Cathy at Walnut Street Bakery was just amazing! we had a private tasting and everything was delicious. We ended up choosing 3 different flavors on our wedding cake. The cake was beautiful and it was delicious. We had carrot cake, italian cream, and fresh strawberry. We got so many compliments!

We had the best experience with Cakes by Shirley! Our cake turned out perfect and exactly how we wanted. They have so many choices to choose from in flavors. -

They did our Wedding and Groom's cakes and they were both perfect !! They were both exactly what we had hoped for and so delicious !! -

Amazing cake! Every single guest said they loved it, and that never happens! We had a 3-tier cake, raspberry champagne, lemon, and strawberry, they were to die for. The cske tasting in their awesome little storefront was so much fun. And all I had to do was show a picture of how I wanted it to look and it was exact! We vacation in SC a lot, I will always stop in for a cupcake now :) -

We chose a small red velvet cake as our wedding cake and had assorted mini-cupcakes for our guests. Of course, I had to taste them all and they were all delicious! They did exactly what we asked and were very friendly. Great taste and great price! I would absolutely recommend! -

Our cake was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! It was not only gorgeous, but taste like heaven!!! And apparently every one else thought the same because we did'nt bring home any! which was the goal! lol. And we actually had less people show up, show I had prepared to take large amounts of cake home. But that did not happen! :) very pleased -

I had my original cake plans fall through, and I went to Cakes by Shirley just a week before the wedding. They were extremely helpful, despite the fact that it was so last minute. Our cake was absolutely perfect and delicious. I can't recommend them enough! -

My wedding cake and grooms cans turned out absolutely amazing. There was a problem with the cake after they dropped it off and came back to fix it after they were called. I appreciate them fixing it in a timely fashion and making it look amazing! My vision for my grooms cake was very detailed and somewhat hard to understand but they pulled it off perfectly and it looked great. My groom was happy! I'd use cakes by Shirley again and recommend them to any other bride! -

Our cake was delicious (what little we got to eat of it because it disappeared so quickly) and not a single piece was left over! It looked beautiful and I was very happy with the final product. -

Cakes by Shirley took a photo of my daughter's "dream wedding cake" and made it a reality. At the end of the evening, there were only 4 slices left. All three flavors were moist and the icing was creamy. Thanks for your special part in our special day. -

This was the best decision of all our decisions. The cake was beautful, exactly what I had in mind. It tasted great too! Cathy and her husband were so kind to us. The value was excellent.

Cakes by Shirely made a WONDERFUL cake for our big day!! It was beautiful in design, and beyond that it was the best tasting cake I've ever had! Our guests went back for seconds... on wedding cake!!! We were able to choose a different flavoring of cake for each layer, each tasted perfect. Our grooms cake looked amazing too!!
I would have and should have paid much more for that cake, but I'll take a bargain like that any day! -

Mrs. Kathy was awesome. Me, my husband, and my family enjoyed our cake tasting experience with her. We left to go to another cake tasting, however, it was terrible. We called Mrs. Kathy right away and booked with her. Not only did our cake look AMAZING, but it tasted great. Our wedding guest LOVED it. I would definitely book her again and again!!!

Cakes by Shirley provided the grooms cake for our wedding rehearsal dinner in September 2009. (See my other reviews for more info on our wedding cake provider).
My fiance designed the cake after the state of South Carolina, using the deep blue from the flag, the state seal, palmetto tree, etc. It was a beautiful two tier square design and during the consultation, C by S was very accommodating to make it work. Four of us attended the tasting and we had a fun time together sampling the different flavors they offered.
Family picked the cake up the afternoon of the rehearsal dinner and delivered it to the restaurant. When we first saw it, we were surprised to find that the ribbon trim which was supposed to be on each layer had been omitted. But after further consideration my husband preferred the final product.
We received lots of compliments on the design of the cake and loved that we were able to have heavier cakes such as carrot and chocolate. It displayed beautifully and we appreciate C by S working with us on such a tight time line. -
