We hired Bryan for our intimate courthouse wedding in New York City just before Thanksgiving, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience!! From the start, Bryann was incredibly responsive and professional. Despite it being a simple, yet meaningful wedding at the courthouse, we still wanted to ensure the moment was captured beautifully. On the day of our wedding, Bryan came to our apartment and took pictures of us as we were getting ready for the big day. With our three friends in tow, Bryan followed the group through our neighborhood to the subway, to the Clerk’s Office for the ceremony, and then for some pictures at the waterfront. He was able to capture every moment along the way and captured the best NYC wedding pictures one could ask for.
If you’re planning a courthouse wedding (or any wedding) in New York City, I can’t recommend Bryan enough. He is not only incredibly talented but also incredibly kind and dedicated to making sure your special day is captured in the most beautiful way. We will cherish these memories for a lifetime!

Bryan was excellent. I reached out to him less than 5 days ahead of my civil ceremony to see if he would be available. Responded incredibly fast, easy process to contract, was very flexible with styles and shot list. Bryan very much prioritized what we wanted and was professional, timely, and knew so much about how civil ceremonies worked. The photos are amazing. We couldn't be happier. If we could give Bryan a 100 stars, we would. We reached out to Bryan prior to even getting engaged because of his work and we were sure we wanted him to shoot our engagement photos and our wedding. He was incredibly communicative, very easy to reach during the year and a half we worked with him, and truly the friendliest guy and made us feel so comfortable. On our wedding day, we had no worries about if and how every moment would be captured, and when we got our photos back I was floored. Everything from our portraits to our dance floor was absolutely perfect. Something that made us drawn to Bryan's work in the first place is a talent for capturing connection and life in his photos, and looking through our photos it's like being transported right back to the moment. His talent for seeing moments worth capturing is unmatched. We simply cannot sing his praises loud enough. -

Bryan was amazing from start to finish. It was great to 'warm up' and get to know each other during the engagement photos which made us all the more comfortable on our wedding day. To say we are obsessed with the photos is an understatement. Our guests are also in awe as we continue to share them. Bryan's style captured our vision perfectly. Phenomenal Photographer and Great Guy!
I have been a fan of Bryan Sargent for four years, since he shot the early pandemic Central Park elopement of two friends of mine. The way he covered the wedding and so beautifully captured the love and joy of two people in an incredibly trying time was stunning, and I knew when it was my turn he would be the first - and only - call. Bryan has a talent for finding the unexpected moments that make a wedding unique: a quiet moment between flower girl and grandfather; a shared secret between bride and maid of honor; a high five between groom and friend. Shooting a wedding for Bryan is not about checking boxes and taking pictures of what makes them all the same, but instead he finds those elements that make each unique. Reviewing our edit after the wedding, we were struck by how much energy and life he managed to get into every frame. Despite being a solo shooter he is somehow everywhere, never missing a single moment while slipping into the background.
But that’s just his photographic talent; what’s behind the camera is even more special. He’s kind and funny and laid back. We hadn’t thought about doing an engagement shoot but I’m glad we did because Bryan’s approach puts his subjects at ease, making gentle suggestions when you don’t know how to pose and snapping when candid moments occur. My husband and I feel like we’ve made a lifelong friend – something I think he probably makes every couple he works with feel. -

Incredibly professional artist
TLDR: Bryan was just worth EVERY 👏 SINGLE 👏 CENT 👏. If you are looking for expertly captured emotion, editorial/journalistic style, professionalism, reliable + quick turnaround time, and a really really nice and (honestly?) very lovable photographer, Bryan Sargent is The One. // HE IS AN ARTIST: My husband and I are both creatives with a very specific vision for our non-traditional wedding. We had a hard-to-name style we were looking for: a combination of editorial (drama! lighting! art!), journalistic (candid, authentic, unscripted moments), and film (gritty, vintage) which asks for expertise and experience. While researching wedding websites, Bryan's photos made us stop dead in our tracks and look at each other. Here were the drama-filled editorial shots, like pages from magazines. Here were the incredible candid shots that captured volumes of emotions in split seconds: The bride's face when her friends surprised them in public, a groom's genuine laughter tossed over his shoulder, a mother looking in a mirror. THAT is what I was looking for. // HE IS A PROFESSIONAL: Bryan is just... really good at what he does. He is really good at running his business. He is reliable, highly communicative, and high quality. // QUICK EYE: His keen eye identifies money shots quickly, he directs you smoothly and expertly, and he has his shot in seconds. He is a master with light and color and composition. // NO AWKWARDNESS: Each photo is amazing and we were stunned at the beauty of the shots that sometimes, we didn't even remember him taking. // QUICK TURNAROUND TIME: Most of my friends wait months to get their wedding photos back. We got ours within two weeks. There were 400 photos and they were all edited. Select were black and white. He even had film photos. I don't know how he does it. //HE IS A GENUINELY NICE AND FUN PERSON: He is so nice and funny and sweet. I learned so much about him as a person. I'm his biggest fan. // FINAL COMMENTS: Bryan is really worth it. If you are looking for one thing to NOT worry about during your wedding, and want someone you can trust to do amazing work and be on top of it at all times - hire him. Your photos will be unreal. -

Bryan Sargent was exactly the photographer we were looking for to shoot our wedding. We were looking for someone with an editorial style who would be more like a fly on the wall and let us and our guests enjoy our ceremony and reception as it happened without interrupting nor needing to take us away from our special day.
Once we met him we loved his energy. He just is a fun and happy person to be around. Personally I was nervous about photos because I don't consider myself a photogenic person and tend to involuntarily make awkward faces when a camera is around. We got to meet and learn more about each other during our engagement shoot. We originally didn't plan on doing engagement photos but it was instrumental in him getting familiar with us and how we do in front of a camera. The photos turned out amazing.
As for the wedding, Bryan made the whole experience seamless. He is very efficient and got all the shots he needed to without really needing to stop us or pose us. He just went with the flow of the day and got what he needed as things happened, and that was really important to us. He did his research with the venue and even got us up onto the rooftop for the best photos of the day which we weren't sure we would get access to.
Bryan also has a good eye for catching unusual, unexpected, yet super interesting moments that happen throughout the day, which is also what drew us to him. He definitely captured some of the moments for us for our wedding. We skipped on getting a videographer, and don't regret it because we felt like the essence of the day was fully captured in Bryan's photos. -

Our Wedding Photographer and now, Our Friend!
I’ll start my review by saying we absolutely love Bryan and would choose him again and again! During wedding planning, we interviewed many photographers to get a sense of style, personality, and price. With some of the companies we talked to, I felt like we were just another couple they wanted to add to the docket and it was super impersonal. When Russell and I met Bryan, we realized we met someone really special!! We were nervous about our engagement shoot because we didn’t want to be awkward, and Bryan put us so much as ease. We had so much fun with him, and honestly couldn’t wait for the wedding. Leading up to the wedding, communication was clear and consistent. A week before the wedding I thought I might have communicated the schedule wrong to my hair and make up girls and he made himself available right away to go through the timeline and ensure me that I was right and all was ok. The day of the wedding, Bryan arrived early and the energy was so positive and fun! We had some rain but that didn’t stop us from having a blast and getting some of the most beautiful shots I’ve ever seen. When the rain cleared, we ran outside and got great photos there too! All the while, despite the weather and the crazy family, Bryan stayed cool and calm, which was great for us. The day was truly so fun and magical and he played a huge part in that. After the wedding we got our entire album back in less than 2 weeks!! It was AMAZING! I speak so highly of Bryan and all I can say is that I can’t wait for more family events where we can hire him to come photograph. He captures his couples so beautifully and is also just a wonderful person to know!! You will not be disappointed with Bryan! -

Fantastic Photographer!
We used Bryan Sargent's photography services for our wedding a few weeks ago. We just received our photos back (so quickly), and they are beyond my wildest expectations! They are absolutely stunning and they so perfectly and genuinely captured every part of our special day. It has been such a treat to be able to look through these photos and relive the evening over and over again! Bryan has such an incredible eye and is an extremely talented photographer! Working with Bryan was a total breeze! If you're looking for a photographer who is really easygoing, he is definitely your guy. I was shocked when we got our pictures back in just a few days and he had managed to capture so many moments that I have literally no recollection of him being there for. Highly Recommend!
Bryan is the absolute best! We can’t recommend him enough. We LOVE our wedding and engagement photos and hope to continue working with him again in the future.
The top 5 things that stand out about Bryan:
#1 His photography skills are top notch. In addition to having our planned shot list and locations selected, he creates on the fly and captures candids and movement so well. These creative and candid photos are our favorite from our big day.
#2 We love his editing style. We prefer a style that’s a bit more editorial and all of our photos from him look like they could be in a magazine. It’s truly amazing.
#3 He is truly the nicest person. He has a sense of kind calmness that helps so much on days like wedding days and is also the type of person you want to hang out with. This made working with him so seamless and easy.
#4 He edits very quickly. Bryan was able to get us our fully edited set of engagement photos within just a few days and somehow managed to get us our full (and giant) library of beautifully edited wedding photos in just a week after our wedding. He said it typically takes him no longer than 1-2 weeks to do this which is so great as no one wants to wait a month or more for their wedding photos.
#5 He was very accommodating when we requested adding a second shooter due to the size of our wedding. Although he typically shoots weddings solo, he had a great recommended colleague who came on to support photography for the day. She shot within the same style as Bryan, and because he edited all the photos, they all fall within the same style and the high standards that Bryan has. -

We decided to hire Bryan not just because of his skillset as a photographer (which speaks for itself); we decided to hire Bryan because of his willingness to collaborate and help us bring our day to life.
Since the first call we had prior to hiring Bryan, he was a great listener and wanted to know about the vision we had for our photography. Leading up to the wedding was also fantastic as he circled back for another phone call to go over our shot list and also make recommendations to our schedule based on his vast previous experiences.
On the day, Bryan was on time and cordial. He provided direction when necessary, but really Bryan's talents shine with his candid photography. His photos bring a sense of energy and intimacy that take us back to our wedding day. I also have to point out how impressed I was when we were setting up the 'first look' photo. Bryan was not only looking for the best location, but also was aware of my wife's dress and wanting to put her somewhere where the dress wouldn't get dirtied up prior to the ceremony. It's the small things like that which show his expertise and professionalism.
In short: Bryan was an excellent photographer and his skillset is amplified by his ability to work with you on getting those shots you've envisioned in your mind. Hire him! -

Bryan absolutely blew us away with all of the images captured of our October 2021 wedding at Gotham Hall. He is so fun and easy to work with, and really captured the energy of our day. What I loved most was how he showcased the emotion in every moment. He is a pro and a very genuine person. We didn't include our dog in our wedding day but wanted some memories with her and he took the most stunning photos of our pup during our engagement session! He took absolutely amazing pictures - his style is really distinctive and gives the photos a very unique, artistic look. Not only that, but he had them to us within a week! Which was perfect, because all you want to do after your wedding is relive it by looking at the pictures! We’re so thankful to Bryan for capturing all the special moments of our day.
