The Convention Hall is truly a blank canvas, allowing you to bring your vision to life in the most amazing way. It offers the perfect space for a celebration, with the best dance floor and an electric party atmosphere. We had an 11-piece band, and there was plenty of room for both a stage and our 255-person guest list. The venue provided the perfect balance of space and intimacy for our special day.
One of the highlights of our experience was definitely the cocktail hour on the boardwalk. It’s without a doubt the most unique and incredible feature of Convention Hall — we were treated to a breathtaking sunset over the beach, which made the moment even more memorable. The beachy atmosphere during cocktail hour, combined with the ability to personalize the interior space, gave us the best of both worlds — a stunning beach setting and endless design possibilities inside the hall.
Rachel and her team at Convention Hall are nothing short of AMAZING. From the very start, Rachel was an absolute dream to work with — so accommodating, thoughtful, and dedicated. She truly became our rock throughout the entire process and was our MVP on the big day. Her attention to detail, honesty, and hard work made all the difference. Rachel will be completely upfront with you and do everything in her power to ensure your vision comes to life. The staff at Convention Hall is equally fabulous, and every single person was so dedicated to making our wedding night unforgettable. We had our dream wedding at Cape May Convention Hall on June 6, 2025, and it was truly magical! From our beach ceremony to cocktail hour on the deck and in the lobby, and then our reception in the beachfront ballroom, everything was absolutely perfect.
A huge part of what made the day so special was Brittany, our venue coordinator. She was amazing to work with — always professional, kind, quick to respond, and incredibly organized. From the planning process to the day-of execution, she made everything easy and stress-free. She worked closely with us on every detail, helped coordinate with our vendors, and made sure everything flowed beautifully.
The entire team, including Rachel and the rest of the staff, went above and beyond to make the space look stunning. One of the most unforgettable parts was the gold curtain reveal during our reception entrance — the curtains drew back to reveal breathtaking ocean views and created the most magical moment.
Getting married on the beach was always a dream of mine, and Cape May Convention Hall was the perfect venue to make it a reality. The location, the views, the team — everything exceeded our expectations. We’re so grateful to Brittany and everyone who helped make our day the best ever. Highly recommend!

In early 2022, fresh off getting engaged in 2021, my then fiance, Christina, and I were looking for wedding venues in the beautiful town of Cape May NJ.
We casted a wide net to look into potential venues throughout the Cape May area when one of the first locations we noticed was the Cape May Convention Hall. Christina and I had seen and been inside the lobby of the convention center several times over the previous 6 years of being together and visiting Cape May, but never taken a deeper look. We thought it would be a beautiful location to host our wedding ceremony - on its stunning boardwalk overlooking the beach.
We came into contact with Rachel Ertle - from the Convention Hall - and begin the process. Christina and I planned our wedding date for Friday, October 4th 2024 and throughout the entire planning process - Rachel was incredibly helpful, generous and quick to respond for any of our needs.
It gave us such pride to select the Convention Hall - among the many other great venues in Cape may - because it was the only location that truly embodied what Cape May is all about - the Beach!! The beach is our favorite place and Christina and I dreamed of a beach wedding for so many years. With Rachel's help it became a reality. Plus the $500 total fee to book the venue for our ceremony was an unbelievable value!!
As the wedding got closer, Rachel helped us along the planning process so well. We could tell immediately that she is an expert in her field!
Then came our rehearsal on Thursday October 3rd 2024 and when our wedding party arrived we jumped right in and practiced - with Rachel running point - and it went smoothly. Leading up the the best day in both Christina and my life.
Having an outdoor wedding always runs the risk with weather. When we booked in October of 2022 - the thought crossed our mind that we could potentially need to pivot to inside the Convention Hall in case of inclement weather. Christina and I think the ballroom inside is absolutely stunning and have seen so many pictures of beautiful weddings located there. With that said, we still did dream of having it outside on the boardwalk.
Well, God was looking out for us and gave Christina and me a 72 degree sunny day on that Friday in October, so we were able to have our wedding ceremony outside on the boardwalk :)
Rachel was in constant communication with us the day of our wedding and made it very carefree and easy upon each of our arrivals to the Convention Hall just prior to the 3pm ceremony.
Looking very few things in life are perfect, but Christina and my wedding ceremony was that :). It was 45 minutes of the most love, excitement, tears, joy and best emotion we have ever felt. We have the most amazing pictures and memories from our wedding ceremony. I still tear up thinking about it as I right this :). So know Christina and I have been happily married for almost 6 months and we get to relish in our perfect wedding ceremony for the rest of our lives.
Thank you to the Cape May Convention Hall and Rachel for having the availability, professionalism and customer service that makes it so great.
I will recommend this location either inside or outside to anyone looking for a paradise style wedding in the south jersey area. 15/10 recommend and 5 Stars 100%!!!!Cape May Convention Hall's reply:

Booking the Convention Hall was the best decision we made for our wedding! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a venue where you can put your personal touch on your wedding day, while have the support of an incredibly helpful and professional staff that will ensure that your day runs smoothly and without stress.
Rachel and her team were so professional and excellent to work with. Rachel was super communicative for the year leading up to our wedding and was incredibly helpful during the entire planning process. On the day of, we had a few things not go exactly to plan due to one of the DJ getting a flat tire on the way to the wedding. Fortunately, Rachel's staff was ready to go and helped the DJ set up quickly so that we could stay on schedule. I basically didn't even know that it was happening which demonstrates how the team seamlessly addressed any issues that arose.
I also want to shout out the unbeatable location. Not only is this walkable to everything else in Cape May, but the location is absolutely stunning and overlooks the ocean. The large deck was so perfect for the ceremony and made it easy to have a beach wedding without having to deal with walking on sand. Dolphins jumping out of the ocean during our ceremony and the sunset cocktail hour on the deck were definitely huge highlights of the entire day!
Finally, for all those couples out there that insist on doing something DIY for your wedding (a.k.a. me) but want to have some guardrails, this is the venue for you. My friends, family, and I put in a lot of effort into creating personal touches for the event (homemade chuppah, escort cards, drink signs, cake topper, etc.). All of these details were incorporated into the day just as I imagined, which was so meaningful for us. This attention to detail is also a testament to Rachel listening to me and being able to execute at a high level.
I would highly recommend that other couples choose this venue. You are getting a lot for the price and, most importantly, you are working with a very capable team that is committed to your day going well. Best Beach Venue in Cape May
The Cape May Convention Hall is an incredible venue. We looked at seven venues in Cape May and nothing compared to the Convention Hall! It is the only venue that is actually on the beach and gives you those amazing beach wedding vibes! It is a large space that can accommodate a large wedding but is also perfect for a small or medium wedding. One thing we loved was being able to have the ceremony on the deck that overlooks the beach and the ocean. You get your beach wedding but do not have to have everyone on the sand, but you can do everything on the beach if you want. It was perfect that we could do the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at the same location. Cocktail hour on the deck with a second bar out there was a big hit with our guests. Pretty much the entire wedding spent the whole cocktail hour out there taking pictures and enjoying the view, food, and drinks. When the reception finally comes around you cannot beat the breathtaking views you get of the ocean with the amazing floor-to-ceiling windows in the back of the Convention Hall. It immediately captures your attention when you walk in. It gives you so much natural light and is beautiful as the sun goes down. When I walked in and saw the windows, I immediately knew this was the venue for us. This venue gives you such a great space for your guests. One of the cool things about the space is they build a stage for your entertainment. We wanted a fun party band for our wedding so having the stage really set the tone for the entertainment. It also gives you the ability to create a large dance floor which our guests kept full all night! Another benefit of being on the beach is it gives you amazing photos with your partner and your wedding party. It gets such great light and you also get amazing sunset photos on the deck/beach. When you book this venue, you get a blank slate. You have to bring in all your vendors which can be a little overwhelming initially. However, Rachel the Assistant Director of the Convention Hall gives you a lot of great recommendations of vendors she has worked with before that do a great job. It also allows you to control your costs more than a venue that owns everything. You can meet with multiple vendors and find one that fits your budget. The cost is comparable to the other venues we looked at and ended up being cheaper because of our ability to pick our own vendors. The other benefit of being a blank slate is the creative freedom it gives you. The different venues we looked at had their venues decorated in a certain way and we felt it would have forced us to match their theme. Rachel is incredible to work with and was so helpful through the whole planning process. She is extremely responsive and was always able to answer any question we had. Rachel and her team were amazing the day of, and we cannot thank them enough for the role they played in making our day so perfect. There are also many hotels that are all across the street that will do room blocks. This was amazing for our guests because we gave them 3 different hotels to choose from and everyone was able to walk right to the venue! We cannot recommend the Cape May Convention Hall enough! We could not have asked for a more beautiful or perfect wedding venue. Both my wife and I grew up vacationing in Cape May with our families, so once we were engaged, this was the first (and only) wedding venue that we looked at. The space is absolutely perfect for a wedding– the huge ballroom, the indoor/outdoor area for cocktail hour, the deck for the ceremony, and of course, the beautiful view of the ocean and Cape May beach. We had guests who partied on the huge dance floor all night long; some who sat on the rocking chairs and enjoyed the view of the ocean; and others who played cornhole on the deck. Perhaps the best part of this venue, though, is the coordinator Rachel. She is so personable and organized, and she and her staff made sure that every transition throughout the night ran smoothly. She was also so helpful and communicative in preparing for the wedding, communicating on all the little details and always accommodating a last minute visit to the venue (we live several hours away, so this was huge!). The venue also allows you to bring in your own alcohol, which provided us with a lot of flexibility for drinks and saved us a lot of money in the long run. We felt that the venue was very reasonably priced for all that it offered, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a beach wedding!Cape May Convention Hall's reply:

Our wedding at the Cape May Beachfront Ballroom could not have been a more perfect experience! Of course the beachfront location alone can sell this venue itself, but nothing happens without great people to work with. If we could give Rachel and the entire team 10 stars, we would. Given it's a space where the couple is responsible for hiring vendors individually, Rachel was immensely helpful when it came to recommendations and completely took over managing all parties once things were booked. She was honest about her prior experiences dealing with certain vendors, but didn't push anyone on us. We felt absolutely no pressure throughout the process, and she was extremely open to working with new vendors that hadn't done an event there before. We dealt with both instance, but it really didn't matter because Rachel and team made sure everything was seamless, regardless. All of our vendors loved dealing with Rachel and her team as well - they just make it all so easy leading up to and especially the day of. They know what they're doing and will keep you organized without micromanaging you. We wouldn't have changed a thing!Cape May Convention Hall's reply:

Phenomenal!
If you’re looking to get married at the Jersey Shore, look no further. Rachel and her team made absolute magic happen on our wedding day - truly our dreams come to life. I dreaded wedding planning but Rachel was exactly the person I needed in my corner to get me through the months and weeks up to the big day. There wasn’t a question she couldn’t answer and she made sure we were always at ease! And what can I say about the venue besides it was just a dream. The deck is a beautiful space and it all went exactly as we pictured. We got so lucky with the weather and the way Rachel & team executed our decor vision was nothing short of amazing. Cape May Convention Hall is Second to None
My wife Lindsay and I got married at The Cape May Convention Hall on 10/29/2022. We cannot begin to explain how incredible Rachel and the staff were from start to finish. From the moment we saw the venue, we were sold. From the beginning, Rachel was extremely helpful and communicative with us. On our wedding day, it felt like there was absolutely nothing for us to be responsible for except getting ourselves down the aisle. Rachel and her team were on the ball with everything - everything from the setup, to making sure we had what we needed at all times. On top of the awesome staff, you really can't beat the view! We had the perfect day together, and with our families and friends that celebrated with us. We cannot thank Rachel and her team enough for being such a huge part of our special day and special moments that we'll cherish always. The Cape May Convention Hall was a stunning venue for our September wedding. We loved that we could have our ceremony on the beach without our guests having to trek down into the sand. The deck was amazing for our ceremony. Rachel was awesome to work with and was quick to respond to any questions or emails up to the day of the wedding. We also used several of the recommended vendors and they were all fantastic as well. Everything for the wedding and the reception was set up exactly as I imagined it, and Rachel and her team made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the day. The beach out front was great for our photos, especially at sunset. We actually had some guests tell us it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to! It was truly our dream wedding. This was the only venue we looked at because I knew it was the one for us! My fiance and I loved EVERYTHING about the space, the ballroom, the balcony, the location! Rachel was amazing to work with! AMAZING!!!! The best wedding venue in Cape May!! We were a "covid couple" and initially booked the beachfront ballroom at Convention Hall back in early 2019 for a 2020 wedding. After 2 reschedules, we finally had our reception this past weekend (June 2022). I hope that no future couple has to go through reschedules and the hassles of covid, but if you do, they will be there with you the whole way. Rachel made everything so easy during the stress of reschedules and she and her team did so much for us. Finally, when the day arrived and we were really having this thing, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. There was zero stress. We chose this venue because it is actually on the beach and the views are absolutely incredible. We had the ceremony on the deck and it was gorgeous. Once inside, our guests could not get over the view of the beach from the ballroom. It's also so spacious and you have tons of freedom with decor and the layout. We had 100 guests but it holds a lot more than that. It was perfect for our large band, photobooth, and food stations - the dance floor was huge (which is exactly what we wanted and we needed it with all of the dancing)!! Beyond All Expectations
I can’t even begin to describe how absolutely amazing this venue was for our wedding. Rachel was so wonderful to work with. She was extremely helpful, very responsive & made sure we had everything we needed every step of the way. The Most Amazing View in NJ!
Our guests enjoying the sunset on the deck so close to the water was amazing. Our guests can't stop talking about the venue. Before you run to one of the hotels to choose from their "wedding programs", you have to talk to the Convention Center. They go above and beyond to help you make a wedding customized to exactly what you want. Can't say enough, our day was perfect. Simply put, Kate and the beachfront ballroom team were incredible! Since day one of booking the ballroom, Kate was super helpful and responsive checking in with us and recording all of the details that we wanted. For the day of, they made it a breeze (literally, we had a super windy beach wedding day haha) for us by coordinating with all of our vendors. You know these guys are serious when they have walkie talkies to keep everything organized :) The venue is perfect for a big wedding, we had ~220 guests and felt it was just right for seating and dancing. One of our favorite parts was the surprise entrance! We loved getting married here right on the beach and can't recommend it enough!Cape May Convention Hall's reply:

Our experience was a 10 out of 10!
Cape May Convention Hall was always my dream venue and it did NOT disappoint. As a young girl, I always dreamt of my wedding day being on the beach of Cape May where I grew up. I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing venue or staff to help make my day perfect. Several family members and friends (who have had their own kids weddings) have told us that our wedding was the BEST wedding they have ever been to. Everyone got the chills when my husband and I did the surprise curtain reveal entrance. Ask Kate about that if you are interested in an amazing entrance as the first time as Mr. & Mrs. Thank you isn’t enough to Kate and her staff. She was 7 months pregnant and went above and beyond. I thought I would be so sad when my wedding was over but everything was so perfect I couldn’t have asked for a better day. We met Pat Devlin, the wedding coordinator, on our first visit to the Hall, as we sat on the rocking chairs on the gorgeous back deck, more than a year before our wedding. From the moment we met Pat to the day after our wedding as we said goodbye, he and his staff were an absolute joy to work with. Pat always encouraged us (and our families) to pop in and look at the space, he provided invaluable information about the area/vendors, always passed along photos from weddings at the Hall for inspiration, checked in with us often to see how we were doing/how the planning was going, was always willing to accommodate any and every idea we had (my brother and sister in law created incredible lighting for the reception space and Pat did everything in his power to make the whole vision come to life ), and most importantly made us feel at ease and taken care of. He approached our questions and concerns with compassion, patience, encouragement and love. Originally, we were supposed to have our ceremony outside on the deck. We were lucky to have absolutely gorgeous weather on our day but the wind made it impossible to go through with our original plan. After we gave him the ok, Pat and his staff and Kevin McFadden (at Kevin McFadden Catering and his staff) seamlessly worked as a team about an hour before the start of our wedding to move the ceremony inside, in part of the reception space, for "Plan B". The arbor was facing the beach windows and (without knowing that I would mention the rocking chairs at the Hall in my vows) Pat added a precious, romantic surprise touch, two rocking chairs sitting side by side, perfectly in line with the center of the arbor. (The photos show the reception room set for our ceremony, the back deck with a beautiful view of the beach, and the reception room post ceremony during our first dance).

Scott Sent on 10/05/2017We chose the Cape May convention hall after a short but long search of shore venues for our wedding. Once we arrived to take a tour, we knew this was the place for us. The curator Pat Devlin, could not have been more inviting, genuine, and helpful. He addressed and answered all of our questions, and helped us throughout our entire process. And that process can bring a lot of stress! One thing we never had to stress about was Pat and the venue.
Perfect venue if you have a large or smaller wedding, we had 120 guests, which left a ton of space to move around and have a great time. The sunset was amazing! Weather was perfect!

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at the Cape May Convention Center, and it was an absolutely magical experience from start to finish. From the moment we stepped foot inside this stunning venue, we knew this was the perfect choice for our special day.

Megan Sent on 06/28/2018Absolutly amazing! Kate did an EXCELLENT job organizing the night and keeping everything on schedule! Her team had the venue looking amazing and were very speedy moving everything into place. Well worth the money and would recommend to anyone! My guests all said they were speechless and have never been to a better wedding!
