From the moment I placed the order, the customer service was exceptional. They were responsive, professional, and really took the time to understand exactly what I wanted for my event.The cake itself was an amazing . The flavor was just as amazing—moist, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. I opted for orange blossom and it was a huge hit with my guests. It’s clear that this vendor uses high-quality ingredients, and the attention to detail really set them apart.

Above and Beyond Perfection!
Cake Fiction was the perfect choice for our summer wedding in NJ. We had dealt with many bakeries that told us our desired design was "too much" or even "not possible," but Cake Fiction was confident that they could make our vision a reality. The result was a GORGEOUS three tiered cake with bold colors and all our design ideas represented. We were proud to take photographs with the cake all throughout the wedding. Some guests even stole away with the top tier of the cake (which featured an elaborate fairytale castle) into the photo booth for more cute shots. Aside from the design, the cake itself was delicious - all the combinations of filling and cake made perfect sense together. It was enjoyed by all.
From the tasting to the big day, Cake Fiction was 100% dedicated to making our vision a reality. Thanks!

Amazing and Delicious!
This past October my partner and I worked with Paula at Cake Fiction for our wedding at Jack’s Barn in Oxford, NJ, and were so impressed! We initially set up a tasting at their kitchen/shop, which was so much fun. Paula and her husband were so lovely and their shop space is too cute! We booked them on the spot, and worked with them to design a two-tier wedding cake and a dozen cupcakes. So delicious! They were a hit at our wedding and we still receive compliments on the cake/cupcakes. We’d recommend Cake Fiction to anyone who’s looking for a tasty and unique cake/dessert for their event!

Wonderland Came True!
I am so happy with choosing Cake Fiction for my wedding day! Paula did an amazing job and made the cake of my DREAMS for my Alice in Wonderland theme wedding. Our wedding cake was great, followed by some Eat Me cupcakes for our guests and best of all the Mad Hatter Tea Party Clock display cake we get to keep and cherish for years to come. An angel in the bakery
Paula was such an angel. Due to Covid and not being able to do any cake tastings, my husband and I were going to forego the wedding cake... This was not ok with my family. The moment I told them we weren't going to do a cake they were enraged. Of course, this was two weeks before the wedding. I got on the phone and made some calls. The catch here was I was not going to settle for any old cake.... my design was simple ye beautiful, water color look with gold flakes.... but my flavor ... that I wanted to have fun with. I did not want french vanilla or strawberries and creme. Then I found Paula..... KEY LIME CAKE yes, please and thank you!!! I was ready to commit to her... oh yea its two weeks before...Paul tells me she is booked solid and cant do my rush order. I was devastated but I understood. Moments later my phone rang, Paula felt so bad that she made some moves and squeezed me in!!
As far as the day of, SEAMLESS. I didn't even know she was there and dropped the cake off, but she swooped in set me up and everyone had a unique delicious summer wedding cake.

So beautiful and delicious!
We were so relieved to find Paula at Cake Fiction after being less than impressed by the tasting set up through our venue's preferred vendor. Luckily, they allowed us to bring from an outside bakery. Paula's barn in Long Valley was so beautiful and the tasting was fantastic. We had a great time and honestly loved everything we tried, so it was tough to make a decision! She made a beautiful naked cake for us, closely following models combining several different images I sent her. She even worked with my florist so that she could arrange the fresh flowers with the berries at the venue herself. Everything was perfect and I'd recommend her strongly to any friend! Perfect cake for our wedding!

Cake Fiction is the best! We have used them for multiple events: baby shower, birthday and our wedding! They are the easiest to work with and make ordering your wedding cake stress free and fun! We had our cake taste testing with Paula and it was a moment I won’t forget. The cakes are delicious and gorgeous. My guests all raved about our wedding cake. We had red velvet with cream cheese frosting, chocolate cake with vanilla bean filling, vanilla cake with chocolate raspberry filling. Paula also helped me create a surprise groom’s cake for my husband who is a veteran and that was pound cake with praline filling. I will always use cake fiction for my events and recommend them to anyone.

Paula and Simon designed and baked a wedding cake that exceeded our expectations. Paula's skills as a designer and baker made our vision come to life with ease and we could not be happier with how the cake looked and tasted. We love dessert, so the taste of the cake was definitely a priority for us, and the toughest part of the whole tasting process was narrowing down which flavors we liked the best! So many of our guests complimented the look and taste of the cake, and we were thrilled with everything about it. We moved out of state a few months before the wedding, and despite this, Paula did a great job keeping us in the loop and coordinating with us and the venue. We absolutely recommend Cake Fiction!

Nature on a Plate!!!
I had my wedding at Schooley Mountain Park in NJ and was desperate to find a cake decorator a month before my wedding..I have moved down to Florida so I had a very limited time during my short visit to tie up some loose ends while I was there. We found Paula and Simon on a google search and we are so lucky we did! I called the number and these two are so sweet that they met with us even though they weren’t open that day. Since my wedding was an outdoor wedding I wanted something to match the park and that was my only vague idea. They took that and brought it to life!! In minutes I picked a design..had picked my filling..and had a handrawn picture of my future wedding cake! They made the whole process super easy..even for someone like me who is super indecisive! You are also able to contact them to add/change details as you get them! On my wedding day my cake was amazingly beautiful and was absolutely delicious!! Everything about Cake Fiction was just amazing and I cannot recommend them enough!!!

Paula and her team were wonderful to work with. I had had her cupcakes a few years ago as a guest at a wedding and I knew I wanted them whenever I got married- they did not disappoint! We went for a tasting at Paula's barn and picked out four flavors to serve guests at the wedding. When I called Paula some time later with a request for a change, Paula was totally flexible and understanding. I also reduced the number of cupcakes based on our RSVPs and she was again understanding and flexible. The cupcakes arrived on time and looked BEAUTIFUL. I thought we would have lots of leftovers but sure enough we only had a few left at the end of the night. They tasted even better than they looked, and am savoring each remaining one. I cannot recommend Cake Fiction enough!

I really cared about having a delicious cake made from fresh ingredients, which is exactly what Paula provides. We also had a very different theme and Paula really caught onto our vision of a pierogi-shaped cake and pierogi-shaped cupcakes. She made little pierogi toppings and went so far as to give them a filling. Everyone was talking about how good the cake and cupcakes were. Best decision.

We chose Cake Fiction after reading their website and saw the schooling that Paula had received. We arrived at a cute couintry setting with a homey atmosphere. Paula and Simon met us and we had a taste test in a comfortable friendly atmosphere. The flavors offered were many. She uses high quality ingredients. All the cakes tasted wonderfully. She can make almost any custom cake you can think of. The cake I asked her to custom make looked exactly like the picture I showed her, and was the best tasting cake I ever had. Really! It was delivered as and when promised. I highly recommend this place.

Paula provided my daughter's wedding with a beautiful cake that tasted delicious. I've had many wedding cakes that tasted strange or artificial, but Paula uses all natural quality ingredients that result in a delicious cake. Our guests complimented us on the cake. Cake Fiction has many styles and flavors to choose from to create a unique wedding cake. We chose pound cake with raspberry mousse and lemon curd fillings. Yum! We wish we had an extra slice right now. We would definitely use Paula and Cake Fiction again. She is an artist too in the cake's design. It was lovely.

My husband and I worked with Paula and Simon of Cake Fiction for our wedding cake. It was one of the easiest decisions we made in planning our wedding-- they went over all of the options with us, sketched a perfect design and even went out of their way to bake extra cupcakes so we could share the tasting experience with our families. The cake was absolutely beautiful, and their interpretation of our design was more than we could have ever asked for. Our guests continue to talk about how delicious the cake was -- and we never thought we would say this, but it was so good that we actually cant wait to dig into our topper on our first anniversary! The customer service was amazing. The cake tasting was amazing. Loved the kitchen in the barn feel. The delivery of the cake was amazing. Paula at Cake Fiction is incredibly gifted, and an absolute joy to work with. She baked the most beautiful and delicious cake for our wedding. Paula works out of an incredibly gorgeous converted barn, and the tasting was such fun! She uses no artificial ingredients- grinding all of her flours, colors the frosting/ icing with natural ingredients i.e. berries, etc!, makes everything from scratch! Truly remarkable, and unique. My husband and i purchased a 6" round cake + 144 cupcakes for our recent wedding and they were DELICIOUS. Paula was a dream to work with and the quality of the product was absolutely amazing. The cake + cupcakes were both so good I wish we had gotten more so we could have taken some home with us. All of our guests raved about them. Paula was responsive, professional, and great to work with. I'd definitely recommend her and her dessert services!!

Cake Fiction was great to work with! We ordered 90 cupcakes in three different flavors for our wedding and they were delicious! Our guests loved them, we only had a couple leftover! The pairings of the icing and the cake itself were all delicious. Paula was wonderful to work with from our first tasting to the delivery of the cupcakes the day of our wedding. We highly recommend them!

Paula is so talented! There are few places that can make a cake taste just as beautiful as it looks. Our cake was PERFECT! We did a "Naked" cake with apples made of sugar (It was stunning). We chose two flavors... Apple Spice Cake and Carrot Cake (WOW!!) The cake went so fast and everyone asked where we got it. I couldn't be happier with our experience w/ Cake Fiction. From the delicious cake tasting to the final product that I can only describe with one word... PERFECTION! THANK YOU! We highly recommend Cake Fiction!

Our cake from Cake Fiction was delicious and beautiful! The decoration of fresh flowers and buttercream frosting was just as I had envisioned it, and the cake itself was very tasty. I loved the chocolate raspberry filling, and the lemon cake was wonderful. We also had two different chocolate layers - both very good - and Paula was very flexible and allowed us to make our top tier all gluten-free to accommodate some of our guests, and it also tasted divine. I could not recommend Cake Fiction more highly!

If you are hesitating to hire Cake Fiction for any occasion, please let me assure you that not hiring them would be a bigger mistake. I'm a baker myself, and the task of finding a baker that delivered the quality of cake I desired was growing tiresome. We were so grateful to find Cake Fiction - they were truly a dream. Our wedding cake was not only STUNNING, but absolutely DELICIOUS (which is the most important part of a cake)! Paula takes pride in what she does and delivers the highest quality product imaginable. She was easy to contact and a pleasure to talk through the options that would reflect our vision.The cake was moist and bursting with flavor and the Swiss meringue buttercream was perfect - not too sweet, tons of flavor and incredible smooth. She also worked with me on surprising my husband with a groom's cake. She recreated his favorite childhood cake (moist yellow cake filled with vanilla custard and fresh bananas) and it came out more delicious than he remembered it being as a kid. It was a pleasure to work with her, and we can't want to find another excuse to use her again. =)

I had a cake made of our dog, inside of University of Michigan Stadium, for the grooms cake. It was amazing!!!! My husband absolutely loved it and it was the hit of the night! The cake of our dog was unreal!! And the stadium it sat on was amazing- the details were perfect down to sprinkles foe the fans. It was absolutely amazing!

1 YEAR UPDATE: My husband and I unwrapped our cake for our 1st Anniversary. What we heard from so many friends was that this was a moment of great disappointment on their Anniversary. However, Cake Fiction did not fail us. The cake was left in the fridge for a few hours to defrost and WOW. It was as good 1 year later as our wedding night. Thank you for continuing to add to our wedding celebration! We can't wait to come back for another celebration cake!
Paula at Cake Fiction created the most appealing and delicious cake for our wedding in New York City. Guests were out of their chairs all through dinner taking pictures, not of the happy couple, but our cake. No one could get over the color match between the cake and the dresses/tuxes all from a simple sample swatch we gave Cake Fiction. It was truly unbelievable. Besides looking amazing, the taste was out of this world. It was the only item of the evening that I left the dance floor to enjoy, and finish. I have been to over 20 weddings in the past 2 years and this was the only cake I have enjoyed. The planning process was not only delicious but entertaining as well. We had the opportunity to try all of the flavor combinations as well as discuss different design elements and see sketches, pictures and samples. We made a change to our design a few weeks before the big day and within 48 hours we had an emailed sketch of our change for approval. The end result, a cake we thought was only a dream. Thank you Paula for such a great addition to our special day. We look forward to the next big event to come back in for a design appointment.

I came across cake fiction through a random google search of vendors in my area - and I could not be happier that I did. Paula was responsive and helpful from day one. I pitched my many ideas to her and she helped me figure out what I wanted it, sketched out the idea on a notepad, and somehow a few months later turned our brainstormed creation into a beautiful reality. People are still talking about what a different and gorgeous cake I had and I will certainly recommend Cake Fiction to anyone who needs a cake, or baked goods, for any occasion. I can't wait until the next time I get to work with this establishment. It is simply the best!

I would give my highest recommendation to Cake Fiction. Quite simply, Paula created a work of art for my groom's cake - I was even hesitant to have it cut up and eaten because it looked so good. I gave her a very complicated three-layer design and she did not say "no" to any of my ideas. She produced exactly what I wanted, delivered it on time, and, as a bonus, the cake tasted incredible. I plan to use Cake Fiction again for any fancy party that comes up - they are a joy to work with.

Paula and her partner at Cake Fiction were AMAZING, and were part of one of our favorite parts of our wedding; the cake of our dog/fur-baby! Everyone was a pleasure to work with from our first consulation, and everything went so smooth. Paula responded promptly to all e-mails, and the day of I didn't worry about anything. My cake was on the cake table at the reception, front and center, looking fabulous!! Everyone commented how great it was. The cake testing was yummy, but I have to admit we loved the cake so much we couldn't bring ourselves to cut into it at the wedding! I would definetely reccomend Cake Fiction for anyone looking for a unique addition to their wedding everyone will be talking about! Especially dog-lovers :)

Paula and Simon are amazing to work with! We pretty much picked them out of the good ol yellow pages and boy oh boy were we excited we found them. We walked into their store with an idea of a drum cake, tier cakes are a bit overdone that's why we looked and Paula. Paula quickly said "why not do the whole drum set? I've done one before." Then we had the tasting, Paula told us her cakes have a proper "cake to icing ratio." The bites were perfect. We told her what flavors we were looking for and she steered us in the right direction.
Paula contacted me a couple of times after our first meeting to ask me specific, detailed questions about how a real drum set looks because she wanted to get it perfect. She included drum sticks, cymbals, and even a foot pedal for the bass drum, all made of fondit. We sent her sentimental images that we wanted on our drum set cake, she didn't hesitate, simply replied "no problem." I wouldn't be writing this if it wasn't perfect. Our drum set cake was one of the most commented items at our wedding by our guests. In a few places where people could write the happy couple words of advice people "your cake is AMAZING!"
They're really amazing people with a truly artistic vision, just walk into their store and you'll see what I mean. I'd include a picture of the cake here but I can't find where to do it. Have them make your cake, you won't be disappointed.

Paula made my husband the most amazing groom's cake!!! My husband and I love the tv show Castle and Paula was able to make two cakes out of pieces from the show ... the book she made looked so real no one believed it was cake until we cut it!! The cakes taste even better then they looked. Truly amazing!! I can't wait to have another event to be able to use Paula again!!!

I ordered a DeLorean Time Machine groom/birthday cake to surprise my H with at the reception (DH is obsessed with Back to the Future). Paula, the owner, designed the cake, and I really loved working with her. We were all so impressed with how it came out. The detail of the cake was incredible! Her pricing is also very fair.

I wanted to surprise my husband with a groom’s cake at the rehearsal dinner, although I let him pick the flavors since I didn’t want him to miss out on the fun of a tasting! And OMG what a tasting, Paula has the most delicious cake and buttercream pairings. I wanted a cake in the shape of a Scrabble board, with letters spelling out all of my husband’s favorite things. She was wonderful to work with and easily translated my vision into a yummy reality. Highly recommend, I will certainly be contacting her again for future events!

I found Cake Fiction by seearching online. One of my BM and I went to check out this place and it ended up being a house hold business. We met with Paula who is the owner and baker. Her house and kitchen were awesome with fake cakes displayed as well as serious mixers, ovens, the works. This was no rinky dink operation. I wanted a poker table cake for 30 people with my husband and I sitting at the table. This cake looked and tasted amazing. Everyone was raving saying how awesome it was. If you are looking for your wedding cake or a specialty cake for something call Paula at Cake Fiction. I know I will be calling her again.

In every way, our experience with Cake Fiction was exceptional. Not only did our cake look beautful on our wedding day, but it tasted great. Customarily, no one eats the cake - this was not the case at our wedding. Many guests commented on how wonderful it was. We went to cake tastings at two bakeries, and the cake from Cake Fiction blew the other cake away. Everything tasted very fresh and homemade. We got so many compliments on our cake during and after our wedding!

We used Paula because our venue has a relationship with her. Her portfolio features a wide range of beautiful and intricate designs, from classic to whimsical (my husband was particularly delighted by the UFC Octagon she had made for a birthday party).
She was a true sweetheart through the entire process... We told her our vision (a mosaic design, inspired by Park Güell in Barcelona, cascading down tiered rounds), and we were confident she'd do a great job. But we didn't expect it to look like something Gaudí himself would have created had he baked cakes.
Wedding cake is never going to taste like it's fresh out of the oven (after all, it takes hours to decorate, and it has to be chilled). But Paula's cake came close ... absolutely delicious. We decided on almond pound cake and amaretto filling, which goes great with coffee. But she also offers intriguing fillings like dulce de leche (she's from Argentina, so she knows her DDL) and chocolate orange. We enjoyed those at the tasting.
It was more than we expected to spend on cake - even with the discount she gives for weddings at our venue - but it was so perfect. Paula truly is an artist - not only visually, but also when it comes to taste.

Paula worked with us from day one to design our cake. On top, of that she also did a grooms cake which was a replica of the new Yankee Stadium. It was incredible. People are still talking about it. Her prices were excellent and her cake was amazing!!!

The cake was tremendous and Paula was very easy to work with. We happened to live nearby to her old location so we simply walked in, and made an appointment for tasting the following weekend. There were so many incredible choices and combinations and they were all terrifically done. Paula provides some suggested/popular combinations but we actually went with a choice we came up with on our own and it was great!

I asked Paula to make a groom's cake for my October wedding as a surprise for my husband-to-be. Paula created a Vespa cake with a side car, and in the side car was a pug wearing aviator glasses. It was pure art! Paula was fantastic to work with and made the process enjoyable and easy as she was responsive, flexible, and enthusiastic about the project. The groom's cake was one of the biggest hits of our wedding - people were taking pictures and couldn't believe this cake! We had it on display during the cocktail hour and next to the wedding cake during the reception. I hope to have another opportunity to work with Paula and the folks at Cake Fiction down the road as it was a great experience all around.
