We went to several bakeries before deciding to work with Michelle at Cake. We didn’t really like the cake factory type options, and were much more impressed by Michelle’s one woman, small bakery. We loved that she took a personal interest in us and what we wanted for our cake, and she really worked with us and took the time to design a cake that we loved. Plus her cake is amazingly delicious, and she allowed us to customize the flavors to make it exactly what we wanted. The cake turned out exactly how we wanted it, and received several compliments both on how it looked and how it tasted.

After ordering 40 cupcakes at Cake. form my shower, and getting a customized to our theme and delicious assortment - I was sold on having a surprise groom's cake throught them. Unfortunately our reception has a package cake deal - otherwise I would have gone with Cake. in Lexington!
With only two weeks before our rehearsal dinner, Michelle at Cake. was able to whip up a 3D "cat" cake for us to surprise my husband to be. I ordered the minute man flavor which is gold with fresh strawberries and it was the hit of the night. No one wanted to cut it because it was so adorable. I provided Michelle with pictures and a general idea of what I wanted and she created something so authentic and life like it blew everyone away. She is also super sweet and hard working and will make the wedding experience much less stressful than it already is. She has a huge portfolio of work (some of which include movies filmed in the area) and very low prices compared to other shops. Call her without any doubts! She also runs a crazy busy cupcake business all day so give her more time than I did!

The cake we had was absolutely beautiful, and Michelle and her husband were incredibly nice. The cost was a bit higher than anticipated, but well worth the money!

Cake. did our wedding cake and groom's cake for the rehearsal dinner. Both of them were beautiful and delicious! I definitely recommend the strawberry "Minuteman" cake. Cake. also made an adorable cake topper which was customized to look like us, including the colors of my bouquet and my husband's uniform.

We met with Michelle at the bakery, and she is really helpful! We got to sample 7 or 8 different flavors and take samples of our top choices home for our families to try. The bakery is really flexible about design changes, and you can change your cake up to 2 weeks before the wedding. I didn't end up changing it, but it's nice to know that it was an option.

There were some logistical issues with the groom's cake. I called and emailed to order it a few months before the wedding but didn't hear back from the bakery for several weeks. Apparently there was some computer problem at the bakery and they weren't able to respond to emails, so they had a lot of nervous brides trying to reach them. Luckily I had plenty of time before my wedding, but I don't know what would have happened if it was a more urgent order. I was able to order the groom's cake in plenty of time, as a surprise for my husband at the rehearsal dinner. Our rehearsal dinner was held at a chain restaurant, and the cake was delivered to the wrong location. An employee at that location ended up bringing the cake to our restaurant in time to be served for dessert. The cake was fantastic and nobody knew that it was late. But it was supposed to be on display the entire time we were there, so I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't there when we arrived.

The logistical snags were a bit stressful, but overall I would recommend Cake. because their cakes are delicious and look amazing!

We knew wanting a non-traditional wedding cake would involve finding the right baker who was willing to work with us to achieve what we wanted. We found cake at a tasting we went to and went to meet with (then-owner) Michelle who was excited to work with us to create what we wanted. We signed papers with her and it was not until months later, when trying to get in contact with her, we found out the bakery had been sold.

We went in to meet with the new owner and from a tiny, grainy picture we gave the old owner she created a sample of the cake we wanted. This grew our confidence in her and we were excited to get to work with her.

We had a few other phone exchanges and went in at least once more to meet with Susan and something gave us a feeling that something was not quite right. But we put our confidence in Susan to deliver what we wanted.

Susan called the day before our wedding to confirm the time of the cake delivery; maybe she was pulling through.

When we saw what was delivered it looked NOTHING like the sample she made us. There were way fewer pieces than we had signed a contract for, there were other assorted cut cakes and cupcakes - not at all what we asked for.

A few days after the event we called Susan to discuss our disappointment. She got very defensive very quickly, pulling out every excuse in the book as to why she delivered what she did and how we should have been happy with the results. Towards the end of the call she asked what we were looking for, in which we responded a refund. She yelled “FINE” and then proceeded to hang up on us.

From there we opened a claim with our credit card company. They called Susan on our behalf, from which we received another phone call from Susan. She yelled at us again, getting very defensive about what she delivered to us. After a very uncomfortable back and forth she finally agreed to a 50% refund, on which we are still waiting to see on our credit card.
