  Delicious cake happy couple

  On our wedding day, the cake was delivered on time and very delicious. No complaints from us or our guest. Our cake was custom made, fresh, and affordable. We had more than enough. Cakes by Tawanda did a amazing job.

  Cakes by Tawanda: Top Notch

  The cake for our wedding day was absolutely gorgeous - Tawanda took our inspiration photos and replicated it exactly, with a small flair that made it so much better. The cake was also incredibly delicious - multiple people said it was the best wedding cake they ever had. At one point our dance floor was almost empty because so many people were back at their seats eating cake (including my groom and I)! I could not recommend Chef Hammond higher.

  Ms. Tawanda was very kind to accommodate our last minute preparations. She made time to have a telephone conversation to discuss all the details of our wedding cakes. I will highly recommend her service.
  The wedding cake was delicious and the decorations were absolutely lovely, just like how I described to her via email and phone calls.

  Wonderful!!!! Dairy and gluten free, delicious, and beautiful! Couldn’t have asked for better!

  This cake was amazing! Tawanda made us an incredible gluten and dairy free carrot cake. Our guests could not believe it! Beautifully decorated, she worked with us to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. Definitely recommend her!!!!

  Most delicious cakes

  Tawanda is amazingly talented and you will not regret for one second hiring this wonder. We ordered the vanilla almond cake and cupcakes. She made the cake of our dreams and it was the most delicious thing we have ever tasted.

  Great Wedding Cake

  Working with Tawanda was awesome. Her and her team are so easy to work with and let me tell you, she makes one heck of a cake! Not only was our wedding cake beautiful, it melted in your mouth and tasted phenomenal! We had one guest that we knew was Gluten Free so we had a small side cake make for that guest. Our guest raved about that cake as well. You definitely won't go wrong with getting your cake from Tawanda!

  Fantastic cake decorations and delicious cake and frosting.!!
  I normally don't like icing but the one she made was irresistible and I even licked my fingers.
  Everybody likes the cake and the different kind of cupcakes she made for my wedding.... Nothing left after the wedding. !!

  Ms. Tawanda has been a great vendor from the very beginning. I learned about her from a friend and decided to stop by the shop. She was very personable and professional. We scheduled a cake tasting and loved the samples. While doing our tasting a bride and groom arrived at the shop with flowers as a gesture of thanks for her services. If the cake didn't sell it the responses from previous customers definitely sealed the deal. We're more than happy with the professional relationship we've built with Cakes by Tawanda. She is well versed in her craft and seeks to please.

  Cake turned out beautiful and everyone enjoyed it. Would have liked to have a package with a small topper cake for our anniversary so we didn't have to freeze the topper.

  Tawanda was incredible to work with. She assisted my fiance and I in creating the most beautiful cake I have ever seen. And she brought my vision to life as she created a groom's cake in the shape of Virginia Tech's Lane Stadium. My fiance was not expecting it and it was truly perfect. I would recommend Tawanda to any bride.

  She is awesome I had no worries about my cake. I gave her the colors and what theme I had and what type of flowers I like and she did a wonderful job that captured everything I wanted.

  Tawanda prepared a wonderful wedding cake for our wedding! At our first appointment, she had prepared a variety of samples and we could literally pick and choose what we liked. I had a vision for a naked cake, rather than a traditional wedding cake, and Tawanda executed it better than I had anticipated. Guests complimented us on the cake because it was beautiful AND delicious. A few had multiple slices to taste the different flavors we had picked. Strongly recommend her!

  LOVE LOVE LOVE tawanda! She was so great, and so was the cake! I was not very picky about how my cake looked, so I just gave her a few pictures and let her work her magic! I was so pleased with how it turned out, it was gorgeous! Everyone loved the cake, it was delicious!

  Tawanda did an amazing job with our all-vegan wedding cupcakes! Many non-vegans at our wedding said they couldn't tell they were vegan. After discussing our Doctor Who wedding theme, she designed truly stunning galaxy decorations on the frosting. And her prices can't be beat! We'll definitely be going back to her for other events.

  We used Tawanda for our wedding cake. We opted for a small two tier cake and 120 cupcakes. The only two negativenegatives I'd give are that 1) she forgot my design after our first meeting, but she offered a design that was equally as nice and 2) the cupcakes were iced in white, hot pink, and plum (we asked for white, lilac/lavender, plum). Other than that, the cupcakes were DELICIOUS! I can't wait til our 1-year anniversary to have our top tier. Our flavors were vanilla, sweet potato, and caramel pecan.
