Awesome DJ and so easy to work with

We didn't give DJ Rod a ton of guidance on what to play, just a handful of songs we wanted and songs we did not want, but he did an incredible job of catering the music to our crowd and keeping the dance floor lively! It was one "that's my song!" after another. He perfectly read the crowd and played music that kept everyone on their feet—people of all ages—having the time of their lives!

Our best and easiest vendor for our reception

So wedding planning can be a hassle. But DJ Rod made it so easy for us. We gave him a playlist of our fav songs and he totally made it work. We had so much fun. Would highly recommend!

We worked with Rod for our wedding in Akron, and could not recommend him more! He was extremely kind, professional, and best of all easy to work with. He truly understood our goals and vision for our wedding day music. So many guests complimented us on our DJ and music (all of favorites of course). Perfect DJ!

We booked Rod for our March wedding, which was the PERFECT choice. He did such an amazing job and we got so many compliments from our guests. He did such great job with all the music and getting everyone out on the dance floor. Everyone had so much fun! The dance floor was busy the whole time!

Rod was so much fun to work with and very affordable. We wanted to get pictures with everyone, so we did a photo bomb where my husband and I sat on the dance floor and people ran up to take photos during a song. Rod did such a great job of getting people out there and the photos turned out great. It's one of our favorite memories from the wedding! Everything went perfectly, and Rod was a huge part of making that happen.

Fun, responsive & professional

Rod made the planning process so easy. He set the tone for our whole wedding night right from the start. We did not have to worry one bit about the entertainment because he took care of everything. He kept our guests on the dance floor the entire night. Rod listened to our wants and executed them perfectly. We have received so many compliments about our DJ. Our NYE wedding in one word? LIT

We hired DJ Rod from Buckeye Sounds for our wedding - he was amazing. We were very particular about our DJ selection because we wanted to set the tone for the party. DJ Rod was extremely professional and honestly cared for our wedding day. He was a pleasure to work with. We gave him a Spotify list of songs to work from and the vibe and he created the best playlist we could've asked for! DJ Rod even supplied big TVs so that we could watch the ball drop in Times Square. And our guests could send pictures to the screens too!

Even the booking and planning was easy. We got a online quote and there was ZERO pressure to book or to add extra stuff. All the planning was online too.

The best 2010's music wedding reception!

DJ Rod is hands down the best wedding DJ you will ever find! We wanted a lot of great songs from the 2010s. He played banger after banger and we didn’t want to leave the dance floor! We received so many comments from our guests that they've never danced so much at a wedding before.

a big downtown wedding

We had a large reception with people who really like to dance and party! We told Rod that we needed to have a big celebration and he really did everything we asked of him and more. IMHO the reception's success is based on the dancing - and our reception was just what we had hoped for.

We had DJ Rod and are still smiling from our incredible reception he helped us create. From our first zoom meeting to the very end we felt like we were in such great hands. Rod was laid back and easy to work with, but still took the time to hear what we wanted. It was unbelievable service and an unforgettable night. We would hire Rod from Buckeye Sounds again in a heartbeat. The dancefloor was packed all night. There was no other vendor more creative or as easy to work with.

We found him on google and saw their great reviews on Wedding Wire. With one zoom talk, DJ Rod understood our vision for the reception and the role we wanted him to play. A great party

He did an awesome job! Everything worked properly. All songs were played correctly and in the right order. He listened to all our requests with music. We made certain songs allowed from a playlist and didn’t want people to request music. The video screens were beautiful! We loved seeing our pictures while we had our first dance. The guests absolutely loved the photo booth. They also loved how you could text pics onto the screen. So people kept sending old pics of us when we were young and in college. So fun! Overall an incredible vendor.

Outdoor ceremony and reception

A great reception

DJ Rod is the best.

My brother & sis-in-law used him at their wedding a few years ago. We had so much fun at their reception, we booked him the day of our zoom meeting. Rod listened to every opinion that we had and gave us some good ideas when we needed help. He was so FUN and so professional! We had the awesome wedding experience!

We loved using Buckeye Sounds for our December 2021 wedding! Leading up to the wedding, they were incredible and flexible as our plans changed often during Covid. For the wedding, we had Rod as our DJ and he was perfect. Great mix of music, great personality, and kept the wedding flowing perfectly. We couldn't have asked for better DJ. It took a huge weight off our shoulders to just fully hand this over to him and not worry about flow/timing. Would recommend to anyone getting married in the Columbus area.

Great experience!

We used Buckeye Sounds Entertainment for our January wedding and things could not have run smoother! Rod listened to our music selections and worked with our venue to create a plan for the reception. Could not have picked a better DJ for our wedding day

Rod had ALL of our wedding guests (both younger & older adults) dancing all night long! We received so many compliments on how amazing our DJ was and I could not agree more.

Our favorite part of the wedding was the “live Instagram” as people posted pictures with our wedding hashtag and he displayed them on the video screens. We also had a slideshow of photos of myself and my husband when we first started dating. Everyone loved it and it was a nice personal touch.

Its easy to get confused with all the different companies and reviews, but they are really good at making your reception fun.

Danced till they almost kicked us out

Our wedding was 10/19/2019 & the best part about our reception was Buckeye Sounds! They really made our night & if i could give him 10 stars I would, I promise if you hire Rod as your dj there will be not a single regret.

But even before our reception we liked how Rod and Buckeye Sounds handled our wedding.

So its so great to find a DJ that gets how busy you can be - especially when planning a wedding. It seemed that every DJ ( and most wedding vendors) wanted to have you come in and meet with them. Who has time to do that when you're looking at so many different vendors? It just comes off as pushy and desperate.

But Rod made it easy for us. He made us a nice online customized proposal right at the start. Then we were able to have a video meeting to do our planning. It was modern and convenient.

Make your planning easier AND have a great reception.

So if you are a busy bride like I am (was) you will really appreciate a vendor that will work with you to make things easy for you.

When you contact wedding vendors they email you back saying that you need to call you or set up a meeting with them. We found Buckeye Sounds on our preferred vendor list and all we did was give them our date, venue, times, and some of our thoughts. They got back to us with a really nice proposal that had all the pricing on it. Upfront and simple. And there was even a link to book the event. No meeting or phone call needed.

We did a quick video chat two weeks before our wedding to work out the details and Rod was great is making quick suggestions that really helped us out.

Our reception was incredible. These guys are pros at what they do . I can't suggest them enough for someone wanting a great reception.

I wouldn't change a moment of my wedding!

I'm going to rave, a lot. I'm ecstatic. My wedding was perfect. I'm a super nervous person and a worrier (Bridezilla?) but I shouldn't have worried about Rod & Buckeye Sounds. They were super calm and went out of their way for us. Save yourself worry and a headache and book this company. I wouldn't change a moment of my wedding. My guests had a blast and so did we. The best decision we made for our reception

So my husband and I were thinking that dancing would not be a big part of our reception. Because of that we didn't think the entertainment was too important. We ALMOST just plugged in our phones into some speakers to save the money.

On a fluke we looked at a few DJs and I am so glad we came across Rod & Buckeye Sounds. He met him, and he wasn't pushy at all. He didn't try to talk us into having some big Jersey Shore fist pumping reception like some others did. He listened to our thoughts, and seemed excited about our reception. He just made us feel comfortable, so we hired him.

At our reception things went exactly as we had planned except for one thing. We had people dancing. More than we thought we would. In fact that last 90 minutes we had a great time.

Some of my best memories of our day (outside of my ceremony of course) will be having a great time with my family and friends on the dance floor. We got some great pictures and videos.

Our reception was better than we thought it would be.

A great dance reception!

Rod created an amazing dance party at my wedding that went all evening and left the guest not wanting to leave (my husband even wanted to pay him to stay for another hour). He felt out the crowd well and made quick changes to song choices as he observed what got people dancing. He also took request from guests. He was very professional while still accommodating on our special day. We really enjoyed having him as our DJ. Thank you Rod!!

I did tons of research and kept coming back to Buckeye Sounds, and I am so grateful that I did because Rod was by far the best wedding DJ we could have ever asked for. Everyone was out on the dance floor during the ENTIRE reception. No one (including us) wanted to stop dancing. It was an absolute blast!

After doing LOTS of research and reading reviews, I was confident in my choice with Buckeye Sounds. I’m a Bride who also tends to micro -manage every situation. Rod made the entire process so smooth. Every detail I included (and those that I changed at the last minute), and there were a lot, was executed perfectly and flawlessly. I could not more highly recommend Rod. He had the ability to get my guests on the dance floor without being a chessey / overbearing DJ.

Rod was absolutely amazing! While planning our wedding he was great to communicate with - we set up a video chat meeting and got to know him and talked through our entire vision for our big day! We had a large reception with a variety of ages and Rod was able to play a wide variety of songs that kept everyone on the dance floor!

The most important thing for us and our wedding was to make sure everyone had fun. Rod and his team at Buckeye Sounds definitely helped make that happen! Rod was very responsive to my endless list of questions and concerns. We were able to meet with him once before the wedding. I also exchanged several emails and phone calls with him leading up to the wedding. Rod had every detail and technicality covered. I had a very specific playlist that I wanted and several songs that I definitely did NOT want to hear at my reception. Rod made sure that all my playlist songs were played! I received so many compliments on how fun our wedding was. Several people went as far as to say it was the best/most-fun wedding they had ever been to! I owe a lot of that credit to Rod and his team! I would definitely recommend Buckeye Sounds and would even book them again if I could!

When my (now) husband and I started planning our wedding, we knew that there were 3 key elements to throwing an incredible party: food, booze, and music. We also wanted a mix of EDM, 90s hip-hop/R&B, top 40s, oldies, and Sinatra for a range of generations among our guests. So we weren't playing around when it came to finding a DJ for our big day!

We’ve seen tons of DJs at weddings in the Columbus area and other areas, and Buckeye Sounds is in a league of its own. Make sure to book well in advance, given their how popular they are!

Rod and his team did an amazing job for us. We had a beautiful ceremony, followed by a classy and elegant cocktail hour / dinner, and finally a lively dance party at the Hilton. Everything was seamless and when it was time to dance and party the whole crowd was up it was like a dancing lightswitch went off (even the older / shy relatives I didn't expect to dance were dancing). He also did a really good job of taking requests while filling out the party with creative choices that kept the party going. In every category he met and exceeded our best expectations.

So I did lots of research before booking Buckeye Sounds and it was the best decision I made through the planning process! They made sure that our wedding was not like any other wedding - from the lighting to the music to the actual event. The dance floor was packed from the minute he began playing music until the last song! I would highly recommend him to anyone getting married, I promise you will not regret your decision!

I don't think 5 stars does much justice to show how amazing Rod is. Rod deejayed our wedding reception and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. Rod was very professional, very responsive and a joy to work with. He gave great tips and helped me think and plan my wedding day through for every single moment and detail that I wanted music to. He was very informative and very engaging during the reception re: the various events and the guests really appreciated and loved it that they knew what was going on and where. GREAT to work with and was one of my favorite vendors to work with. Most importantly he had the entire wedding on the dance floor the whole night! Which was exactly what we requested - and I can assure you he goes out of his way to really understand what "type" of wedding you would like to have.

All in all I cannot say enough great things about this business! They went above and beyond my expectations! It was a very last minute wedding so everything was planned in two months. Rod took the time out of his busy schedule, answered all of my phone calls and every email without hesitation! The reception they put on was absolutely a blast! Between the very entertaining Photo Booth, the great music, and the wonderful lighting, it was better than we ever thought possible! As a bride to be we worry about our guests enjoying the reception so much. We worry weather or not they will like the feel, the music, get up and dance or feel entertained. I can promise you that ours had a great time and they are still talking about it weeks later! To top it off, their website to organize your playlist is very user friendly and you are able to do it from your smart phone without a problem! This made the the stress from the wedding a lot easier to handle being as though we live on the road for our carrier! He played every song we asked and then worked with what we liked and incorporated some that were similar! They were so good with working with the guests by playing great requests, and entertaining everyone with their fun photo booth! They really work with the flow of the event and keeps the energy going at the rate it needs to be! I cannot say enough good things about Buckeye Sounds! We live in California so we were not able to meet with Buckeye Sounds before our reception. You can only imagine how stressful that is - to put blind faith into someone to run your reception and to understand our vision. So we had to do everything over email and a few phone calls. Rod (the DJ) and Renee (photo booth) treated us like family and you can see that they love what they do! The dance floor was full and our guests really enjoyed the photo booth! They ended up being the best decision we made for our reception! I had never meet them before and id didn't even matter it was like we had known them for years.

We had to plan our wedding very quickly So when it came to the details we were kind of all over the place. We didn't give Rod too much to work with but he made is so easy for us. I'm a total music lover so the song choices were very important to me, and Rod nailed it. I told him that my #1 priority was to play whatever kept the crowd dancing, and that what he did, but also worked in all my favorite songs.

BuckeyeSounds was the best DJ/MC we could have asked for. They were incredibly organized and made our reception unique. Our friends are still talking about how much fun they had. Definitely recommend the LOVE letters and dancing in the cloud! They have a variety of fun photobooths to choose from as well. Finding a good wedding dj can be difficult. Finding a DJ who wants to make your reception as much fun as you do is even harder. And Buckeye Sounds completely worked with us to make our reception the best we've ever been to. We've been to many receptions were there are large amounts of time with nothing happening and no one dancing. We had to avoid that, and we are still getting comments on how great our reception was!

We had heard about them from our venue and we were so glad that we did. There is a reason they keep referring them to so many of their brides.

They were a bit more expensive then some of the other DJs that we looked at, but it was completely worth it at the end of the night. In the end they had totally met (and exceeded) our vision for our day. What more can you ask for?

Rod is fantastic. We have eclectic taste in music and he was really helpful in reigning in our ideas and providing suggestions to improve the flow. My wife and I were given a lot of advice on how to pick a DJ and we met with quite a few, but none of them really seemed to connect with us like Rod did. The DJ may be the most important aspect of your reception. He controls the entire flow of the night and determines whether guests at your wedding have fun or not. I have been to a lot of weddings and seen lot of DJ's and Rod is by far the best. It was a cause of anxiety for my wife and I that people wouldn't dance at the wedding and leave early and that was the opposite of reality. Rod moved about the reception with a sense of urgency that I have never seen from a DJ. Rod seamlessly made the reception flow perfectly and kept people on the dance floor until they turned the lights on and had to kick us out. Rod's talents are not just limited to the reception. His advice and scheduling of the reception are truly priceless. There is a lot of overwhelming planning when it comes to a wedding and my wife and I knew that by choosing Buckeye Sounds the reception was one part that we didn't have to worry about. We used his uplight and bubble package and they are both WELL worth it! It is hard to make the Westin ballroom more beautiful than it already is but Rod did just that with his lighting. Don't think twice about any other DJ and don't skimp. Our reception would not have been the same if it were not for Buckeye Sounds. Thank you Rod!

If you want your wedding to be great and worry free then you have to hire Buckeye Sounds!

You will find that they’re fun professionals who take their job of your entertainment very seriously. Everything we wanted coordinated worked out just as we wanted. They are an experienced DJ who provides you great advice in planning but doesn't pressure you into anything.

And most importantly, they provided the sound system, microphones, and music for our ceremony itself. We put a LOT of thought into our ceremony, and it was a relief to know that we wouldn't have to worry one bit about the audio. All our guests were able to hear our vows which was very important to us.

We had kind of a hard time finding a DJ for our wedding. We were planning way ahead of time but we knew a good DJ was worth finding, someone who did it casually was not what we were looking for. We contacted Rod and went and met him at his office in Gahanna where he showed us all of his equipment, showed us reviews from other weddings and some videos of weddings he had done. It was very professional. He then asked what we were looking for with our wedding and nailed down some particulars. The next day we got an email with a few quotes. There was never any question that we were going with him.

The day of our wedding Rod was great, our guests have commented how friendly he was and how smoothly everything ran, thanks in large part to Rod. We also opted to use the monitors to display some pictures during cocktail hour and some of the dances and our guests loved that as well. Highly recommended.

Rod is truly the best. One of our family members pointed out that the music seemed to appeal to everyone from our six year old nephew to our 73 year old aunt. We were really ill-prepared for all of our meetings with Rod (who knew we needed to decide on so many songs?!) and he was patient and helpful. From my weird indie tastes to my husband's (slightly inebriated) request for "family friendly Drake," Rod managed to satisfy all. I would definitely use Buckeye Sounds for future celebrations!

Buckeye Sounds was the best company from start to finish that I worked with my wedding! Unlike most DJs (and other vendors) they took some time to get to know us and what we were wanting. When we met with them they explained to us how the flow of the evening, our music selections, and of course the entertainment could be made just a little bit better to create the fun reception that we really wanted.

During the very last song of the night, I looked around and saw a packed dance floor with tons of smiling faces. At that moment, I got emotional and felt all the crazy planning was worth it. The people I love most in the world were having a ton of fun, and didn’t want the night to end. I almost wish I could do it again!

One last tip for future brides reading this. We almost didn’t get décor lighting, and I’m so glad that we did. On the day of the wedding, I could not believe how they had transformed the venue space... it literally took my breath away. It made a beautiful, yet standard hotel ballroom our very own unique space.

When we started planning our wedding we had three concerns the food, the bar and the DJ. We knew if those three things came together it would be an awesome celebration.

When we were looking for a DJ for our wedding we decided to interview a lot of different companies because it is such a crucial part of the wedding. We met with 7 or 8 different DJ’s and although some were good, we went with Buckeye Sounds because of their expertise and great reviews. A DJ can make or break an event and the Buckeye Sounds team made it, from the lighting to the music, they read the crowd and kept everyone engaged and on the dance floor!

Because both of our families (and friends) love to dance, we knew that our entertainment would be the main focus of our wedding. So when we started looking for a fun DJ to be part of our day it was important to find someone that we knew we could trust. We met with a few DJs, and immediately after walking out of our first meeting with Rod, we knew he was the best DJ for us. His friendly and open personality combined with his clear professionalism and experience completely sold us. He gave us some great ideas at his place but wasn't pushy at all like some others had been.

But the best part was the actual reception. It was just what we wanted. The dancing never stopped and they even played 2 encore songs after the wedding was supposed to be over because our guests were having such a good time they just couldn't leave the dance floor yet.

We loved the video screens and how it made the reception even better. Our guests loved seeing pictures from the photo booth and Instagram pictures on the screens! My friends were almost trying to do crazy pictures just so those pictures would be put on the screen.

Its hard to put in a few sentences how important Rod was in making our wedding day fun and how appreciative we are of it.

They made it work!
They did an amazing job. The DJ came to my venue walk through and even considered how the acoustics would be affected in our large space. He found a way for them to not get lost and I didn't have to worry about it at all because he had it covered. They have really great suggestions for wedding songs, party entrance, first dance, etc. But also a really neat way that you can search and add music to a list for them that are "must plays" or "play whens". They really cared about doing a good job on the event and even provided a personalized emblem for the middle of the dance floor that we loved. Super friendly, fun, and professional. You wouldn't go wrong booking with them!

I'm not even sure that I remember how I came across Buckeye Sounds, but they had amazing reviews and that's all I really had to base it off of! They were easy to meet with before and always responded quickly! Rod was our DJ and I contacted him with a lot of last-minute changes to my music because I am incredibly indecisive! He didn't make me feel like I was bothering him at all, he welcomed all of my questions and my music changes, very helpful during such a stressful time. During the reception (and afterwards when people were telling us how much fun they had), all I heard was "your DJ was AWESOME!!!" - He really was, everyone was dancing all night long, he did a great job. We really struggled trying to find the right DJ for our reception. We didn't want anything cheesy - we just wanted to have a good time!

Buckeye Sounds was great to work with and so incredibly accommodating our emails, discussions and all of our questions. They not only helped to make the night one that everyone enjoyed, but also put us at ease so the music/timeline was one less thing we had to worry about

The worst thing to happen at a wedding is that no one dances, which was not a problem for us at all! They had everyone up and on the dance floor all night long, which is exactly what i wanted. They played all the songs we wanted to hear, and did an amazing job of reading the crowd and keeping everyone excited.

We had a wonderful time with Rod and Buckeye Sounds! They were a treat to work with in the months leading up to our wedding and during the event itself. That ends up mattering quite a lot, and it was great when everything came together. We were actually recommended to work with Rod through our wedding venue since they had always had such positive experiences with him.
Also Rod provided all the sound system and microphone setup for our ceremony itself. We put a LOT of thought into our ceremony, and it was a relief to know that we wouldn't have to worry one bit about the audio. Everything worked perfectly.
Furthermore, I enjoyed the online planner that Buckeye Sounds uses to have you select your must-play and must-not-play songs. It wasn't the most modern looking, but it brought up song suggestions really well and gave me a number of ways to choose and organize my songs. It helped me organize my thoughts while planning.
All in all, I'd highly recommend Rod and Buckeye Sounds for any wedding.

My brother and sister-in-law used them for their reception in October 2013. They were so great at that reception that we really didn't look at any other DJs when we started our planning. We booked them the first time we met them. We knew what they could do for our reception.

We had some weird music requests and they worked them into the playlist like pros. Jeff was our DJ and did a great job of making our reception not drag. We wanted people dancing the whole night.

They listened to our input before our reception and there wasn't one minute when our dance floor wasn't packed! We had to move some tables away from the dance floor to make more room.

We didn't known where to look for our DJ but they were on the preferred vendors list of 2 of the venues that we considered and the one that we actually booked. Buckeye Sounds is by far the best DJ company in Ohio! We wanted our wedding to not only be a blast for our friends & family but to be unforgettable. We all know wedding dj's can either make or break a wedding, and wow did they MAKE it. We were so glad that we had Dave as our DJ because he accomplished just that. Dave kept the party going from beginning to end and even exceeded our expectations by accommodating a few last minute requests that we needed the day of the wedding. Buckeye Sounds was by far one of the smartest wedding decisions we made!! They are absolutely amazing and professional, I honestly have nothing but great things to say about them! First off our DJ was Rod and the minute we first met him we wanted him to be the one to DJ our wedding. He helped the whole reception flow effortlessly and he got EVERY single one of our guests up and dancing!! We had such a large range of guest's ages but I heard so many compliments about the music. Truly, he made the party happen!! I also trusted his decision on the lighting for the room and when I walked in, I was blown away. It was beautiful! Truly the best service you can get.

Of all the vendors we contracted for our wedding, Buckeye Sounds Entertainment was our favorite. For us, music, lighting, ambiance and overall entertainment was super important and Buckeye Sounds far exceeded our expectations!

We came to their showroom with tons of ideas and pictures. They really worked with us to make our vision become a reality. Our wedding was truly ‘on another level,' due to the effort and the incredible atmosphere and amazing production they created from the DJ to the décor lighting and even to their photobooth! Not only were we super satisfied, but after the wedding, we received tremendous compliments about the music, lighting and entertainment.

If you're thinking about hiring ANY another company I would tell you to hold off until you have an initial with Buckeye Sounds before you sign anything.

Jen and I used Rod as our DJ at our wedding. Not only was he our DJ but he acted more like our wedding coordinator. He had a lot of different ideas when we asked him questions as far as order of events, layout of the room, etc. Jen and I wouldn't change one thing about our wedding and we owe a lot of that to Rod. The uplighting provided a great atmosphere for our guests and his photo booth was a hit.

I would recommend Rod to anyone. His experience led us to having the best experience with him and our wedding wouldn't have been the same without him. Thanks, Rod!

I must have looked at every online DJ review, watched way too many videos and even met several DJ's before finding and hiring Buckeye Sounds. I am so glad that I did because with Buckeye Sounds there wasn't that 'cheesiness factor' vibe I had gotten from other DJ's.

We are VERY passionate music lovers and wanted to be sure we hired someone who would take the time to consider and understand our musical goals for our reception. We were 10000% satisfied with their services! If you want to be taken care of in every way, shape and form, I highly suggest hire Buckeye Sounds for your reception!

Both Scott and I were among the last of our college friends to get married. We had been to so many of our friend's receptions over the last few years. Some of them had been good and some were really boring. Maybe we are a little too competitive, but our reception HAD to be the best one - which it was!

First off let me talk about the lighting decor that they did. They turned our typical hotel ballroom into a thing of beauty for our reception. I almost cried when I first walked into the room. Everyone kept telling us how great our room looked. People even noticed the small details like the lighting on our centerpieces.

We got GREAT pictures because of the decor lighting. Not only during the dancing but all through the night. They created a focal point with our head table so the pictures of the toast and dinner turned out wonderful. Even our cake pictures looked incredible.

And the dance floor was packed the entire night. Our family and friends danced more at our reception than we ever thought possible. Best of all they did a great job of playing songs that everyone wanted to dance to.

Simply put we couldn't have been happier!

We wanted something elegant and classy to start off, but then become a giant dance party. They really listened to what we wanted for our reception, but they gave us such great advice on how to get just that and more. I would have paid them just for their advice on how to make my reception so much fun! Our photographer got some great shots of our guests going crazy on the dance floor in addition to the more traditional shots.

We also wanted more modern music, we didn't want the typical cheesy wedding music. They played everything we wanted and it was perfect. The dance floor was almost too crowded and we had to move some tables back.

Our reception was on Valentine's Day and we had Buckeye Sounds do the room lighting. I was a bit worried that our red and pink Valentine's theme would look tacky in the ballroom. I am happy to say I was wrong because it looked incredible while not in an over the top way.

We could not have been happier.

From the first time we met them until the last song of the night Buckeye Sounds was incredible! They were our favorite vendor to work with.

We had fun just meeting them. They were so informative but not in a pushy or salesyway. They gave us some ideas and listened to our thoughts for our reception.

At our reception they delivered everything they said they would and more. We could not have been more happy with our reception.

Booking Buckeye Sounds was the best decision we made besides actually getting married. We had the best reception ever!

Usually I am quite skeptical. I don't usually believe hype when it comes to things, and I was even more cautious with our reception. So I had my 'guard up' when we came to visit Buckeye Sounds.

We met with them and were expecting a hard sell that we had honestly gotten with some other vendors. But we didn't get that at all from them even though they showed us things that no one else did. My husband was sold...but I still wasn't. I wanted to look at other DJs so we did.

We ended up booking Buckeye Sounds. And despite my initial concern we didn't just book them for DJ. We booked almost everything with them. The photo booth. Light decor. TVs.

We had a really large wedding and they supplied the music for the ceremony and the reception. The ceremony was perfect and the guests could actually here our vows. When it came time for the dancing we had to move tables further away from the dance floor because we had so many people trying to get on the dance floor.

With a fall wedding we had fall colors of a deep orange and deep red. The lighting was exactly what I wanted! We had so many compliments on the way the room looked.

The photobooth was a huge hit too. The video messages our family & friends left us were so funny.

The one thing that really made us interested in them was the TVs. We are glad we did this. We had them show the pictures of my dad and I during our dance and everyone cried, including me. Then during the night we had our photobooth pictures along with other pictures show on the screens.

If you want something really special for your reception they are the only ones I would suggest to anyone!

Every wedding should be as much fun as ours. If you want a packed dance floor for your reception just do what we did. Check out their reviews, check out the website, visit their office, and book them. You won't regret it.

We had a smaller reception so we were in a smaller room, and there was a really large wedding in the bigger ballroom. But we still had some of the other guests crash our reception. (It was only for a song or two and we took a picture with them. It was all in good fun). Our reception was still going strong at midnight because of how much fun our guests were having.

We also had them do the decor lighting in our room which made our ballroom look so much better. We had a winter theme and used a light blue for the effect. It was perfect.

My favorite part of the night was the last song where everyone came out in a circle and danced around us.

Rod and buckeye sounds was the best choice for our wedding! I looked at every DJ in town prior to receiving the recommendation for Rod and buckeye sounds and when I went to meet with him I signed a contract that day. He is exactly what everyone wants to have at their wedding and I had so many people compliment me on the DJ and the music he played. In fact, people couldn't leave the dance floor because the music was so good and catered exactly to the crowd. Rod went above and beyond with our reception. My fiance is an avid UK fan and he wanted a sports themed introduction, when I told Rod this he beyond delivered. He created a video for us to come in to and it was perfect! We added on the tv screens to our package and that was a great addition, I loved having the pictures of my dad and I play during our dance and Rod switched it to music videos during the dancing part which people really loved. We also piloted a trivia game during our reception at the end of dinner and everyone loved it, it was unique and something fun to keep people involved and entertained. Hiring Rod for our wedding was close to the best decision we made about that day and if you go with him you won't be disappointed. I have to see that buckeye sounds was my "splurge" in my budge and I don't regret spending the extra money because it really made our reception exactly what we wanted it to be.

Rod was an awesome DJ for our 6/21/14 wedding. He followed up on every question and concern I had and the day couldn't have gone smoother! The music selection was so much fun and every song requested was played!

Buckeye Sounds, Rod in particular, is an amazing DJ company! I truly cannot say enough great things about them. First, the music was such a great hit and he worked so hard to please my guests. I'm half Iranian and a lot of my guests wanted to hear Persian music after they heard the 2 Iranian songs that I had planned on him playing, so they kept running up to him with Persian music asking him to play songs that he had never heard of. He worked so hard and really made the music a memorable, amazing experience.
Second, the room looked absolutly amazing. Rod and his team set up purple/light purple and blue uplighting and made us a monogram with our names that stayed in the middle of the dance floor. The room looked better than I had imagined, and the placements of the lights were perfect.
Third, Rod and his friend videotaped our wedding. They were with us the entire day, filming everything, from the first time we saw each other to the ceremony and the entire reception. They were so easy to be around and made me feel so special on my wedding day. Buckeye sounds is such an amazing company and they really do care you as a person. I really cannot recommend them enough.

This DJ went above and beyond for us. We wanted unheard of songs, medleys rather than full songs, remixes, spotlighting, and a full on truss system of lights making our dance floor feel like a club! We really searched for the right DJ b/c this was one of the most important elements to our wedding.. and they made a unique package for us and our needs. They truly pulled off every last detail! Guests danced to the very last song. Everyone was a sweaty mess! we loved it! Thank you so much!

I loved that Rod played the music that we chose and at the appropriate times! I received many complements about how "classy" the music was during dinner and cocktail hour, which really appealed to some of our older guests who didn't want to hear todays top hits. It exactly was how we planned/desired! The website he provided where we could chose what we wanted to play and when, made putting together a playlist so simple and I'm sure I can speak for my husbnd, who is also in the music business, we couldn't be happier!

Buckeye Sound....is the best. They listen to what you want. We have used them now at least 4 occassions and like everyone there. We have passed their name on now to many people and I keep getting calls that those that have used them were so appreciative. They are just a fun group to have at any occassion and very good at keeping in contact with you.

STOP BROWSING AND BOOK THIS DJ! Buckeye Sounds was amazing. Rod met our every need and our DJ, Mike, was outstanding. People were raving about him all throughout our reception. Our dance floor was pretty big and it was packed all night. He kept the energy high, and engaged and entertained all our guests. Expectations were definitely exceeded.

My husband and I were unbelievably impressed with Buckeye Sounds. My mother-in-law and I went to a bridal shower earlier in the year -- and after seeing their booth -- I was sold. The individual I talked to was knowledgeable, kind and seemed genuinely interested in what I had to share about my wedding despite the number of people that were gathering around us, he focused in on me and my wedding. They knew to ask questions that I hadn't thought of, but still allowed flexibility from me. They never seemed overwhelmed or annoyed with all the questions and concerns I had (typical bride...), rather they were interested and wanted to make the night perfect...which they did successfully! Working with Rod and his wife was one of the easiest, most painless experiences. I honestly felt like he was excited for Joe and I and it made the night go that much better. His wife was at the photo booth and helped to put together our guest book which was hilarious and well-done.

If there is one thing I recommend, it is to have a good DJ. The way they control the evening leaves the bride/groom able to enjoy the night without a worry in the world. I was a tad concerned about the price at first, but after adding the BEAUTIFUL 'name in lights' (which everyone is still talking about; I didn't realize how amazing they'd look in pictures!), uplighting and the fabulous photo booth...we would have paid twice as much! I couldn't have been more thrilled. EVERYONE is still talking about it. I truly believe we owe a lot of it to Buckeye Sounds!

Rod was awesome from the first meeting we had with him to the day of the wedding. He worked with us and was able to adapt to any change we needed to do. He was very professional and even asked us what attire we wished for him to wear. Price was great and he made the night fun and relaxing.

My wedding was on 5/5/12 and we used Buckeye Sounds for not only our DJ service, but photo booth and uplighting as well. At first we really had no idea where to start when finding a DJ and had no references from friends to go off of as we were the first of our friends to be engaged!

So as most people do, we started our search online. Immediately after coming across Buckeye Sounds website I knew I wanted to meet with them. Their website was far better than others (good first impression) and when we sent in our information we got a very quick response from Rod. He was even willing to meet with us in their show room late at night 7:00 pm because it fit our schedule best when most vendors are not willing to be that flexible.

When we got to the show room and met Rod, we just felt so comfortable with him. He was personable without being over the top and willing to answer any of our questions as well as gave us some suggestions. The best part is they have a show room which sets them apart from so many other DJs because you actually get to see their equipment and how things will look. Even more so, we felt no pressure from him or that we were getting some big sales pitch. We could just tell he loves what he does and he had a lot of experience which made us feel even more confident.

During our initial meeting my husband and I told him we needed more time to think it over. The truth is though, as soon as we walked out of the door we knew we had not only found our DJ, but the exact photo booth we wanted and uplighting for our ballroom. So we sent our deposit in a couple days later!

Before our wedding, Rod was always quick to respond to my emails and my 100s of questions and never made me feel like I was bothering him. He even suggested we meet at our venue so he can show me what our uplighting would look like to make sure it was exactly what I wanted!

Something did come up a couple weeks before our wedding (as things usually do) and honestly, it made not only me and my husband, but my family realize that we made the best choice possible by choosing Rod at Buckeye Sounds. I found that more than anyone else we worked with he handled our wedding in the most professional manner and really treated it like it was his own! Through everything, I found out that he is not only a great DJ, but a wonderful person as well.

As for our wedding, I have to say their photo booth is definitely way better than any other. It is a sleek/compact photo booth (not big bulky with black curtains) and it not only takes pictures but does video messages as well!! Everyone LOVED it. We even got a flash drive at the end of the night with all our pictures and videos too which is so fun to look back on. The uplighting we had really transformed the room and I was so happy we paid extra to have it done! All of our guests kept commenting for weeks after about what a great job they did and by the looks of our dance floor and photo booth pictures, you can tell everyone had fun :)

So bottom line : If you want to work with someone who is professional, responsive, cares about your wedding/event, experienced, loves what they do and an overall great person- I definitely recommend calling Buckeye Sounds and you'll see exactly what I mean :) I really think you get even more than what you pay for with them and knowing you are working with a quality vendor and even better person will put your mind at ease amongst all of the wedding stress!!

Rod at Buckeye Sounds was fantastic to work with! He responded to emails and phone calls quickly (almost always the same day!) and was very open to ideas, suggestions, and last minute changes! He could see our personalities (and those of our guests) and perfectly chose songs--in addition to those we requested--that got everyone up and dancing! Even though he traveled 2 hours for our reception, we were having so much fun dancing at the end of the night that Rod stayed an extra hour so the party didn't have to stop! I would definitely recommend his services for any event! Thank you so much Rod!!
