My wedding was back in October, and this review is long overdue but much needed. Let me just say that Tabitha's buttercream icing reminds me of how my mama and great grandma make their icing which is hard to beat in my opinion. My husband and I absolutely loved our wedding cake from Cakes by Design. Every single wedding guest raved about how our wedding cake was the best cake they've ever had out of any wedding attended. We couldn't agree more! Not only was Tabitha an amazing baker for our wedding, but she was also patient and accommodating. Such great customer service is hard to come by especially while serving great desserts at an affordable price! If you are looking for a baker that can backup the flavor and bring quality service, then you definitely need to book Cakes by Design by Tabitha.Cakes by Design's reply:

Tabitha was amazing from tasting to set up the day of. She took the vision we had and made it work. I had the flowers and topper ready and she took care of getting everything put together. It looked beautiful! But more importantly, it tasted AMAZING. The bottom layer was cinnamon cake with cream cheese filling and the two other layers were white chocolate cake with raspberry filling The cakes were so moist! I have no idea how she had cakes that moist sitting atop one another with pillars no less! There wasn't a single piece of the white chocolate left and the only reason we had any cinnamon left was because our catering team didn't realize there was another flavor and didn't cut it right away. But what was cut was eaten. We cut all the remaining cake into slices and froze them individually and a week later they are still moist and delicious Highly recommend!Cakes by Design's reply:

Not a crumb left.
Almost didn’t go to our cake tasting. We had hired a caterer who because he was awarded the contract to host my daughters wedding, caterer said he would throw in the cake for free!
and who doesn’t like free stuff!
But we tasted caterers cake and we’ll it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t his specialty either.
Luckily my daughter had not canceled our cake tasting with Cakes by Design.
We were blown away! All her flavors were exceptional!! We called the caterer right away and said, thanks but no thanks.
Cakes by Design was, professional, affordable, but above all spectacular in flavor, richness and scrumptious.
Our guests were blown away!! Not a crumb left!!

I highly recommend Cakes by Design! This cake was not only so delicious (my wedding guests made a point to tell me how good it was!) but also beautiful. Working with Tabitha was wonderful - she worked with me to figure out my favorite flavors and with the help of her expertise we came up with a really fun and unique 3-tier wedding cake with different flavors/fillings on each tier! I wanted a very simple design and it turned out just as I imagined. She was very responsive and timely and just a dream to work with. Amazing Cake!
Tabitha did a wonderful job on our cake she created for our October 8th, 2022 wedding. Since I was planning my wedding long distance, it was my mom and grandmother who met with Tabitha and chose her to make our wedding cake. When our wedding day came I was thrilled with how everything turned out, the cake was beautiful and tasted absolutely amazing. Tabitha graciously worked with my family and I to match flavors to our Mexican theme- Chocolate Cinnamon Dulce de Leche and Cafe con Leche- which complimented the rest of our menu perfectly. Beautiful and delicious cakes
We ordered two cakes from Cakes by Design. Both turned out absolutely spectacular. They tasted so good the only left over cake was the top tier we are saving. Highly recommend for the following:

Our wedding cakes turned out absolutely incredible!!🥰 My husband and I still can not believe how beautiful they turned out and everything was so professional with Tabitha. We had custom designs for both the bride & grooms cake and we were blown away with how she was able to make our ideas come to reality. For the groom cake, she was able to make these incredible little queen guard men out of fondant (my hubby was in the English queen’s guard and so this was lovely and sentimental) Also, we got to go do a cake tasting with her in order to help us decide on the flavor and they all tasted so good that we had a hard time deciding. We went with the strawberries & champagne flavor and it was delicious. We still have wedding guests talking about our cake months later after the wedding❤️❤️ Also, she allows you to have styrofoam cake layers if you want it to be a taller cake but don’t want to spend a fortune. The styrofoam is decorated with icing just like the rest of the cake of course and so you would never be able to tell. Highly highly recommend & so happy we went with her!Cakes by Design's reply:

10 Stars for this Geat Gatsby Wedding cake
I planned a great Gatsby wedding and reception. I found some Gatsby art deco cakes on line. I met with Tabitha and discussed the design..the key was that we didnt want the fondant which is normally used to do intricate designs on cakes. Tabitha was able to use her delicious butter cream frosting on all layers and still create the extraordinary intricate design on the outside of the layers to duplicate the photos.
We had her triple fudge cake pops dusted with gold in place of the groom's cake.
My guests devoured the two bottom layers and all cake pops while the groom and I were occupied leaving us with only the top layer for our anniversary..Lol.. fortunately, we did get the first bites!!
If you are looking for the most delicious, beautiful wedding cake you have ever seen, Ms. Tabitha and her Cakes by Design is the baker for you! You wont be disappointed...artistically "she nailed it" and makes the best wedding cake you ever tasted !!! She has an incredible array of flavors for both the cakes and fillings. We chose three different cakes and fillings and all were absolutely delicious!!!

From the consultation to the delivery, everything was smooth. We had alternating layers of cakes and a specific design and Tabitha did an amazing job! She was so fabulous to work with and quick to respond. The cake was so beautiful and I could not be happier with her and her work.

Tabitha was very responsive from the beginning and flexible with delivering the cake when there was a hiccup with our venue. Her cakes are gorgeous and delicious, especially the dulce de leche with cinnamon buttercream filling! Beautiful, delicious, well-priced cake!
We just had our wedding and Tabitha made us a four-tiered cake with all kinds of delicious flavor combos (one per tier). It was seriously so beautiful and our guests loved eating it. The price was the best around and she used an inspiration picture we shared with her and executed the design wonderfully. Tabitha was great to work with!! She understood my vision and the cake testing was great, we went with her for my wedding on January 2nd and she delivered above and beyond! We ended up going with various flavors of sheet cakes that provided our guests with big fluffy piece of cake! Then for my husband we did a chocolate grooms cake and a small two tiered bridal cake. Couldn’t have picked a better person to make my wedding cake! The grooms cake turned out so wonderful with the chocolate covered strawberries and the bridal cake was absolutely beautiful! We were so impressed with the cake flavors we selected for both the bridal cake and grooms cake. We should have swapped layers though because the mint chocolate was definitely a crowd favorite and disappeared quickly! Both cakes were beautiful and we had so many comments on the grooms cake. Tabitha made the bride’s and groom’s cakes for my wedding. Not only were they delicious (or at least the two bites I actually got to taste in the whirl of the reception), but they were absolutely beautiful and turned out exactly like we had imagined. The groom’s cake was especially impressive, she was able to make a spitting image of the Aggie Barn (whoop!). We got so many compliments from friends and family about how well they turned out. Tabitha is the best!
I would HIGHLY recommend Tabitha for your cake and or dessert needs. Her desserts are delicious. I went with another bakery for my wedding cake but Tabitha supplied Dessert shooters, mini cheesecakes,
Macarons, brownies, and lemons squares for my dessert bar. She is extremely accommodating which made the process so smooth. Throughout my wedding planning there were several unforeseen changes that had to be made and Tabitha was so flexible throughout the entire process. Everyone raved about the desserts, they were a hit! -

The wedding cake Tabitha made for us was beautiful, tasty and affordable! We were able to do a tasting beforehand, and she has a lot of flavors and fillings to choose from. It looked exactly like the inspiration picture I showed her. She baked enough for 75 servings at our wedding of 60 guests, and there were no leftovers! We couldn't have been happier with Cakes by Design. Tabitha was laid back and very easy to work with. The cakes tasted phenomenal (her champagne is her most popular, we were taken aback by that, tried it at our tasting, and loved it and selected it, definitely try it!), her prices absolutely couldn't be beat, and the cakes were beautiful. Tabitha is a true professional who has great customer service skills and is a wonderful baker! After providing her with sketches of what we wanted, she was able to bring our vision to life. She added flowers and greenery to the cake which really make it stand out from other wedding cakes we've seen in the past. We ordered a three tiered bridal cake in Champagne (with raspberry), red velvet and vanilla flavors. Our consultation with Tabitha was scheduled at 6:30PM but we were running behind schedule. We knew it was going to be a hit or miss if we told her our situation (being stuck in traffic) from Dallas. However, despite the circumstances, she was very patient & still waited for us to get there.
Her reviews / questions on our wedding cakes were straight forward & she answered all the questions we would’ve had, before we even thought of them! lol

Tabitha was great. She has great designs and flavors that you can customize to your liking. She is very flexible and will meet you at a coffee shop near you. Her prices are very good and her cake was absolutely delicious. Our wedding day went great in regards to cake because she delivered on time and we had no problems whatsoever. We recommend going with her if you want peace of mind. The process was literally stress free. All we had to so is choose the designs then pay and the cake came out beautifully and had great details. Thanks Tabitha for making our day great.

The Best Wedding Cake EVER!
Tabitha was such an amazing baker to work with. She was flexible helpful and truly wanted to give us exactly what she wanted. We had tried 6 other bakers and hers was BY FAR the best tasting and the best priced! What more could you want! She was fantastic would highly recommend! -

She is not trying to rip you off like most wedding vendors, but is just trying to deliver a quality product that you will love. The cake was so delicious too, and she even made my top tier gluten-free (and it was so delicious!). I HIGHLY recommend Cakes by Design!!

Dixie Sent on 04/19/2018Everyone loved Tabitha's cake at our wedding, it was gone fast! First of all, price is very reasonable. She's very responsive - no more than 24 hours to get back to you! Also very flexible in terms of schedule, she'll do her best to work around your schedule to meet with you, and since she's a home baker, meetings will be anywhere in between you and her. Very polite, helpful and have great suggestions. She was able to do the design I asked even though I changed it a couple times, it was still spot on! Since after the wedding, my friends and family have had events and had asked me where we got our wedding cake, and Tabitha is always on my top of recommendation list. Can't wait for future events!

There was no cake left by the end of the night and the groom and I only got to taste it :( But we are so happy that people liked the cakes so much! Her prices were also very reasonable and she is very flexible. Thanks for the great service, Tabitha!

Tabitha Sent on 05/22/2014I can not say enough how amazing this cake was! not only did it look amazing but I have never been to a wedding before where people are asking for more cake, and calling you the next day to see if you had any left. I had provided cake boxes for guest to take a piece home with them I had 150 boxes and about 90 guest, I got to take 1 piece home with us, we thought long and hard about going ahead and cutting into our top tier and just saying a *piece* of it instead. She did both cakes Brides and Grooms and the grooms what outstanding. It was his 18 wheeler with a step deck trailer with his two play toys on the back. it even had working lights in it! Tabitha truly out did herself. -

All of both cakes were completely eaten. If you are looking for a beautiful, tasty and affordable wedding cake, look no further. -

After our initial appointment, in which we specifically stated our wedding theme (art deco) I sent over some pictures to make sure Tabitha knew what I was expecting. She also proceeded to charge me a fee because she said my cake would need to be a fondant cake with edible glitter and rhinestones. After paying her +$500 for this cake, what I got was a buttercream cake with sugar sprinkles on it. Not at all what she said I was to receive on the wedding date. Obviously I was upset and annoyed, because that wasn’t the cake I paid for. The money wasn’t an issue, the issue was the over charging and the under delivery of her services. I did get a refund after I reached out for the up charge of $150 for the fondant that she decided not to add to my cake. If you’re looking for a simple cake this might be the vendor for you. BUT if you want a professional fondant cake, look else where or you might be left disappointed.Cakes by Design's reply:
