Beautiful Venue
We got married here last December, and we had the most magical ceremony and reception. Everything about this venue is great, and we got some beautiful photos. Everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful. The catering company they use is great. All of our guests told us they loved the food. You should definitely consider Camarillo Ranch for your event or wedding!Camarillo Ranch's reply:

From the Fig Tree to the Final Dance: A Perfect Wedding Day
We cannot say enough wonderful things about the Camarillo Ranch! From the moment we first visited the property, we knew it was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding. The venue is absolutely breathtaking, with beautifully maintained gardens, a charming water fountain, a magnificent large fig tree, and the perfect blend of historic elegance and rustic charm provided by the ranch house and barn.
One of the standout aspects of our experience was working with Molly Lyneis, the Head of Event Planning. Molly was incredible throughout the entire process—professional, responsive, organized, and genuinely invested in making our wedding day everything we dreamed it would be. Her attention to detail and calm, reassuring presence made planning so much easier and more enjoyable.
The food was another highlight of the evening. Our guests are still talking about the tasty hors d'oeuvres, the delicious lemon caper chicken, perfectly grilled tri-tip, flavorful grilled vegetables, and fresh Caesar salad. Everything was beautifully prepared and served, and it added so much to they overall experience.
We also had the pleasure of working with Cat Crenshaw for day-of coordination, and she was phenomenal. She ensured that every detail was handled seamlessly, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy every moment with our family and friends. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish, and we felt completely supported throughout the day.
The entire Camarillo Ranch team helped create a wedding day that exceeded our expectations in every way. The stunning scenery, exceptional service, delicious food, and expert coordination combined to create memories that we will cherish forever. If you're looking for a wedding venue in Southern California that offers beauty, charm, and an outstanding team, we wholeheartedly recommend Camarillo Ranch House. It was truly the wedding of our dreams.Camarillo Ranch's reply:
Thank you so much Ashley! You were a joy to work with, so organized and detailed, and it was an honor to be part of your and Matthew's day ❤️ -

Great venue
Very nice venue! Only downside is the catering is mandatory and very expensive. 50 minimum guests $90+ per guest. -

Highly Recommend!
Wow! Where do I begin!? This property is absolutely stunning, giving you lots of options for your ceremony and reception locations. We ended up choosing it as our venue over a few other top contenders because it has this beautiful barn that we could use in case it rained. Well, there was light rain all day on our wedding day and yet our hearts were still set on an outdoor ceremony, if at all possible. We made the final ceremony location decision hours before the ceremony and the venue was very accommodating and flexible. While guests sat holding umbrellas in the light misty rain, we said our vows under the beautiful fig tree and it felt magical, memorable and romantic. I was originally fearful of the nearby freeway being a distraction but the day of, no one seemed to notice it, including myself. The reception inside the barn was breathtaking and all our guests keep raving about how beautiful everything was! What is most special about this venue is the people who work there. Molly, the venue manager, was the absolute sweetest, most accommodating and flexible person to work with. She was a huge part in us deciding on this venue because she was so helpful from the start. The site rep, Lindee, was so supportive the day of, helping calm my nerves, helping us around the property and supporting us in all of our decisions and needs. Given the weather and our gamble to hold the ceremony outside anyways, my dress got a little muddy after the ceremony. After giving my husband and I a moment to ourselves, both Lindee and Molly, along with my husband, took wipes to the bottom of my dress to try and get some of the mud off. Honestly, that kind of service and dedication is unreal and speaks volumes about their commitment to making everything as perfect as possible! Everything turned out amazing and we are so thankful we chose Camarillo Ranch as our venue! -

Such a cute wedding reception location!
Great wedding venue! The only required vendor is their catering which has so so many options and was delicious! We used the barn and a little outside area for the cocktail hour and they let us have access to a room in the main house where we could keep our stuff, had a private restroom and vanity to touch up make up.
Everyone was very nice and easy to work with while planning everything and they have excellent vendor recommendations. Which we used All Occasions event planning and In thr Mix events.

Vintage, Valued, Vogue
Such a beautiful setting with staff that are attentive, happy to answer questions, and helpful in every aspect of planning and executing your event!
There are some hoops to jump through getting married at Camarillo Ranch, but as long as you are on top of your planning, you are golden. Make sure all your vendors have camarillo business licenses! The preferred vendors list will help with this.
Over-all such a beautiful and historic space to get married and celebrate with friends and family! Would have had it no other way! So beautiful and scenic, and if you are like me and LOVE history, Camarillo Ranch gives off a vintage flair! -

Absolutely Stunning Venue
My husband and I got married at the Historic Camarillo Ranch on 9/4/21 and we had the most amazing time with this venue from beginning to end! From the beginning, Molly (venue manager) was so helpful, organized, and answered each and every question promptly; and the staff were attentive and wonderful the day of the wedding. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. We decided to get married under the big oak tree, had cocktail hour in the garden, and then we had our reception inside the rustic and beautiful red barn. And the groom's and bride's 'getting ready' rooms were a huge plus! I cannot rave enough about this venue. It felt so special and unique to us, and it truly was everything and more than we could ever imagine. It has now been a month since we got married, and our guests continue to comment on how beautiful the venue and wedding was. If you are considering this venue for your wedding, you will not regret it!-

For nearly a year we have been planning and throughout the process Jasmine Garcia, Event Coordinator - has always been extremely accommodating, receptive and going above and beyond our expectations. The Ranch House is a Queen Anne Historical site built in 1892 and restored in 1998. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained creating great ambiance for our event for over 250 attendees. -

We booked the ranch for our wedding day and I can't tell you how many of our guests came up to us & told us how awesome the venue was! When my "now" husband and I took a tour of the site, we fell in love and didn't need to look anywhere else. It was perfect in so many ways! The space is so large that the opportunities are endless. We used the whole venue. Our ceremony was held on the East Lawn with the gorgeous gazebo as a backdrop. My bridesmaids, flower girls and I got ready in the bridal suite within the Victorian home which was soooo cute and beautifully decorated! We were able to safely keep our personal belongings in the suite during the ceremony & reception by having one of the Staff Members lock up the room. That was a big plus! The West & Front Lawn we used for cocktail hour and because of how much space there is, we were able to have lawn games like corn hole, can jam, and others for all of our guests to enjoy. The big red barn is where we had our reception and it was truly magical! So many of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to and I'm positive having it at the Ranch played a big part in that! Jasmine, the event manager I was in contact with during the whole planning process was always so sweet, clear, and prompt. She even left me a nice personal note in my bridal suite on my wedding day and it really meant a lot. I am so happy we had our wedding here & recommend this venue to any couple looking to have their perfect wedding day! -

I found this venue on Pinterest before we were ever engaged. I hoped and prayed that it was in Southern California, and when I found out it was just outside of the Los Angeles area I was thrilled! My, now husband, and I drove out to Camarillo to do a walk through before we were formally engaged (knowing he had the ring) and didn't ever look at another venue. The location was perfect for what we had in mind and fit all the criteria for my dream wedding! Jasmine was so helpful throughout the entire process making every step of the way easy. She promptly answered any follow-up questions we had throughout the planning process and was happy to guide us through any issues. A lot of our guests were from Texas and New York and have not stopped talking about the beauty of the Camarillo Ranch grounds! They kept saying they'd never seen anything like it and thought the evening was magical due to the setting. I love, love, love the bridal suite (which I think had been recently renovated since our first walk through). It gave us the perfect space to relax and enjoy some champagne, get into our dressed and to run back to for touch-ups. The rental is for the venue only - so be sure to factor into your budget the added expense of furniture, linens, glassware, dining options, etc. It does add up quickly. That being said, the value is great for the space and length of time you get and you can look to your budget for what makes sense for you regarding other rentals. It's nice to be able to mold your own look rather than requiring the use of the venues linens, furniture, etc. It was, by far, the best night of my life and I am so thrilled we chose Camarillo Ranch! -

The Camarillo Ranch is such a picturesque venue. There are so many areas for photos- every corner is beautiful. We held our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at the ranch. The best part is that the whole venue was ours for the entire event, meaning no tourists and other guests ruining our photo ops, nobody walking through or "crashing" our party which usually happens in other venues which host multiple events at a time. Many weddings at the ranch are rustic themed, but we decided to go with a "classy Vegas" theme. Yes, it is a ranch, but the venue can really be dressed up to fit any theme, which makes it so unique! I originally had no idea where to start in the planning process, but the Ranch has a list of local preferred vendors that they have great relationships with, making the process easier and more organized. The ladies I worked with (Marissa, Jasmine, Gloria, Alysha) were nothing short of helpful and amazing. They made planning A LOT easier for me, and I cannot thank them enough!!! -

An amazing venue! I was a bride who didn't want a cookie-cutter wedding. I really wanted to choose my own vendors and not just pay an amount per person. This venue allowed me to do just that! It's absolutely gorgeous--- multiple of my guests said its the best venue they had ever seen. My husband and I wanted a venue where our wedding would be the only wedding that day and we could have the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in all different spots. I had the ceremony outside under the gazebo, the cocktail hour in the garden and the reception in the barn :) it was so perfect! Jasmine was amazing to work with and always answered my questions quickly! I would definitely do it all over again at Camarillo Ranch House :) -

A breezy outdoor ceremony and indoor reception at the same venue was what we wanted. Camarillo Ranch gave us exactly that. Even though it was a hot October day, our ceremony in the tree-surrounded area of the East Garden had a lovely breeze. After the vows, our guests enjoyed a cocktail hour in the gazebo area and then headed to the stunning barn for dinner and dancing. All of our guests felt so at ease at Camarillo Ranch, and we received so many compliments on our choice. Camarillo Ranch office staff is very helpful and polite, as well. We couldn't have asked for a more comfortable, beautiful place to get married. -

Just had my wedding on Sunday at Camarillo Ranch. I searched high and low for a place in LA or Orange County for a venue I could have all to myself, would have indoor or outdoor dependent on weather, and have Lucille's BBQ grill on site. This was the only place I could find, and I prayed with it being pretty far from home that I wouldn't have any regrets. I didn't! Everything was perfect!
I started working with Marissa, then it switched to Jasmine. No big deal, both were lovely to deal with. I asked a lot of questions, and never felt ignored or that I was being an annoyance (which I sure I probably was...but hey, you only get married once.)
I made bi-weekly payments, which must have drove them crazy, but was easier on me...the whole thing went smooth. Bringing in my own caterer and the value in the rental of Camarillo Ranch was more economical then most all-inclusive locations. I believe some pricing has changed, but at my time, I felt it was a worthy investment...knowing now how perfect everything went, I would have paid more.
The location is stunning, the staff was lovely, and we had 0 issues.
I would recommend this place to everyone.
Everywhere you turn is a photo op. We hardly added any decor, and it was stunning.
Everything from the initial phone call to reserving, to cleaning up at the end of the night went smoothly. I loved it..and it is worth every dollar! -

Beautiful venue! Friendly staff and decently priced for what you get. The barn was amazing the gazebo for the ceremony was also amazing. Good weather over the summer and there was a nice breeze keeping everyone cool. After seeing our wedding photos and video we were so glad that we chose the Camarillo Ranch as our venue. It's an absolutely gorgeous place to take pictures. Lots of space to do whatever you need there. The house is phenomenal as well. -

We never could have imagined a venue this beautiful for our budget. Our family and friends raved about how beautiful the whole evening was. Our non-professional pictures already look amazing and we know our professional ones will too. There are so many places to shoot from at the Ranch, that there's no bad shot. The layout provided space for all of our activities. Bringing in our own caterer and alcohol was a huge bonus for us, and using the vendors they guided us to made this the place to be in Camarillo on June 21. Don't waste your time at a golf course, head on out to the Ranch and get the best bang for your buck in So Cal. -

Wow! What a wonderful venue! We were lucky enough to use the barn at the ranch for our rehearsal dinner and it was absolutely perfect. The barn overlooks the grounds of the ranch and inside it is beautiful and spacious, (rustic but modern). We had enough room for the large group and even a dance floor. It was such a fun environment. Everyone talks about what a wonderful time they had at our rehearsal dinner. Thank you Camarillo Ranch! -Megan and Peter -

This was my dream location for my wedding! The beautiful rustic chic, with the Victorian charm was exactly my dream. Jasmine was so wonderful, taking us on a full tour and explaining how the ranch works, how they can make your dream a reality. The staff was so kind, the location is amazingly clean! While it is by the free way you really don't hear any noise, which is nice. There was plenty of room, I had my ceremony of the great lawn, cocktail our by the gazebo and the reception inside.
All of their preferred vendors are wonderful to work with, but even if you choose to use your own, the ranch is great about working with you to get the perfect wedding you want!
If I could do anything over it would be to book sooner! This place goes quick!
Best of luck I know you'll love it!!

Rustic charming venue that is totally customizable!
We got married here in July 2018 and we were so happy with the venue! This venue has that rustic charming storybook feel without all of the issues of really remote venues (they have real bathrooms, floors, fans & amenities). The staff was great and were flexible in letting us stop by a few times before the big day. There are so many options with this venue - multiple outdoor locations, beautiful & cozy & spacious indoor barn, great spots for photos & a charming Victorian house. I had 166 guests and it was the perfect venue for that size. The only thing that went wrong was an unexpected heat wave but that was the one thing we couldn't control! The main lawn was exactly what I dreamed for my ceremony & the barn was perfect for the reception, we had 18 tables, a bar, dessert bar & a big enough dance floor and it was perfect. They also had a great space for cocktail hour. Having a wedding in Ventura County was great, the wedding industry is a big focus and it shows in how amazing all of the vendors were! I do wish the venue came with more as it really comes as a blank slate for you to design (wish I didn't have to rent tables & chairs) but in the end it was worth it, we got exactly what we wanted & the venue rental price can't be beat! Much cheaper than weddings in Malibu! -

This venue is BEAUTIFUL! But make sure to watch your budget, even though this is a great place that you can have your ceremony and reception their pricing does not include ANYTHING except the venue. Everything adds up pretty quickly, but so worth it in the end!!! -

I haven't had my wedding yet, but am very impressed with the responsiveness of Jasmine at Camarillo Ranch. She always responds to all my emails (with very ridiculous questions sometimes) in a timely manner and with a lot of respect. She always has an answer and is always available. It is a little pricey, but completely worth it because you get the whole space pretty much all day! I will update after my wedding next year and as time goes by. -

Camarillo ranch was amazing! We absolutely loved our venue and our guests were in awe! They were stunned at the beauty and all it had to offer!!
I only wish that you were given more time to set up for the money you pay. But overall amazing place and wonderful staff!
We used DJ's catering which is one of the vendors they recommend and DJ's rocked!! Seriously top notch caterer. One of the most communicative, nicest, caterers. They know the venue inside and out. Plus, the food was amazing!! We had a buffet and truly the food was also one of the highlights people talked about. I couldn't be happier!!
Consider camarillo ranch for a unique gorgeous venue and then use DJ's catering! My wedding day was the best! -

This venue is absolutely gorgeous! We had our ceremony in the East Garden under the gazebo, moved to the Mansion for cocktail hour and then to the barn for dinner and dancing. The nice thing about the ranch is you can decorate it in so many ways to match exactly what you want. The only downside is because it is city property they have strict regulations by the fire department and you can no longer use sparklers, which we were pretty bummed about. Also, the ranch is open to the public so while we were setting up, people were taking tours which was a little weird. But they were nice enough to block off the bridal room so no one would bother us. -

Overall it was a BEAUTIFUL site to host our wedding and had everything we wanted. The employees were great and the day went just as we hoped. I took off a star for responsiveness because I had about a week that I had tried to contact through email to let them know I was having issues with the city getting insurance and heard nothing back. I then received an email threatening to cancel our reservation which was a little off-putting but it was resolved quickly after that. They are also VERY particular about clean up after and you HAVE to have everything back exactly how it was. I had no idea our wine barrels had been moved and we got charge $25 per barrel (there were 8 of them) for not being put back in the right spot :/ But we got so many compliments from guests that it was the best wedding they had been to and it was the most beautiful location!Camarillo Ranch's reply:
We appreciate your review of our venue and strive to continue to improve our customer service based on this very important feedback. In response to being "very particular" about cleanup, we wish to point out that the Camarillo Ranch is a historic site and also a location-only venue, which means clients are responsible for all setup, breakdown, cleanup, and contracting of vendors. This offers clients great flexibility in many aspects of planning their special day; however, in exchange we rely on clients to ensure the property is restored to it's original condition for future clients to enjoy. Thank you again, and we are glad to hear that you and your guests had a lovely time!
Sincerely,
Camarillo Ranch Staff -

Couldn’t of asked for a better venue ! It was beautiful! when my husband and I first took a tour of the ranch we fell in love immediately! Do to the price being a little high and on top of paying for the venue you still have to pay for chairs , tables , security etc .. it can add up VERY quickly . We decided to tour other venues but nothing topped the ranch ! We are so happy our final decision was going with this venue! We received so many compliments from our friends and family !Camarillo Ranch's reply:
Hi Diana!
We deeply thank you for hosting your big day at the Camarillo Ranch!
So glad to hear you & your guests loved the ranch. It was such a pleasure meeting you & your amazing family.

We had our wedding here in December and it was absolutely lovely. It was POURING rain the whole day, so we moved the ceremony into the barn. We had the reception in the barn too. Everything was so cozy and intimate. We LOVED it! The Camarillo Ranch House and foundation were easy to work with. They have no preferred vendors; so we loved being able to completely customize our wedding. When you pay for the Camarillo Ranch House you are simply paying for the site. We rented tables and chairs through the Ranch House - which is an added cost. In the barn they have a projector, two plasma TVs and a surround sound system available - for an added cost. We used the plasmas for a slideshow we had made and it was a big hit.
The only negative is some of the docents were giving the wedding party a hard time when we were getting ready for the wedding - they were rude and pushy. You also have to have one security guard per 50 guests if you will be serving alcohol and you need to take out a $1million event liability policy - more added costs. -

Camarillo Ranch was a beautiful venue for our special day! While they can be quite particular (insurance required, no open flame, strict hours, some exclusive vendors required while others are preferred), I did feel like the staff was willing to work with us to accommodate our requests and budget concerns. You are paying basically for just a venue so keep that in mind as it required a decent amount of DIY/coordination on our end. We were lucky to have a lot of friends and family willing to help with setup and some of our services to help us keep costs down that way since it is quite pricey. The vendors that we chose from their list were professional and helpful. Since our wedding was on a Friday, a Thursday rehearsal worked out fine for us as well but can be tricky for wedding party/family. Overall I absolutely loved how our wedding turned out but would want future couples to know what they are signing up for with this venue as it requires a lot more decision making and vendor coordination. I can't wait to see our professional pictures! -

Overall I loved CRH - it was exactly what we were looking for. However, being a historic landmark there were a lot of rules. Some of these we were told about in advance & others not. Pros - Jasmine, the manager, was great to work with! You get the venue for the entire day (but there are public tours of the house until 3pm). The setting around the property is gorgeous - makes for the best photos. We had our ceremony in front of the fig tree & it was absolutely gorgeous. The barn is perfect for a reception. Cons - All vendors need to have a Camarillo Business License & if they don't already they need to apply w/ city hall. Some of our vendors were not happy about this. Our florist had a license in Thousand Oaks so she didn't really want to get another one. Especially since she was only dropping off flowers. But there were no exceptions to this rule. This was a major pain to coordinate w/ all vendors. You & your vendors all need liability insurance (true of many venues). Need to hire 1 security guard for every 50 people if serving alcohol (really adds up $$$). No sparklers/open flames. When touring the venue we were told we could utilize any of the wine barrels on property so we were relying on these for our cocktail tables & ceremony decorations...as we approached the wedding date I mentioned this to the venue & they told me their rules had changed & we couldn't move them from the barn area. We had to rent a bunch of cocktail tables & wine barrels at the last minute. This seemed crazy to us - paying $6,500 for a venue & not being able to use the super old wine barrels that are just sitting around. They say the barn will fit up to 250 w/ dance floor - IMO that's doable with a SMALL dance floor only. In the barn we had 200 ppl, large dance floor, DJ, photobooth, & dessert bar. We had to put our buffet & bar on the patio. Any more people & it would have been too crowded. Overall, the venue was amazing & we had a perfect day! Just beware of the rules before booking :) -

My wedding at Camarillo Ranch was everything I had pictured-gorgeous grounds and lovely barn reception. I always knew I wanted a barn reception and when I found Camarillo Ranch I knew it would be the one, not only because it's gorgeous but because it is venue only which made it affordable.
Being that it is a venue only location you have to contract EVERYTHING else, which can be a pain. But knowing what I was getting into I was totally up to the challenge. I signed my contract before having to use preferred vendors and I'm glad I did. I also signed before they made some pretty big price increases (wouldn't be able to afford now!) and policy changes.
-No rice, birdseed, confetti, loose hay, flower petals or other similar items may be
used in any area of the Camarillo Ranch. This is super lame as flower girls can't throw petals down the aisle...and all their literature has pictures of petals covering the aisle for the ceremony. Probably should get new pictures following policy. (This is not new, was in my older contract too but worth noting)
-Rehearsal must be scheduled Monday-Thursday. Unless you and your entire wedding party live in the area it's pretty hard to do. (This is also not new)
-Professional day of planner needs to be hired.
-Use of preferred vendors or pay a $500 buy out option.
Good changes include:
-Grounds from 8am-12pm. I guess this is the reason for the price increase as I only had an 8 hour block.
Overall, I'm glad I was able to get married there before the price increases and policy changes. But the venue is simply gorgeous, my guests loved the Victorian house and of course the big red barn reception! -

Absolutely loved having my wedding at this venue, it was BEAUTIFUL! Only complaint is that the on site staff was not readily available the day of to let me and my husband into the mansion to take photos together, which was part of our package. We missed out on some great pictures. Also, if a wedding is scheduled the day before yours, you cannot get in for a rehearsal unless you do it days in advance, so that was unfortunate as well. Overall, AMAZING place to get married though! -

The Camarillo Ranch is a beautiful location. This was the first and only venue my husband and I actually visited, and we were in love right when we saw it. My husband and I chose the gazebo area to have our ceremony, and the barn to have our reception. We took family photos on the front lawn and by the large tree. The space has a lot of history and I'm sure that many weddings take place here. There are three reasons why I didn't give this venue a 5 out of 5. First, this is a blank canvas to have a wedding. Everything needs to be rented. And when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING! This gave us more freedom to plan it how we wanted, but it also meant that we needed to rent trash cans and trash bags (unless your caterer brings those). Secondly, the venue has a few rules. And I suppose all places do. Thirdly, the planner on the site was not too friendly. She didn't seem as excited for our wedding as we felt and we wanted all of our vendors to mirror the same excitement. She did not. I'm sure she sees so many "happy couples" over the years. She was quick with emails, just not quick with the feels.Camarillo Ranch's reply:
We appreciate your review of our venue and strive to continue to improve our customer service based on this very important feedback. In response to the Camarillo Ranch being a blank canvas, yes, which allows our couples the opportunity to customize their special day as much as possible. However, we wanted to correct the comment regarding trash bins and liners. Please note these are most definitely included/provided for all events hosted on-site. Additionally, receptacles are located on the property to dispose of all garbage and recycled items accumulated throughout the day. We hope this clarifies any questions related to Camarillo Ranch event policies. Again, thank you kindly for your feedback. -

My wedding was great! I loved the location and got many compliments on how beautiful it was. My vendors were the ones who made it so perfect, the ranch staff, not so much. Like others have mentioned, they have a lot of rules and stress how the venue must be perfectly cleaned and put back to how it was when we got it. Being a clean person, I didn’t take this as a bad thing and was of course going to make sure it was put back together appropriately. When we arrived at 9am (which is the time you’re allowed to get there) the gates were locked and no one was there except a maintenance person. The girl who let us in finally was 5 minutes late and when she parked she yelled from her car, “let me just get the key for the suite.” She finally got the key for the suite while myself, my bridesmaids, and hair/makeup people are waiting outside of the bridal suite. When she unlocked the suite she said “hang on a minute” while she could see our hands were filled with a bunch of stuff so we waited again, while she said “hang on I need to clean it up a bit.” We waited some more while she frantically cleaned the bridal suite from the night before. Once we finally got into the suite it wasn’t until 9:15. It might not seem like a big deal, but when you have 9 girls to get hair and makeup done with before 1:30pm, we needed ALL the time we could get. We never got an apology for the lack of promptness or cleanliness. I was frustrated because here they are saying they have strict rules of make sure things are clean, but it was clean for my wedding day. Furthermore, Jasmine was extremely rude our whole experience dealing with her. I was so glad she was not there the day of our wedding. On our rehearsal day, she didn’t even greet us with a simple hello, instead her first words were, “gates close at 5, you need to be done before that.” Multiple people in my wedding party commented an how rude/unprofessional that was. The venue itself, is beautiful, but the staff needs improvement. -

I just recently had my wedding at this venue. I loved the rustic look of the barn and space.. I would say that responsiveness and professionalism was the best thing offered by the staff there. Jasmine did a great job emailing me back within 24 hours and if she wasn't available, another staff member emailed back for her. The things that got me was the value and flexibility. They really charge you for almost everything and anything. It's 500 to not use their preferred vendors, which is a bummer. Plus they get you with security guard charges if you have alcohol served. I get that these things are needed, it just costed an arm and a leg to have beer and wine served (which in my head seems silly). The biggest issue I had was the week of the wedding. Thanks to el nino, we had to put up our tents a few days earlier in hopes to dry out the lawn. We had to pay for extra insurance for the entire property for those days... fine, understandable, but when we asked if we could then drop off the big items, like alcohol, a day early.... we were told no. even though we paid for insurance on the entire property for that day (and days prior to). When we asked if we could talk to the management to try and explain our reasoning, we were told that she wasn't available at the moment and that they could have her call back. We never got a phone call or follow up! Also, on the day of the event, we had to switch my entrance to an entire other side of the house there and got grief for doing so. When I looked at the venue I was told that we have full access to the house during the event. When the actually day occurred, I was told I only had an hour for that day and having both wedding parties inside before the ceremony (because it was raining) would count as part of that time. You've got to be kidding me.... If I shell out thousands of dollars and pay a 1 million dollar insurance policy on the place... I should be able to keep my wedding party inside until the ceremony started.Camarillo Ranch's reply:
Thank you for your feedback & for choosing Camarillo Ranch to host your very special day! We appreciate your review & strive to continue to improve our customer service based on this very important feedback. We wanted to take the time to respond to some of your concerns so others may have a clear understanding of what to expect when hosting an event with us. The Ranch is a historic landmark & operates as a house museum, which is open for tours Saturday-Monday from 11am-3pm. We are also owned by the City of Camarillo, which dictates we have stricter regulations than other wedding venues. A few of these important regulations, which you referenced, include the requirement for clients to provide liability insurance spanning the days the property is rented, hiring security guards to be present while wedding guests are present, & contracting with your choice of our 45+ preferred vendors. We also provide the option to work with outside vendors for a nominal fee. Furthermore, we are proud to offer a bridal suite, which is available to the wedding party the full 16 hour rental, and to be host to only one event per day. All of this information is readily available to the public on our website, during a site tour, & is communicated to all clients to the best of our ability during the event planning process. A handout of these regulations is sent prior event day to both clients and coordinator. Inclement weather can be a very stressful factor, though we provide an indoor space to all clients–the Red Barn. If clients choose to opt out, we do our very best to accommodate last minute equipment installations. In this case, we waived the additional fees to setup the tent 1 day early & remove it from the property 2 days after. The value for the 3 days of extra property use is $16,000, but instead only asked for additional liability coverage. We hope this clarifies any questions related to Camarillo Ranch event policies. Again, thank you kindly for your feedback. -

I loved the setting at Camarillo Ranch which is what convinced us to have our wedding there. It's absolutely gorgeous and provided the ambiance for the type of wedding we wanted. The grounds are really well cared for--something that similar venues we looked at were lacking in. One of the main reasons we chose this venue is because you can bring in whatever you want as far as catering and decor. However that might deter some brides as it's all up to you.
It's pretty expensive to rent the Camarillo Ranch and I didn't like that you don't get anything included for your money. You have to rent the tables and chairs if you wish to use theirs, which I think is pretty ridiculous when we paid 4k to rent the site for the day--it should be included for that much money. Also, they kind of nickel and dime you as far as having to hire security services and pay for insurance, we also paid extra to have an employee hang twinkle lights in the barn.
Camarillo Ranch is a beautiful venue and I absolutely loved having our wedding there, although I do feel that they should do more when you're spending that much money. -

Beautiful Location
This venue is honestly my dream venue! Everything about this place absolutely perfect looks wise. Although we did originally book this place for our wedding day, we had to eventually let it go, once we realized that we would be simply paying too much for the catering. It would have cost us almost $9,000 just for 100 guests. That was with the "discount" that they were able to do. I don't know if we were being unrealistic, but that was say too much money for only a fraction of the guests that we wanted to invite. I know they do more than just food, that includes clean up set up, but given they aren't rebuying any of the items they set up, there is no reason to charge so much! We were able to find another venue a week later that we loved (almost) equally, for a less than $2000 and had a catering company come in cater over 200 guests for around $3000. The food was PHENOMENAL! Nothing was missed and that included alcohol being served and workers for the day! Not sure why Camarillo forces people hand in the catering matter, but that has to be hurting them in the long run. Maybe not, either way, we are having our dream day with nothing missing, and no persons missing as well!
Maybe in the future we can return to Camarillo and things will be different, but given they're response, or lack there of response, after we canceled, we may not want to return. They were very cold and rude after we canceled the venue, quite petty if you ask me. We also forfeited our deposit, which we were aware of loosing if we decided to cancel. So no bitterness there. -

The Camarillo House is beautiful and we will have great pictures because of it. However, we had been told when we booked it that we would be able to have our rentals delivered the day before and picked up on the monday after. They ended up booking events the days before and after and so we had to have delivery the day of (which made things extremely hectic on our wedding day) and picked up at midnight that night, which cost a fortune.
Other than that, the Ranch House was great, easy to work with and highly recommended. -

Beautiful Venue if slightly expensive
We got married in September at Camarillo Ranch. The venue is absolutely beautiful and we loved that we were able to have the whole venue to ourselves for the day which was a major plus for us. However we did have a few hiccups. The Ranch requires that you use Command performance for the caterer which was fine. But they gave us catering packages that apparently only applied to the price of the barn reception and we were quoted a higher price when we wanted an outdoor reception. The office staff seemed like they were still working through having command performance as an exclusive vendor. But in the end it went smoothly, if it was slightly more expensive than we were originally led to believe.
The ranch also requires that all vendors have a Camarillo business license. This can be a little difficult if you want to work with vendors outside their list. But they were really good with letting us choose our own vendors if we were able to get them Camarillo business licenses. Their list of vendors is also pretty extensive and they cover a variety of price options which is helpful. They also changed a couple of their exclusive vendors list before our wedding but were good about letting us keep our original vendors.
On the day of everything went really smoothly with the ranch staff. They let us walk around the house and get a lot of wonderful pictures in the antique rooms. It overall is a beautiful venue and a perfect place for a wedding.-

Camarillo Ranch is a beautiful venue however it comes with a lot of conditions. If you can get past the no fire, no candles, no sparklers, no rose petals then you just need to decide if you have the time for the extra work to have your event here or if you'd like a venue that comes with less stress/planning. The city of Camarillo requires all your vendors to have workman's comp insurance and liability insurance. For example, surprisingly a lot of photographers and dj's don't have this on their own which means you need to purchase it for them (at the city of Camarillo $130) or choose a photographer or other vendor that comes from a larger firm and has the insurance.
Also, if you want to use your own cater be prepared to pay a $500 buyout fee if you choose not to use a vendor off of their preferred vendor list (this list does not have any ethnic options). You are also required to contract security through the ranch, make sure you keep in mind you will need pre/post event time for the guards. We made a mistake and contracted our guards for 8-hours, they come early and stay later therefore your party gets cut short if their time is up.
Read ALL the fine print in the contract and make sure you provide the "rules list" to all your vendors. If anything is moved or not cleaned you'll be charged. Luckily we paid a lot of money to hire people to clean up.
At the ranch it's no frills, you will be treated in a straightforward manner. Don't expect warm and fuzzy.
All in all we had a beautiful day at a beautiful venue and our dealings worked well and it was fairly inexpensive. You just have to consider the extra work/stress you want to take on. -

The venue is beautiful and just what we were looking for for our wedding. That being said, we did not feel they were particularly professional. The week of our wedding we found out that the guy that was supposed to do our lighting was not licensed to work there, and they had not told us this even though they had known for months we were using him. We also created a back-up rain plan with them that they originally supported, and then 4 days before the wedding they told us it would not work. Fortunately they addressed the issues, but it added a lot of unnecessary stress to the wedding week.
I would recommend this venue because of it's beauty, but I would caution whoever is considering it that you can probably find equally beautiful locations for less money and less headache. -

This was such a beautiful location! I loved the barn and the grounds as the backdrop to my wedding. It was too bad that the administration was sub-par. It cost 5,000 to rent this location for the day. We expected great service with such a large sum of money. But they were unhelpful and provided little to no assistance for the event. They did not even provide trash bags for the event!!! The bathrooms were very dirty in the barn when we arrived!!! Carlos cleaned them as soon as we informed him. I was planning on getting ready in the brides dressing room in the House....but the house was locked up when i arrived! Carlos helped us get in and got the heat turned on. His son spent some time letting me tour the house to find the best spot to do the first look which was very helpful.
Carlos, The groundsman and his son, were the ones who were helpful. They were attentive the day of to our needs. He strung the lights in the barn for about $300.
So other than Carlos and his son...i was "underwhelmed" by the services provided. We had to provide our own trashbags?!?!? Is this normal for a wedding venue. I mean come on! -

First of all let me say that the Camarillo Ranch is a beautiful venue. Yes the location is right next to the freeway, but during the ceremony and reception I never noticed it. The house is classic and wonderful for pictures. I love this venue and I'm glad this is where we got married.
The staff on the other hand need to learn a thing or two about how to run a business. My situation is a little different, I'm stationed overseas and had to do all of my coordination through email. At first the ladies I had to work with were very attentive and answered all of my questions. After we booked the venue I emailed once in a while to make a payment. One email that stuck out was the events manager asking me what my wedding date was (this was after we had booked and payed a deposit). The funny thing was that I had attached several emails that had our wedding date, but this lady still had to ask me. I also thought this was weird because shouldn't they have a system that has everyone's name? Just a thought.
Additionally, the day of the wedding I get a call from my coordinator saying that there was another wedding still at the venue. Mind you this was 4:00pm, the time we had rented the venue. I arrived around 4:50pm only to find out the previous bride and groom were still on the grounds. I was never informed about the other wedding.
And finally a few weeks before we headed to the states I sent an email to the event manager to set up a tour of the house for us. She responded saying that would be fine. The day we arrived I told her who we were and that we there for a tour. The tour was only about 10 minutes and the whole time she was talking to us like we were still planning our wedding. Overall I was just really amazed at how unprofessional it all seemed. Purhaps the Camarrillo Ranch house should look into a new staff.
Like I said, the venue itself is stunning. If you can work with people like I've described then the house is worth it. -
