Perfect for our wedding cocktail hour!
Our wedding cocktail hour at the Don Cesar was already set against a stunning backdrop, but having Caladesi perform took the entire experience to another level. From the moment they started playing, the atmosphere transformed into something truly magical. Their music was vibrant, joyful, and perfectly suited for the setting—it instantly put our guests at ease and created this incredible island-inspired energy that everyone loved.
We kept hearing the same thing over and over: no one wanted the cocktail hour to end! Guests were connecting and completely soaking in the moment, all thanks to the amazing talent and presence of Caladesi. They struck the perfect balance of being engaging without ever overpowering the conversation, and their professionalism made everything seamless.
It was a beautiful day, and they made it unforgettable. If you're considering steel drummers for your event, we cannot recommend Caladesi enough—we would absolutely hire them again in a heartbeat. -

Caladesi Steel Band Performs at an Outdoor Wedding Welcome Party
The restaurant venue suggested Caladesi Steel Band for our Wedding Welcome Party. Our dealings were easy and professional. He was open to some modifications and prompt on the day of the event. His purpose was to provide background music and set the tone of the party. He was perfect. The music was just the right volume and everyone enjoyed it. -

Best Steel Drummer on the Tampa Coast
We had the privelage of working with Johnny as a soloist steel drummer for our wedding. We first met johnny while walking down the strip in clearwater. He was playing at the Wyndham for some background music at the pool. We walked up and chatted him up for a bit and listened to a few songs. You could tell he was someone that was passionate about his craft and really enjoyed it. We got his information and booked him for our wedding a couple weeks later. Johnny was very easy to work with, very organized and just an overall joy to have play at our wedding. He showed up early and was all set up and ready to go before we even needed him. Email communication was easy and responses were prompt. He was flawless in performance and was easy to work with. Price was fair and i can say they were one of the only venders where i did not feel like i was getting ripped off. Putting the word wedding before anything these days and you learn to expect almost scam- worthy pricing. Caladesi Steel Band had good fair pricing and made me feel like I got what i paid for. These guys are pro's! Book them now! -

Caribbean Vibes wedding
Steel drums were me and my husbands number 1 most important vendor to book - we knew we wanted to steel drums when we first started discussing getting married years ago, before we even knew where we wanted to have a wedding! We had them play pre ceremony, for the ceremony and during cocktail hour. It gave us the relaxed, elegant and fun vibes we were dreaming of for our day. All our guests thought this was such a perfect touch to our ceremony. -

Best Music we could have ever asked for

Our dream beach wedding
Dave was great to work with he was very flexible and helpful in choosing songs. He even was going to supply a microphone for our pastor since we would be on the beach. Unfortunately our venue had to be canceled due the hurricane and without hesitation they refunded our money. Once and if we are able to reschedule we will definitely use them again. -

We booked the Caladesi Steel Band for an event at our brewery on Clearwater Beach. Not only were they absolutely amazing bringing a tropical theme to the party but David was so easy to deal with and prompt with his responses to any questions I had! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a steel drum band! -

Great music, good people, perfect for the beach
The band was on the preferred vendors list of the Don Cesar and favorably well known to all the staff so I contacted Dave and the rest was easy. He knew exactly how many performers would work on the North Terrace during cocktail hour to be entertaining but not overwhelming. Lots of rave reviews for the music, and I particularly enjoyed how simple Dave made the payment process and contract signing. Highly recommend them. -

Perfect for our Beach Wedding!

The extra wow factor to my beach wedding!!!
Absolutely wonderful!!! I hired Caladesi Steel Band for my rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception. They were absolutely wonderful to work with! I truly had no idea what songs to pick, so they were super helpful in coming up with ideas for me. My wedding guests were so impressed. Everyone was in awee of the music coming from their drums. This really added the extra wow factor to my wedding. My guests said this is something that they will remember forever. I cannot recommend them enough!!! -

Great steel band!
We hired Dave to play for our Valentine’s Day rehearsal dinner which was on the water, and I loved the idea of a steel band to go along with the vibe. Dave was professional from our very first communication, and everyone absolutely loved the music!! He was fantastic and even let some of our guests try to learn a few tricks on the steel drum. I would 100% recommend Dave to anyone – and will certainly be hiring him again next time I am in need of a fabulous steel band! -

I give Dave 10 stars! I hired him for my son and daughter in law’s wedding on the beach at the Sandpearl resort. He played before, during and after the ceremony. It was beautiful. Awesome wedding band!
We hired the trio for our wedding ceremony and reception and were so beyond happy with them! Everyone complimented the music and it brought the exact vibe we were going for... relaxed, easy going and happy. They DJed some songs for us too and everything was just perfect. And hiring them was easy. Dave was one of the best vendors to work with- very responsive and makes the pre-event work a breeze! You guys truly made our wedding better than we could have imagined. I’m so glad I found Dave and the Caladesi band. He was excellent! Had my wedding at the Grand Plaza hotel, and everyone was blown away by the steel drums. Dave was easy to get and touch with and had a list of songs to choose from. Very officent. -

Utter Perfection!
Utter perfection! First rate! Worth every penny. Can't say enough wonderful things about the Caladesi Steel Band. We hired Dave and his trio ensemble for our daughter's beach wedding and backyard reception. Dave on steel drums, Joe on guitar, and John on congos set the perfect tone as guests waited, and then brought the wedding party in with impeccable timing. Total professionals. The music was perfection both at the wedding and at the reception. Acoustic, authentic, absolutely perfect. Thank you, Dave, for your patience answering my endless questions. We can't thank you enough for playing such a large part in creating such a special, special night for us. -

A Magical Touch to Our Wedding!
I hired Caladesi Steel Band to play for the ceremony and cocktail hour at my wedding. I had a steel drummer and guitarist and it was absolutely beautiful!! I did A LOT of research before choosing a vendor and Caladesi Steel Band exceeded my expectations.
Dave was so easy to work with. I had a lot of questions and requested a few song samples ahead of time as I was trying to decide on my ceremony music and he was very responsive and helpful. Their website is also intuitive and useful with recommended wedding songs, YouTube videos of real weddings, and they allow you you pay online, which i personally love because of the convenience.
The combination of the steel drums and the guitar was magical and my guests raved about the music. It was the perfect combination of tropical and classy, and really set the tone for the rest of the night. Thank you Caladesi Steel Band!!! -

Outstanding Entertainment!
I am so happy we made the decision to do our ceremony with a steel band! All of our guests thought it was an amazing surprise and it sounded beautiful. It fit great with our beach front wedding. Our cocktail hour was rained out and we had to go inside, Dave didn't miss a beat getting all his equipment into our indoor room. I can't say enough good things about how the entire process went. We cannot say enough great things about how awesome it was to the Caladesi Steel Drum Band for our ceremony and cocktail hour at our beach wedding in Treasure Island! Dave was responsive and professional throughout our entire planning process. Our guests raved about their music and could not stop talking about what a fun vibe it set for the rest of our night. We had 1 steel drummer and 1 guitar player and it really was a beautiful combination. We hired Dave from Caladesi for our wedding at the Don CeSar and he was fantastic. He was set up before the ceremony with plenty of time to spare and played all the songs that we had agreed on. We had our wedding at the Hilton Clearwater Beach and I'm so glad we did the steal drum band for the ceremony and cocktail hour. It added such a "beachy" vibe to the wedding. He did a great job of making the music prior to the ceremony very light and picking up a little speed during the cocktail hour.
In addition, Dave was very helpful and very efficient and prompt with his responses.

We recently got married at The Pink Shell Resort and Marina, Ft.Myers Beach and choose Caladesi Steel Drum to play for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Dave and the Caladesi Band were the perfect choice for music during our Wedding Ceremony on the Starlight Majesty. After the ceremony they played on the outside top deck of the boat which provided the perfect music for the amazing views. We have also had Dave play at our quarterly office meetings and he never fails to impress. We had just one steel drummer at our beach wedding (Dave), and it was just the perfect touch. He played a little before the ceremony, then he let us pick whatever songs we wanted for the processional, then a few songs during photos. We are so happy that we chose Caladesi Steel Band to provide the music for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour! Dave was easy to work with, and helped us put together a perfect selection of songs for our wedding ceremony. We were coming from out-of-town, but we wanted to hear him play prior to our wedding, so Dave was even happy to meet us and chat with us at one of his regularly scheduled performances while we were down for a visit. The steel drum and guitar duo provided the perfect atmosphere for our beach wedding. I received many compliments from guests, who loved the uniqueness of the steel drums, and many even wished that we had kept the Caladesi Steel Band playing throughout the beginning of our reception as well. Probably my biggest regret from the wedding day was that my husband and myself were not able to hear more of the Caladesi Steel Band, since we were away taking pictures during cocktail hour. I am happy that we caught it all on video and were able to experience the music later. I cannot recommend Caladesi Steel Band enough for your beach wedding! -

We had the Caladesi Steel Band play at our daughters wedding at the Don Cesar last weekend and it was just beautiful!!! They played at the rehearsal which was a beach themed party, the ceremony and again at the cocktail hour. They added just the touch that we wanted at the wedding and they were so great with our guests. I heard many comments about how good they were and they truly added the "beach flavor" my daughter wanted to have at her wedding! They spent a lot of time with our family and guests and I think we could tell that they enjoyed themselves as well and that was really important to us as well! I felt they were very reasonable too for as much as they played over the course of the two days! They will always part of the memories made on my daughter and new son-in-law's big day!!! Thanks Dave for everything! -

Dave from Caladesi Steel Drums provided the most gorgeous and fun cocktail hour music for our wedding. We really wanted our guests to feel relaxed and like they could let their hair down a bit, so we wanted to move away from our more classical string quartet during the ceremony and into something a bit more Floridian.
The music from Caladesi Steel Drums was just perfect and really set the tone. Dave made the whole thing so much fun and some of our guests even got to try to play. It was a blast to have them at the wedding and I would highly recommend working with them. If you are looking for something a bit different but still beautiful Caladesi Steel Drums are the way to go. -

My husband and I hired Dave from Caladesi Steel Band to perform at our Ceremony and Cocktail Hour at Isla Del Sol Yacht & Country Club on Saturday, March 15, 2014. He was incredibly professional to work with - especially with all of our correspondence being via email since we live in Orlando, FL. He was very responsive throughout and on the day of our Wedding, was on time and performed beautifully. It was such a special and unique touch to have the steel drums and not only did my husband and I appreciate it (the music was beautiful) - but so did our guests. I would highly recommend hiring the Caladesi Steel Band for your Wedding - you won't regret it. -

Thanks so much to Dave for playing at our June 15th, 2013 wedding at the Gulf Drive Tiki on Anna Maria Island! Dave was so easy to communicate with beforehand and took into account all of our specific requests! He came early to set up and played at our cocktail hour as well as during our ceremony and shell toss afterwards. So many of our friends and family have commented about how much they enjoyed the steel drums! It was such a special touch to our day! I will never forget walking down the sandy aisle to such beautiful music and can't thank Dave enough for being a part of our wedding day!

Dave with Caladesi Steel Band was great! The only song I was picky about was the song I walked down the aisle to. Honestly I didn't get to hear much of him since I wasn't there until he played my wedding march and I missed his cocktail hour at the yacht club since we were taking photos at the beach. All the guests raved about him and I hope I am able to hear some of it on the video that i have yet to receive from my photographer!
He even told my parents friends how he knows where to hit the drum for each note!

Working with Dave was fantastic. Having a destination wedding, it was hard to not be able to meet with a lot of our vendors in person. Dave was extremely responsive, and went above and beyond to make our day so special. I had a song that my friend was going to sing as I walked down the aisle, and Dave reached out to her and made sure they both knew what key they were going to play in, and so on. He also stayed a bit longer to make sure we had music during the group photos. It was a great addition to our already beautiful ceremony, and Dave was just a pleasure to work with. I'd recommend him to anyone :) -

I got married at The Ritz Carlton Beach Clubon Lido Beach. We are from the UK so found Dave via the internet. All i can say is that he was FANTASTIC!!!! Exactly what i had imagined.He played a great selection of songs which truly made our cocktail hour and first few hours of our reception. I would definitely recommend him!! -
