We got married at Buchanan Hall with our ceremony and reception onsite. From the beginning, we loved this venue - our vision was to have a memorable and meaningful wedding, surrounded by family and friends, at an affordable price. Buchanan Hall is where that vision was solidified and ultimately, carried out. The price for renting the hall cannot be beat and they allow so much flexibility with vendors, which was helpful.
Montana, the point of contact we worked with, is an absolute gem. She gave us plenty of advice and support along the way, along with knowledge of the venue itself. I loved that this venue is a local non-profit and supports a farmers market and other local community events, including a pride celebration.
If you are interested in getting married here - GO VISIT. That will help make the choice for you since you will be able to see all the included amenities, such as getting ready suites. The beautiful mountain view is an added bonus. Thanks again for making our wedding amazing! -

Amazing Venue for our family wedding! Montana the coordinator was amazing Too! Very knowledgeable. Has tons of tips! And was very responsive when I had questions! The venue itself is quiet, but perfectly updated. Had ready rooms for the girls and guys! We loved that we were able to bring in our own vendors! -

We had a great experience using Buchanan Hall for our wedding reception. The venue was perfect for us. Not only is the Hall itself remarkable, with beautiful wooden floors, a large stage and high ceilings, the outdoor garden area was such a nice place to host our cocktail hour.
Montana, the event director was simply amazing. She was always available for communication, provide invaluable insight, and was super accommodating. not to mention, she does it all with a beautiful smile on her face!
In general, the entire process exceeded our expectations & we could not recommend this space enough. If you are looking for a venue for your wedding or another celebratory event in pristine Virginia countryside, historic Buchanan Hall will check all the boxes! -

Before finding Buchanan Hall... we spent several weeks stressing over finding the perfect venue for our wedding. We needed a location that could support both the ceremony and reception, looked nice, had nice scenery for photos, and was a reasonable price. We had a few places in mind but the day we first toured Buchanan Hall... all of those other options went out of the window. The place looked so amazing, Montana was always there to answer questions, and the scenery was beautiful. We had about 122 guests, a dj, bartenders, photographers, videoographers, catering, etc. With all of those guests and vendors, we were still able to fit a nice sized dance floor between the guest tables for everyone to have fun and dance. We also reccomend using the outdoor space for a reception. The scenery is unmatched compared to any ither venue we had considered. I would recommend this place to anyone! -

My husband and I got married here May of 2025. We began our planning in October of 2024 and Montana was so helpful through the whole process. She answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. This venue is absolutely perfect for a wedding reception! The front gardens, beautiful exterior, and spacious ballroom were perfect for our special day! -

Wedding venues in NOVA are insanely high priced, and finding something within our budget was turning into a nightmare for us. Buchanan hall was one of the nicer venues we looked at and Montana was fantastic in helping arrange and coordinate our big day. We also loved that the hall is a non-profit community space.Buchanan Hall's reply:

The Perfect Venue!
We got married at Buchanan Hall in June 2024 and it was everything we dreamed of! The hall is the perfect location for a one-stop venue, with plenty of space for indoor or outdoor festivities during all parts of the day. We had our ceremony and cocktail hour outside in the gardens, then dinner indoors and the reception indoor/outdoor. With 120 guests, there was plenty of space for a sit-down meal and dancing afterwards! Additionally, the hall coordinator Montana is extremely easy to work with and took a personal interest in making sure our day went perfectly. She even showed up for the rehearsal without us having to ask so she could get an idea of what we were looking for and coordinate during the ceremony for us, which took so much of the stress off of me. Her communication is prompt and clear, which made all the difference during planning too. And an added bonus is just how fun she is to work with!
Our catering and day-of coordination was done by the hall’s in-house caterer My Sweet Thyme, who customized a menu for us and went above and beyond for us in every aspect. We are still getting compliments on the food 2 months later, and as the bride, I didn’t have to think about a single thing other than having a good time that day.
Another benefit of hosting at Buchanan Hall was the fact that we could visit the venue during their regular farmers markets to get a feel for the space and plan in person, which is not something you get to do at most venues. As a visual person, this was a huge perk for me especially. We were able to customize our floor plan, the color scheme and florals, and decide where the DJ and Photo Booth should go to maximize our use of the space.
The hall has a handful of vendors whom they work with regularly, including our DJ and florist, and they were just fabulous to work with too. The fact that Montana and her team have a working relationship with so many connections in the wedding industry honestly made the whole planning process so simple.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with our decision to get married at Buchanan Hall, and I think you would be too! -

Words really don’t express how amazing our wedding day was and how beautiful everything was. Buchanan hall made all our wedding day visions come true! The history, outdoor space, get ready rooms, hall, and everything in between was simple perfection. Montana has been amazing this whole process and is more than helpful. We couldn’t think of a better space to hold our big day. -

Lovely and charming venue for our wedding reception!
This beautiful, classic space could not have been more lovely for my daughter’s wedding reception this past New Year’s Eve. The big hall, with its windows and chandeliers, and the stage for the wedding party was perfect and charming. The supporting facilities (kitchen, etc) were great. Montana was so responsive and helpful at every stage of the process and gave us great ideas for table configurations and decorations. We were so happy with our choice! -

My husband and I needed something affordable as we were self paying, we wanted the wedding of our dreams on a shoe string budget. Montana and Buchanan Hall helped our vision come to life. The day was beautiful and Montana was easy to work with. It was a picture perfect day. Gorgeous Venue!
Buchanan Hall was a perfect fit for us as soon as I saw the photos online, then meeting with Jo Ann and seeing it in person, i knew it was truly meant to be. Jo Ann was so quick and helpful with questions or concerns I had. Our photos turned out beautiful with Buchanan hall as our back drop! -
