We really enjoyed working with Craig at our wedding. We incorporated both a band and a DJ, and Craig was incredibly accommodating toward the band, including by providing some equipment for them and coordinating on stage placement and timing. He respected our preferences and requests and kept guests dancing deep into the night. We also appreciated his very professional setup, attire, and overall vibe. Very good value overall too. Highly recommended! -

We simply cannot recommend DJ Shawn enough. He was so much fun to work with and honestly did such a great job working with the rest of our vendor team to help our wedding day go smoothly. He had so much great advice leading up to and during the wedding day, and was just incredibly helpful. Our guests loved him just as much as we did! The music was awesome and the dance floor was packed all night. Hiring Bugsie Productions was definitely one of the best decisions we made for wedding planning! -

TLDR: Book Shawn, you wont regret it!!!
Our wedding was scheduled for May 31st and our coordinator refered us to Shawn because she worked very close with him before. She gave high remarks and we wanted to connect with him ASAP during the holiday season of '24 to get a vibe check and lock in if possible (we were a bit worried he'd be booked). We reached out to Bugsie Productions and although Shawn was taking a week off for a trip, we were able to get ahold of him and have an initial chat! We were so greatful he took time to go over our questions and get to know us when he had so we got to relax for our holidays knowing we were going to be cared for in the future. The added benefits were that we got along well, had common interest on personal levels, and he already knew our coordinator and venue, so since we felt the pricing was reasonable, we booked him and are SO happy we did!
Gearing up for our wedding we were able to email, text, and call several times with Shawn and go over our game plan. Bugsie Productions had a wedding plan we could have filled out for them to get a feeling for our taste and style of music for the wedding, but we opted to pick out a lot of our own music instead. We were afraid we took a lot of control away from Shawn by preselecting our music for practically the whole event, but he mixed everything so well! We had tons of compliments about how everything blended. During dancing hour he got to show us a bit of how he would beatmatch from song to song, and all the interworkings behind the scenes. He even let our Bride DJ a song!
On the day of, we had a bit of rain, but it didnt cause any issues with our outdoor ceremony; Shawn had us covered and on time without delay! We did a livestream of our ceremony with a third party and Shawn was able to work seamlessly along with them! Everything went flawlessly!
As an MC, he was very clear and held a confident and comfortable poise and demeanor. There were a ton of kids at the wedding and he worked great with them all during the games. During dancing, he read the room and noticed the mood was a bit different from our playlist selections (too slow) and kept the party going with some trusted songs everyone enjoyed (energized). And when we had a request that didnt work well, he was quick to pivot and nobody noticed!
Shawns a great and genuine person. We were so happy he was able to DJ our wedding and if we had any future events we'd be sure to book him again. -

DJ Shawn has been amazing to work with. We essentially gave him a small list of tracks that we would like to hear at our wedding and trusted him to fill out the rest of the list. He did an amazing job throughout our wedding.
He was flexible to playing tracks we specifically requested for and searching for/learning about other music that fits the vibe. He was also flexible to last minute changes. Most importantly, he kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night! We would work with DJ Shawn again in a heartbeat.

We can't say enough great things about DJ Craig from Bugsie Productions! He was the DJ and emcee for our wedding and reception, and he absolutely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we met him at the Snohomish Wedding Guild Tour, Craig was professional, approachable, and took the time to understand exactly what we wanted for our big day. He kept the energy high, and played the perfect mix of music. He seamlessly transitioned between the various parts of our celebration. His emcee skills were spot-on—he kept things moving smoothly without being overbearing, and his positive energy was contagious. We received so many compliments from our guests about the music and the overall vibe of the event. We cannot recommend Shawn enough as a DJ. Our wedding was amazing, and Shawn was absolutely instrumental to that. He kept the dance floor going strong throughout the night and was a fantastic MC as well. My (now) husband and I are huge EDM fans, and we really connected with Shawn over this. Shawn put together a special EDM set-list for us for a portion of the night and we absolutely loved it. Our guests did too! We got so many questions about him throughout the night and people were so excited to be on the dance floor and dance the night away. Shawn was really great throughout the planning process and we could really tell that he really cared about our music choices and how to curate the most ideal set-list for us and our friends and family. -

Shawn Hodson at Bugsie Productions is an amazing DJ. When we were looking for DJ companies at a wedding expo in Seattle, we immediately liked the staff at Bugsie. They are professional, experienced, and provide full service audio, lighting, emcee, and DJ services. Shawn met wand worked with us before the wedding to ensure our ceremony and reception went smoothly. We told him the most important thing about our reception is that we wanted our guests to dance. He delivered! He chose songs that had everyone on their feet dancing while honoring our do not play list. We highly recommend Bugsie. -

We booked the Diamond package with Bugsie productions for our wedding, and we were thrilled with the outcome. We were originally working with DJ Shawn for most of the process, but sadly he got COVID at the last minute. Fortunately, DJ Craig filled in and did an incredible job. He nailed all of our ceremony music, including quite a few unique song requests. When we had no clue what to play for dinner music, they filled in all the gaps beautifully. They even helped us round out our wedding reception with karaoke at the end! Bugsie productions gives you the perfect balance of accommodating all of your special requests to make your day exactly how you picture it, and bringing their skill and experience to fill in all of the parts you don't want to think about. -

There is a reason Bugsie Productions has 5 stars reviews across the board on every website. I have never advocated for a business as much as I am about to with these guys. From start to finish, every interaction with them was flawless. My husband and I knew right from the beginning that our DJ was going to be one of the most important decisions we would make for the wedding. Music has been one of our biggest mutual passions since we met 4 years ago, specifically our love for EDM. Unfortunately, most of our family has had very little exposure to that kind of music, so we knew it was going to be tricky finding someone who could balance our favorite genre with the classics. We knew IMMEDIATELY that Shawn was the best DJ we could ever ask for. It was clear right from the start that he had not only the skill and experience we were looking for, but also a passion for music that rivaled ours. He was able to assure us that our wedding would have the best mix of music that would get both us and the crowd dancing all night long, and we had so much fun planning out the details with him. He even helped us lock in the perfect music for the ceremony to showcase some of our nerdiness (music from Jurassic Park, Lord of The Rings, and How to Train Your Dragon).
All of that was just the beginning of our amazing experience with Bugsie. The day of the wedding finally came and of course the 100° sunny weather we’d had for months prior turned on a dime into the strongest rain and wind we had seen in years. We had planned for most of the wedding to take place in the outside portion of the venue (ceremony, dinner, and dancing) so the staff had set up tents over the dining tables and DJ station in preparation for the storm. Luckily, we made it through the ceremony before the storm hit, but halfway through dinner we knew that we were going to have to change plans quickly. So, amid hurricane strength winds and pouring rain, Shawn and his assistant Isaac packed all their gear and moved it inside the venue so we could continue on with our night. They were incredibly quick and efficient, and before we knew it they had us right back on schedule for the rest of the nights events.
It is clear that Shawn has been doing this for many years. He was not only and expert behind the sound board, but also kept the crowd laughing all night long with his charming and witty banter. There wasn’t a single dull moment with him as our MC. Dinner trivia and the shoe game were a huge hit, and Shawn and Isaac had everyone dancing and partying until the moment my husband and I were sent off. They were adaptable, professional, and an absolute delight to spend time with. At the end of the day, we had received more compliments on our choice of DJ than any other aspect of our wedding.
Thank you so much to the owner of Bugsie Productions, Craig, and to Shawn and Isaac for sharing that special night with us. You are all unrivaled in what you do and made our evening completely unforgettable. If you live in Washington, I promise you there are no better DJs available than these guys here. -

We went with Bugsie Productions for our wedding DJ/ MC. We got DJ Craig and he was amazing to work with!!! He met with us a couple times prior (very flexible through zoom meetings), brought up different creative ways to make our wedding more unique, and was very professional. The wedding day went smoothly and he set up two sound systems for us (one in a barn and one in the event space). We had up-lights included in our package which were a lot of fun when it came to dancing and lighting up the space with color. Overall would definitely recommend!!! -

We started talking with Shawn in the summer of 2019. We instantly had a connection when we met him in person! Then the pandemic happened! Fast forward to last Saturday, July 24th. Not only was Shawn an excellent DJ, he went above & beyond to meet our expectations. He was our Wedding Planner helping with timeline, announcements, seating and gave us a ride back to our Airbnb! Everybody had a great time dancing and enjoying each other. Shawn loves what he does, and we can tell. If we are ever looking for a DJ, Shawn is our guy!! -

DJ Yoshi did a fantastic job of planning out everything with us according to his experience and what we wanted to make our wedding day uniquely our own. He was patient in listening to all our desires and on the wedding day he was fabulous at getting the party started (and continuing it) while making it more about us than about a show he was putting on. We went with the package that included a sound system for the ceremony as well, and it took so much stress off of us to not have to worry about that part as well. We got married outdoors, so the logistics of the sound system could have been tricky, but they handled everything so well. My husband is in the audio/visual industry, but as we were getting married out of state, we needed someone else to handle it for us. Even my husband, who could have been picky about the set up, was very pleased! We are SO HAPPY to have had DJ Yoshi as a part of our wedding day! -

Shawn was easily the best vendor hire of our wedding! Throughout the entire process he communicated what he needed, and what we needed to work on, and when we had absolutely no idea how to articulate what we wanted, he still got it.
I have heard 10 times over how awesome our DJ was, and what an awesome party he threw! I actually had guests taking pictures with him because he is literally just the coolest dude and you instantly feel like he’s your bestie. There was never a dull song, or a lull in the flow of the evening. He helped us along with our timeline - as our DOC didn’t have the best handle on things - and kept us on track to make sure we got to do all the things we wanted to!
It was so amazing to show up on the day of our wedding and KNOW that Shawn had it handled, and if something came up, I knew he would take care of it.
I could not be happier about having Shawn as my DJ, and if you’re looking for your wedding/event DJ look no further - make the leap and hire Bugsie! -

I could not have asked for a better DJ than Shawn. I'm an extremely disorganized person and Shawn helped me throughout the entire process. I was lost when it came to picking out songs, flow of the night, schedule, and any other details! Shawn was patient and kind and helped me every step of the way, He wants to personalize the DJ experience for his bride and groom, and make it meaningful throughout the entire night. He does not have a one all fits all approach and is very clear on this. He wants to make sure each wedding he does is different, and fits to the bride and groom. He also makes suggestions, which I was so appreciative of.
The day of, I didn't have to worry about a THING. Shawn was there and went above and beyond when it came to setting up, asking the right questions to my coordinators, and thinking of things before they even came up. He made my day so special, and I didn't have to stress and worry. He takes pride in his work and wants to make sure that the couple is worry free and having the time of their lives.
My guests also loved Shawn. He was funny, kept things exciting, and most importantly played music that everyone liked. I was getting compliments from every age and a lot of older folks came up to me and said "he even played songs I liked!" Everyone at my wedding had a blast and that all goes to Shawn. If you hire him, hes not just a DJ...hes the heart of the party and I can guarantee you that you will not be disappointed and your wedding will not be dry and awkward. If i could rate him 6 stars, I would because he went far beyond expectations of a DJ.

We booked with Bugsy Productions for our December 2018 wedding and we were blown away by the professionalism, prompt replies, and artistic creativity! From reaching out to book them to the very last song we felt like we struck gold with this company and especially with their Principal DJ, DJ Shawn! We met with Shawn at a coffee shop to go over what we were thinking about for music on our special day. We enjoy all genres of music (mostly) and really wanted Shawn's input on what he thought might add a nice touch to the evening. We gave him a couple ideas of what we like and let him do the rest. He knocked it out of the part with his creativity and friendliness! We had SO many people tell us how amazing the song selections were and the whole vibe of the evening and to his credit that was all DJ Shawn! The Single Best Decision in Wedding Planning!
STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND HIRE BUGSIE PRODUCTIONS!!!!
My husband and I have a pretty specific music tastes, and knew that we placed the music selection above mostly everything else (yes, even the cake!) at our wedding. When I say that we are selective, I truly mean it: we like obscure electronic music! Many of our friends had offered to DJ for us, however our venue had a specific list of preferred vendors we were required to choose from so we were a little lost on where to begin. We contacted all of the DJs and quickly realized that Bugsie Prod. was the most superior option. We expressed our need to make sure that our DJ would be able to seamlessly blend electronic (house, techno, trance, etc) with tried-and-true favorites (Prince, Michael Jackson, etc) for our guests to enjoy, and Craig, the owner of Bugsie was super accommodating to us about this concern. He recommended Shawn, and I am SO GLAD he did. Not only is Shawn a fantastic live performer, but he has a great attitude.
We met with Shawn a few months before our wedding and discussed all of our favorite music and our vision for the wedding. We also discussed the timing of songs, and he gave us some great suggestions for our reception timing/releasing our tables for dinner. He sent us some preferred music forms for us to fill out, and we completed them about 3 months before our big day. Shawn was incredibly professional and easy to work with, and on top of that I consider him a friend now. He made the process so easy for us, and while so many people leave their music "up to chance" for their wedding except a few songs, Shawn truly embraced our preferences and learned how to mix everything for us to create a seamless experience. I will always, ALWAYS recommend Shawn and Bugsie Productions for wedding music! Thank you again for making everything perfect for us! -

Craig and his colleagues are professional and knowledgeable and truly made all of the musical decisions that we made super easy! Craig was always available to help guide us as we made decisions and provided recommendations when we needed them. We also used the photo booth and uplighting that Bugsie offered. The lighting was perfect and our guests absolutely loved the photo booth! Craig helped us customize the printouts to match the feel of the wedding! All in all, we are so happy to have worked with Craig and his team and would highly recommend them!

Peggy Sent on 08/14/2018My husband and I love music and dancing. We knew early on that music would be a key portion of our wedding reception. Bugsie Production was recommended by my venue's wedding coordinator. Upon meeting with Craig, my husband and I knew he would be our DJ. Craig was very friendly, easy to talk to. He wants to know the music and songs we like. My husband and I like very different types of music. I like pop and classical music. He likes blues and jazz music. Despite the different genre, Craig was able to accommodate our request. We also rented a few lights to add some depth to the ballroom. As the DJ, Craig may all the announcement during the reception. He might joke with the guests and made them laugh. He dressed professionally and was never a distraction to our wedding party. The night went by too fast. We were dancing our way and before we knew, it was the last dance. My husband and I only wish the party would go on. We had a beautiful memory of our wedding night, the first dance, tossing the bouquet and the garter, dancing with the family and friends. The romantic music and lighting of a night in the spring when we wedded. Craig made it even more memorable for us with his music and his talent. I would definitely recommend Bugsie Production to anyone looking for a DJ for their event.

Diane Sent on 04/21/2018We couldn't have been happier with our DJ, Shawn. We met him at the Seattle Wedding Expo. His personality was exactly what we were looking for, and we hired him on the spot. He stayed in touch with us through all the planning, and went out of his way to meet with us twice to discuss the music, review the wedding program, and getting to know us in general. We were very impressed with his dedication to ensuring that our wedding was everything we'd dreamed of.
Shawn listened to everything we said, took the time to envision what we wanted, and make sure he completely understood what we had in mind for the entire day – not just the ceremony & reception.
On our big day, he showed up at exactly the time he was expected, and set up his equipment quickly. He promptly took ownership of his role in the day, making sure we didn't have to worry about his part in it.
We didn't have a “day of” planner, and in the end, we didn't need one, thanks to Shawn and all the time he spent with us planning and preparing. With the exception of specific songs for the ceremony and a few “must haves” during the reception, we let Shawn decide on the music of our big day, and he delivered in a way that exceeded our hopes.
Shawn's MC skills are amazing. His sense of humor and ability to read the crowd really showed during the entire day. He made announcements for us, gathered people when we needed, helped at dinner to lessen lines at the buffet, and more! All of our guests loved him, telling us things like “best wedding I've ever been to”, and “you guys really know how to throw a party” and we credit Shawn for the majority of that feedback.
We highly recommend Shawn for any event, whether it be a wedding or a corporate function, and anything in between. His enthusiasm meshes well with his professionalism, and we couldn't have asked for a better DJ/MC for our wedding. Thanks, Shawn, you really made the day perfect for us! -

Carla Sent on 08/04/2015We hired Yoshi with Bugsy Productions to DJ our wedding. We had many interactions with Craig (owner) and Yoshi (DJ). Both were very organized, professional and prompt with communication. DJ Yoshi exceeded our expectations. I could not predict how my Midwest family would participate in the dancing, but Yoshi packed the dance floor all night long. Our feedback from our guests has been nothing short of praise for the good times had by all. We opted out of some traditional things such as bouquet toss, garter toss, chicken dance, father/daughter/mother groom dances, so "The Shoe Game" was suggested by Yoshi to get the party started. We had never heard of it, nor had any of our guests. People RAVED about it, it was fun to participate in, and a couple guests even asked if they could use it in their upcoming events. Definite highlight! We got a super fun, unique and personal wedding day thanks in part to the great music. We also rented our some lighting, which worked out well in our venue.
Side note: I had a recent remark from a member of the wedding party about how sharp the DJ was dressed!
