My mouth is still watering
I have delayed this review, but it's only because each time I sit down to start, my mouth waters wishing I had more cake! From the beginning to end, Butterfly Bakeshop's service was exceptional! Personalized service. Their attention to detail and what you and your partner actually wanted was indescribable. We chose a Red Velvet and Lemon Marble Cake with a Gran Marnier filling and I'd do it again as soon as I have an opportunity. Their expansive listing of flavors and combinations are exquisite. Thank you to Stacey and the whole Butterfly Bakeshop team for making the night of my dreams that much more delicious!

We cannot thank butterfly bakeshop enough for making the wedding cake of our dreams! It was not only beautiful but delicious as well! Delicious & Unique Cakes!
We were first introduced to Butterfly Bakeshop at a Bloomingdale’s registry event. Our moms kept going back to their area for more and fell in love with their cakes. The staff was incredibly responsive via email and we were able to schedule a pick-up for our tasting box really quickly. We were so excited to see fillings like dulce de leche, guava, and passion fruit buttercream. The tasting was delicious and it really got us excited about having our cake really represent the flavors of our cultures and that tasted so delicious. I loved their cake so much during the tasting; I ordered a cake for my bridal shower as well. Designing both cakes was incredibly easy with the Butterfly Bakeshop team and they delivered both cakes to the venues. Our guests loved the cake and the different fillings. We enjoyed our anniversary cake a month after the wedding and it tasted so fresh. If you’re looking for a delicious and extraordinary cake, look no further. We plan to celebrate more our life celebrations with Butterfly Bakeshop cakes!!

Beautiful and delicious wedding cake
Butterfly Bakeshop designed a beautiful and delicious cake that was exactly what we wanted. We liked the fact that they offered a wide variety of flavors and delivered the cake tastings to us so that we could taste them at home on our schedule. They were able to design the perfect cake based on our inspiration photos that we provided. We also really liked the fact that they provided us with a separate small cake for our one year anniversary. Butterfly Bakeshop delivered a cake that looked and tasted wonderful!

Delicious and Stunning!!
Butterfly Bakeshop makes the most delicious cakes we, or any of our wedding guests, have ever tasted. For our wedding, we went with 3 different flavor combinations and 5 tiers: vanilla with dulce de leche; chocolate with raspberry jam; and lemon red velvet with cream cheese. Multiple guests have reached out to us since the wedding telling us they will be dreaming about that cake for years to come. And so will we. Each layer was positively scrumptious—fresh, delicious, creamy, decadent. The list goes on. We cannot wait to taste it again on our one-year anniversary! Plus the cake itself was stunningly beautiful, and the staff were great to work with while we were planning. We thoroughly enjoyed our at-home tasting experience (they prepared mini-cupcake versions of the combinations that we wanted to try out and personally delivered them to us on our chosen day). We absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a beautiful, delicious cake that is worth bragging about!

Great service, better tasting cake!
I highly recommend Butterfly Bakeshop. First, for the tasting, they offer to-go tasting, which allowed us the opportunity to try six different cake and frosting combinations in the comfort of our home. After selecting the one we loved, they created a cake that was more than what we expected. It looked amazing and, more importantly, the cake was delicious and our guests loved it! We look forward to tasting the cake again for our one year anniversary in about 8 months! And the price was affordable!

Our wedding isn't for a little bit, so I cannot review the final product, but so far the process has been amazing! They are super responsive and professional. I scheduled a time to pick up my cake tastings and they were ready when I got there. She gave me helpful information and tips for tasting. When we selected the flavors she immediately updated our invoice. She was also very helpful in designing the cake for us from inspiration photographs. Also, if you are having your event at Sunset Terrace, they give you a complimentary anniversary cake so you don't have to worry about cutting the top off your wedding cake.

Beautiful and delicious cake for reasonable price in NYC
We were thrilled with our cake from Butterfly Bakeshop - it was beautiful and delicious without breaking bank. The ordering process and working with Butterfly was really easy. They had a ton of options to choose from, and for $50 you can buy a small a tasting kit so you can try out combinations before placing your order. We also enjoyed some of our cake a week after the wedding - still delicious!

Butterfly was one of the easiest vendors we worked with -- they were so responsive, flexible, helpful, and not to mention...their cake is insanely delicious! They made the quoting process, design process, and tasting process so easy. They sent us our choice of 5 tastings with different frosting combinations direct to our apartment. Best Cake Ever!
I would highly recommend Butterfly Bakeshop for your wedding cake. We were looking for a small cake for our destination wedding in New York City. I found Butterfly Bakeshop online and had never had something from their bakery. We were not disappointed. From the beginning, it was super easy to work with them. They had great suggestions and really worked with us to make sure our cake was everything we wanted it to be.
We were able to customize and make it exactly what we wanted for the price we wanted. We ended up with two-tiered brushed stoke cake. The bottom layer was chocolate with a chocolate buttercream filling and the top layer was lemon with raspberry filling. The cake was stunning! The cake itself was moist, the fillings were to die for and the buttercream... YUM! I can't wait to go back to New York and order our cake all over again. It was everything we could've wanted.

The process for cake tasting and ordering our cake with Butterfly Bake Shop could not have been more simple for our 9/15/18 wedding on Long Island, NY. The tasting cupcakes were delivered to our apartment and we made a night out of it! We had a specific color and design choice and in the end, everything was beautiful... and delicious. In the end, we got a 3-tier buttercream cake, bottom and top funfetti and the middle tier red velvet. Cannot tell you how delicious that funfetti was the day after the wedding! Thank you for making my wedding cake dreams come true!

We absolutely loved our wedding cake! Our guests loved it too. Not only did it look spectacular (entire cake was covered in sprinkles!) it was super tasty too. At one stage, I got so confused why the dance floor cleared out - it turns out everyone was lining up to get a taste of the cake. Super strange, considering people tend to not eat dessert that much for weddings.
Thanks again for making the experience seamless. Cake arrived on time at the venue, and the team did a great job communicating with the venue and our wedding coordinator to sort out logistics.
Totally recommend them and we're even considering ordering a small cake on our one year anniversary as it was that tasty :)

Butterfly Bakeshop was AMAZING! They went above and beyond when creating our incredible wedding cake. My husband and I were thrilled we could do an at-home tasting (so much better than someone staring at you to see if you like their cake!). We selected a cake with alternating tiers of funfetti cake with raspberry jam and vanilla cake with vanilla bean frosting. In addition to the cake, we had a sheet cake for distributing to more guests. Our guests loved that we went for the classic (yet gourmet!) funfetti and a simple vanilla - something for everyone to love. Guests raved about how great the cake was and some even contacted us after to see if they could have the leftovers! Butterfly Bakeshop was excellent at communicating leading up the wedding, were very familiar with our reception venue, and worked with our florist to coordinate flower placement on the cake. They also provided extra boxes for leftover cake and provided an anniversary cake. I'll be honest - my husband and I ate it right away because it was that good! We'll definitely be coming back for more on our first anniversary. Thank you, Butterfly Bakeshop, for your beautiful and delicious creation!!!

We were just married a few weeks ago and couldn't have been happier with our cake! We did a 4 Tier, Horizontal Buttercream Frosting, with choco cake - raspberry jam and dulce de leche filling. AMAZING. We chose 2 fillings because the hubby and I had different favorites =) The customer service from Massiel was just the best - such a pleasure. And that was very important to us . We did not feel like a bother when I emailed questions. The price was SO affordable, and in NYC, that rarely happens! It was amazing. They also provided a separate (complimentary) smaller cake to freeze and save for our anniversary. I'll be honest, we ate half of it after the wedding LOL and froze the other half. So very happy we went with Butterfly Bakeshop.

Most importantly - the cake was phenomenal. When my party ended, the only thing I made sure to take home was the rest of the cake which I continued to eat every day until it was gone. We really enjoyed working with the team and were very pleased with the cakes and frostings. The flavor combinations were delicious, and we particularly enjoyed the tasting process. I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience with Butterfly Bakeshop was. I researched far and wide for a reasonably priced, quality baker for my wedding cake - and one who would also be willing to make the Universiry of Kansas Jayhawk mascot as a groom cake. Not only did they deliver on the impossible (the latter), but they were so accommodating on the wedding cake itself
- they did exactly what we wanted on the outside and even agreed to have the layers be different flavors. The tasting was a super convenient “take home” pack of mini cupcakes and we had so much fun trying so many combinations! So many of our guests complimented us on how delicious the cake was and asked where we got it. I am already looking forward to using Butterfly for my next big event. I wholeheartedly recommend them. Massiel and The Butterfly Bakeshop were amazing! All I wanted was a rainbow cookie cake for our wedding, and they made it a reality! All of our guests thought it looked and tasted amazing. They also made two cakes our rehearsal dinner - a Thomas the Tank Engine cake for our ring bearer's fourth birthday, and a grooms cake shaped like a basketball for my husband! Would highly recommend Butterfly Bakeshop to all!

My cake was absolutely stunning and I cannot thank Butterfly Bakeshop enough. I got married at Tribeca Grill in NYC but live in Atlanta, GA so planning a wedding and all of the details remotely can be extremely stressful. However, using Butterfly Bakeshop made it stress free. I gave them a picture of what I wanted (and it was not an easy design) and there it was on the wedding day, even more gorgeous than I could imagine. And it tasted amazing. It was one of the highlights of the day for sure. Thank you again for amazing service!

We we're having a NYC wedding on a VERY small budget (Under $1000), and I was planning from another state, and they were so accommodating with our needs and cost limitations. Best of all the cake was absolutely delicious! People couldn't get enough of it, we had take home boxes that disappeared quickly!!

I used Butterfly Bakeshop for my wedding cake and I couldn't have been happier! I looked at many bakery's within the New York area, either too expensive, not flexible in regards to size, sheet cake, delivery time, flavors etc. Butterfly Bakeshop allowed me to taste a number of different flavors in the comfort of my own home, worked with me on finding the best combination in regards to cake size/sheet cake to cater to my 100 person wedding and were extremely professional at communicating immediately. The cake turned out exactly as I had asked for and the staff were amazing every step of the way. If you are looking for a reasonably priced cake and impeccable service I would highly recommend using them for your wedding or event.

From the first contact to the delivery of the wedding cake, the experience was more than I had hoped for! I live in another state and wanted to order a very small two tier wedding cake for my son's wedding in NYC. They made the entire process easy for me, including making the chosen design on a smaller scale for our small dinner party of ten people. The cake was not only beautiful, but fresh and delicious. Without hesitation, I would order from them again!

We chose a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and cookies and cream center and it was amazing. We wanted a very simple cake with just flowers on top and monogram of our initials and it looked perfect. The cake was so moist and the frosting was to die for and the cookies and cream center was the perfect compliment.

Butterfly Bakery was incredibly responsive and helpful. Very kind and flexible. They did a fabulous job and their cakes are a very good value. I would recommend their signature flavor or white cake with guava and dulce de leche-- it really stood out (and better than the other flavor I selected as well-- I had two)-- and got rave reviews from my guests.

Our wedding cake was absolutely stunning! Working with the team at Butterfly Bakeshop was a true delight--professional, flexible, and super helpful. We even recognized and recommended you on our wedding program because of the great experience we had.
We got a three-tiered cake: chocolate cake, vanilla cake and red velvet cake all with vanilla buttercream frosting. Our guests told us that it was fantastic and beyond delicious.

Love Butterfly Bakeshop! My husband and I actually tried them because our nephew gets his birthday cakes here and are the best cake we have ever eaten. So glad we went with them! The cake was delicious and exactly what we wanted. Also the price was completely reasonable. Our cake was bright and in traditional, but you can get anything from super traditional to personal design. Also the cake and the fillings are really the best thing ever!

Butterfly Bake Shop is top notch. Usually, wedding cakes are dry and boring. Not with BBS. They made a marble cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. We had many people at our wedding ask who made the cake. It was absolutely delicious - moist and rich! We finished it over the few days after our wedding.
They delivered to the wedding early. No drama, no hassle. Just absolute deliciousness. I'd recommend to anyone. BBS is definitely worth the price!

If you want a designer cake with lots of character and that looks true to life, Butterfly is the right bakery! We had a groom's cake at our wedding that was designed like an antique book and guests were trying to open it because they thought it actually was a book!

Our cake was beautiful and incredibly delicious. After our tasting we decided to go with the Red Velvet and I'm so glad that we did because everyone loved it. Butterfly Bakeshop did a fabulous job of making our cupcake tower. They offered a variety of flavors and provided us with a tasting beforehand. Our guests absolutely loved the cupcakes and couldn't stop talking about it. They also accommodated our needs and wants. My husband wanted a Lego bride and groom and they went above and beyond and created an edible Lego bride and groom. I also wanted a cupcake tower with a small cake on the top. They really listened and gave us what we needed. We loved eating the cupcakes after the wedding and cannot wait to eat our one year anniversary cake.

Butterfly Bakeshop was terrific! They were immediately responsive via email and worked with us to create the perfect wedding cake. From the tasting to the wedding day, everything was so streamlined. They were even able to incorporate a custom skyline we'd created for our travel-themed wedding into the cake, and it looked exactly as we'd envisioned. Oh and the cake was delicious too!

It was such a pleasure working with Butterfly Bakeshop. They were very responsive and easy to work with. Not only are their cakes beautiful, but their prices are very competitive. Butterfly Bakeshop made our wedding cake (to feed up to 75 people) and they were able to create exactly what we wanted. The cake came out beautiful and several guests came up to us to let us know it was delicious (chocolate cake with vanilla bean buttercream filling). In fact one couple said "We are really picky about our cakes, and this cake was delicious!" I highly recommend them!

Butterfly Bakeshop was the most delicious part of the day, not to mention being incredibly easy to work with. They were very responsive by email and despite the fact that I don't live in New York anymore were completely able to accommodate me getting cake samples to taste right around the Christmas holidays. They give you samples to take home and taste, which were all delicious. In the end we went with vanilla cake, dulce de leche and guava filling (their signature for a reason!), and cream cheese buttercream frosting. My only disappointment is that the leftovers are in my parents' fridge in New York and I'm back home in Oregon!!
Butterfly Bakeshop not only made a gorgeous cake, it was absolutely delicious!!!

We absolutely loved working with Butterfly Bakeshop. They were always so responsive and their to go tastings made it so easy to pick flavors (which all of them were so delicious). Not only was our wedding cake exactly what I asked for but I had them make a surprise grooms cake of Fenway Park that was so beyond what I was expecting. It was one of the highlights of the wedding. Butterfly Bakeshop was also extremely conscious of my budget and made sure I got everything I wanted while staying within my original budget. I would highly recommend them to any future bride and groom whether it's for a standard wedding cake or something more creative.

We purchased our wedding cake from Butterfly after my mom order a cake of theirs for our engagement party. The engagement party cake was so delicious, we didn't look anywhere else! We loved the setup of the tasting (choose cake/icing flavor combinations, pickup at store, and do at home) - it was nice to enjoy the tasting on our rooftop with a bottle of champagne!! On our wedding day, the cake was beautiful and delicious! Butterfly was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the whole process.

I had the pleasure of having Butterfly Bakeshop provide the cake for my 3/4/16 wedding. I live in CA and planned a destination wedding in Manhattan, NY (ALL through e-mail) and I'm sure any bride out there can appreciate how stressful this was. I scoured wedding wire for a bakery that not only fit my budget but had great customer reviews, and boy am I happy I found Butterfly Bakeshop. Due to the fact that I am in CA and would not be going to NY until right before the wedding I was not able to taste the cake beforehand, so I had to trust all the customer reviews that raved about how delicious their cakes were and I was not disappointed in the least. From the ordering process (super easy), they have an a la carte option where you can basically build your own cake, which makes its relatively easy to stay within your price point, to all e-mails I sent being answered in a timely manner, dealing with the staff of Butterfly Bakeshop was a breeze. The cake was delivered day of, well within the delivery time window I was given and was set up at the venue. Everyone LOVED the cake and since we were able to travel back home with it, my now husband ate left over wedding cake for about a week more and expressed how much he loved it every time. Oh, we had the marble cake with Nutella Buttercream filling, AMAZING. If I am ever in NY again and needed a cake I would not hesitate to contact the amazing team at Butterfly Bakeshop.

Butterfly Bakeshop designed both the formal cake for our daughter's wedding this past December in Brooklyn and a themed groom's cake. Both cakes were gorgeous, delivered on time, and reasonably priced. Massiel was our contact at Butterfly and she was both a pleasure to work with and responsive to all our questions. Butterfly provided us with samples of the various combinations of fillings and cake we could choose from, and all were superb. Multiple color choices of buttercream and fondant were also available for the cake exteriors. In fact, we even went to the bakeshop to match exactly the color of the formal cake's decorative buttercream floral exterior with a particular accent color used at the wedding. The whole process was painless, and was completed on time and without complications. Two beautifully designed, tasteful, and tasty wedding cakes at reasonable prices. It doesn't get better.

Butterfly Bakeshop is phenomenal! We worked with them via email for our wedding cake and it was so easy and they were very responsive. The tasting was super cool and convenient - I picked up mini cupcakes with the flavors we chose to try and we were able to taste them at home on our own schedule. The cupcakes themselves were delicious but then the actual cake at the wedding was hands down the best cake I've ever had. It was super moist, had great flavor, and I'm not a big cake/sweets person, but this was just the perfect amount of sweetness and I ended up eating every bite and then some. The design they created for me (NYC skyline) was absolutely gorgeous and even better than what I had envisioned. And finally, they coordinated everything with my venue (Battery Gardens) and I didn't need to worry about a thing. I can't wait to order more cakes from them in the future - can't get over how good it was!

True to its goals, Butterfly Bakeshop made the wedding cake selection fun, easy, and stress-free! Which I really appreciate as a busy bride! It tastes great too and is also a great value in the world of wedding cake business, especially for a wedding cake from Manhattan. I love how they give 6 free tastings that you can quickly pick up and taste where you want to with your partner. It definitely helps with making the decision to book them too! The staff were very friendly and provided excellent and prompt service whether on the phone, email or in-person. I loved that they provided 6 free tasting samples so we could choose exactly what we liked - we finally opted for a 4 layer wedding cake, with 2 layers having one flavor and another 2 layers with another flavor. The cake was fresh, soft and simply delicious. It was so delicious that there was not a single piece left after the wedding reception! Many guests also complimented us on the cake. This is testimony to their quality and taste!

Butterfly bakeshop was amazing. We shopped around for our wedding cake and believe me there's a lot of competitions in NY. But none offered what Butterfly did. I was happy to hear that we could choose and take home 5 favors and fillings pairing. They charged us when we wanted another round of tasting but that was credited towards to cake so it was fine. We had in mind what we wanted. All it took was a picture and boy did they nail it. The flavor we chose was red velvet lemon cake with bourbon pecan fillings. It was out of this world. Many of our guests had more than a slice! When you think of a red velvet cake you know you can already taste the sugar. But we chose their red velvet with lemon because it wasn't too sweet. Just perfect. Delivery was punctual too. Very professional. I'd definitely use them again, maybe for our 5th year anniversary :)

We were incredibly happy with Butterfly Bakeshop! Our wedding cake was beautiful and looked perfect with our decor and color scheme, and Kimberly was very responsive, and easy to work with. The red velvet cake was delicious, we are looking forward to our 1 year anniversary to eat it again!

Butterfly Bakeshop did a fantastic job on our wedding cake! They were an absolute pleasure to work with, and the cake was absolutely delicious as well as beautiful. A MAIN DRAW for us was their very EASY to use WEBSITE. Also, the arrangements for tastings were efficient and handled without fuss. Finally, the location near Grand Central Terminal was very convenient. Our cake was beautiful and tasted great. We had a three tiered marble cake with buttercream frosting. Each layer was decorated with rosettes and Butterfly Bakeshop did well in providing the color shades requested for each layer. We had the cake size to serve 100 and that worked out fine even though we had about 115 people at our wedding (still got to take home the top). Our filling was the Salted Caramel Buttercream and our guests loved it.

My experience with Butterfly Bakeshop was wonderful. The wedding cake was not only beautiful along with the cupcakes its was absolutely delicious. My daughter and the guest loved the cakes. They were perfection. Butterfly Bakeshop's staff was patient, courteous, informative and all around one of the best staffs I have ever worked with for any event. I wish they were here in Maryland so that I could use them more often.

They were awesome! Super fast responses, cake was designed exactly as we wanted it. They even drive 150 miles through a mountain to deliver it in perfect condition! Most importantly, the cake was delicious, tasted way better than other vendors and for s better price.

Butterfly Bakeshop was one of many cake vendors I spoke with/did taste testings while planning my sister's wedding. I am SO HAPPY I decided to go with them. The cake was absolutely delicious and our guests loved it. They worked with our budget, made last minute adjustments when requested, and the cake looked exactly how I imagined. Myself, my sister and her now husband couldn't be happier with the results. We highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a beautiful and delicious cake!

The entire staff was fantastic from design to tasting to execution. Our wedding was at Wave Hill gardens in NYC. We wanted a wedding cake to reflect the Hudson River views and the simple natural beauty of the venue. Butterfly Bakeshop personnel helped us to achieve our vision and went overboard to work within our budget. In spite of the elaborate dinner and additional sweets, many of our guests requested seconds of the cake which was absolutely scrumptious. The cake was moist and the flavors melted in your mouth.......diet consciousness was thrown to the winds. Thank you Butterfly for such a sweet way to end an extraordinary wedding.

The last thing you want for your wedding is to have to worry about the cake, and Butterfly was very professional and made everything easy. I never set foot in butterfly, or tasted anything of theirs before it arrived, but only had conversations over email, basically took a leap of faith, and yet they managed to get us exactly what we wanted. Our wedding was 75 people, so we had a small cutting cake with a large peony flower (the flower was even prettier in person than it was on the website) to serve to family, and then cupcakes containing the same fillings for the rest of the guests. The cake was absolutely gorgeous, the filling was delicious, and the cupcakes were FANTASTIC, seriously rich and looked beautiful, and the guests kept commenting on how good they were. Everything arrived ahead of time, with frequent communication between Butterfly and our reception venue. Furthermore it was surprisingly affordable, especially for NYC. I would recommend them to anyone.

Butterfly Bakeshop was such a great part of our wedding. They made it so easy and were extremely accommodating to changes. They did a magnificent job with our stained glass cake! It was a huge hit! And we had several guests tell us it was the best cake they've ever had. We couldn't be happier with our choice!

We ordered wedding cupcakes for our small wedding instead of a cake, and they were wonderful! I emailed a picture of what I would like the cupcakes to look like and they came out looking exactly like it. All of our guests comments on how pretty they looked, and they tasted delicious! I am so glad we ordered extras because I had guests asking to take additional home for their children!

The best wedding cake I have ever tasted!! My husband and I tried many in the wedding planning process and Butterfly Bakery tops the cake. They not only made the most beautiful cake but guests are still talking about how delicious it was. Their professionalism and service were above and beyond. From the start, Butterfly was easy to work with and continued to be accommodating with several changes we had. The a-la-carte cake was a great value and not to mention DELICIOUS - even all the guests commented on how amazing it was! Thanks for a great wedding dessert :)

Butterfly Bakeshop was such a find; it was very overwhelming finding a bakery in NYC that would do a relatively small wedding cake (35 guests) for a reasonable price. Many places flat out told me that it was not worth the effort to make a cake so small. Butterfly though was as accommodating as could be -- especially helpful since I don't live in NYC but was getting married there. Our tasting was incredible (and free! a rarity); their unique flavor combinations cannot be found anywhere else. We wound up going with a simple Swiss dot with twisted rope design, and the cake was so pretty! We had a lemon cake with honey-ginger buttercream filling -- perfect for summer. Everyone was RAVING about how delicious the cake was. And lastly, Butterfly was significantly cheaper than any other bakery - in fact, the final product, including delivery, was close to $200 cheaper than any other bakery I could find. An absolute gem of a business!

I looked at many bakery's within the New York area, either too expensive, not flexible in regards to size, sheet cake, delivery time, flavors etc. Butterfly Bakeshop allowed me to taste a number of different flavors in the comfort of my own home, worked with me on finding the best combination in regards to cake size/sheet cake to cater to my 100 person wedding and were extremely professional at communicating immediately. The cake turned out exactly as I had asked for and the staff were amazing every step of the way. If you are looking for a reasonably priced cake and impeccable service I would highly recommend using them for your wedding or event.
