Delicious cake & dessert

We taste tested cakes and dessert with various different vendors and ended up going with Cakes by Happy Eatery. The owner, Victoria, was very nice and easy to work with. Their cake is so fluffy and moist (not dry at all) and they offered a lot of dessert options for our dessert bar. Highly recommend you get your wedding cake and dessert from here!

Dessert Bar

We were provided several fun treats for the dessert bar at our wedding! Guests enjoyed not only the taste but how adorable the desserts were at our reception. The ice cream cake cones seemed to be a crowd favorite!

Most Delicious Cake Ever

After rescheduling our wedding several times due to COVID, my original cake baker wasn't available on our wedding date. I reached out to Cakes by Happy Eatery and Victoria was great! She was extremely responsive and arranged for a tasting box for us. My husband's brother has a nut-allergy, which she easily accommodated. She brought my wish of a simple and classic cake to life. Delicious doesn't even begin to describe how good it was. It has been over a month since our wedding and we are still being told how good the cake was. I will definitely be ordering any future cakes from her.

Got what I was hoping for.

Victoria was great! She was quick with the Reponses, helped with the cake tasting process even during Covid 19 shutdown, and understood what I was imaging for our wedding cake.

Great wedding cupcakes

We used Cakes by Happy Eatery for our wedding and the cupcakes were such a hit. We heard from so many people after the wedding asking where we ordered the wonderful cupcakes. In addition to six different kinds of cupcakes, we also did four versions of bite size desserts. Victoria did a beautiful job with the display, and we’ve never seen desserts disappear so fast! We made so many special requests for the tasting, and Victoria was so patient and worked closely with us to make sure everything was exactly what we were looking for. Although all of the cupcakes and desserts were delicious, the vanilla cupcake with raspberry filling and lemon icing seemed to be a crowd favorite. The proportion of cake to filling and icing was absolutely perfect, and we would definitely recommend to anyone looking for those perfect cupcakes on their special day. We are counting down the days until we get to go back and pick up our complimentary cupcakes for our first anniversary.

Hired for 10-10-19 Wedding

Victoria was absolutely AMAZING! From the moment we met with her we didn’t even hesitate moving forward. We just had to look at our budget first but she COMPLETELY delivered. We couldn’t decide on 1 flavor for our cake so Victoria let us have all 3 flavors (1 for each tier). She made the cake so beautiful to our expectations and tasteful! Our guests are still complimenting us on the cake! Some guests had multiple slices to taste each flavor! We are so happy we chose Cakes By Happy Eatery! I’m grateful they’re around the corner from my job so I can enjoy a tasty treat every now and then! The best part we get an anniversary cake so we don’t have to do the freeze our cake in the freezer for a year thing!! So blessed to have chosen Victoria!

Amazing cake!

Our guests and us loved our wedding cake! It was an amazing sponge, not too sweet. The filling and frosting were excellent and light! We heard tons of compliments from our guests as well. It was beautiful, with even buttercream on all sides and well arranged flowers on top.

Perfect Vendor for the Idea we wanted

We had a themed wedding and Victoria totally delivered! From the first meeting, she was open to our ideas, answered our questions was so excited to make our cake! The cake was delicious and everyone loved it! There was hardly any cake for my husband and me to take home! I did pay more than what I thought I would, BUT They are totally worth every penny! Our cake was definitely one of the highlights.

Best cake ever!

Victoria at Cakes by Happy Eatery made our wedding cake just as we wanted it. It was amazing. Moist and delicious. Everyone enjoyed it and wanted more. The vanilla cake with raspberry mouse was awesome so was the devils food with Chantilly creme. I'm not sure which one I enjoyed more.

WOW - Victoria was amazing. We chose her for both our rehearsal dinner cake and wedding cake. She is organized to a T and will make everything hassle-free. It is very easy for her to translate your vision into a direct quote and experience. I called her once to check in and she had all of our details available in seconds. The cake was really delicious - guests raved about it - and it was presented beautifully. On wedding day, it was like Victoria was a magician - she knew exactly where to go, how to set up, and to find our custom topper quickly and without a problem. Thank you!

Best cake I didn't have the chance to eat!! Victoria was so accommodating to us. She provided some extra mini deserts and a cake that our guests LOVED. Unfortunately we'll have to wait till our 1 year to try it, but I can't wait. The cake was so light, fluffy and just sweet enough. It came out beautifully and I'll have to update with a picture of it because the decoration on it was just beautiful. Thank you Victoria!!! We'll definitely be coming back for more!!

Cakes By Happy Eatery did a phenomenal job on our wedding cake! It was easy to set up a tasting, share our vision for our cake, and the bakery did the rest. They were very responsive by e-mail and phone, and gave me a courtesy confirmation phone call a few days before the wedding to confirm all the details. They delivered the cake on time and it looked beautiful, and tasted delicious! We even went back and ordered cupcakes for my mom's birthday and loved those too, this is a wonderful bakery. Very professional, creative, and experienced with wedding desserts. They will not disappoint!

We hired Cakes by Happy Eatery to provide the dessert for our wedding. This included a small one tier cutting cake and multiple mini desserts (e.g. cheesecakes, cannolis, pies, cake pops). We decided to go with them after meeting at the bakery and trying their cakes and desserts. They were incredible responsive and helpful throughout the planning process. We chose the dulce de leche cake, which was fantastic! By the end of the night, nearly all of the mini desserts were gone, and our guests complimented us on how good they all were, cake pops especially! The desserts were delivered to the wedding venue on time and nicely displayed for guests. We highly recommend Cakes by Happy Eatery!

We chose Happy Eatery due to their tasty cupcakes, knowledge and experience with our venue, and the sheer variety of cupcakes. We didn't want cupcakes that were too sweet and these were just perfect! The tasting with Victoria was really nice and really helped narrow down the flavors I wanted. She was really flexible on how many flavors I wanted and how many dozens. The set up of the cupcakes were just beautiful and my guests really loved the cupcakes too! I would definitely recommend! Just know that they don't have complimentary boxes for guests to take cupcakes home (pay $1 each or just buy your own from like A.C.Moore).

My husband and I came to Victoria with a "Marriage is compromise" cake idea, which included half a traditional cake side and the other half having Harry Potter, Batman, and Star Wars themes. The themed side had to be done in fondant, which I do not generally like, but Victoria assured me that the fondant on her cakes was good. Victoria was completely right! We avoided fondant where we could because I liked the buttercream icing best during tastings, but all parts of the cake were delicious. My maid of honor got my bridal shower cake from here also and its seriously the best cake I've ever ate. Victoria took our design ideas and ran with them and the cake turned out beautiful and delicious. Victoria was easy to work with and adjusted the size of our cake a couple weeks before the wedding. Another great part is that we did not save the top tier to freeze--Victoria's bakery will make you a complementary top tier for your first anniversary and I am sooo excited for our first anniversary to get some more of this delicious cake!

For our wedding, we wanted a variety of cakes and pastries instead of a traditional wedding cake. We contacted several bakeries that said we couldn’t have a tasting since we weren’t getting a traditional cake. Luckily, Victoria was happy to meet with us and provide a tasting. We were able to try different frostings/cake combinations, all of which were tasty. We worked with her to figure out our final selection of cakes (including chocolate, cheesecake, carrot, and vanilla) and mini cannoli, and black and white cookies. Victoria also suggested how many cakes and slices to order per guest and explained the day-of set-up.

Throughout our communication, Victoria was prompt in answering our questions. On our wedding day, the desserts were delivered-on time and looked great. The cakes were pre-cut, which made it extremely easy for everyone. According to our guests, everything tasted amazing, with particular praise for the carrot cake! Unfortunately, we were so busy talking to guests and dancing we didn’t get a chance to enjoy much of the cakes. But, when we returned the cake stands after the wedding, Victoria gave us some complimentary desserts to enjoy (of course, we loved her for this!).

Everything worked out really well and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Victoria and her team.

I loved working Victoria! I used to work with her when I was a Catering Sales Manager and she has always been really responsive and amazing to work with. She was super helpful when deciding our wedding cake and even through in some things in us complimentary for us. She took my vision of my dream wedding cake and made it happen so I was super pleased with it! Our guests thought the cake was delicious and beautiful! Thank you so much Victoria for all your help!!

Victoria with Cakes by Happy was amazing!! It is so easy to get overwhelmed during this process, and we went on soooo many cake tastings! Of the many options, Cakes by Happy was one of the most expensive - however, I will say that we definitely ]received value for price paid; worth every penny! We felt there were many places out there who could design a beautiful cake but the cake itself was not enjoyable to eat - or others where the cake was delicious but they couldn't meet our design requests. Victoria did an amazing job accomplishing it all, so we did not have to sacrifice taste for style or vice versa. She made a beautiful fresh cake (the day of the wedding!) that tasted delicious!

So I got married on June 3, 2016 and we chose this bakery for our wedding. We couldn't be happier that we did because we wanted a pie table really bad and a two tier cake and oh my goodness those pies and cake everyone raved about how tasty it was. They were delicious and the company was so pleasant to work with to make our vision come true. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good cake or pies!

Victoria and Cakes by Happy Eatery were great to work with. At the tasting, we were able to try many different flavor combinations, and Victoria suggested some great combinations. I and several of our guests are gluten free, and they were able to accommodate this by making the top tier gluten free and using small risers to separate the tiers. We thought that the design turned out great, and we received many compliments on the cake. They also provide a cake on your first anniversary, so no need to eat frost-bitten cake!

Customer service and quality of services at Cakes by Happy Eatery was great! The staff was very helpful during the entire cake selection/planning process. They answered all emails/questions promptly and were very courteous in all interactions. Above all, the cake was beautiful AND delicious. All my guests loved the cake and it looked exactly as I discussed with the baker. Delivery was flawless and very professional. I've had people refer the bakery to me and I would refer them to people in the future. I can't wait for my next opportunity to use this bakery.

We LOVED our cake and so did our guests! I brought in a picture to Victoria that I found on Pinterest and she was able to deliver on point! We received so many compliments on the cake. Victoria has a fantastic eye and experience in showcasing our cake. I had some misgivings when our cake topper arrived and it looked rather dull, but Victoria assured me that she would be able to use it. (We had no idea how to put the cake on display, but she knew just the right elements to make it shine. The simple white cake was presented on a gold overlay with some candles and it was just beautiful!) Not only did the cake LOOK great, but we were pleased with the TASTE as well! :)

My husband and I wanted a traditional Chinese type cake because we don't like things that are too sweet and since most of our guests are Chinese as well, we figured they would like the same. We were able to balance expectations by having Georgetown Cupcakes as our party favors for those with a sweeter tooth. (Oh... and as an aside, she also makes SUPERB moon cakes! She actually MAKES them so no more shady imports from China in a tin for us!)

Victoria was able to make us a sponge cake with a chestnut mousse as one layer, Bavarian cream with fresh fruit on another layer, and a strawberry mousse with fresh strawberries as another layer. Victoria made us a real cake for about 110 guests! (No sheet cake in the back for us!) The best part is that you don't have to freeze your top layer! She promised us a cake for our one year anniversary! (I can't wait! Especially since we barely got to eat any of our own cake on our wedding day.)

I used Happy Eatery to cater a dessert bar with small wedding cake for my recent wedding. Overall, the deserts were delicious and the set-up was beautiful and creative. We had mini cupcakes, cheesecake bites, petit fours, lemon bars, and canolis. Everything was devoured. Numerous guests even commented "best wedding cake ever."

Cakes by Happy Eatery was awesome in both the look and taste of the cakes! We had eaten cake by this vendor a year ago when we attended a wedding. The couple recommended us to Cakes by Happy Eatery so we went for a consultation. Victoria was very gracious and attentive to us. We wanted a theme of five which were our colors as well as the countries we visited in Europe. Victoria gave us various samples and we gave her our ideas ... she managed to incorporate all of our ideas in the five cakes she made for us. The end result were beautiful and delicious cakes! I had sent pictures that I taken in Europe to Victoria and she made them into sugar postcards for the cakes ... she did an awesome job! Everyone at the wedding commented how good the cakes looked and how delicious they were. Victoria even provided us with "to go" cake boxes so people can take leftover cakes home. We took whatever was left home and ate on it for two days!!! I have to add ... she even managed to make a birthday cake for our nephew and niece as well as the wedding cake and it was just as delicious! Thank you Victoria!!

Cakes by Happy Eatery provided the cake for my October 5th wedding. The cake was so delicious people are still talking about it! We got a 2 tiered offset square cake with cookies and cream filling. The cake was beautiful, the florist provided extra flowers so Happy Eatery could decorate it when they got there. The Eatery is a pretty busy place but they always called back as soon as they possibly could. So easy to work with and so helpful. I highly recommend them!!

Brides-to-be look no further. This is your wedding cake vendor. I had a trial cake tasting with 2 vendors before finding Cakes by Happy Eatery online (and later found it on the suggested vendor list provided by my vendue). I decided to make an appointment for cake tasting. Victoria was a sweetheart answering our questions regarding the sweetness of cakes; if they could adjust the sweetness (as my family don't like sweet but my fiancee's family do). The presentation in the tasting was impressive, and the flexibility of the vendor creating a topper that I wanted from online pic was one of the reasons I chose Victoria as my vendor. Don't stress yourself looking for others, as Victoria will make the cake you want on your special day. My guests enjoyed my wedding cake (many went for 2nds and there were no left overs). Unfortunately, I was too busy talking to other guests, that by the time I got to the table, no more cakes for the bride!

We absolutely loved our cake - not only was it beautifully done but it tasted like heaven! We did a simple chocolate (devil's food) cake with buttercream frosting. It was exactly like I had imagined only better - we wanted a specific design and had a ton of trouble finding a bakery that would make our dream cake for a reasonable price. I could not have dreamed of a more beautiful or more delicious cake than the one Cakes by Happy Eatery made for us at our wedding. From the small flower details, to the creamy frosting, to the fluffy cake- the whole thing was amazing. Plus, Vicky and her staff were such a pleasure to work with! They were willing to make my every wish come true-- including giving us two different flavors (carrot cake w/ cream cheese frosting and vanilla w/ strawberry frosting.) Cakes by happy eatery did a great job with my wedding cake. The flavors were so moist has the fondant it was great. They did an amazing job with the wine cups sitting on the 2 tier of the cake holding up the 1 tier , and the lay out of fresh rose top it off. It was an amazing job and they made my wedding came so surreal I will always go here for any bakery needs.

Victoria at Happy Eatery was wonderful to work with. We chose a simple cupcake tier "cake" that was very low cost, but tasted absolutely amazing! On the day of the wedding, just moments before the wedding was set to begin, movement of the cake table cause the top tier to fall to the ground and break. All without my knowledge our coordinator called up Happy Eatery and without hesitation, they baked and brought in a replacement. I had a wonderful evening and never knew the stress of the cake until the next morning.

Cakes by Happy Eatery was absolutely amazing! We had a 3 tier wedding cake and a groom's cake. The wedding cake was beautiful and turned out just as we had invisioned it. The groom's cake was also exactly what we had in mind and both were delecious. The red velvet is to die for! They were very easy to work with and with having a winter wedding Victoria assured us that snow or no snow we would have our cakes!

I ordered a Philadelphia Phillies themed groom's cake for my husband from Cakes by Happy Eatery in Manassas. I was very pleased with the results. The Devil's Food cake with chocolate mousse was to die for! The cake was beautifully decorated and enjoyed by all. It was about $300 but was well worse it! The look on my husband's face was priceless when he saw the cake! Victoria and her team were very helpful! I look forward to ordering my husband's birthday cake from there in the near future!

Thank you thank you thank you! My husband and I are not cake people... at all... We were facing the dilemma as to what to do for our wedding cake. We had no idea whether we were going to want cupcakes or cookies or what. We sat down with one of the consultants there and were SOLD... on CAKE. Who knew? We told her all the sweet things we loved and why. That was enough for her to come up with a fantastic creation... vanilla cake with dark chocolate ganache, bavarian cream, and fresh strawberries in the middle. AMAZING! It was such a stress-free situation, it made our lives all the less hectic.

My cake was beautiful and EVERYONE said it was delicious!! They were great, good prices and easy to work with. They delivered the cake on time and set everything up nice. They give you a free one year anniversary cake so you can serve the entire cake at the wedding and not worry about freezing the top of the cake, I am looking forward to that!

I loved my cake! Particularly, I loved it because it was so light and flavorful. Most cakes that I tasted were so dense and way too sweet. But Cakes by happy eatery has a great recipe in their light cake with a really great balance of flavors. Victoria was awesome to work with as well. You can tell she has such a passion for baking and takes pride in her job. She's extremely responsive, flexible and very creative.

We also had our wedding favors made through Cakes by Happy Eatery. We wanted to combine Polish and Italian cookies in one favor box to represent cookie baking traditions from both sides of the family. The bakery had plenty of Italian cookies to choose from, but they'd never made a polish cookie called the Nut Tossi. We gave her a recipe (which apparently takes years of baking to perfect), and Victoria did a test batch to make sure it was correct. The cookies turned out to be perfect--they were very moist and delicious!

I really appreciate the professionalism and experience that Victoria Wu and Cakes by Happy Eatery provides. If you want a delicious cake that's light but still full of flavor, go with Cakes by Happy Eatery!

My friend and I attended a bridal showcase, where we sampled several different wedding cakes. We both loved the cake from Cakes by Happy Eatery—it was very light and not overly sweet. My fiancé and I then had a tasting with Victoria, and we were both sold. In addition to the wedding cake, we decided to order a groom’s cake. What made this so much fun was that Victoria helped us to create a design based upon my fiancé’s passion for hockey. We didn’t have a rehearsal dinner, so both cakes were served at the wedding reception. Guests enjoyed both cakes so much that, to our surprise, we had very little left over. We enjoyed the cakes so much that we’ve ordered two birthday cakes since the wedding!

I did not do your traditional cake. We decided on a cupcakes. Our cupcakes turned out better than I could have ever imagined. Not to mention they were delicious. The staff at Cakes by Happy Eatery were awesome, they arrived on time, they were fair on pricing and came highly recommended by our vendor. Not too mention on our 1 year anniversary they make you a new cake. Yum! Cant wait :)

Our cake was beautiful and it was exactly how I imagined it! They sat down with us and really listened to what we wanted and let us taste many flavors. They were very responsive to our needs and people really complimented how beautiful it was on the cake table!

I wish I could post a picture here to show you how beautiful the cake was. It was even more delicious than it was pretty, though. It's a good thing that the kitchen staff had the foresight to cut small pieces, because people wanted to try every layer, so I think jest about everyone had multiple servings. We were so dazzled at the tasting, but we finally decided on a layer of chocolate cake with strawberry mousse, a layer of vanilla cake with lemon Bavarian cream, and a layer of red velvet cake with cream cheese. With their mouths still full, people raved to us that this was the best cake they had ever eaten. There were literally only three slices left over, which were wrapped for us to take home from the wedding. I put them in the freezer, since we were leaving on our honeymoon the next day. Two weeks later, when we returned, I took a slice out of the freezer and we shared a slice. We agreed that it was still the best cake we'd ever eaten, although he likes the chocolate better and I love the lemon.

Additionally, Victoria could not have been nicer. We'd been to several wedding shows in search of cake, and endured many attitudes from people didn't deliver, had limited options, and thought of themselves as artists who were forced to interact with the public. Victoria was friendly, helpful, and the cake was...wow! Moist, perfectly flavored, sweet without being cloying. And it looked so beautiful! We went with something simple, but elegant. My husband (I love saying that!) is having a birthday next month, and I offered to go back to Happy Eatery for a cake for his party. He practically drooled in response.

OH MY GOODNESS!! I just loved my cake. They were able to take my ideas and make it a reality. It tasted amazing and was so beautiful. They make birthday cakes as well, and I will be getting all of mine from their location from now on.

Victoria made the most amazing cake for us! I wanted a napoleon cake and everywhere we went, they wouldn't make it because they said it was too hard to do as a wedding cake. Victoria at happy eatery was up for the challenge because she had done it before. She did an amazing job and the cake looked amazing!! Better than that, it tasted wonderful! I was so excited to finish dinner at the reception so we could cut the cake and eat it! I would recommend them to anyone!

The cake was setup well in advance on the day of the wedding. Victoria makes extremely delicious, soft, wedding cakes and she is usually at most of the major wedding/bridal shows in the area. Everyone loved how the cake looked and how it tasted. The cost was fair and competitive with other bakeries in the area. Try some of their cakes -- I am sure you won't want a cake from anywhere else!

The cake was beautiful! Since we had a smaller wedding we had what they called a "speciality" cake. I was very pleased with the fact that they didn't try to sell us a larger "wedding" cake. Other bakeries I considered would not make a smaller version of a wedding cake and wanted me to purchase something that was way too big for my wedding. The tasting was a lot of fun and very informative. The cake looked exactly like what the pictures was but more beautiful. The guests all enjoyed it and were pleased that it was very moist and yummy!

OMG! EVERYONE LOVED OUR CAKE! We did not have a traditional cake and our idea was an original one. Victoria and her staff really pulled it off and even better than I could have imagined! We had her replicate hold 9 of the golf course we were married on and she did a phenomenal job! The cake tasted even better than it did in our tasting too! We loved it and heard from the clubhouse that many peopleeven asked to take some home! I am so glad we found her and booked her!

Victoria did an excellent job with our wedding cake. My husband and I wanted something unique to our tastes and style and her business definitely gave us what we were looking for. Not only did our cake look good, but it tasted amazing! Another unique feature to her business is that instead of saving your cake top for your first anniversary, she will give you a complimentary fresh cake on your first anniversary.

Our wedding cake had a specific theme - it was designed to reflect my husband's love for the Denver Broncos. He was so shocked that he did not want anyone to take it down or even cut it! It was more than what I expected and Happy Eatery did a fantastic job of bringing the cake table to life!

They can create whatever you want and have absolutely beautiful designs and ideas. Their cake stays fresh! When you go to eat it it's soft and fresh not dry and hard. Everything was delicious and looked perfect!

Victoria and Emily are beyond amazing. I have eaten many desserts from Happy Eatery so it was no question who we would ask to make the dessert for our wedding. My husband and I opted for a small topper cake to cut and then served assorted desserts to the guests. (Cookies, Brownies, éclairs, cupcakes, Napoleons) When we met with Emily for the tasting she had so many goodies for us to try, it was so hard to narrow down our choices. She offered great advice about how many pieces to serve and different options that we greatly appreciated. They are both so personable and truly care about their customers. My husband is a huge fan of banana pudding so they even made little shot glass size banana puddings for the guests to enjoy. We had several guests from New York that even said the éclairs and Napoleons rivaled those from NY. Everyone complimented the desserts and said they tasted like they just came out of the oven.

Even if you are not looking for a wedding cake I would suggest Cakes by Happy Eatery for any of your dessert needs. Thank you Emily and Victoria!!!!

My wedding cake was not only beautiful but so delicious. Everyone commented on how surprised they were with the flavor. Happy Eatery did such an amazing job. We only had a 2 tiered cake and decided pick up the cake to save the $100 delivery fee. I'm so glad we did because the 2 tier cakes are fairly easy to move. However, if your cake is super fancy I would let the experts transfer it to the wedding location.
