. Having looked at Carla's photography beforehand, I knew she was going to be great and she most definitely was. There is truly only one word to describe Carla Gates Photography: PERFECT! From the first time we spoke with Carla on the phone we knew we had found our photographer. We live in Oklahoma and were planning our wedding from afar. Planning a wedding is certainly a nerve-racking and stressful process, and that is compounded when you have to make plans without physically being there or meeting in person with various vendors. Carla helped put our minds at ease with her professionalism and her genuine excitement and friendliness! We could tell that she was thrilled to be photographing our wedding, and she went out of her way to make sure every detail was covered. A couple weeks before the big day, Carla called to walk through the schedule. I felt so reassured knowing that every shot I could imagine would be covered! She even sent us a Starbucks gift card in the mail to use on our drive to the wedding! On our wedding day Carla and her second shooter Nina (who was great as well!) did not disappoint. She was right on time (early, actually) and spent the entire 8 hours shooting. She did not miss a thing. She was very thorough, crafting every shot with enthusiasm and expertise. She demonstrated poses, while incorporating traditional shots with more young and creative poses. She guided us through everything, while making sure to get shots of everything we requested. Even when we ran a little bit late at the end of the night, she stayed to make sure she captured our sparkler send-off. We received our picture cd in the mail a few weeks later, and there were over 1400 pictures on it! Carla's photos of our wedding are beautiful! The lighting in her pictures make each picture look fresh and inspired! We could not be happier with our pictures or the services that Carla offered, and are so happy that we chose her to capture our biggest day!

Carla was my favorite vendor during the planning of my wedding! Her enthusiasm for my big day as well as her suggestions on how to make the day go smooth, were much appreciated. Even after a year and a half since my wedding, I still get random people who have seen my wedding photos on Facebook to comment on how my pictures are the best they have ever seen. Your wedding day is something you dream about all your life. I really needed a detailed oriented photogrpher. Carla is all about details! I interviewed a few photographers before her and she was the perfect match for my husband and I. I did not want pictures of just people. I wanted artistic pictures. If you want creative, fun, and gorgeous wedding pictures she is worth your time and money. She's a hard worker and is shows in her work. That is a quality that is not seen too to often.

If there was a way to give a 10 out of 5 we would! Carla Gates Photography was the 2nd best decision we made about our wedding. The first being marrying each other.
We are beyond happy with our wedding photos, not just b/c we are narcissistic and obsessed with photos of ourselves; but truthfully we love our photos b/c this photographer is really talented. Carla worked with us to think through everything before the big day. On the day we were made to feel so comfortable and natural. She arrived early, totally did all her due diligence of the grounds she'd be shooting, made sure to capitalize on every creative shot she could get. She has a beautiful vision and was quick on the turnaround. The treatment of the photographs is amazing. She hit the nail on the head with achieving the exact look we wanted. One of the tings we really respected was that before the day she asked us to "describe in a few words what we were looking for / inspired by" the output was exactly what we'd said. She heard us, has the talent and is so o pen to hearing other peoples vision and making her clients so happy. We will 100% use her for our children photoshoots (if we're blessed with them) family events and all other photo needs.

Carla was everything we wanted and more in a photographer. We initially reached out to several in the Atlanta area and just felt so comfortable with Carla. From our engagement session to our wedding day, she blew us away. My husband and I wanted to make sure we were comfortable in front of the camera and Carla definitely put us at ease.

I used Carla for my 11/9/13 wedding at the Georgian Terrace and I absolutely loved working with Carla. She did an amazing job on my pictures and was so easy to work with throughout the process; pre-wedding, wedding day and post wedding. She was very proactive throughout the whole process which I can tell you is so nice when you are planning a wedding (one less vendor you need to follow up on). When I first started looking at photographers portfolios and the prices, my first inclination was to go with the cheaper one since everything else starts to add up quickly.
